I guess that Qazox will not be able to host the World Cup unless he sorts out his problems fast. However, I would not blame him, he hosted many events before.

It's fixed. A DoS attack on my provider is something beyond my control... that and working a lot over the last 3 days left me w/ little chance to go anywhere to get any connection.

But I'm back. Hope you enjoyed the 72+ hours of me being quiet. :rofl:

For anyone interested, I completed the WC54 wiki and did the entire WC55 wiki this afternoon for your viewing pleasure.

Just wanted to post here letting anyone who is interested know that I will be away for roughly three weeks beginning today. While I'll have internet access, it won't be constant and I'll maybe only check NS a couple of times. So don't worry, I didn't leave.

We're in that horrible phase where all the helpful types with NSWC Signups access think "well the hosts will have to go through the sign-ups anyway, so there's not really any point to me being helpful and updating the signups thread now".

Seeing as the hosts will be announced tomorrow, it should be updated fairly soon after that.

Hey everyone, I have some exciting news for you all. I would post this in the Presidental Announcements thread but don't want to get into a debate as to whether or not I have the authority too. As you probably are aware, I had been collecting the votes for World Cup 56 hosts as Cafundeu is a candidate. It is past the cutoff time now for the vote and I bring you these resultsL

The Final Results for WC56 Hosts are:
Valanora & Sorthern Northland: 12
Cafundeu & Sarzonia: 8
Abstain: 1
Re-open: 0

Congrats Val and Sorth! Commiserations to Caf and Sarz, you had a fantastic bid.

Cass, I would venture a guess that you do have the authority, considering the President specifically delegated you to do so and it's a presidential duty you were carrying out, but I'll allow a more knowledgeable person to answer that for sure.

I would also agree that you had the authority.

In this case, at the very worst you'd be the president's designate to post on Caf's behalf. IIRC, Krytenia posted when he was acting as president when Veph and Starblaydia were both not around, and I think Caf may have posted something when he was acting as vice president. Or was it TBI?...

In any event, congratulations to the winners.

Caf posted as acting-acting Vice President, when acting-President Krytenia was involved in the bid. So there's no problem with the VP posting a result in that thread when the Prez is involved as a candidate.
