It would be hard to say which would be more valued, but of the more advanced careers, the most common would have to be in the legal system in Vermont's Governance.

So anything in the Legal/Government aspect.

Does your nation have any charitable aid organizations of note?

(OOC: Lebriel as a state is not quite three years old, and has just ended a decade-long conflict, the Formation War, which left the nation looking something like Vukovar on back in the days of the Croatian War of Independence.)

Does Vermont have a refugee program or similar program in which people in need can seek refuge or temporary stay within Vermont because of natural disaster, civil strife, persecution in their homeland, etc?

Yes, the Vermont International Refuge Program was established by the national government for this very purpose in 1895. It was designed to give refugees a secure way to enter and remain protected in our borders, but also to ensure their wellbeing and integration into society, with close talks with the Executive Advisory Office of Social Equality.

It is legislated as 1.5% of our current population, but amends can be made and it is hardly fixed policy. However, this has never needed to be done, the amount of refugees has always been within this amount.

Would the program be willing to accept a few hundred Maraqueans on a temporary basis until we are able to clean up and rebuild after the Mount Sidkei disaster in northwestern Darkaan?

Oh, absolutely. We would accept as many as Maraque would like us to. Our policies of refugees extend to more long-term things.

We we certainly wouldn't want to overrun your country with a bunch of those funky naked folks us Maraqueans are. Although it's probably cold in Vermont this time of year, so they would probably be clothed.

Yes, true. The temperature is expected to hover in and out of the freezing range for this week.

Well, we're fairly eccentric too......maybe not so naked though :P

Ah yes, they will certainly be wearing clothing. They tend to freak out when it hits below 70, let alone at or below freezing!

But alas, we believe they will settle easily. They might be a little crazy at first, what, with all the wide open space and clean air. Something they don't know anything about. But we appreciate the Vermontian government in allowing them a place to stay!

Oh, yes. It's a nice time in Vermont actually, nearing the end of the fall when the fall scenery is at its prime. We are practically a collection of small towns, farms, and a whole ton of forest after all.

It is absolutely no problem. Likely a whole plethora of residents will be more than glad to share their residences in order to accommodate our guests from Darkaan.

Communications

Most Popular Mass Media
-Internet
-Newspaper
-TV
-Radio

TV
TV signal, like Radio, is only regulated so far as signal strength in order to ensure one station does not override another. Stations are set nation-wide for the first 9 channels among all providers, by an act passed in complaint of cable companies favoring certain channels and omitting major ones in their lineup.

+[1] - VPAC 1 (National VGA Programming)
[2] - VNC (Vermont News Channel)
[3] - VNC2 (Second Vermont News Channel)
[4] - GMP (Green Mountain Programming)
[5] - MAC (Montpelier Access Central)
[6] - VET (Vermont Entertainment Television)
+[7] - VPAC 2 (Department Town Hall/Meeting Programming)
[8] - FRC (Films and Re Runs Channel)
+[9] - VTW (Vermont Weather)

+ = Gov Channel

-Rest Depends On Provider-

Radio
Radio Stations are only regulated in ability to project signals in order to assure balance - Stations are not assigned frequencies.

Newspaper
Newspapers are not regulated, and there is no afiliate system- Local and National newspapers pop up at Market allowance and balanced discretion.

-Montpelier Update (National Politics/Economics Analysis)
-Vermont Sun
-Vermont Messenger

Internet
Unregulated, most popular form of news in front of newspaper.

IC:
Vermont plays host to numerous universities, but Montpelier University, which accepts only 7% of those who apply. It is most notable for it's academics, particularly it's College of Law.
