The Front Range Republic wouldn't dream of formally endorsing a candidate in a country we have so few interests in. With that said, the majority of Front Rangers of almost any political stripe recognize William Jones as the only candidate not campaigning against fundamental freedoms and are "kinda hoping" that he'll pull it out.

Underdog Tied With President
Image
President Jupoi & Senator Jones speaking to voters.

With a foreign endorsement from Mount Shavano, and fierce campaigning to voters across the country, Senator William Jones gained ten points, tying him with President Ramon Jupoi in both the domestic polls and the foreign endorsement counter. Because of the Senator's seemingly late rising in the campaign, it looks as though Willows supporters have changed sides, which is odd when you consider the two parties are basically the exact opposites of each other.

Senator Jacob Estevez, and Governor Robert Dockard have also been campaigning for their respective Presidential candidates, which has contributed to the already feverish race. Democratic candidate Cash Willows is probably looking over his shoulders now that his two opponents are ten points behind and closing. This is going to be one war of an election, and the polls support that,

Colonel Cash Willows (Ret.)/Conald Fredricks-40%
President Ramon Jupoi/Senator Jacob Estevez-30%
Senator William Jones/Govenor Robert Dockard-30%

With the debates only weeks away, the three candidates, along with their running mates will be battling each other as if they were Spartans. Let us hope that each may stay alive long enough to provide a fantastic show on Election Day.

STATEHOOD!
Image
The flag of The Williams Islands.

Exactly at noon, President Jupoi signed legislation that, with the approval of the three Houses of Congress and the ratification of all the current states, the colony of The Williams Islands officially became the twenty-seventh state of East Klent. Colonial Governor Alexander Burallis has also been elected to become the new state's governor. Burallis is also one of the signers of the Treaty of Williamsburg.

The Williams Islands were discovered during the Independence War, (2008-2010), by the crew of the EKS McPatrick. Once news of the discovery reached East Klent, citizens wanting to leave the terrors of the war, set sail to the new colony to begin new settlements. The colony quickly prospered and former Captain Burallis was appointed as governor. In 2009, a tropical storm threatened the colonists and the islands were evacuated to nearby foreign settlements. The tropical storm unexpectantly changed course, and passed the colony, leaving it entirely untouched. The Williams Islands continues to prosper to this day, and on this special day, the colony was admitted into the Union as a new state.

The President has given himself more voters. As a colony, the Williams Islands only had votes in Congress, and their representatives were appointed by the Governor. Now, each citizen living in the islands has the chance to vote for their leaders, and because of this, the Jupoi/Estevez campaign's polling numbers have skyrocketed from thirty percent a week ago to now fifty-five percent putting them well in the lead.

President Ramon Jupoi/Senator Jacob Estevez-55%
Commander Cash Willows (Ret.)/Conald Fredricks-25%
Senator William Jones/Govenor Robert Dockard-20%

The President has just proven that no one has this election in the bag until the final ballot is counted.

Debate Schedule Announced
Image
Chairman Craig Ferguson* of the Council for Political Debates announces the schedule.

An hour ago, the schedules for the Presidential Debates and Vice-Presidential Debates were released to the press and then announced to the general public. The Debates will be held at the McCurter Business Center in Williamsburg, D.K, starting on the 30th of September, this month, to the 4th of October. There will be four Presidential Debates, which start on the 30th and end on the 3rd of next month, and one Vice-Presidential Debate, which is on the 4th.

The first Presidential Debate will feature President Jupoi and Colonel Willows who will be asked a series of questions by a three-person panel for about an hour with the rules for the debate being explained to the candidates and the audience at the beginning. The second debate will feature the President and Senator Jones, who will be questioned by a different three-person panel. The tird debate will feature Colonel Willows and Senator Jones being questioned by a third panel. The final debate will feature all three candidates being questioned by each of the previous panels. The Vice-Presidential Debate will feature all three VP candidates being questioned by a two-person panel.

With the newly-elected Chairman of the CFPD, Ferguson, there has been a change in the normal guidelines for debates. The new guidelines have not yet been released to the press, but there are speculations that the highly unpopular time limits on the candidates' speaking time may be lifted, which will give the candidates an opportunity to really debate and cross-examine one another.

Recent polls still favor the President,

President Ramon Jupoi/Senator Jacob Estevez-50%
Colonel Cash Willows (Ret.)/Conald Fredricks-30%
Senator William Jones/Govenor Robert Dockard-20%

Professional political analysts predict that Willows will get a boost from the debates since he has proven to be a powerful public speaker as well as a aggressive debater. However, the President and Jones have more political experience that Willows, and they might actually have the upper hand. We will see in two days.

* Not to be confused with the other Craig Ferguson.

NEWS FLASH

Western Statehood
Image
The flags for the two new states.

After being under the control of Nazi Centauri since 2005, West Klent has now been given back to East Klent, and the land has been spit up into the 28th and 29th states, Occidens Klentia and West South Island. Occidens Klentia is West Klent in Latin. It is too early for any polling results to come in, but since the President has overseen this and has signed the legislation, his numbers, just as they did with The Williams Islands, could spike.

One Debate
Image
The spokesman for the CFPD announces the change.

Due to the possible military interference with the genocide currently taking place within the nation of Great Valencia, each party has agreed for there to be only one debate, so that President Jupoi may concentrate on the Valencian situation. The debate will begin on the 1st of November at 6:00 p.m. EST and will feature the three candidates being questioned by the panel that was scheduled for the first debate. The location of the debate has not changed and is still the McCurter Business Center.

When asked about the change, Senator Jones had this to say, "Now is the time that we all should put partisan politics aside and put our full support behind our current Commander in Chief." It would seem that the Klentian public is not taking the Senators advice and causing the President's polling numbers to plummit,

President Ramon Jupoi/Senator Jacob Estevez-20%
Colonel Cash Willows (Ret.)/Conald Fredricks-40%
Senator William Jones/Govenor Robert Dockard-40%

If we do go to war against Great Valencia, we could see a change in leadership come election day.

Sorry about the debate, lost time.
AND THE WINNERS ARE...
Image
President-Elect Cash Willows and Vice-President-Elect Conald Fredricks.

As of 12:00 a.m. on this sixth day of November, the people have spoken. Democratic presidential and vice-presidential candidates Cash Willows and Conald Fredricks are the official winners of of the 2011 Presidential Election, by a landslide of votes. With every ballot cast and counted, East Klent officially has her next leaders. Cash Willows will be the fifth president of East Klent and Conald Fredricks will be the sixth vice-president of East Klent.

Of the 900,005,118 registered voters, from the ages of sixteen and up, 834,756,927, which calculates as a record breaking 92.8% voter turnout. Of those 834,756,927 voters, 423,172,639 voted for the democratic ticket, which is 50.7% of the vote with a 2.1% margin of error.

Here are the total results of the presidential election,

Domestic Vote
Colonel Cash Willows (Ret.)/Conald Fredricks-423,172,639 (50.7%)

Senator William Jones/Govenor Robert Dockard-245,212,767 (29.4%)
President Ramon Jupoi/Senator Jacob Estevez-166,371,521 (19.9%)

International Vote
Colonel Cash Willows (Ret.)/Conald Fredricks-26 (39%)

Senator William Jones/Govenor Robert Dockard-21 (31%)
President Ramon Jupoi/Senator Jacob Estevez-20 (30%)

Foreign Endorsements
Colonel Cash Willows (Ret.)/Conald Fredricks-6 (60%)

Senator William Jones/Govenor Robert Dockard-2 (20%)
President Ramon Jupoi/Senator Jacob Estevez-2 (20%)

Winner By State
Image
Colonel Cash Willows (Ret.)/Conald Fredricks-20* (67%)

Senator William Jones/Govenor Robert Dockard-6 (20%)
President Ramon Jupoi/Senator Jacob Estevez-4 (13%)

*-Includes Williamsburg, District of Klentia.

The Democratic Party has also seized control of all three houses of Congress from the Unionist Party; The Senate, House of Representatives, Parliament. This Democratic takeover might produce some interesting events in the coming four years.

Many believe that President Jupoi's downfall was his strong support behind a possible military conflict with the country of Great Valencia that he demonstrated repletiatley throughout the remainder of the campaign and the debate. Senator Jones also supported the conflict, originally, but he retracted his support during the debate.

The line from the debate that every Klentian must think that won the election for Willows was this,

Jupoi-"Like Morris Williams, the founding father, I will improve this great nation to the farthest possible lengths by creating jobs, and also like Morris Williams, I will make sure that this nation stays on that path of improvement."

Willows- "Sir, I have met Morris Williams, I have worked with Morris Williams and I have served under Morris Williams. You, Sir, are no Morris Williams."

President-Elect Willows will give his victory speech at 11:00 a.m. EST today at Saunder's Stadium, Saunders, Williamsburg, where just thirty-six years ago, he was born.
