The F-20 “Accendo” is a medium sized Multi-role fighter, based off of the Su-33 and Su-35 Fighters, while being downsized slightly in an attempt to lower the price as much as possible. If the aircraft were to be lined up side by side by a Su-35 or other variant of the Su-27, it would be near impossible to tell the aircraft apart other than the F-20 being slightly smaller than the other aircraft and a different nose and undercarriage layout, to accommodate the aircrafts different engines and intended different armament. In addition to being designed almost largely completely from the Existing Su-33 and Su-35, the aircraft uses Radar systems found commonly around Pennsylvanian.

The Radar onboard the Aircraft is that of rebuilt PEI-1145 AESA radars, old, but still highly capable systems, of which 120 were left in storage at various Warehouses around the nation at different PAI Factories following the Cancellation of the X-40 Air Superiority Fighter Program following the purchase of the Ya-42. The Radar is capable of detection of large aircraft, such as Tankers and bombers, at ranges exceeding 350km, and is able to track 50 targets, while allowing a lock on up to 12 of those targets. While the Radar itself is not exactly the smallest radar system in the world, it was still able to be fitted into the F-20s nosecone without much problem, giving the aircraft an F-22 Raptor style Nosecone. The radar is able to detect and track most non-stealth fighters of the world at about 250km and will allow the launching of up to 12 Radar Guided air to air missiles at them.

The aircrafts armament includes 14 hard points, 4 of which are rated at 250kg, intended for Short Range Infra-Red guided missiles such as the AIM-9X or IRIS-T, another 6 are rated at up to 500kg of weight, intended for either small bombs or missiles such as the AIM-120C-7 or AIM-7 Sparrow. The Final 4 Hard points are rated at 1,000kg, intended for either large bombs or either AIM-7 or AIM-120s, or other, large missiles such as the AGM-65 Maverick and AIM-54.


The aircraft is designed as a Multi-role fighter, intended to be a larger, more capable replacement for multi-role aircraft such as the F-16 Fighting Falcon. While it is a fair amount larger than the F-16, it has much greater maneuverability than the F-16, as demonstrated during numerous War games that occurred in which Su-30s faced off against the F-16 and beat them. Since the F-20 is directly based off of the Su-33 and Su-35, which are themselves based directly off of the Su-30, it retains those aircrafts maneuverability, which is still much better than the F-16s, despite its much larger size. In addition, the aircraft also has 3D Thrust Vectoring, like found on the F-22A "Raptor" and other aircraft, further increasing its maneuverability, allowing it to do high intensity, hard maneuvers such as Pugachev's Cobra, Herbst maneuver, and the Kulbit.


In a attempt to bring the cost of the aircraft down as much as possible, it was decided to drop any attempts to include stealth or Aircraft-Carrier compatibility, as well as use as much previously available equipment as possible, demonstrated by the decision to use already built and available PEI-1145 AESA radars instead of designing a brand new radar. In addition, most of the remaining electronics are off of the shelf electronics, bought from suppliers to PAI with their normal large order of Electronics for new build electronics for the AWAC/S and Tankers and other aircraft they were regularly rolling off of the line, lowering the price considerably compared to if the parts had been bought separately. Since PAI itself produces thousands of jets per year already, plus that fact that it still produces 20% of every jet of its design produced overseas. This adds up to bring the aircrafts overall cost down to almost as low as it can get, seeing as PAI needs to make a minimum profit off of the aircraft to avoid losing money on it.

Abstract
The B-10 “Lancelot” is a high speed, long range, Variable Geometry Strategic Bomber, designed out of a need for a Mach 2.2+ Strategic Bomber, more suited to the need of the Pennsylvanian Air Force than the then in service Ath-86 “Nebula”, of Yanitarian Origin.

Background and Conceptualization

Work on the B-10 began in 2002, when a Request for Proposal was sent out to the major Aircraft Manufacturers of Pennsylvania. The design detailed requirements for a aircraft with a capability of Mach 2.2+ at altitude, with a weapons capacity overall exceeding 48,000kg internally, with external hardpoints capable of supporting a further 19,000+ kilograms of payload.


The B-10 was designed with a ability to carry significant numbers of Cruise missiles or bombs long distances, with a ability to dash at extremely high speed for periods of times. Another requirement for the design was that the aircraft have as low of a Radar Cross Section (RCS) as possible from the top, in order to allow it to have something of a chance to evade detection if it were ever to be used for low altitude penetration of enemy Airspace.

Propulsion system

The propulsion for the Aircraft is that of 6 Pennsylvania General Electric 3900-B202-101 Afterburning Turbofans, each capable of up to 137 kilonewtons running on dry thrust, or up to 245 kilonewtons when utilizing afterburners. These engines allow the aircraft to, at any one time, put out between 822 and 1,470kn of power, able to push the aircraft at rather high speeds, both at low altitude and at high altitude.

The 3900-B202-101 Afterburning Turbofans used in the aircraft are themselves based off of the NK-32 Afterburning Turbofan, used in the Soviet Designed and Built Tupolev Tu-160 “Blackjack”, a large, long range, Mach 2.2 capable bomber.

Performance differentials between aircraft with fixed and variable air intakes lead to a fairly prompt decision to feature variable and automatically controlled intake-adjustment systems. These systems alter the angle of the “Lancelot’s” underwing-mounted intakes to allow the greatest volume, and optimal airflow speed and pressure, for any given aircraft velocity. Adjustable sections internal to the inlets minimise turbulence and restriction of flow, again for differing airspeeds. Easy-access panels allow maintenance to be carried out on most of the engine without requiring a ladder, another feature for which maintenance teams are grateful. However, as a result of this, the engines of the aircraft hang relatively low to the ground, meaning that the chance of a obtrusion sticking out of the ground damaging the aircrafts engine is much higher than in other aircraft.

The majority of the aircraft fuselage, with the exception of the Cockpit area, 5 Bomb bays, and other vital areas that are open, is home to a massive amount of fuel stores. The aircraft can carry up to 190,000kg of fuel internally, and also holds the ability to carry up to 19,200kg more fuel on its exterior hard points, each of which is wet, meaning that they can each carry a fuel tank weighing up to 3,200 kilograms, greatly adding to the aircraft fuel carrying ability. While the Aircrafts exterior hard points are capable of supporting Drop Tanks for additional Fuel, opposite of this, the aircrafts interior Bomb Bays are incapable of carrying fuel tanks.

In order to support aerial refueling, a refueling probe, for use with a Probe and Drogue Style of Aerial Refueling, and the ability to use a aerial refueling boom, allowing the aircraft to refuel from any type of tanker aircraft around, provided that it does not use some very odd sort of aerial refueling methods.


Fuselage and wing design

The Fuselage of the aircraft is designed to follow a sort of Blended Wing Body design, which allows for the aircraft to be aerodynamic, therefore, allowing very high speeds, while still maintaining enough lift surfaces to allow a very high payload.

Blended Wing Body, or BWB, designates an alternative airframe design which incorporates design features from both a futuristic fuselage and flying wing design. The purported advantages of the BWB approach are efficient high-lift wings and a wide airfoil-shaped body. This enables the entire craft to contribute to lift generation with the result of potentially increased fuel economy.

Flying wing designs are defined as having two separate bodies and only a single wing, though there may be structures protruding from the wing. Blended wing/body aircraft have a flattened and airfoil shaped body, which produces most of the lift to keep itself aloft, and distinct and separate wing structures, though the wings are smoothly blended in with the body.

The Aircraft uses Variable Geometry (VG) or “Swing Wings”, enabling the aircraft to travel at very high speeds, allowing the aircraft it’s up to Mach 2.4-2.6 speed at altitude, while during slow speed travel, like when the aircraft is taking off or landing or during low speed transit, when its wings are spread, giving the aircraft more lift, preventing the aircraft from stalling.

The usage of Variable Geometry allows for the aircraft to maintain a high lift to weight ratio when its wings are spread, while, when they are swept at the aircrafts maximum of 67.5 degrees backwards, allows the aircraft to travel at very high speeds while maintaining the lift needed to keep the aircraft from staling.

Much of the aircraft is made from various composites, such as carbon and aramid fibres as well as epoxy-resin and large amounts of the metal Titanium, which is significantly stronger per unit of volume than steel, as well as being lighter. While altogether, this makes the aircraft very expensive, it overall increases the airframes durability, enabling the very high speeds that it is capable of.

In a attempt to lower the aircrafts Radar Cross Section (RCS) against Look Down Radar Systems, such as those found on Interceptors or Airborne Early Warning and Control Systems (AEW/CS), the top of the aircraft has significant attempts to lower its RCS. These include the modifications of the upper fuselage in order to deflect radar signals away from the aircraft, preventing them from returning to the sending aircraft. Along with these changes, the aircraft, strangely compared to many other aircraft of a similar type, incorporates a V-Tail into the design, eliminating any right angles from the tail of the aircraft, as well as the Horizontal Stabilizers. While this results in a very large V-tail for the aircraft, it nonetheless lowers the aircrafts overall Radar Cross Section.

While the designers of the aircraft failed to go so far as to apply Radar Adsorbent Material (RAM) to the aircraft in any form, due to the fact that at the high speeds the aircraft might end up operating at, this would be a wasted effort, with the RAM having to be replaced on the aircrafts airframe quite often, for a relatively minimal gain.

Avionics and control interfaces

The centrepiece of the avionics suite on the Lancelot is the AN/APG-94 ‘Huldra’. Sharing many similarities with the AN/APG-77 of the F-22, as well as the AN/APG-92 ‘Heimdall’ of the LY908, the ‘Huldra’ radar of the Lancelot is the Lancelot’s primary anti-air sensor. A very long range, multi-function, rapid scan system, the ‘Huldra’ is an active-element electronically scanned array radar, integrated into the airframe both physically and electromagnetically. Designed with low probability of intercept (LPI) capability at the forefront of the design, ‘Huldra’ is intended to provide pilots, and the wider battlenet, with detailed information about extant threats without allowing hostile radar detection of the parent aircraft, or the ‘Huldra’ radar emissions.

Based in large part upon the Lyran experiences building the ‘Heimdall’, the ‘Huldra’ is however a more capable and advanced system, with far lower likelihood of successful detection by radar warning receivers or EW aircraft, higher resistance to jamming, greater frequency agility and smoother power-throughput. The radar has very few mechanical parts (which are common to most other radars), improving reliability considerably.

Like the ‘Heimdall’, ‘Huldra’ utilises a separate transmitter and receiver for each of the antenna's finger-sized radiating elements. 1900 individual transmit and receive modules, situated behind each element of the radar, constitute the array. Each module weighs 15g, and has a power output of over 4W. The base-plate is polyalphaolefin (PAO) liquid-cooled to dissipate the considerable generated heat.

The AESA nature of the radar is also integral to its Low Probability of Intercept (LPI) capability. ‘Huldra’ defeats most RWR/ESM systems by virtue of being able to carry out an active radar search on RWR/ESM equipped fighter aircraft without the target knowing it is being illuminated. Unlike conventional radars which emit high energy pulses in a narrow frequency band, LPI AESA systems like ‘Huldra’ emit low energy pulses over a wide (often punctuated or non-continuous) frequency band using a technique called spread-spectrum transmission. When multiple echoes are returned, the radar's signal processor combines the signals. The amount of energy reflected back to the target is about the same as conventional radar, but because each LPI pulse has considerably less amount of energy and may not fit normal modulation patterns, the target will have a difficult time detecting the Lancelot. Each individual LPI pulse is only marginally above background radiation levels, a factor which further forces down the likelihood of successful detection of the ‘Huldra’ system.

‘Borrowing’ from the APG-79, copies of which were obligingly provided by a pair of moderately well reimbursed Raytheon employees (who are currently living under false identities somewhere in the Varessan Commonwealth), ‘Huldra’ offers simultaneous air-to-air and air-to-ground modes. This is achieved using highly agile beam interleaving in near-real time, providing the pilot (and datalinks) an extremely high degree of situational awareness and tactical flexibility. The system operates (primarily) in the X-band, and uses reciprocating ferrous phase shifters to allow beam positioning in a time-frame measured in tens of nano-seconds.

By implementation of Cromwell-backed system resource management, ‘Huldra’ automatically schedules tasks to optimise radar functions and minimise pilot workload, and, for that matter, to minimise data overload. Therefore, the radar can continue scanning while communicating with other aircraft and capturing ground imagery, and can simultaneously guide multiple weapons to multiple targets widely spaced in azimuth, elevation and range.

Non-Cooperative Target Recognition is also one of the ‘Huldra’ capabilities. Traditionally problematic, the AN/APQ-94 accomplishes this by generating an array of fine radar beams and generating a high-resolution image of the target by utilising Inverse Synthetic Aperture Radar (ISAR) processing. The targets own relative rotation generates a 3D image (by virtue of the doppler shift) of the target, which is then cross-referenced with a radar-picture database. Should this be insufficient, the details are cross-checked via the Cromwell system, although the onboard bank of radar images is very comprehensive.

Other ‘Huldra’ capabilities include high resolution synthetic aperture radar mapping (working in conjunction with other integral and external assets, this provides extremely detailed information concerning topography and surface conditions), multiple ground moving target indication and track (GMTI/GMTT), combat IFF, electronic warfare resistance and integrated ECCM, automatic target prioritising and more. The radar is able to reliably detect, acquire and track a 3m2 RCS target at 400km, and a target with a RCS of 0.01m2 at 90km. UAVs, cruise missiles and fifth-generation aircraft are thus all on the list of likely candidates for successful engagement by Shadowhawks.
‘Huldra’ is able to track 64 aerial targets, and engage 12 of them, eight if fired missiles are semi-active radar homing, rather than active. Previously a rarity in Lyran aerial warfare, the very low probability of intercept of the ‘Huldra’ has brought SARH back onto the table of options, and targets have sometimes been downed by radar-guided missiles without ever having realised that they had been detected, let alone illuminated, tracked, allocated a target priority, and fired upon.

The Lancelot also carries the world-benchmark AN/ALQ-281 ‘Tiamat’ EW system as integral. By default, ‘Tiamat’ emitters are set to ‘off’. Should the Lnacelots RWR systems determine that it has, in actual fact, been detected, ‘Tiamat’ provides world-leading EW capability as an option to enhance aircraft survivability and defeat radar-lock. AN/ALQ-281 'Tiamat' (Babylonian mythology – 'Dragon of Chaos') is a Lyro-Varessan electronic warfare system. The 'Tiamat' recievers are located in several points within the leading and trailing edges of the wings, while the transmitters are housed in the wing shoulders, and at the point of the aircraft’s rearmost ‘beaver-tail’. The system, when engaged, is capable of intercepting, automatically processing and jamming received radio frequency signals. The LY910's electronic attack capabilities involve using radiated EM energy to degrade, neutralise or destroy hostile force- or force-support elements. 'Tiamat' is one of the first EW platforms to use high-end solid-state emitters, coupled with dramatically elevated potential power throughput, and dynamic and pattern-probability frequency agile (PPFA) barrage and spot jamming to render all but the most potent radars impotent. Further, if the seeking radar is calculated to be capable of burning through the jamming, precisely timed utilisation of Cromwell-backed broad-spectrum DRFM (Repeater) jamming is implemented.

This capability is second to none, and places ‘Tiamat’-equipped aircraft at the very top of known NS-combatants in the active electronic warfare role. The receivers can also be used to detect, identify and locate those signals, providing ELINT/SIGINT either automatically or manually. When emissions control (EMCON) is required (which is most of the time in the Lancelot) the 'Tiamat' transmitters can be turned off, which thus, as one would expect, cancels the EM broadcasting. Unlike the earlier AN/ALQ-99 series, the 'Tiamat' utilises power generated by the aircraft to function. Given the very high power output of the B-10s PGE 3900-B202-101 engines (137kN each dry), this has not adversely affected performance in any appreciable manner.

The primary passive combat sensor suite is taken directly from the LY908’s repertoire, and is housed on the aircraft’s underside, between the two engines. The AN/ASQ-240 Advanced Polyspectral Combat Sensor Array (APSCSA – normally referred to as the 'Apsca') features a 360 degree (ventral) scanning arc with multi-sensor, electro-optical locator/targeting system, complete with IR, low-light digital CCD TV, laser range-finder/designator, and laser spot tracker. The pod itself is 190cm long, 45cm wide, 205kg, and ranges out to 52km. The systems themselves are housed within easy-access area of the aircraft, however the relevant emitters and receivers are not so constrained. Differing systems are arrayed throughout the airframe, often within internally turreted sensor mounts to provide relevant coverage during for air to ground or air to surface operations.

Full-duplex Cromwell-datalink allows information to be processed and disseminated to friendlies, while it is received by the platform. The package, as a whole, dramatically increases capabilities for target detection, acquisition, recognition and engagement, and permits reliable all-weather, day and night engagement of multiple targets by a single aircraft, in a single pass. Further, the design is modular for ease of maintenance and upgrade, especially in the Sparrowhawk’s easy-access dorsal spine, and comes complete with a fair-wear-and-tear warranty for fifteen years, and technical support on-call to assist in maintaining it.

The Lancelot employs side-scanning functionality within the LPI ‘Huldra’ system to achieve the Pennsylvanian-standard terrain following radar capability, with inertial navigation and battlespace-network-backed global positioning systems operating in parallel, in order to minimize the likelihood of navigational error.

A BALCOTH-type data-interface, similar to the F-35’s helmet mounted display, provides the pilot with high proportions of essential information without forcing him to look within the cockpit.

The helmet provides relevant flight information to the pilot, displayed on the helmet’s visor, rather than onto a fixed cockpit HUD. This allows for the use of extremely high off-boresight weapon cueing, and for more specialised use of the glass cockpit’s three full 8” x 20” Lyran InfoWar Colour Multi-function Head Down Displays (CMFHDDs) are used in far more specific roles than generally the norm. Although interchangeable, by default the left hand CMFHDD is the primary flight display (PFD), which shows radar and moving-map related information. The full tactical situation can be (and often is) displayed on this moving map, with the relevant information fed into it by the operating battlespace management system. The right hand CMFHDD is (again, by default) the aircraft systems display monitor, which presents information pertaining to flight systems, such as the engine, slat and flap settings, weapons status and fuel quantities, and any damage sustained. Separate inset diagrams provide at-a-glance details of similar information regarding wing mates’ aircraft.

The aircraft uses a digital “fly-by-optics” control system, with a artificial stability control to help maintain overall stability of the aircraft while in flight. For safety purposes the control surfaces and stability control surfaces in the aircraft are quadruple redundant, meaning that in the case that all of the surfaces have been damaged or destroyed, the aircraft is already well on the way to the point of crash, if not already there. All of the electronics and vital systems of the aircraft are also hardened against an Electro-Magnetic Pulse. The decision to completely harden the aircrafts vital systems against a EMP attack was due to the strategic value of the bases that the B-10 was destined to be based at, and the fact that, in order to help defend against pre-emptive first strikes, many “Rampart” Nuclear Tipped Anti-Ballistic Missile Systems were placed at the airbases. The result would be that, in the event of a first strike, and any planes were not able to make it off of the ground before the Ramparts began detonating, the aircraft would still be able to take off after it was determined that it was safe to do so.

Armament

The B-10s armament is focused on 11 points whereupon weapons could be loaded, including 5 internal bays, Capable of holding up to 6 missiles of BGM-109 or Hellion 2 sized missiles, for a total of 30 missiles internally. The plane can also carry a number of bombs of equal weight.

Externally, the aircraft has 6 Hardpoints, each capable of carrying up to 3,200kg of payload, or two Hellion 2 Cruise Missiles, for a combined total of up to 19,200kg of weapons, or fuel, in the case of the 6 external hardpoints.

In total, the maximum payload of the aircraft is 67,200 kilograms of payload. While loading the aircraft to its maximum payload capacity, while at the same time loading it up with its maximum fuel capacity will bring the aircraft to within 5 tonnes of its Maximum Takeoff Weight, requiring the aircraft to have an extremely long runway for takeoff.

Undercarriage

The undercarriage of the B-10 consists of a common Tricycle landing gear, 1 in the nose, 2 in the rear of the aircraft, on the inside of the aircrafts engine mounts. The forward landing gear of the B-10, located in the nose, has 4 wheels, in two separate double mounts on the landing gear, while the 2 rear gears each have 8 wheels, in 4 double mounts.

Each tire is a “runflat”, meaning that each tire, if deflated, is designed to be able to last long enough to allow the aircraft to come to a complete stop on a properly built runway. This is intended to allow for a damage aircraft to land without causing too much unneeded damage, especially if the tires on the landing gear have been hit and deflated as a direct result.

Amenities

Each aircraft has several simple amenities for the crew for long duration flights. These include a Coffee/Tea maker, enough water for four fully grown men for 4 days, and a small refrigerator and freezer for food storage. The aircraft also has a bed in it for very long duration flights that will end up taking more than 12 hours to complete.

Export

Each B-10 is available at the cost of $525 million per unit, while Domestic Production Rights are available to nations that are permitted access to them at the rate of $2.625 trillion, or the equivalent of a purchase of 5,000 aircraft. While any nation is free to purchase any single aircraft, Domestic Production Rights are restricted, and any denial is final.

The Revolutionary Commonwealth has not yet purchased aircraft from your enterprise yet, but rest assured this is not due to ill-feeling on our part. The reputation of Pennsylvanian Aerospace wares among our defense intellectual community needs no elaboration, for it has well established itself; now indeed we even believe we can avail ourselves of that reputation's fruits at last. We seek not only bulk airframe purchases, but domestic-production rights licensing as well; the latter to preserve force-structure in the face of the inevitable attrition whether peacetime or otherwise.

Although our present airframes largely serve in the Air Revolutionary Guard and Air Revolutionary Marines without complaint, all the same there are certain categories which could stand to be updated. First and most of all we need a new high-capability strategic bomber, to be used for those missions where neither stealth nor stand-off munitions alone (as provided by other bombers we either operate now or will in future) can substitute for the executing aircraft not also possessing sufficient sheer flight performance. The B-10A Lancelot has ultimately been selected as our replacement candidate for older airframes in this specific category, and it should be noted that we saw distressingly few other options within the class lately in fact; not that this general lack of competition as yet is meant to disparage in any way what is a superlative aircraft of course. In reference to our seeking the DPR license for this aircraft, we're duly aware how sensitive it naturally is for the Pennsylvanian Federal Republic, and as justification I am prepared to offer our nation's licensed production and operation of the LY-908E Greyhawk strike aircraft from the distinguished LY-908 Warhawk family, and which indeed shares many of the same systems as the Lancelot boasts on a merely larger physical scale. We also intend to join the Bredubar Covenant in time, having ourselves some role in the confidential discussions still ongoing to form it. So please take either justification into account however your company and its policies must, and let us know what arrangements are possible for this aspect of our order once a decision is made.

Next come those aircraft necessary for modernization of our continuity-of-government program in the first instance, and of our command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance architectures as they exist aloft in the second instance, respectively. Seeking economies of scale, we've decided that it's best to move as many of these separate platforms as possible to sharing a common base airframe; that is where your company's services can come into play happily-enough. For these sorts of missions bigger can in fact be better; and so we've chosen to also order numbers of the entire range of your A380-based aircraft as listed below in the itemized section, to improve upon all aspects of mission performance and operational sustainability over various old Boeing-707 and -747 derived airframes nearing the end of their distinguished service lives in these roles. We should also direct your company's attention to our request that the E-55s be of the E-55B variant if this is possible; again if justification is needed, we are happy to cite our earlier points relative to the B-10A Lancelot acquisition proposal as further argument that we can be trusted with the systems that are common to both the Greyhawk and the E-55B as well as the B-10A.

Altogether you may find the items we request inventoried for order below; the requisite monies stand ready to be wired immediately and automatically upon order confirmation. We must admit to some possible confusion about what Pennsylvania Aerospace's exact pricing standard for DPR licenses is (if any single one exists), though operating from the few examples we do have we'll assume it is roughly the 5,000-airframe equivalent mark cited for the Lancelot by default unless otherwise stated. Do please correct us for any errors your accountants detect, of course, and I'll see to it the accountants responsible naturally correct the problem forthwith in any supplementary wirings necessary.

The F/A-30 “Lagrel”, meaning Hail in the Susquehannoc Language, is a Carrier Borne Fighter Aircraft designed to replace the aging Am-22N “Boucaneer” fighters used by the Pennsylvanian Navy and Marine Corps.

The requirement was for a highly maneuverable, low observable fighter with a capacity for a large amount of internal weapons. The requirements were for 4 SRAAMs in two outboard weapons bays, and 6 AIM-220 MRAAMs in a central main bay. In addition to this, at a cost to the aircrafts Radar Cross Section, there are also 4 wing hardpoints, capable of handling more missiles, Bombs, or fuel tanks.

The low observable aspect of the fighter required that the aircraft have a front on Radar Cross Section of 0.0001m2 and a Cross Section of 0.0015m2 on the sides of the aircraft. This is of course the target Radar Cross Section during clean flight, with no external armaments.


Armament

The primary armament of the F/A-30 “Lagrel” is that of a 25mm Revolver cannon, holding 450 rounds of ammunition, primary High Explosive Incendiary, for close in dogfights, or when a missile or bomb is not deemed as important enough, or simply cannot be used for whatever reason.

The Revolver cannon used on the F/A-30 is capable of a Sustained rate of fire of about 1,300 rounds per minute, or roughly 22 rounds per second. With only 450 rounds however, this translate to just 20.45 seconds of fire, meaning that every burst of fire needs to count. The Revolver cannon in question used is also accurate out to about 1.7 kilometers. However, due to the constriction required in the barrel to attain this accuracy, the barrel needs to be completely replaced at least every 10,000 rounds, or risk losing extreme amounts of accuracy and range.

Internally, the aircraft has 3 weapons bays, 2 mounted on the outboard sides of the engine intakes, each capable of carrying a pair of Short Range Air to Air Missiles or a single larger missile. While most other aircraft carry at most a single SRAAM in each of its smaller bays, the decision to double this amount was made to increase the aircrafts endurance in a dogfight, since two extra missiles can mean perhaps two more aircraft downed in a engagement.

The other weapons bay is located between the engines, and is capable of carrying various Weapons, though its most common load out is 6 AIM-220 “Velvet Glove” Medium Range Air to Air Missiles, four AIM-112 Long Range Air to Air Missiles, or equal weight or sized Gravity and Guided Bombs.

On the exterior, the aircraft mounts 4 External Hard points, 2 on each of its wings. These hard points are capable of holding up 750kg on the outer ones and 1,000kg on the inner ones each, for a total of 2,500kg on the 4 external hard points. These hard points are capable of carrying various weapons ranging from large Anti-Shipping Missiles to large gravity and guided bombs.

Electronics’ and Battlefield Management System

The F/A-30s radar, the AN/APG-400 “Wanishka” (Susquehannoc for Get Up) Active Electronically Scanned Array is a powerful Air Superiority Fighter Radar. Despite the F/A-30 being a designed multirole, a significant amount of priority was given on the aircrafts dogfighting ability, and, as such a Very High Tech Radar was placed within the aircraft.

The AN/APG-400 AESA radar is capable of tracking up to 200 individual targets out to a average range of 300km, or, on much longer wavelengths, out to nearly 450km. These allow the aircraft a unprecedented detection range on its radar, allowing true “First sight, first shot” capability, giving the aircraft the edge in any average dogfight. The Radar and its associated electronics’ can also allow for up to 20 Radar guided missiles to be guided onto the target by one aircraft, a capability of which will be explained in more detail during the explanation of the aircrafts Aerial Combat Battlefield Management System.

The radar also has Low Probability of Intercept (LPI) built in, such as using wider frequency bandwidths than normal radars, Frequency Hopping, a Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave Signal, and the minimum amount of power needed for the job at hand. This means that another aircraft will have a more difficult time detecting the radar using passive means while the AN/APG-400 is actively searching or painting a aircraft.

The AN/APG-400 also has a Ground Mapping Synthetic Aperture Radar(SAR) for ground mapping, as well as a Ground Moving Target Indication and Track (GMTI/GMTT) , allowing the plane to tracking moving ground vehicles such as Tanks, Cars, and other vehicles.

The Aerial Battlefield Management System employed by the F/A-30 is that of the “Tiparee” System, designed to allow maximum information sharing across multiple platforms.

The primary job of the Tiparee System is that of sharing of Radar and Status Information across a multitude of platforms, such as other Fighter Aircraft, Airborne Early Warning and Control System (AEW/CS), Ground Based Radar Sights and Naval Ships.

For example, if a E-15B AEW/CS were to detect a flight of 8 F-15C Eagle Fighters orbiting 500km away over the interior of a opposing Nation, the data would than be automatically routed to all nearby Fighters, showing on their own radar screens the location of these 8 F-15C, allowing for a engagement with better information available to the fighters, decreasing their chance of being ambushed and shot down.

Another example is that, were a F/A-30 to locate a pair of F/A-18E Super Hornets flying a search pattern looking for friendly ships, the radar information, and in extension the location of the two Super Hornets, to the other fighters in its flight, or to a nearby Surface ship, to be redistributed to any aircraft to which it is deemed needed by.

The System also shares the status of aircraft based on numbers of fully operational, partly operational, and none operational systems. This information is that transmitted to other aircraft and installations or ships, informing them of the aircrafts status.

The final major transmitted item is that of the remaining weapons for each aircraft allowing each of aircraft equipped with this system to know how many missiles remain in each of its allied aircraft.


Airframe Design & Engines

The F/A-30s airframe borrows a number of design features from various Stealth Fighters, such as the YF-23. On the outside, the Aircraft gives the appearance of a YF-23 and Su-35 meeting and giving birth to a child. From the front and sides, the aircraft could very well be mistaken for an YF-23 modification. Despite this, outside of some of the Radar Cross Section reduction features of the aircraft, very little of the aircraft was based on the YF-23, instead being based on the Su-33 and Su-35 much more by design.

The aircraft features folding wings that fold at the Wing Root, to allow for maximum storage aboard an aircraft carrier. It also features a pair of canards, which raise the aircrafts Radar Cross Section, but add lift to the aircraft, shortening its takeoff distance.

Another interesting feature of the aircraft is the fact that it is a true V-Tail aircraft, in that it only has Vertical Stabilizers, but not Horizontal Stabilizers, lowering the aircrafts Radar Cross Section, due to the reduction in Right angles.

As far as engines go, the aircraft has a pair of PEC 119-PC-500, producing up to 124kN at maximum military power (dry) and up to 191kN each on Afterburner. A unique feature is that the two exhaust nozzles on the aircraft are capable of 3D Thrust Vectoring, allowing the aircraft to vector its thrust in any direction, maximizing its ability to turn tight. While this has a negative effect on Radar Cross Section, the increase of effectiveness in a dogfight was viewed as enough of a offset that it didn’t matter.


Export

The export of the F/A-30 “Lagrel” comes in several different variants, at varying costs depending on the exact variant, which will be outlined below. Any order denials are final, and a appeal is unlikely to get you anywhere.

The AGM-233 Long Range Joint Standoff Missile (LRJSM) was designed as a replacement for the AGM-154 Joint Standoff Weapon (JSOW) by something more suited to what the Pennsylvanian Air Force, Naval and Marine Aviation anticipated that its Air Units would end up engaging. The result would eventually be named the AGM-233 Long Range Joint Standoff Missile, due to the fact that all 3 branches that operated Combat Aircraft, the Pennsylvanian Marine Corps, the Pennsylvanian Navy, and the Pennsylvanian Air Force had decided to buy the AGM-233 for use with their aircraft.

Each variant of the missile is power by a Teledyne CAE J402-CA-100 turbojet, putting out 3kN of thrust. The choice to power each variant of the missile was to allow for a much increased maximum range over a solely glide powered version. The different variants are as follows.

AGM-233A- 40kg High Explosive Warhead, the standard variant of the missile.
AGM-233B- 165 Combined Effects Bomb Sub munitions, This version of the missile is to allow for a “mini-carpet bombing” of the target area, using the Sub munitions in a area effect dispersal pattern.
AGM-233C- 60kg BROACH warhead, used for Runway cratering or hitting forward command bunkers.
AGM-233D- 36 Sensor Fuzed Anti-Tank Weapons, designed for use against Armored Formations.
AGM-233R- 24 Submunitions designed for cratering enemy runways.
AGM-233S- AGM-233A modified with Low Radar Cross Section Features, intended to allow the missile to penetrate Air Defense Systems to engage its target.


Each version of the missile can use each type of guidance system available. The Guidance package must be fitted to the nose of the missile before each missile. Each missile is produced without the Guidance package, which is connected prior to use, allowing for the missile itself to use any guidance package, all it needs to do is be connected and synced with the Aircrafts Targeting Systems or have the GPS Coordinate for the target input. This allows for the missile to act in nearly every role that it might be required to, from Hardened Bunker attacks, to runway cratering, to Anti-Shipping Attacks to attacks on Advancing Armor and Infantry Formations.

Background, conceptualisation and design

The Minotaur is a slight lengthening of the legendary Antonov AN-225 Strategic Transport aircraft. The lengthening was required in order to fit NS-grade Main Battle Tanks aboard the aircraft; and the Minotaur can also carry an entire Space Shuttle on it's back, while carrying the booster rockets inside the aircraft.

In order to save weight and allow for a larger payload, the Minotaur has no rear ramp, unloading is by means of the raising of the nose for payload release. Cargo load could include just shy of four main battle tanks (by mass).

However, the mission of the C-10 is not entirely military; a single aircraft can deliver significant quantities of commercial produce or disaster relief supplies, and the C-10 is also capable of conventional heavy lifting tasks. For instance, the completed fuselage of a 737 jet can fit inside the cavernous interior of the Minotaur.

The aircraft is powered by six ZMKB Skylark A-18 High Bypass Turbofans, producing a combined thrust of 1,410 kN. However, the sheer mass of the Minotaur means that it will never be a particularly agile aircraft, and Lamonian doctrine holds that the Minotaur should not see front-line use; instead flying where air superiority (or at the very least air parity) is assured, even with defensive flare and chaff pods on board. The Minotaur also carries the AN/APG-63(V)3 Active Electronically Scanned Array Radar; mainly configured for collision avoidance and navigation, and not for the destruction of enemy aircraft.

As the image shows, the Minotaur has two banks of seven double wheeled landing gear down the sides of the aircraft, and two double wheeled landing gears in the front. This allows for the aircraft and payloads combined weight to be distributed evenly amongst the various tires, so that the chance of the landing gear breaking off or otherwise suffering catastrophic failure at a critical moment is vastly reduced.

Export
C-10s are available at NS$300m per aircraft. Orders can be made through Pennsylvania Aerospace-Mirrorwind Incorporated, which is operating as an authorised distributor of the C-10, on behalf of LAIX, under charter from the Lamonian Government. While not a Pennsylvanian aircraft, Pennsylvanian analysis has concluded that this particular strategic cargo transport is the optimum solution for a wide spectrum of logistics taskings, and endorses it accordingly.
