Im going to just put it out there that I've gotten involved in a RP region and another two RPs, so I won't have them for this RP along with homework. I'll read the ic and keep updated on the RP. I was really hoping to join it. I hope you all good luck with it as well!
Hi, I'm Albertae. Some of you may know Albertae and participated in one of my Fantasy Medieval RPs or maybe I've RPed in the same RP as you.

Just a question you guys:

What is a baby to you in a zombie or post-apocalyptic game?

A liability and can only be turned into zombie/walker/Clicker/Other zombie names/Human bait/food or a new hope?

Something like A.J(for Kenny) and Clementine in the walking dead(telltale).
It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather we should thank God that such men lived. -George Patton

He alone, who owns the youth, gains the future. -Adolf Hitler

Part of the American dream is to live long and die young. Only those Americans who are willing to die for their country are fit to live. -General MacArthur

A liability in most settings, but in a settlement or protected area, it's a new hope.

It depends on circumstance. If were a nomadic group, no babies, they make sound too much, and the pay off for keeping them is a negative. In a permanent settlment than it'd be better.

Name: Vedenin Arseniy Valeryevich
Age: 49
Faction: Smuggler
Sex: Male
Appearance: Standing at 5’9”, Vedenin is extremely well-built. One might even dare call him “rotund”, though he would not like the insult. Needless to say, for some reason or another, he is well-fed, though that would not indicate any softness. His experience is demonstrated in his musculature. Due to his age, Vedenin’s face is squashed, almost, and his green eyes are now squints. His hair, black, is also receding. One distinctive aspect of his is his left prosthetic arm, which is pre-disaster and a low-cost version that has only basic, and admittedly slow, motor functions. That said, it is also very, very nice at hitting things. He is dressed in a suit nearly always, which is a stark contrast to what one might wear in the apocalypse. Needless to say, it is patched and has long-since worn away in some places.
Equipment/Personal Belongings: 1x Walther MP, 1x 12.7 mm Udar revolver, 2x lead weighted gloves, 1x M40 field protective mask
Personality: All business, and no games, Vedenin is what one might call “Professional”. He does not drink, does not smoke, and does not smile. In fact, what little jokes he may or may not make are always ‘gallows humor’. Vedenin reads, makes money, and moves on. One aspect of his, however, that is positive is his protectiveness to those he feels are his, those he feels are family. To him, they are sacrosanct, and must be protected at all costs, damn the monetary value. In addition to this, he is very good at inflicting pain, and does not regret what he has done.
Bio: Born in the USSR, in Vladivostok, his father went far, far away, to Korea actually. As such, Vedenin was raised by his mother, who worked in a pharmacy, and by an old soldier from East Germany. He was taught a good deal by the two, about family and the like. When he grew up, the Russian would join one of the many political parties in the country, followed by being in the Soviet Army. When the USSR fell, he would stay in the Army, having risen somewhat in the ranks, and participate in the Second Chechen War. He would be remarkably proud, having kept the majority of his squad alive, although he would lose his arm. This left him out of the Army, and Vedinen would leave the nation to go to America, where a brother of his was working in Detroit.

Since the catastrophe, he has laid claim to his own squad, of sorts, and controls a small network of Smugglers, as it were.
Strengths: Protective, well-read, and experienced.
Weaknesses: Old, Loyal, and damn him if his sight isn’t starting to go.
*Living Family Members (include locations):
Malakai Keller, Unknown
Bobby Hughes, Unknown
Rylie Knox, Hospital (Attacked by Hunters)
Reggie Watts, Hospital
*Quirks: That Prosthetic. He likes Manga.
*Likes: Manga, Football, Rugby, and being alive.
*Dislikes: Smoking, drinking, licentiousness
*Worst Fears: Failing his Family.
*Miscellaneous:

Name: Hale Rose
Age: 16
Faction (Civilian, Smuggler, Firefly, Military): Military
Sex: Female
Appearance: http://pre09.deviantart.net/fb24/th/pre ... 8b2qhw.jpg
Equipment/Personal Belongings: 1x M4A1, G3 Uniform (Black), Eagle MBAV, 7x 5.56x45mm Magazines, 1x M50 Gas Mask, M9 Bayonet, Dog Tags, A-III Backpack, 2x Novels (Holes, Unbroken), 2x Cigarette, 1x Flare, 1x Sony Cassette Player, 4x AA Batteries, Z Tactical Comtac I Headset, 1x WMX Flashlight, $10 U.S. Dollars, 1x Canteen, Chocker (Not usually worn),
Personality: An enthusiastic young girl generally used to being alone. Hale believes in ideals, and is defensive about her beliefs, leading to a dislike of cynics. Despite some issues with trust, she overcomes this distrust when apologized to, leading others to exploit this several times. While generally being a social person, Hale usually knows when to shut up however.
Bio: Raised into a world in chaos without a family, but hearing many tales about the world before the cordyceps virus, Hale enlisted into the Army at the early age of 16 to try and change it back to the way it was. Motivating her to take whatever steps necessary to restore this, this leads her to also be torn between her loyalty to the military, and the hopeful ideals of the Fireflies insurgent group. Generally used to being betrayed this has led to a trust issue, but it usually doesn't take more than a few minutes of small talk for Hale to warm up to others. After several brutal losses of close friends to both cordyceps and bandits, this has left Hale with a large case of survival guilt. As a result, has offered several times to expend herself for the good of her unit/group.
Strengths: Marksmanship, Eagerness to Learn, Resourcefulness, Compassion
Weaknesses: Naive, Eager to forgive, Generally Merciful, Compassion
*Living Family Members (include locations): None
*Quirks: Friendly, Enthusiastic, Compassionate,
*Likes (stuff like foods, sports or hobbies): Track, Cake, History, Roleplay, Stories
*Dislikes (don’t say “zombies” or “Hunters.” No shit nobody likes them, try and think of something more personal): Selfishness, Betrayal, Cynicism, Death, Laziness
*Worst Fears: Death, Infection,
*Miscellaneous (anything else you’d like to add): None.

Would he want to get to the hospital for his prosthetic? Because I'm not sure if any of the characters will be able to get there due to the military calling them all to one spot in the beginning.

I'm not entirely sure how the Last of Us deals with child soldiers, other than that they have the Military Boarding Schools for kids 13 and up. I'd suggest that you add in the Boarding School training stuff. I'm also not sure if 16 year old soldiers would perform important missions. Maybe during training some of her friends were killed, and you could elaborate on that? Just a thought.

Other than that though, you are Accepted.

Would he want to get to the hospital for his prosthetic? Because I'm not sure if any of the characters will be able to get there due to the military calling them all to one spot in the beginning.

I might boost the age up to 17.

He's had his prosthetic since the Second Chechen War. He would be at the hospital, most likely, to watch over one of his people, who is in recovery.

She has only moderate wounds, though (Was shot in the arm) and could walk, so hey. We could still get to that 'one spot'.

Sounds good to me.

I'm gonna go ahead and start working on the IC. Hope it's up to snuff by the time everybody gets their characters ready.

Right, I just thought he might be getting a replacement or something.

For your recovery person, FEDRA is so aggressive they'd probably force her to go to the monthly meetup.

This does make me wonder about rules for NPCs however, if you'd like for her to survive past the prologue. I'd say a limit of one NPC or so would suffice, and I'd just know that NPCs can die much easier than regular characters.
I don't know what I'm s'posed to do.

Actually, I'll keep the 16 year age since the story behind a 16 Y/O child soldier is a good opener.

Either way, dude. I actually also prefer 16, but wasn't sure if it'd work in-universe. I couldn't really find anything on teenage soldiers in The Last of Us, but I'm sure we can assume they are desperate and FEDRA is pretty much scum and will recruit anybody.

Yeah, they have an entire country full of zombies, Fireflys, and Hunters, I don't think they would be too pick on who they send into the meat grinder!

Well, tbh I'm hoping that the two NPCs at the hospital aren't, you know...redshirts. If and when they die, I will most certainly not skimp out on the details. That said, I would expect them to last at least four posts of murder and carnage.

And yeah, they probably would force her to go to it (Though I don't know what it is, so...yeah).

Of course, a replacement for his prosthetic would be great.

I wouldn't kill them right off the bat. I'm not really a huge fan of redshirt characters, regardless. I'll probably give them a good amount of time to get their groundings and survive some time.

I'm not sure if he'd be able to get a new prosthetic limb in Murrell's Inlet, but later? Definitely.

Added a poll for everybody's consideration.
