So you've been ejected...

Postby Kandarin » Mon Aug 09, 2010 5:23 pm

All right, so you were just cooling your heels in your home region when your founder or delegate decided you didn't fit some arbitrary rule and ejected you. Or your delegate got knocked out of place by an invader, who ejected you. Or maybe you were the invader and they caught on to you before your moment of triumph. But whatever the reason, you're in the Rejected Realms now, cursing the heavens from which you were cast and enjoying our complementary lattes and BBQ.

So, where to go from here? First of all, if this is your first time here, don't panic! Being ejected is far from Game Over. In fact, a lot of great nations achieved greatness only after finding out that their first home regions didn't appreciate them. There are plenty of better regions that would love to have you as a valued member. This Gameplay forum is full of new regions seeking founding nations like you, and there's a list of established regions with offsite communities, almost all of which are seeking active new members. If you really just want to return to where you came from, though, check to make sure that you're actually blocked from returning. If your National Happenings only says you're ejected and doesn't mention banning, you're free to go straight home.

Image

While you're here, though (or even if you've already left), sign the proverbial guestbook and tell us a little about how you got here! Where did you come from? Who ejected you? And why? Perhaps someone here with a sharp eye on game goings-on will be able to shed a little more light into what went wrong in your home region - or perhaps you'll be able to tell your side of the story at last. In any case, stay a little while, enjoy the BBQ, and safe journeys to your next destination!

(One small note: This thread is about ejections and ejectees everywhere and isn't just for current inhabitants of the Rejected Realms. Please post here if you've got anything to say about ejections - advice for ejectees, gossip about what really motivated that mass ejection in that one region, and so forth, regardless of your region. Recruiters are welcome, but please post a link to your recruitment thread elsewhere in Gameplay - this isn't supposed to be just about any one region.)

The Northern Realm, Once was a Region with a maximum count of 48 nations, then the NR cleansing of June 2010 removed almost half of the NR which were inactive, Puppets and or Socialist Nations. I left the region in early this month, and the region fell apart with a mass ejection by the NR, what's left is the UR, Kreoto, and any other regional states

I'm in another region, but lesson to learn is not to fight about a map, just don't need and over puppet use

One of my long-dead nations was the victim of one of The Pacific's infamous purges. I wandered the backwaters of NS, fell in with a "bad crowd", and had a brief but fun stint as a raider (and spent time in TRR from the less successful raids). As Ruzan, I'm here because I was curious about some activity in a Warzone, and got kicked when the fortunes of war shifted.

Must have been years ago I found that my entire region (Math) had been ejected, including the founder. I telegrammed the founder to ask what had happened, they had no idea. Maybe their account was hacked? Never figured that one out.

If I remember correctly, I've only had one nation ever banned from a Feeder region and that was The Pacific. I was always kind of proud of managing to weather the purges and such.

Anyway, I'm not a big fan of massive purges myself because:
  • It's been done (and now it's been done by JAL of all people, so there's another reason not to do it)
  • It's painstaking to do, at least if you are targeting specific nations and just not banning everyone. I've had to mass ban spam puppets that were initially made to simply annoy the region.
  • It's a waste of influence.

The first one is my main reason for not doing it. But yeah, I do put my hand up to banning those who break the rules, set out by the region. Maybe I should start warning people again, but when I used to I didn't get many responses. Plus when I did get responses and promises that 'we won't do it again', they usually did anyway.

Finally, I have no qualms about banning those nations with obscene names, mottos, etc.

Oddly enough, I got here by being ejected from TEP of all places. They and I weren't always so friendly. ;)

hello. I wasn't ejected, but the other 20 people in my region left me there all alone by myself. so in a way I did get ejected.

It would help if you could spell in a coherent manner, and if you can convince someone who actually has an understanding of the WA to write the condemnation.

Well, for writing a condemnation, spelling will matter, otherwise it wouldn't get through. And it helps to be coherent on a game that relies almost entirely on forums and therefore writing. Poor grammar and spelling will reflect poorly on the cause being championed.

I think this thread has gone off topic, can we have a split? Kandarin made this thread to talk about ejections in particular.
