Excalibur Defense and Stevencousinians Army Complete 100th G-26 MBT Upgrade

Excalibur Defense and the Stevencousinians Army completed the ascent of the service’s 100th G-26 to the G-26B2 MBT (Excalibur War) configuration, noting a substantial milestone for the program. This modernization extends the service of the Army’s fleet and increases its defense capabilities.

Excalibur Defense received a contract to work with the Stevencousinians Army to convert 200 G-26 MBT vehicles to the G-26B2 configuration in December 2014. The ongoing advances and upgrades to the system help maintain the G-26’s relevance for the following three to four decades.

As part of the contract, the company is also transferring technology into the new vehicles and is working with the Stevencousinians Army to train personnel on the upgrade and maintenance of the vehicles.

The new Excalibur Defense M-3002 Patrol Mine Protected Vehicle (MPV), which has been developed as a private venture by Excalibur Defense, is being exhibited for the first time at National Defense Expo 16 and is aimed at the export markets.

Development of the M-3002 MPV started three years ago and is now said to be complete, with production to commence as soon as orders are placed. During the design, mine blasts were simulated by special software and these were followed by tests on the actual vehicle that confirmed the design parameters.

While some MPVs have a one-piece hull design, the M-3002 has two: one for the driver and commander behind the engine compartment, and the second for the troop compartment, which extends to the rear. The latter has firing ports, roof hatches, and the 10 troops can rapidly enter and leave the vehicle via one door in the rear. Bullet-proof windows are standard and the troop compartment has appliqué armour.

In addition to the baseline M-3002 in the troop carrier role, Excalibur Defense has also developed, to the prototype stage, a mine protected cargo carrier. This retains the fully protected two-person cab for the commander and driver, but to the rear is a flatbed unprotected cargo area, which can be fitted with drop sides and a tailgate.

Burleywood-class Mines Hunter Coastal (MHC)

The Burleywood-class Mines Hunter Coastal (MHC) have been built by Excalibur Defense (EXDEF) shipyards. The ships are constructed of non-magnetic steel.

The Burleywood-class MHC minehunter is equipped with the TitanFinder TF-456 mine countermeasures weapons system developed by EXDEF Electronics. The system comprises four main units: TF-456-78 minehunting sonar, TF-100/C2 Tactical Command and Documentation equipment, TF-100/Va6 precision navigation and tracking control system, and TF-100/S9 active identification sonar, which is installed in the mine disposal vehicle.

The ship has an anti-surface and anti-air 40mm gun which is capable of firing 330 rounds a minute. The Burleywoods is equipped with two GY-11 remotely operated vehicles. The vehicles are stored in the ship's hangar and are controlled via a recoverable 1,000m glass-fibre cable which carries television, sonar and operational data to the ship.

Sentinel-class oceanographic and research vessel

The Sentinel-class is an oceanographic and research vessel built by Stevencousin shipbuilding company Excalibur Defense (EXDEF) shipyards. Designed to perform oceanographic research activities in vast water in the fields of hydrography, biology, geology, oceanology, geophysics, and meteorology. In addition to the research missions, Sentinel can also be used in rescue, humanitarian and logistics support missions

The 105.3m-long and 18m-wide Sentinel oceanographic research vessel can carry 20 crew members and up to 60 scientists to conduct sampling and inspection of water and seabed. It is operated and controlled from the enclosed bridge, located amidships.

It accommodates scientific equipment storage warehouses, and laboratories for oceanographic and meteorological observations.

Fullmar & Vossbridge Dynamic Positioning (DP) and automation system placed in the bridge provides the vessel operators with enhanced situational awareness.
