Folks have got 7 days to save copies of anything important in there, and I imagine there are tools to facilitate saving entire threads off phpBB boards.

That's bullshit. Unlike those other idiotic "chill" threads, ours doesn't have anything obscene in them, and yet moderation assumes such because ours is under the same generalization as the other threads. I've put fucking hours into some of the posts on our thread, and yet it's still going to get auto-pruned because, oh, there might be something inappropriate in it. Glad to see all of my effort has been fucking wasted, and I'm also glad to see that moderation has decided to fuck us all over just because some dolts couldn't keep their dicks in their pants.
I thought I had reasons to hate this site's moderation before, but now it's just been reinforced.

The Wallaby hasn't required moderator involvement for most of its nearly 2 year existence (Besides the TG incident, which wasn't the fault of the thread itself. Or if CC was doing something while me or my co-ops weren't looking). Besides, 18 pages is nowhere near 'too much material'. You know we aren't the same group of morons who RP only for the sake of wank material, I'm sure unlike your grand TG investigation this won't make you want to gouge out your eyeballs.
I get you're trying to be "fair", but this is smacking of laziness.

Wait, I'm a bit confused. The link in the OP is 400+ pages. What thread are you referring to?

Unfortunately Reppy, as touched on in this thread, that's a lot easier to say than do. There's no easy export function, and you can't script or scrape anything on forum.nationstates.net . They could try saving individual pages for offline viewing, but at that point they might as well just save specific pertinent posts. While there are plenty of tools designed to let you have an offline copy of phpbb threads, as I understand it, every one I've seen would not be allowed by nationstates to be used on our forums.

I'll be damned. That actually happened.
Anyhow, why shut down the Wallaby and the National Hangout threads? The Wallaby has never had any PG13+ content and they actually self moderate better than most threads. The National Hangout thread is also clean (Except for mild suggestive talk between me and Azervia which I have stopped) and we also self moderate well. Only the primary and more popular Location Thread (The one made by Forsworn Knights) broke a few rules, and even then only 2 users did!
Even the temporary ban is incredibly draconic and unreasonable!

I mean the logic is basically "well warning the specific players and telling the community to shape up obviously didn't work, again, so what else can we do to take this up a level?" The mods can be draconic and unreasonable, if max condones it

Due to the nature of posts that led to the moratorium, we can't just archive them. As a compromise, I suggested copying them over to the evidence locker until they can be reviewed and then released back into the great white plains of Archives. Here are the threads:
Wallaby
National Hangout
Klub Kongo (archived)
NH is too large to copy, so it will have to be moved out of sight to the EL. I'll be doing that in the coming days.
Since I'm the dummy that came up with the solution, I'll primarily be doing the scanning. For Wallaby and Klub Kongo, that won't take long given the thread lengths. National Hangout may take a while so I appreciate your patience. I trained in TET. I am ready.

You are coming up with quite possibly the most elaborate '/notamod' sign offs this forum has ever seen.
And smallest.

Ay, this is on Lingria for not managing the threads at all after I retired, and on East/Mad for not controlling themselves. Dont pin this situation on my ass. The only LT I have had any administrative part in in the last several months was the failed Dorm reboot.
