Indeed. But it was really scary. What if those guys hadn't seen me?..

You're right, not even an experienced swimmer is safe. I learned how to swim all on my own, yet still I screwed up. v.v"

I think I saw a couple lifeguards before I got in. There's also a control tower or something, but no one came down. I guess with the number of people in the pool, it would be mighty difficult to spot me. I'm also pretty short, so...

Oh I didn't think about that. I was a ok swimmer before basic, but drown proofing made me a better one

Heheh. I was neglected quite a bit before I turned 13, then my family started treating me like a baby or something. Before that I learned about most things on my own, of course with some level of discretion.. >.<

The Internet is a great way of learning things on your own.

For better or worse...

I pretty much learned how to properly type from actually paying attention to people online that typed properly. I'm still not great, but eh.

We went into a wavepool and we got to the point where the waves made it deeper than I could stand, and I was not a big fan. It's not like I can't swim on some level, because I've swam in pools quite a lot, just...no. I'm still not comfortable if it is too deep.

Hey it worked. We had sink to the bottom and using both our feet push off the bottom of the pool and get to the surface. It was terrifying at first but sucks iT just sucks. Itnsucked even more when they activated the pumps to make waves

I guess the best way to master your fears IS to be forced into them head on. I agreed with my friend that "fears exist to be overcome" or whatever dramatic line he said to me one day, because I agree, but here I am cowering away from water deeper than I can stand :P

I will say that I can agree somewhat with facing fears, but like, in controlled situations. Not like, heading deep in to the wave pool and hoping you don't drown :P

I read a book once, and a character got over his fears of swimming by being dumped into the pool a couple dozen times and being forced to swim 50 meters.

IDK how that worked, but it worked.

Still a controlled situation, as in I'm sure the people who threw him in would have been making sure he didn't drown :P

Accepted!

Now, for joining, would your character go to a one of those "My parents are out of the house" teen parties? After I'm one with this nonsense, I'm going to finish typing up the post for that. Would be a good place to jump in if so.

Won't that be a tad bit dangerous. My characters will not get involved in such reckless acts and senseless endangerment.
