So you're proving a point by indulging in the activity you hate the World Assembly's acceptance of?

"No. I am laughing at a little joke: most people who vote on WA resolutions don't get as far as you do in reading them. Why not through in some random argument about the lack of Orange Julius, since most voters won't read it anyways?

"It is also a joke about the nations offering blind support because it repeals a resolution they don't like. They don't care that only most of the arguments are reasonable and one is sort of ridiculous, all they want is for a bad resolution to be repealed.

"Come on, you must admit it is quite amusing."

I hate to be that guy who takes what I do understand is a joke too seriously but if you're making fun of people who pass flawed resolutions that they didn't properly read by putting in unrelated content on purpose, you're kind of contributing to this World Assembly behavior. Obviously not as the voter, but as the person contributing flaws.

It's like to the people who crap on Wikipedia articles to prove their own beliefs about how flawed the articles are.

Why is not reading a resolution bad? Because it lets flaws through? Isn't that what this is doing? Letting a flaw, albeit one in jest, through?

"This confuses fault in its criticism. If the author leaves a flaw in a resolution, it is still the fault of the voters for passing it, regardless of the author's intention. The author still bears the fault of creating a deliberately flawed proposal, but the fault of voting it in is always with the voter base."

Of course it is. It would also be in the author here. I'm not sure we're disagreeing?

"I agree. If ms. Schultz is aware that the voters will not read the resolution (I actually do not think this is true and would not be surprised if this repeal fails), and she proceeds with the joke anyway, then she is equally culpable. If we assume the voters refusing to read a resolution is a constant, then ms. Schultz is the only one with any real agency in this situation."

First the first question lead into the other point so I wasn't legitimately wondering why not reading is bad.

Second, though again I know it's a joke, it contributes diddly to the intended purpose behind the repeal or the repeal itself and kind of undermines said purpose as a result of awkwardly sticking out. I think that falls under flaw.

If this resolution reaches quorum and passes, it will finally plainly reveal the fact that the majority of WA delegates and members really do not read resolutions. The World Assembly's history is simply one of a constant cycle of the passage of resolutions, followed by the almost immediate repeal in a borderline neurotic manner. If member nations would read these resolutions, and make informed voting decisions, the number of repeals that occur would drop significantly.

Schultz displays photocopies of a screenshot of her datatab, which reveals an interstelegram sent to her by the representative of the target's author.

The World Assembly's history is simply one of a constant cycle of the passage of resolutions, followed by the almost immediate repeal in a borderline neurotic manner.

"That's a gross exaggeration, as there are over a hundred unrepealed resolutions on the books today."

If member nations would read these resolutions, and make informed voting decisions, the number of repeals that occur would drop significantly.

"Correct, if only because the repeals would not be necessary as often."

I originally thought this bill was great, I was extremely excited to contribute to the international community, but not sure how. After weeks of criticism and swallowing my pride... anyway I understand the concerns and it seems your right. I just hope that I can redeem myself in later proposals. I didn't take down my proposal because I wanted the WA community to decide, however I have now realized that lemmings may play to large a role in the voting process, and that may account for the support of my proposal.
