The Puma 4x4 armored reconnaissance vehicle was developed by the Atokian Atok Aerospace. Development inaugurated in 2013. This vehicle was developed as a private venture. The Puma was first announced in 2015. It is proposed as a replacement for the ageing GI-81A Excalibur Wolf scout vehicle. Peculiar feature of the Puma is that it lacks side doors. Crew and scouts enter and leave the vehicle via rear doors or roof hatches. The Puma has a crew of about 3 men and can carry about 5 scouts.
Hull of the vehicle is of welded steel structure. Armor of the Puma provides all-round protection against the 7.62x39-mm armor-piercing rounds. Add-on armor can be fitted. This armored vehicle can be suited with various remotely controlled weapons and specialized reconnaissance equipment. Vehicle is likely to be fitted with NBC protection and automatic fire suppression equipment.
Vehicle is powered by an AAe Vornet H765-F turbocharged diesel engine, generating 285 hp. It is a commercially available truck engine. Its availability lessens the price of the vehicle and simplifies maintenance. Engine is stood in the middle of the hull, behind the driving compartment. It drives all four wheels.
The Puma is fully amphibious. On water it is propelled by two water jets. Amphibious speed on water is about 10 km/h.
The Sharp-Eye™ Recon Package System
The Sharp-Eye™ multi-sensor system packs latest generation Forward-Looking Infrared (FLIR) sensor, a Global Positioning System interferometer, an eye-safe laser rangefinder and a Day TV (DTV) camera. This integrated sensor suite enables scouts elements to detect, recognize, and identify and geo-locate distant targets while left behind outside the threat's acquisition and engagement envelope. The Sharp-Eye™ Systems are design to integrate with Puma 4x4 recon armored vehicles. It can also be dismounted on a tripod.
Sharp-Eye™ also can linking with most of UAV system worldwide.
