Nation/Faction name: Ethian Fedederation
Race(s): Established by Men, with some other races
Patron God(s): Worships multiple Gods equally
Current Leader(s): Emperor Titus Vidixus II
Brief History:
Thousands of years ago, during the height of the Kingdom of Shar. During this period, there were many Humans who shunned the ignorance of the other Humans, and the other races, specifically how most culture revolved around selfless worship of ungrateful Gods, and wanted to focus on logic and reason. These men, who became known as the Reformists, spread their ideology across the continent, but were subsequently punished for their actions against the Gods. Because of this, harsh prosecution became a way of life that the Reformists couldn't bear. It wasn't long before they fled from the continent altogether to escape oppression, and settled in what they called Ethium-- a large, cold island to the north.

Because of the bitter cold which wiped out early settlements, the Ethians decided to try something no one before had ever attempted: underground cities. The settlers of Ethium built their cities into the massive mountains, deep underground in the most ambitious and revolutionary styles ever attempted. Over the years, the Ethian focus on logic and reason would pay off, and they would begin to get a grasp on steam. Using revolutionary new steam systems from the planet's natural heat, Ethian cities were warm, cozy places. The Ethian people never again suffered from terrible snow storms, for they were safe in their "sunless cities". As time went on, their isolation would come to their benefit, for war was not a problem. Within a few centuries, the Ethians became masters of architecture, had mastered the forge, alchemy, and had an intense grasp of magic. Ethian Weapons and Armor was some of the most well-done and effective to ever be created.

In modern times, Ethium is a beacon of intellect, logic, and understanding that only a handful of people have come to appreciate. Some of the most accomplished scholars were either raised or schooled in Ethium. However, Ethium is also heavily shunned by those who ignorantly cling to their Gods.

Geographical area and key features: Because of the cold, harsh landscape of Ethium, the Federation's cities are built underground, mainly into mountains.
Map Claim: Top left island
Other details:

Ethium has little need for a large military, but it keeps a standing army of about 100,000 Soldiers. Ethian Soldiers are trained in the art of warfare very effectively, and most are trained to use basic magic, though most who join have a substantial grasp of magic. Ethium is a Federation of states and cities, led by a Chancellor and the Senate. In Ethium, the people do have many social and political freedoms, such as the Freedom of Speech, religion, and the right to Bear Arms. (Other stuff will be in the IC)

I took them out since I got the impression that Kuhl wanted them as a plot device - but I have no idea how to use them. That's not to say that there can't be dragons, just that I haven't yet figured out a way to make them as intrinsic to the world as they were originally meant to be.

While the app is technically all good, it gives me the feel of belonging more to either the Tech God or the Earth God than a God of Hunting or Strategy. Although you balance that out by having them worship multiple Gods similarly ;) Still, before I give it the green stamp I'd appreciate it if you could just get the go-ahead from Vicavian and Illan - in case any toes would otherwise end up being stepped on.

The NAR wrote:God's Name: Ashur

God's Divine Form:
(Image)
(Image)
Ascher is usually seen wearing Steel Armor with wolf pelts and two Grey Wolf Companions and a few dogs and cats. He carries the Sword of the Moon, which when used on a Mortal or Monster, carries their soul into Ascher's personal plane, Elysium. However, his TRUE form is the infamous Werewolf..
God's Mortal Form:
When appearing to Mortals, he usually appears as an Animal, most commonly a Wolf, a Dog, a Cat, or a bird.
God's Bio: Ashur is the God who cultivated the art of hunting and of domestication of animals. He is also the God of strategy. Ashur spends most of his time watching and examining the Mortals as animals, and enjoys hunting with Mortals, as well as participating in their wars (though, they aren't aware of his Godhood). Though Ashur spends most of his time on the Earth Plane, he spends time in his own personal realm known as Elysium, a place that is seen differently to many different people. Those who worship Ashur are rewarded in the afterlife by being granted a new life in Elysium, which is a peaceful place of majestic beauty and luxury. In Elysium, the Elysian may choose the form of any animal they choose, or keep a Mortal form. They may change at will, and they live in peace for all of eternity under the kind and watchful eye of Ashur. However, to those who betray or abuse animals or disgrace the human name and Morals, a death at the hands of Ashur means eternity of serving as a mere animal to be hunted in the fields of Elysium.

EXTRA- The Black Hand: The Black Hand is a shadowy group of Mortals who dedicate their lives to the worship of Ashur. Years of hunting, of loyalty and of Military Experience gain a Mortal entry into the Black Hand, which is deemed evil by many. However, the Black Hand has had their hand in every major event that occurred, and will until the end of time. The Hand contains the ability to take the form of Ashur himself, of the Werewolf. This gift is known as "The Blessing of the Hunt". Members with this ability use it to purge their inner desires, and give them an edge in the Hunt, as well as a tool of war. There is, however, a very decisive difference between Werewolves and Ashur himself....

Accepted ;) But could you just merge them into a single complete app so I can link it to the OP?

Brief History: Since any living creature has ever existed the Sons of Horus have existed to ferry souls to there final resting place. It started with humans and there short lifespan, later it would go on to encompass the goblins, the orcs, merpeople, ents, and even elves. Nothing is immune to death, not all accept it. The Sons of Horus are grave keepers, they Honor the dead and are heralds of respect. They ensure the bodies are preserved peacefully to that nations customes. The sons of Horus commit the bodies soul in death based on there dreads to Horus for there final judgement.

The Sons have always existed and unlike the name implies it allows women as well, death knows no gender all are equal in death. It is the great equalizer, the sons of Horus can be found anywhere there is a cemetery, in every major, minor or anything between if there are people who die the Sons of Horus will not be far behind. However unlike most the sons ask if they wil be allowed to preserve the dead, they assure the city and occupants that is its a way to honor he dead not betray there God, Horus as they portray him is simply the bridge into the next world that all must pass through to reach the resting place there God has designed for them.

The sons of Horus who have accepted the deal of there God are immune to the effects of the world. They are immune to starvation, to thirst, to some it is the ultimate escape form death himself, to work for him. However one must first prove himself worth to earn the title of herald of Horus. The Ferry men or as many have come to call them The Eight, consisting of every race free of prejudice and willing to bury the dead of any of there brothers or sister there can be no intolerance in death. All are made one, in this way the eternal cycle continues and the dead are honored.

The sons of Horus as well are able to summon his servants to protect themselves. Even if it is not needed it's often used to silence non-believers. The Sons would never attack openly but will not hesitate if continually threatened. There motto, "Let us enter unto the gate of our lord, and meet the fates of our makers whole and pure." This is in transition from life to death cleansing the body for burial, cremation, or however the race decides to honor there dead.
Geographical area and key features: Can be found all over often in creepy forests and especially cemeteries or burial tombs anything used to bury the dead
Map Claim: some place with a spooky wood with dead trees everywhere, either that or some place near a volcano. I'm the end it's not a military structure so they don't really have a border
Other details: the structure of the government goes like this
Herald of the Lord- the top of the food chain these are the Eight divine one from each race, they go about blessing lands and generally ferrying souls often millions as a time to the underworld or Krazura which in the language of the divine means "Last steps" and we'll often say your going to your Krazura or your last steps. These men or women control all members of there races cemeteries. They also receive orders from Horus himself as to what to do or where to go.

Prohet of the Dead- the second in command unlike the Heralds they are stationary taking control of a single Cemetary and overseeing it making sure all the bodies are kept in good condition, or if they where cremated that the ash is kept dry that sort of thing. They also preach about what has happen to there relatives and how if they have obeyed there gods moral code then he will allow them to pass one of the eight gates he controls. These gates allow the good to pass throught while the evil are tortured for all eternity.

The Lords acolytes- Learned scholars these are the ones who study to become prohets, they can be found doing more manual labor like moving dead bodies around here or there and keeping things running they do there share, but they are not grunts and are not to be confused with repenters.

Repeaters- Servents of the Cemetary or church or whatever is in the region these are normally criminals who want to make sure they aren't left behind and tortured when they die. These men and women are the Grunts who do all of the back breaking labour around the Cemetary, digging and filling holes, changing pots, ect. This as well as what there patron God commands to enter into there realm once they die.

Interesting culture: The sons of hours are equal opportunity anyone can join of any race of any gender, "Death knowns no gender nor race and all must come into his warm embrace" as some scholars will quote from the Lord book of the dead. As well most who join the ranks of the Sons tend to be wizards or other magically enclined indivuals hoping to learn necromancy, most learn very quickly that it only upset there God and they are swiftly punished. Those who receive the blessings of Horus can expect a very very long and very prosperous life.

Is it ok if I add more later this is basically the gist of it all

Accepted. I know you're aware that this could be OP if done incorrectly, so I expect that you'll do it justice :)

Illan wrote:Nation Name: Illan

Deity Name: Arkahmis, the Sentinel of the Earth

Generation: First Generation

Domain of Power: Earth and Fortitude

Persona: A wise and almost ironically soft spoken god, Arkahmis tends to be quite different than what many perceive one who shapes the earth and flings boulders at will. One can describe him as a quiet and caring father, who orchestrates many things subtly, or some may say he's incredibly protective of those he wards over. Both are true of Arkahmis's person; he cares for the world of Drinda and its denizens, regardless of their disposition. Seeing as many mortals "come from the earth and to the earth they will return" (a common mantra that Arkahmis favors in his elaborate philosophies), he emphasizes that we all are together in some way on this, and that we all, quite literally, share common ground in some manner. Thus, many of his outreaches to mortals are in peaceful manners as opposed to violent and destructive, and tries to turn his possibly cataclysmic powers into ones that may be used for good and the development of life on Drinda. However, should he be threatened in any manner where his typical mannerisms does not resolve it properly, he can and will strike down his foes with force befitting an Ichor of his properties.

Mortal Appearance: He appears as a humanoid figure with dark stone-gray skin and a set of horns and facial structure similar to this, including pointed ears (minus the piercings) and with a face instead like this (once again, without the piercings and instead give him deel black hair) with the horns of the other picture. As for his rocky skin, think something like this, which covers his forearms, chest, and will cover his lower legs, from the calves down. They can alter to be any mineral/metal of the earth. His outfit is rather skin to this, without the hood or eye-wrapping.

Gender: Male

Symbol of Power: An iconic mountain with crystals sprouting behind it, along with magma and lava flowing in front of it.

Blessed Animal Minerals:

As opposed to animals being blessed with his divinity, Arkahmis instead imbues a number of exceptional minerals in the earth of Drinda with his blessings, which are all excellent in their own way. These are, in order from most common to rarest: Naravium, an almost pinkish glowing crystalline mineral; Illuvium, a clear crystal-like mineral that glows bright with nearly every color out there, and is said to illuminate even the deepest darkness; Harkonnys, a natural hard yet incredibly useful metal which is said to be more versatile and as strong as steel, that can be used to shape many things when put under heat; Aulanium, a precious metal that shines a bright silver occasionally....and a bright gold some other times, especially prized by jewelry enthusiasts; and lastly, Arkahnium, possibly the strongest and most resistant mineral in the earth, it is a firm black substance born from Arkahmis's own fortitude itself - it is unwavering and cannot be shaped sparsely by anybody the god himself, and very few other skilled individuals.

Divine weapon: The Hands of the World, as Arkahmis calls them - they are his own two fists. Able to be cloaked every mineral, metal, rock, and stone that exists in this world, Arkahmis's own body is a weapon of its own. It typically serves as a bludgeon or pointed spear, however, as it is difficult to shape stone and mineral into a blade.

Did you read the rules?: Yessir!

The Black Hand believes in the worship of Ashur, the God of the Hunt, and the idea that if you dedicate your life to Ashur as a mortal, you are guaranteed eternal life in Elysium: the Divine Plane of Ashur. It is also believed that the most dedicated and respected members of the Black Hand are given the Blessing of the Hunt: the ability to transform into Ashur's Divine Form: the Werewolf.
Geographical area and key features: N/A, the Black Hand exist everywhere
Map Claim: N/A
Other details:

The Black Hand consists of an estimated 7,000 members worldwide, most of which have the Blessing of the Hunt. It is led directly by Archwolf Elynheart, but also by the Inner Council. The Black Hand is infamous for their "meddling" in world affairs, especially when they instigate conflicts.

Their minds quickly deteriorated and they came under their masters complete control. Disguising themselves they forced anyone they found to join them under there masters control. The religion spread to zarvonus where Marús infiltrated the kings castle disguised as a priest. He took control of the queen then princess and made her kill her father and siblings. Map Claim: The largest island out of those three in the bottom right
Other details: the cult acts as law there. Everyone follows its teachings and worships Marús. The culture is Chaos. Everything is allowed as long as the queen does not act against it and it goes with the cults teachings

Derpity, derp, derp. Missed this.

Alright, so Anarchy is fine but I'd need an explanation for 'Chaos' (extra caution since 'Chaos' is one of the Primordial Forces, which cannot be controlled by a God - yet at least) or an alternative. As for the Cult, while the general idea is fine, Marius cannot have mind controlled the wider population (would need too much power) - so just the royals and then dominating the kingdom through them, perhaps? On that note, the mind control doesn't fit with the domains as is terribly well. Not saying that I won't allow it, but if you end up changing 'Chaos', something that better accomodates it would be appreciated.

Finally, for the claim, the three islands have already been taken by Faal. Maybe you two could talk about splitting them? Tbh, just one of those is enough for a sizable nation - especially for homogenous ones like the Mahlaan and the Cult. :)

The NAR wrote:Nation/Faction name: Ethian Empire

Ethium is an Empire, led by an Emperor and the Senate. In the Empire, the people do have many social and political freedoms, such as the Freedom of Speech, religion, and the right to Bear Arms. (Other stuff will be in the IC)

Basically, using the natural heat from the Earth (and the volcano on Ethium I failed to mention) generates the heat, which is compressed in the proper way to create steam, which heats the cities and also powers many functions within the cities

Nation/Faction name: Cult of Chaos/ the kingdom of Zarvonus
Race(s): all of them except for ents
Patron God(s): (May be none)Marús
Current Leader(s): Queen Virona
Brief History: The cult began when a few unfortunate orcs accidentally took Marús for a good god when he visited them and began to worship him. He then forth ruled through her and conquered the rest of Zarvonus through her. She is now a figure head concubine, Slave to Marús with no mind at all. The entire island now serves Marús and his Chaos pantheon
Geographical area and key features: Flat island with one mountain inhabited by Chaos drunk dwarves. Mostly forested except for new Saron The cults home city.

Can I change Chaos to terror. Also what part of the map is free. When I wrote that it was meant to be some effects of the rulers mind control rubbing off on general populous

Terror or Fear would be perfect. As for the mind control, my desire to limit it to the royals is really a knock-on from having mortal factions and Gods both in the RP - need to make it so that a God can't just brush aside a nation in a moment. I'm trying to get it so that the Gods need to use mortals as instruments of their will to really gain some traction, i.e. in your case, control some Royals who in turn use their own influence to control the population and enforce the teachings of the Cult.

No IC yet, so just post up an edited app and check out the interactive map on the OP to see if anything suits your claim (There are free islands, but they're too large to be claimed in their entirety by a single nation).

Edit: In lieu of the NAR's app, figured it was high time that I made it official that the Ichor can create 'realms' for themselves and the souls of their most devout followers (note that the realms themselves are essentially manifestations of the Gods so aren't actually really there per se, hence you can't have worshippers mine a realm for resources or some-such :P). A realm can take the form of anything an Ichor desires, from a single Temple/Palace-like structure to practically their own miniature kingdom (keyword being miniature). Most realms have no influence on the mortal plane, with an exception likely to be that of the God of the Dead (I presume, potentially). Consider the realms to be the 'home' of an Ichor. Heck, you don't even need one if you don't want one.

Also, I wanted to open discussion on the Afterlife of this world. I've been chatting to New Strausberg about it briefly via TG but I wanted to get some wider feedback as well. My current thought is that the souls of the Dead usually make their way to the Underworld where Horus acts as a kind of Judge, and watches over the vast majority of them. Those that he deems to have be deserving of punishment are sent to Jileli for their dues. Exceptions to this normal process are the especially devout worshippers of particular Ichor (priests, demigods, prophets, etc) whose souls belong to their respective patrons and don't come under Horus' jurisdiction. Thoughts?

that seems sketchy, what kind of functions.
if its mechanical functions then i'm okay with it

I'll add it to the list, but I don't think Illan's been able to take a look at it (at the very least you'll probably have to take out the line indicating that they're the only ones with underground cities).
