SHADY is solely for file and information sharing. It is an ad-hoc item, pretty much like a gigantic Lime Wire. Also, it's much faster to load! On what was 56kbs dialup Internet cables, SHADY goes well over 100mbs on the exact same infrastructure.


The Internet was banned on the grounds of morality and counter-terrorism, not government stability or squaushing knowledge. Too many creatures had been scarred by porn or poisoned with swear words to allow the Internet to exist in TurtleShroom. Too many terrorists hijack our nation's computers and such to allow for access. Too many enemies gather military secrets on secure military servers.

The Internet in TurtleShroom was loose and only available to mega cities. Only 22% of the population had Internet access, while 69% had a computer! The Internet was a waste of money to maintain. The infrastructure was simply copper wire strung on existing telephone cables, creating a frequently crashing and painfully slow 56kbs dial-up system. Who needs it?


As for morality, we had two options. Ban the Internet, or monitor everyone's online activities to stop porn. In the name of civil rights, we chose the former! What kind of nation snoops on its populace every single waking moment?

Concerning net neutrality, Living Freedom Land is happy to point out that it does not engage in the statist practice that infringes on the rights of Living Freedom Landers. Net neutrality, in most cases, is just a ruse to assert more government control over the internet. In other cases, it can't possibly be helpful. By making a corporation devote all their bandwidth equally, more popular sites are slower and very unpopular sites will be fast because nobody gets on them.

The way we see it, the internet is a big money maker as it is, so why change a great formula one can co-opt? Most all corporations give uncensored feeds, except for the few companies that cater to the crowd that wants to block their children from viewing questionable content.

Besides, who are we to tell people what to do with their private property and in voluntary association?

Use every excuse you must. To a competent police force, no case is truly impossible.

Regarding job loss, a policeman is not forced to resign for not being able to solve a case. He is forced to resign when he refuses to work one because of his personal biases. He is offered a chance to resign quietly, but if he refuses he faces the very real possibility of being fired. The law is not about being fair, or about giving people "what they deserve" in some way. It is about justice.
