Yes, I think so.

You could do one word, if you truly wish. Although, take a look at Eurovision, take a look at the current hits and such. How many contain only 118 words (honestly, I never counted but I would assume that it'd be more, unless you're looking at a repetitive rap song or such)?

Don't forget that, in 1995, Norway won the Eurovision with a song that had 25 words; if I can remember correctly, it was going to be an instrumental but, since that wasn't allowed, they decided to add some words. In 1983, Belgium's entry was just the phrase "Rendez-vous / Maar de mat is vol en m'n kop is toe" ("Rendezvous / But that's the limit and I clam up") being repeated or partially repeated. And Finland's 1998 entry - which, to be brutally honest, wins the Yeezus Award for Most Pretentious Entry - is just six words over and over again: "Aava", "maa", "avara", "kauneas", "suuruus" and "Isa". Irrelevant, I know, but still it's to show that there isn't really a limit in the real Eurovision Song Contest either.

Says the person wondering why I was bringing math into WorldVision ;)

Okay but blatantly putting a math equation (with numbers) in regular dialogue is different than quoting a math-related phrase in one of the most quotable movies of all time ;)

Also when it comes to which language to use in a song, perhaps playing with numbers (tá an punt atá beartaithe) might hit home with voters as math is the same in every country ;) ;) ;)

Keep in mind that you may have to write more lyrics than usual. I did not manage to finish my lyrics in WV23, based on Empire State of Mind but I got away with it

The Official bid portfolio for the city of Rokkestaat.

In the latter stages of WorldVision 37, the city of Rokkestaat proposed a bid to the STE (Serva Televisie Ekoeses) in regards to hosting the WorldVision Song Contest in Ekoz's southernmost city. Originally planned to bid for the 38th edition, senior executives of the STE decided that Ekoz, having previously hosted the contest in Carnise, would not be able to deliver the type of contest that the STE wanted. Hense, WorldVision 40.

The STE, along with Rokkestaat City Council decided that WorldVision Forty would be a suitable contest to bid for. The fortieth edition of the contest recognises a milestone in terms of the aim of the WorldVision Song Contest; for forty editions, nations from around the world have come together regardless of political ties/aims and united through the medium of music. The STE insisted that if Rokkestaat were to host the contest, the message and reasons behind hosting would not be just for Rokkestaats/Ekoz's finincial and universal gain. Thus, the slogan 'Out of this World was created.

Ekoz has participated within the contest for eight editions and is by no means a veteran to the contest, however, the STE understands the rapid growth of the contest, both in Ekoz where apart from the Ekozian National Final, Ekoes Soekke vor Winnaar, WorldVision remains the most watched television program, with a viewership of around 89% of the population, but also globally. Each edition, the contest welcomes debutante nations with open arms and the STE decided to use this as a theme. With the 40th edition representing a new era for the contest, the STE saw fit that the contest should be, pardon the pun, out of this world.

Where would the contest be held?
Image

Rokkestaat Stadion is a brand new, state-of-the-art stadium home to both Rokkestaat FC and Rokkestaat Rugby Association. Fortunately, sport seasons within Ekoz are not at their peaks until September, thus, the stadium will be free to use. The stadium has a capacity of 87,000 however for the contest there will be 35,000 seats, and a standing area of a capacity for 5000. If Rokkestaat is successful in it's bid, building work would begin immediately after the announcement to ensure time for delegations of each nations to have a view of the stadium, stage, and venue to ensure their performances are the best they can possibly be.
Image
Furthermore, with an estimated four-day time period to build the stage and venue inside the stadium, this leads to more rehearsal time for each nation. Each nation is expected to have a total time of 8 hours over a period of two-three weeks. Should an issue arise in regards to rehearsal times, the STE has coordinated with Rokkestaat Concert Arena; a makeshift replica of the stage at Rokkestaat will also be constructed at the Arena to ensure that each nation has an efficient amount of time.

What will the venue look like on the Grand Final night?
Image

Inside the Rokkestaatstadion, visible above, the stage will be placed to the back of the stadium to allow a maximum amount of space availabe for the huge 35 meter LED background, along with lightbulbs around the stage. The stage will be built to cater to all of the usual WorldVision performances, with fireworks, pyrotechnics, water, fire etc. Furthermore, the circular area of the stage will be able to rise to a height of 5 meters. There will be three zones within the immediate audience sections by the stage, catering for press and two areas either side for VIP's and VIP ticket holders. Pyrotechnics will be able to circulate the entire inside of the arena, in particular in opening the contest, and closing the voting.

Image

The GreenRoom and Press Area, although sectioned off, will be within the same area. Inside will include a 5* Ekozian catering service, a free bar for participants/delegates and over 350 temporary restrooms. Due to laws in Ekoz, all restrooms are unisex so please, be respectful to all whilst within these facilities. The design of the GreenRoom features flags (see above) of all nations, past and present that have taken part within the contest. The STE found it vital to include past nations within the design of the green room to commemorate how WorldVision has evolved, with every nation playing a vital part in it's rapid evolution.

Will there be any hosts?
Image

Yohanna van Umsaak, former WorldVision participant of whom is responsible for Ekoz's highest placing will host the contest. Yohanna is deemed to be one of Ekoz's biggest and most exported stars thus Yohanna was of course the most sensible option. Furthermore, Yohanna understands the WorldVision process and has already began rehearsals for the show regardless of the fact Rokkestaat may not actually gain the rights to host the Contest, but Ekozian's are always prepared...

Will there be an opening/interval act?
Image

Of course. The STE is currently working with a particular artist in terms of the opening ceremony and is keeping tight-lipped about who the artist is.

The STE announced that the interval act will be the winner of the anniversary special WorldVision: The 'Best Of' Edition. It was important for the STE to work closely with the 'best Of' edition to provide maximum exposure and also to correlate with the anniversary celebrations.

Where can the participants/tourists stay?

Image

The Rokkestaat City Council in 2009 announced plans to build a brand new complex of apartments called 'Onaarhoes Village'. Each block features a gym, swimming pool and communal area. These apartments, although not purpose built, will be housing all delegates and participants of the Contest as well as an opportunity for over 9,000 tourists to stay in these apartments, thus, creating a complete WorldVision village. The Village aims to create an exciting and electric atmosphere throughout the time that the Contest will be held. The integration of both the participants and the fans of the contest will allow a unique experience for both creating a once-in-a-lifetime experience within the Village. Location-wise, the Rokkestaatstadion is less than 9km away from the WorldVision Village and 15km from the city centre of Rokkestaat. Rokkestaat City Council have agreed with Rokkestaatbus and the Rokkestaat Metro to waver all fees for travel for ticket and pass holders of the Contest, allowing free travel throughout Rokkestaat.

How can I get to Rokkestaat?

Image

Rokkestaat International Aiport is less than 15km from the WorldVision Village and is relatively easy to travel back and forth. The Rokkestaat City Council has instated a 2 week shuttle bus and train directly to the venue and the WorldVision village. However, Rokkestaat Metro can get you to both within around 10 minutes, with services running every 5-10 minutes. During the contest however, the Metro, Overground and Bus services will be particularly busy, so both the STE and Rokkestaat City Council advise you take precautions whilst travelling.

What will the contest look like?

Image

The on-screen view of the Contest will be nation related. Within the above example, the colours of the logo of the contest will represent the nation on stage at the time which of course, is yellow for Ekoz. The STE found it important to make sure each nation is represented to the best of the STE's ability, thus, whilst the postcard ends, the entire lighting of the stadium will light up with the colours of the nation just before the performer starts their song.

The Postcards

Image

Image

Image

The STE's initial idea in regards to the contest and the contest's theme were to, similar to the Apollo landing on the moon, have a spaceman with a flag of the nation performing, however, as Ekoz hasn't actually placed a human being on the moon, it's relevancy to Ekoz wasn't deemed appropriate. Thus, the postcards will be an exact representation of the Contest's logo, with each nations flag placed in the centre of the logo, with the nations' name underneath. The artist behind the idea Simonn van de Goerdt stated "it is important to use the theme of the contest within every aspect of the graphics. To completely override the logo and feature the flags of each nation as a postcard is cost-effective, and ties in with the theme"

Image

Furthermore, the artwork for the Official WorldVision Song Contest will be exactly the same as the logo of the Contest. This ensures that the brand of WorldVision is remained allowing an ultimate opportunity for the WorldVision brand to prosper in terms of sales of singles/albums/dvd's. None of the proceeds made from the iTunes, Amazon and other physical sales will go directly to the WorldVision Committee Corportation and not the STE. The official artwork can be seen below..

Image

How can I get involved with the 40th contest?
Image

The STE's main priority in regards to the fortieth edition is to be creative in the way the tourist and fans from around the world can get involved with the contest. Ekozian app makers, Appskør (creator of the Official Rokkestaat app) have, along with the STE announced that every 1000th person that downloads the app will receive free tickets, accomodation and travel to the contest for the duration of the contest, thus giving the opportunity for fans who otherwise wouldn't have the chance to travel to Rokkestaat for the fortieth edition. The app will consist of profiles of each nation and performer, minutely updates on what is going on with the contest, and each downloadee will be able to vote for their favourite on the night of the contest and effect the final result. Each downloadee will be given 5 free votes and will be able to purchase votes at a rate of 0,65GE, or around $0.40/£.0.70

Image

Furthermore, the STE will work with each broadcaster of each participant to work together to run a competition for members of the general public to announce their nations vote. The STE has announced that this will not be a compulsory thing, and nations will be able to choose whomever they chose, however nations are free to also join in with the competition in each of their respective nations. Confirmed nations taking part thus far are of course the STE for Ekoz, Chameliyan broadcaster CháReTe and MilTV for FEC Milea.

Out of this World.

In an unprecedented series of negotiations, Kishrael is back to celebrate the 40th anniversary as one of WorldVision's most successful participants. The Jewish Council, along with the Balansiyyan government have come to an agreement whereby Kishrael can enter the WorldVision Song Contest - it is unsure whether this arrangement will be continuous or just a one off, but many would imagine it would hinge on the results of the Kishraeli delegation. Kdam-WorldVision has returned to screens in an effort to find Kishrael's next WorldVision representative. In a contest that has launched the careers of the likes of Tabitha Shamaimah and Channah Avitan, twelve artists will compete for the right to represent their country on the biggest world stage open to singers around the globe. This year will be different however, as four WorldVision legends, as well as six well-known Kishraeli musicians will compete. They will be joined by two unknown wildcard entries (marked with a (w) next to their name). So, with that, let Kdam-WorldVision begin!
