Atheism is the active disbelief in God, which is just as unprovable as the belief in God.

"The Nixon campaign in 1968, and the Nixon White House after that, had two enemies: the antiwar left and black people. You understand what I'm saying? We knew we couldn't make it illegal to be either against the war or black, but by getting the public to associate the hippies with marijuana and blacks with heroin, and then criminalizing both heavily, we could disrupt those communities. We could arrest their leaders. raid their homes, break up their meetings, and vilify them night after night on the evening news. Did we know we were lying about the drugs? Of course we did."—former Nixon domestic policy chief John Ehrlichman

*sigh*

As a devout Catholic, I strongly disagree. Everyone should be allowed to choose their faith, no matter how wrong it is. Although there are ignorant Atheists, there are also ignorant theists, therefore it is and always will be pointless to discriminate a group because of a few people. However, I do agree with you that science and religion can coexist.

An extremely bad if not stupid idea.

If you allow Religion to ban something for society; then they will start banning other things. Once people start ignoring the bans; then then the call for punishments start.

Rule is simple. If you don't like it, don't pay attention to it.

You know what, how about we just believe what we want to believe. I mean, banning atheism, or any religion at all; not going to do anything! You cannot control another person's beliefs and such, and if they don't believe in something, they don't believe in it, so accept the facts! You can't restrict someone's thoughts about anything! Just let people believe what they want to believe.
And if they contradict your beliefs, just ignore them. It's their opinions on a subject, and you can't change that, but neither can they change yours.
