Welcome to the 70th World Cup, being hosted by the Equestrian States and San José Guayabal with additional administrative support provided by Felix and Mizuyuki!

For the second time in just four years (under the local calendar) the Equestrian States will welcome the multiverse's very best "hoofballers" to its shores to contest the most sought-after prizes in all sports. Although the Ponies might not be as highly-ranked as they were the last time the World Cup was held in the North Pony Lands nation, the local supporters remain as optimistic as ever and are eager to see the return of top-notch competition to the Equestrian States. With one of the world's most stunningly beautiful environments, stadiums that are cathedrals of hoofball, and a populace that routinely and cheerfully welcomes visitors from throughout the multiverse to their country, it's hardly surprising that the Equestrian States has yet again been chosen to host the world's most prestigious tournament's final stages.

Although San José Guayabal may not be as well-known as the Equestrian States when it comes to hosting major international tournaments, the Guayabalense have established themselves as a welcoming and friendly people in their own right in a relatively short span of time. Still somewhat recovering from a civil war that brought about the end of a brutal communist regime, the locals have preserved through the challenges and have quickly mended much of the damage caused by the conflict. With San José Guayabal a peaceful nation once again, the Guayabalense are eager to show the multiverse just how far they've come since emerging from Esportiva not so long ago and will be delighted at the opportunity to do so in front of the international audience at the World Cup.

Throughout the two host nations, preparations are being made for the celebration of sport that will be the platinum edition of the World Cup; but before the multiverse's most captivating show can get underway, 30 more teams must earn their place in the tournament. The start of World Cup Qualifying is drawing near, and 171 nations will be vying for those coveted spots in the Equestrian States and San José Guayabal.

We'll be adding information regarding the schedule, group draws, and anything else we deem necessary to this post as the tournament progresses.

Introduction

The Pony Republic of Equestrian States is a diverse country inhabited by several dozen sapient species, each contributing to the nation's proud culture of tolerance and giving the Equestrian States a reputation of compassion and kindness. Tradition and innovation have combined well in this North Pony Lands nation, rapidly bringing it into the modern world after centuries of self-imposed isolation from the rest of the multiverse. This Lonely Multiverse travel guide is designed to be the ultimate companion for any tourist (regardless of his/her species) visiting the Equestrian States, and is loaded with every tip and bit of advice one needs to have an safe and enjoyable stay.

History

Originally colonized by sapient equines (commonly referred to as ponies) from Magical Equestria over 2000 years ago, the Equestrian States was first established as a largely-autonomous overseas territory of its motherland. As a colony, the Equestrian States was fairly prosperous, developing a matriarchal society similar to that of Magical Equestria and other prominent Pony Lands nations. Several decades after the first ponies set hoof on the islands now part of the Equestrian States, however, the rise of a mysterious and chaotic entity known as Discord led to the government of the growing colony to adopt strict isolationist policies to avoid attracting the attention of Discord.

Several centuries later, the anarchic reign of Discord in the Pony Lands came to an end, though the Equestrian States remained firmly entrenched in its isolationist policies. Having formally declared its independence from Magical Equestria during the rule of Discord, the Equestrian States was reluctant to turn away from the policies which had allowed it to escape the turmoil faced by the rest of the region. Yet another cataclysmic event, just over a millennia ago, saw the known world embroiled in conflict with itself and the fledgling former colony sunk deeper into isolation for the next several centuries.

However, about 200 years ago, the long-standing policies separating the Equestrian States from the rest of the region gradually began to erode with the rapid growth of international maritime trade. Though it would take until just 50 years ago for the remaining isolationist policies to be overturned or made obsolete, foreigners began to take note of the Equestrian States and its northern location in the Pony Lands. What finally drove the ponies of the Equestrian States to abandon isolationism entirely was commerce, with the nation's location being perfect as a refueling and stopping point for ships traveling from outside the Pony Lands.

Active membership in the Coalition of Ponyist States (a military, economic, and political alliance famed for its quick, efficient, and merciless dealings with nations actively persecuting sapient equines and other non-humans) gave the Equestrian States reason to become heavily involved in international politics and trade. Within a decade, the Equestrians entered the modern era, utilizing magic in creative ways to avoid industrial pollution wherever possible and speed the nation's development.

Today, the Equestrian States is an advanced country that has successfully merged tradition, magic, and technology. With an economy dominated by tourism, agriculture, and the mining of precious minerals, the Equestrians have found their niche in the international community. Thanks to its location in the Pony Lands, the Equestrian States has become a travel hub for many visiting the region from around the world, and the nation is easily among the more prosperous and safe for foreigners to visit.

Geography & Climate

The Equestrian States is best described as an island nation. However, most Equestrians live on the largest island, which is referred to by locals as the mainland, due to its size and role as a population and commercial center for the country.

The mainland is mostly flat grassland and plains, though forests and hilly areas exist and are generally scattered throughout the island. Running north to south are the Harmony Mountains, named for Mt. Harmony near the capital city of Canterlot. The mountain range divides the mainland into eastern and western geographic regions, and was once home to dozens of active volcanoes. However, no eruption has occurred in the Harmony Mountains in over 800 years, and the range is believed to be inactive. The ancient volcanic activity on the mainland (and on many of the Equestrian States' smaller islands, as well) resulted in mineral deposits from which Equestrian miners have extracted gold, silver, and other valuable materials for export.

Two notable exceptions to the mainland's grassy majority are the Everfree Forest and Southern Desert. The Everfree Forest is more of a jungle than a temperate forest, and is widely considered the most dangerous region in the Equestrian States due to its large numbers of wild carnivorous species, some of which would be considered "mythical" by foreigners. Within the Everfree Forest is the city of Everfree, located along the banks of the Stampede River and home to the largest population of non-equines in the nation. A number of more typical temperate forests surround the Everfree Forest itself.

The Southern Desert is (as one might expect) a dry region located in a small pocket of flat land surrounded by the Harmony Mountains near the southern coast. The only major population center in the Southern Desert is the small city of Appleoosa, located in what could be considered by some as a cooler oasis.

But where things begin to get weird for the average tourist is the Equestrian States' weather. Due to the magical nature of many of its inhabitants, the Equestrians are fully capable of creating, manipulating, and otherwise controlling the clouds and weather. This gives them the ability to determine where and when in rains, snows, hails, or any other . The Equestrian government is very actively involved in coordinating the pegasai of the country to generate and control weather patterns favorable to the Equestrian States inhabitants (and its many farmers, in particular). As such, the odds of an Equestrian weatherpony giving an incorrect forecast are almost nonexistent, unless you happen to be in the Everfree Forest (the only region of the Equestrian States where the weather is practically impossible to control due to a prevalence of wild magic).

Travel

Travelling to the Equestrian States is generally easy, as most methods of interregional travel are available to visitors from outside the Pony Lands. Most international flights to the Equestrian States arrive at Canterlot's Harmony International Airport, but other regularly-used airports such as Manehattan's Royal International and Stalliongrad's Friendship Heights International are easy to find flights to. However, it should be noted that pilots flying to and from the Equestrian States internationally must receive additional certification due to the nature of the Equestrian States and much of the Pony Lands. Because of this additional requirement for pilots, some airlines do charge extra to cover the training fees.

Another common way of reaching the States is via sea. Manehattan's seaport is among the most active in the North Pony Lands, and isn't located far from the heart of the Equestrian States' largest city.

Once in the Equestrian States, there are many other options for travel. Rental cars, taxis, and busses are easy to find in the larger cities such as Manehattan, Stalliongrad, and Everfree, though one might notice that most vehicles are electric-powered. But while cars and busses are regularly used in some cities, there are also several in which their use is limited to emergency services (most notably in Ponyville and Canterlot's Old City district) or is totally banned (as is the case in Cloudsdale).

However, the limited use of automobiles is balanced out by the proliferation of trains for travel between and within cities. Some of the more prominent and historical lines (such as the Ponyville-Canterlot Express) still use steam-powered engines or high-speed trains designed to mimic the classical appearance of an Equestrian train. Subways are also a common feature in Equestrian cities, spreading underground to connect many places of interest for foreign tourists. Cloudsdale is the only city where cars, buses, and trains/subways are unavailable.

But in the end, the most common method of travel in the Equestrian States is one's own two feet (or whatever you have to walk on). Few Equestrians drive or use public transportation unless they have to, preferring to take in the clean air on their way from place-to-place.

Culture & Society

Religion

Any analysis of Equestrian culture and society must begin with its majority religion and guiding philosophy: Harmonism. A dualistic religion, it revolves around the physical sun and moon deities, Celestia and Luna, as well as the six principles known as the Elements of Harmony. The religion's origins are near-impossible to determination, though it is widely believed to begun shortly after ponykind first encountered Celestia and Luna over two millennia ago. Unlike other religions, Harmonism lacks a written scripture or centralized multiversal organization to create such writings, occasionally resulting in disagreements between Harmonists from different regions. For the sake of brevity, we will only be exploring the most common spiritual and secular beliefs held by those from the Equestrian States.

As stated earlier, the central beliefs of Harmonism include the worship of the Regal Sisters (Celestia and Luna) and adherence to the Elements of Harmony. Celestia and Luna are the two Princess rulers of distant Magical Equestria, though Luna has (in recent years) begun to spend considerable time aiding the C'tan in preserving peace throughout the Pony Lands. Immortal and, according to spiritual Harmonists, capable of moving celestial bodies through magic, the two Regal Sisters are worshiped (or at least respected) by ponies throughout the multiverse as living goddesses. Some have recently begun to question the actual power of the Sisters, though it is widely accepted among ponykind that they are the two most powerful magical beings in existence.

The six Elements of Harmony are Honesty, Laughter, Kindness, Generosity, Loyalty, and Magic. These Elements exist both as philosophical concepts as well as physical objects capable of great power that contain the purest magical essence of the aforementioned virtues. The philosophical aspects of the Elements are more central to Harmonist faith as a set of morals to guide one throughout life. They are, for the most part, fairly self-explanatory, except for Magic. The sixth element has been connected not only to the ability of equine Harmonists to use magical spells, but also to the drive for new knowledge or understanding. It also has been connected to the power of friendship, and is mentioned in the most common Harmonist saying: "Friendship is Magic".

However, Harmonism has expanded from its spiritual roots (particularly as more non-equines are exposed to harmonist teachings) to become a secular philosophy as well. Secular Harmonists generally try to follow the virtues of Harmonism, though they generally do not believe that the Regal Sisters are physical goddesses. The expansion of Secular Harmonism has also led to the traditional virtues being adopted and woven into other religions as well, such as Christianity. Excluding the overwhelmingly Spiritual Harmonist equine population of the Equestrian States, the most common religion is Harmonist Christianity, which is especially popular among the human inhabitants of the nation.

Language

Traditionally, ponies have spoken in their native Equestrian tongue which is common throughout the Pony Lands. However, since the emergence of the Equestrian States into the international community, laws have been passed requiring citizens to be capable of speaking multiple languages. The most common non-Equestrian language is easily English, which is spoken by approximately two-thirds of the population. It should be noted that some English words have been altered by Equestrians to better fit the equine majority, as the use of "everypony", "anypony", "hoofball", and other such words are modifications of the more standard English words. Mastery of many different languages is especially common among Unicorns, and as they are generally the ones more involved in business, are easy enough to find for foreign visitors. Numerous translating services exist throughout the Equestrian States, and airport bookstores generally contain a plethora of multilingual dictionaries for purchase.

Food

As one might expect from a nation dominated by a species of herbivores, many traditional Equestrian dishes are vegetarian in nature. The proliferation of such food is also furthered by the general lack of agriculture for the purpose of raising up animals for the slaughter. To hurt another living creature is, to many Equestrians, simply unthinkable. However, the Equestrian States is not only inhabited by equines, but also by griffons, dragons, and humans (among others). Restaurants do exist to cater to these non-equine species, and do serve a wide variety of meats imported from outside of the region. That being said, it would be unwise to be seen in public eating a hamburger made from beef or any other meat product as many Equestrians are disgusted by such foods. This can make finding food difficult in smaller cities and in the nicer areas of the larger ones. A general tip would be: if your waiter looks like a herbivore, don't ask them for a cheeseburger or steak. Equestrian cafes are fairly creative with what they can do with non-meat products, and the bread and pastries are oftentimes better than what you might find in other nations.

Drink in the Equestrian States also differs significantly from other nations around the multiverse, as the most common alcoholic beverage is hard cider, which can be found at virtually every bar, pub, and restaurant. Ponies generally refrain from drinking too heavily, but other non-human sapients such as griffons are known to consume vast quantities of alcohol in a single sitting. We advise our human readers to graciously decline any drinking challenges offered, as one is unlikely to win, and drunk griffons can be notoriously temperamental. Beer is a distant second to cider, in terms of both popularity and availability, though bars and eateries which cater to human tourists will often keep domestic Equestrian brands in stock.

Inter-Species Relations

As the Equestrian States is home to a wide range of species, it is practically impossible for any visitor to the country to avoid seeing a member of another species, regardless of where they might be. Unicorns could pull this off in certain neighborhoods of Canterlot, and Earth Ponies could do the same in isolated rural areas, though foreigners will often stumble across other species upon entry into the Equestrian States as customs officials are perhaps the most diverse Equestrian demographic.

Relations between the three major pony races have not always been smooth, and some tensions still exist today despite the educational system's teaching of acceptance and tolerance. However, inter-species violence is very rare within the Equestrian States, as is violence in general, with the possible exceptions coming from dragons, griffons, and other more naturally-aggressive species. Angering a dragon is about as dumb as it sounds, and is not advised unless one has a death wish.

Visitors to the Equestrian States are also advised to avoid appearing speciesist to locals, as Equestrian society could be described as having a herd mentality, where an attack against or insult towards one person might be considered an attack on all those around that person. Thus, some words to avoid using in the Equestrian States are: horse, mule, foal, or donkey. Calling a pony any of those terms is likely to result in a backlash towards the offending individual, as they are considered to be offensive unless one is actually speaking to a sapient horse or donkey, which are both easy to tell apart from ponies through their size and general lack of bright-colored fur or manes.

Introduction

The Constitutional Monarchy of San José Guayabal, or also known as Guayabal or simply called SJG is a culturally diverse nation, inhabited by at least thirty ethnic minority groups and five other major ethnic groups, forming a bond of brotherhood between each group, giving to the nation a strong reputation of unity and brotherhood even in the most difficult moments. The ancestral heritage given by Spanish colonizers and a mixture of innovation and creativity have shown positive effects in this vibrant nation located in the southernmost corner of Esportiva. History

The Spesdorf's Arc, Rossana

It is an arc which some historical records was built over a thousand years ago at the entrance to what is now the city of Spesdorf, the capital of the German-speaking island of Rossana, according to the records is said that the arch was created to to protect the city against the hordes of invaders from different regions and islands.

HUGO

The dust and destruction covered the street; nothing of any significance remained. Footsteps the only thing breaking the eerie silence that occupied the once bustling town. Structures of houses became a rarity, mostly joining the rubble that littered the road. Hugo Ulmanis breathed in heavily, it was too much to take in. He was the Deputats Ministru Prezident, Deputy Minister-President, of the Reibijan Republika and he was staring at an apocalypse. At sixty three years old, he had been brought in by the young Ministru Prezident to give the government seniority and authority in his party, Reibijan Cel. As far as Hugo could see, it didn't work, the General Election was around the corner and the governments polling figures had never been lower, the way the Ministru Prezident was handling the crisis hadn't helped.

Despite his age, Hugo was proud to say he still had a full head of black hair, though although he didn't like to admit it, it was greying around the edges. He had dark brown eyes and a large crooked nose, which he had broken on a number of occasions. He was known for his brown suits, which he wore now, along with a brown trenchcoat and a red woolen scarf.

His Security Detail turned to him, having to raise his voice to combat the methodical noise of the helicopter's propeller overhead, "Seen enough?" He sighed once again, yes he had. But he couldn't say it too eagerly, there were too many ghosts around the place. He had seen pictures throughout the last few days, whether it be in Emergency Kabinet Meetings or on the news, it was everywhere, but being here was something completely different, the news could never portray what it's like to see toy cars lying in the rubble of their scorch houses and vivid pink gloves that once belonged to a six year old girl being the only thing that broke up the baron greyness of the town."No, we're here for a reason." The Security Detail nodded curtly, it was his job to guard and obey - but you could tell he wanted to be here as much as Hugo did.

Continuing down the street, the various news and government helicopters blowing around looser rubble, newspapers reduced to no more than clippings from the day it happened, turning a corner, Hugo noticed a scorched billboard. Behind the blackness of the charcoal was the remains of his parties election poster - "Reibijan Cel - Cinas par Ju" Reibijan Way, - Fighting for You. Any other time, he would have laughed at the irony. But not now, not here.

Hugo sighed again, he had been doing a lot of that recently. He could not find any words that could describe what it was like being here, having the charcoal of a destroyed town being blown onto you by a helicopter owned by media hungry for more harrowing images to show a shocked public. Out of no where, a woman burst out shouting, her blonde hair being pushed back by the helicopter and the cool winter breeze, she had the same eyes of all the survivors Hugo had met, cold and dark. Without any light and with no flicker of hope. "YOU! Yeah you, what are you going to do? It's your fault, your governments fault. You brought them here, you brought those cowboys here! So what are you going to do?"

"The government I represent is going to push for the highest level of compensation for the people that tragically lost their lives" In all his years of politics, Hugo had always despised public forums , but he had never had one likes this one. The room was unnaturally light, which completely contradicted the mood of the room. It was an atmosphere of poison, one which Hugo could not find an antidote for. These people were angry, and rightly so but they were also making themselves heard. Shouting abuse aimed at him and the government at every answer, banners raised like it were a football match. "Taisnigum par Devindes Cetri" Justice for the Ninety Seven, "SariGas iznicinaja manu maju" SariGas destroyed my home and "Kur Ir MP?" Where is the Ministru Prezident?

Sure enough, his response was greeted with a chorus of insults, he was used to it, this had been going on for the past ten minutes. I've been called a bastard more times this hour than I have the rest of my life, he thought to himself privately. "Quiet" the Press Officer intervened, "If you make so much noise, you can not here what the Deputats Ministru Prezident has to say"

IRA

"... The Deputats Minstru Prezident has visited the town of Tukate today where ninety four people were killed and countless others injured in an explosion in the nearby SariGas refinery three days ag-". Ira turned off the radio, she was nearly ten minutes late. Hurrying out of her car, she pocketed her ID badge and ran to the school hall that was packed with people and noise. Stumbling slightly, she quickly turned around and headed for the hall.

"I want to reassure you that we shall leave no stone unturned. Teams from the Ministrija Nemeju are inspecting the plant and SariGas itself is sending over special ambassadors from The Saria-"

"Can we believe anything you say?" Ira stood at the back of the hall, she would've liked to have found a seat - but it seemed the whole community had turned out to hurl abuse at the Deputats Ministru Prezident. They were not here for answers, they were here to vent their frustrations. Tukate was a small town in Northern Reibija and it was rife with poverty. The refinery had been the only major source of work, before that the population left in boatloads to find works in cities. The people had very little before, but now they have nothing.The heckling continued for almost thirty seconds.

"We'll have a new government soon and good fucking riddance." Ira knew that the caller had stung Hugo Ulmanis, his government were at rock bottom polling wise, and the Ministru Prezident's lack of response had not helped that. Although he never said it, Ira knew that the Deputats Ministru Prezident was stressed about the election, and infuriated by his seniors actions. "It remains to be seen who will win the next election but we will rebuild here in Tukate" He was fighting for every word, Ira could tell that he knew he was fighting a losing battle, but he continued to endeavour onwards. "You have my word on that."

But the crowd were still not happy, "You're word's worth nothing" Chaos erupted, security staff tried to remove the man to the fury of the crowd, the noise was deafening. Ira was getting impatient. Stepping forward, she started to shout over the crowd, when they saw her, it subdued a bit, and she restarted, "Mr. Ulmanis have you heard of Harrowhall?" She spotted the confusion on his face, "Harrowhall, one of the men next to you might have." She looked at the man to the left of the politician, the SariGas official.

"Yes, it's one of our plants back in The Sarian."

"Four years ago it came close to experiencing a disaster just like the one experienced here." She knew that would set the crowd off again, she was prepared for the growns aimed at the DMP and the SariGas Regional Executive. "Because of it, your company commissioned a confidential report and made changes to safety procedure at Harrowhall. Procedures that were not implemented here in Tukate." Speaking quickly so she wouldn't be silenced by the indignation of the crowd she added, "Mr. Ulmanis, I have a copy of the report here, would you like to read it?"

She was wrong, the crowd sat in near silence, the clatter of her high heels echoed through the hall as she placed the document in front of the DMP. She saw him look up at her as she left before glancing down at the report, blushing by the ears.

HUGO

The news was always on, that was one rule about Government. The news must always be on. Hugo had adapted to that, he could shut it out almost entirely now, but today was different. Today, he was watching it, the Ministru Prezident was addressing the nation from The Sarian, where he had been speaking to SariGas Executives to discuss compensation for the disaster. "I understand I have faced a lot of criticism back home for leaving the country for The Sarian at such a short notice." That was the least of it, the country had needed leadership and the MP was off gallivanting in Lavington when he should have stayed at home and lead.

Hugo tried not to be bitter towards the young leader, but he did make stupid decisions at time. "However, the opportunity to press the case of the people of Tukate with Paul Clarke and the others at SariGas who will ultimately be making the decisions regarding the future was one I felt I had to grasp." Hugo noticed how the MP nodded at Paul Clarke when he said his name, it gave him an ominous feeling. He had warned him before he left to never make friends with a businessman, but like most of what Hugo said, the Ministru Prezident had ignored it.

"We value the jobs that this company brings to an area of considerable economic deprivation, but we also demand the very highest possible safety standards." This added to Hugo's growing feeling of worry, the MP would not be speaking like this if he had heard about the Harrowhall Report, SariGas were obviously keeping that quiet. Hugo made a mental note to show him Section Four the second he returned. He looked over at the report the journalist had given him at the forum, he had read it through several times, he was still pondering the answer to the note she had left on the top - "Want to know more? Contact me."

Hugo always hated not knowing things, when he was younger his mother would tell him curiosity killed the cat. Thinking everything over, he made his decision and picked up the phone. "Hello, I would like a bug to be put on the line of Ms. Ira Stanz... Yes... Trigger word? SariGas."

He didn't want to be here, but he knew it was his duty. He was in charge of the country while the Ministru Prezident was away, and he would expect the Ministru Prezident to make the journey down here, so he must. Still, being in a Medical Examiner's Office was never pleasant. "Deputy Prime Minister, glad you could make it."

"Thank you doctor." The whole feel of the room was strangely peaceful, there was no sound, but it wasn't a harsh silence like there was at Tukate. He walked slowly throughout the room, surveying each person and whispering them a silent sorry. Finally, he reached a body bad half the size of the size of the next smallest one. "And what... what age was this one."

"Two and a half." Surveying her possessions, he noticed a pink glove - identical to the one he had seen while in Tukate. He felt sick.

"The Leader of the opposition, Henriette Morouv claimed today that the Ministru Prezident's continued absence for Reibija at this time of national tragedy serves to underline that the government is out of touch with the people it is supposed to serve. The latest poll figures add weight to her argument, the government is now lagging an average of eleven points behind the opposition."

The News was becoming the low point of Hugo's day, the poll figures got lower everyday, and he couldn't help but feel sorry for all the friends he had that were due to lose their seats. "Janis," He turned to his Secretary "fetch me the Prime Minister will you?"

"Certainly Sir"

"Hello Guntis, still up in the air?"

"Just about, it's a little rough up here but you know... we're almost here now."

"Listen Guntis, did you know there was a similar incident at Harrowhall four years ago?"

"Harrowhall is irrelevant, Hugo. What's important is that I have Clarke's word on a lucrative deal comprising of compensation and redevelopment."

"And you have his signature on that, I presume?"

"Listen, I know that you think that this trip to The Sarian was a waste of time bu-"

"I think we're losing the election Guntis. Not many votes on Isle Regis. So the compensation package,"

"Covers everything, cover and verse." Hugo had a huge bang in the background.

"Hello, Guntis?" He turned back to his secretary. "Lost him, bad turbulence. Call him back later will you?"

KARLIS

"So what's this about Karlis?"

"I'm going to be honest Lauras, I don't know." As the Vaditajs Stiena, the Chief Whip, he should. Hugo was normally very good, Guntis kept him in the dark a lot but not Hugo. "And Lauras, do me a favour will you, turn it up." Like Hugo, Karlis was one of the older members of a very young Kabinet. He turned to look at the television, where the Deputats Ministru Prezident was coming towards the press platform outside the Ministru Prezident's residence. He had a grave look on his face.

The press were bombarding him with questions, about Tukate, about the future of the Ministru Prezident, ignoring them all he began to speak.

"All communication and radar contact has been lost with the plane carrying the Ministru Prezident back from The Sarian. The plane was last heard of approximately 400 miles west of Reibija it's scheduled arrival time was one thirty this afternoon, three hours ago. There were no distress signals nor any warnings or claims of responsibility. The circumstances are grey but there remains a possibility the Ministru Prezident and all the other passengers on the plane are alive. That's all I wish to say."

Karlis turned off the television, "This could cause problems."

Chapel, St. Hermione's Convent, Acedonia

As the clock struck midnight, 3 men and a woman walked into the convent chapel. St. Hermione's Convent was the Church of Acedonia's only convent and had been named in honor of St. Hermione, a prophetess who had been killed around 1900 years prior to the present time, by a government that would live in eternal infamy for their ruthless persecution of the Faithful. The Convent buildings were less than a hundred years old, but architecturally resembled the Gothic style of the late medieval period, with pointed arches, ribbed vaults and flying buttresses. One could not be faulted for thinking that the building was much, much older than it appeared to be.

As the 4 of them walked into the Chapel, they were greeted by Sister Maria Polus. While the rest of the nuns were already asleep, Sister Polus had stayed up, anticipating their arrival. They had important matters to discuss, matters relating to the many Prophecies which St. Ioannes had foretold on the island called Patmos. These matters were far too important to be discussed in front of anybody else.

First Figure - Hello, Maria. I haven't seen you in a while.

Sister Maria Polus - Its nice to see you again, Your Holiness.

First Figure - Although I may have been called to the Patriarchy, I am still your student.

Sister Maria Polus - That you are. I am still in disbelief that the Heretic-King appointed you as Patriarch.

Patriarch Nicolaus V - I've known Petrus since we were both very young, so it didn't surprise me. He doesn't suspect anything.

Sister Maria Polus - Good. Miss Artemieva, can you confirm this.

Queen Veronica - Yes, Ma'am. Petrus has no idea what we're going to do. This "Goodwill Visit" ruse is serving our mutual goals very well.

Sister Maria Polus - Excellent. Andreas, Ioannes, do either of you suspect anything?

Prince Andreas - No, Sister Polus.

Prince Ioannes - Actually, Petrus told me that he's disappointed by the cancellation of the Maple Leaf Bowl and that he will be putting more time into the day-to-day operations of the Kingdom in the future.

Sister Maria Polus - That is most unwelcome news.

Queen Veronica - May I speak?

Sister Maria Polus - Permission granted.

Queen Veronica - I think I have a solution to this problem.

Sister Maria Polus - What is it, Artemieva?

Queen Veronica - I think I can talk Petrus into training for the Winter Olympics.

Prince Andreas - I think he's always envied our Olympic medals.

Prince Ioannes - Petrus may have his World Bowl trophy, his 3 Maple Leaf Bowl trophies and his Arena Bowl trophy, but he doesn't have Olympic gold and I make sure to remind him of it at every opportunity.

Sister Maria Polus - I think that would serve our interests. If the King is not involved in the actual governing of the nation, then the power will lie where it belongs - with us

Prince Andreas - So, is it time?

Patriarch Nicolaus V - I believe that it is.

Sister Maria Polus - Indeed, it is time to unleash the Christian State on the sinners.

Patriarch Nicolaus V - As St. Paulus wrote, "The Wages of Sin are Death." Therefore, it is time for us to visit death upon the irredeemably wicked, who refuse to accept the Truth that Iesus Christus is Arisen from the Dead. Death to the Infidels!

Sister Maria Polus - Very well. May God's Judgment be carried out, against those those who reject Him!

Patriarch Nicolaus V - God has spoken to me and He has commanded me to call for a Crusade, a Crusade against Sin in all of its forms. Sin must be eradicated, so that our Savior may return to Reign over us.

Prince Andreas - Indeed, Your Holiness. Its time, but the question is this: What nation do we target first?

Patriarch Nicolaus - Let's start by launching the Christian State in Ciqi.

At that moment, the door opened and another figure walked in.

Prince Ioannes - Hello, Consul. I see you've finally arrived.

Consul Reino Kulseth - I apologize for my tardiness. My flight was delayed, due to a drunken pilot.

Sister Maria Polus - He has been fired, I hope.

Consul Reino Kulseth - He has. I personally called the CEO of Republican Air and made it clear to him that he needed to fire that idiot, if he knew what was good for him. What have I missed?

Prince Andreas - We're going to try to talk Petrus into competing at the Winter Olympics.

Consul Reino Kulseth - Good. Our preparations for the Baseton Games are underway and we hope that the Olympic Council will choose our bid, without much controversy.

Prince Andreas - Good. We also decided that it is time to create the Christian State and give them the go-ahead to begin their Crusade.

Consul Kulseth - That is great news. Its about time. May I ask which nation they will originate in?

Patriarch Nicolaus V - We've just decided: We're going to launch the Christian State in Ciqi.

Consul Kulseth - Where? I've never heard of them.

Prince Ioannes - Ciqi is a large nation in Atlantian Oceania. They're communists, which means they are Godless and they aggressive persecute the Faithful.

Consul Kulseth - An excellent choice, if I may say so myself.

Patriarch Nicolaus V - Here's the plan: The Christian State of Atlantian Oceania crucifies some wicked government officials upside-down. When the government of Ciqi retaliates, the SP and the Holy Republican media will publish article after article about the persecution of Christians in Ciqi.

Consul Kulseth - Then, I send in the military?

Patriarch Nicolaus V - Correct. Ciqi is an extremely valuable territory, one that ought to be a colony of the Holy Republican Empire.

Consul Kulseth - If Ciqi is so important, why have I never heard of them before?

Patriarch Nicolaus V - Because they tend to stick to themselves, except when they're exporting shoddily-made products. Do you realize how many things are Made in Ciqi these days?

Consul Kulseth - I've never seen a Made in Ciqi tag.

Patriarch Nicolaus V - That's because Made in Ciqi goods are more commonplace in Atlantian Oceanian and Rushmori nations. Trust me, they're a major economic power and would be invaluable to the Empire.

Consul Kulseth - I'll take your word for it. Afterall, you have a direct line with the Almighty.

Patriarch Nicolaus V - That, I do. After Operation Ciqian Colonization is in progress, we can launch the CS in more nations. Then, we can use them to destabilize those nations and eliminate the wicked.

Queen Veronica - Aren't we also going to increase funding for foreign political operations?

Patriach Nicolaus V - That, too. We will be increasing our financing of our efforts to take over governments and our Evangelical operations tenfold. No longer will the Army of God be underfunded in our battle against the conscious and unconscious followers of that wicked snake Satanas.

Sister Maria Polus - It is getting late, so I think it is time for us to go our separate ways. Consul Kulseth, please speak with Mr. Theriault about arranging a friendly in Republica at a later date. At that point, we will meet again in Republica and discuss where to go next, to bring about God's Plan.

Patriarch Nicolaus V - Indeed. Reino, please return home to the Empire as soon as possible. The rest of us will spend the night at the hotel and travel back to St. Petrus in the morning, to avoid suspicion.

Consul Kulseth - Very well. We shall meet again.

They went their separate ways. Within days, the Christian State emerged in Ciqi, targeting the government officials tasked with enforcing the laws regulating religion. It would be just a matter of time before the Republicans had their excuse to invade Ciqi. Once that happened, it would be just a matter of time before the Christian State was unleashed throughout the multiverse, to wreck havoc on those who refuse to convert to the "True" Faith of Iesus Christus. Soon, the Wages of Sin would truly be Death...

Season 5, Chapter 4: Shang Tsung'd

Two letters arrived at Wight's Home. He could only comprehend that it was finally time. As much as the Dream Realm seemed to be confortable on its... special way, it didn't set on stone that it was the place where all that joined it, would stay there forever. However, in order to make things more interesting, the leaders of the Dream Realm would often host a challenge. Facing a row of four opponents, the lucky eight that somehow could manage to pull the undefeated 4-0 record would be allowed back into their regular realm. As Wight walked into their room, he could only notice the duo sleeping on different beds, the same where they arrived at back then. He simply left the respective letters and boxes near them and climbed his way to the roof of that simple house they lived at. He suddenly felt that he wasn't alone there, however. It seemed a lady, covered under a black dress and a mask somehow found her way to the top.

Wight: Don't tell me you actually have some sort of issue against them.
????: Actually... I don't, old friend. I'm as surprised as you are.
Wight: Indeed... they don't call people like them so suddenly... Someone must have pressured the hosts.
????: Maybe they just luckied it out.
Wight: ...Not too hard to believe, actually.
????: You know the hosts are a bit... weird.
Wight: Well, the people around here tend to be weird... What did you expect?
????: Now that you mention it.
Wight: And besides, you're only scouting your competition, am I right?
????: Since you have been refusing your invites... and you haven't made tea in months.
Wight: You never told me you liked them.

Wight: I remember the other one was very resilient back at the Normal Realm.

????: Yes. And now I know that doesn't work. Now I have trained myself enough and even if I can't pick a style anymore, I still am getting my way back.
Wight: Indeed you do. Yet, it still seems you might need to get your ego checked a bit.
????: Psh. The two you have with you aren't any good on that field either. Specially the girl.

The duo would somehow hear a warping noise behind them, looking back to it, only to find a man dressed with red robes under a black cloak. His face wasn't visible.

Wight: ...You do know that if you want to stay here, you should start considering paying someone.
?????????????: Tis a disgrace when even the dead want rent. I'm one of the ever so mighty Mods, so you should be glad I'm here.
????: You can drop the act a bit now, Archregimancy. We both know you're not like the rest.
Archregimancy: Indeed, I'm not. Still doesn't excuse the lack of royalty this position seems to be getting as of late.
Wight: Anyways, why would you be here, of all places.
Archregimancy: Well, you know my modus operandi. All experiences one can get by travelling to everywhere should be useful at my position, shouldn't it?
Wight: Yes, but... what would you want to learn from the Realm of the Dead?
Archregimancy: Actually, I'm looking for Sunrise and whoever is controlling the gates of this realm.
????: You mean he's getting his participation's right revoked?
Archregimancy: Not exactly. In fact, I'm here to ask for his participation to be antecipated as much as possible, if not for him to have his soul granted back to his body at the Normal Realm.
????: WHAT!?
Wight: Is there any particular reason for that?
Archregimancy: That's so we could prevent the possible appearence of a certain someone around these lands.
????: How is that even possible?
Archregimancy: Well, Mikoto-no-Kirigiri, the Conqueror of Realms... She loves him.
????: Again, how is that even possible?
Archregimancy: How would I know? From what I'm aware, she tried to fool Sunrise into being her aid to our realm, until trully falling in love with him.
Wight: That's life.
Archregimancy: I suppose.
????: Is that even urgent, anyways? No one can die here, after all...
Archregimancy: That means the Realm of the Dead would be under the hands of an old Conqueror forever. Are you interested on that?
????: Just... just pray that he's not on my way on the bracket.

The lady faded after a leap from the roof to the street, quickly fading among the hundreds of black and white buildings under that fair rain that fell down almost eternally.

Wight: ...She never forgot her loss.
Archregimancy: She's probably like that because of spending so much time here. This place changes people.
Wight: Some. Though then again that was a loss that certainly did mark her a bit.
Sunrise: Who lost to who?
Archregimancy: Oh, thank Max! You have finally woken up!
Sunrise: Eh, don't blame me. Being on a coma makes you kinda sleepy here too... Besides, you kept making too much noise here.
Archregimancy: Well, I do know you'll be a bit surprised when you find out what they're using your body for.
Sunrise: Excuse me?
Archregimancy: Remember that young gentleman Ecosse? He sent you and Sindy to Astyrian Labs to become some sort of android.
Sindy: THAT BASTARD!
Wight: Calm down!
Sindy: Oopsie. Sorry.
Archregimancy: Well, if you return on time... I'm pretty sure you'll escape the process.
Wight: I believe you saw your letters.
Sunrise: Yeah. Not too shabby, heh.
Sindy: So, if we get four wins and no losses, we can go home straight away?
Archregimancy: I believe that is true.
Sunrise: And if we don't?
Archregimancy: I don't know. Your souls will end up mixing with your robotical forms. Then only Max knows what would happen.
Wight: So you only have one shot at it.
Archregimancy: Well, Sunrise has the possibility of bypassing that thanks to Mikoto, whom they couldn't want less around these parts.
Sindy: And what about me?
Archregimancy: You have only one shot.
Sunrise: So do I.
Archregimancy: ...What?
Sunrise: Yeah. Look, I know it's a pretty stupid choice but... let's be honest. What kind of protagonist would I be if I didn't fight it out?
Sindy: ...He's very stupid.
Archregimancy: Indeed.
Wight: Yeah.
Sunrise: ...Screw you. So, what about the whole style thing?
Archregimancy: Oh, yes. You both recieved a box with a couple of items. Holding them while you enter the arena will grant you special powers based after the item you hold. It might carry to your actual life if you do manage to get out of here on one piece.
Sunrise: Good.

Wight: ...I take it back, he really is going to pick a loudmouth.

We were on our way home. We'd been knocked out by Isula ge Ru in the second round, 1-0.

The flight was silent, as all flights were. However, this flight was more silent than most. We were in first class, and although many people craned their necks to see us on the Tumbran Airlines flight, we managed to remain largely annonymus.

We were disappointed. Isula ge Ru turned out to be the most challenging opponents we'd had. We expected to win. Or, at the very least, go out on penalties. No-one can blame you when you lose on penalties. It is luck, after all. Where you put your kick, where the goalkeeper dives...

It was three AM when we reached Goldlion. We'd left the same night when we were defeated.

A hasty exit, one might have said. But there was also another purpose. It was to avoid the press.

The FA wanted to avoid any awkward questions on our return, so we'd been booked on a Red Eye flight across the region.

Needless to say, most of us were silent. It was a nice change of pace. There were some extremely sad faces all around the First Class compartment.

Henry Pandon had missed three chances, and his other four were saved. The worst of his misses was when he rounded the goalkeeper and shot over.

Brandon Brooks had mis-tackled whilst in the box, resulting in a penalty-which they scored, with some player which I can't even remember what his name was.

And Jordan Fletcher was the saddest of us all. He was now certain he was going to be sacked, a fact which only I knew (see the final Collins RP in the BOF thread), and a fact which I wasn't going to reveal any time soon. If anything, he'd be like me, wanting to go home (or to the FA headquarters) as soon as we touched down.

And touch down we did, thirty minutes later. The city was silent but the airport was bustling and as busy as ever. We had a chartered bus, which we quickly boarded. But not before I slipped away and bought a copy of The Telegraph, the Daily Mail and the Guardian. I skipped over the tabloids, but most if not all the regular newspapers (excluding the FT and the Buisness Times) had a picture of Brandon Brooks tripping up the Isulan player, and him looking very very shocked, Henry Pandon after his miss with the open goal, and Jordan with his face in his hands.

I quickly paid 2 pounds 50 for the newspapers, and went right back into the group. It was almost like I hadn't left.

World Cup 70 Preview: The Suns for the 70th World Cup Revealed

Well, another World Cup is here again, and the Suns are looking for a better showing this time round. 10 out of the 23 players will make their debut here or at the Escudo Fraternal. So, who are these players who will pull on the coveted sky-ble jersey, many for the first time? Allow me to introduce you to the Suns of the 70th World Cup!

Goalkeepers
#1 Paul Bainbridge The Bluebirds ended up on top of the NFL after letting in just 33 goals in 42 games - a big part of that was due to this man. A good choice for the national team, Bainbridge is a smart player, with an uncanny ability to read an attack. He rarely gets surprised, but if he has a fault its a tendency to come out of his goal a lot to try to cut down an attacking run early, especially if he's the last defender.
#12 Adam Simpson Usually the backup goalkeeper behind Toby White, Simpson will now start as the most senior goalkeeper on the squad. It's been another great season for Simpson, with the Mariners once again taking home the league trophy. As always, expect him to stay firmly on his line rather than chance a rush.
#35 Billy Meyer Meyer returns as the backup goalkeeper, now with some international experience to his name. Meyer is a crowd pleaser, using his athletic ability to pull off spectacular saves. Bainbridge and Simpson are conservative, solid and dependable - Meyer is none of those things, but he still manages to get the job done.

Defenders
#4 Dylan Webster Webster made his debut last World Cup, but has proven himself enough to stay on the team. A solid, no holds barred defender, Webster also has a good attitude when it comes to calls not going his way. A good perfromance here, and he may become the next Cesar Osario.
#5 Steve Magana A left back, Magana still plays an attacking style of football, and has been known to take deep runs up the win. He also has a decent long pass, able to pick out a player wether it's crossing into the box or a clearance out of the defensive half.
#6 Carl Silva Now a legend of the Barunian team, Silva was the only logical choice to take over the captaincy from Marris. The 7th most capped player in national history, Silva has made his name as a smart defender, always keeping himself between the player and goal. As such, he is often the last line of defence, and he has the skill to make sure that last line is not breached. He also plays internationally with a top team in Makosile United of Vilitia's V-League.
#13 William Marr A debutante, the Hawks defender is known for his hard, aggressive style of football. He is tenacious, and once on a player will not let up. Sometimes, that gets him into trouble with the referee though.
#22 Akio Sweet Sweet is a player on the rise. Now making his second Cup for the Suns, Sweet also broke the national record for a transfer fee paid for a Barunian player when he signed to Firewood City. He has a lot of style and skill, and could well be a major part of this team for years to come.
#23 Pedro Quinn The Saints had the best defence of any top 8 team in the X-League last season, and much of that was down to this guy. Quinn is tall, making him especially good at defending corners and aerial balls. He also has great reflexes and has cut down more than one pass with a quick outstretched boot. A defender in the style of Julian Millet, he may turn out to be just as dependable as that Suns stalwart was.
#29 Virgil Hernandez Hernandez is the opposite of Marr. He'll stay back and cover passing options rather than challenge a player directly, which is why he's out on the wing, where he'll be best suited to covering any passes into the box. Of course, he'll only get game time when Magana gets a rest, as he's not in the same class.
#30 Aaron Johnson With a centre this strong, Johnson might not get much game time. Similar in style to Silva, he'll likely be the choice sub should Silva struggle with his fitness.

Midfielders
#7 Nick Lyle Another new player, Lyle is clinical and precise in his passing attack. How much impact he'll have near the goal with the high passing game the Suns' have been favouring is unclear (he stands only 5'5), but if the balls at his feet he'll find a way to get the ball through the defence.
#8 Luke Cadena Cadena started his career as a defender before moving up to the midfield. A protege` of Suns legend Lucio David, Cadena is tenacious, always fighting for the ball, and has an almost uncanny ability to read an attacker. Once in possession, he favours a big clearance upfield to try and set up a break away on the counter. While offically moved up to starter, he will likely share the role in rotation with Sam Winton.
#17 Sam Winton Winton's got pace to burn, a good head for strategy and plenty of ball skill. He'll need all of his talent as he sets up plays from the centre and takes care of any counter-attacks early. Maybe not quite as fast as he used to be, he'll still be a hard man to beat as the first line of defence, and will share starting duties with Cadena.
#18 Ellis Merriet At just 19, Merriet's a player with a bright future. The fact that he's here is a testament to his talent, as well as his reliability as a constant play maker.
#19 Emmanuel Jackson Jackson burst onto the scene in 67, when he became the first and only player from the bottom tier of the Barunian Football League to play for the national team. Now signed to league champions West Bay Mariners, Jackson has become one of the most experienced players on the national squad. He prefers to keep the ball low when crossing or passing into the box, but can lob it and also has a good domestic record when it comes to scoring goals.
#21 Loren Sanchez Sanchez finally got his big break last World Cup as a starter. Sanchez's speciality is the long cross, landing them with pinpoint accuracy off his favoured left foot. Once again, he'll be the go to man for long free kicks and corners from the left.
#25 John Bubble A dedicated attacking midfielder, Bubble is now another international, playing with Buyan's Tjelberg Forening. Taking over the vital role from Mark Hardy, he's got big shoes to fill, but indications are that he'll do an admirable job.
#33 Simon Hodge Another newcomer, Hodge won't see much game time with Jackson in charge of the right flank. He's not a bad player though, and may stay in this side long enough to earn his place on the starting list.

Forwards
#11 Miguel Manzana Manzana is a prolific scorer, seemingly never satisfied with just one goal. He's the main reason the Tridents were the only team to hit +100 goals in the X-League. Put him anywhere on the field, and he'll hammer the shots in. That intensity will lend itself way to Ruskin's preferred style of play.
#31 Matthew Murray Murray has probably the most powerful boot on the team. When he fires a shot, they go fast. Very fast. A definite option for penalties if he's on the field. Murray doesn't have much skill to beat defenders though, so he prefers to shoot early rather than carry the ball into a better position.
#32 Leon Reno A versatile player for Port Newland, Reno plays in both midfield and attack. A good finisher, he'll be responsible for any penalties or short free kicks, and can play balls equally well off the ground or from the air.
#37 Yohan Marris The man, the legend. From humble beginnings as a reserve midfielder, Marris has grown into the 2nd most successful forward in Barunian history (and he'll need just 4 more goals to beat Victor Castolo's record), and one of the all time greats. When he plays his first game of World Cup 70, he'll also become the most capped Barunian player. Now in his 40's, he's not as quick as he used to be, and will spend a lot more time on the sideline for this campaign. However, when needed he'll be a dangerous presence in the box, able to score equally well with the head as well as the feet, and favouring a volley from a cross. Expect him as a late substitution if the scoreline isn't going Barunia's way.

So that's the squad. Plenty of great talent there, and hopefully this team will put the Suns back where they belong, into the World Cup as one of the best teams in the multiverse.

We are starting today with the trending topic, SJG hosting the WC?!?! Yes, for more oddly and ridiculous as may sound for some people, which appears in the headlines of this day newspapers is not a hoax as those made on April Fools' day. After the fall of the communist regime that caused damage to the society of the nation that no longer bore the harm he caused and decided to stand up heroically against sememejante brutality but hey, back to the topic is that nothing the Federación Guayabalense de Fútbol decided to do something unthinkable until now a secret and it was not only due, because the Hoofball Association of The Equestrian States in order to organize the World Cup, in partnership with the Football Association of Felix and Mizuyuki who provide support logistical and administrative support to WC Qualifiers and host the Cup of Harmony, all in a plan to have everything well organized, something done with the greatest of sigils.

No doubt part of the stealth worked perfectly, as we found out until he started voting Council of the World Cup and to finish the winner was ... guess who. As we can see here, the roster of SJG features a somewhat-shaped like an hexagon line up where Mathias Paatelainen chosen to use three defenders with some experience like James Moreira and Meyson Salume, both can act as key players if we talk about the realization of transitions to offensive plays meanwhile Passarelli is the team sweeper and also most experienced of the team in terms of playing in the international scene, specifically in UICA tournaments. In the midfield we can see a rhombus shaped position of four players, being Saucedo and Bregoo a kind of fake forwards due to the changing role of the tactical system that can feature five forwards in case of need and Núñez together with Valencia which is the destructor of any attempt of attack of the rival. Both can be like defence in case of need. In resume this strategy helps in defence and attacking because it can turn into a 3-2-5 in attacking moments or a 5-2-3 in defending moments, creating a complete system that can help the team to achieve victory at any cost.

Thinking in the warm-up, Escudo Fraternal.

One of the most important games that will SJG at the moment is the now traditional confrontation with Barunia in the Escudo Fraternal, now entering its third year and SJG seeks to defend the title against a national team of Barunia who's looking to improve and possibly to be one of the serious contenders in the WC, while not winning the title, is one of the candidates to make an excellent tournament.

Mathias Paatelainen have all prepared with a view to the games, knowing that Barunia is a rival of great quality which is difficult to overcome.

"We know it's a complicated series Barunia is one of those teams good level never trusted when playing, especially his attack, which is very good and I recognize that we can cause damage, but our focus at this time preparation before the cup is to improve the defense, which has always been our weak point and the reason that we do not qualify for the World Cup last time. our mission is always to win and improve the defense. "Alright Meino, you've lost your bet this time. Pay up kid. Dennis and Lennart aren't here to help you this time, pal." Two men in trenchcoats and fedoras stood over their victim, both taller than him, one pencil thin, the other of average weight. The men decided to corner him in a casino, the first place they knew he'd be. Meino tried to avoid the place at all cost but couldn't resist himself.

Meino Sachs found himself in an unfortunate position at this time. A few days before the Wolfbenz played against the Estenian team, he had bet a significant amount of money on the Wolfish winning. Unsurprisingly, Wolfbenz lost the match 4-2, were knocked out, and the money he was supposed to owe was stolen by a member of another crime family, who made a very convincing tourist impression.

"When I find that Hawaiian shirt wearing sonofabitch I'm going to kill him, shoot him, and taking my money back, and not in that order."

Meino Sachs thought about his options for dealing with the two men standing over him. "I have a pistol and knife in my coatpockets, I could stab and shoot both of them."

After a few seconds, he dismissed the idea. They could be highly-ranked associates, and that could start some kind of mob war between the two families in question. Dennis and Lennart would most likely kill him if he started some kind of war, although they were his brothers.

"What's wrong, Sachs? Did ya soil your pants? Should we call your brothers to change your diaper?"

The mental punch was retaliated with a physical one by Meino. He punched the thin one in the jaw, then proceeded to attempt kicking the other one in the gut. Meino missed his stomach, resulting in him kicking the other one in the genitals.

People in the casino started looking towards the commotion. From their point of view, they saw a man assaulting two innocent people who just wanted to have a chat with him, one very thin unconscious man, and other in agonizing pain.

"Security! This man has robbed us!"

"Shit!" Meino panicked, proceeding to run to the exit.

He quickly exited the casino, heading to his car outside of the casino. When he arrived, he fumbled his keys from his anxiety before putting his black sedan in ignition. He stepped on the pedal, driving away from the casino rather quickly.

"I'd better stay far away from this place for awhile," Meino said to himself. "Maybe I can find another place to gamble."

"Meino, can you tell us what happened during your little escape to and from that casino you like to go to?" Spoke Dennis Sachs to his younger brother, sitting at a large, mahogany desk.

"Well, Dennis, I was just off to go and gamble like I-"

"You went to the same casino you usually go to, right?" interrupted Dennis, his voice rising.

"Well, yes."

"You lost a bet in that exact same casino to a few guys that were soldiers associated with the Kristofferson family, correct?"

"I believe so."

What did these guys look like, Meino?"

"One was tall, about six foot four and very thin, and the other looked about five foot ten or eleven, and he was about of average weight.

"I believe their names are Armin Jakobsen and Viggo Næss, respectively."

"How do you know?" Meino asked. He knew that Dennis had a good memory, but he never knew he could remember nobodies from a large gang.

"Those two are probably the lowest of the low in the Kristoffersen family." Dennis started, "They've never been the wisest bunch. Armin has an IQ of about eighty-nine and is so weak that he would lose a boxing match against a butterfly. Viggo is even stupider and is treated like a butt monkey around the other gangs. Hell, I think the head of the Kristoffersens is just keeping them around to entertain us. Kind of like court jesters in medieval times, you know? Anyways, I'm just glad you faced them instead of someone like Michael-Christian Østergaard."

"Who?"

"A hitman for the Becker family. Kills everyone he supposed to. How much money do you owe?"

"250 Viostocks. A guy somehow stole all of it."

Dennis smiled. "You idiot. We'll get this all figured out by next week, alright. You better somewhere quiet for awhile and lay low, okay? Go to some backwoodsy place in Western Wolfbenz where people stage fascist rallies on a daily basis, okay?"

"Dammit Dennis, I want to stay alive," Meino said jokingly as he walked out of his brother's office, "Oh yeah, and tell Lennart I said hi, okay?"

"Okay then, Meino. See you in a few days, I guess."

Meino walked out of his brother's office, relieved that he wasn't shot in the face. "Now that wouldn't have ended well if something like that happened."

He stepped into his brother's car, a white coupe, and drove off to a faraway town in the next province where the police of Ferris wouldn't find him.

The King's Way. That had been what this road running through the centre of Altsby was called. Kedzierski had changed it to Crow's Way. The Special Administrator was driven slowly down the wide road, and he could fee the gaze of the people as they swept over the motor vehicle. He knew what they were thinking. Exactly what he wanted them to think. This 4 wheel drive, 50 years old if it was a day, was never the less a new and terrible sight to the people of Furellum. This was progress. This was power. This was what the Corvidae would bring to Furellum. And with that thought, the convoy rolled on, leaving fear and awe in its wake. On the lips of Yuri Kedzierski, a smile formed briefly. Let the people gaze in wonder. Wile he had their hearts and minds, he had their devotion. And that was all he needed from them.

The car pulled up outside of the Administrator's Palace. Formerly the official residence of Furellum's Grand Duke, Yuri had turned it into one of his private residences. The door was swung open as he approached, and Yuri walked in with out so much as a glance at the guards stationed either side. Walking up the spiralling staircase, he was accosted by his aide, Konstantinov. "It's all done, sir." said Konstantinov, beaming. Yuri glared at him. The little dog was practically bursting with pride. Yuri wondered if he realised how small and insignificant he was, in the scheme of things. So close to power, but yet with none of his own, he did whatever his master wanted. Yuri smiled as a thought occurred to him. If I was human, he could be my pet. Konstantinov misunderstood the grin as meaning Yuri was pleased with him, and almost burst with joy.

Yuri brushed past his aide, calling over his shoulder, "Get down there and see that everything is ready. I want no mistakes." Konstantinov saluted smartly, then hurried down the stairs. Yuri watched him from the top of the stairs. Go, my pet, fetch for your master like a good little dog. Turning, Yuri walked into his office.

There was a wolf seated at the table, with the same grey fur and cobalt blue eyes as himself. This was not surprising, for the two were brothers. Grigori Kedzierski was dressed in the black uniform of the PP, the Plotzopagaznik, or Palace Protection. The PP formed Yuri's personal bodyguards and security detail, and were all sworn members of the Corvidae party.
Grigori looked up as his brother entered the room. "Enjoy your little drive?" he asked.
"It served its purpose, admirably well I thought."
Grigori sighed. "This is a stupid idea, Yuri. As your security chief, its my duty to warn you."
Yuri looked out the window, at the fields below. Out on the sprawling grounds of the Palace, stood neat rows of soldiers. "Everyone down there is loyal? They all check out?"
Grigori nodded, even though his brother wasn't looking at him. "Aye, they're all party members. But what about these players? And the foreigners you are thinking about letting in, what about them?"
Yuri kept his back to Grigori as he answered, "I trust your men can handle any problems."
"But why take the risk? For what, a game and a stupid metal cup."
"It's like the car, that's why."

Grigori shook his head. "I don't understand."
"The car is a symbol of Corvidae power, Corvidae riches. The football team, represent our name, our ideals. Think of how all the teams that have crawled out of the mud, tiny little backwaters who've slapped together enough money to dream of competing in the biggest competition in the multiverse."
Yuri turned to his brother and continued, "Now how many of them went to the Sarian for the Baptism of Fire, saw the glories of the Corvidae first hand. How many will take the light of what they've seen back to the holes they crawled out of?"
"So what of it? They'll all be aiming to get to San Jose Guayabal. A nation that hates Corvidae."
Yuri shook his head. "When they were socialist, maybe. Now I understand there is a king on the throne. Wether things are vastly different, remains to be seen."
Grigori walked over to look his brother squarely in the face. He was tone of the few people alive who would dare to do such a thing now, and one of the even fewer who knew Yuri would let him.
"And what about the others? What if we draw Felix? Or heaven forfend the Inevitable Calanian Union, or whatever the Syndicate call themselves these days? How hard would it be for their governments to sneak an assassin amongst the spectators."
Yuri looked his brother straight in the eyes. "You and I both know I wouldn't be the target. That's why I want Lex Crowley safely out of the way. Keep him under heavy guard in one of the safe houses in Kedziburg. For his own protection, of course."

Grigori nodded. "It's all in place. Do you what the bridge locked down?"
Yuri considered it briefly. Grigori was talking about the magical bridge that connected this small rock at the edge of the Taaru sea to the rest of the country of Furellum. The other side came out in the sprawling metropolis of Kedziburg, which Yuri had named after himself when he came in to power. Well, it was better than Other Altsby, which was a stupid name given only by someone who would consider that city inferior to it's Atlantian Oceania twin. If Grigori could cordon off the bridge, no one would be able to get anywhere near Kedziburg, much less Lex Crowley. The supreme leader of the Corvidae party, Crowley was much too important to the cause to have him die on Yuri's watch. He was the snake head, and every one of the traitors in Felix or the Calanian Union, hell bent on eliminating the last of the Corvidae, would be more than pleased to cut that head off the snake, and let the body die. Wether he like it or not, Yuri was part of that body. Protecting Crowley was a priority. Yuri nodded. "Shut it down. No one gets in, no one gets out."

The Chronicles of a Monastery
Chapter 1: The Visit

Andrei and Marianna were on their way to visit St.Nicholas Monastery, a small village near Rannin. In an altitude of 800 metres there was that village which was home of over 500 people. Although small that village had luxuries, like down there on Rannin, because of its important place it became a trade and religious center back on 1400's and still holds those titles. St.Nicholas Monastery is the oldest monastery build by Estenian hands and also the oldest village made by Estenian hands.

So Andrei and Marianna were on their way to that monastery with thier 4x4 Dersov car and Marianna wearing that pretty seater spotted the village 700 metres away and she shouted

"Andrei, we reached, Andrei we reached the St.Nicholas Monastery, it's so beautiful iin here and I see Rannin from up here, it's very cold in here comparing to Rannin down there."

and Andrei answered

"Of course it's colder up here, it's November and 750 metres higher than Rannin. The nonexistable winter doesn't catch up here."

"I know it doesn't, because how would I get an 18 on Geography last year, tell me? I was just excited."

"I am also excited babe, but you have o be ready for evertything that comes in your life."

"I also know that."

"And so, why don't we just stop arguing Marianna."

"Yeah, we must stop this, this is getting intensified lately."

"But always ends on a good sex... I mean us being okay again." and he whispered "Phew, she didn't hear this."

"Oh yeah, it ends in a good way, it always does but I miss those times when we were travelling backto our homes on Turea."

"I also miss those times, in there, we met up, I still remember your pretty face and Blue eyes, like the sky, you made me explode from love."

"Oh, that's so sweet, you didn't told me that stuff earlier."

"I wanted to keep those on a private moment. Let's stop here." said Andre and grabbed Marianna on him and started kissing, kissing like the first date, so passionately that you wanted to see this. After finishing their kiss Andre said

'Was it nice babe?"

"I didn't excpect that nice kiss."

"I wanted to do that for a very long time."

"Oh."

"Yeah, it was so nice. Now let's continue to go on the village it's just 100 metres away."

"Ok."

"Great, my sweetheart."

and they reached village, it was around 17:59, Estenian General Time and the sun was still up, because it never sets early there or in Estenia in general. Well, they reached their house which had a very nice view of the Monastery and Rannin and the village itself. Inside, the house had all te modern luxuries an HD Television, having all the Estenian Channels of the area, modern kitchen, modern living room, everything was modern except from the outside which was looking like a 1400's house with the stones holding up the house and the wooden roof which on this case had inside it steel so it can stand the local weather. As for the garden, was litterally outside the door with the beautiful roses and daffodils along with the 2 Palm Trees and they were all surrounded by a large wooden fence, withe a small gate in the middle and the wooden path so you can enter the house properly. It also had a 4 metre Estenian flag on top and a Flurea Flag(Think of the Florcence Flag).

Gregoryisgodistan invades Xylocarpstan

Gregoryisgodistan has invaded the wicked nation with a name we cannot repeat. Instead, we will call it Xylocarpstan and say it is home to sapient xylocarps. That's not what they call themselves, but we will call them that. In any case, 500,000 Gregoryisgodistani troops landed on the beaches of Xylocarpstan early this morning and immediately began shooting any xylocarps in sight or beating them until they smashed. Smashing xylocarps has become a pastime for these soldiers, using items such as hammers and large rocks. The xylocarps shattered upon smashing, spewing xylocarp milk all around. Over 30,000 of the radical Christian xylocarps who recently seized power have been killed so far, and there will be more deaths forthcoming.

Lord Almighty Gregory made a speech today, saying "We must destroy all the sapient beings who are known by a forbidden fruity word. I will just call them xylocarps. We will never accept conditions of surrender short of all the xylocarps being extradited to Gregoryisgodistan for a good smashing. The xyloponies can stay, but not the xylocarps. We must destroy them. Xylocarps, especially the heathen radical Christian kind that have just seized power, are heathens, and heathens need to be smashed. Xylocarps are evil for using the forbidden fruity word to describe themselves and their nation. They also fail to recognize that I am the Lord Your God and they worship Eye-ee-zus, just like Saintland. And we all know what needs to happen to Saintland. They must be blown up. They must be destroyed. Xylocarpstan must be destroyed as well. Every single living sapient xylocarp needs to be killed. The xyloponies are lucky we are not going after them as well, as are the xylohumans. After all, they are collaborators. However, let us not forget that their parents killed xylocarps to allow their children to be born. Therefore, as the sons and daughters of xylocarp killers, they will be rewarded with my mercy even if they are half xylocarp. We must kill all the xylocarps. Xylocarpstan must be destroyed."

Meanwhile, more troops keep filing in and wreaking havoc, blowing up buildings with grenades or burning them to the ground with flamethrowers. When all else fails, they shoot up the buildings with machine guns then burn them to the ground. The death toll of xylocarps, as mentioned above, is 30,000. While the soldiers are attempting to spare xylocarp allies, such as humans, ponies, xyloponies, and xylohumans, at least for now, a few hundred of them have been killed as well, mainly by fire in burning buildings. It is yet another war for Gregoryisgodistan to fight in, and another war for them to prove their glory. Gregoryisgodistan has the most glorious military in the multiverse and possesses nuclear weapons as well. They are capable of destroying whole countries with those atom bombs. Not to mention, they have many solar-powered bombs that can be used for destruction as well. Lord Almighty Gregory also can destroy whole countries with his mind because he is God, but he rarely does that, reserving that power for nations such as Costa Luna which are not only heathen but stupid as well. On a few occasions, Lord Almighty Gregory has shown mercy and allowed Costa Luna a second chance, but they have always shown themselves to be unworthy. Lord Almighty Gregory also destroyed Nexus Drako with his mind. They will not get a second chance. After all, Lord Almighty Gregory is God and he makes the rules.

It looks like this could be a genocide of xylocarps. Many of them are already dead and Lord Almighty Gregory seeks to kill them all. It will be a bloody war, or should we say a milky war since xylocarps have milk, not blood. In fact, that is a very good name for it - The Milky War. It's only one letter off from The Milky Way, the galaxy which Lord Almighty Gregory is God of, just as he is God of the rest of the multiverse. And it was 2,014 years ago last Wednesday that Lord Almighty Gregory created the Milky Way along with the rest of the multiverse. Now he is creating the Milky War as well. Of course, he is God and can do anything he wants. How long will it be until all xylocarps are eradicated? Will Lord Almighty Gregory's plan be successful? Of course it will, it's a matter of when, not if. After all, he is God. He can do whatever he wants. The xylocarps and Xylocarpstan must be destroyed. Milk will be shed, death will happen. But Lord Almighty Gregory will still reign eternal. After all, Gregory is God of the multiverse. The war is continuing and many xylocarps are dying. It is a glorious day for Gregoryisgodistan. May there be many, many more to come.

Goats hoping to bring back the fire from two Cups ago

So it is time once again for the Goats to take the field. This is my second time covering the World Cup and not playing in it. Normally, I co-anchor association football coverage at NETV Espora 7, but I have been asked to do a little side column here for the Times. My last season with the Goats, was also coincidentally their best in the International arena, but in no way could I take too much credit for that, or lament that my departure from the team caused a downward trend. It has been a tough climb back, but I really would like to think that they are ready this time around to get back to where we once were.

Neu Engollon is currently 36th ranked after dropping a bit due to not being able to match play with the big boys during the 69th Cup. Maybe it was a tough qualifier group, but some say they should have been able to clinch it.
It's time for the boys to really show their true ability which is far beyond what we saw during last year's event, for sure. We have to go back, like I said, to the 68th World Cup in the Free Republics, where Neu Engollon finally qualified and broke into the race for a spot in the Round of 16. That is where it all collapsed as they were unable to take a single crucial game in Group H two years ago.

Back to today, we have the same squad as last year, but what's different is the experience and tougher training the Goats have been put through during that time away from the International spotlight. There was no reason for them to be complacent, but somehow, that attitude needed to be flushed out. That's what harsher critics would say, but not someone like me who has better inside knowledge. I know these guys well, like family, even the newbies that have only been starting for the past year, most of whom were reserves in my day and I still got to know pretty well. Enough about me, it's about them. They have what it takes and we know they will bring it and the rest of the naysayers in the Confederacy need to get up to speed. I could wax on, but I will save some steam for my next column.

Those famous words are from the Battle Hymn of the Republics and are more true now than they have ever been before. Today, I declared war on the nation of Ciqi, a nation which has been brutally persecuting Christians for the "crime" of practicing the teachings of our Lord, Iesus Christus. But, that wasn't the only important military action I decided to take today, on behalf of the Lord our God.

The news of Gregoryisgodistan's invasion of the peaceful nation of Coconutstan shocked the entire world. The action was taken as the nation's Christians gained control of the government. The scenes of Gregoryisgodistani brutality have shocked the Godly World and even many of those Lost souls who are currently headed to the fires of Infernus. I, as leader of the leader of the Godly World, will not permit these atrocities to continue. Therefore, I have authorized the deployment of 90 thousand troops to Coconutstan under the command of General Leon Ellis, a most Godly man who has been personally recommended to me by Secretary [of Defense and Liberation Vick] Lanctot. I trust the judgment of Secretary Lanctot and I know that anybody he recommends will not let me down and will not let the Godly people of the multiverse down in our fight against the forces of Satanas.

Let me be especially clear here: We are not waging war in Coconutstan and we are not declaring war on Gregoryisgodistan. While I have no doubt that it is the Will of God that Gregoryisgodistan be annihilated some day, this is not that day. Therefore, the Indispensable Nation, the Protector of Freedom and Virtue throughout the multiverse, will not be waging a Holy Crusade against that wicked land that worships a man who preposterously claims to be God. At least, not yet, we won't. However, when the time is right, I am certain that God will be with our Holy Republican Empire as we wipe Gregoryisgodistan off the map, once and for all!

However, we did declare war against the nation of Ciqi, a most wicked land in Atlantian Oceania. In Ciqi, the government is run by a group of Godless Atheists known as the Communist Party. Now, as we all know, the very concept of "Communism" is blasphemy, for only God can create Paradise. Communism is and has always been a wicked attempt by man to create a temporal Caelum, but without God. Inevitably, Communism turns into a mockery of itself, with an evil self-perpetuating oligarchy that treats their people as little more than slaves. Why, I've even heard that the government of Ciqi practices something called a "1-child policy," which restricts married couples to just a single child! This is not only an exceedingly stupid policy based on those Lies from the Pit of Infernus about how our multiverse is supposedly "over-populated," but it is also a direct rebellion against God's orders for us to "be fruitful and multiply." As every man and woman of God knows, it is the duty of every husband and every wife to engage in the reproductive act, without the use of that wicked invention euphemistically referred to as "birth control," for the purpose of producing an ever-increasing number of children, for God.

That the nation of Ciqi limits the number of children that their citizens can have is an extremely evil act. However, the manner in which they enforce this restriction is even more ghastly. The government of Ciqi, according to our intelligence, is engaging in compulsory sterilization, in order to advance their wicked "population control" agenda. In case you are fortunate enough not to know what "sterilization" is, it is a wicked "medical procedure" designed to prevent men and women from producing babies. What is even worse is what the government of Ciqi does to anybody who manages to get around their wicked policy and produce a second child. Under Ciqian law, such babies are forcibly "aborted," taking the lives of the babies. You're probably aware of the apologists for the evil practice euphemistically called "abortion," which is the taking of an unborn life. They talk about how they are the champions of "women's health" and how they are "pro-choice" and how decent people, whether they believe in God or not, who rightly consider that "choice" to be morally repugnant, are "anti-choice." However, Ciqi shows the true agenda of the abortionists and their apologists. These people are so evil that they, literally, enjoy killing unborn babies! By the way, since I'm talking about abortion, I want to correct a misconception. It is simply not possible for a rape victim, a genuine rape victim that is, to get pregnant as a result of rape. If it is a legitimate rape, Science proves that the female body has a way of shutting down and preventing pregnancy. For these reasons, and many others, I hope that everybody reading this will vote in favor of the Constitutional Amendment to ban "abortion" this year, so that baby-murderers will finally get the death penalty they so richly deserve! But, back to the point, the Ciqian government is run by monsters and it is our Moral Duty, as God-fearing Christians, to wage a Righteous Crusade against those Commie Scum!

To that end, I have ordered that war be waged against the evil nation of Ciqi, until the Commies have been annihilated. Ciqi will be our first colony in the region of Atlantian Oceania. Under my watch, the persecution of Christianity will cease because I believe that every man, woman and child has a right and a Duty to worship the One, the Only, the True God, His only-begotten Son Iesus and His Holy Ghost, that Blessed Trinity that is Three and One at the same time. That is, of course, the reason why we are here, to Serve God and carry out His Will. Therefore, Let Us be willing to Die, so that Men may be Free to Serve in their Rightful capacity as the Slaves of Iesus Christus! Let the Hero, born of woman, crush the serpent with his heel, Since God is marching on!

"We are here to civilly discuss the future of Drakonikan English, not argue over it like a bunch of school children! We have three options on the referendum. Keep it in use nation-wide, restrict its use to naming only or ban it entirely. You may continue civilly, but I will not hesitate to eject troublemakers." said the Speaker, Tms Wlmsn

From that moment on, the debate went peacefully. The supporters of the full nation-wide use argued about Drakonikan culture and uniqueness, while the naming only supporters said their option was good to keep culture and allow better communication between other English speakers, and the supporters of the complete ban argued that standardisation of English was the best goal for communication issues.

Another thing the House of Representatives had forgotten was that the session was going to be broadcasted on the national broadcaster, Drknkn Brdcstng Crpratn three days before the nationwide referendum on the matter.

Eventually, polling day came. The nation came together to decide on the future of their language. The general sentiment was that the naming only camp would win, as the poll used Instant Runoff Voting to decide between the three options.

Finally, after 12 hours of voting, the results were being counted. Early on, it looked like the "keep" and "naming only" camps were battling it out on the two-option preferred, but soon after, naming only took a landslide lead, going as high as 64% on the primary vote, before settling on 54%, which was a majority and eliminated the need for a runoff.

The next day, all traces of Drakonikan English outside names of people, towns and various organizations and media sources started to be changed to Standard English, thus saving international visitors the pain of an unreadable, seemingly-unpronounceable language.

The black-and-white extravaganza that was World Cup 69 was over for Simeone Di Bradini and the rest of the Holy Empire's squad of Chaps, but it still brought a smile to his face whenever he thought about it. It was like he'd just woken up the morning after the night of victory in Dwile itself. Due to the nature of the Dreamed Realm, of course, it was eminently possible that this was precisely the case, along with the match also being today, tomorrow, right now and also a week on Thursday.

Simeone suspected that the engineers of the Dreamed Realm had never really quite got the hang of Thursdays.

With Juan playing in midfield for the Chaps, Simeone was the sole authority figure in the dugout, overseeing the grand strategy of a World Cup Final. The warm glow of responsibility, the pressure on his shoulders and the electricity of giving commands was one of his favourite things in all creation. It even outweighed scoring goals. Well, most of them, at least. Another World Cup trophy to add to the cabinet, marking The Holy Empire as one of the true all-time greats of the game. Those feelings didn't go away any time soon.

Because World Cup 48 was special.

It was the same feeling at the final whistle as the one he felt in Cafundeu, all those years ago, when the Big Blues of Candelaria and Marquez had lined up against them, more than twenty tournaments earlier. He still remembered the silence, followed by the roar, as he and Juan had taken the field at the start of the second half. A lot of that crowd had been on the Holy Empire's side that day, and it felt like even the neutrals had been swayed when they saw Tzimices, Ug-Ug and Di Bradini lining up in midfield before their eyes. The same feeling, again, when he had outpaced Gwynfardd Lopulalan down the right-hand side to a resultant roar from the crowd, when he glanced up and saw the onrushing gold shirts and when his instinct took over long before any conscious mathematical calculation could be be made as to the ball's trajectory. He knew where he would put it, where they would be when his cross arrived. The feeling of his silver-booted foot striking through the ball cleanly, imparting just he spin and dip he wanted. He saw it went in at the same time as the crowd around him; the net billowing at the near post from the downward header.

To this day, Simeone still couldn't tell you who had been on the end of his cross, whether Ug-Ug or Juan had been the last touch or even the intended target. A gold shirt was all that had mattered and a gold trophy was to be theirs.

All these tournaments later, whether gods, beans, chaps, blancmanges or cavemen, it still felt just as good to hear the referee's whistle and the crowd's exultant cheer. That whistle meant you were the best team in the world and the feeling that keeps you smiling and snuggled as you lay in bed at night is the fact that nothing could ever take away the fact you were - or right now are - a champion, a title gained from a lifetime of blood, sweat and tears.

It was in that bed that Simeone dreamed of glories past, ones born of blood, sweat and tears as much as they were horror, killing and war. He dreamed of conflicts and battles, of swords crunching through chainmail and bullets punching through body armour as easily as they parted flesh and bone. He dreamed of sleek fighter jets screaming through clear blue skies and muscular horses lathered in sweat as they charged across an open field, kicking up tufts of soil and grass behind them. Bright beams of light connected stately, enormous ships as they hung silently in space, missiles leaving no trail as they sped toward each other with deadly intentions from thousands of kilometres away. Banners, flags and designs of all shapes and sizes, all with the same purple that was so close to his heart.

Endless, eternal conflict with countless deaths and seemingly infinite amounts of suffering on every side, in every home, every town, every nation and every planet. Overshadowing it all was the spectre of Death itself, a living embodiment of everything in the universe that must be fought, overcome and pushed back, raged against with all the breath and strength you have up until the very last moment that they leave your body. The spectre who could enclose a galaxy within it's grasp, with lines of influence like a woman's hair: long, dark and delicate as it blows in the wind with a terrible beauty across the void.

A smile that cuts like a knife and opens any door; a laugh that soothes equally as it strikes the heart asunder. Simeone dreamed of all of this, and more, awakening with a sense of foreboding and worry that had rarely ever made its presence known during his time in the Dreamed Realm. It reminded him of battling the Romanic armies, of the scenes he found at the Black Gate, the incomparable journeys he'd taken alongside Juan Tzimices and of what he witnessed at the ghoulish clone vats of Armaghetto.

It was terror. It was misery. And it was coming.

The International Career of Will Collins

I arrived back at my Goldlion apartment a few hours after we'd arrived back in Tumbra.

Gosh, it was cold. Not Quebecois cold, of course, but still Tumbran winter cold. Which was still cold.

After fiddling with the lock for a while, I walked in, locked the door again, threw my suitcase against the ground and fell asleep on the couch almost immediately.

I found it extremely difficult to sleep on planes. Always. The constant whirring noises, the fact that you're not lying down...

It is possible, but it requires a very long time of sleeping on planes before you actually feel comfortable on them.

I woke up at ten, still feeling extremely tired.

I still forced myself to have a shower, brush my teeth, have breakfast, brew a coffee, all the stuff that people do in the morning. Then I turned on my phone, and almost immediately I dropped it on the shaggy carpet at home. It was vibrating so badly that holding it felt physically painful!

Then I realised they were just texts, news reports and other game related notices. Facebook, Twitter, TBC news...

It took 5 minutes to clear away the notices that I would save for later. Then the messages.

The first one was from Gaffer Jordan, on the WhatsApp group.

The Red Dragons, Yúan Returns

It is that time again, the qualifiers for the most prestigious football event in the world. Kandorith is gearing up with well, a pleasant surprise for the fans. The Kandorese Football Association seems to have left Yúan Genshí in control of the national team. Even though Kandorith failed to make an impact on the previous World Cup; he has been deemed worthy to lead the team once again. With him being in charge; the team does not change much. Yúan still seems to believe in his "golden generation" of Kandorese football players.

With the return of the likes as Méng, Ximin Chosi, and Iichi; it still is the strongest Kandorese team ever to have played together. It is expected from Kandorith to pass the qualifiers and the group phase with ease; but like every start of the season, Kandorith starts tough. The wait starts for the qualifier draws, as the Kandorese team has started training in a secluded location with limited press access. Mostly the press will get in contact with Yúans team after the qualifiers have been drawn and Kandorith knows what they're up against.

The draw will be this weekend and millions of fans are already decorating their homes or even their entire streets in the national colours of Kandorith. Once again, the team will make a grand appearance and will be expected to win grandly once again.

Sehsuan City Bombed, War Contnues

Gianlang civil war has gone mad, according to the people and neighbouring Estenian colony, Checheng just united with Gianlang Democratic Republic and according to those people, war is going to be hard. As for Estenia, they decided not to join the war. As Gianlang-Checheng is fighting up Gianlang Socialists and Checheng Fascists, there's a clear number of casulaties.

Gianlang-Checheng: 5.000 people dead, 2.000 captured or wounded
Gianlang Socialists: 9.000 people dead, 1.000 captured or wounded
Checheng Fascists: 1.000 people dead, 2.500 captured or wounded

In the Checheng capital, Sehsuan, Fascists were bombing it all day long, leaving it with mass amount of casualties and damages but still, Checheng Infantry is holding the fascists with a fascinating way. Ground Offensive after an air attack which is actually pretty useful but yet again, costly. All the sides prefer to do less costly things after the war and all sides dream of conquering all that land, all the 200.000 people out of 9.000.000 from the country are in the war 100.000 of whom are soldiers.

Patistan, Hicaña, agree to Split Region

NEVO ESPERANSO, Nevo Esperanso -- Formerly a Shared Semi-Autonomous Region between the Islamic Republic of Patistan and the Federal Republic of Hicaña, it has been agreed to split the region into two.

Where is Nevo Esperanso?

Nevo Esperanso is a small region in the mountainous foothills of Patistan's Talii-Talistan province. About one hundred and twenty square kilometers large, the area is contained by the rivers Yunda, Ijmali, and Suttar, as well as the Great Esperañan Lakes, Keenatbad and Anscar. The region was part of Talii-Talistan until an influx of Hicañan refugees caused a heavy demographic swing. In 2013, it was declared a shared semi-autonomous region between the two nations, but now it has been split into two separate regions, with capitals Nevo Esperanso and Lallipur.

Ratified on Saturday by all three area's respective Congresses, the region has been split along the Suttar River, with Hicaña occupying the west half and Patistan the east.

""I feel controversial while giving this statement, but i have come to the decision of splitting Nevo Esperanso. This is because recently Isle Benoit of Hicaña had been nuked by Gregoryisgodistan, and I feel that it is our place to help the Hicañans rather than turn a blind eye. Henceforth, I am giving them control over half of Nevo Esperanso," Patistani Prime Minister Imran Khan stated in a press conference over the event. Adam Watson was unavailable for comment.

The region will be split effective in two weeks, when the first elections will take place. Current Governor of Nevo Esperanso Rashid Fahad has not stated if he will run again.

Inauguration of Aéroport International de Mirabel

Earlier today was the inauguration of Aéroport International de Mirabel. For those who don't know, the evil machines that are flying up in the sky needs to land, so they land in a place called an "airport". It is the first ever airport in les Pays d'en haut and a great step into modernity for our country. Ruling clan leaders Jacques, clan Bélanger; Paul-André, clan Bergeron; Mario, clan Gauthier; Claude, clan Labelle; Gilles, clan Thibault and Robert "Bob", clan Tremblay were in Mirabel for the inauguration. A plane came from Miley World and landed in Mirabel at 11:23 AM this morning and a few dignitaries from Miley World were riding the plane. They were welcomed by our ruling clan leaders who were present. Then Paul-André, clan Bergeron, the youngest ruling clan leader, had the honor to cut the ribbon. Robert "Bob", clan Tremblay also made a speech:

"This is a great day for les Pays d'en haut, we now have an airport. Tourists from all over the NationStates multiverse can come to les Pays d'en haut. It will also be possible for us to visit more countries. Today we stop being isolated and we're joining the world. I can understand some people could fear that, but I think our country will benefit from it and you should't fear it. We will keep our usages and traditions, we'll show the world who we are! Since we don't have an airline company in les Pays d'en haut, I announce that we have made a partnership with Smiler Airlines from Miley World who will operate in our airport. For now we only have flights to and from Miley World, but in the future we hope to have flights to and from more countries. This is a great step into modernity!"

After the speech all the ruling clan leaders who were present and the dignitaries from Miley World went eating in a well known restaurant in Saint-Jérôme and they didn't left the restaurant until late in the night.

Lord Almighty Gregory's Speech to the People

"Good afternoon, ladies, gentlemen, and slaves. As you well know, Gregoryisgodistan declared war on a certain nation recently, a nation I will euphemistically refer to as Xylocarpstan. This nation is home to sapient xylocarps who call themselves by a forbidden fruity word that I will not use. We are busy attacking these fruit things and anyone who stands in our way. They must die. Meanwhile, the Holy Republican Empire, formerly known as Free Republics, has pledged to send 90,000 troops to Xylocarpstan to fight us. They must be stopped. The Holy Republican Empire is a terror menace as bad as the xylocarps. Therefore, I am announcing an additional troop surge in addition to the 500,000 troops we have on the ground. Of the 5,000,000 troops we current have in Super-Llamaland fighting the war there, 2,000,000 will pull out of that country and join the forces in Xylocarpstan. Additionally, we have withdrawn all troops from Isle Benoit, the wicked safe haven for Hicanans, immediately before we launched a nuclear bomb at that nation. It killed thousands, if not millions. 250,000 of those troops are being sent to Super-Llamaland to provide reinforcements, and the other 250,000 are coming to Xylocarpstan to battle the Republicans and Xylocarps.

"As the world knows by now, we fight as a rogue army, shooting and killing anything that is our enemy, be it civilian or soldier. We are only targeting xylocarps in Xylocarpstan, but if a xylopony, xylohuman, pony, human, or any other being stands in our way, we will kill that thing too. But first and foremost, we must destroy the xylocarps. We must destroy all the xylocarps in the multiverse, and send the sapient ones to the Land of Eternal Punishment. There is a special Land of Eternal Punishment for sapient xylocarps, where they will be repeatedly smashed, and then those pieces will be smashed while they still feel pain, and so on, forever and ever. Perhaps eventually it will get small enough to split an atom. In that case, there will be a nuclear explosion and the process will start again. That will take millions of years, but it is the Land of ETERNAL Punishment. So they will still be there millions of years from now, being smashed like the stupid, wicked, sinner xylocarps they are.

"Additionally, I am now ordering our troops to shoot to kill any Republican soldiers or civilians in Xylocarpstan. The Republican soldiers are interfering with our duty to kill xylocarps, but that makes it all the better for they are our enemy too. If any other nations on our Enemy List want to intervene, they are welcome to do so as well. We will destroy them all, and it's much easier to do so if they are all in one place at one time. We must destroy the xylocarps. We must destroy the Republicans! We will assassinate their Consul once again, as we did to Consul Piazza before. We will kill King Petrus as well. Petrus is a fool who must be killed, for he is a Sanctii. Also, we will kill the impostor Sister Maria Polus who appears to be quite a rabble rouser. She is not the real Sister Polus, for the real Sister Polus is long dead, but she must die anyway. Therefore, when the opportunity best presents itself, we will launch simultaneous assassinations of Consul Kulseth, King Petrus, and the impostor Maria Polus. They will all die and it will be another glorious victory for us here in Gregoryisgodistan. For now, we shall be content with smashing and shooting xylocarps and Republicans and setting their buildings and bodies on fire. It is a glorious war, a holy war, for us to be fighting against the wicked xylocarps and Republicans. As we all know by now, I have lowered the minimum military age to 5 years old, and there has never been a maximum. Therefore, pretty much every Gregoryisgodistani is available to fight for our country if selected. If need be, we will use slaves to replace them at their jobs and homes. The slave colonies are getting along fine so far. They only have to work 20 hours a day in spite of the extra load due to slaves replacing people at homes while they fight a war. We could send an extra 4 million troops into battle before the slaves would be forced to work more hours than there are in a day based on our advisors' calculations. So we may very well do that at some point. If the slaves have to work 24 hour days, they will. They can poop and pee their pants and spend five minutes every 12 hours eating while working or something like that. They're slaves. Who cares? I am the Lord, so what I say goes. That's all that matters. If we have to commit more troops to battle the xylocarps, Republicans, and Llamaneans, we will.

"Oh, and I barely glossed over it earlier, but we dropped a nuclear bomb on Isle Benoit earlier today. They're mostly all dead now. It was a glorious end to a glorious war. We still have 9 nuclear weapons left and are looking to acquire more from The Royal Kingdom of Quebec or other nations. If any world nations would like to supply us with nuclear weapons, you will be justly rewarded with similar economic benefits as The Royal Kingdom of Quebec receives. You will also be guaranteed not to be placed on our Enemy List during the course of these benefits. All we ask is you provide us with more nuclear weapons. We reward those who reward us and punish those who don't. Isle Benoit is a nuclear death zone. Xylocarpstan may be soon if we don't kill the xylocarps quickly. The Holy Republican Empire may be gone soon as well, wiped off the map. These nations all forget that I am God. I am the One True Lord. You shall have no God but me. And you shall vanquish all the heathens to put them in their place, which is death and eternal punishment thereafter. Death to Hicana! Death to Super-Llamaland! Death to Isle Benoit! Death to The Holy Republican Empire! Death to Saintland! Death to Xylocarpstan and all the xylocarps of the multiverse! And while we're at it, Death to Everyone Else on the Enemy List!"
