Vakolev Energy Institute Revealed Haishan Will Have Operational Military FEL Aircraft Ready for War

Artistic rendition of the still classified aircraft. Laser bomber now?
Directed Energy Weapon or more commonly known by its acronym DEW is no stranger for Haishan that have been developing such weaponry for the past three centuries which in turn have spanned multiple Haize administration. This cold fact obviously contrasts with foreign States that might just now contemplating on developing such systems or rather drafting an operational need for such weapons. Haize mavens intense enthusiasm in DEW is once again revealed by a Vakolev Energy Institute cryptic snippet in major Haize defense circles' electronic boards where Haize and foreigners alike will likely see a military-standard, fully operational Free-Electron-Laser (FEL) aircraft in the nearest timeframe which, suspiciously timed with the confirmed Mokan aggression on HIMF space assets and subsequent initiation of a second Kessler cascade near the skies of Haishan.
While the loss of -Italia- space cruiser could be easily avoided with stronger HIMF presence, recent orbital events have shown how easy it is for any military assets in space, friendly or not prone to overwhelming firepower projected by anti-space units on the ground or the sea. Combined to the fact that anything interesting in space could be easily detected with current advances in processing powers and cheaper terrestrial sensors, maintaining space superiority would be an increasingly harder task given the Junta also applies operational interception defense (OID) on major components of Haize Armed Forces, including the HIMF.
One may ask, why complicate things and just use missiles which is an age-proven technology than relying on DEW? The Vakolev Energy Institute recent FEL solution however entails a completely different perspective; Haize missiles are indeed formidable but for time-critical targets such as a ballistic missiles requires usage of effective and fast solution. Considering Haize rapid development into DEW technologies, it's a no-brainer that a FEL airplane will later show up to supplement Haize OID doctrine in regards of missile defense. The solution purported by Vakolev Energy Institute is also not a mere coincidence in respect of currently worsening orbital conditions above the region.
With majority of space orbits cluttered by debris, it's going to get progressively harder to deliver intercept munitions into space without hitting the said debris while simultaneously try to accurately track and hit the incoming offensive munition(s). It's to be further reasoned that usage of space-involving defensive aids will prove a diplomatic backlash for Haishan as the case of Fedala Times report on Golden Throne disapproval of Kingdom of Imbrinium massive anti-space missile attack which should be defensive in nature. With the conventional anti-space missile role for ballistic defense used offensively, it's going to get harder to justify their future usage in any conflicts as they can be easily used as an offensive weapon and spark yet another international incident.
The development and deployment of FEL-type weapons on tactical systems shall prove an interesting turn in Haize doctrines that insofar have relied on missiles for OID purposes given like the case of anti-space weapon, the same beam systems can be used for other roles than ballistic missile defense. Coupled with recent laser advances that are clearly exhibited by Haize Aerospace Defense Contingent tactical anti air laser trucks which can be spotted all over Haishan in critical locations as per Wartime Emergency, putting FEL on a mobile and faster platform essentially enlarges the DEW capabilities of Haize Armed Forces to quite literally engage the enemies at the speed of light. Proponents of laser weapons however need to understand no matter how advanced a laser weapon could be, it's still a niche weapon with a defined role and moreso in respect of OID of Haize Armed Forces.
Vakolev Energy Institute's revelation seemed to blur this important distinction; the new purported FEL aircraft is roughly detailed to be a 'tactical' airframe with all around aspect 'tactical capabilities'. By deciphering the Institute's cryptic message with Haize Armed Forces usual nomenclature, it's highly likely that the new FEL aircraft will be used for something else than OID such as optical interdiction unit against ground forces as hyped by certain Haize defense analysts on the new tingling prospect. Should the speculation prove to be true, Haishan might be the first ever State in Greater Dienstad to use a laser weapon on a moving aircraft nonetheless, to both target hostile munitions and ground assets.
Further exploration of the idea entails significant anti air capabilities as well, which makes the Institute's announcement much more foreboding in terms of Dienstadi accelerating arms race. Nevertheless, true to most Haize military systems announcements, it's not certain on what their true capabilities are or whether they could do the aforementioned speculations given by much more imaginative defense analysts and populace. It's to be further clarified that if the allegations and claims are true, it might mean that Haishan would be a pretty formidable opponent in its own right against the trigger-happy People United Federation and Imperial States that have caused the Junta significant losses with their unprovoked military actions.
