Gregoryisgodistan National Cup:

The Gregoryisgodistan National Cup is held following the league season to determine a spot in the Globe Cup. All 8 GSL teams participate, as do 32 local teams representing the 32 non-slave districts (the Capital District does not get a team.) This means every District from 1-36 except 5, 9, 23 and 27 sent a team. The 32 local teams will play two opening rounds by random draw first, then the 8 remaining teams and 8 GSL teams join, still random draw. All games are played at the home of one random selected team, and will include extra time and penalties if necessary.

Results:

Opening Round:

District 20 0–1 District 10
District 18 0–2 District 32
District 1 0–1 District 35
District 33 0–1 District 8
District 6 0–1 District 24
District 28 2–0 District 4
District 22 0–2 District 21
District 31 2–2 District 25 (3–2 AET)
District 34 1–1 District 12 (2–1 AET)
District 3 2–1 District 26
District 17 2–0 District 29
District 30 1–1 District 19 (1–1 AET) (3–4 pen.)
District 7 0–2 District 16
District 15 2–1 District 2
District 14 2–3 District 13
District 11 0–0 District 36 (0–1 AET)

Second Opening Round:
District 10 1–0 District 36
District 15 1–0 District 35
District 3 0–0 District 32 (0–0 AET) (5–4 pen.)
District 16 0–0 District 24 (2–0 AET)
District 8 0–2 District 34
District 28 2–1 District 21
District 19 0–1 District 17
District 31 3–0 District 13

Round of 16:

GSAZ FC 0–0 District 3 (0–0 AET) (4–2 pen.)
District 10 0–0 District 17 (1–1 AET) (4–2 pen.)
Loyal Friends 1–1 November 5 SC (2–1 AET)
District 34 0–1 FC 17 June
District 31 2–1 District 16
Coastal Soccer Club 3–3 Island Soccer (4–3 AET)
Slaves FC 0–0 Prune Farmers FC (0–0 AET) (4–5 pen.)
District 28 4–2 District 15

Quarterfinals:
Coastal Soccer Club 2–0 District 10
District 31 0–3 Loyal Friends
GSAZ FC 3–1 District 28
Prune Farmers FC 0–1 FC 17 June

Semifinals:

FC 17 June 0–0 GSAZ FC (1–0 AET)
Loyal Friends 1–3 Coastal Soccer Club

Final:
Coastal Soccer Club 0–1 FC 17 June

Accordingly, FC 17 June is the champion of GSC 1 and Coastal Soccer Club is the runner-up. As FC 17 June has already advanced to the Champions Cup and Coastal Soccer Club to the Globe Cup, Prune Farmers FC will receive the spot reserved for the Cup Winner by virtue of finishing fourth in the GSL.

Normally, the Cup Winner would go to the CEdC along with the League winner, but FC 17 June won both. That place is therefore allocated to the winner of a playoff between the league runner-up and the cup runner-up (if they were the same team, it would advance automatically.) Therefore, November 5 SC and Coastal Soccer Club played a one-game playoff. By rule (unlike in the Cup) there was no extra time/penalties, and a replay would be played if necessary at the team randomly selected not to host the first game, repeating as necessary, switching host sites each time. Coastal was randomly selected to host the playoff.

Results:

Coastal Soccer Club 0–1 November 5 SC

November 5 SC takes the second CEdC spot.

Final Qualifiers:

Gregoryisgodistan (GGS) Qualifiers
UICA
Champions Cup: FC 17 June
Globe Cup: November 5 SC, Coastal Soccer Club, Prune Farmers FC

CeDC: November 5 SC, FC 17 June
Cygnus Cup: FC 17 June

Additionally, the Gregoryisgodistan FA announced a change for next cycle. Beginning next cycle, the third Globe Cup spot will automatically go to the fourth place team in the GSL, while the Cup Winner, regardless of whether it is participating in UICA events, will earn a spot in the Cygnus Cup. This was a moot point this year, as FC 17 June won the league and the cup.

Wiggin Buys Heracles Athletic Apparel

In an interesting tidbit of news from the world of the Taeshani Soccer League as Taeshan National team player and star for a club in Whirl Islands has made some plans for after his career ends. He has bought famous (or infamous) Taeshan jersey maker Heracles, notable for their bright colors and interesting choices in jersey design. With the buying of the company two announcements have come out of Taeshan. Not only will new jerseys be made for all of the Teams in Taeshan, including those who were previously notable for having older jerseys (made by foreign companies in Nethertopia and Sorthern Northalnd). Also the announcement has been made that the company will sponsor newly promoted Premier League side Hannah in the second half of this years Premier league as well as the next three years after that.

With this news fans around Taeshan are thrilled to see what interesting new design's the company has to offer and what new colors some teams might get in the tertiary area. The newly minted kits will start to role out in a few weeks after the first quarter of the Taeshani season. The kits will be made alphabetically with 1093 through Capetown getting theirs out first, and teams such as Yaton and X Island getting their first new jersey's in over 20 years at the end of the season. With this announcement the new Hannah kits were announced, sporting the Red and White we, in Taeshan, have come to recognize the spunky lower division side for.

GROUP STAGE

. A Pld W D L GF GA GD Pts
1 Dakota-Salt 10 5 2 3 12 9 +3 17
2 Ituano 10 4 5 1 10 7 +3 17

3 Selyne City Athenians 10 4 4 2 14 8 +6 16
4 McDuck Football 10 2 4 4 8 11 −3 10
5 Scrap Brain 10 2 4 4 5 9 −4 10
6 Revelação 10 2 3 5 8 13 −5 9

Apart from the dismal performance of Revelação, Group A was a true group of death, with the true contenders not decided until the last match. In the end, the Athenians were left behind newcomers Ituano by one point.

. B Pld W D L GF GA GD Pts
1 Giga City Protomen 10 6 2 2 14 6 +8 20
2 Krasnyi-Belyi Lokomotivy 10 4 5 1 14 8 +6 17

3 Guerriers Aztèques 10 5 2 3 19 14 +5 17
4 Vasco da Gama 10 4 2 4 9 8 +1 14
5 Covenant 10 2 4 4 7 12 −5 10
6 Estudiantes de Cobra Kai 10 1 1 8 7 22 −15 4

Estudiantes de Cobra Kai were target practice as four teams contended for the two spots. Too bad for the recently reformed Aztèques, and congratulations to the Protomen!

. C Pld W D L GF GA GD Pts
1 Korriga 10 8 0 2 19 4 +15 24
2 Campos 10 5 3 2 16 9 +7 18

3 Shanghun Teda 10 5 2 3 11 8 +3 17
4 Horde des Squelettes 10 3 3 4 11 11 0 12
5 Monsteropolis Skulls 10 3 1 6 10 21 −11 10
6 Dublin SkepChicks 10 1 1 8 4 18 −14 4

In the clash of skull-themed teams, the Pays du Mal champions beat the Waverickan behemoth and two-time semifinalist of of the Heritage Cup twice - but unfortunately that wasn't enough. Korriga barely acknowledged the opposition as they cruised to an easy first place, while Campos snatched second place thanks to a slip-up by Shanghai Teda in the last match.

. D Pld W D L GF GA GD Pts
1 Shadow Blade Shinobi 10 6 2 2 14 6 +8 20
2 Egalité Galicienne 10 4 4 2 13 9 +4 16

3 Modelle Australes 10 5 1 4 11 9 +2 16
4 Atlético Fabiana 10 2 6 2 10 11 −1 12
5 Guarani 10 2 5 3 7 9 −2 11
6 Magnesia Unuigintaj 10 1 2 7 8 19 −11 5

Megamania teams show surprising strength in the first stage, as Shadow Blade Shinobi also top their group. Modelle Australes started out badly and tried a last-gasp recovery, losing out on goal difference to Egalité Galicienne, a team from Soterópolis in Oropa França e Bahia.

. E Pld W D L GF GA GD Pts
1 FK Gretta Zveda 10 8 2 0 24 4 +20 26
2 Computeroom Vectors 10 4 6 0 11 5 +6 18

3 Sem-Fim 10 5 2 3 22 9 +13 17
4 Matthew City Rangers 10 5 1 4 17 11 +6 16
5 Dahaka 10 2 1 7 7 17 −10 7
6 Melenenses 10 0 0 10 2 37 −35 0

The group looked like a wash for Rangers and Gretta Zveda, but ended up being so only for one of them, as surprise outfit Computeroom Vectors comes from Mobian Nations to boot both Rangers and OFB champions Sem-Fim. It's the first time Sunrise ends up with no teams in the second stage. Melenenses ends up with the dubious distinction of having the worst ever campaign of any team in the Heritage Cup so far.

. F Pld W D L GF GA GD Pts
1 Esperohiro 10 5 3 2 11 7 +4 18
2 São Perebano 10 5 3 2 13 10 +3 18

3 Yanagyuto Regices 10 4 1 5 12 11 +1 13
4 Dynamo Marmyzhi 10 2 6 2 10 10 0 12
5 Kobayashi Primeapes 10 2 5 3 13 13 0 11
6 Kingstown Rangers 10 2 2 6 12 20 −8 8

Another country that shows strength in this stage is Hueland, as both their teams led their groups. First one being Esperohiro, which edged favorites São Perebano by one goal of difference in the last day. Between the both of them, there wasn't much space for the two Mangetsu teams, who bow out early in the same group.

. G Pld W D L GF GA GD Pts
1 Home Port 10 7 2 1 20 9 +11 23
2 31 Cudmundópolis 10 7 1 2 23 6 +17 22

3 União Ahly 10 6 4 0 20 7 +13 22
4 Neo Niger 10 4 0 6 6 14 −8 12
5 Machon Gevura 10 2 1 7 4 14 −10 7
6 E.C. Vumtha 10 0 0 10 1 24 −23 0

E.C. Vumtha will take their solitary goal as a trophy back home to faFfictania, but what União Ahly wanted was five extra goals. As it stands, both Ultiman teams bow out in first stage. Home Port led the group comfortably until near the end.

. H Pld W D L GF GA GD Pts
1 Gibemoni 10 6 3 1 18 10 +8 21
2 Junfan Evergrande 10 6 2 2 15 8 +7 20

3 Zill 10 5 2 3 16 11 +5 17
4 Cooper Thievery 10 4 4 2 20 10 +10 16
5 Basco de Taubaté 10 1 3 6 5 11 −6 6
6 Tuesday FC 10 1 0 9 5 29 −24 3

The Hue is strong with this championship, Gibemoni snatching their ticket early and not letting go of it. Not so strong is Zill, who was expected to breach first stage in what was seen as a relatively easy group, but couldn't catch up with Junfan Evergrande at all.

Gibemoni (HUE) 0–1 31 Cudmundópolis (CPV)
31 Cudmundópolis (CPV) 1–1 Gibemoni (HUE) (2–1 agg)

Saint Pauli minnows Ituano continue their great run by beating the Protomen in the round of 16. Campos, another smaller outfit from Barra e Janeiro, does the same with the other Megamanian team; Both qualified teams from Megamania and Hueland were eliminated, while both Capivaran teams reach next round in convincing fashion. The big surprise of the stage is Computeroom Vectors, the first team from Mobian Nations to reach this far. Korriga, so far favorites in the championship and the last team from the two top organizations, end up bowing down early.

QUARTER-FINALS

. Dakota-Salt (SAJ) 0–0 Ituano (SPA)
Ituano (SPA) 0–1 Dakota-Salt (SAJ) (0-1 agg)

Egalité Galicienne (OFB) 1–1 Campos (BEJ)

Junfan Evergrande (CHU) 0–2 31 Cudmundópolis (CPV)
31 Cudmundópolis (CPV) 3–0 Junfan Evergrande (CHU) (5-0 agg)

Ituano's run reaches an end against Dakota-Salt from Saint-Anne and Jacob, but Campos continue to show their pluck by reaching the semi-finals at the expense of Egalité Galicienne. On the other leg, 31 Cudmundópolis and São Perebano prepare to make an all-Capivara semi-final after defeating their respective adversaries in convincing fashion.

SEMI-FINALS

. Dakota-Salt (SAJ) 0–1 Campos (BEJ)
Campos (BEJ) 1–0 Dakota-Salt (SAJ) (2-0 agg)

São Perebano (CPV) 3–0 31 Cudmundópolis (CPV)
31 Cudmundópolis (CPV) 0–2 São Perebano (CPV) (0-5 agg)

Campos kills another giant by going through Dakota-Salt on both legs and reach the final on a confidence high; however, their adversaries are mighty São Perebano, who dismantled 31 Cudmundópolis to book the other spot.

THIRD PLACE MATCH
Protoman Stadium, Giga City, Megamania
Dakota-Salt (SAJ) 0–1 31 Cudmundópolis (CPV)

FINAL

4 Chords, 18x2 Teams
(Plus or minus.)

Diframz TU: (tried to keep believing that they could stay up. Should really have stopped.)
Deahpild TU: Our team is brilliant, they'll still do more. So let's not hold back, go on and score.
Stirvik TU: Forever young, watch our kids win, forever young.
Munnerput TU: We won't hesitate no more, no more, sure we'll do great, let's score.
Attergav Numa: Last day, the Red Stripes held us. Too much defending. No chance, no hope, no glory, no happy ending.
Stivarnel GU: Yeah, we were amazing, and we made amazing climbs.
Retatyn TU: If we could, then we would, we would go all around the globe.
Buzhrumpus GU: Can we find a glove tonight?
Rogglebo TU: And you'll all fit in, yeah you'll all fit in.
Ungalb Tratbongent: Though we won't draw, what's it to you. Let's build up a wall so they can't break through.
Brayntel TU: Cause we don't care, winning or losing.
Brandith GU: Whenever you fall at our feet then you just dive.
Brayntel TU: Are we not pretty enough? Are our kits too stupid?
Brandith TU: If you're out of time and having trouble, we might sign you on a free.
Stivarnel GU: Sometimes we feel like there's no derby partner.
Attereg GU: That's the way it's going to be, here midtable. We'll match up against all forces, yeah.
Ungalb Devsgrybe: No women, no cry.
Nithgard GU: Oh, yes, this surely is a team.
Attereg GU: We come from a city down south.
Ungalb Tratbongent: Once a moody sailor sulked by the loading docks.
Nithgard GU/Munnerput TU: Take on us (when we come around). Take us on (when we come around). We'll go top beating you tonight.
Ousteeble TU/Diframz TU: Make saves tonight (It's gonna take a lot to push us away from you) and park the bus here on our lawn. Tomorrow we'll stay up but you'll be gone. (We're eleven strong, you never know what we can do)
Ungalb Devsgrybe/Buzhrumpus GU: Now you aren't all boys (You're playing derbies with me.) We don't think you could understand (That's okay cause we are not a good team.)
Perntav Marna: Visit many towns but our fans wear frowns because we do not have crowns and we're playing like we're clowns.
Brandith GU: We're here for the fans' entertainment. You don't really want to mess with us tonight.
Retatyn TU: Can't quite reach, can't quite reach, no we can't reach that seventh place.
Deahpild TU: So, I'm thinking, let's go drinking.
Perntav Marna TU: Lost and insecure, who crowned us? Who found us?
Rogglebo TU: We'll get a wingback, woohoo, we'll get a forward, woohoo, we'll build the midfield, woohoo.
Stirvik TU: (Who cares, they're just kids...uh, hold on, kids who won the Youth Cup! Staying in Earent! This calls for a special commemoration!)

We are just kids
Running on our feet towards it
Making the fans so proud
And you know they sing loud
They like to watch us playing
We beat the Gulls and Giants
Lie back, defend, not taking chances.

Control the ball
Until you can put speed on it
A stand full of fans roaring till we're scoring
Control the ball
Until you get a read on it
We hear what their pleas wanted; play undaunted.

The Akkerplot!'s cold
But energy delivers
So we're going up
We thought it was worth mention
Memories made
The future's now, the future's here
Parkatsee, too
Youth talent's raised and not bought
If you thought it wouldn't work a lot
Then guess not.

Control the ball
Until you get a spin from it
A stand full of fans cheering, maybe jeering
Control the ball
Until you get a read on it
As if those fans stand needing to be leading

Control the field
Beat Schwarzgelben and Nordmanner
Their stand full of fans caring till they're flaring
Control the field
Until we raise up our banner
Their stand full of fans ranting till they're chanting

Control yourselves
Take what you need from each other
Till you go in new directions, make connections
Control yourself
Though spread apart from each other,
One family, one team...

(We now return you to your regularly scheduled parody, already in progress.)
Ungalb Parkatsee: Take your plastic bags, take your plastic bags, take your plastic bags, and get litter everywhere. Take your plastic bags.
Atteregav Numa: Nothing's fine, we've lost. We're all out of place. This is how we feel, we're second and we're shamed. Though we're high above the floor, potential never changed into something real. So close, so far, and we can see--
Ousteeble TU: We might make you bored, but things should be plain.
Nithgard GU: We are Nithgard! We are Nithgard! We are Nithgard, Kaynd, the storm!
Ungalb Parkatsee: And doesn't that sound familiar? Not close enough, away or home
Doesn't it make you wonder; how our kids could've grown?
And doesn't it seem peculiar when everyone wants a little more?
It's something we do remember, to try and go that far,
That's all it takes to be a star!

We inadvertently attempted to promote Breskelion GU to the second division last season, but they were already there. We thought we'd promote Divlayn TU instead, but they were in the second division last season too (and got relegated). So instead, we considered promoting Hepsint TU, who were pathetic the last time they came up, and that was also apparently a mistake on our part. We were happy for them to return, briefly. However, we realized we hadn't given the anonymous third division teams a fair shot, and once they entered consideration, Sebalin TU went up instead.

SUNRISIAN FOOTBALL
New Tiers, Expansions, Rich People: Sunrisian Championship A, 15th season, OH MY!

15 seasons ago, Northern Sunrise Islands had just emerged on Europeia for reasons unknown and started their football league there. With a rather expansive pyramid on its way, would you even imagine that our first game ever in this system was between two under-21 teams? Yes, back in the first season, our first game ever was back at the old Allejo Stadium, whose grounds were taken down before being repackaged as the Union Stadium as the minister's schemes suddenly popped up, the Demonocracy of Metal under-21 squad, later being bought and repackaged as the Matthew Ctiy Senators tied with the Northern Sunrise Islands under-21 squad. The first goal was scored by young midfielder Nathanael Lewis, for the then Marills team. The Marills themselves did write a new chapter in NSI's history by being the first champion, though the title would end up on the Pikachus' lap when the team's rights to play as a professional squad were canned in favor of actual pro teams and clubatizing became a word.

One could even remember how in the early days, the league was always under increasing numbers, with teams like the Mist City Floatzels being doomed from the start, falling through relegations like crazy. While that feature wasn't carried on the later seasons, the Floatzels were the league's joke for a good while. Brentwood Charizards were also a rather fun team, always skipping relegation on the last days. Who knew that these Charizards would even later pull rather acceptable perfomances and even play internationally? Early days underdogs certainly have made their tale. With only three seasons in, the same Zombies who tied on that match and also would end up in the last position of the table back in the early days would also win two trophies as the Senators, becoming the first team to have an impact outside. They would also be followed by their rivals the Rangers, the team out of the capital Mardi Lopunnies, Froslasses, Venassaurs, Stilwater, almost all. The Athenians would however make the biggest noise by beating Yuba United at the grandest stage of them all. And as a homage to that, though with some limitations, the NSIFC has finally officialized a wall of retired numbers, even with some honors to old talents.

Image

While some of the numbers were already retired by the teams, it's now all official. The first number was of Farf international Fryí Frêndê, considered highly as one of the first big stars of Sunrisian football. While starting as a player for the Mardi Lopunnies, he would later trade the team's colors for the green and yellow of the Neuville Scythers citing personal reasons. However his consistency and aid justified his number being retired. About foreign stars, Joan Gerland is also a relevant name outside. A member of the Zwangzug national team, her number was also the first one retired together by the NSIFC and her team, the Matthew City Senators. The Sens also retired a number last season but now, with the permission of the NSIFC, won't need to use the number 8 again, retired in favor of legendary Apoxian Ken Rickwright, responsible for a CEdC for the east side of the Old Nowhere, featuring the #atlast8isyours in honor of this player. Closing off the foreign numbers, we have one of the responsible figures for last season's Boston United title Yun Dong Lee. After spending years of his life devoted to the team out of New Capitalia, he now happens to be the first retired number of the team, number 11.

Maybe the last number on this wall needs to be more talked about. Back in the old days, football was brought by a group of Mytannars fleeing from their land. Not too long after that, a league was started but it would end up closed at the 90s after strong depression and a lack of agreement between teams. However, events would be later carried on from it. That's where Ayeville Pikachus enter. Before Ayeville Pikachus, two teams represented the city at a national league: AYECO (Ayeville Electricity Company) and Ayeville City. While the other team had a rather considerable stint, AYECO's stint at the league was cut short following a bus accident, the first tragedy of Sunrisian football, where a good number of the team's players did not survive the crash. The year was 74 and Ayeville Pikachus now has number 74 retired as a way of respect to the old roster, even if they were rather known from being terrible players.

To a way lighter new thing, Thunchester City is the team that has hit jackpot this season. Surprisingly enough, a nearby millionaire decided to save the team from irrelevance by buying it and made some changes to the once-failing squad. Only problem? Old fans. The new owner, Mark Lillard, Jr. has been more into the chance of turning the team into the "Team of Partick", promoting changes to the team's style, kits and what not. Took both sides a while until Jr. agreed with a couple of rather good deals with the new team formed by the fans, named Thunchester Wanderers. Lillard, Jr. was rather bitter about it stating that the fans were trying to screw the big team from its future as the team of Partick. Once asked why he thought the team would grow to such point, the new owner simply stated "Eh, I guess it'll work.".

Image

Favorite-wise, Thunchester leaped to the position after bringing Audioslavian NTer Hufdis Uulver. Even though the foreign striker is young, it's believed he'll do wonders with the all-foreign squad of Nick DeJesus from Super-Llamaland under the bars, Estelle Nadeau, Zdenek Guernon and Joseph Patenaude on the defense, (another) Café from Dainer on the middle with Alex Guggenheim from Taeshan and Emanuel Belga from The Royal Barangay. Again, most things bar Thunchester are still like last season, if you really need a guide, check last season's results to know what we expect.

The last note is Project +90. Yeah. Remember of this Project back in the old days when we barely had a team? Yup. Now Project +90 has expanded through regions, now stepping on five regions, Esportiva (the usual majority, Northern Sunrise Islands, Felix, Apox, Yttribia, Gloriax, San Jose Guayabal, Nexxus Drako, New Sideburn and Sangti), Atlantian Oceania (Fligsive and Kjelstad, respectively at The Inevitable Syndicate and Audioslavia), Rushmore (Eura, next season though their roster will most likely be making an appearence at what we shall talk later), Pony Lands (Equestrian States, same case as Eura) and Aurora (Asahi, at Mizuyuki, same case of the latter two). For that, in case you're a fan and happen to be at Tiamare, Project +90 will host a Project +90 Cup at their facilities and outside, but still around the city. There's not much word on anything else.

Oh, yeah, we also have a new tier, but I think that by now you'd be used to it. One in the West and one in the East. Prepare yourself for numbers, it's the Sunrisian Championship!
Tails... Watch out, you're gonna crash, aaaaah!
Project +90 | Sunrise's Sportwires (shared with Dainer) | PokéCard ~ Label Guide
Champion: WC 75 and 76, U-15 WC 4 and 6, DBC 29 and 41
Now known as Kita-Hinode

GWFA League Season 2 Review
Super League
In an unpredictable season, it was Hemel Hempstead FC who won by 14 points, a substantial margian. This was down to the inconsistency of many of their rivals, who dropped points against each other. Below Hemel, Leavesden Rovers took a surprise 2nd, followed by Bovingdon, and Sporting Tudor. Watford FC will be a little disappointed with 5th, but not as disappointed as St Albans City, in 10th, or even last season’s 3rd place team Chiswell Green FC, who finished 14th, and are relegated. Joining Chiswell Green in relegation are Nascot Wood United FC, and Harlequin Islanders.

National Division 1
Stanborough FC spent all season in the Top 2, and returned to the top flight immediately. Joining them are Cassio Club, who surprised a few with good displays, who now get their first chance in the Super League. In the playoffs, newly-relegated Vicarage FC and Jarman Park FC were joined by Rickmansworth Rovers FC, and the surprise Apsley FC, making a 2nd appearance in the playoffs in as many seasons.
Near the bottom, the East Coast duo of Bury Lake Mariners FC and Batchwood Rovers FC never looked like staying up. The 3rd relegation spot was a fight between Hatfield FC, Nash Mills FC and Galleria Football, with cameo appearances by London Colney FC. It was Hatfield FC who ultimately lost out, facing next season in the third tier.
The playoffs were widely expected to be a fight between Vicarage FC and Jarman Park FC in the final. However, Jarman Park FC lost to Rickmansworth in the semi-finals, and the Rovers pulled off a shock win against Vicarage FC, to take themselves into the Super League for the first time.

Garston Rangers FC and North Mymms FC showed the gulf in quality between them and the 14 new pro teams by dominating the league, taking both automatic promotion spots with ease. It was a fight between them for the title, a fight North Mymms FC won by 2 points.
The promotion playoff for the first new pro team to make it into the second tier was fought out by Harpenden FC, Verulam Legion, Bushey FC and Frogmore Rovers FC. It was Harpenden FC, who finished 3rd in the league, who won promotion, and will face next season in the 2nd tier.

GWFA Cup.
In the GWFA Cup, 32 amateur teams joined the 32 National Division 1 and 2 teams in Round 1, with 16 of the 64 teams making it to Round 3 to face off against the Super League teams. Of the 16 teams who made it into round 3, 2 of them, Harlequin Beachside and North Watford Amateurs were non-league sides. North Watford Amateurs pulled off a 4-3 win in Round 3, to make it into Round 4, going further than Watford FC, the main team of the capital. Eventually Hemel Hempstead made it a double for them, winning 3-2 against Bovindgon FC in the final.

Leadership changes cuz we can.

Matchday One: Three teams won by two goals. Of these, Spenson Suburbia, of the Globe Cup last season, were perhaps the most expected, and they dispatched Rovers United. In a match that was surprisingly fun and would set the tone for a couple sides, the Twineur Bugs were a little more bugbearish, easily slotting the first goal against Sporting Esper, through Candace Mulak-Santi. We were then treated to a defensive battle, as Jocelyn Chara-Fekapeu made several fine clearances for the Robins, and Evan Diallo was pressed into service all around the Bugs' midfield. Stirling Osfanto would add the second on a late counterattack for Twineur.

The most hilariously competent leaders of the day, however, were undoubtedly Trebuchet Cham. The Cabbas relentlessly attacked, at home against the Oxen, and Werner Geier managed two goals all on his own. 4-2 it finished, and Cham were--at least jointly--top of the table.

Matchday Two: Okay. They took sole possession. And not just on goal difference either. Somehow the Cabbas were the only perfect team after two days, Jessica Wruck-Repp's goal enough to dispatch Arlington (who are going to show up in a lot of these games, and not for the right reasons. Although I guess if you suck, it's more likely someone will beat you to go top?) Anyway Arlington can't attack so that was plenty. Twineur were held to a draw in Keppal, with youngster Taylor Sariger-Heshik living up to the hype by scoring an early goal for the Cosmos. Mulak-Santi secured a half-point for the Bugs. As for Spenson, they were held to a sloppy draw in Sharag, in a match between two teams hoping to return to the Globe Cup and...neither trying very hard. Shekhar Ajant and Lina Kaur scored, picking up where they left off against Spenson last time, and it was Joyce Calle-Polp who scored a brace for the suburbians this time around.

At this point, Excelsior Slogda had yet to score. Or concede, actually. They fought their way to a tough draw in Canbix, with Hajna Lantos pressed into some nice saves for the Muses, and Bruce Millar--actually he might have already left Alaisti by then. You wouldn't think either of these sides would attack enough to require that much goalkeeping, but there you go.

Also back to matchday one because apparently we're not doing this in order after all, the same genius as two seasons ago had the idea to start with Bassabook-102d yet again. It was a home win for the hosts, with Grover Caenbaugh recording the only goal, while the fans went on about whatever it is they go on about. This time around it was probably something about how 102d are so terse they probably can't understand what the home fans were singing about anyway, which seemed like a waste of effort, but you never know what they're up to in Bassabook. Anyway BOB took some momentum into the second matchday against Excelsior Slogda, and held them to a shutout. Not the most impressive performance from Slogda, but then, there was no telling how good Bassabook would actually be.

Matchday Three: Okay moving on I guess. Cham finally dropped points, to the Bugs, who went top with another shutout, Cal McRondlepps and Nayeli Nacche scoring. Close behind Twineur lie Spenson, as Vinh Scesand-Tran scored the only goal against Sporting Esper. Just shy of them come Bassabook (Darren Cencell's the only goal, against Eintracht Trink), Canbix (Ramona Geideen versus the Rovers...look there were a lot of shutouts, okay?), and Keppal. Who needed two whole goals. And got them. From Sariger-Heshik. To see off Namiri Forest, come on.

Slogda got a shutout too, 3-0 in 102d, but they're not even hanging with that pack so whatever.

Twineur stayed in the lead on Matchday Four, by dint of not letting Arlington score, which isn't hard. They, Slogda, and Cham all had three points and four goals of difference; I guess they jumped ahead thanks to beating Cham, but Cham didn't fall behind Slogda because...reasons? Whatever. The Bugs would at least widen their lead outright the next matchday, with McRondlepps and Clifford Baqu both scoring braces. Another Nacche goal saw them easily handle FTC United, despite a pair for Rais-Sonnen and another goal for Martina Ruan. Slogda, still yet to concede, only had a Dunya Dratchler goal to take down Eintracht Trink. Trebuchet Cham still somehow kept pace with them, Geier and Reed Tiom-Ruma scoring against Spenson. Defender Percy Eskridge was the latter's only source of offense.

Matchday Six: Twineur hosted Namiri Forest, and got blanked--Ankita Naidu recording the only goal there. This meant that Ephesian FC's game would determine the new leaders. Sure enough, Loren Hurlbut scored for Ephesian...to secure a draw...counterbalancing Tiom-Ruma's goal. Yeah. Cham went top with the half-point.

Slogda, for their part, lost in Jingo to the Rovers, while elsewhere in the bitter center, Canbix got an away win in their pseudo-derby against Keppal thanks to Eliza Nibermori-Chan's goal. They pulled into second, behind the Cabbas on goal difference, and setting up a big match for the next week.

Matchday Seven: In another one of those "top-of-the-table clashes nobody saw coming," Canbix came home to take on Trebuchet Cham. And...pretty much cleaned up, with Geideen's hat trick enough on its own to beat the two goals from the Cabbas. Katie Raptis and Renee Leind-Fiske also scored. This was enough for the Nightriders to take sole possession. Elsewhere, 102d Jr.s got their first point of the season, defeating Sporting Esper at home.

Canbix would stay top the next round, with Raptis scoring the only goal in Arlington. And that would set up another one-two showdown...less weird than anything involving Cham, and an interesting tactical clash in its own right.

Matchday Nine: The Canbix Muses are a defensive team. There's no getting around that. But while they resort to all kinds of tactics to prevent their opponents from getting on the board, even they have standards. And where they draw the line is at any sort of time-wasting maneuvers. In this regard, the team they have the healthiest respect for is Twineur, who have a little more of the offensive life associated with an equally up-tempo style. Today, it was the Bugs visiting Groth Park and hoping to regain leadership. This they did, through a goal from Baqu. And despite the energetic play on both sides, there was no further scoring.

The next week, Twineur got to take an outright lead by shutting out Bassabook, while Canbix were held to a draw with Namiri Forest. A score draw! Raptis and Dipaka Muaz scored. I'm as surprised as you.

And Twineur would continue being Bugbears through the first half and beyond. The halfway point saw them atop the league, with that loss to Namiri Forest on matchday six still their only defeat. Slogda actually had more wins, recording their tenth at home against Ephesian. While Hurlbut and Terri McAlson scored for the visitors, Dratchler scored twice for Alaisti, and Vera Woredann added another in added time of the first half. Slogda would still be a half-point shy of Twineur at the top, however. Ephesian remained in fourth, which was as high as they'd climbed during the first half--an underwhelming title defense so far, with Rudolf Sternberg and company aging, but it's not like they're big on defense anyway. Canbix were third, having ground out a scoreless draw with bottom 102d that day. Behind Ephesian only on goal difference were Bassabook, marshalled by the ever-fearsome Rhonda Williams on the bench. You wouldn't think they'd have a female manager, but there you go. A win against Arlington thanks to a Guntur Nexog-Isau goal let Sporting Esper climb into sixth at halfway. Arlington's only win at that point had been on Matchday Three, when Iris McKien scored on FTC United. Five draws at least kept them a half-point above the Wiz Kids.

So another halfway pause to reflect on the international news. Ephesian FC got their cycle off with a bang, as they were drawn against AS Débardeurs Nationale in the third CC preliminary round. While we're normally not that xenophobic, Ossidiacqua has represented a more fearsome destination even under the best of circumstances. And, well, the one city most abjectly paranoid about visiting a club beset by increasing timewall chaos is also the one most prone to hiding its insecurities with takil. Ephesian duly built up a more than comfortable lead so that they could panic the next leg if need be, and actually managed to win that one too.

Meanwhile, Excelsior Slogda were reuniting with their friendly rivals, Atteregav Numa. While the gifted midfielder Tearim Kakyl managed two assists over the two legs, Vera Woredann came out on top of the defensive midfield clash, assisting two and coming up with several key tackles. Adelaide Korath-Lear would eventually score the winner for Alaisti.

Ephesian would actually need a five-goal showing to put Nestingham FC to rest; in retrospect, Slogda (who aren't really known for five-goal showings of their own) should have been taking better notes because they weren't going to accomplish it the same way. An early goal from Davi Keane-Liuprand got them well on their way, however, and two more assists from him would follow as Ephesian pulled it off. This brought them to the group stage, where they would take on Deahpild TU, who are almost as offensive if for different reasons. While Ephesian won out in the big competition, let's just say the Youth Cup stage more than showed which association has a more extant youth system and leave it at that.

In transfer news, Franklin Witchein-Coan departed for Fryi Frêndê, and Dennis Horkawer-Rippel left for Fligsive FC. Two more players also moved to The Inevitable Syndicate; Bruce Millar and Pasha Yakolev both transferring from Excelsior Slogda to Burgess FC. Millar, of course, is the international first-teamer. Yakolev was the throw-in, included when it became clear his nickname could be "The Yak," and if nobody in Slogda ever came up with the idea to call him the Yak from the mountains then they didn't deserve to keep him.

All right, then, back to the league. Twineur stayed top through macthday eighteen; the next week, however, their early lead earned through Baqu would be offset by Jake Milrowian (not Milrower, we, uh, changed our minds there) and Arlington, somehow relevant to the chase. This let Slogda take the lead, as they shut out FTC United with goals from Dratchler, Korath-Lear, and Bill McEgery.

The next week, it would be Canbix taking the lead, as Geideen (twice) and Leind-Fiske scored to beat Sporting Esper, limited to a goal for Colin Drahi-Ocrin. Slogda should really have had it in the bag, as Dratchler and McEgery had both scored by halftime. However, they were defeated by the feel-good story of last season and the feeling-bad story of this one. Literally. Kazue Harel's inspirational leadership turned out to be more of an intangible than asset for Eintracht Trink, as she battled injuries all season and wasn't able to accomplish much of anything. On this day, however, Nebenstimme would at least accomplish one turnaround. Two Liorit Wirth assists got them back in the game, and Shuya Stoppelbein scored the winner to displace Slogda from the top of the table.

As for Twineur, they really could have taken over leadership again, even with a draw. It was Arlo Rais-Sonnen who scored for FTC United (this was a east-side game), however--and sent the Bugs, so long leaders, into a tailspin.

Keppal defeated Ephesian, behind a couple of goals from Sariger-Heshik (and...in front of...? a goal from Keane-Liuprand), to move into a fourth-place logjam, just ahead of the Robins and Bassabook. After blowing several leads to Namiri Independent, BOB would come up with the winner through Horace Qotemei in stoppage time, to prevail 4-3. Ephesian are in seventh, a half-point shy of that crowd.

Matchday Twenty-Six: while Canbix led through the ensuing sixth, they would lose on a goal from Scesand-Tran of the suburbians, to fall behind Slogda on goal difference. Alaisti got two more goals of difference from beating Arlington, with Dratchler and Woredann scoring (as well as Claire Treith for Arlington, and Korath-Lear to equalize for Slogda). And since we last heard from the Bugs, they'd lost to Spenson (Globe Cup entrants a couple seasons ago with Namiri Independent, neither great since), Ephesian, and Canbix. This time around, they were in the lead thanks to Osfanto, but Janet McButio scored for a mostly-inert 102d to embarrass the Bugs further. In part it's nerves, but a lot of these players were around for the runner-up finish a few seasons back, and it had to be heartbreaking to watch them throw it away.

The next week, the incoming top four would all face off. Canbix got things off to a good start by Raptis scoring from distance against Ephesian FC, and Geideen would add another shortly thereafter. Twineur, nervous, tried to likewise quicken their pace down in Craton, only to be met with a goal from McEgery. And Raptis scored again to close out the Muses' win; they remained behind Slogda on goal difference. Ephesian were mathematically eliminated, and dropped to fifth, behind Bassabook, who again had to scramble at the end to make it 4-3 through Marc Leacock.

Then Qotemei totally scored in stoppage time again to make it 5-3 over Spenson.

The following matchday would see Bassabook take on Ephesian...and Bassabook really, really work hard to make it 4-3 in extra time, after braces from Hurlbut and Cencell were supplemented by goals from Leacock and Angela Kachi-Yan. But that time around, there would be no spectacular coda, and the draw eliminated BOB from the title race. Twineur, for their part, jumped out to an early lead through Nacche, only to be stunned when Wirth scored for Eintracht Trink. The wind went out of their sails at that point, and they sort of stood around blankly until the whistle sounded to confirm their elimination. They were still on pace to be the highest-seeded Globe Cup team at this point, mind you, which isn't bad for a team that was thirteenth last season.

This means that the top two actually did accomplish something. Sort of. Canbix ground out a scoreless draw in the east FTC, while Dratchler scored in what some waggish pundits called the hardest possible circumstances--Slogda's trip to Guariday. Except not really because they'd pretty much finish at opposite ends of the table. I'm not sure what the hardest circumstances actually are, I mean, Canbix and FTC United couldn't score today, so...I don't know what that makes them. Whatever.

Slogda won their last home game of the campaign, Nadine Roark scoring a long goal against Spenson Suburbia. Canbix needed a draw to stay in mathematical contention, although the goal difference was going to be a problem to make up even then.

It didn't matter.

In the noisy clash, it was Bassabook who thumped Canbix, three goals to none. Cencell, Connor Ohme, and Leacock would all score, as the song parodies grew ever more raucous (while vaguely genteel in their own little way). If they weren't going to win the thing, the high-decibel joy of eliminating Canbix was a decent consolation.

As importantly, McKien scored for Arlington to let them clinch fifteenth, and ensure that 102d would come dead last. Maybe, for Bassabook fans, that's what really matters. 102d themselves were losing to Ephesian, who remained fourth, while the stunned Bugs quietly lost in Mockba, to the Rovers.

The last day of the season saw what had been billed as a potential title-decider, but turned out to mostly matter for Ephesian's Globe Cup seeding. Sure enough, their attack won the day, as they potted five past a Slogda team that stayed focused enough to manage three of their own. 102d held Canbix, and Arlington held Sporting Esper, to scoreless draws. Bassabook blew an early lead to a couple Rais-Sonnen goals for the Oxen, slipping back to fourth. Twineur lost to Namiri Independent, and go home with nothing.

So the top three were the same teams that always win--Slogda, Canbix, and Ephesian, but at least in this order it's a little novel. As has been the case the last couple seasons, it's the next three that are a pleasant surprise--Bassabook, Sporting Esper, and even Twineur, so long leaders only to fade in the home stretch. It's thanks to breakout performances from defenders like Ohme and Chara-Fekapeu, and maybe defensive midfielders like Diallo, that there's some entertaining turnover in the ranks of the Globe Cup entrants.

But at the end of the day, all credit must go to Alaisti. Those two scoreless draws to start the season would be their only draws, in the end, as their defense handled most comers and they created plenty of goals as well, despite their approach. Even without Millar or the Yak, they were able to win it all. Heck, even without Matilda Kratochvil, who took off after the Globe Cup quarterfinals to lead the national team to...um...

Let's just think about them winning the league and reaching the Globe Cup quarterfinals, and leave it at that. Oh, and the fact that the Audioslav press likes their name. That's important too.

Barunia (BAU) qualifiers
Champions’ Cup: West Bay Mariners
Globe Cup: Trinity Saints, Northern Tridents
Series B Champions’ Cup: Tildos Ravens, Woodvale Wolves

Full results here

After the controversy that surrounded the ninth season of the BFL, the unprecedented decision was made to re-run the whole season. In Season 9.5, West Bay finally earned themselves some silverware. It's been a long time coming from the side from the bay region of West Tildos, who missed out on the first community cup after losing the final to Porthaven. The side, led by national team skipper Yohan Marris, stole the lead from the Trinity Saints and managed to hold on to see out the season on top. Season 8 title holders the Western Orcas were dropped to fourth place, a position they were all to familiar with before their sudden rise, while newly promoted Newland FC had little impact on the big league.

KNL Season 21-22 Preview

Season 19-20 Internationals

Last season, Mazaj and Alara, surprise champions, qualified for the Champions' Cup, while Tangku, Ajongka (another surprise) and Kol played in the Globe Cup. Maethoru and Branvun, the usual strongholds, did not finish top 3 in both the Apertura and Clausura and had a season without international football.

Kol was the first Ko-orenite club to come in action: against the Ameran Fighting Jiraffas. Kol won both games (1-3 away, 1-0 home) to move on to the second preliminary. In the same week, Jattulnar played in the SBCC and kept Riis to a 1-1 draw away, and won 2-0 at home.

In the Champions' Cup, both Mazaj and Alara survived their first round. Mazaj beat North Island FC in the Champions' path 0-3 and 2-1 (two victories), and Alara ran into the Conquistadores in the first round (not really an opponent you want to play in your first CC game). Still, after two 0-0 draws, Alara scored the golden goal and advanced. In the Globe Cup, Kol was still the only Ko-orenite club that had to play, and they eliminated Freetown FC over two games (4-1 win, 3-1 loss). In the SBCC, Arelothun secured a third preliminary round game, while Jattulnar went out against Eura's Thagarnia.

In the next round, Mazaj went to the playoff round by taking care of Lymantatia's Laurentia FC (0-1 win, 2-2 draw) and Alara lost 3-0 against Issington, a score they could not correct in the second leg (0-0). Kol still marched on, through the Trottingham Pirates from the Equestrian States. Ajongka also finally played and won two games against Jelle. Iliju got to the playoff round of the SBCC while Arelothun and Jofa both dropped out.

The next week saw Mazaj play SC Oceanside for a place in the Champions' Cup. Now it is not exactly a given that a Ko-orenite club plays in this competition, so it is always nice to see a team get to the playoffs in the first place. Our modest 30th place in the coefficient list also does not signify a solid Champions' Cup league. But Mazaj pulled it off: a 2-0 win and a 0-0 draw, and Mazaj were the lowest ranked team in the Champions' Cup, with a coefficient half of the 31st seed! In the Globe Cup, Ajongka was the only club to strand. Kol, Tangku and Alara all surived another round, and are now in the qualifying round. Iliju, the only surviving Ko-orenite club in the SBCC, beat the City of Steel for a group phase spot.

In the week of SBCC and CC group draws, only the remaining Globe Cup teams had another qualifying round. Ko-orenite still had three teams in. Tangku was the only of the three who started with a home game, which still was no reason for concern: 3-2 win. Alara lost their first leg 2-0 at Excelsior Slogda and Kol lost 3-2 at VLC FC. None of the three managed to win their second leg. We go from three to zero in 90 minutes. As for the draws: Mazaj doesn't matter as they will always have a difficult draw (but is in Group C with SK Franz Josef City, Turoki United and Dwile Warriors). Iliju is drawn into Group H of the SBCC.

Through some miracle, Mazaj not just survived the group stage, but finished second and that means that while they were 32nd seed with half the coefficient ranking points of the 31st seed, they are still doing something right. Possibly this was the fact that no team could get the better of them in Ko-oren: a 0-0 draw, a 2-1 and a 1-0 win. As for away games: two losses and one draw (against SK Franz Josef City). Iliju finishes last in their SBCC group, despite having 7 points. Even the Mazaj youth team advance: they finish second in what looks like an exact copy of the Champions' Cup group.

In the Round of 16, Mazaj put up a hell of a fight: the first leg is a home game, which they win 2-1. The second is a 2-1 victory for Stirvik TU, and the game goes to extra time. Stirvik scores a 116th minute winner, and knock out the last remaining Ko-orenite club.

KNL1 teams
Maethoru - The Pines need to recover from a Champions' Cup-less season. And that while they had all the opportunity to focus on the league... they finished 10th and 5th.

Branvun - The Ambers have the same problem as Maethoru. Eternal stronghold of the KNL, but their 6th and 11th finishes in season 19-20 tell otherwise.

Liju - The Clouds have had a good season, but fell out of international football on the last day. Two fourth place finishes, while you need a third place for Globe Cup football, one spot missed by a point, another by four goals. After a season of last-minute failure, how will they bounce back?

Kangutsu - The 'only good Eastern team' is back after a 5th and a 6th place finish. If they keep doing what they are doing, Globe Cup might not be out of the question.

Jeknolr - de Blauwen fell down to 11th and 7th. With Alara, Mazaj, Ajongka and other rising teams, is their top 10 spot no longer a given?

Othushun - 'Thunder' needs a new nickname. They are no longer the top 3 challenging team. They are now midtable, having suffered a fate that Jeknolr could suffer this season.

Insin - the Math Teachers - no, really - have been a relatively anonymous side since their promotion into the KNL1. This didn't change last season, but they finished 18th to miss the relegation playoffs, they also finished 9th though.

Kol - the Eyesores, for playing in blue and orange, had a surprising season last Clausura. Can they keep it up, or will they drop out of the top 10 altogether? You never know with these guys.

Norilya - the Tropicals were consistent last time: 12th and 13th. Not something their fans were happy with, and they need to find the way back up soon.

Ajongka - the Tristates finished second in the Clausura last season, and held on for a while in the Globe Cup. Their initial 17th place finish in the Apertura is long forgotten by the fans, who like this new Ajongka.

Jofa - Their win streak (7) saw them finish first easily in the Apertura of the KNL2. They secured their championship three weeks before the end, after which they used some new players and dropped some points.

Tangku - The Suns relegated to the KNL2 for some reason. One season they're in the Globe Cup, the next they have to travel to tiny villages to play some semi-professional football. Last season they were back, with a 2nd place (!) and a 16th place in the KNL1.

Tkhon - All Blacks, who are turning into a solid KNL1 side. Previously thought to immediately relegate into the KNL2, but now they have been part of the highest level for a while.

Kthosl - Two consistent 8th place finishes, the fans can't complain. One lucky streak and they are in the Globe Cup... One unlucky streak and they might face relegation. With the Ko-oren Capitals stuck in the KNL2, they now have the weight of the pride of the capital city to carry.

Saiwu - the Fury need to get its fury back. A 12th and a 15th place finish, so nothing special to them. They are just managing at the highest level now.

Mazaj - they are the Improbables, for a reason. One of the first teams to promote to the KNL1, still here, got a few titles, played in the second round of the Champions' Cup, and clinched the Clausura title. They were 3rd in the Apertura season, so they were simply the best of the last season.

Iliju - Clausura KNL2 champions. They want to challenge Ajongka, but first they need to get their team going. They finished 15th in the KNL2 Apertura earlier, you know.

Arelothun - They promoted through the playoffs. They have been a part of the KNL1 since forever, but now they just have to challenge the other teams from their state (Tangku, Norilya).

Alara - more Blue teams... and Alara is one of the best of them. The Apertura title, yet no Champions' Cup spot. After their title in the Apertura, they fell down to 14th in the Clausura. They really need to stay consistent - even though they had no reason after already securing the CC playoff spot.

Engbrothun - Smaller brother of Branvun, they just want to enjoy the ride after yo-yoing up and down the KNL1 and 2. Now they finished 15th and 17th... consistent, a hell of a ride to avoid relegation, but they are still in.

Gloriax (GLX) final site bids
Champions' Cup: Titania Arena, (120,000)

The largest stadium in the country, the Titania Arena plays home to the Gloriax national soccer team. Also, its huge seating capacity makes it a heavenly experience for any team playing there.

The Titania Arena has seen many developments in the recent past, and with the new and revamped MLG coming into the scene, it has changed drastically. "We're aiming for the World Cup final, one day; and we've set our hopes very high" say the CEO of the TA board, Carolyn Monroe.

With beautifully layered, and structured galleries, the stadium is a joy. The final (if given to the TA) will see huge festivities in the stadium. With about 100,000 NSD worth of firecrackers to be burst, it's going to be a festival of lights at the opening ceremony. The stands will see distinct divsions between the two rival clubs' supporters, and the anthems of both the clubs and that of the Champions' Cup itself will be played.

Which is why we're here. The greatest club Cup in the NationStates world. The UICA Champions' Cup. We promise you, it will be wonderful.

For this event, the GSA and the Gloriaxian government has also collaborated between themselves to provide world-class facitlies to travelling visitiors from all over the multiverse. The subways, the metro railways, the taxi/cab system and all the state buses will be re-decorated with historical pictures of previous historical finals of the UICA Champions' Cup. Also, all public transportation will be significantly increased to accommodate the influx of visitors.

Security will be one of the main priorities for the Gloriaxian Government this UICA Champions' Cup final. Special forces, Secret ops, and 30% of the Army will be directly appointed to security of the city, in preparation for any unprecendented terror attacks. Also, a furhter 30% will be at our disposal to deploy at extreme conditions. Be assured, come to Gloriax safely.

Globe Cup: Campos Stadia, (65,000)
Home to the most successful club in the history of Gloriaxian football, the Campos Stadia might be small, but is a beautiful piece of architecture. The stadia stands out of the sprawling meadows surrounding it. The recent money coming in from tie-ups with Guayabalian sponsors has made it one of the most conditioned stadiums available in the nation.

With state-of-the art stands, the Campos Stadia is show of Gloriaxian architectural brilliance. Curvy edges, snappy galleries, and a scope for distinct division of fans in the stadium for security (from riots, etc.) makes it one of the best around. Besides all this, the stadium will offer all the facilities declared above for the Champions Cup bid. It will be fantastic. Come to Gloriax, be amazed.

KNL Season 21-22

State Championships

Ift - Endev AM - Chungu - Tkhon - Kthosl - Tejunlor - Jeknolr - Jofa - Thlotjuk - Kangutsu - Saiwu - Laridju - Obu - Blizzard - Engbrothun

Wui will be kicking themselves over not winning their State: they are the only professional side in there. Chungu claim a good win in Aj Uin over Ajongka and Iliju, two KNL1 sides. In Maethoru, as always Maethoru (team) should have done better. Minato-shi and Tkhon reach the final, with Katrun and Maethoru losing in the semis.

Kthosl face Jattulnar already in the first round, which they win. After that, it is a worriless run to the final against fellow KNL1 team Insin. Othushun is, with Arelothun, the most hotly contested State: Othushun often wins this but they fell to Tejunlor in the extra time of the final. Kol squeeze by amateur side Middle Kolkath, and go out against Othushun. Enkl have a good run as well, winning 4-0 in the first round and then eliminating Alara (so many good teams in this one!), but fall short in the semis. Jeknolr is a populous state, but one without many professional teams. Jeknolr and Mazaj often have a nice run until the final or until they meet each other, but this time Mazaj falls 0-1 to Kadsik in round 1. Jeknolr eventually win the State, with 4-0, 3-1 and 4-1 wins.

Rabth is the smallest Northern region, with three professional teams. The only amateur side come close to winning the State: they get to the final where they eventually lose on penalties to Jofa. In Vnoskjulung, the team Vnoskjulung reach the final with a 6-1 victory in the semis. Thlotjuk eventually snatches the win away from them in a 3-2 final.

Kangutsu have another flawless last check before the season starts: 4-0 and 1-0 and they win their State once again. Uzhotu face Saiwu in the final, two talented teams: this time, Saiwu comes away with a win. Laridju wins in Hogone State, a state with just three professional teams that frankly all do not seem to be successful soon. Sishinova, then, sees Obu edge out over Suvira in the final (0-1).

Arelothun: the best State with Othushun, 16 teams in the first round. Rainbow go out in the second round after they relegated to KNL2 last season. Tangku reach the semis, while Norilya go one step further to the final. Blizzard is the strongest team for now: a 3-0 victory over Tangku and a 1-0 victory in the final. The we have Engbrothun State, with Branvun: they win 6-0 and 4-0, and concede their first goal in the final (0-1 to Engbrothun). They will have some tough days until the season starts: their fans will not like them losing the final to newly promoted neighbors Engbrothun.

Apertura

September
The 20 kick off in September, after the State Championships are completed in the first half of the month. After just three match days, all there is scheduled in the first month, Maethoru, Alara, Jeknolr, Kol, Kangutsu, Engbrothun and Jofa are 3-0-0 and especially the last two seem to be doing extremely well. Player of the month: Kangutsu's midfielder Elim Norilyin, instrumental in the success of his club.

October
Another five match days later, we see the first contours of the season become clear. Kthosl, Jeknolr and Ajongka are doing very well, profiting off of a bad streak by Maethoru. Branvun is nowhere to be seen, and are 3-2-3 after the eight days. Jeknolr striker Tyrgin Gachirinian is player of the month, for two hattricks in five weeks.

November
Another five match days in this month: the schedule is tight. Not just these five games, but there is also an international schedule, and the Cup runs as well. 13 match days done, with just six to go (so basically on two-thirds of the Apertura). Kangutsu have fallen back after a promising start, and the same went for Engbrothun. The latter have lost all their November games, even. Kthosl is the big team of the month, they rake in 5 wins, together with October they sit on 7 in a row, and they keep Jeknolr away in a direct game (2-0 win). Maethoru found their form again and moved up to second, behind Kthosl. Alara and Ajongka both go 3-1-1 in November and seem to be doing very well. Othushun is nowhere to be seen: what should be a top 10 finish has become a nightmare. 4 losses in November alone, with just 1 game ending in a win for the Thunder. Stefan Blanke, Kthosl defender, is the player of the month for keeping his defense together despite his young age (20).

December
Three matchdays in December. Christmas rolls around and everyone enjoys a week off, with the final three matchdays to be played in January. The weather is rainy, cold, windy, which especially has an effect on the Eastern teams, who fare well when it's sunny. The Western teams are usually at their best in December and January, and Maethoru confirm their top 3 finish in December. Ajongka move up to fourth, Kangutsu move down to ninth. Jofa are 15th, with one point gathered in the entire month. Iliju, from the same city as Ajongka, hoped to do some business in the cold, but they return emptyhanded with four points in three games in their favorite month. The first Maethoru player receives his player of the month award: Tarl Rakoren.

January
Three remaining match days, a few cup games in between and the start of the Clausura: it's a busy month, as always. The Apertura is done, and we see Kthosl indeed coming in first with a 3-0 win over Norilya on day 19. Jeknolr win 2-1 against Tangku, and Maethoru records a 3-3 draw against Alara. This last game was the highlight of day 19: the 3rd versus the 4th. The Pines and the Blues both come away well with their 3rd and 4th spot,
Ajongka loses on the last day and drops to 5th. Kol, Liju, Branvun, Kangutsu and Tangku are the other teams in the top 10: Kangutsu wanted to do better, Ajongka expected to be worse. The biggest problem lies with Branvun: they are not even close to the team they once were (and still could be). With three good appearances, Kthosl's Jurin Ishoren takes the final Player of the Month award in the Apertura.

Clausura

February
February is a calm month with 'just' four games. Branvun's trouble has inspired them: the Ambers claim four victories, including a 2-1 win over Kthosl. Liju and Tangku also seem to be doing a lot better than during the Apertura, while Kthosl knows it will play in the Champions' Cup, so they do not have any pressure anymore. Othushun also wants to show their fans what they can do, even though relegation is unavoidable at this point,
following their 20th place in the Apertura. Some of the minor problems with the format, but what can we do about it? Branvun confirm their good start with old fart Naemasu Tokachi grabbing Player of the Month award.

March
Spring rolls around, and with five match days in March, we have a total of 10 games played. Halfway the Clausura, Branvun indeed is going strong and they beat Maethoru 3-1 in this period. Alara loses 5-1 to Liju, confirming both Alara's demise and Liju's strong series. Jurkhen Bohanan is player of the month, he and Liju are doing fantastic.

April
The league is almost done: 75% underway. Still no club that managed to secure two Player of the Month awards... as always, this is everyone's season. Everyone? Not exactly. Iliju, 18th in the Apertura, are not exactly doing well with the warmer weather around, and they drop to 20th together with Saiwu. Insin and Jofa are also not doing too well, and the entire group of teams in 15th to 18th in the Apertura are now 17th to 20th. Meanwhile, Tangku are still on the way up. Four wins in four games, and all of a sudden, their horrible Apertura can be countered with a Globe Cup playoff spot in the Clausura. Yoshio Takeuchi is rewarded for his efforts, and the Suns player (Tangku) is the best of the month.

May
Four more days, and only one match day to go in June, almost all teams are done. Saiwu and Iliju see the gap between their 19th/20th places and Insin in 18th grow to a massive 6 points, while Branvun pulls ahead of the competition on the brighter side of the league and claim the Championship and the Champions' Cup spot 3 days before the last match day. They have conceded just 10 in 18, and the already defensive KNL sees another bus parking team get away with the win. They deserved it though, as they also are the top goal-scoring side. Again, not by much, but Futushi Musashi, the Ambers' defender, gets a few assists and is the Player of the Month.

June
On the last day, we confirm what we already know. Iliju relegates, Branvun is the champion by far (what happened to their 8th Apertura finish?) and Liju and Maethoru finish in that order for the Globe Cup playoffs. Tangku and Kthosl finish off well, and Alara can pride itself on two top 6 finishes this season. Even Othushun recovered from their bad Apertura, and finish 8th (but still relegate).

KNL2

On the second level of Ko-orenite football, Hurricane and Diamond Dust secure promotion to the KNL1 as Apertura and Clausura champions, respectively. Sraltlur comes close, but has to do with an SBCC spot. Suvira and Rainbow come close to promoting right back up to KNL1, but finish 3rd. If you thought the KNL1 was random: Diamond Dust claim the Clausura championship after finishing 14th in the Apertura. Simultaneously, Hurricane drops down from 1st to 16th after their Apertura championship. Mayara and Tejunlor relegate, with Minato-shi, Uzhotu and Jattulnar avoiding relegation (wait a second, Jattulnar promoted, didn't it? Yes, they were 2nd in the Apertura, 19th in the Clausura).

KNL3
Katrun and Laridju take the places of Mayara and Tejunlor. The State Youth teams are doing better again, and Arelothun's feeder team (that is, Arelothun state, not Arelothun club) finishes 4th, but still 13 points shy of the championship. On the other hand, both the Northern and Southern division's 20th placed teams are youth teams: Jeknolr and Ong. Enlifl gets the wooden spoon: the worst semi-professional team in the pyramid. State Youth teams play in the 3rd division for the experience, but cannot promote. Enlifl, with 39 points in 38 games, are the worst non-youth team.

Greater Ko-orenite Cup

Alara wins the cup after their remarkably consistent season. Their road to the final was a 0-2 win at Sratlur in the first Ko-orenite playoff, and a tense 3-4 extra time win at Iliju. Back when Iliju was doing good, in late autumn. Diamond Dust, the yoyo team of the KNL2, is Alara's Round of 32 victim. In the Round of 32, all eight conferences come together: not just Ko-oren, but also the territories of Arhoren, Taloren, Irithoren, Skyvinduryoren, Zakhoren and Thaulandi. In the Round of 16, Alara plays their second home game, but again they have a Ko-orenite opponent. Kol loses 1-0. The quarterfinals, in April, see Alara win 2-1 against Minato-shi, and 16 Tower and 9 Tower represent Thaulandi with two teams in the semifinals. The last semifinalist is Arhoren Autumn Yellow. Arhoren, with just two teams in the Cup system altogether, is usually completely eliminated in the Round of 32/16. A semifinal team? Unthinkable. But it happens.

We get to the mid-April semifinals, and the two Thaulandian clubs both play at home. Which also means they do not play each other. Alara gets a good 0-2 win at 9 Tower, while 16 Tower beats Arhoren AY in the 78th minute: 1-0.

The final ends in 0-0, but Alara is the golden goal scoring team. 1-0 win for the Ko-orenites, and the Thaulandians came so close to their first Cup win. Oroken Khoriostilun is the MVP of the Season 21-22 Cup, defender for Alara.

Ko-oren (KOR) qualifiers
Champions’ Cup: Branvun, Kthosl
Globe Cup: Jeknolr, Liju, Maethoru
Series B Champions’ Cup: Diamond Dust, Sraltlur, Hurricane, Jattulnar

Cygnus Cup: Alara
AOCL: Branvun

Kyte Cup: Enlifl

Ko-oren(KOR) final site bids

Globe Cup: National Stadium, Ko-oren City, Ko-oren (34,000 Capacity)
Another year, another attempt to get a Cup final to Ko-oren. Too small for the Champions' Cup, large enough for the Globe Cup. The stadium hosts the successful national team, the Greater Ko-orenite Cup final, and whatever else they can fit in between.

Cygnus Cup: Thunder Arena, Esthauan, Ko-oren (27,000 Capacity)
The third largest stadium in Ko-oren, the Thunder Arena is the home stadium for Jeknolr, a Globe Cup-quality team. The stadium is located in the city centre, in the middle of the city's central park.

New SchiavOne
Season 2

The smallest domestic league in the multiverse is back! And this time, thanks to the voluntary agreement put in place by the Schiavone Football Federation with regards to the UICA's regualtions on qualification through sporting merit, there is more pressure on the team finishing second to perform, even if they have been tailed off before the end of the season.

Monarchs go into the season as defending champions, going on a late surge to beat Yellow Stars with one game to spare. Both teams also did equally well in UICA competition, qualifying for the third preliminary round of the Globe Cup.

So, another season of two teams playing each other, week after week. How interesting can it be? Well, this season has been extended to twenty-eight games - eight after World Cup Qualifying and twenty the following year after the Cup of Harmony.

MD1 - Monarchs 0–0 Yellow Stars This season, like the one that went before, starts with a draw. This one, however, is goalless and pretty dull as the teams try and get up with the game after a long season of internationals.

MD8 - Yellow Stars 4-3 Monarchs After an even start, Yellow Stars begin to surge ahead. Their positive team spirit shows in this encounter - the final one before the season break. Three-one down, a second-half hat-trick from Charlotte Chester gives Yellow Stars their fourth win in a run of five unbeaten.

MD10 - Yellow Stars 1–0 Monarchs Yellow Stars just can't stop! Bjørn-Morten Tomasson knocks in the only goal to give them their seventh win in ten games, and they are already eighteen points clear at the top. For two teams who seem so evenly matched, some pundits seem convinced that the season is over, and that Monarchs will do well just to get into UICA competition.

MD13 - Monarchs 3–2 Yellow Stars Three wins in a row for Monarchs, and the gap is back down to nine points - still not close enough to qualify for UICA were the season to finish at this point - but this battling victory, with a Benny Sanderson free-kick sealing the win, showed that Monarchs might still have something to offer this season.

MD20 - Yellow Stars 2-3 Monarchs The gap is still nine, but this is the first time since matchday three that Monarchs have been above the UICA qualification mark - two-thirds of the leaders' points. Another tense encounter settled in unlikely fashion - the ever-reliable Tony Cueto mis-placing a backpass to Julio Howard in the last minute of normal time, and Alexa Leau pouncing to slot home.

MD23 - Monarchs 2–3 Yellow Stars Ten games after Monarchs edge a tight one to come back within nine points, Yellow Stars do the same to return the to-and-fro gap back to nine with just five to play. Tony Cueto makes up for his error three weeks previously with what was probably the goal of the season - hit from all of thirty-five yards - to win this one.

MD25 - Monarchs 7–2 Yellow Stars Now we've got a title race! The most comprehensive victory of the season sees Monarchs within three points of their rivals with just three to play. This included a hat-trick of penalties for Benny Sanderson, as back up centre-back Sala Ramao - a converted Garundi kickball player - has a shocker. It also gives Monarchs the edge in goal difference.

MD26 - Yellow Stars 2–3 Monarchs After being eighteen points down at one stage, Monarchs draw level with Yellow Stars following yet another three-two! This time, John Blige proved to be the difference - his pace ripped apart a rather leadden-footed Yellow Stars defence through the first half of this. Despite a Tarmey-inspired comeback in the second half, Monarchs hold on. Two games to go, and the teams are level.

MD27 - Monarchs 2–2 Yellow Stars Two nervous defences in the first half sees mistakes at both ends, and a goal-filled forty-five minutes. Monarchs lead through Aimee Bell, Tomasson and Chester put Yellow Stars in front before Conrad Hogan levels it again. But with so much to play for, fear takes over, and the second half becomes a damp squib. All down to the last game we go.

MD28 - Yellow Stars 2–5 Monarchs Yellow Stars need a win to become champions - any other result gives it to Monarchs on goal difference. They start off well - Chester converting an Emma Trevor cross. Then Monarchs take control. Aimee Bell from a Sanderson through ball; Hogan heads in from a corner; Dylan Bell scores on the counter attack. Three-one at half time, Yellow Stars go for it. Tarmey scores a free-kick. But with time running out and players committed forwards, John Blige runs clear to score a fourth for Monarchs, before Sanderson seals the win late on. The comeback is complete, and Monarchs defy the odds that were against them sixteen weeks previously to take the title by just three points.

New SchiavOne Season 2 Pld W D L GF GA GD Pts
1 Monarchs 28 11 7 10 61 52 +9 40
2 Yellow Stars 28 10 7 11 52 61 −9 37

Well, it seemed a shame to have a winner and a loser after that season, but Monarchs retain their title in the most dramatic of fashions. This from a team who had their place in the Globe Cup in doubt for long parts of the season - if this one had been the same length as the previous one, then they would only have made it into the Globe Cup on the final day.

But champions they are. Commiserations go to Yellow Stars, who are submitted to the UICA for inclusion in the Globe Cup, finishing well within the two-thirds cut-off that the SFF use as their marker for sporting merit.

With Schiavonia expanding as a nation, the SchiavOne will also be expanding next season. The league will feature three teams made up of Garundi kickball players (Garundia Kickball, Redskins and Valae Volcanoes), two cash-backed Cafundélese-Schiavone teams (46ers and Petardos S/A Craw) and the Schiavone cricket team, who will be playing under the name Cricket Schiavonia. The expansion will see four teams enter international competition for the following season, as this would reach Schiavonia's allocated quota, and also fit in with their UICA agreement of submitting no more than 50% of the league as entries, should the league expand beyond four teams.

As the teams had formed during the second part of the league campaign - inspired by the excitement of many of the games - the SFF invited all of the teams involved to The Field for the second ever Cueto Cup. The winners would be submitted by the SFF to enter the Cygnus Cup, though if the winners were not to be one of the two established teams, then they would not also be submitted to the Globe Cup, on the grounds that it would be totally taking the piss to submit three teams from a nation with only two teams in their league.

Cueto Cup 2

Quarter-Finals

Petardos S/A Craw 4–3 46ers
Cricket Schiavonia 0–1 Monarchs
Redskins 1–3 Garundia Kickball
Valae Volcanoes 2–6 Yellow Stars

Semi-Finals
Petardos S/A Craw 1–1 Monarchs (1–2 AET)
Garundia Kickball 1–3 Yellow Stars

Final
Monarchs 1–0 Yellow Stars

So it's a league and cup double for Monarchs, who rested key players in earlier rounds to be ready for the final, almost paid for it in the semi before overcoming their league rivals - who had played full-strength line-ups throughout - in the final.

Schiavonia (SCV) qualifiers
Champions’ Cup 54: Monarchs
Globe Cup 51: Yellow Stars
Cygnus Cup 29: Monarchs
AOCL: Monarchs

REAL CINTORE vs REAL TIAGOSAN
Estadio Olimpico, Sangti, The Royal Barangay

Two Respana Viejo rivals faced each other for the coveted Supercopa. Real Cintore grabbed their inagural league title to participate in their second Supercopa, while Real Tiagosan defeated Los Verdes at the Estadio Olimpico to win their first Copa del Barangay. The two last faced in the final of the Copa, where Las Aguilas defeated the Cintore club, 3-2, after their initial meeting, the last day of the league that gave the latter their league title ended in a 3-3 draw. With the match taking place at the same venue as the Copa final, Real Tiagosan hope that they would repeat their success over their seasoned rivals.

Past Results:
2013 - Racing Xinghua Baoyam 0-2 Rambo Pesgem

2015 - Not held
2017 - Deportivo Nespa 0–0 Real Cintore (0–2 AET)

Before the match started, a one minute of silence was observed in memory of Pedrito Mariano, the chairman of the KPMB who was presumed dead as the remains of the plane are still missing, and with no signs of it, it was very impossible to conclude that he was still alive. Adrian Tuprio, COO for football affairs, delivered a speech regarding the new Liga Pangunlad (lit. Developmental League; Tier 6) and new regulations (speech at the annex of this post).

The two teams started the match with exchanging attacks in the first ten minutes. The Cintore strikers kept new kid Chapin Roch busy between the sticks, with Kristian Marabella and Joey Jardinico threatening to open the scoring. Gert Kwan found space in the fifteenth minute, but failed to capitalise with his shot not even threatening Marty Balido at goal. Los Verdes went on an attacking spree, not letting their opponents take even a sniff in attack, and was justly rewarded with a Kristian Marabella goal in the thirtieth minute. Jared Anderson played a beautiful cross into the box, and the striker got his head onto the ball, with Roch failing to immediately react. Halftime ended at 1-0 in favor of Real Cintore.

When action resumed in the second half, it was still Los Verdes making their chances. However, in the 54th minute, Las Aguilas nearly equalized. Kid Marchadesch evaded many of his opponents, and found himself space inside the penalty area, but the shot was much to be desired - he sent the ball over the frame of the goal. That threat almost turned the match's tide, with Tiagosan now heading the attack. However, Cintore made breathing space with another goal in the seventy-sixth minute, Marabella's second goal was enough to put Tiagosan away and win the Supercopa.

Real Cintore 2–0 Real Tiagosan
RCI: Marabella (30', 76')

Subs:
RCI - Mateo for Estores (60'), Isip for Jardinico (74'), Agup for Tisang (87')
RTI - Yparraguirre for Kwan (62'), Buencamino for Marchadesch (70'), Datu for Leynes (82')

Annex A
Speech of Adrian Tuprio, COO for Football Affairs, KPMB

Good afternoon.

First of all, I would like to offer our deepest condolences to the family of Mr. Pedrito Mariano, chief of the Konsehong Pamapalakasan ng Maharlikang Barangay (KPMB), who was pronounced missing after a government plane hit the waters in an unknown location. We are looking to give the family any form of contribution to make his family feel better. For that, the matches of the Liga Maharlika Primera on Matchday 1, as well as this match, will observe a one minute of silence.

Second, I would like to announce the creation of the sixth tier of Barangayan League Pyramid. There will be special provisions regarding Project +90 Sangti, they can be promoted and relegated, however, the highest league that the club can only be placed is the Liga Maharlika Tercera. They can also enter the Copa del Barangay, without restrictions, however, should they win the cup, their place in the Supercopa will be taken up by the runner-up club in the Primera.

Finally, I am announcing a revision in the tiebreakers of all leagues in The Royal Barangay, which will be as follows:
  • Points
  • Matches between teams (H2H points, H2H GD)
  • Goal difference
  • Wins

This will be effective this season onwards.

Thank you and good luck to the two teams in the Supercopa.

League Run: Champions
Cup Run: First Round
Stadium: Privateer Arena
Manager: Rainer Claude
Captain: Harold Barton
Player of the Year: Harold Barton
Top Scorer: Rachel Byrne (20)

Marque have been in the ascendancy since the very beginning of the A-League joining the UICA. Everyone knew this - but winning the league? That, most thought, was a step further than most had expected - Kingsgrove were firm favourites to retain the title, Northern Union second, Marque dark horses at best. But it was the Pirates that snuck in at the end, winning by a single point in the end. Rainer Claude did it all while retaining his aggressive principles and his 4-4-2 formation. The players constantly played out of their skins all year, and it’s hard to fault them. The question will be, of course, if they can defend the title? Most are inclined to disagree. Barton, the former Maximum City midfielder both captain and best player, just technically a step ahead of the rest of the side, will be 32 - not ancient, but flagging. Favoured full-backs Norcliff and Newman are in their thirties as well. But apart from some age concerns, Marque will enter the next year the way they entered this one; dark horses, ones to watch, and maybe capable of a surprise or two...

League Run: 2nd
Cup Run: Second Round
Stadium: Royal Park
Manager: Cate Bardsley
Captain: Duke Finney
Player of the Year: Niccolo Gardella
Top Scorer: Cheney Rath (19)

Despite a very strong run through UICA competition, setting a best for Brenecian teams to date, Kingsgrove were so close but so far away from defending their title - one point and one goal seperated Marque from them. But there’s plenty of good points to take away from the season - Niccolo Gardella and Isadora Cullen were deadly in attack, too good for most of the league’s defences, while in-form striker Cheney Rath netted a tally of nineteen. The defence was not without silver linings either - of the five penalties Kingsgrove conceded, Tony Cochran actually saved four. Still - this season is a setback. Not a major one, but a setback.

League Run: 3rd
Cup Run: Semi-finals
Stadium: Lotus Park
Manager: Keith Braidbury
Captain: Kevin Broxham
Player of the Year: Rook Harrington
Top Scorer: Rachel Steele (17)

After sinking back to obscurity last season, Lotus Park’s cup win salvaged UICA competition for them - this season they’ve come back stronger than ever to reclaim it purely through their league place. Steele and Axton were in the form they lacked last season - combined they scored just 19 last season, which Steele nearly managed alone this time around - and managed to win fixtures through pace, short passing and when all else failed sheer grit. They’ll look to retain their place next season - top six looks a dead certainty.
Most Common XI
(4-4-2) 1 - Clifton; 13 - Harrington, 6 - Meggs, 5 - Lennon, 3 - Sutton; 7 - Maitland, 4 - Lundgren, 8 - Ryall, 11 - Broxham (c); 9 - Steele, 10 - Axton

League Run: 4th
Cup Run: Runners-up
Manager: Althea Reader
Stadium: Union Park
Player of the Year: Rhea Lockhart
Top Scorer: Jack Carver (15)

Lewis Keenan found himself one of just a couple managerial casualties of the season - dumped when his title challenge flagged. Veteran manager in the First Division, Althea Reader returned to manage at home for the first time and whipped the team into a strong defensive shape - little could salvage the season by that point, but a UICA Cup place is at least some consolation. They did have the strongest defense in the league, Oakley and Vanderton the best centreback pairing in the league since… Rinehart and Vanderton, but they’ll need to shape up going forward. A deal for Felix Carrick already seems to have been agreed, but they’ll need new blood up front. Maybe even some of their strong academy prospects...
Most Common XI
(4-3-3) 1 - Clifford; 18 - Faulkner, 5 - Vanderton, 6 - Oakley, 3 - Lockhart; 8 - Kilroy, 4 - Delaney (c), 10 - Matthews; 7 - Griffin, 14 - Carver, 11 - Meadows

League Run: 5th
Cup Run: Quarter-finals
Stadium: Southfield
Manager: Phoebe Osbourne
Captain: Gareth Kitchener
Player of the Year: Tamara Lynn Rhodes
Top Scorer: Anna Bowman (14)

Phoebe Osbourne carries on where Gareth Conway left off - her Southerners continued to play an aggressive, assertive pressing game that many teams struggled to deal with. But the former assistant’s season wasn’t perfect - rumours of a dressing-room split late on as they entered an eight match winless spell that cost them a UICA place may well haunt them next season. Still - they should be ready for the next season, come what may. But perhaps not looking to challenge for the title just yet...
Most Common XI
(4-4-2 diamond) 1 - Kitchener (c); 13 - Rhodes, 6 - Birch, 15 - Corren, 17 - Shaw; 4 - Keller; 8 - Bondfield, 11 - Aston; 10 - Ruskin; 9 - Bowman, 7 - Ricko Janeiro

League Run: 6th
Cup Run: First Round
Stadium: Rosary Stadium
Manager: Sander Muenchausen
Captain: Lucas St. James
Player of the Year: Fiona Parrish
Top Scorer: Gregor Lexus, Fiona Parrish (13)

A venerable squad (two 33-year old starters, a reliance on 36-year old Irongate in midfield and had they not signed Newrook’s Matt Roosevelt a 38-year old goalkeeper) managed to play their hearts out - Sideburnese manager Muenchausen cultivated a patient, low-tempo strategy that emphasised long, accurate passing. Not pretty, but definitely effective. That said, their standout player was a dynamic 23-year old midfielder. Fiona Parrish was strong enough in the midfield and a constant threat going forward to have been subject of some flirtation from Premiership sides. Their side was good enough for this season - but with a squad of this age, they need some major overhauling.
Most Common XI
(4-3-3) 21 - Roosevelt; 2 - St. James (c), 5 - Markus, 6 - Destin, 3 - Blacke; 7 - Parrish, 4 - Irongate, 13 - Vauxhall; 11 - Dell, 9 - Lexus, 10 - Kane

League Run: 7th
Cup Run: First Round
Stadium: Fenbrook Stadium
Manager: Vince Culloch
Captain: Rook Dietmar
Player of the Year: Kurtis Armstrong
Top Scorer: Chris Ravenhorst (14)

Hall went through a good season, largely on the backs of a strong few players that kept the rest of the squad honest. Culloch learned a love of rotation this season, and had the squad to best utilise it - players like Hart, Armstrong, Sturrock, Boeck and Ravenhorst were fixtures, while others shifted around them. Their edge in energy was usually clear to see on the field, and useful in their high-pressing, high-tempo play. Next season, if they continue to punch above their weight, they could genuinely go far.
Most Common XI
(4-2-3-1) 1 - Brunt; 2 - Cartell, 5 - Higgs, 12 - Hart, 3 - Kinsington; 4 - Armstrong, 6 - Dietmar (c); 7 - Lawless, 13 - Sturrock, 11 - Boeck; 9 - Ravenhorst

League Run: 8th
Cup Run: First Round
Stadium: The Ridge
Manager: Kevin Hull
Captain: Sylvia Fisher
Player of the Year: Luciana Camargo
Top Scorer: Markus Gallagher (16)

Despite facing criticism for an unclear set of philosophies and a reserved personality, Kevin Hull kept his job under fire and finished decently. A lot was owed to the chemistry of poacher Gallagher and the more deep-lying, supportive Camargo - despite their age (32 and 29), their technique is a cut above. Still - they will definitely be looking above, not below. If they can’t manage something better, then Hull will be fortunate to keep in a job.
Most Common XI
12 - Bullard; 18 - Windsor, 5 - Casson, 6 - Fisher (c), 3 - Dane; 7 - Harwick, 16 - Collin, 4 - Russ, 11 - Kell; 9 - Gallagher, 10 - Camargo

League Run: 9th
Cup Run: Second Round
Stadium: Seacastle
Manager: Marina Halloran
Captain: Andrea Weiss
Player of the Year: Ashleigh Kilcane
Top Scorer: Max Ruddock (12)

A balanced style leading to balanced results - Pikemouth were let down by poor finishing too often, but their steadfast defence usually kept things steady at the back. This does look like Ash Kilcane’s last season in the A-League, courting several offers from Premiership sides, but they still have the core of a strong squad able to maintain this position. So recently promoted, Pikemouth have already achieved… comfort.
Most Common XI
(4-4-2) 1 - Keane; 2 - Given, 12 - Bondfield, 6 - Kilcane, 3 - Marcher; 7 - Haines, 8 - Weiss (c), 4 - Kessler, 11 - Milner; 9 - Ruddock, 10 - Mackall

League Run: 10th
Cup Run: Second Round
Stadium: Strider Arena
Manager: Wilhelm Swagg
Captain: Andrea Norton
Player of the Year: Patricia Caleigh
Top Scorer: Robyn Gillard (13)

Without last season’s top scorer in Cheney Scherzer, North Rathia had to grit their teeth and carry on. They did so in their usual fashion, playing well to reach 10th due to a strong midseason run. A slightly weak start and end notwithstanding, Wilhelm Swagg will have few complaints, though he may well decide some changes are needed in defence - promising 23-year old Pat Caleigh too often proved necessary in goal.
Most Common XI
(4-3-3) 1 - Caleigh; 2 - Pickerton, 5 - Memphis, 6 - Norton (c), 3 - Pembroke; 14 - Church, 4 - Easton, 10 - Barr; 7 - Schima, 9 - Gillard, 11 - Brand

League Run: 11th
Cup Run: Third Round
Stadium: West Point
Manager: Tess Riether
Captain: Kevin Mallory
Player of the Year: Elsa Rowling
Top Scorer: Felix Schwarzenegger (9)

The Pikemen have enjoyed something of a revival under Sideburnese manager Tess Riether - brought in with about two-thirds of the season to play, she lifted the Pikemen back to form and into safe midtable. A key change she made to attack - Erik Finchan had scored just twice by the time she came in, with young Sideburnese striker Felix Schwarzenegger having scored once off the bench - elevating him to the first team, she unlocked his potential. He’s only twenty, and along with 23-year old winger Rowling, Westpike’s attack will only grow with time...
Most Common XI

League Run: 12th
Cup Run: Second Round
Stadium: Wanderland
Manager: Alexander Remington
Captain: Ruby Price
Player of the Year: Dacia Tarrant
Top Scorer: Dacia Tarrant (16)

The Wanderers have totally defied the odds. Alexander Remington, who always fancied himself as a wheeler-dealer, found Dacia Tarrant on a free transfer - released from Crisisbless United due to wage demands, she proved herself worth every pound this season, the 24-year old firing sixteen home. The defence, however, looked ropey at times, and Remington will back himself to use that transfer nous to find some new blood there.

League Run: 13th
Cup Run: Third Round
Stadium: Hunter Hall
Manager: Kieran Storrin
Captain: Sander Reucassel
Player of the Year: Portia Knight
Top Scorer: Harriet Marlborough (15)

A refreshingly buccaneering performance from Falkner, unrecognisable from four years ago. A strong, attack-minded and firmly feminine squad (of their most common eleven, eight were women), the Hunters came for midtable safety and reached it with time to spare. Credit to Kieran Storrin, whose overhauling of the squad is responsible for a total revival.
Most Common XI
(4-3-3) 1 - Pratchett; 2 - Bolingbroke, 6 - Reucassel (c), 19 - Tariff, 3 - Murtagh; 8 - Dawson, 13 - Muslin, 10 - Knight; 7 - Graves, 9 - Marlborough, 17 - Latham

League Run: 14th
Cup Run: Quarter-finals
Stadium: Violet Park
Manager: Dani Granger
Captain: Portia Malbranque
Player of the Year: Portia Malbranque
Top Scorer: Wren Gallagher (13)

Rozelle United came up, reached a safe position and clung to it. They owe a lot to their youth, boasting some bright talents in Burnley, Gallagher and Stockinger, but perhaps most credit is due to their veterans - Portia Malbranque, who cleared AFC Treason’s academy but was cut loose to float around the First Division, was Dani Granger’s first signing last season - the 31-year old was appointed captain this season and her performances surged with the pressure. They will probably perform about the same next season.
Most Common XI
(4-3-3) 12 - Burnley; 2 - Costell, 5 - Ulster, 17 - Stockinger, 19 - Buchan; 13 - Pembroke, 4 - Malbranque (c), 8 - Warne; 7 - Sparrow, 10 - Gallagher, 11 - Sutton

League Run: 15th
Cup Run: Second Round
Stadium: Southern Star Park
Manager: Raven Cullen
Captain: Andrew Taylor
Player of the Year: Kurtis Volker
Top Scorer: Kurtis Volker, Rook Colfer (12)

Keller left midseason for a contract at Maximum Rovers. Sutbyrne tanked under her assistant, interim manager James Laker, causing his interim to be cut shorter than originally planned. Raven Cullen, poached from NSB’s Rhagant Schadenfreude, steadied the ship. She did the job quietly then turned her attention to next season - in particular, she was open about having spoken personally to Sideburnese international Ella Bramwell, a legend at Rhagant.
Most Common XI
(4-3-3) 1 - Sanderton; 2 - Miller, 5 - Taylor (c), 6 - Mantel, 13 - Portadown; 8 - Windsor, 19 - Bolton, 10 - Ritcherson; 7 - Dochart, 12 - Colfer, 11 - Volker

League Run: 16th
Cup Run: First Round
Stadium: Saint’s Row
Manager: Vacant (Karel Clovis fired at end of season)
Captain: Mark Taylor
Player of the Year: Russ Consort
Top Scorer: Max Galloway, Matt Kilgallon, Paul Meixner (6)

Karel Clovis barely slowed the Saints’ descent enough to let them survive - the board calmly waited until the dust had settled with them in 16th, then axed him. Probably for the best - the next manager has a multitude of issues to deal with. Foremost among them, the defence - they need to keep ahold of Matt Kilgallon, the right winger the only player they have seemingly capable of getting enough goals (ending the season with seven assists, as well). There’s some shining lights in the youth - perhaps the key lies there?
Most Common XI
(4-3-3) 1 - Fairhall; 2 - Kinsett, 22 - Consort, 6 - Taylor (c), 16 - Branagh; 8 - Stokes, 4 - Sanderson, 13 - Meixner; 7 - Kilgallon, 15 - Galloway, 11 - Riva

League Run: 17th
Cup Run: Third Round
Stadium: The Grandstand
Manager: Paige Hildebrand
Captain: Mark Laish
Player of the Year: Gretel Andreas
Top Scorer: Avery Linbeck (8)

Mount Roland scored precisely twenty-two goals in the league, and were lucky to stay up. It fell to a First Division veteran in Paige Hildebrand to keep them up, though - they offered little signs of hope for next season, and are expected to be right in the mix to fight against the drop. They’ve given Edmund Pike, after the 36-year Brenecian international netted three this season (two off the bench), a one-year extension.
Most Common XI
(4-3-3) 1 - Newman; 2 - Bonds, 5 - Lawson, 6 - Gordon, 3 - Munn; 10 - Kent, 4 - Andreas, 8 - Laish (c); 7 - Roberts, 13 - Linbeck, 11 - Sands

League Run: 18th
Cup Run: Champions
Stadium: St. Hammond’s Park
Manager: Max Haywood
Captain: Rowena Stamper
Player of the Year: Rowena Stamper
Top Scorer: Esther Grant (12)

Cup winners, after desperate defending against Northern Union, sudden ferocity from Rosbank in extra time and a terrific double save from Julian Rushden, then victory on penalties with a miss from Carver and a save from Pavel Grisholm. But at the end of the day… Rosbank got relegated. Already among the favourites to be back next season - Max Haywood survives relegation with Rosbank for a second time, very possibly because of that Cup run.
Most Common XI (4-4-2) 1 - Kendrick; 2 - Brace, 5 - Kenna, 6 - Dieck, 3 - Booth; 7 - Martin, 8 - Stamper (c), 4 - Kinsett, 11 - Rudd; 9 - Kissinger, 10 - Grant

League Run: 19th
Cup Run: Semi-finals
Stadium: Seth Barr Stadium
Manager: Stein Lancaster (interim)
Captain: Damian Walsh
Player of the Year: Dave Cardiff
Top Scorer: Eileen Kewell (9)

John Luther bowed out with ten games to go, but Platwood’s form didn’t change under interim manager Lancaster. At the end of the day this was never a squad high on quality, and it could be a while before they’re back. They were… unremarkable, in this season and the last, and won’t be particularly missed.
Most Common XI
(4-3-3) 1 - Aloysius; 2 - Kentucker, 5 - Wright, 6 - Walsh (c), 3 - Lockhart; 17 - Cardiff, 4 - Fitzgerald, 10 - Fairweather; 7 - Vorn, 9 - Kewell, 11 - Wheaton

League Run: 20th
Cup Run: Third Round
Stadium: Fisherking Road
Manager: Vacant
Captain: Kieran Schrader
Player of the Year: Kieran Schrader
Top Scorer: Konrad Yorke (12)

The goals of 32-year old veteran Yorke couldn’t keep the Fishermen out of bottom place - they’ll most likely have to fight for promotion without captain Kieran Schrader, who has fielded a great deal of calls. They’ll need to search for a new manager, too - Wilhelm Hawkwood and his assistant, his brother Gerhard, departed by mutual consent at the end of the season.
Most Common XI
(4-4-2) 1 - Schrader (c); 23 - Given, 5 - Garrett, 6 - Bonds, 3 - Bell; 7 - Innes, 4 - Vatskalis, 8 - Stokes, 16 - Avery; 9 - Yorke, 10 - Sturrock
