Almghubaud, Nasiriyah Operation Shining Path had revealed many things to the Mahdavian High Command during it's battles with Al Hafa across most of the country. The insurgents were numerous and were growing each day that passed and were currently within Nasiriyah at 300,000 militants. The sixth army had deployed 50,000 of it's two million soldiers into Nasiriyah during the beginning of the insurrection and that had sufficed for the mean time. Now with the insurgents gaining a numerical advantage over the army it was time to increase it's presence in the country. With the will of Supreme President Ilhan it was allowed that the First Army Group was to move into the country and continue the objectives of Operation Shining Path.

This would mean that four hundred thousand Mahdavian soldiers from the sixth army would be deployed into the conflict, officially turning the numerical advantage into their favor. With these four hundred thousand fresh boots heading into the terrorist ravaged country, would be a new operation in the making for the next step against the Al Hafa insurgency in Nasiriyah. Currently four cities were being targeted by Operation Shining Path, where much of the fighting was centered around. With the new operation would mean more ground to cover that was predicted by military officials to "stretch the insurgent's lines thin" .

Casualties for the ongoing war on terror in Nasiriyah has cost the lives of 2,548 Mahdavian combat personnel killed in active duty. The hearts of the Imperial Emirate go out to the families of the fallen who's fathers, sons or daughters went to a foreign land to fight for their freedom and security. Insurgent casualties have been estimated to be more then 11,000 killed in action, but these numbers barely put a dent on the thousands more that take there place in the conflict. Operation Shining Path is due for it's conclusion by late March and for the new operation to be put into action sometime in April.

March 2, 2014 Torpedo damage to the UNS Adriana Buzkatri Island Naval Base: A Mahdavian naval base off the shore of mainland Mahdah came under fire today as elements of the Alkharanian Naval Task Force 'Echo' and Mahdavian clashed only a few short kilometers from the naval base. Three Alkharanian warships, UNS Adriana, Selekore, and Benevolence fired shots at the IENS cruiser, Vigilance, and two destroyers, the Osman and Harmony. The event occurred shortly after noon today when the three Alkharanian warships supposedly entered Mahdavian territorial waters. A patrol boat, assumed to be a pirated vessel at first, was sunk by Alkharanian fire when it approached the UNS Selekore. Charges were set in the water, which split the boat in half. All lives have been presumed lost. When the smoke cleared from the initial confrontation, three Mahdavian ship, two destroyers and a cruiser, had arrived on the scene. During the initial fire, the UNS Adriana suffered a torpedo hit, causing a gaping hole to form at the waterline. Further reports stated that the Adriana would still be able to sail under its own power and that the water intake was minimal. Nevertheless, the Selekore and Benevolence suffered minimal damage in the form of a Mahdavian attack helicopter. UNS Adriana before damage The Alkharanian populace has become outraged. Many citizens have even went as far as to suggest war, calling the Mahdavians 'infidels' and 'worthless pieces of trash.' Alkharanian-Mahdavian relations have always been strained. The two countries were once a part of a greater Alkharanian Empire. When Osman the Great, the Mahdavian leader in the early 1500's, began fighting for Mahdah's independence, the country eventually became free. The Alkharanian Empire itself had suffered immensely the previous hundred years, which led to a defeat in the Mahdavian War of Independence, one of few Alkharanian defeats in it's two thousand plus years of existence. Since Mahdavian independence had been declared, the two countries, to this day, maintain an immense hatred of one another even though, in recent years, there have been diplomatic and economic talks to improve Alkharanian-Mahdavian relations. After the death of dozens of Mahadavian and Alkharanian troops, communications between the two opposing countries was restored, and both sides agreed to cease their fire and let both sides ail home. Alkharanian Naval Forces were dealt a defeat, the first in many year. It was certainly a blow to Alkharanian morale, but fear not, for Alkharania will rise. Supreme Commander Oliver Melton briefly took the podium today in the Empyreal Courtroom to inform the country of the situation that has arisen. He spoke briefly, but his words were strong: "The naval skirmish today was a result of failed communications between both sides, which, as a result, costed the live of more than thirty Alkharanian sailors and an unidentified amount of Mahdavians. We assume their losses equate to our own. Nevertheless, the Mahdavian attack on our ships shall not go unnoticed. It was a blatant attack by an illegitimate country. I believe, personally, that both government will look to resolve this, whether it be by blood or paper. What happened today is a moment of mourning for the Alkharanian populace. Let our sailors rest in peace." Overall, thirty sailors were lost today in the skirmish. The UNS Adriana suffered a gaping whole, roughly forty feet wide. She also suffered the lost of twenty-eight crew member, almost all the lives lost. Two others were lost on board the Selekore as a result of the Mahdavian fire from helicopter. The commander of the small task force, Commander Trevor Von Likon is due in the Aleniako Empyreal Courtroom to brief the Senate on the incident. 13 Sailors Dead in the Aftermath of a Naval Skirmish in the Gulf

Augustupolis, IEM It had begun after noon today when three now identified as Alkharanian naval vessels sailed into Mahdavian territorial waters unannounced. Radar from the near by Buzkatri Island Naval Base that is just off the coast of the southern tip of the Mahdavian peninsula had picked up the unidentified vessels and reported it to a patrol of vessels already out at sea. A patrol boat that was in the area when the unidentified vessels entered there view had approached the vessel after trying to hail the ships several times and offering to escort them out.

When the patrol boat veered close to the vessels, one of them opened up with light machine gun fire and unguided rockets which heavily damaged the patrol boat leaving it dead in the water. The vessel then dropped depth charges which blew the boat apart in half and then sunk into the ocean. When they had immediately become under attack, near by vessels were hailed by a intense radio transmission from the patrol boat crew,

"ALL CALL SIGNS, ALL CALL SIGNS, THIS IS BADGER-1 WE ARE UNDER ATTACK BY UNIDENTIFIED VESSELS, REPEAT WE ARE UNDER ATTACK BY UNIDENTIFIED VESS-"

The transmission was cut short when the depth charges exploded instantly killing all personnel aboard and splitting the patrol boat in half. Thirteen sailors had been confirmed killed in action during the attack on the patrol boat, and when three Mahdavian vessels appeared on the scene which consisted of the IENS Osman , Harmony and Vigilance they immediately returned fire and engaged the three unidentified vessels as a attack helicopter from the Vigilance Cruiser was dispatched and circled the three ships spraying 30mm cannon fire.

The highlight of the engagement between the vessels was when the IENS Osman engaged the UNS Adriana with a Mk 48 Torpedo fired from one of it's launchers. The torpedo made a direct hit on the broadside of the enemy vessel leaving a gaping hole in it's side, after this turn of events the Alkharanian captain hailed the three Mahdavian warships and called for a ceasefire. The cease fire was agreed upon and the Alkharanians were allowed to leave the area.

Citizens were outraged at the incident and blamed the Alkharanians entirely for the skirmish, many wanted war and retribution for the unwarranted attack. Citizens went to calling the Alkharanians "Infidels" and "Unintelligent barbarians", when the Supreme President was asked about his feelings on the skirmish he had this to say,

"It is evident that the Alkharanian state has still not left the hatred of the past in the actual past. Today shows that the Alkharanians are even to this day trying to warrant a response and drag us into a possible brutal and short war between our two nations. I representing the will of His Majesty Lucid Augustus III and the Grand Assembly hereby condemn the outrageous behavior of the Alkharanian Navy and further condemn the United Empire as a whole for un warranted aggression against the Imperial Emirate and violating international protocol, that is all."

UBC: Jole- With announcements coming merely hours apart, the UAF concluded their swift and devastating invasions of the nations of Karein Alesia and the Republic of Rapturia by raising the Union flag over each of the respective capitals alongside the UE in the Rapturian capital. This follows intense fighting over the span of several weeks as UAF forces and military assets of the United Empire, moved cooperatively to forcefully remove two governments that have actively aided and housed terrorist organizations deemed hostile to the Union, UE, and Sondria. While the Southern Alkharian Wars, as they have been dubbed by the media, are far from over with the Reichstate of Rawneij still standing in opposition to Union and UE forces.

In Rapturia, UAF forces quickly gained air superiority in the opening moves of the offensive, destroying enemy air assets and facilities before moving onto a general campaign of targeted strikes against enemy military and warfighting asset. This paved the way for the overwhelming combination of UAF and UE ground forces supported by naval firepower as they pushed outflanked Rapturian forces into an ever decreasing vice, the last pocket of which collapsed several hours before UAF and UE tanks rolled triumphantly into their capital of Relocade. Resistance in the city was minimal, and quickly dispersed as UAF and UE forces cemented their control of the city by occupying and holding civil and defensive governmental assets while systematically removing weapons from the civilian populace.

This disarmament policy was justified by Supreme Commander Crogden who argued that loose weapons in the nation could lead to the rise of emboldened resistance or terrorist groups. The UAF had already begun the process of destroying recovered weapons left by Rapturian defense forces and stated that they intend to offer financial incentives for civilians to hand over any firearms they possess for a limited period before conducting sweeps to locate and destroy them.

The majority of the Rapturian government, including their president, has been captured by Union Special Forces. The exact nature of the capture or the units involved were not revealed to the media, but most analysts suspect that raids to capture top level government officials were carried out by Tactical Ranger Guardsmen. In Karein Alesia, several raids by what is thought to be the same units netted President Anthony Cockepeller and several other high level officials. One source stated that Cockepeller’s wife and children were shot during the raid by Union forces, however, this has yet to be verified, and Union High Command has made no statement on the matter.

Alesia, the capital of Karein ALesia, fell a few hours following the collapse of Relocade as once again, Union tanks led the triumphant charge into the city. Raising the Union flag, UAF forces had replicated their protocol of recovering and destroying weapons from defense forces and the civilian populace. The fight in KA overall cost the Union far more men and material, and while exact losses have yet to be tabulated, it is known that many more died here than in Rapturia.

Alesian forces put up a fanatical resistance as Union and UE forces pushed north and south respectively. Overland forces from the UE crossed into northern KA while a coordinated naval landing saw UAF forces storm the southern coast under heavy enemy fire. While UAF forces pushed north, a secondary landing on the central west coast placed a sizable UAF force in striking distance of the capital while also cutting off the retreat of KA forces in the south. The result was a crushing defeat for the surrounded KA forces.

The battle for Alkharania is not over, as Supreme Command Rockepeller announced intentions to carry the fight to Rawneij in cooperation with the United Empire who have already initiated combat operations against the Reichstate. Recent reports that Union Navy assets have already begin targeted strikes from the coast against defensive installations to pave the way for UAF invasion. Considering the strength of Rawneij in comparison to KA and Rapturia, it is thought the final stage of the campaign will take far longer and incur far more losses than the previous two offensives. Bearing this in mind, Crogden noted that this effort was not just for the good of the Union or the UE, but for all of Sondria.

March 12, 2014 Shortly after first sunlight, the Alkharanian Ministry of Defense issued a report on the situation arising down in Rawneij, the United Empire's latest target in it's war on terror. Just a few short weeks ago, assets of the Alkharanian 1st Division and 23rd mechanized infantry units began their siege on the capital, Riyadh. The capital, only 840,000 citizens strong, met Alkharanian armor with stiff resistance, even knocking out multiple Shivas and killing more than 7,500 soldiers, bringing the entire war casualties to more than 221,330, making it one of the bloodiest wars the country has ever fought. The Siege of Riyadh began three weeks ago as the Alkharanian military swept across the war-torn country. Riyadh, situated in the middle of Rawneij, was met with heavy aerial bombardment before land forces were sent in. After more than three weeks of fighting, Rawneij soldiers waved the white flag, signifying their surrender. In response, Alkharanian troops were rumored to have yelled out in joy, knowing that most of their jobs were soon to be over. Despite the capture of Riyadh, Rawneij will contain insurgents for many years to come. Nevertheless, with cooperation between the Union and United Empire, Southern Alkharania will eventually become a safe-haven from the horrors of war and terrorism. The Fall of Rawneij is but one part of the broader Southern Alkharanian Wars waged by the Union and United Empire on the nations Karein Alesia, Rapturia, and Rawniej. After a devastating terrorist strike on the Union embassy in the Alkharanian capital, Aleniako, the attacks were traced back to Southern Alkharania. Each nation was noted for their aggression and willingness to harbor terrorist and other international criminals. The war may appear over, but it is far from it. United Empire and Union troops will be working around the clock to rat out any remaining cells and putting them either to death, or to stand trial in the court of law. Nevertheless, many years will have gone by when the veil can finally be lifted on Southern Alkharania. New hopes and dreams, ambitions and plans unfolded

VILLA QUIRINI - After the admission and separation of the Great Republic from the grip of the Imperium, the latter's departure and disbandment of their troops residing in the country, the start of expansion in Sondria within, and the establishment of Fraternas Confederation were the highlights of the Comnenus administration. And now, the recent elections had determined the new legacy for Quirina to earn as the nation harvest more success.

Candidates that ran for the office were all competent enough for the position, but it required much over-intelligence to determine who is best for the position. Political parties became the hotbed of the most heated elections ever. First Consul Alexander Ferthem sided with the People's Liberation Party; Gabriel Felicana ran as standard-bearer of the Victorists, Sanzo de las Tunas under National Socialist Liberators' Party, and Amadeo Ranza under the Alliance for All Quirina.

The political parties that participated in the elections that competed for supranational elections were AAQ, PLP, NSLP, and the Victorists. The other parties and factions focused in the national level, such as the Revolutionary Proletariat Movement and the New People's Democratic Party, which were both bitter rivals with each other. The NPDP was the former PFDA (People's Democratic and Freedom Alliance) that usurped into power through election fraud in Viktorika last 3 years ago.

New rivalries erupted as politics became the country's hotbed to usher Quirina's development. The yellow-banded partisans of the right-wing PLP were up against the black-red NSLP after several times of engaging invited debates with each other in the Grandstands of each nation in Quirinese Sondria. The RPM white-reds were heavily heated against the yellow-red NPDP for releasing controversies against the incumbent Premier of Viktorika, who is RPM's supranational secretary general. The standard-bearers of each party were so astonishingly close with each other in the advantage of votes. AAQ's Amadeo Ranza won 2,672,367,549 votes, while Ferthem of PLP had 2,672,369,323 votes, and Felicana earned the third largest votes.

Ranza, who won the presidency, gave his speech in his inauguration after his victory amidst the messy elections that shook the country, turning the intelligent Quirinese society into a divided partisan state.

"Our dear Republic had face many odds. Dear Quirinese people, this is our time to emerge as a united country. Our cultures and advantages may separate us, but our hearts and dreams as one nation still remains as our solid ground why we are still here. Remember Yutzkil! The hour of our glorious journey continues. Beyond the doubt of our opposition, we stand affirmed and ready to take the lead towards a better Aerus, Sondria, and a better world. Other nations say, 'this is ours, those are theirs', but our Quirina only needs its foot to step and act on its dreams and ambitions without even uttering a single word. They pride of their successes after winning from word wars, but we Quirinese don't need further and nonsense dialogues. We act and do whatever it takes for us to achieve and do what is true and right for this country. Let this be one more. Our time is not yet over, for everyday is the beginning of a newer glory that awaits us."

In his speech also, he stated some plans like re-establishing economic ties with all of Aerus and Sondria through a series of personal dialogues with the leaders of Sondria, re-activate Quirina's participation in the Regional Council, improvement of infrastructure, development of defenses and arms manufacturing industry with the plans of land reclamation, and further territorial expansion through diplomatic means and GAP 2014.

When asked about the supposed expensive project of the outgoing Minister of War and Defense should be continued, he agreed and it will be the soonest. The project will have the country build two large multi-purpose military bases totally fit for security reasons. Another query was brought to him that Khujiristan will be the new subject and target of the GAP or Greater Annexation Project. He also never denied of such rumor and will be starting to coordinate with the High Military Command to start the preparations and furthermore, the military operations. (Khujiristan is the first extra-regional continent where Quirina expanded and currently hold three member-nations there: New Priminster, Barrameda and Alexana.)

VILLA QUIRINI - The new product of innovation and progress of the Halcyon Arms serving the defenses at the seas of Quirina has arrived last 3:09 am at the Defenders' Isle Naval Base. The Siege-class megacarrier GRS Amadeo Ranza had entered service of the Quirinese Armada of the AFGQR (Armed Forces of the Great Quirina Republic). Beyond the promises of the newly-elected President Ranza of fulfilling his duties, he was ashocked to know and was honored that the ship was named after him, even though he is still alive.

The Siege-class megacarrier will replace the function and supremacy of the long-serving Noble-class supercarrier that had been part of many military actions of Quirina overseas, but the latter shall still remain in service. There were about 2-3 Noble-classes that were currently held per nation in Quirina, some only one. The Siege, however, will be much more used in Sondria and might be available for more tasks involving international incidents.

The Curule President also mentioned before of his speech about defense improvements and development. The people, especially in the social media, mentioned that this new carrier was a fulfillment of his promise. But the Minister of War and Defense rebuked such, since the procurement of the carrier was only part of the agreement between Militum Quirinorum, the arms procurement agency of Quirina for AFGQR, and Halcyon Arms.

Another megacarrier of another class, the Sovereign-class, is part of the automatic procurement agreement of Militum and Halcyon.

UBC: Port Cronet- Speaking today at press conference following meetings with newly inaugurated Colonial Defense Force officers, President Christian Cranico made an unexpected and shocking statement that is sure to garner regional attention. Noting the passage of eight years since the conclusion of the Newcastle War and the passage of the Treaty of Echeron, President Cranico declared the treaty invalid and stated that the Union would refuse to abide by its provisions. This has lead to a mix of reactions within the Union, ranging from patriotic fervor to harsh condemnations by the leaders of the Liberal Democratic Party.

The Treaty of Echeron was passed to bring about a close to the destructive Newcastle War which saw tens of millions of deaths and massive destruction across the southern regions of the Union. With the signing of the Treaty of Echeron, the previously declared ceasefire was transitioned into a formal peace. However, as many officials and academics have pointed out over the years, the various provisions of the treaty were either pointlessly implemented or never enforced. There was no commission, organization, or body established to ensure compliance with the treaty, leaving the Union alone to carry on as normal as if the treaty did not even exist.

Cranico announced that the Union would no longer comply with the tonnage limit placed upon Union navy vessels, a provision that had been ignored for many years, and that the Union would cease yearly reparation payments to the nation of Onekawa-Nukanor. Speaking before the press, Cranico announced that, "We view many of the provisions of the Treaty of Echeron as outdated relics of a long forgotten era. Almost a decade has passed since the most devastating conflict in Sondrian history and in that time the international landscape of Sondria has taken a completely new face. Therefore, we see it in the best interests of the Union to cease compliance with certain aspects of the Treaty of Echeron, so henceforth, we formally disregard any limits placed on the Union Armed Forces and will cease all reparation payments towards nations named in the treaty."

"We must not forget, however, the strong ties built with our allies the Marquesans as a result of the social and economic reforms brought as a result of the Treaty of Echeron. We would like to stress that we will continue to uphold these aspects of the treaty in order to continue fostering better relations with our Triad allies. Royal Forces At Arms sets Condition Black!

In a bold move following the shocking storming of the Marquesan Embasy in The Emirate of Mahdah earlier this week, Akane Hyuga has declared war and deployed a massive force from this island. This morning, the Royal Forces at Arms set alert condition black for the first time in Sondrian history, indicating that no option including nuclear deployment would be left unconsidered by the Shogun and her cabinet. A force rumored to be nearly ten million strong has made an emergency rapid deployment from Pandora headed north; presumably to liberate the Emirate from its terrorist-backed dictatorship.

In a speech to the Diet this morning, Shogun Hyuga outlined the importance of Marquesan sovereignity abroad and the need to show gracious restraint in the Alkharanian theater. She was quoted as having said, "We are going into Mahdah to liberate, not to conquer; we will not fly our flags in their country. If we are ferocious in battle, we must remember to be magnanimous in victory. Alkharania is a continent steeped in history--we have an obligation to tread lightly there. It remains my foremost intention to hold the Mahdavian regime accountable for their several insults and horrible atrocities while preserving human life to the greatest extent. However, there will be casualties of war. The enemy should have no doubt that we are their nemesis and we are bringing about their rightful destruction, but remember that taking even one human life is not to be done lightly. It is my hope that we can leave Mahdah a better place for having been there. Until that time, it is my duty to announce that a state of war exists between the Marquesan Shogunate and the Emirate of Mahdah."

The author has it it on good authority from an anonymous source inside the RFA that the Royal Expeditionary Command has deployed a number of Deimos-Class Ballistic Missile Submarines within striking distance of the Emirate and her Alkharanian allies. Each submarine is rumored to carry more than a hundred nuclear warheads and is almost completely undetectable by conventional methods. Will this mean a dangerous nuclear escalation to the war, or will the Mahdavians cave under the threat of imminent invasion? Only time will tell.

Euthimiades S.A., one of Sondria's largest maritime corporations, are facing millions in claims from various parties from ship delays in Eden.

Limani Themistokleous, New South Attica — After a 48-hour delay, Marianthi, a Capesize (156,267 DWT) Bulk Carrier carrying wheat from Limani Themistokleous to the harbour of Bodhum, Eden, is facing an uncertain future over it's future trade routes. But that is the least of it's company's, Euthimiades S.A., problems, as the company is facing millions of drachmas in claims by Zea-Zea Agricultural LLC and the Themistoclean Port Authority, among a total of 10 parties. Although Euthimiades S.A. refused to disclose the height of the imposed claims, it is estimated that they currently stand at δρχ 45,000,000 ($83,250,000). The cause of this costly delay, being a search for "bioweapons", was characterised as "ludicrous, insane and beyond the confines of logic", according to the Federal Government, which expressed it's dissatisfaction over this event.

The state of Eden, an island city-state 500 nautical miles from the New South Attica coast, has been a trade partner of minor significance of the Orthodox Federation of the Eagleland, signatory to one trade deal since 2007. The deal reduced the level of tariffs between the two countries by over 50% and set the basis for limited trade between the two nations, whilst opening the border to Eaglelander entrepreneurs who, operating on a partly deregulated market, set up businesses in the city-state. However, one of the deal's provisions, article 76, section beta, subsection III of the deal agreement, stated that "searches must be justified rationally". Given that the search for bioweapons took place in a bulk carrier, the Federal Government report, the trade deal has been jeopardised, and the future of Eaglelander business activity is now in serious doubt by most economic analysts.

"If the trade agreement is cancelled, you will see scores of Eaglelanders close their businesses in the state of Eden, as the trade agreement provides them with the regulatory framework needed for their successful operation.", says Marios Varoufas, a senior economic analyst at the Eagleland-Erjunhuf Trading Board (EETB). "As their future framework is in serious doubt, entrepreneurs and Eaglelander expats will begin fleeing, which will have serious implications for the island nation's economic activity. The Government of Eden must pay it's reparations demaded for it to save some reliability in the Sondrian market, if any remains."

"The search was based on unreasonable grounds.", said a spokeswoman for the Ministry of Merchant Marine, adding: "The presence of biological, chemical or radiological weapons inside bulk carriers is totally unrational and unreasonable, as bulk cargo is unstable and can expose the weapons, therefore carrying them inside bulkers is totally irrational. The Federal Government will demand that the State of Eden either pay a total of fifty-five million dollars reparation to Euthimiades S.A. within the time frame of one week, or this trade agreement will be ceased and further action will be taken."

The spokeswoman refused to answer any questions.

Shagal, Pudite Empire — In what can be described as a turning point in the war against the Pudite Empire, the Ministry of National Defence released a statement today confirming the deaths of the two leading figures of the Pudite Empire, being Emperor Pudu Jilang XLII and Prince Ju, his heir to the throne. The event is a result of a combined effort of the Eagleland Air Force and reportedly snipers from the Eagleland Army, respectively, which come at a critical juncture during the battle of Shagal, where millions of Eaglelanders storm Pudite Positions and are engaged in lethal close quarter and often hand-to-hand combat.

"Intercepted Pudite communications attest to the fact that the Emperor and Prince of the Pudite Empire have been killed by the Eagleland Air Force and personnel of the Eagleland Army. In those cases, air strikes and skilled interdiction missions have deprived the Pudite Forces of their immediate leadership, which is expected to contribute to the collapse of the Pudite defence in a shorter time span than originally anticipated.", stated the spokesperson in a press conference held earlier today. "Our forces are motivated by this event and are zealously endeavouring to gain ground and take over critical positions in the city of Shagal."

While casualties and injuries mount, while Eaglelander Forces are attempting to take over the city in light of irregular and regular enemy tactics in a very important city, the Eagleland Expeditionary Force, Pudite Empire (ADEPA) are reporting progress deemed by the superior commanding officers as "satisfactory".

"Our progress in the city of Shagal has been satisfactory.", stated Brigadier Maria Avramidi, commander of the 37th Infantry Brigade. "The men and women of the thirty-seventh infantry brigade have suffered some casualties as they came in close contact with enemy forces. The death of the Pudite Empire's leadership has had a profound effect on the soldiers serving in it. My brothers who are still in contact have noticed that they have been shock by the shortcoming. Those that have been informed, anyway."

The President of the Orthodox Federation of the Eagleland commented on this event. "The Orthodox Federation of the Eagleland has demonstrated that, by the strength of her armed forces, the freedom of the Pudite People shall be granted at any cost. One of the most vile, appalling and utterly disgusting "leaders" in this world has been killed, his son having suffered the same fate. Ngāti Onekawa-Nukanoa Offensive into Paraksani

With little fanfare, several strikes were made against border defenses of the Republic of Paraksani. It has been noted that relations between the two states had not been progressing smoothly, with constant and incessant small-scale fighting along much of the border as several independent groups of Paraksani continue to launch strikes. Although the problem has been largely mitigated, the Republic of Paraksani has failed to continually honour promises it has made to Ngāti Onekawa-Nukanoa to effectively stamp out these groups. There has also been an undercurrent of suspicion as well, with many of these groups surprisingly well-equipped and funded for what are essentially rebels. Several influential Māori individuals have already voiced there belief that they were being discreetly funded by the Republic.

It has appeared to reach a point where the Māori Kīngi Toa Onekawa has decided 'enough is enough'. When asked earlier today following his surprise announcement of a state of war between Ngāti Onekawa-Nukanoa and the Republic of Paraksani about the reasoning for this, he simply stated "We can no longer let them to continue to assault us in this way. They have failed to contain the problem, so we must do so for them". The Paraksani Ambassador to Ngāti Onekawa-Nukanoa Sufyaan Ameen was equally shocked by this announcement, but he has not released any official response.

Already three Taua Army Groups have advanced, or are advancing, across the border following an significant initial barrage from Ngāti Onekawa-Nukanoa artillery forces, as well as a brutal aerial campaign to achieve aerial superiority and attack vital communication and transport hubs. The Taua Moana has already stemmed a significant number of naval vessels towards the Paraksani coastline to establish a blockade and prepare for naval strikes. International reaction has yet to be determined.

Today, the final component for CODI launches from SARA's Santa Elva Space Centre. Carrying it are the launch controls necessary for delivering the armaments precisely. Manned by 40 military personnel, the two-satellite CODI System will be the first weaponized orbital installation by the Meritocratic States. Built by Aldrin Aerospace and with cooperation Space and Aeronautical Research Agency and the Meritocratic States Strategic Defence Forces, the 1.42 trillion CODI Platform is considered as one of the most expensive civil-military projects in Coronean history. It is also confirmed yesterday that there are plans to build two more weapon platforms to increase the effectiveness of CODI. They have not comment when they will be deployed.

It is also the cornerstone of Chancellor Maya Kurokawa's national defence policy, which calls for "a complete domination of Land, Air, and Sea." The CODI project was approved by the Federal Council in MSY 2040 (RL 2010).

The majority of the international reaction were neutral, given that some nations possess weaponized satellites, with a notable exception for the Republic of Paraksani, who has completely opposed the project. The Paraksani head of state claimed that it will be "a step to shift the balance of power to the Coroneans in Telrania." Federal Councillor Mira Akerstedt, the Minister-Executive for Foreign Affairs, dismissed the claims, stating it will be used for the defence of the Meritocratic States alone.

With the activation of CODI approaches, concerns from within the Parliament arise as a potential armed take over of the command station. In a session at the Palace of the Confederacy yesterday, Kurokawa dismissed the claims, stating that more security measures will be made to avoid the situation from happening.

The public also questioned if CODI violates the Federal Constitution and of the Coronean Defence Policy, banning the military from using weapons of mass destruction. Lieutenant General Linus Stevenson, head of the Air Forces Command, the branch of the military responsible for CODI, clarified it is a surgical strike system, a mere conventional weapon with no nuclear capability.

CODI is currently being set for testing next week, with plans to fire its first tungsten rod on a target on the Sea of Falken (known as the Pearl Sea to international observers).

The National Police Administration was out in full force today as Shogun Akana Hyuga I and President Kyra Blackridge attended an emergency Triad summit.

CBC, Vienna- Following reports of an offensive by the nation of Onekawa-Nukanor into the little known nation of Paraksani, the three member nations of the Triad announced today that they were to hold an emergency summit in Vienna. The three member super alliance of Sondria’s three most powerful states; the Imperial Federation of Crontor, the Elder Republic of Erjunhuf, and the Marquesan Shogunate, announced their intention to hold an emergency summit and quickly departed for the Crontorian capital of Vienna. Landing in quick succession, the leaders of Marquesan and Erjunhuf, Shogun Akane Hyuga I and President Kyra Blackrigde, were escorted under heavy guard to the Crontorian Federal Building where they met with Crontorian President Christian Cranico and special Crontorian envoy to the Triad, Supreme Commander Rockepeller.

The meeting, according to experts and commentators, was completely unexpected. A regularly scheduled meeting to be held in mid-June in Nuka Hiva to discuss further economic integration was the only scheduled meeting for the three Triad heads of state in the near future. The sudden meeting has led many to speculate exactly what prompted such a reaction. Many observers have noted that the meeting might be in response to the evolving situation on the New World continent of Telraina. Earlier this week, the Meritocratic States announced their launch of an offensive kinetic kill satellite capable of dropping rods of pure metal on targets all over Sondria. In addition to the launch of the satellite, the ON invasion of their neighboring state of Paraksani has also captured the attention of regional media and governments.

The Ministry of Defense released a statement today stressing calm over the developing situation in the New World. Speaking today to the media, Ministry of Defense Press Spokesman Jared Alocardi said that, “The Ministry of Defense and Crontorian Armed Forces stand ready to address any threat posed against the Imperial Federation of Crontor. As of right now, we are not concerned that any of the developing situations in the New World directly affect the safety and security of the Imperial Federation. However, we are closely monitoring the situation as always.”

Many criticized what they see as a lackluster response from the Imperial Federation. Some members of the Crontorian Militarist Party in the Imperial Congress have called for President Cranico to deploy naval forces to the area as a show of strength. This follows months of pressure for President Cranico to improve the rather light footprint of Far East Command or FARECOM that serves as the Crontorian military presence in the region. Cranico has largely neglected to publicly address the issue, however, it is thought that this emergency meeting with the leaders of the Triad might be a first step in seeing some movement on the matter.

Crisis in Telrania Coverage

NRS Keinsteinem- As the Meritocratic Confederacy arms itself in space, the ON invasion continues, and the Triad meets to discuss the growing tensions in the New World, the Bundesregierung today convened in the City of Keinsteinem as the Bundestag and Bundesrat unusually approved a funding increase for the Bundeswehr ahead of schedule from the military budget timeline. Bundeskanzler Gerhard Kohl convened the Cabinet to help form contingency plans and responses for Bundespräsident Marina Aruthyan to consider before convening with the Cabinet later today. Aruthyan ordered Tornado ADS and Typhoon squadrons on standby in the event that the situation spirals out of control and forces Lanos to intervene. Reports that the Navy and defense positions along both shores of Lanos are on alert were unconfirmed by the Bundeswehr. The Bundeskanzler gave a strong statement against Triad involvement in Telrania but could not elaborate on what Lanos could do to ward off the Triad from intervening in the continent.

In other news, the Republic of Insiresia has introduced, or attempted to introduce, new firearm restrictions that run afoul of constitutional protections and federal law. The restrictions center around a proposal to license gun owners, a proposal repeatedly struck down by the Federal Constitutional Court as recently as 2010. A related issue is that the Estander Arms group has announced it would not sell guns to the Republic in response, complicating gun sales for the government and local police forces. The Republic has asked for the Bundesregierung's Department of Public Safety for recourse in the matter of replacing older police weapons but no response has yet been indicated. The Republic's government has been dominated by the Liberal Party since 2007 but has run into complications implementing its policy by means of federal intervention and resident challenges.

Lanos Grenzpolizei reported 13 migrants out of a group of 30 attempting to cross into the country died on the way through the Weiße Berge during a cold snap. The migrants had tripped border sensors and a rescue beacon but had continued to move deeper into the range rather than to take refuge in a mountain shelter equipped for such climates. The remaining migrants were rescued and transported to hospitals for treatment and will be deported back home when they are released. Those that have claimed asylum status will be detained pending proceedings.

Crontorian Navy Conducts Satellite Shoot-down In Pearl Sea; FARECOM Closing Bases

CBC, Fort Bastion- Earlier today, Field Marshal Benjamin Wilkington of the Crontorian Armed Forces Far East Command announced that naval elements would be participating in a live fire exercise in the Pearl Sea to destroy a malfunctioning satellite managed by Space Command (SPACECOM). The satellite, an older military communications satellite that formerly formed part of the Crontorian Battle Network, has entered a decaying orbit. This orbit, according to officials from the Ministry of Defense and the Crontorian Aeronautical and Space Administration (CASA), could be potentially harmful to Sondrians should the satellite crash following reentry. As there is a possibility of parts of the satellite hitting populated areas in a crash, the Ministry of Defense has taken action to address the issue.

Naval forces from Far East Command or FARECOM will be mobilized from their base in Fort Bastion in the United Empire’s holdings on Telraina. These elements will carry out live fire exercises in the Pearl Sea culminating in the launch of missiles against the affected satellite when the satellite reaches its expected kill position. The decision to carry out these tests are thought to be a showcase for the states of the New World that the Crontorian Armed Forces have a far reaching influence and have taken notice of the decision by the Meritocratic States to launch a kinetic kill satellite, a weapon that experts say could hit just about any target in the Imperial Federation without warning while remaining difficult to destroy.

This move by the Ministry of Defense was done in a time where the CAF is looking to reorganize its presence across the region. The Crontorian Armed Forces Reorganization Initiative (CAFERI) proposed by President Cranico and Supreme Commander Crogden calls for the drawdown and closure of bases in the New World, either finding other nations to host them aside from the United Empire or having assets that were formally FARECOM reorganized between other Operational Combatant Commands. It is unclear whether the Ministry of Defense or the Ministry of State is holding talks with any nations about holding FARECOM bases, although the pickings are slim in an area where the Imperial Federation has few ties.

To many experts, the shift away from the New World sends mixed signals on the international stage. For a nation that has long prided itself on having the ability to reach and strike any nation in Sondria, CAFERI sounds like a retreat or a sign of weakness for a nation that many assert already has overextended its assets. However, the Ministry of Defense and Supreme Commander has repeatedly stated that the CAF is not, “abandoning the New World, nor do we plan to stop Crontorian involvement in that area. If you are a threat to regional peace and security you are considered an enemy of the Imperial Federation."

FNN, Pitoir: Ithera Quel has called for a meeting with the National Council of New Samarinda in regards to the nation's foreign policy. The meeting focused on the crises of the New World, the hyper build up of military forces of countries within Sondria, and International Trade. Recent events in the New World including the Crontorian satellite shoot-down, and the Meritocratic State's launch of its massive satellite. As Ithera Quel put it during the meeting, "Sondria is not the same as it was a month ago, it is an ever changing entity. We must meet change with change if we hope to combat the evils of this world."

Indeed Sondria is changing, and the crises in the New World are proof. In response to the volatile situations, the Triad (The Elder Republic of Erjunhuf, The Shogunate of Marquesan, and The Imperial Federation of Crontor) have drafted the Rockepeller Doctrine proclaiming their intent to enter any crisis they choose fit within the New World. When asked about her thoughts on the matter she responded, "Everyone has a choice, they better choose right." When asked what she meant by "right" she did not comment. When asked about the Crontorian satellite shoot-down, a member of the National Congress, Neal Vramk, retorted, "We have no plans on reprimanding The Imperial Federation nor would be place economic sanctions. In the near future The Imperial Federation and our beloved Confederation will be working together to face the terrors of the world." Another member of the council, Dane Yut, added, "Personally, I feel that The Imperial Federation's intent should be fully backed my our nation. We have a God Damned weapon floating in space and no one knows its capabilities nor its legitimate purpose." With mixed opinions within the Council, it is hard to see a definite outcome on its stance. Opinions are coming from both sides, negative and positive.

With the crises in the New World, many are wondering about the economic standing that New Samarinda will keep with the whole of Telraina. For now, it seems that the government of New Samarinda is placing economic sanctions on the whole of Telraina until further notice. New Samarinda will continue to trade with the Old World, and economists predict that with New Samarinda's Marquesan backed economy, growth will remain steady. Ithera Quel also hinted at bettering the economic state between The Imperial Federation and New Samarinda.

BREAKING: Triad Announces Rockepeller Doctrine May 8th, 2014 Days after rampant instability broke out across the continent of Telrania, officials at the emergency Triad summit in Vienna are confirming the existence of the "Rockepeller Doctrine", affirming the right of Triad nations to intervene in the New World "...should regional interests be at stake", effectively granting Triad nations a casus belli to end any instability on the continent if deemed necessary. While the summit, called only three days ago to discuss the recent invasion of Paraksani by Onekawa-Nukanoa as well as the recent launch of an orbital defense satellite by the Meritocratic States, had been expected to come to a joint-response, very few people predicted the sheer scope of the recent measure, which can be invoked by any member of the Triad and, if approved, result in a military response to any situation in the New World. President Kyra Blackridge of the Elder Republic addressed reporters, along with her fellow Triad heads of state, in a meeting with the press minutes after the announcement had been made. "The Elder Republic is dedicated to the security of the Telranian continent; we feel this measure will benefit both the region at large as well as ensure peace on the continent. We are willing and still committed to work with all parties involved to find a diplomatic solution to these crises." "The Imperial Federation is fully committed to Triad efforts to maintain peace and security both in the New World and across Sondria." President Christian Cranico of the Imperial Federation added. When asked if the doctrine would be immediately implemented to bring an end to the ongoing Paraksani crisis, all three declined comment before heading back to continue the summit. In addition to the announcement, several anonymous sources also stated that Erjunhuf would be sending a team of engineers and architects to New Samarinda, a Triad ally, as part of a "green initiative" designed to help foster relations with the young republic. An anonymous source stated that, "The Elder Republic wishes to cultivate a healthy and positive relationship with democracies all across the region, and New Samarinda is no exception. The Bundeswehr has completed a small milestone, in some circles, by completing the upgrade of all G36 service rifles and variants to the A2 standard this week. All G36A1s, G36Ks, and G36Cs have been upgraded to A2 standards which include a quich-detach unmagnified red dot sight, an aluminum handguard, four rails for accessories, a vertical foregrip that can activate a laser/light module, and a shorter stock from the G36C. The A2 upgrades were applied to all G36 variants and will be featured in future export models. The Bundeswehr noted that only the G36s in active service and some in reserve service were upgraded. Others in stockpile were left alone unless needed for use and will be upgraded at a future time. In a related story, acquisition of the MG121 general purpose machine gun to replace the MG3 machine gun has been delayed pending testing results. It is uncertain if the MG3 can be completely replaced by the MG121. On the other hand, the MG4 has been making its rounds replacing the MG3 in the squad support role since 2006.

The Lanos Navy reports that it would, in the future, monitor and observe all military testing near Lanosian waters after the Crontor testing incident yesterday. The CN1 Lady Marina was on patrol with its support fleet ensuring the Crontor fleet did not trespass into Lanos. The carrier and fleet will continue on its patrol throughout the rest of the regional tension. The other carrier for the western shores will remain on standby near Lanos. The Bundeswehr insists that future deployments are not on the horizon. The Bundesregierung panned the proposed Rockefeller Doctrine, citing that Lanos would not be intimidated by a doctrine seeking to expand the Triad's power into the New World. Anonymous sources indicated that various invitations had already been sent out to republics across the region, including nations such as Lanos and New Samarinda, along with old Erjunhite allies such as the Eagleland and Rephesus, and that a large attendance was already expected despite the relatively short notice. "The Elder Republic remains committed to its primary aim of exporting democracy to all corners of Sondria, as well as continuing our ardent defense of republics across the region." President Blackridge read in a brief statement to the press. "This summit is designed to help us achieve precisely both of those goals, and simultaneously strengthen ties with our republican partners throughout the region. We are very optimistic of a positive outcome in the coming days." The President also indicated that she had talked to several heads of state already, and expected most, if not all, invited heads of state to attend the event. The summit is scheduled to take place in the Executive Mansion, although various details as to the precise nature of the summit remain shrouded in rumors. While an official guest-list has not yet been presented to the press at the time of this announcement, administration officials stated that one will be provided once nations had confirmed or declined their invite.

The doctrine, which states that any Triad nation (Marquesan, Erjunhuf, and Crontor), had the right to intervene in the 'New World' "...should regional interest be at stake." As a result, the Rockepeller Doctrine furthermore extends the Triad a casus belli to end the 'supposed' instability of the Telrainan nations. Despite this, the Triad remains the most influential organization in Sondria; howeer, it should be noted that the Triad influence in the 'New World' is minuscule at the most, where as the United Empire maintains a plethora of military bases and land holdings, as well as having locked up various allies (Lanos, Meritocratic States). This evening, Federal Chancellor Maya Kurokawa announced that the Federal Council has ordered a suspension in the development of more CODI satellites after the command station sustained damage on the solar and the radiator panels. It is suspected that space debris originated from the old Crontorian military satellite that was taken down by the Crontorian navy on the Sea of Falken (called the Pearl Sea by most Sondrian countries). Fortunately, none of the 8 astronauts are injured.

"It was supposed to be this week that the CODI would have its first test fire, but with the damage sustained by the command station, we are postponing the firing until we have it fixed." Announced Director Stephen Lanning, the Chief Administrator for SARA.

CODI was started in MSY 2015 (RL 1975) as a small Research and Development by the Aerospace Research Agency (SARA's preceding agency) and the Meritocratic States Strategic Defence Forces. Twenty-nine years later, the orbital weapons project cost the country 8.7 trillion MSK/C.

Despite the Crontorian naval presence in the Sea of Falken, the Federal Parliament announced that it stands by with its decision to continue with the weapon testing, but on a different area. "We have the right to possess this weapon and everyone is free to build one." Council President and Minister-Executive for National Defence Terrance McGowan spoke with ABC News. "I understand the concerns of the nations in the Old World as well here in Telraina. Our diplomatic channels are open should they need to voice their concerns directly to us."

In response to the Crontorian presence in the Sea of Falken (known as the Pearl Sea to the rest of Sondria), the Chairman of the Meritocratic States Strategic Defence Forces, Vice Admiral Kristopher Trindl, ordered an increase of readiness and patrols along the maritime borders of the country. The Army is also given an increase of the state of readiness, with orders to mobilize for defensive warfare should hostilities ensue.

Just this noon, the navy has authorized the deployment of one Carrier Squadron led by Aircraft Carrier MSNV Triumph over Fear from Arzachel Island and has proceeded with its patrol mission. The head of the Naval Forces Branch, Vice Admiral Toni Matthews has stated that more armadas will be deployed should the situation worsen. The Air Force is also increasing its patrols of the maritime territory, prioritizing a quarter of the CF-212 AWACS squadrons.

After speaking with the Homeland Defence Council, Vice Admiral Trindl spoke with the press. "We will not tolerate this blatant intimidation tactic by the Imperial Federation."

Earlier today, the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs issued a statement, condemning the Crontorian naval presence in the Pearl Sea. In the statement, the "Federal Parliament found the armed tactic employed by the Imperial Federation to intimidate nations into submission by military force further complicates the situation by potentially instigating an armed conflict." the statement also added that "in the interest of regional cooperation, nations are invited to diplomatically solve the ongoing crisis with the Coronean Confederacy."

In recent weeks, the New World continent of Telraina has been in regional spotlight following the announcement of the launch of the new Coronean Orbital Defence Initiative. Added with the recent offensive by conducted by Ngati Onekawa-Nukanor onto its northern neighbour, the Republic of Paraksani, the Triad, an alliance of the three most powerful states in western Sondria met in an emergency summit and has unveiled the Rockepeller Doctrine, which enables the Triad to intervene "in the interests of regional security" in Telraina. It also extends the Triad a casus belli to end the current instability within the Telrainan nations.

A few days later, the Imperial Federation of Crontor launched a live-fire exercise to take down an aging Crontorian military satellite on the Sea of Falken (known as the Pearl Sea to Sondrian states) by the Crontorian navy prompted the MSSDF to go on "higher-than-normal readiness," launching a Carrier Squadron and AWACS to monitor the situation. The resulting destruction of the military satellite also caused the postponement of the development and testing of CODI. The Kurokawa Government condemned the move, accusing the Imperial Federation of "attempting to instigate an armed conflict with the Coronean Confederacy" as well as its commitment to maintain with its decision to continue the testing of the orbital weapon. Representatives from the Imperial Federation has yet to comment.

The events in Telraina also caught the attention of the United Empire of Alkhrania, who responded with the Triad's Rockepeller Doctrine with the Telrainan Doctrine, which calls for foreign nations to stay out of Telrainan affairs or face armed retribution. It is also important to note that the Triad has minimal foothold in the New World, with a few Crontorian military bases stationed in the United Empire domains in Telraina in the process of reorganization.

In an interview with MSNF's Peter Stonebridge, Council-President McGowan, the Federal Council, as well as the Federal Parliament, has decided not comment on the two political doctrines set forth by the Old World Nations in Sondria. "Because of the collegiality of the Council, I cannot say for my fellow Councillors about what they think of the current developments." McGowan said "I will answer that question at a later time once we have made a decision."

He also added that the Coronean Confederacy is interested to resolve the situation diplomatically in order to defuse the current crisis. When asked about the country's current relations with the United Empire: "The relations between the Confederacy and the Empire is somewhat warm. We see ourselves as valuable trade allies, and that's the end of it."

When asked about the possibility of entering a military alliance with the United Empire, McGowan rejected the idea, saying it is not in the interests of the Coronean Confederacy to join on alliances that "would entail military coalitions."

BREAKING: Large Rare Earth Mineral Deposit Found Potentially Largest Find in Sondria May 12th, 2014 MANCHESTER, ERJUNHUF: After taking early morning losses in the wake of the United Empire's announcement of the Telranian Doctrine, stock markets rallied today on news of the discovery of a massive deposit of rare earth minerals in the Helvetti Mountain Range, less than one hundred miles outside of the city of Stailcroft. "These elements play an important role in the development of our modern world." Malcolm Colby, a geologist professor from Stailcroft University, commented earlier today. "These estimates aren't complete just yet, but our initial findings are proving this site to be the largest deposit of rare earth elements in Sondria today. If the deposit is half of the size of our current estimates, the Elder Republic will have enough rare earth elements for itself and for trade for the next century, more than enough to drive our economy into stages we have yet to see. The sky is truly the limit for Erjunhite innovation after today." Several mining companies from across the region are already filing bids to be able to extract and sell the REE's on the open market, in accordance with the Erjunhite Ministry of Commerce and the Ministry of Health and Safety. Rare earth elements are a major components of most modern-day technology; everything from cell phones to wind turbines to other electronic equipment run using technology based around rare earth elements. Prices for these elements plummeted sharply when news of the discovery was made public, with no signs of that trend stopping anytime soon. Erjunhite stocks, particularly in the technology sector, also showed strong growth over the course of the day. In other market news, several major investors, including the Iron Bank of Erjunhuf, continued to purchase large amounts of United Empire Aerus's, in hopes that the currency will soon turn a corner as the superstate slowly climbs out of recession. "Several economic indicators are already showing favorable trends for the United Empire; we'd simply be fools to be left out of the earnings." Markus Reynolds, CEO of the Iron Bank, commented earlier. When asked if he expected war to occur between the Triad and the UE in the coming weeks, Reynolds waved off such concerns. "Both the Triad and the United Empire have an invested interest in maintaining positive relations, and such a war would truly be a foolish endeavor for everyone.
