Free Taco Act

To The General Assembly,

DEFINES a taco as a corn tortilla wrapped around a filling that has to include at least cheese and lettuce,

RECOGNIZING that tacos are awesome

REALIZING that tacos might not be available to everyone

ASSERTS that the distribution of free tacos might contribute to civil stability and international peace

HEREBY:

1) Establishes the WAFTA (World Assembly Free Taco Association) which will be responsible for overseeing the distribution of tacos to all WA member nations

2) Requires all member nations to distribute tacos to all citizens free of charge on taco night, one taco per citizen

3) Designates taco night as Wednesday night

I personally thought it was a good resolution. Don't know why it was taken down.

I would have approved it for an instant!

But of course, it is a joke proposal. :(

All right, who thought it would be a good idea for LG to submit a proposal?

We would have to oppose this. Since our calendar doesn't have Wednesdays, when would we get any tacos?

Ah, how sad it was removed... finally a committee with a huge importance would be created through this proposal!

You pick a day that is on your calendar and we have tacos anyway. :)

I'd vote for this. It just needs a little work.

From my observation I should have been able to choose one day of the week, but that isn't going to change anything to be honest. Works at least in RP, though.

What do you suggest?

Is there any way I could word this to where it won't get deleted?

The Republic of Quadrimmina fully supports this resolution and would like to propose that the following be done to allow the legislation to pass:

Culinary Appreciation Act

THIS WORLD ASSEMBLY,

DEFINING International Cuisine as food consumed more by a specific ethnic group than by the general population of all World Assembly nations by a factor of 10%.

RECOGNIZING the benefits of celebrating diversity through the use of international cuisine.

HEREBY enacts this resolution to:
i. Promote the trade of recipes among embassies and consulates of nations for international cuisine.
ii. Create International Cuisine Appreciation Day as an international holiday to be celebrated by all WA nations by the dining of international cuisine, and the serving of international cuisine in restaurants.
iii. Ensure that international cuisine is always available in all World Assembly nations.
iv. Ensure, specifically, that tacos, as one of the most popular foods of international cuisine, be provided by all World Assembly member nations to its citizens either at a discount or as handouts from a government entitlement program.

The Republic of Quadrimmina's Minister of Foreign Affairs has his reservations about this resolution, but will consider the debate that takes place in this hallowed institution.
Sincerely,
Alexandra Kerrigan, Ambassador to the World Assembly from the Republic of Quadrimmina.
