Roster

GOALKEEPERS

1 - Martin Anghelescu - Bayern-Algaer (Taeshan) 1 Caps, 24 Years Old
Not exactly the best news to have for the fans, but in Goal now is untested 24 year old Martin Anghelscu. If there is a weakness this campaign for Antoletia it is their experience. 7 players retired, 6 of them starters, including former Goalkeeper Adolf Dumitrescu, so whether or not the Fire Ants continue to a third straight World Cup finals is up to a rather younger squad.

23 - Edgar Haralamb - Mt Ceabring Thunder (Taeshan) 0 Caps, 16 Years Old
The new third string keeper for the Fire Ants is new Mt Ceabring prospect Edgar Haralamb. The young keeper will likely not see much if any action for a decade or so on the team.

24 - Luca Hagi - Whilliumiborough Swagger(Paradystopia) 0 Caps, 20 Years Old
Hagi is back in the squad, but now the best option option off the bench in Goal he is. He like all the goalkeepers on the squad is rather young and untested so whether or not he sees the field there are many worries on this team.

DEFENDERS
2 - LB, Virgil Cobacaru - Real Atlantea (Taeshan) 11 Caps, 24 Years Old
Replacing Niculae Ricard at Left Back will be young Atlantea defender Virgil Cobacaru. Cobacaru has been apart of 4 straight championships in Taeshan and many believe he is one of the best defenders in the Taeshani league.

3 - LCB, Sheyenne Augustini - Real Chinchinhua (Taeshan) 75 Caps, 28 Years Old
Sheyenne is now the second senior member of the squad and likely a linch pin of the back four. He may not have the talent of his center back mate, but he will be important in the Ants hopes of a third straight qualification.

4- RCB, Alec Raț - Atlantea Hurricanes (Taeshan) 128 Caps, 3 Goals, 31 Years OldCAPTAIN
Now named captain, Alec Raț is the corps of the Antoletian defense. Without him things might get a big off. The leader of the team, Alec will be counted on to return the Ants to the glory fields of the world cup.

7- RB, Decebal Funar - X Island Marauders (Taeshan) 2 Caps , 20 Years Old
the big news in the off year was the retirement of speedy winger Mathew Cannibus. To replace him is another untested player in the young Decebal Funar. Many expected Percival Devine to get the outside job, but Devine is the air apparent at center back, and Funar really beat him out for the position. Don't expect the same dazzling speed from Funar you were used to with Cannibus.

12 - DF, Eugen Gabor - Fadron Flight (Taeshan) 0 Caps, 16 Years Old
The young Fadron player will likely not see much action this campaign.

17 - DF, Percival Devine - Atlantea Hurricanes (Taeshan) 17 Caps, 23 Years Old
The best off the bench player defensive wise is now Devine. He is more a center back, but can play the right side rather well as well.

21 - DF, Franklyn Hopkins - Real Chinchinhua (Taeshan) 0 Caps, 18 Years Old
Hopkins is more likely to see the field than Gabor, but also lacks a lot of experience.

MIDFIELDERS

5 - LM, Gheorghe von Leeweonheouck - Ituributa United (Ituributa) 129 Caps, 37 Goals, 28 Years Old
At left midfield sits the real playmaker of the team. The player with the biggest international name on the team, von Leeweonheouck now is likely to bare the load of playmaker on the team. Also to lead as the second most capped player.

8 - CAM, Remus Robideau - Tintown Terrapins (Taeshan) 3 Caps, 21 Years Old
Robideau has been handed the keys of the offense by the managerial staff, and as the youngest member of the midfield will likely be the most cautious. Robideau beat out his twin Constantine and Slyvestre Rochambeau to the spot to replace longtime Antoletian star Filip Constantinescu.

9 - CDM, Raphael - Thunchester City (Northern Sunrise Islands) 59 Caps, 10 Goals, 25 Years Old
Raphael was for a long period the first man off the bench, but with the leaving of Cristian Kafka now has his own spot in midfield and will look to be the box to box type player.

13 - CM, Gabriel Mohammed - Blacklake Blues (Taeshan) 105 Caps, 21 Goals, 30 Years Old
The third and final centurion on the team is Gabriel Mohammed, who is likely in his last tournament and will likely want to lead the team back to the world cup finals. That said Mohammed is the star of the center of the midfield and will look to help the wingers create scoring opportunities.

22 - RM, Hannibal - Blue Mountain Range (Astograth) 60 Caps, 10 Goals, 25 Years Old
On the right side of midfield is another playmaker in Hannibal. The powerful winger is likely to take on defenders like nobodies business.

6- RM, Sylvestre Rochambeau - X Island Marauders (Taeshan) 1 Caps, 19 Years Old
Rochambeau will be a key cog in the future of the Fire Ants.

14 - MF, Simon Costache - X Island Marauders (Taeshan) 0 Caps, 16 Years Old
This young midfielder has a bright future.

16 - MF, Constantine Robideau - X Island Marauders (Taeshan) 6 Caps, 21 Years Old
Ditto.

18 - MF, Awrythr Tudor - Capetown Croc's (Taeshan) 3 Caps, 19 Years Old
A new speedy winger for the team, and one of the newest members is this young man from the south of Antoletia.

20 - MF, Nigel - Ayeville Pikachus (Northern Sunrise Islands) 0 Caps, 17 Years Old
Ditto

STRIKERS

10 - CF, Anton Gregovich - New Capetown Falcons (Taeshan) 45 Caps, 13 Goals, 26 Years Old
The new starter at Center Forward is target man Anton Gregovich who has had a long career now for the Fire Ants and will look to build upon what he has already done by leading his team back to the finals with goals, goals and more goals.

11 - ST, Clyde Dickens - Real Chinchinhua (Taeshan) 10 Caps, 3 Goals, 22 Years Old
Taking over as star striker on the bench will be Clyde Dickens. The young Antoletian is speedy and dangerous on the ball.

15 - ST, Soren Teodore - Mierton Manatees (Taeshan) 0 Caps, 18 Years Old
New to the squad is young striking option Soren Teodore.

19 - ST, Galen Scrivens - Moresville FC (Taeshan) 0 Caps, 17 Years Old
Ditto

In the defense area, they tend to use more physical to play aggressively without damaging the rivals, except that the defenses are of medium height stands that are agile in the aerial game, so it is very difficult to beat thereby, expect always a fair game from this team.

Players like try long-distance shots to beat the goalkeeper, but SJG can have more surprises because it is a team that does not give up that easy.

-Catholics: 2%
-Protestants: 2%

Language
The national languages of under Article 8 of the Constitution of the Federation of San Jose Guayabal, adopted in The Honorable People's Parliament are: English, Spanish Guayabalense, Russian, and Eskimo (Most used are: English, Spanish and Guayabalian), encouraging the use of language Guayabalian in:

CHORUS
Let us salute, the Motherland, proudly
To be its children, called we can
And let us swear our lives spiritedly
Without rest to its good, consecrate!

Let us salute, the Motherland, proudly
To be its children, called we can
And let us swear our lives spiritedly
Without rest to its good, consecrate!, consecrate!, consegrate!, consegrate!

FIRST VERSE
Of peace enjoyed in perfect happiness
San Jose Guayabal always nobly dreamed.
To achieve this has been Her eternal proposition,
To keep it, Her greatest glory.
With inviolable faith, the path of progress
She strives to follow
To fulfil Her great destiny
And conquer a happy future.
A stern barrier protects Her
Against the clash of vile disloyalty,
Ever since the day when Her soaring Flag,
Wrote Freedom with Its blood

CHORUS
Let us salute, the Motherland, proudly
To be its children, called we can
And let us swear our lives spiritedly
Without rest to its good, consecrate!

Let us salute, the Motherland, proudly
To be its children, called we can
And let us swear our lives spiritedly
Without rest to its good, consecrate!, consecrate!, consegrate!, consegrate!

Jeru FC Roster

"The Cannons"

Formation: 4-4-2
Style Modifier: +2

Coach: André Vaillancourt-Bosquet.

Former NMS manager André Vaillancourt-Bosquet resigned early on in the second half of qualifiers after losing to Farfadillis and leaving the Paladins with no control over their qualifying fate. That said, he did manage the Paladins to a third-place finish in CoH 55, and he did rack up a full 9 points in the group stages of WC64. He will insist that the powers that be fund the side better before he takes the job, though. He got the job after an apprenticeship under Sol Kirkkegaard, and prior to that, he spent 16 years as an AMF on the Paladins and in the upper echelon of the NMSFL (admittedly non-scorinated.)

Assistant coach: Captain Israel Goldstein, serving member of the Jeruselem army
Reporter: Princess Katheryn Elizabeth Dallas of Jeruselem (aka Princess Katy)

All boys are daughters of serving army personnel.

GK (M,30) - Nathan Angelica - Silent by deadly
GK (M,30) - Beatty Boe - Folks think he's a lot older

DEF (M,30) - Headless Munk - Behaves like a headlead chook
DEF (M,30) - Steve Silence - You don't see him but he's there
DEF (M,30) - Slimey Slitheen - Unpleasant mercenary character
DEF (M,30) - Ziggy Zygon - Very ugly guy but effective
DEF (M,30) - Ginger Ganger - A clone of someone
DEF (M,30) - Sam Sontaran - Big solid short stout defender

MID (M,30) - Sid Scarecrow - Scrawny unpleasant fella
MID (M,30) - James Master - Always scheming and plotting
MID (M,30) - Great Intelligence - The brains of the team on the field
MID (M,30) - Dream Lord - Most of the team think he doesn't exist
MID (M,30) - Cyberdude - Runs like a machine

STR (M,30) - Rich racnoss - Related to big red spider like critter
STR (M,30) - Daryl Dalek - Likes to exterminate the opposition
STR (M,30) - Vance Vampire - The team thinks he sucks
STR (M,30) - Ice Warrior - Does his job without emotion, very antisocial

Roster for World Cup 68:

Coach: Emmilia Lin-Riley

She started her career as a volunteer nonprofessional trainer and moved on to coaching college and regional teams. She is enthusiastic about the sport, although she only played it in her childhood, before an injury to her hamstring effectively ended her career as a player.

Asistant Coach: Gavin Quintero

Quintero has come out of retirement to help coach. He was a long time player, but has stopped playing after turning 73. Impressive knowledge, of both the sport and colorful language.

Main Players (Jersey Number in parentheses)

Goalie: Benjamin Roy(01)
Roy is dependable and level headed, good against penalty kicks or for saving shots from the goal line. He has been criticized for not being aggressive enough to charge loose balls.

Sweeper: Greg Jimenez(02)
Jimenez is fast. He was considered for the center position, however his head for strategy and his skill for directing the other defenders position make him an excellent sweeper.

Defenders: Kurt Erwin(03), Michael Franz(04)
Erwin plays right defender, and is known for his large clear: when a ball is in the danger zone, Erwin gets it out. His grasp of positioning is all right, but he has a tendency to dive in and let attacking players get past him.
Franz is the left defender. His ball handling skills are not outstanding, but his passing game is excellent. His endurance is not especially good, however he can get back fast if a ball gets past him.

Defensive Mids: Nigel Rawlins(05), Walter Black(06)
Rawlins is the left defensive midfield. He aggressive to the ball and stops attacks before they begin, but often doesn’t get back to help defend if a ball gets past him.
Black is also an aggressive player, but more likely to get back and defend. In fact, Black’s main problem is getting pulled out of position.

Center: Eduardo Ortega(07) (Captain)
Widely considered the team’s star player, Ortega is the team captain. Ortega is very fast, with great endurance and excellent ball handling skills, although he can be something of a ball hog. He is very good at avoiding defenders and takes good shots when he gets the opportunity.

Attacking Mids: Adrian Amarali(08), Lukan Ebert(09)
Amarali is the right attacking midfield. He has an excellent passing game and, while he doesn’t often take shots, his crosses and corner kicks are perfectly placed to set the forwards up for scoring.
Ebert is a pushy player, who has the most yellow and red cards of anyone of the team. He tends to muscle through defenders rather than avoiding them, but has a good shot when he gets to the goal.

Forwards: Christopher Berardino(10) Wilhelm Gilliam(11)
Berardino is easily pushed around but has good ball handling skills and a good shot. He takes most penalty kicks for the team. He has a reliable shot, always low and to the corner.

Gilliam always stays pushed up, and is sometimes caught offside. But his positioning pays off on long balls that he collects and puts away with accuracy and speed. The team’s top scorer.

Reserve Players:

G: Coleman Bennett

S: Julio Rosales

D: Ray Fredericks, Emerson Murry

DM: Isaac Finnegan-Stanly, Nathaniel Peyton

C: Parker Leslie

AM: Gaston Shepards-Hawksley, Derik Zaragoza

F: Carl Navarro, Burton Thornburg

Razul's main stadium is considered to be the Caridad Stadium, built by a non-profit group who also funds youth football programs and large regional teams.

Image

While generally considered fairly unspectacular when compared to other stadiums around the world, Razul is quite proud of their stadium, and the government is looking into improving it with government funds.

RP Permissions: Feel free to do anything except permanently disabling the player.

Manager: Pierre Mossebien
Replaced Norrie Stewart after what was seen as a disastrous World Cup 67. Immediately reshuffled squad and despite some dubious results is seen by the media as making a good job of things so far. However, failure to get in the top four of the group could mean his head. Mossebien returned from retirement to coach the team, and has a wealth of experience to draw from, most notably having won the Premier League three times with Crystal Lanark in the 1970's.
Assistant Manager: Erik Knutten
A surprise choice for the assistant's position, Erik Knutten had not been involved in the managerial side of the game since 2004 when he resigned from the Atticus Bench. Since then, he had worked as a pundit for the Nouvel Ecosse State Television Provider, and was part of the coverage team at the BoF 52 and WCs 66 & 67.

RP Info: As long as you don't go crazy on the suspensions and injuries, then I'm happy for you to do anything. This game is meant to be creative.
Style Modifier: +1.5

Stadium: Culloden, Hannibal
Due to conflict in the South-East of the Country, Nouvel Ecosse's Capital is currently the Cultural City of Hannibal. (Info here: http://iiwiki.com/wiki/Hannibal). Because of the former capital's inability to host an international fixture because of danger to visitors, Embassy park has had to have been shut. Thus, Nouvel Ecosse will play all home games at Culloden in Hannibal. It has a capacitance of 98,000, with 70,000 of this standing and the remaining 28,000 seated. Culloden is the home ground of past-champions Crystal Lanark, although they have suffered a dry spell recently and currently languish in the Third Division.

Anthem: "Ride of the Valkyries" by Wagner
The Anthem of Choice because of its ability to both lift the team and threaten the opponents. Often the anthem of choice for all Ecossian sports sides.

Roles

Captain: Javier Zanetti
Penalty Taker: Darren McFadden
Freekick Taker: Darren McFadden Left, Sanchez Reno Right, Curt LaFleur Centre.
Left Corner Taker: Darren McFadden
Right Corner Taker: Colin Di Nesbo

TEAM CASSADAIGUA- WORLD CUP 68

Image

Coach- Ashley Barrett (54), 2nd World Cup
Brief Bio- Not everyone agreed with the selection of Barrett to coach the World Cup 67 team, thinking that the team needed more experience in the position, especially since Cassadaigua was going directly to the World Cup Proper. This proved to be a wise decision, as the Dagans were very close to advancing to the round of the 16, despite all odds (other then home turf) being stacked against them.

The Ministry of Morale is pleased to present the NMS Paladins roster for World Cup 68. William St. John de la Ware, recently dismissed from his post as manager of the Darmen All Greens after failing to match his initial run into the World Cup 3rd-place game, has come home. Israel Klimt's failure to guide the world #5 Paladins out of the group stage doomed his tenure as Paladins' manager. The availability of de la Ware gave an extra burst of wind to the sails of Ministry bureaucrats who had gotten sick of watching counterattacking football fail to lead the 'States to the promised land.

de la Ware is the longest-tenured defender in NMS history, and although he spent most of his career playing under Sol Kirkegaard, who came over from Polar Islandstates to try and teach the Paladins defense, de la Ware promised and delivered a return to the 2-6-2. To bring back the days of pass first, shoot second, defend third, and midfields more clogged than a frathouse toilet after taco night, de la Ware had to make some radical changes.

Phillippe Delafrénière is the only member of the side who's scored a goal for the Paladins, and he's been handed the captaincy, then told to organize 11 new midfielders into something resembling the juggernauts of yore.

Former third keeper Isaac Brown has won the starter's job.

de la Ware has won accolades from his fellow patricians for reaching out across a centuries-old divide and giving a starting spot to Alistair St. George Millet-Wapintake, of the St. George Millet-Wapintakes, none of whom have been on speaking terms with the de la Wares since the infamous "Toddy and Tickle" incident. It didn't hurt that, like de la Ware, Millet-Wapintake bucked his family to play the disgustingly lower-class game of football, signing with and starring for the notoriously blue-collar side CF Angiers.

The entire side is a roiling, anarchic mess with superb physical talents and no continuity or sense of how to play together - just like most Paladins sides, although de la Ware seems to have done away with all pretense and is letting his (tasteful, old-money) freak flag fly with this one.

Starters are in bold.

OOC: For fair RP bonus attribution, most of the characters included on this roster are from the Doctor Who TV Series (and from a couple of Dr. Who books) and are either real, as in play a part in the series, or just random variations but from the species listed in Dr. Who. Some names will come from the members' list of this thread. For more background info, most of the species should be found on Wikipedia; except for Lazarus, for which you need to search for 'The Lazarus Experiment'. For the Raxacoricofallapatorians, search Slitheen. For Silurian, see 'Cold Blood' or 'The Hungry Earth' (followed by Doctor Who if necessary). For Rory, search 'The Pandorica Opens'.

Manager: Rassilon (Species: Time Lord; the first Lord President of Gallifrey, Rassilon created the Eye of Harmony, which gave the Time Lords their time travelling ability. All in all, he became the foundation of Gallifrey, although that may all be just public relations. He had discovered the secret to immortality, but was deposed by rebellious Time Lords, before going into an eternal sleep in the Tomb of Rassilon, located in the Death Zone. Late on in the Time War, he was seemingly brought back to direct the war efforts, but as he was willing to destroy the Time Vortex and thus the whole of creation [in the Whoniverse, if not all universes], to win the Time War, the Doctor time-locked him and the whole of Gallifrey.)
Assistant Manager: Adam Loftus (Normal human, aged 73; returned to the national team after a break of a few World Cups, but has basically been the behind the many managers there have been since the creation of the team back in World Cup 49 [OOC: a bit like Stuart Pearce of England].)
Coach: Sameer Ahmad (Normal human, aged 54; is the older brother of Shabeen, and also has one of the higher goal counts, but has been much eclipsed by his brother's success.)
Coach and Team blogger:Shabeen Ahmad III (Normal Human, aged 52; has scored over 200 goals for the EL national team, and is still an inspiration to everyone, nearly taking the team to the playoffs in World Cup 58, which has his first foray into full management.)

This team were all taken out of their respective time-lines by Time Scoop technology, so where some may be dead by this time, they are alive at this point in space-time. And it was the ELFA who did this, with the help of its inventor, Rassilon.

Goalkeepers:

Blon Fel-Fotch Pasameer-Day Slitheen: Species: Raxacoricofallapatorian (family: Slitheen); refer to as Blon. Was caught impersonating MI5's Margaret Blaine in 2005 (Earth time), where she and her family members were planning to instigate World War III and turn the planet into fissile material, ready to sell. With the plan destroyed by a well-timed Harpoon missile, she managed to escape, but was the only one. She then went on to become Mayor of Cardiff, using a nuclear plant and the Cardiff Rift to attempt to escape. She did, but in doing so regressed into an egg, and was delivered to the hatcheries on Raxacoricofallpatorius for a second chance at life.

The Abzorbaloff: Species: Unknown, but related to Raxacoricofallapatorians (albeit despising them); Originating from Raxacoricofallapatorius' twin planet, Clom, this particular one came to Earth and tricked a group of humans who were searching for the Doctor to join him, but eventually absorbing them all to satisfy his hunger.

Outfielders (Basically, this lot can play anywhere on the pitch apart from in goal):

Strax: He was a Commander for the Sontaran Military, but was disgraced for an unknown reason, and then was forced to become a nurse by the Doctor, to settle a debt. Has since become a member of the Doctor's Victorian London detective team.

Reaper: Species: Reaper; Flying bat-like creatures with scythe-like tails, the Reapers are extradimensional beings, who have the ability to materialise in normal spacetime when a paradox occurs, devouring everything in the area to repair the damage. They can be stopped by material barriers, the older the better, but not permanently, and a paradox on the other side of the barrier will let them through quicker.

Madame Vastra: species: Silurian; Is another of the people who the Doctor a debt, in this case, it is for saving her from a life of crime and hiding out in the early London underground, and she in turn became a veiled Victorian detective. Part of the Doctor's Victorian detective team.

Creet: species: Toclofane/Human (from the year 100 trillion and reduced to live inside metal balls); With the universe on the brink of ending, a group of humans were building a means of escape to "Utopia". With the help of the Doctor, they managed to do so, but only found darkness, and then they cannibalised themselves into this shape. This particular one was a young boy who worked in the sanctuary.

The Doctor: species: Time Lord, age: last confirmed to be 1103 (although he doesn't really know himself). Words cannot describe this man's life, but as for football, he's had "plenty" of experience, having played a match for the King's Arm Pub League Football team and scoring more than two hat-tricks in that single match (and now World Cups 59 through 62 alongside Copa Rushmoris and Cups of Harmony). Plays mainly up front.

Captain Jack Harkness: species: unknown (very humanoid though); Jack grew up on the Boeshane Peninsula as a kid and joined the Time Agency, but quit after a few years, becoming a con man with a Vortex Manipulator (basic time travel). After meeting the Doctor during the Blitz, Jack dies on Satellite 5 in the year 200,000, but is then brought back to life by the Time Vortex, effectively becoming immortal.

Rory the Plastic Centurion: species: Auton, created by the Nestene Consciousness; refer to as Rory; Dressed up in full Roman armour, Rory has had a miserable past, one that has included being killed, followed shortly after by not being born, followed by becoming a plastic duplicate with a full human consciousness. However, he is rather hardened by all this, and also has a gun in his right hand which he won't use, but will still throw himself into anything nothing less than fully committed.

Raston Warrior Robot: species: None, it is a machine; This robot has been called 'the most perfect killing machine ever devised', being able to move faster than lightning and to kill a troop of Cybermen in seconds. Its face is featureless, and its weapons are collapsible and miniaturizable, and so concealed. For the purposes of this campaign, its weapons have been remotely disarmed, but it still moves faster than normal humans can see.

Pyrovile: species Pyrovile; A humanoid being made of pure magma and volcanic rock, Pyroviles are vicious (albeit quite slow), not to mention being about 5 times the height of average humans when fully grown. Pyroviles originated from the planet Pyrovilia, but crash landed on Earth after their home was lost. They grew in the bowels of Mount Vesuvius, giving some of the locals the power of soothsaying. They planned to convert the entire human race to Pyroviles, and in turn create a new Pyrovilia. As a consequence of his magma nature, all match balls will be lined with lead to prevent them from bursting.

Jenny: species: Human/Time Lord hybrid; The Doctor was taken by the TARDIS to Messaline, where a war was raging between humans and fish-like humanoids called Hath. The Doctor then had his hand put into a progenation machine, used to produce clones for the war, and out came Jenny. She was later on killed by a commander who refused to accept the ceasefire, but then came back to life, having died in the presence of a terraforming device. She was last seen blasting off in the rocket, looking for adventure, and now she's here.

Modified Weeping Angel: species: Weeping Angel; modifications: only becomes a statue when opposition player with the ball is looking at it; No information known as of yet.

Professor Lazarus: Species: Severely mutated human (completely not humanoid at times), refer to as Lazarus; Professor Lazarus was eighty-odd years old, but invented a machine which could manipulate a person's DNA and make them younger. The first demonstration nearly catastrophically fails, but Lazarus emerges much younger. However, his DNA was since found to be unstable, and it showed when Lazarus changed into a scorpion-like creature that drained the life energy of other humans in order to keep him young.

Dalek Sec: Species: Human Dalek (Dalek that has taken on a humanoid form); After the Battle of Canary Wharf, the Cult of Skaro, now armed with the knowledge that they were the last Daleks in existence, escaped to 1930's New York, where they planned to recreate themselves in a humanoid form, by merging symbiotically with kidnapped humans deemed to be of superior intelligence. The leader of the cult, Dalek Sec, was the first to do so, merging with the businessman behind the building of the Empire State Building to form a Human Dalek. The remaining pure Daleks stopped the program upon seeing a Sec having emotions.

Silent: species: The Silence; The Silence is a religious order that believes that Silence will fall when the first question, the oldest question in the universe, is put to the Doctor, on the fields of Trenzelor, where no living creature can speak falsely or fail to answer. They attempted to bring down the Doctor through an abducted part Time Lord child (no relation to the Doctor), and kill him in a still point, thus creating a fixed point. But they failed.

Captain Tybo: Species: Judoon; refer to as Tybo; Is a Juddoon captain who crashed on Earth whilst transporting the Juddoon's most wanted criminal, Androvax the Destroyer, wanted for 12 counts of planetary destruction.

Vashta Nerada swarm: species: Vashta Nerada; The are microscopic organisms, which when swarming are completely indistinguishable from shadows, and being highly carnivorous, this plays into their hands. These Vashta Nerada number about 3,000,000, but are compacted into a humanoid form, for fairness. After a Kinitar player had his leg chewed off, the vashta nerada that played in that cup have been swapped for a vegetarian and pescetarian swarm (so fish people/giant vegetables beware).

Home stadium: Lodger City Memorial Stadium (cap. 150,000)
The national stadium of Eastfield Lodge since it was built not too long ago, it was built on the ruins of the old Lodger City, the former capital of Eastfield Lodge which was completely devastated by a nuclear disaster and floods within minutes of each other. It stands as a symbol of a new life, now even more prevalent after a horrible civil war and what not. But the new city has now become the footballing capital of Eastfield Lodge after some of the biggest teams moved in after Dillvill declared independence.

Because I can't be bothered to make a factbook, information about Eastfield Lodge can be found here, although some of it will be out of date. Including the facts that Dillvill declared independence and went back to normal reality, as did half the country's empire. And the fact that the only link to us is a small island somewhere in the northeastern part of Rushmore. Any further questions, don't hesitate to ask!

(OOC: I'm not actually sure what voice perspective is being used in this narrative.)

Football in Olastor has never been of a professional nature, despite the corporatocracy that that nation has become. Because of this, all the footballers in Olastor are amateurs; even if the best teams might be sponsored by big name companies, any money coming from this is spent on maintaining equipment and facilities and on travel expenses.

However, Olastor have competed in previous World Cups and Copa Rushmoris, drawing from the large pool of amateur footballers at its disposal. Hasn't really worked though: no points in the Casaran stage at CR15, their footballing debut, 2 points and last place in their group at BoF 53, no points in World Cup 66 qualifying, but then a surprising 4 points at CR16, including a draw against Darmen and their first international victory. However, they did follow this up with a dismal effort in WC67, finishing with a measly two points, although the draws were against Gregoryisgodistan and Hutt River.

Anyways, that's the history lesson over, onto the present, and the Olastor National Team!

Which, by the way, isn't human.

No, what the players are, if they can be called players, are Shape-Shifting Androids From Another Dimension!TM

By another dimension, we do of course mean, stolen from Eastfield Lodge, despite them having the highest security to civilian ratio in Rushmore (and probably the highest of all the World Cup nations). Our reception of the most recent Copa Rushmori, for which we didn't bother applying, showed us the brilliance in bio-engineering and computer sciences that went into Eastfield Lodge's aptly named "Kamelions", robots that shape shift to literally take on the form of anything they want. The various sports-affiliated companies of Olastor watched as these robots were narrowly edged out by the eventual champions in Mytannion, so they're not perfect. We stole them and PERFECTED them. If we want, we could literally destroy any of our opponents. But some of our more ... "ethical" and "sportsmanlike" representatives opposed that, on the grounds that the citizens of Olastor would prefer to see a more even and non-violent contest to one proposed. Hey-ho.

The Roster:
There isn't one, to be honest. To make everything even, we decided to have our opponents effectively play against the team ranked exactly one place above them, and making the rankings circular (i.e. PIS would be against the bottom ranked team). And if a nation of the world objects to having their doppelgängers exist, then hard cheese on them. And good news for us too, because we'll then have our opponents play whatever takes our fancy; cute little bunny rabbits or giant carnivorous Rushmori geese/vegetable/pony hybrids. Literally whatever. And to make it fun, we'll set the controls to random.

Managers? Anything normal?
Again, with the adoption of this cunning plan, all tactics (and player abilities) will be based off the teams copied. There will be no manager, instead everything, including all the "players" themselves, will be centrally controlled by the AI known only as SAL9001, the redesign of SAL9000 which CyberMirage so foolishly released into the country's network. All the players will work in perfect harmony with each other, resulting in the perfect execution of whatever moves may take place on the pitch.

What about those random teams?
Random tactics. 1-2-7, or 8-1-1, who knows what formations and tactics will be generated.

Anything else?
All the Kamelions will have emotion chips built in, to prevent any emotional reaction to opposing sets of fans and negative Olastor fans. Positive effects due to our fans will be amplified as much as is safe (and more, if need be).
Ah yes, the home stadium. All matches will be played at the 50,000 capacity Capitol Stadium in Olastaryn, Olastor's capital. Be prepared to lose all your money in the masses of shops and various pickpocketers nearby, and to be blasted with about 20,000 adverts while you're here. (OOC: Almost like in Cafundeu, if any remembers that).

RP Permissions (OOC:)
I will edit this roster later if any of the teams impersonated does not wish to be so. This team is a team of impostors, not the actual players of the impersonated nation.
With regards to what you can do to my team, be my guest. They are well-built robots however, equipped with state-of-the-art self-defence technology, so be warned. Being metal and all, they will be generally more resilient to damage than flesh, they will not tire (unless something goes wrong, and feel free to make it so) and they will leave collisions with the recipient much, much worse for wear (even if the Kamelion doesn't mean to). Anything too outlandish and with far-reaching effects outside of football, best to TG me first (TG Eastfield Lodge, not this nation).

Thanks to Kirola Sports for this amazing crest

All-Time Record: (W-D-L) (17-10-27)

Coaches:
Head Coach: Simon Jewel
Assistant Coach: Esther Sapp
Assistant Coach: Cecil Herberts

These three coaches are by definition, the best in all of Yttribia. Simon Jewel, new manager of Guayabalian club Energiye Primyore, is the mastermind of Yttribian football, with his risk-taking choices on defense taking Yttribia to a respectable fourth in the Baptism of Fire. Esther Sapp, after quite a long time in second, finally got her championship with FC Delare Minon, helping that club to their first championship after countless years in the shadows of the victors. Cecil Herberts somehow brought a team from the second division, to UICA competitions in just two seasons. How he did it, there is no idea.

About Yttribia:
A nation of 38.000.000, Yttribia is located between the nations in Thrilledge and Byfugland, on the continent of Inferiore, in the region of Esportiva; its capital being Fontvieille. The nation's border between the two countries consists of a mountain range known as the Urellans, where most of the Urellians live. There are six official languages, and (in order of usage) they are: English, Spanish, Catalan, German, French, and Italian. The rest of the nation is mostly at sea level, with some of the most gorgeous beaches in the multiverse.

Culturally, Yttribians are proud of how godforsaken they are, with the majority of citizens being listed as godforsaken. A sizeable minority belong to the satirical church, known as the Church of Vilhjalmsson, and a small minority belong to the Urellian Church of Christ. The government is highly is somewhat large, but civil rights are respected by the government. Politically, most Yttribians identify on the left, with the Convergence being the largest registered party in the nation. Others include "el Sindicat del Trellabadores" or the Workers' Syndicate, Partito Verde or the Green Party, the Liberal Party, and the Conservative Party.

The largest five cities in Yttribia are (descending down) Fontvieille, Telino, Gremalsco, Zevella, and Delare Minon.

Stadiums
Estadi dels Núvols, Gremalsco, Penedès | cap. 105,000
Image

The largest stadium in all of Yttribia, Estadi dels Núvols now serves as the dual home for the national team, as well as being the current home of Yttribian football club, Gremalsco FC. Finally built for Gremalsco FC's growing amount of fans from all across the nation who seem to travel from the entire eastern side of the nation, the stadium is considered one of the safest in all of the nation, with various food stands and restaurants built inside the stadium, so the place is always busy, whether a match is playing or not. The stadium is barely inside the city limits, and is connected to by the National Railway, and various rapid transit lines.

Le Nid Violet, Fontvieille, FCD | cap. 81,800
Image

The second largest stadium in the entire nation, Le Nid Violet has hosted various sporting events throughout its short history. The stadium has hosted the forty-ninth UICA Series B Champion's Cup Final, as well as the fourth UICA Youth Cup semi-finals and final match. The stadium has also hosted the final series of the Campionato Esportiva de Pallancesto II, which was won by Taijan. The stadium is considered the most technologically advanced, with a large JumboTron above the pitch, secured from falling down during a match. Located in downtown Fontivieille, the stadium is considered one of the main terminals for the Fontvieille Underground, with various lines passing through the stadium. Underneath the stadium is Fontvieille's largest mall/food court, with 250,000 people visiting there from Yttribia and Esportiva per week.

Formation:
5-3-2 Sweeper

"Outdated" it was, until Simon Jewel brought back this timeless formation back in the previous Baptism of Fire. Jewel wants to minimize offensive chances by utilizing this formation, with his so called "Yttribian Wall", which minimizes chances to score. The system has been seen as highly effective, due to the lone goal the Polar Islandstates scored against Yttribia, proving that even the best nations have their scoring abilities reduced.

Style Mod:
-1.15

Roster:
Goalkeepers
#1 - Ulrich Draper - 27 - GK - Mardi Lopunnies (NSI)
#20 - Ferdinand Forney - 27 - GK - FC Delare Minon (1st)
#23 - Gaspard Irvin - 21 - GK - AC Zevella (2nd)

Pacey Berger's stint on the Yttribian National Team is over, and Ferdinand Forney is in as the final goalkeeper to make the Yttribian squad. Forney is one of the main reasons on why the Minon team won the domestic championship. Gaspard Irvin, the youngest of the three goalkeepers, is one of those keepers that are ready to run out, and get pushed around in order to keep the sheet clean. Irvin is considered the heir to Ulrich Draper, who plays for the Sunrisean powerhouse, the Mardi Lopunnies.

Defenders
#9 - Hervé Torres - 26 - RWB - Rogglebo TU (EAR)
#11 - Rico Mathews - 24 - CB - Jungle Strike FC (VIL)
#14 - Dezi Burns - 23 - CB - AC Zevella (2nd)
#15 - Xavi Vilhjalmsson - 25 - Sweeper - Crystopolis City (CRY)
#17 - Tanner Dickinson - 24 - RWB/LWB - AC Zevella (3rd)
#18 - Bailey Linville - 27 - LWB - AC Zevella (3rd) (C)
#21 - Darren Quinones - 26 - Sweeper - Delare Minon FC (1st)
#22 - Bradley Gaspar - 24 - CB - Miners '47 (APX)

Yes, Hervé Torres has been sober ever since the Beltane Cup, and the Anti-Alcohol Foundation has made him the leading spokesperson for the fight against alcohol abuse. Rico Matthews, starter for one of the most successful clubs in all of domestic history, Vilitan club Strike FC. Bradley Gaspar is a starter for another not so great team, Miners '47 of Apox, but he still plays his heart out, and the fans there give him the best time of his life, bless their souls. Vilhjalmsson is considered one of the best players on the Yttribian team, and one of the best sweepers in the multiverse, bringing the position back to life and giving it a taste of the world in a brand new age in football. Torres and Linville are the wingers for the team, and take part in multiple sprints, changing their location of the winger, much to the dismay of their opponents. These five players form the Yttribian Wall, known throughout the region, and hopefully coming to a city near you.

Midfielders
#2 - Antonio Abreu - 27 - CM - Alianza F.C. (SJG)
#3 - Onésime Rios - 28 - DM - Izotz Zubia (AUD)
#4 - Eugène Janvier - 21 - CM - FC Nova Tunis (TJN)
#5 - Bobbie Allard - 27 - CM - Old Corinthians (TLI)
#8 - Ned Goode - 24 - DM - Northbrook Diamonds FK (PIS)
#13 - Michel di Mercurio - 22 - DM - Gesterlake FC (ASG)
#16 - Gustave Mynatt - 30 - CM - Viztourzys Kolektyvinis (BYN)

Antonio Abreu has made himself a home at Guayabelese powerhouse Alianza FC, considered one of their best players on the squad. Gustave Mynatt is the other centre midfielder, sometimes playing in the attack whenever is necessary, and that's usually most of the time. One of Viztourzys Kolektyvinis's starters, a high level and demand for the club after winning the forty-ninth Globe Cup has really notched his game up at thirty years of age, and probably has three to four good seasons left in him. Lastly is the twenty-eight year old defensive midfielder, Onésime Rios, who recently signed for Audioslavian club Izotz Zubia, who were the Audioslavian champions in the LigAnalia. Quick, and willing to take a couple of hits, Rios is the first line of defense for the Yttribians.

Attackers
#6 - Aydan Hackett - 30 - FC - Afonse Battalion(NSI)
#7 - Terry Hyme - 25 - FC - Avenida Principal (FFD)
#10 - Venceslás School - 27 - FC - New Oslo Town (TSA)
#12 - Moisés Fairclough - 24 - FC - Hellenic Rouge (PAS)
#19 - Sacheverell St Pierre - 27 - FC - Montfort University (TLI)

Terry Hyme, the most recent signing for Farf champions Avenida Principal, has been given the chance to finally start for the Ravens. Another change up front involves Moisés Fairclough, who was one of the many new players ready to play for the Hellenic Rouge, of Pasarga. These two are probably the newest front line for Yttribia's scoring opprotunities, giving the long-lasting duo of School and St Pierre a bit of a break.

Gordonopian National Team
World Cup 68

The past two years for Gordonopian Football have seen an unmitigated disaster follow hot on the heals of a landmark triumph. After a movement that lasted years catalyzed in a few short months to produce the first truly professional women's football league in Gordonopia, several shocking revelations were uncovered that shook the nation to its core. The most visible opposition to the push was a violent reactionary group known as Heritage Alliance who used brutal attacks and attempted bomb threats to intimidate pro-female athlete activists. Though some foreign governments were suspected to be supporting Heritage, perhaps without knowledge of its activities, a story broke soon after the new 'Gordonopian National League' completed its first season that Daniel Marcus, one of the most powerful men in football, had had knowledge of Heritage's activities, including the identities of its leadership, but had done nothing about it.

As head of the Imperial Athletic Corporation, which was the primary owner of the Gordonopia Premier League entity (though nothing more than a minority stakeholder in any of the clubs, most not even that) and owner of several regional leagues, and also as a board member of the Gordonopia Football Federation, this revelation grew into perhaps the greatest scandal in Gordonopia's sporting history. During the fight to create the GNL, Marcus had been known as one of the more powerful opponents. No one had suspected him of covering up terrorist actions, or perhaps even tacitly condoning them.

The response was unprecedented. The GPL itself was forced by the crown itself to halt play for a year as a new operating structure could be put in place. Had it played through, it would have been a lackluster year at best given that UICA announced that any Gordonopian entries from that season would not be accepted. A Crown Inquisition was set up to pursue one of the most high-profile court cases in decades.

As the nation seeks to move on, there are some signs of life. Though the GPL will be forced to live with the mark of shame that is a 0.0 coefficient for the next several years, its clubs, now free of any IAC affiliation, put on a decent showing with Teva FC making it as far as the Champions' Cup semifinals. The GFF managed to distance itself from Marcus and after a long bout of negotiations avoid facing suspension from World Cup 68. Though many people's relationship with the sport itself, after seeing the depths some will sink to keep it entrenched in their image, has been irreversibly shaken, the World Cup itself is looked forward too as a cause to unify around once again. Indeed, for the first time in its history, the National Team will feature female athletes; though they will start on the bench due to their lack of international experience, GNL stars Mary Stepp (GK) and Bella Franz (CM) will have the chance to prove through qualifying that they can stand on the field with their male brethren.

Starting Eleven - 4-3-1-2 Formation

Formation

Jay Neuman - Captain
How much longer will he last is just about the only question on anyone's mind about Jay Neuman. He's simply the best, having proved that domestically and on the world stage, and it seems that a new keeper will only get a chance when he chooses to retire.
GK - 32 - Club: Image FC Deska - 118 Caps - 0 Goals

Oliver White
Though some of former manager Michael Neu's later gambles ultimately led to his sacking, Oliver White's risky slotting at left back as a little experienced 23 year old was not one of them. The young back proved to be a rock in the backfield throughout qualification, just as his club teammate was on the right, and he kept that up last cycle. Of miniscule 12 goals scored against Gordonopia through both qualification and the World Cup, only one came against White.
LB - 27 - Club: Image FC Deska - 53 Caps - 2 Goals

Olf Beckmueller
Olf Beckmueller's talents speak for themselves, and were good enough to put the imposing but surprisingly quick man into perhaps the world's best club back line as young as 19. Likewise, the historically weaker center was virtually locked down to active play when Beckmueller joined the national squad; no more than one or two goals last cycle could be called a defensive error and were simply attributable to the rock-solid wall of which Beck formed the vital missing piece.
CB - 23 - Club: Image FC Deska - 23 Caps - 0 Goals

Jakob Metzel
Though not from FC Deska itself, Metzel's selection for centerback proves that Northern football rules the defense. With all five of the back men coming from the Deska metro area, it seems that other region's simply can't keep up with the mountains' backline prowess. Metzel himself has provided a much needed spark for a Reinheim team that recently won its first title in several years when it won the 2023 GPL season, so he is certainly no political pick.
CB - 25 - Club: Image Reinheim Metro - 23 Caps - 1 Goals

Mikah Laslo - Vice Captain
Like his left counterpart, Laslo proved why Deska is known worldwide as 'The Northern Wall'. His play proved to be virtually impenetrable, forcing even a powerful Audioslavian side to stay clear of the wings. At the same time, he proved to have some offensive kick thanks to his tremendous speed which allows him to assist in making plays up front as well as chase down speedy strikers.
RB - 29 - Club: Image FC Deska - 45 Caps - 4 Goals

Albert Wagner
After an injury to Zachary Johnston in the 65th cycle, Albert Wagner was forced to step up the starting eleven. Once there, he proved to be a better choice than his predecessor, and thus a full spot in the lineup comes this time around. Wagner is perhaps the best domestic player for the formidable Teva FC side, which has derived most of its success from international signings.
LDM - 29 - Club: Image Teva FC - 40 Caps - 1 Goals

Alvin Hartwright
Filling the shoes of Davis Roger, Gordonopia's most capped player and a consistent starter at SK Franz Josef City, would be colossal task for anyone, and Gordonopian fans can only pray that the young Hartwright is up to the task. With Basin Plain he has shown to be formidable in the midfield, and his handful of international caps seem to confirm it. Only time will tell, though, if Hartwright will continue the incredible legacy of a player who participated in every Gordonopian cycle since the Empire's WC60 debut.
CDM - 22 - Club: Image Basin Plain - 10 Caps - 0 Goals

Jonathon Blaine
The fifth and final Deska starter, Jonathon Blaine strikes fear into players attempting to bring balls up the wing. Over the past few GPL seasons, several outlets proclaimed him the best in the league at shutting down runs, and his technically skilled passing abilities allow him to turn his numerous stops into counters.
RDM - 26 - Club: Image FC Deska - 36 Caps - 2 Goals

Marc Castleton
The most vocally opposed choice for Ströhm's first cycle the decision to retain Marc Castleton as the first element of the attack. However, considering that he contributed just as many goals and far more assists than the strikers, he was certainly the most logical pick if only one of the forward three was to remain, and with six goals and several more assists last time around, it proved to be a bet that paid off.
AM -24 - Club: Image Union Holiday - 50 Caps - 19 Goals

Alphonse Mueller
Ströhm seems to be betting that a cycle of consistency up front will lead to results, and one can only hope that it will break up Gordonopia's consistent mediocrity when it comes to scoring goals.
ST - 26 - Club: Image Basin Plain - 20 Caps - 8 Goals

Fritz Lahm
Though he hasn't put in as many goals as some would like, Lahm managed to keep his spot up front by virtue of his strong playmaking chops that included vital assists throughout last cycle.
ST - 28 - Club: Image Kaje Football - 19 Caps - 5 Goals

Reserves
Albert Bittner - GK - 24 - Club: Image Reinheim Metro - 2 Caps - 0 Goals
Mary Stepp - GK - 25 - Club: Image Al-Kharid Football - 0 Caps - 0 goals
Eric Franklin - B - 28 - Club: Image FC Kjin (New Gordonopia) - 22 Caps - 0 Goals
Marcus Espy - B - 28 - Club: Image Teva FC - 2 Caps - 0 Goals

Stadium and Travel Information
Empire Stadium, Gordonopia City
Capacity: 160,000
Though most Gordonopian running and football sites are viewed with a sort of reverence, only a handful are holy sites. Empire, directly adjacent to the equally sized Empire Track, is one of them. Built as one of the first major public works projects following the War of Restoration with 160,000 seats, it is the largest football venue in Gordonopia, and consistently sells out.

Though it is not the home site for any clubs, it is the home of the National Team, as well as several major competitions. The Gordonopia Cup, a post-season playoff for the best teams from the Gordonopia Premier League, sees its final game played at Empire every season. The final of the 49th UICA Champions' Cup, where Selyne City Athenians of the Northern Sunrise Islands defeated the world's all time greatest club team, Yuba United of Commerce Heights, 2-0, was held at Empire last year. It also played host to the final of the 51st Baptism of Fire four years ago, in which New Sideburn edged out Nenets Autonomous Okrug one-nil, and the recent 53rd Baptism of Fire where Welsh Cowboy defeated The Paradystopi Lymryk Isles 3-1. Above all other footballing venues in the Empire, Empire Stadium is truly a cathedral to the sport.

When traveling to Empire, one must be aware of the city itself. Gordonopia City is one of the famous Gordonopian 'megacities', with its metro area home to 214,000,000 souls, and the city-proper housing 69,000,000. Visiting teams will be given world-class practice facilities, and will be put up at the Imperial Hotel on Inn Boulevard, adjacent to Restoration Park where Empire is located.

Language

Gordonopia is, in general, a bi-lingual nation. Anyone with an understanding of English should have little trouble, as 85% of the country speaks English as a first language, and 97% speak it at a conversational level. Likewise, German speakers should also have a relatively easy time finding people to communicate with, as 8% of Gordonopia City speaks the language as their mother tongue, 30% are totally fluent, and nearly 80% have basic conversational skills. Other regional languages include Old-Gordonopian and Kjeldoran, found primarily in remote villages, while immigrant languages may be found in their respective neighborhoods.

Transportation

Such a massive city requires a colossal transportation network to function, and Gordonopia City has just that. To begin with, multiple large international airports offer several portals for incoming teams.

There is also an intricate, well-organized public transportation system, which is highly recommended for teams. Extensive subway, light rail, bus-only lanes, and commuter train lines offer excellent methods of travel for both your team and fans, and priority passes are available for visiting squads. Shuttles from the hotel to the nearby practice site and Empire will be provided.

Renting automobiles or other transportation is an option, though road traffic outside of public transport is generally a nightmare, and thus not recommended.

Accommodation and Currency

The Imperial Hotel at Restoration Park is one of a chain of state-run high-end hotels. The hotel itself offers amenities from world-class restaurants to spas. Restoration Park across the street is one of the largest open spaces in the city, constructed after the War of Restoration as a monument. The North End of the park is home to the IGC Premier Center, an exhibition hall that will be hosting the Gordonopian Electronic Gaming Show during the first home match, and may have other conventions taking place. The South End is home to the Imperial Military Museum, where the military history of Gordonopia can be found. In the West is Empire Track, a running venue just as large as Empire Stadium and dedicated to Gordonopia's other great athletic pursuit. Empire Stadium is located on the East End, with a large memorial to those who gave their lives in the War located in the center. The park itself is massive, four square miles, built by joining several former parks via neighborhoods that had been ruined during the war.

Following the War, it was decided that the currency should be changed to the Universal Standard Dollar, or USD, in order to make international transactions easier.

Leisure

When not training or playing, players will have a diverse selection of leisure activities at their fingertips, beyond Restoration Park.

Gordonopia City has a sizable, diverse nightlife scene, ranging from old bars and taverns to cutting-edge nightclubs.

If you're feeling classy, Gordonopia is world renowned for its opera, which has become the one of the popular genres of music in the country, much to the surprise of the rest of the world. In Gordonopia City, one can even find visit the beautiful Staatsoper Gordonopia and see the nation's most renowned performers.

Lovers of food will find Gordonopia to be a very diverse culinary experience, with a unique blend of English, German, and traditional cuisine found nowhere else on Earth. The most famous local dishes include Chorhash, a cut of any white fish seasoned with salt, diced and mixed with pieces of bratwurst, marinated in a spicy Tevan marinade known as Dikit, and fried, and Vadkhor, a roll with an outer texture of cornbread but an inner texture of a dinner roll, known as a zorje, and fries it golden brown. It is then covered in honey and cooked for a short duration. Sugar is sprinkled on top, and the interior is filled with a whipped cream-like filling known as Castd. International dishes such as steaks, schnitzel, hamburgers, and various chicken dishes are also popular. Visitors and players are also fortunate enough to have access to a restaurant from their home country, as any nation with an embassy in the capitol also has at least restaurant opened serving its traditional cuisine.

Additionally, all players in Gordonopia will receive a complimentary Titan game console from Gordonopian Games, as well as a copy of World Cup 68.

Albaie Imperial National Team

Albaie enter their third tournament with one ambition. Qualification. Much of the nation has forgotten about football. They had their last domestic season cancelled and the newly renovated Saint Ruk Stadium has yet to see a domestic game and isn't a fortress of it's club's home games but is now a fortress of the Imperial First Loyalist Volunteer Force and was the scene of a fierce battle between them and the Rogers Renegades a band of rebels just one of the many rebel parties.

The Second Albaie Revolution engulfed the nation soon after Count Vincent Deberen's accident which still engulfs him. The revolution began due to the Imperium's peasantry believing they deserved more respect from the nobles after one noble was filmed murdering peasants and despite the Emperor's quick justice a wide spread rebellion was staged and now there is three factions. The nobles and their retinues and the peasantry who commit atrocious acts against each other while the Emperor and the Dubrack Wolfs his small but loyal army from the old armed forces who try to maintain some kind of order.

The revolution stole from the Albaie National Team their greatest success of third place in a qualifying group as the nation lost intrest on their favorite sport but despite Count Vincent Deberen many claiming he could have united the nation with the team he would have led they are pressing on with plans to enter the Campionato. Sir Mark Deberen his fathers second son pleaded with the Emperor to allow him to gather up the World Cup squad and have one chance at reuniting the Empire through football.

The war continues to rage on despite the successes at the Campionato. The Emperor has given Sir Mark permission to go to the World Cup in another attempt to unite the nation.

The war while it may have been pushed out of Albaie island still rages on across the island chain as peasentry fight with centuries of hatred filling their veins while the nobles command armies from behind their fortress walls as they count money and the Imperial Army tries to regain lost ground and bring back Imperial authority.

Staff
Count Vincent Deberen The Elder LCOTIO KOTB -Manager. Deberen Albaie's only manager in the recent Multiverse Era has lead our team to great heights during the Campionato Esportiva but the recent qualification campaign has besmirched his record. Hopefully Deberen can rebuild the team and lead it back to its former glory. Deberen also managers Dubrack's Town Celtic the Imperial Bank Premier League powerhouse who also have started making waves on the continental scene. Deberen is also a former player who holds all goalscoring records in the country and is Albaie's most capped ever player with 178 caps and with 167 goals shows what a star he was. Not to be confused with Vincent Deberen The Younger who is his 16 year old son who happens to play for both Dubrack's Town Celtic and the Albaie National Team. Even though he keeps his place as manager he is still incapacitated following a car crash and has remained so throughout the Second Albaie Revolution.

Brigadier Lord Mark Deberen DC SRC AS Bar MS DSM of the 77th Brigade Deberen's Dragons - Caretaker Manager. Mark another member of the Deberen sporting dynasty who as son of Vincent Deberen The Elder was widely touted as his successor and at the young age of 15 was playing in a Under 19's match for his fathers club Dubrack's Town Celtic against local rivals Albaie Rangers to prepare for his starting debut when a vicious challenge broke his leg in two places and the young lad announced his retirement but a week later was announced as Head of Youth Team Liaisons at Dubrack's Town Celtic where he took lessons from his father and started doing his coaching badges and by the age of 20 he was Head of First Team Coaching under his father and alongside Sir Arthur Sportern was his father's closest ally. Mark then left the club at 24 to manage the struggling Maras Wolfs and in his first season won the Emperor's Shield and the Imperial Bet Championship and so secured promotion to the Imperial Bank Premier League. In the team's first season in the top flight Mark completed the unthinkable not only winning the Albaie Cup but the Imperial Bank Premier League itself a feat unrivalled in Albaie footballing history. Then at the end of the season he announced his resignation and returned to fill the space left by Arthur Sportern as he became Head of the AFA and made a duke. Mark then at the beginning of last season filled the gap left by Stephen MacMillan at international level who left to head the Imperial Commission for Improvement In Football under Duke Arthur Sportern at the AFA being made a Count in the process. Has taken over his father's managerial position in his absence. After a successful World Cup and his return to the war torn nation he joined up into the Imperial Army raising a brigade known as Deberen's Dragons with 5,000 infantry men, 1,500 horsemen and 500 artilleryman with cannons as well. His war service was exceptional and he saw combat in many battles one of which the Battle of Horseton in which he won the battle with a valiant horsecharge but sustained a fierce face wound resulting in a much altered appearance. Over the course of the war he was awarded a DC a AS and a SRK for his valiant service as well as being allowed to start his own cadet branch House Deberen of Horseton with the lordship of Horseton being granted to him having slayed it's rebel lord in the battle. At the Battle Of Harlington Hall Mark and Vincent Deberen snuk behind enemy lines with their troops and played havoc on the enemy rear effectively causing distractions that enabled the Emperor's troops to win the battle with minimal losses. Mark was awarded with a DSM and a AS for his service as well as having his estates expanded by 2,000 acres from territory taken from rebel soldiers.

Cheif Of Staff Colonel Lord Edward " Lucky " Mercer DC AS SRC MC MS of the 77th Brigade Deberen's Dragons - Goalkeeping Coach / Caretaker Assistant Manager - " Lucky " is a former youth player for Dubrack's Town Celtic and Albaie but he suffered a serious injury his career was over. He then saw service in the 77th Dubrack's Town Light Infantry during the Second Advar Revolution when he sided with the Crown Prince during the Battle Of Advaria and then served by his side during the conflict and was well decorated with a Dubrack Cross and an Albert Star as well as a Saint Ruk Cross for his good service as well as being made a Knight of Saint Arthyr for saving the Crown Prince's life on three occasions. " Lucky " then joined the Imperial Guard but saw a stagnation in his career as he was posted to service with unimportant members of the Imperial Family and then finally service as a guard at the AFA which is where Count Vincent Deberen recruited him as a coach and he quickly rose through the ranks at Dubrack's Town Celtic and Albaie and became a key man in the Campionato Esportiva. He was a key part of the last World Cup campaign. " Lucky " joined Sir Mark as his second in command and the two saw great service in the war and were both richly awarded and " Lucky " was raised to a lord and has become one of the key men of the loyalist army.

Formation, Starting 11, and Style

Image

Style Modifier= -3.5

Nova Anglicana has never been known on the world stage for the quality of its football. The key for this squad will be learning to play together as a cohesive unit. Nova Anglicana is led by three stars: Julian Neal, Newfield FC's outstanding goalkeeper, Giuseppe Carbone, veteran and captain of Bridgewall City FC, and Raphael Baptiste, the dangerous Olympique Sept-Iles striker who led the league in scoring last year. The rest of the team is not so great, but with a first attempt at qualifying under their belts, they will be ready for their second go-round

Accordingly, manager Patrick Moran has gone with a 1-4-4-1 formation that allows the two non-goalkeepers to maximize their talents. The 1-4-4-1 is a bit unorthodox and antiquated, employing a sweeper and a striker. Moran and the NAFA believe in controlling possession and cutting off the opponent's access, thus making them unable to score, and follow somewhat the Italian philosophy of catenaccio, or "doorbolt" football. Carbone is responsible for picking up loose balls that get behind the defense and also for personally marking the opponent's best striker. The two center defenders and midfielders pinch together to clog the middle of the field, while the two outside defenders sag back to cover the wings as the two outside midfielders move slightly up in support of Baptiste. The main focus of the formation is to deny the opponent goal-scoring opportunities and keep control of the ball to feed to Baptiste. If the Lions do allow an opponent to get deep into the defense, Carbone will clean things up and begin the counterattack. This style, far from being boring, is applauded by many Nova Anglican fans, who prize hard work, perseverance, and value the hard-fought tie just as much as the win.

Whether this style will bring them any success in qualification for the 68th World Cup remains to be seen. The Lions will struggle to score more than a single goal if the opponent is able to deny Baptiste, and so the philosophy of possession football will have to be at peak efficiency to prevent the opponent from scoring. In the BoF 54, the Lions won two of three group stages games for six points, and qualified to the round of 16. However, there, their run came to an end in a defeat against Yttribia on PKs (0-0 AET, 6-5 PK). In the 67th edition of the World Cup, the Lions finished with a record of 6-4-6, good for 22 points and 4th place in their qualfying group. They conceded a mere 13 goals, but were only able to score a paltry 11. They were eliminated in the group stages of the 59th Cup of Harmony, losing a pair of games to two strong teams in Felix and Saintland. The Lions are honored to be participating in the 68th World Cup Qualification and look to score some upsets en route to perhaps actually qualifying for the World Cup in Legalese/Free Republics.

The Inevitable Syndicate Presents...
Image
The Inevitable Syndicate National Football Team
For World Cup 68

World Cup 67 saw marginal success for the Syndicate, with the Syndicate managing to scrape into the Round of 16 before being knocked out by Vilita in the final minutes of their game by a single goal. This infuriated a lot of the team, and caused a slight shakeup in the team's makeup. Lewis Thackeray remained strong, though, and attempted to whip the team into shape for the next cycle, starting with the introduction of some new blood. However, the events of AOCAF 43 in Kinitaria last year have taken their toll on the Syndicatian manager, and after being trumped by a mostly dormant Legalese side who went on to falter just a match later, he has decided to resign from his job as manager of the national team, as he didn't fancy going back there should the Syndicate qualify. The leave, which was left unannounced until just weeks before the World Cup, caused panic across the Syndicate's footballing sphere, until it was realised that he'd found a replacement. Gerald Montier, of Burgess FC fame, leapt at the chance to manage the team, but has left quite the power vacuum back at his own club. Whether this will have an impact on this year's LigAnaia is anyone's guess, but for now he looks to have his sights set on a decent qualifying attempt from the Syndicate, in order to prove that he was the best choice for the job, as opposed to the Corvidae backed but ultimately denied Stuart Parhoe, who came from FC Southern Ninestar.

The squad remains ultimately unchanged, as Montier didn't fancy making too much of a change on his inaugural cycle. 32 year old Ryan Oliver, who served the team for many years, has decided to take a step down from international football to focus in on his game in Astograth, and has been replaced by David Tavel, who is an up and coming star that really shone during last year playing for Astograth University. Ethan Sinclair has also left, in order to spend more time with his family after the birth of their first child. Montier's picked 21 year old Scott Fletcher for the replacement, hoping that bringing some youth into the team will breathe some new life into it. He's also moved Aaron Allen onto the start squad to compensate, and has also dropped defender Antony Kay, in order to pick up an forward, also from Dí Maozöxê in Farfadillis - Spencer Fox.

Whether this will make a difference is all yet to be seen - but the nation has high hopes for it's national team, in what could be its best World Cup yet.

Home Ground: The Flynn Arena

The Flynn Arena. A stadium seeped in the blood, sweat, and tears of not only fans of the Syndicate's national team, and Fligsive FC, but of the fans of football across the world. Some iconic matches have been played within it's walls that didn't even feature the Syndicate at all - The World Cup 66 final, for example, in which Eura proved their dominance against a Valhallan side that was looking for glory, but just fell short. That side went on to take victory in the next cycle, and many Vahlallan fans from Franz Josef City hopped over to see the 5th Vennskap Shield, where, with a little help from Luke Mitchell, SK Franz Josef triumphed over Longyearbyen Town in a 2-0 win that even the casual fans of football were talking about in clubs across the city. Just a few months after, it hosted the final of the Fifty-Second Champions' Cup, where Mytanar Side 1896 Ebor snatched victory from Iturributa United. Fans across the multiverse love the place, as does everyone living around it, but will your team be the next to etch their own moment into the hallowed halls of the beautiful game?
