Season I

Introduction
Isula ĝe Ru is a nation of fans of two things: scholarly wit and action. Football, with extraordinary tactics and thought, as well as the obvious excitement, seems to be the best manner in which the Isulans can express their interests. As such, the Isulan Football Association has organized a nationwide football festival of sorts, between the nation's thirty-six best clubs. The word festival is, perhaps, incorrect, for this is very much a league of a highly competitive nature, although split into three distinct parts. Of these three parts, two are what would be considered the "regular season", and one the "cup".

The season begins with Phase One, the Island Championships, where the thirty-six teams are split into three parallel leagues based on geographic area, with twelve to a league: The Liga Oria, The Liga Ocĉia, and The Liga Aura. Each of the twelve teams plays each of their opponents home and away, for a twenty-two game championship. At the end of the season, the team atop the table is crowned Island Champion.

After a short break, Phase Two commences. The top four teams in each league move on to play in the National Championship, the highest level of Isulan football. The middle four teams compete in Division I, and the bottom four teams from each Island League compete in Division II. The team atop the National Championship once all teams have played each other twice is declared National Champion.

Phase Two also sees the beginning of the Mist Cup, a knockout-style tournament among all thirty-six Isulan teams.

International Qualification
Qualification to the Champion's Cup and Globe Cup is taken from the National Championship, while qualification to the SBCC is taken from Division I. Division II is not open to International Qualification.

Season I
Phase One

The first season opened with much fanfare, as A Mara defeated Ĉirquidu 3-2 in the first match, in the Liga Oria. Here are the final tables for each Island Championship:

While Isula Are Esĉer ran away with the title, there were heated battles for berths in every tier of Phase Two, as Orie Ĉea edged out Ĉirquidu for the final spot in the National Championship, and the last Division I spot being decided by goal differential, with Coru Coru edging A Mara. Isula Are Esĉer proudly takes the first Orian Championship trophy, and the chance to compete for more in the National Championship.

A much more heated battle for the Ocĉian title sees Cruĝ Alba defeat Isula Esiru and Club ĝ'Ocĉiu by just 3 points for the title. The league is well split, but only twenty-two points seperates the top of the table from the bottom.

And in the most anxiety-inducing race of Phase One, two teams from the central, eponymic island of Isula ĝe Ru battle for the Island title, with the aptly named Isula ĝe Ru finally taking it over Scholar's Tower by just a single point. The stage is now set for the second phase of Isulan football, as the National Championship and its accompianing divisions begin play.

Phase Two

The second phase would see the first ever National Championship played out, as well as Isula ĝe Ru's first International Qualifiers sent to compete. The final tables for all three tiers are below

Division Two saw Ĉebesta, Ulmea, Aĝi Ĉeasa, and Laĝerna prove they don't want to be counted among the twelve worst, as they put up over 40 points. Ĉebesta emerges with the inagural title, and Club ĝe Mara takes the first Wooden Spoon.

Division One sees Maĉia with the trophy in a hard-fought grind of a season, won with only 36 points. CF Saidu, Ĉirquidu, and Gutlé qualify along with Maĉia to the Series B Champion's Cup.

The National Championship season was exciting and action-packed, with first and last place in the table seperated by only seventeen points. Maria CF edges Arĝa CF by just a single point to claim the inagural Isulan title. Cæa ĝe Naĝu and Scholar's Tower tie on points to take the remaining Globe Cup places, defeating out Club ĝ'Ocĉiu by a single point.

Mist Cup

The Mist Cup is the knockout tournament of Isula ĝe Ru. To begin, the teams are split into twelve groups of three, where they play each opponent home and away, four games over six matchdays. The group winners qualify directly to the Round of Sixteen, while the eight best second-place teams enter a qualification round. All knockout ties are single matches, played at a neutral site.

The Round of Sixteen is full of excitement, as National Champions Maria CF, who barely made it into the Qualification Round as the nineteenth seed, play 120 goalless minutes, then advance to the Quarterfinals from the Penalty spot at the expense of Isula Are Esĉer. CF Saidu also needs penalties to defeat Vilha in a thriller. Ĉeĉali CĝF defeats Club Cæa, and Isula Esiru edges Isula ĝe Ru, by the same 1-0 score. Arĝa CF puts up a commanding 3-0 performance over A Mara, while an Extra Time goal permits Cæa ĝe Naĝu to defeat Ĉirquidu. Maĉia has no problem against Ĉebu Esiru, but Club ĝ'Ocĉiu is shocked by Olympi.

Maria CF look a good chance to win the National Double (Championship and Cup) in the inagural season, as they command CF Saidu 3-1. Olympi continues their run with a 2-1 victory over Ĉeĉali. Isula Esiru also advance to the Semifinal with a 3-1 victory over Maĉia, while the thriller of the day, a six-goal affair that was tied after 120 minutes, ends in penalty triumph for Cæa ĝe Naĝu.

Isula Esiru has fallen, and with the late goal they conceded, have given Maria CF the chance to hoist, at the end of the next ninety minutes they play, not only the Mist Cup, but also the silver sphere of the National Double, awarded to any team who wins the National Championship and the Mist Cup in a single season. Olympi continue a remarkable run, as they handle Cæa ĝe Naĝu 3-1 to advance to the final, where they will challenge, for the third time this season, a very good Maria CF side.

With the thriller of the season, in a game fraught with strategy and action, and a fitting finale that exemplified everything this league was to represent, Olympi carry out their first triumph, with two hard-earned, hard-fought goals to Maria's 1. They claim the Mist Cup, and deny Maria the double.

United Hoofball Association Changes Continue after Debacle

CANTERLOT - To say that last season did not go as planned for the United League would be the understatement of the century.

After the Equestrian States successfully hosted the first ever World Cup to be held on Pony Lands soil, many hoofball fans eagerly awaited the coming domestic season, where a number of talented signings by clubs in both the Equestrian States and the Crystal Empire were expected to make their United League debuts. However, just weeks after the Final was played in Cassadaigua, it became abundantly clear that something was very wrong within the Hoofball Association (HA) of the Equestrian States.

To those who have been living under a rock for the last couple years, an explanation may be needed. The United Hoofball Association was formed by an agreement between the HA and the Imperial Hoofball Association of the Crystal Empire (IHACE) to combine the two nations' domestic leagues into a larger single system at the top four tiers. Thanks to the Equestrians boasting a larger population, longer sports history, and considerably more top-level talent than their southern counterparts, their HA was given considerable control over the day-to-day operations of the United Hoofball Association. The HA itself is a descendant of the defunct National Equestrian Sports Council (NESC), which was run almost entirely by representatives of the Equestrian government and controlled virtually every professional sports league in the country for a long time until it was revealed to be corrupt. In the aftermath of the scandal which brought the NESC to its metaphorical knees, its responsibilities were divided among numerous splinter organizations, including the ceding of control over the Equestrian national hoofball team and the existing league system to the HA. Until just recently, the government still played a significant role in funding and running the HA, and in turn the United Hoofball Association. That is where we resume our tale...

The Hoofball Association had spent much of its budget for the year on the preparation for the World Cup and preparing the Equestrian States' cities to host an event that would stamp the Equestrians at the forefront of the multiverse. But thanks to the spending of the HA, in addition to the organizing committee's designated funds, the governing body of Equestrian hoofball found themselves in desperate need of a tidy profit from the World Cup. And while the tournament did bring a profit to the nation's coffers, private businesses and corporations found themselves with the majority of the money. Taxes helped shrink the deficit faced by the HA, but it was far from being enough to eliminate the debt the government now faced. Refusing to raise taxes on the common pony to pay for the HA's errors, the Equestrian parliament declined the pleas for a government-sanctioned loan. The HA continued its fight, reaching out to businesses with sponsorship opportunities and the like, but it was simply not enough. The HA was in debt and lacked the funds needed to operate the United League without going deep into debt. Similarly, the IHACE faced similar problems with funding as the Crystal Empire's national team had failed to live up to the expectation of reaching the Cup of Harmony and lost on sponsorship deals it had arranged under the assumption of qualification to the secondary competition. In short, the United Hoofball Association was on the verge of a total financial collapse.

While the economic situation grew worse and worse for the UHA, things weren't going too well on the United League side either. Without the funding from the two hoofball associations, the league was unable to go forward as scheduled and its first match was pushed further and further back. Still, the fans and clubs held out hope that the financial situation would improve and the United League would be able to go forward, albeit likely with a shortened season. Weeks passed; then months, and there was no sign of relief in sight. Then, when the leagues would normally be entering the mid-season, the UHA finally gave up: the third season would have to be cancelled. The owners of the clubs and others heavily-invested in the United League were furious, and demanded reform in the chain of command, leading the chairman of the executive board to concede to the owners' demands. In the press conference announcing the changes, the chairman stated that "further commercialization of the United Hoofball League would be vital to the survival of the League."

Throughout the crisis there were frequent rumors that the historic agreement between the Equestrian States and the Crystal Empire was going to collapse at any moment as the two hoofball associations would be forced to fend for themselves just two years after beginning their partnership. The initial reaction to the league reforms was mixed, as the higher league clubs' supporters praised the continuation of competition and cooperation between the best of both nations. Clubs below the fourth tier were considerably less delighted initially, at first only being glad that the next season would see them resume business as usual. However, since then many lower league clubs have seized advantage of the reduced government controls over commercializing to sign lucrative sponsorship deals, improving their public visibility. Of course, the profits of the traditional power clubs have far exceeded those of the lower league sides, and some fear that this lack of parity may lead to a lack of competition in the future, though others dismiss such arguments as paranoid.

But the most important reactions have come not from the owners, supporters, sponsors, or league officials, but from the players for the clubs. During the darkest days of the crisis, some expected a mass exodus of talent from the United League, yet relatively few departed from their clubs at the mid-season transfer deadline. While many of the United League's internationals hold worries over the security of their places on their national teams, some remain confident that the numerous friendlies and training sessions held by individual clubs will mean they will be able to make a fairly quick return to peak form come the start of next season. The lack of any UICA competition last season meant that only a paltry number of foreign players have joined United League clubs during the offseason, while several Equestrian stars who were rumored to be interested in returning home have decided to remain overseas.

Next season will mark the dawn of a new era for the United Hoofball Association, with the HA and IHACE seeing their roles in running the United League reduced considerably from just two seasons ago. A wave of investment from businesses, organizations, and corporations has already eliminated much of the debt incurred from last season, but it will take at least another few seasons for the lost international prestige of the United League and its clubs to be restored to pre-crisis levels. However, one thing is certain: hoofball will never again be the same for the citizens of the Equestrian States and the Crystal Empire as the owners' seek profits and make changes to the existing structure to further their agendas.

Season 20,055 Preview

Welcome to the year of the islanders, be it from Capri or Vyinta, as the two islands of Valanora look to be in prime position to turn into a real powerhouse in Vanorian football, apart from their top clubs. Vyinta has a record four clubs in the top flight in this upcoming season, headlined of course by the United of the West in Ibini FC. Yet do not overlook AS Peravova, who has shown their fortitude in being able to survive the rigors of the Premiership season as well as having a Silver Cup trophy in their cabinet during the old reign of the V-league era. They are joined by the promoted Ursona FC and FC Espalya this season. Unfortunately, the latter two are prime candidates for the drop, unlike their promotion brothers in Raynor City FC, who had to qualify for the playoff. The capital club was able to strengthen their side with some proven Premiership veterans and look like they may survive the long, hard season.

Let's not beat around the bush though, the title race is what people are most fascinated about, and whether United can defend their title and even expand upon that title from last year and look to do the domestic double. The cups have been favorable to Raynor City United in the past, yet Hondo FC could claim the same, with their attacking trio always a danger in the one off games. They however will likely be trying to reclaim the title from the arch rivals, yet without having made any moves during the transfer window, although no club brought in foreigners this window, it is hard to think they will do so, with another second place finish likely in the works for the home club of Laborious Hawk.

Soldarian FC is not about to get comfortable though with finding their way back into the UICA, they are a club that is proud and rich with history. Yet can Wither have a repeat performance or will they suffer the "sophmore slump" with the Soldars falling outside the top five once more? The bookies have them penciled in at fourth behind United, Hondo, and Ibini, but I personally think they are more likely to fall back into midtable this season. The biggest question mark though will be if Juavi FC, fresh off their surprise run into fifth and the associated Globe Cup spot are able to use that money to sustain their place. They have always been something of a threat, yet the seasons when they are lacking, they find themselves in a relegation fight. One of those clubs who seem to take an all or nothing approach, yet if it is sustained success the fans want, maybe a bit more temperance and better buys in the window will be the key. Look for that if they manage to get UICA money once again this season.

And every fan of the old game and history will be pleased with Gladerial United having made the miracle come true last season and kept themselves in the top flight. While definitely in no way ready to think about moving up in the table positions, it is so good for the traditionalists to see this mighty club getting restored to at least a portion of their former glory. While RCU may now be the top dogs and hold the most titles, Gladerial is that history, and makes the league better by being in it. It will be another tough forty two matches for the side, yet with The White Fortress living up to its name in home affairs, they could do it again and find themselves surviving and building towards a new and better future.

Season 20,055

Well, that was a bit climatic, but at the end of the day, it was the same results as last season with RCU taking the league title and Hondo taking the Cup, topping RCU and preventing them the coveted domestic double. As expected, half of the Vyinta clubs found the drop, though Ursona like has their deep run in the Silver Cup to thank for their own demise, making it to the Quarterfinals was certainly more than the little club could handle. With a squad that really did not have any depth to their lineup outside the starting eleven, they were bound to falter in the late stages with those added fixtures, not gaining a single point in the last six matches, sending them from safety to the bottom of the table and leaving them quite disappointed.

Vyintanese should not be disappointed though, with Samarga winning the promotion playoff from the Star League and keeping the clubs from the island from dropping back to just two. Also very interesting, although farther down in the pyramid, is that the Ibininers have managed to win back to back promotions and are now going from semi-professional status to professionals. This is a big step for one of the clubs who were granted their position in the league following the last big reformation of the pyramid. It shall be quite interesting to see how Ibini will handle having two professional clubs within their city limits, as the island's population and importance continue to grow as does their influence in the footballing community in the commonwealth.

Ibini was able to keep up their own success, taking third behind RCU and the very surprising Mar Sara side who just about nicked the title from the giants. Unlike Ibini and Hondo who were expected to challenge RCU for the title, Mar Sara's resurgance up the table came out of the blue, and they get to have the vast rewards of the CC spot to console them in their loss of the title on goal difference. Juavi looks to be a rising challenger though, snagging away the last GC spot once more, finding the consistent success that the fans are looking for perhaps. Who knows what moves may be coming in the forthcoming transfer window now that the club will have some funds to play around with, though with Gladerial survive, it may be a bit of frenzy in the transfer market.

The entire five clubs making the venture into the UICA competitions will be looking to redeem Valanora after the entire international cycle was just poor, from the CC to the Cygnus Cup and even the AOCL. It was one of the most disappointing cycles for the Commonwealth and will hopefully put a fire into the sides as they head once more into the international arena. United are the biggest threat, obviously, as their international trio have now settled into the club with these two seasons and are all ready to prove they were well worth the millions that were paid for them and their yearly wages. Hondo and Ibini are both veterans of these games to, which will leave Juavi and Mar Sara to learn from their fellow Vanorians and venture deep into the UICA. Every club is expected to get to the Group stage of their respective competitions and should they do so, could make that run to the title like RCU did just one cycle before and restore Vanorian honor and glory in these very exciting and challenging times.

With another last day drama unfolding, Racing XInghua Baoyam claimed the championship for the first time in their history. The Los Osos Oeres won accolades in the Cantonese League and the Superliga 2012, but this win was the first time that the club won its first national title in a league competition.

Quintanilla's arrival caused a logjam between the sticks, but with backup keeper Mark Orlanes reaching 36 and the other backups certain to leave the club at the end of the season, Quintanilla will only have Darvy Trongcoso as its competition as the number one. With a relatively unchanged squad, Balompie squandered its opportunity to improve at every area besides the keeper spot.

Darmeni Premier League: Season XI Preview

Where to begin. Lets start with the Semi-Autonomous counties. There are six in Darmen, namely Berbari, Brham, Chuckio, Rigerata, South Darmen and Tilden. And beginning this season, they've got their own separate football leagues. And on top of that, the Government has begun to nationalize the football system, liquidating teams (like The Babies, seriously, who came up with that name?) that have sub-par financial records (Well yeah, how do you advertise for a team named, The Babies. "Come watch The Babies take on Team X tomorrow night" just doesn't sound good). All this of course means less teams in the Darmeni football system, and that means an increased chance to play in the Premier League. And do you know what that means? No? Well that makes two of us.

Prediction: With three teams going after the title for the second straight year, the atmosphere of football in Darmen City is stronger than ever. But none of the teams are looking to achieve anything higher than mid-table, and two of them will either be flirting with relegation or be engaged in a tough battle down the stretch to stay up. Darmen City United look the strongest side.

Prediction: Eau Claire Aris FC have dominated the Derby, and they look poised to do it again.

Prediction: Something that has never been seen before in Darmeni football is a four team Derby in the Premier League. Metro Police FC are the newcomers to the party, and surprisingly, they may not finish last. With the Beat looking like they'll be in for a hard time, the overall battle will come down to Scott City FC and University. History tells us that Scott City FC is the stronger side, so it's safe to say they'll pick up their eighth Derby title.

So, how does the season work?
The twenty teams in the Premier League will play home and away against each other for a total of 38 games spread over 46 matchdays. The Champions and Runners-up both qualify for the Champions' Cup. The Champions' will also play in the Copa de Campeones. Third and Fourth qualify directly for the Globe Cup, while Fifth will need to play a playoff against the winner of a Qualification Tournament held between the six champions of the County Leagues. The Winner of the Playoff heads to the Globe Cup, the loser to the Commonwealth Champions' League. Sixth through Eighth are guaranteed entry into the Commonwealth Champions' League. The Ninth place team is entitled to enter a bid to host the Champions' Cup final, while Tenth can do the same for the Globe Cup. Eighteenth through Twentieth are relegated to the League Championship.

The top three teams in the League Championship are promoted (there are no promotion/relegation playoffs until Amateur League Level Three, and even then only for promotion), and are also guaranteed entrance into the Series B Champions' Cup. Fourth will also head to the SBCC, while the Fifth place team can submit a bid to host the final.

The teams in the top four divisions play in the League Cup following the Regular Season, just after the Lower Tier playoffs and Reserve and Youth Cups are held. They are immediately followed by the City and County Cups, which serve as qualification for the Darmen Cup.

Season 1961

CAP reigns supreme once more, as it continues to be the workhorse of the Pasargan domestic system. It is a powerhouse that will not looked to be stopped anytime soon with the way they are able to recruit and cultivate talent young and old. Modeled after the great clubs from around the entire footballing world, it should be no wonder that CAP has become the supreme club in the dual islands and a budding international power. While it does not have a UICA title like Santos does, but it has the almost constant appeal of getting into the Champions Cup, something Santos can not claim. With the rise of CAP and the fall of stature of the capital clubs, CAP will be that beacon of Pasargan football for many decades to come.

Yet it was not easy for CAP, as Tani definitely gave them a run for their money, and even managed to win the cup with their high octane offense. While not favored to get to the group stage of the CC, they will be a hard out for whoever they come up against in the draw, with their high flying attack sure to put many managers in a bit of a fit. Only a defense that had a proneness to conceding late equalizers prevented them from being champs and is their Achilles heel as they head into the UICA competitions. All the same, the old Tani faithful will be happy to see their club back into the spotlight once more, even if they fell short of their ultimate goal, with another trophy to add to the cabinet making it worth the while.

The only big surprises are Lunas and Stilinkeep finding their way into the top five positions, making the Globe Cup look very precarious for the Pasargan delegation, with neither side exceptionally skilled with the totality of the competition and what it requires. It is not unfair to say that they will be everything unlike Tani and quite the easy out for whoever they are drawn against. A sad tale for the Pasargan force who was looking to improve its standing in the ranking coefficient, though with the expected results, it will be another cycle mired down deep in the rankings.

The sixth Vennskap Shield should have been an occasion for great celebration, as the two teams that finished one and two in Divisjon One and switched position to finish one and two in the Latitude Cup last season faced off against each other in the legendary venue of The Battleground, Raynor City. Instead however, proceedings were tinged with a hint of sadness as SK Franz Josef City arrived without their tragically departed Mytanar central attacking midfielder; Ismet van Huijgevoort. From the sizes of the purchases made in the off season, it may not be that big of a stretch to suggest that he was on his way out anyway, but no player expects to lose a team-mate in those circumstances during the off-season, and so it was a very poignant minute's silence, impeccably observed by all, that started the match.

Of those new signings, Latitude Cup holders SK Franz Josef City handed debuts to three of them; Osarian attacking midfielder Toby Drummond, club record signing Astograthian star Luan Dardan, and thanks to an injury to Artemiusz Korshanenko, Merlin Nordholm started in goal. Nordholm, who was impressive despite Viipuri's relgation last season, was initially bought as cover for Korshanenko, but this marked the perfect opportunity for him to get some game time behind his new defence. With Iriarte lining up with Delafrénière covering the back four and Konigstein running box-to-box, Dardan and Drummond were free to examine their new partnership behind established pair Pedrinho and Mitchell up front. Surtsey made comparatively few changes meanwhile, and aside from the presence of Niemanen in the starting line-up instead of departed captain Guus Olsen in the centre of the park, it was an almost unchanged eleven from that which lifted the title.

The opening passages of the game seemed to indicate that this more settled line-up compared to SK's was paying dividends for the Gulls, with all of the early possession falling their way as SK struggled to get into the game. In particular, the games of Drummond and Dardan were taking their time to dovetail together nicely, and so with the SK strikers starved of supply it was Surtsey who pushed forwards and tested Nordholm with a couple of searching shots. Churin and Kolehmainen have an established partnership now, with either of the two able to read the game and run into the gaps that they know their team-mate will leave for them, and this interchanging of runs and refusal to stick to one fixed position left the SK in disarray. Eventually, SK's lack of focus cost them, and it was Churin who snuck in at the near post to fire home the opening goal of the match with an almost apologetic smile at how easy it had been so far.

SK just weren't at the races up until that point, and although the goal did spring them into life, when the equaliser came it was still heavily against the run of play. Pedrinho's tricks and flicks proved too much for Joachim Elden to keep hold of, and when he upended the forward on the edge of the box it was Toby Drummond who stepped up to curl home a wicked free kick past Kirilaunen - signalling his intent for the coming season in the process.

The second half started with a bang when Luan Dardan dribbled his way straight from the kickoff into a shooting opportunity, only to see his shot cannon back off the crossbar and just evade the follow-up run from Luke Mitchell. The Astograthian attacking midfielder apparently having tired of seeing his international teammate Churin have all the fun in the first half, he then proceeded to give fans a tantalising display of what he'll be like in Griffons colours in the coming season once his match fitness it at it's peak. After withstanding that initial barrage, the Surtsey defence held firm however, and the game soon returned to the pattern it held in the first half - with Surtsey dominating possession and shots, and SK struggling to get a hold on the game.

Joachim Elden was replaced by Licentian defender Sam Hill on the hour mark after a clash of heads with New Montreal States midfielder Delafrénière left them both needing treatment; Iriarte apparently deciding not to risk anything and replacing Delafrénière with Sudesval seconds later. The game then picked up a little as each side tested their new line-up, though it was Surtsey who again would benefit from the shift in tactics when Jens Niemanen and Hans Elliot exchanged passes on the edge of the box. Wiig then arrived to clip the ball over the top for Churin who was left with a simple pull-back for Kolehmainen to sweep effortlessly home and restore the lead for Surtsey.

Former Sturm Nuuk striker Morten Macinko was something of a surprising acquisition for the Griffons in the off-season, but the benefit of having a third senior striker in the side suddenly became clear to fans when he was brought on in place on Konigstein shortly thereafter, with SK chasing the game and hammering down the long shots on Kirilaunen's goal. The stats at the end of the game would indicate this onslaught, but stats alone cannot convey the fact that the Surtsey defence was working to an extent whereby their opponents' shots, on target though they may have been, were from distances and positions such that they were easy takes for new Surtsey captain Kirilaunen to deal with.

Things would get worse for SK later on as well, when a counter-attack from Acquan right back Sergio Montemayor and Valladares midfielder Ivan Coupet, on in the second half for the youngster Niemanen, would result in a corner from the right, and second half substitute Sam Hill was there when Coupet's delivery came in to drive home a powerful header from the penalty spot. Kolehmainen was brought off in place of Einarsson, and Lucic was replaced by young Patrick Ernberger at the back for SK, but essentially nothing was to change the fact that for all of SK's attacking talent on display, things just weren't working for them just yet, and the game would finish three-one to the Gulls, and they lifted the shield at The Battleground with representatives of the local charities for whom the match had been raising money.

They may have exchanged two-one home wins during the last season, but it was SK who won the 'decider' of the Latitude Cup final at the end of the last campaign. Today, however, Surtsey struck back, and the burden now lies with SK to fix what went wrong for them today and get it right before the season starts if they want to win that title back. Out of sorts, on an off day, or in mourning? Whatever the answer to that question is, Iriarte will have to find the answer to find it if SK want to win back their title from these Norscelt upstarts. Surtsey, meanwhile, appear to have picked up exactly where they left off, and that is an ominous sign for their title rivals.

Once upon a time, a group of philanthropic (and rich) gentlemen of Arrendine decided that a good way to know the world would be by learning all languages existing in said world. Sadly, they eventually figured out that they would bleed too much money if they simply did that as a way to create something interesting for them to do. As a result, they opened Phonetica, a language course, a while after Northern Sunrise Islands became a proper Republic. Now, after 30 years, Phonetica has a rather nice language teaching empire... or at least enough to make a good profit from the Islands' ever-hungry population. Now, with the chance of becoming a sponsor for a tournament named Youth Cup, which just seems to make enough sense (Youth, Studies...), Phonetica wants to bid.

Darmeni Premier League: Season XI-First Half

Matchday One, and Derby Football was already underway, as Scott City FC defeated Metro Police FC, 1-0, on the road in Metro Police's first ever match in the Premier League. Menomonie United were the first team to score four goals in a game, and did so on Matchday Two against Darmen City AC. Augusta defeated Johnho FC on that same day, 2-1. Scott City University defeated the Beat 2-0 on Matchday Three, and Padomera pulled the upset at home against Menomonie United, 1-0. Scott City FC and Darmen City United played out a scoreless draw, and so after three matchdays, Scott City University and the Sterling City Stars lead the League.

Scott City FC defeated the Stars, 4-0, on Matchday Four, gaining sole possession of first place. Aris FC defeated the Strykers 4-1 on the same day, while Augusta also picked up a 2-0 victory, against Eau Claire United. Metro Police FC picked up a massive victory over Johnho FC, 1-0, on Matchday Five. In the first match of the Darmen City Derby, AC defeated FC, 2-0. Scott City FC defeated the Strykers, 3-2. Matchday Six saw Scott City FC defeat the lowly Whitecaps, 4-0, while the Brady City Crunch struggled against Darmen City AC and came away with only a point following a scoreless draw. Aris FC came away with a massive victory over Scott City University, scoring six goals and allowing none. After six matchdays, Scott City FC leads the league, a single point clear of Eau Claire Airs FC and Padomera.

Scott City FC came away with a Derby victory on Matchday Seven against University, as Tor Tong Lee scored the only goal. Padomera defeated the Crunch, 2-1, while Menomonie United scored six against Darmen City FC. Matchday Eight saw two teams gain their first points of the season, as Forden defeated Darmen City FC, 2-1, and Bloomer FC defeated Metro Police FC by two goals. Menomonie United defeated the Crunch, 3-2, while Aris FC and Padomera each scored a single goal in their draw against each other. Eau Claire United defeated Guard FC, 1-0. Guard FC had yet to gain any points in the League table after eight matchdays. They would do so on Matchday Nine, defeating Bloomer FC, 5-1. Also on Matchday Nine, Darmen City United defeated Eau Claire United, 2-1, while Augusta defeated the Stars, 3-0. Meanwhile, the Strykers drew with Johnho FC, 2-2, and Padomera drew with Scott City FC, 1-1. Menomonie United defeated Aris FC, 2-1, and after nine matchdays, Scott City FC lead the league, two points ahead of Augusta.

Matchday Ten included three massive wins, as the Crunch prevailed over the Beat, 4-0, Aris FC defeated Forden, 6-0, and Johnho FC scored five against the Whitecaps. Menomonie United defeated Scott City FC 1-0, and with Augusta's hard fought 1-0 victory over the Strykers, Augusta took over first place. Matchday Eleven was rather uneventful, while Derby football resumed on Matchday Twelve, as Scott City FC scored a 1-0 victory over the Beat. And with the conclusion of Matchday Twelve, Augusta still leads the league, one point clear of Scott City FC.

Only two matches of note took pace on Matchday Thirteen, one between Scott City FC and Darmen City FC, and the other between Aris FC and the Crunch. In the first match, both sides were unable to find the back of the net, and the match ended in a scoreless draw, which most fans in Darmen City were happy with. In the second match, Aris FC came away with a 2-1 victory. Matchday Fourteen saw the Crunch lose their second straight match, this time to Scott City FC by a single goal. Johnho FC defeated Menomonie United, 2-1, while Augusta won against Padomera by the score of 3-0. Matchday Fifteen had three massive matches. The first was a Scott City Derby match between University and Metro Police, which University won, 1-0. In the other two matches, Augusta emerged victors against Menomonie United, 2-0, while Scott City FC drew with Aris FC, 1-1. Augusta remained atop the league after Matchday Fifteen, and was now five points clear of second place Scott City FC.

Only eight matchdays away from the half way point of the season, the Sterling City Stars upset the Strykers, 4-1, while Menomonie United defeated Eau Claire United, 3-0. On Matchday Seventeen, Metro Police FC pulled off an upset over Padomera, winning 2-1. Through fourteen matches, Augusta had a perfect record of 14-0-0, but that streak came to a halt against the Scott City Beat, as the two teams finished their match tied at 1-1. On Matchday Eighteen, Eau Claire United defeated the Beat, 6-0, returning the struggling Scott City side to their rightful place. Darmen City United defeated Darmen City AC in a Darmen City Derby match, 4-0. After eighteen days of football, Augusta were now eleven points clear of second place, which was now held by Johnho FC.

In a battle between two mid table sides on Matchday Nineteen, Scott City University defeated the Strykers by one goal. Guard FC pulled off a stunning draw with Menomonie United, equalizing at 1-1, in the third minute of added time. Johnho FC defeated Aris, 2-1. Scott City FC defeated Johnho FC, 2-0 on Matchday Twenty. Meanwhile, no one seems to be able to stop Augusta, as they defeated Aris FC, 3-0. Metro Police defeated the beat, 4-0, in their first Derby match against each other. In the first meeting between the two on Matchday Twenty-one, Scott City FC destroyed Augusta, 4-1, as Tor Tong Lee scored his first hat trick of the season. Aris FC defeated United, 3-2, in the first leg of the Eau Claire Derby. With two days left before the halfway mark of the season, Augusta is still well clear of second place Scott City FC, twelve points in the lead.

Scott City FC defeated Eau Claire United, 1-0 on Matchday Twenty-two, in the only notable match of the day. And on the final matchday of the first half, Scott City FC defeated Bloomer FC, 2-0, moving to within six points of the league leaders. And in the final derby match of the first half, Darmen City FC lost to Darmen City United, 3-1.

Coming off one of the best CEdC matches in history, Stadii Ximena is known as one of the premier stadiums in all of Esportiva. Known to locals as Frozen Hell, the high gusts arriving from the oceanside make the Stadii Ximena, named after the famed leader who led Yttribia to glory and prosperity a millennium ago, a total nightmare to visiting teams playing against football club Telino, and less of a nightmare to fellow Telinian club, Ximena SC. However, during the warmer months of the year, Stadii Ximena becomes one of the most beautiful places to play in, after a recent poll by players, fans, and coaches, for the second season in a row. Located just outside of Telino city limits, the stadium has various ways to arrive, via the National Interstate, or the Yttribian Express, the national railroad carrier, or even through the Telino BajoTierras, as the penultimate stop before arriving to the airport. Despite it's location, it makes up for this by having wireless internet connections throughout the entire stadium, various local shacks that can only be found in Telino and inside the stadium, and various pubs inside as well. The stadium has two JumboTrons on home and away sides, and a hospitable experience there.
