The problem with that is retrieval. We'd lose the plane every time it was launched. The OS2U at least has floats so it can be picked back up.

Ship manifest read OS2U unfortunately, fortunately though we can decide which because Tigger failed to tac a variant no. onto the end of the craft's name, and I'd just love me an experimental observation craft... :3

Or, you know, you could ask me instead of just declaring yourself the arbiter of interpreting my posts after my apparent "failure" to make them clear enough for you.
Seriously, that's more than a little bit rude to just assume.

Dammit. I are disappoint. :(

Nobody picked it as their first choice, but pretty much everybody voted for it.
I'm happy with it.

That's the one! I knew it reminded me of a famous author, but I couldn't for the life of me pin down who.

Awww, you guys flatter me.
Does anybody want me to post the shark's app now, rather than later (not that he'll ever appear again, of course)?

I should have made this more clear - I already am decided on a name, it's just that if I put it up now, it would give away a lot, so I'm waiting until the briefing to change the name.

I didn't put that very well. Let me explain:
It got more votes than any other name. The placements of votes (IE first choice, second choice) didn't actually matter in the voting, it was just numbers. But I got the feeling (since it generally came at the tail end of vote selection) that it wasn't many peoples' first choice.

Age: Unknown. Sharks don't have much of a visible aging process. Judging from size, clearly an adult.
Rank: Shark-at-Fins, Actual Sea Lord
Physical Description/Picture:

Country of Origin: His egg was fertilized anonymously somewhere off of Portuguese Mozambique.
Flight/Flight Combat Experience (MANDATORY): Occasionally jumps out of the water into the air to pursue a seal.
Ground Combat Experience: None whatsoever. He'd die out there, man!
Specialties (air or ground - communications, demolitions, disguises, languages, etc.): He's really good at eating, breeding, and swimming, in no particular order.
Weapons of Choice: Hundreds and hundreds of massive, unbelievably sharp teeth.
RP Experience: RP THIS!
*grabs groin*
Personal History/Bio (more than one line please):
Horatio's past is shrouded in mystery - even his name is but a mere guess by (perhaps over-whimsical) marine biologists. This may be because of all of his secret shark adventures, but it's more likely due to the fact that there really isn't that much that distinguishes the history of one shark from another.

Tiger posted it at... 1338hrs, at which time I was in a dressing room telling a 12 year old to 'shut up and get the pirate costume on because we're on stage soon'. By ~1600 I was back home after the play and comfortably unpacked, by 1700hrs I'd showered, had a drink, sat down and read a bit (NS posting intermittent in this time), then from 1900hrs to 2300hrs was at an after-party, then from then until 1100hrs was asleep.

MISCELLANEOUS NOTES:

- ACTING PILOT OFFICER PARKER-WHITE has dual citizenship, owing to the fact that he was born to a British father and an Australian mother.
It is noted by the Air Ministry that PARKER-WHITE was born in Australia and spent most of his childhood in the aforementioned country.
However, the PARKER-WHITE family emigrated to London in 1926 and ACTING P/O PARKER-WHITE has spent the last decade in this
country. Owing to this, it has been adjudged by the selection panel that PARKER-WHITE is eligible for service in the ROYAL AIR FORCE.

- Instructors at NO. 6 FLYING TRAINING SCHOOL note that ACTING PILOT OFFICER PARKER-WHITE is, at best, an average pilot with little to no natural
disposition for commanding an aircraft. This is illustrated by the fact that ACTING P/O PARKER-WHITE, whilst he has graduated to operational flying, as
done so as second bottom in his class.

- the port side of F/O PARKER-WHITE'S aircraft named "Bad Penny". F/O PARKER-WHITE claims that this is because a bad penny always comes back.

- F/O PARKER-WHITE has exhibited an unusual fondness towards standard issue Dexadrine pills and is noted to utilise them throughout the course of an
operation. He also uses them whilst non-operational. It is also noted that he is a regular drinker and smokes heavily.

- It has been noted that FLT. LT. PARKER-WHITE carries a piece of German shrapnel that he recovered from the armour plate behind the pilot's station on a
NO. 106 SQUADRON Avro LANCASTER. He regards this item as lucky and has been heard to say that if the item were to go missing, he too would go missing
that night.

- FLT. LT. PARKER-WHITE has been married to a SECTION OFFICER MEREDITH BOND, attached to Bomber Command Headquarters.
(For the attention of Air Force pension department - Air Ministry entry, logged - September 19th 1943)

- At the time of his posting to NO. 319 SQUADRON, SQN. LDR. PARKER-WHITE is credited with 97 completed operations over occupied territory. More than 75
of these operations have been carried out over Germany. It is also noted that in his short time commanding NO. 634 SQUADRON, SQN. LDR. PARKER-WHITE
carried out at least a dozen uncredited operations, acting as an 8th crew member for new pilots on their first operation. The purpose of this, he says,
was to give new crews confidence.

- SQN. LDR. PARKER-WHITE has proved himself to an able sportsman and a particularly good cricketer. Prior to the outbreak of war, he represented the
Air Force on two occasions and, since the outbreak of war, has become a mainstay of the NO. 5 GROUP XI.

- AIR CHIEF MARSHALL HARRIS has personally requested SQN. LDR. PARKER-WHITE's transfer to NO. 319 SQUADRON, Fighter Command. PARKER-WHITE
has taken a willing demotion to FLIGHT LIEUTENANT to facilitate this.

SUPPLEMENT TO THE LONDON GAZETTE XTH X 1943/1944

HIS MAJESTY THE KING has been pleased to award the Victoria Cross to the undermentioned Officer,

Squadron Leader Kenneth Parker-White, No. 634 Squadron

For the most conspicuous bravery on the night of the x/xth x 1943/1944, during operations against Berlin.

He was in command of sixteen Lancaster aircraft of Number 634 Squadron, No. 5 Group, Bomber Command. Shortly after crossing the Dutch coast, at approximately 9 P.M., his Lancaster was simultaneously attacked by three enemy aircraft, the first of which managed to approach undetected and rake the Lancaster from stem to stern. Squadron Leader Parker-White reacted with great coolness in the face of vicious enemy action and managed to throw off his attackers with violent manoeuvre and the fortunate proximity of cloud. During this combat, however, two members of the crew were killed and Squadron Leader Parker-White was moderately wounded. The aircraft was left without communication, oxygen or navigation and had lost the use of the port inner engine. Despite this grievous situation, Squadron Leader Parker-White would not be turned from his objective - Berlin - and without thought to his own well being, pressed on regardless.

Having memorised the route to the target, Parker-White was able to bring his aircraft over the target approximately 50 minutes after his engagement with the enemy. Bombing photographs would later show that Parker-White's bomb aimer was able to drop his bombs at the very centre of the target area. Navigating by the stars only, Parker-White was able to guide his crippled aircraft home, despite being weakened by lack of oxygen and blood loss. Upon crossing an unknown coast line, the aircraft was once again attacked, this time by anti-aircraft fire, which knocked out the port outer engine. Undaunted, and with only two engines operational, Squadron Leader Parker-White then managed to cross the North Sea and crash land his aircraft at RAF Bywater, Lincolnshire. As a result of Squadron Leader Parker-White's courage and piloting skill, five of the seven man crew survived the night's combat, though all but one were wounded. The mid-upper gunner and navigator were unfortunately killed in action.

The gallantry and determination displayed by Squadron Leader Parker-White is far above that expected of even a British Officer. An example has been set which will rarely be equalled or surpassed.

The above is a dossier for future character, because I've nothing better to do. Proper application will be made as and when it's appropriate to do so. Fleshing out of details (one major one in particular) will take place as I can be bothered to do it.

So I've just watched that Lone Survivor movie. Not going to lie, a lot of people react very well to getting shot in that movie. Thought it kinda sucked, to be honest.

I'll try and get a post up tomorrow.
When the war is over
Got to start again
Try to hold a trace of what it was back then
You and I we sent each other stories
Just a page I'm lost in all its glory
How can I go home and not get blown away
