Would be interesting to see reapplied as a modern Armed troop transport to say the least.http://www.leonardodavincisinventions.com/war-machines/leonardo-da-vincis-tank/

That thing would newer be able to fit the engine. At least not without growing to the size of a house. Locomotive diesels are like that. And the electric transmission ain't small or light either. Not to mention the hull mounted 63mm. And the rims would keep catching on shell holes. We'd be laughed off the battlefield by the tommies.

That sounds more or less like what I was imagining actually. Allow me to explain in more detail.
Basically the department is restricted to converting existing vehicles as no budget can be spared for a brand new design. So I have to use the existing tank that's in the works. The bloody thing is a big metal box, roughly 9x3x2.5m. It is protected by 10-20mm steel plate across all sides which makes it immune to anything the enemy can reasonably throw at them. The tank is powered by a locomotive engine with an electric transmission which turns a set of rhomboidal tracks. In terms of weapons it has a pair of sponsons on either side fitting either 37mm guns or 20mm machine guns and a front mounted 63mm gun to blast away bunkers and machine gun nests. Now I figured I could get away with just piling infantry around inside a female and call it a day. But now I am beginning to think it might be best if I removed the front gun altogether and just added a machine gun or two for the passengers to use whilst riding.
Actually come to think off it I might just put some blinds on the front so that the passengers can open up with their rifles as the vehicle advances.

You should be able to remove the gun assuming this vehicle has support from other tanks, not to mention that you could probably add room for four more soldiers without the gun, ammo and the need for a loader or gunner since it would just have MG mounts, Efficient for only needing two crew.

More like 5 actually. I'd keep the sponsons, so that's two men there. And I'd still have to have a commander, driver and a mechanic to actually keep the thing running.

Made in 1987, it is well liked by its crews for its sloped armor, added with the ‘Hans’ model, and it’s fighting capacity. Two Tigers could hold their own against both a T-90A and a M1 Abrams at the same time, and could fight them to a standstill. Around 7,889 Tiger I’s have been made only for the Loyalist Forces of Yytuskia.
Cost: $989,000USD per unit

As you can tell, this is not the IX, as the Board decided to scrap it. This is Yytuskia's MBT.
