Season 20,054

Prepare yourselves Valanora for the invasion of the Vyintanese, as two of them won promotion from the Star League and into the Premiership, bringing the total number of clubs in the top flight from the island to four. Joining Ibini FC and AS Peravova in the topflight are Ursona FC and FC Espalya as they finished first and second in the Star League. It is truly a great time for all those on the island, as Ibini FC has brought great success to the island and the establishment of ISC Ibini in the new found NSPL has brought great promise and hope as well towards the denizens of the former colony.

Turning our eyes towards the top flight now, RCU did indeed recapture the title, but only by the slimmest of margins as the top six of the league were all on their heels heading into the final two matches of the season. Soldarian will no doubt be happy with their bringing in of Wither as they finished third and ensured their return to the UICA competitions, with the holographic device doing exactly as the staff had hoped. The side turned in a mighty campaign and were oh so close to making it into the Champions Cup, but draws in the last two matchdays saw them go from one point off the top of the table to third in it. All the same, it was a nice change of fortune for the second fiddle in the capital to RCU and could be a sign of things to come, especially if they do well in the upcoming Globe Cup.

Joining them there is Ibini FC, who were relegated to that spot thanks to losing to RCU by a heavy 0-4 scorline in Ibini on the last matchday and losing in Char Sara the match before, allowing Hondo FC to sneak into the Champions Cup spot. It will no doubt feel like vindication for the Owls after missing out on the luxury of the CC last season due to Ibini's success. There is hope that things continue to move up on the upswing for the Vanorian domestic league and they will once again have at least three spots in the CC or perhaps even back up to four to prevent such changes of fortune for the elite clubs of the nation. Yet that requires doing well in the UICA competitions, which the Owls have not done, being one of the few Vanorian sides to have entered one and not won it. In fact they have several runners up trophies and that no doubt will be the extra motivation they need going into the CC preliminary rounds to get into the group stage and beyond. It will be the redemption of their poor Globe Cup run last season if that turns out to be the case. Although not much is expected from Juavi who is also into the secondary competition as they somehow found themselves in the top five after many picking them for a relegation dogfight before the season.

Gladerial had an interesting season, finishing in the lower midtable at fifteenth position at the end of the day. It is not the best of finishes, especially if you consider their history of being champions and the great beacon of Valanora. All the same, it is a survival when they very well could have continued their recent history of being promoted and then relegated right back down again. I expect that their owner will open up the checkbook during the summer as a result and bring in as much talent that is willing to the historic side and try to bring them back up to their old standards. However it definitely will be a challenge and I do not think that they would get back into the UICA right away, but stranger things have indeed happen in this funny ol game.

As expected by all, poor SC Ianisle just was not cut out for the top flight and finished with a meager twenty-six points from their forty-two matches, which is believed to be a record low. They will find life back in the Star League far more to their standards and no doubt their bottom line will be thankful for this season in the top flight with the television money and then the parachute payment. Turmondale FC finally succumed to the pressures of the top tier, many seasons past their reckoning some would argue, while AS Sharala will feel hard done by that they could not turn one of their draws into a win to have the points required to stay alive, much to the pleasure of Straightdale FC who gets to stay afloat because of it.

In the Silver Cup, RCU had a very unexpected elimination in the fourth round to RC Elunita, which paved the way for Hondo to claim another title in the competition. As a result, both clubs will be heading off to the Cygnus Cup after RCU's victory in the competition during last season. Also interesting to note was the VFA's decision to send representatives once more into the SBCC, a move which was highly unexpected after several decades of ignoring the competition. It should provide a fair amount of experience and intrigue for those clubs moving up into the top side next season, as they get a dose of high level football to prep them for the upcoming season.

Tropical Trophy

The Tropical Trophy is a seasonal competition between the Vilitan Stellar Division Champions and Vilitan Cup Champions. There has been some controversy as to whether it is a "Season Ending" event or a "Season beginning" event, though it has tended to be closer to the start of the new season, then the end of the previous one.

Jungle Strike FC - v. - Turoki United

Tivali Ring Stadium, Alikki-Corra, Vilita

For this seasons Tropical Trophy, The V-League Stellar Division Champions (Jungle Strike FC) were invited to face off against the defending Vilitan Cup Champions (Turoki United). Jungle Strike FC were making their all-time leading 25th appearance in the Tropical Trophy including their 6th in a row. For Turoki United it would be their second appearance in the Tropical Trophy. In their first Tropical Trophy appearance, Turoki United were downed by Strike 3-2 in Extra time after Riksa Valjariia scored a stoppage time goal for Strike to send the match into extra time before netting the winner just minutes later.

Vilitan/Turorian Dual National referee Nuliko Meteorik officiated the Tropical Trophy for the fifth consecutive season.

:: The Kickoff

It had been five seasons since Turoki United were last in the Tropical Trophy but the fans and players alike remembered the game as if it were just one week prior. With a virtually unchanged squad of amateur local players from Turoki and one Turorian National Team goalkeeper, Turoki United clearly had their hearts set on making amends from their first Tropical Trophy appearance and handing Strike the defeat they were just seconds away from getting the last time the two teams squared off in the competition.

Ever the leader, amateur player Rockii Gukisi led the charge for Turoki United and found Zeki Selolwii for the games first good scoring opportunity, but it was a wasted effort as Selolwii blasted over the bar and the scores stayed level.

Turoki continued with the pressure and forced Kajaxo Imaslavii into a diving save 15 minutes into the game that resulted in the first corner kick of the match. Andii Vlachoriia took the corner kick and it was the towering Rockii Gukisi who met the ball with his head but the aim was slightly off, the ball cracking off the cross bar and bouncing back into play clear over the heads of the players in the penalty box and out towards the wing where Yves Gadois was waiting to collect the ball. Gukisi had to race back to defend but did well and cleared at for a throw to avoid the danger.

Strike got a corner of their own 6 minutes later that was delivered by Azestella Ajhabekk and this time it was a Strike player who got to the ball first, Friekder Dandalleion heading the ball off the back of Zeki Selolwii. The Amateur midfielder crouched to the ground in pain but would eventually tough it out and continue to play their part in the game.

The Venom held the majority of the possession but Turoki United withstood the pressure and held on to the half time interval with the match still scoreless.

:: The Second Half

The second half picked up right where the first had left off, with Strike FC earning a quick corner kick. The corner was cleared but Strike continued to attack, Viji-mara Lawaai dishing the ball out to Enluta Makakio who fired a quick effort that was palmed away by Atla-Siioai for another corner. This time, as Turoki United cleared they were able to maintain possession and set up the counter attack. Dwaye Raearongo found space to wind up for a shot but under the pressure, Raearongo put the ball into the stands.

As the match hit the hour mark the fans were clearly starting to get restless. Both sets of fans seemed to be anxiously awaiting the games first goal - no matter which team would score it. A goal for the team they support would mean jubilation and times of joy. A goal for the opposition would mean renewed vigor and interest as their team tried to find a way back into the match.

No fan was a fan of a goalless match where both teams seem more content not to lose the game then to try and win it and with 30 minutes to play, this Tropical Trophy appeared to be heading in that direction.

Strike's Kajaxo Imaslavii delivered a goal kick in the 61st minute that found Friekder Dandalleion who turned up field and looked to make a play. The farf attacker spotted Yves Gadois sprinting down the left hand side and dished the ball off to his international rival who immediately dished the ball right back to Dandalleion who then delivered the ball forward to Viji-mara Lawaai catching the Turoki United amateurs completely wrong footed. As Lawaai turned to collect the ball an errant foot from Rockii Gukisi had caught the Vilitan International and the game had its first real moment of controversy. Referee Nuliko Meteorik opened the book for the first time and gave Gukisi a yellow card, much to the dismay of the Vilitan supporters but certainly to the relief of Turoki United head coach Bansoa who likely feared what would happen if he was to be without one of his team leaders for the duration of the match.

The infraction had taken place just on the edge of the box and Lawaai propped himself back up quickly, eager to line up the kick and take a shot and Mumau Atla-Siioai's goal. Instead of going straight for goal however, the Venom continued trying to play fancy and Lawaai tapped the ball 8 yards to his right where Yves Gadois stood in a manufactured 1-2 play and Lawaai was nearly free on goal before an outstanding tackle from the substitue defender Nimk Wanazi.

Turoki United got back on the attack 20 minutes from time as Andii Vlachoriia forced Kajaxo Imaslavii into a low save but the two-time World Cup champion was not going to cough up a rebound and the danger for the Venom was over almost as quickly as it had started.

Although he had bounced back up from the earlier challenge, Viji-mara Lawaai eventually started to feel the effects of the foul and finally came off about 12 minutes from time, immediately taking a seat on the bench and getting ice treatment.

Whether or not the forced substitute changed the game plan for the Venom or simply inspired Turoki United to take advantage of the situation, the Amateurs went back on the attack and this time it was the defender Enri Pinero who had stormed forward for a hard shot that deflected off of Azestella Ajhabekk and out for another Turoki United corner kick. Strike Viliaka Morasita collected the corner kick and belted it up field to clear the danger, also serving to kill clock. Despite the late attacks by Turoki United, their fans were getting upset at the lack of goals fearing that the longer they went without scoring, the more likely Strike would be to secure the match winner.

The balance had seemed to swing over to the Turoki side however, and another attack only came to an end when Andii Vlachoriia's shot skimmed the top of the cross bar before going out of play. As the match entered stoppage time still without a goal, the teams had one final chance to make a push for the winner. Turoki United decided they wanted the chance and won possession of the ball from the goal kick to set up the final attack of regular time. However, the final pass into the area never got through and the Venom cleared the ball up field as Meteorik blew for the end of normal time.

:: Extra Time

Extra time started with a bang as the ever forward rushing Enri Pinero flashed an effort across goal that couldn't have missed by more than a foot to the outside of the far post, leaving breathless thousands of Turoki United supporters who thought the ball was going in.

After a long spell without a serious attempt on goal, Riksa Valjariia responded with some excitement of his own for the Venom, reigniting the fans with a spinning move before flicking the ball towards goal. Mumau Atla-Siioai got a hand to the bar and pushed it onto the upright where the ball bounced back into the masses in front of the goal before being cleared by Turoki United defender Piji Pontidas.

Enri Pinero's brother Shelki who came on at the end of normal time became the second Turoki United player to enter the book after a foul just minutes before the extra-time interval, offering up another free kick opportunity in a good position for the Jungle Cats. This time it was Enluta Makakio who stood over the ball and delivered a kick in towards Yves Gadois. However, Tarkan Dehon beat Gadois to the ball and the last attack of the first half of extra time was quelched.

With just 15 minutes to play before a penalty shootout, Strike FC came out firing and Enluta Makakio forced Mumai Atla-Siioai into and early save. The Turorian goalkeeper was able to keep the ball from going out of play, deflecting it towards the corner where the Turoki United defense was able to collect and control the ball before moving up field. The game continued as a true back-and-forth affair in the midfield as the fans anxiously awaited a goalscoring opportunity.

With 5 minutes to play, fans of Turoki United perked up in their seats as Strike's Azestella Ajhabekk fouled Tarkan Dehon and earned himself a place in the referee's book with a Yellow Card, conceding a free kick to Turoki United in a dangerous position. Unfortunately for the Amateurs, however, like many goalscoring opportunities before, the chance was easily collected by Kajaxo Imaslavii and the match continued with an unblemished scoreline.

At this point, the managers certainly were thinking about which players needed to be on the field in the case of the increasingly imminent Penalty Shootout. Turoki United earned one final corner kick but as the chance was wasted, Meteorik again blew his whistle and two hours of play had resulted in absolutely nothing in the goalscoring department for either side.

It was time for the penalty shootout.

Strike FC won the toss and opted to kick first, looking to set the tone and break the deadlock. The venom sent Farfadillis attacker Friekder Dandaellion to the spot and the Farf delivered - finally giving the fans something to cheer about and giving Strike the early advantage. Having survived the 120 minutes, Rockii Gukisi stepped up for Turoki United and calmly levelled the scoreline. Riksa Valjariia and Nimk Wanazi converted as both teams were 2 for 2 entering the third round of spot-kicks.

After Yves Gadois converted for the Venom, the pressure was on as the players began to realize that if they missed that could be the match. It would be all the worse for Turoki United's Piji Pontidas who pulled his shot wide to the left - especially as he had sent Kajaxo Imaslavii the wrong way on the run up, opening the door for the Venom to take hold of the shootout. When Strike converted to take a 4-2 lead, attacker Jinni Brali who had been quiet for much of the match needed to score in order to keep his team in the match. This time, however, Kajaxo Imaslavii was not fooled and the match was over, Imaslavii having saved Brali's weak penalty kick to give Strike FC their 15th Tropical Trophy victory and double the misery for Turoki United who once again lost in heart breaking circumstances to the Venom.

La Gran Avenida is a stadium located in the middle of a forest, and it's home to many 'Avenida's, teams with Avenida somewhere in their names. Avenida Principal, La Nueva Avenida, Avenida Victoria, Avenida De La Cruz, Avenida Azulada; the list goes on and on. The stadium itself is very good in terms of infrastructure, and the number of Farves that cause problems has been minimized by a rather brutal attempt from the Federal Council. Aiming for the Champions' Cup seems reasonable.

Basically, everyone won until they didn't, and it took a nice long while before then! Atteregav Numa got a rematch with their new friends, Excelsior Slogda; they're beginning to bond over a shared appreciation of goalkeeping, and just as importantly a shared appreciation of being in the middle of, like, nowhere. Buzhrumpus delighted fans starved for quality football in Devsgrype with their SBCC run; Brandith's youth team was just as successful, but somewhat less delightful to everyone, all told. If this is how their kids play now, what are they going to be when they grow up and learn to cheat? It's a little scary.

One way or the other, though, while it might be a little terrifying, they get results, which could be what people are saying about us on the international stage in general. Look at those coefficients! We're really hyped up about this.

Also, Kaynd went to the trouble of putting together a logo, but it might not even matter, so whatever.

**First Season in Stellar Division

OPENING DAY SUMMARY:

Jungle Strike FC v. Makosile United :: It was a big match on the opening day at the Track Venture field where Makosile United looked to establish themselves as title contenders in front of their home fans. Instead, however, it was the reigning champs who came away victors, goals with Lorccan Cotterill and Riksa Valjariia giving the Venom the 2-0 win and putting the Makos in an early hole.

Elswhere on the opening matchday, a brace by Vucidini Zekani propelled Arcticala Inlet to a 4-0 win over academy-focused Alikki-Corra and young Vilitan striker Lboaisa Akarelm scored a pair of goals to make Zelkki Milake's Stellar Division debut a miserable one as Mliona-Lpaka ran out 3-0 winners over the newly promoted Astronauts.

Turoki United, Turoki Tide and Lonngeylin Coast also recorded 3 points on the opening day.

THROUGH MATCHDAY 6:

Mliona-Lpaka Turori v. Jungle Strike FC :: It was a goalkeepers duel at the Iobabao Legendary Park in Mliona, as no matter what the offense could piece together, the World Class goalkeeping display by the Vanorian Draugwe Nororon of Mliona-Lpaka and Strike FC's Audisolavian World Cup champion Kajaxo Imaslavii ensured not a single attempt would find twine as both sides would drop their first points of the season in a scoreless draw.

Both clubs would suffer defeats on Matchday 4, however, with Nycflala Kater putting in a World Class performance of his own to shut out his former club on their own turf and lead his self-managed Kiiara-Torra club to victory in the prime-time match. Apple Cobbler, returning for a second season on-loan from Strike, was granted permission to play in the match and ironically netted the games only goal, perhaps giving the parent club something to think about when the loan comes to an end.

Defeat for Mliona-Lpaka was perhaps a little harder to swallow as the 0-1 reversal at the hands of Cednia Beach AFC was their first in the Turorian derby in some time, putting an early threat to their all-but-assured position in the UICA Champions Cup.

Arcticala Inlet had been riding high atop the table but suffered their first defeat on Matchday 5 at the hands of a rejuvinated Turoki Tide at the Turoki Community Complex, a result that allowed the Tide's rivals, the Amateurs of Turoki United to move atop the table as one of two remaining unbeaten clubs.

Things would also get worse for Zelkki Milake, struggling under some of the pressures of World Class competition week after week, letting five goals slip through at home to the Liinai Zakazaka led Jlinal Cove FC.

THROUGH MATCHDAY 10:

The attacking duo of Vudicini Zekani and Nili Ylimaiina was taking the Vilitan League by storm and out of nowhere Arcticala Inlet was relevant again. Now the experienced team captain, former youth phenom Aranora Jaded was having a rejuvinating season, capped by the Electricians 2-1 upset of Strike FC on matchday 9 on the heels of a Ylimaiina brace, propelling Arcticala Inlet into the second position behind the steady and unbeaten Turoki United.

Mliona-Lpaka Turori v. Makosile United :: After a slow start to the season, Mliona-Lpaka and Makosile would meet in Mliona with both sides knowing that likely only one of them would leave the Iobabao Legendary Field still having a legitimate shot at getting back into the title race. The Turorian's got off to a fast start when the Vanorian Belltherdon Cularin converted a Volleyed shot from the edge of the penalty area. From there, however, the match turned more into a street brawl as the Makos looked for every edge back into the match. Inlite Makakio's agitation of the experienced Vilitan winger Jomur Hulyer eventually dug in deep and Hulyer responded in the worst way possible, headbutting Makakio in plain view of the referee - sending Makakio crashing to the ground and giving Hulyer a one-way ticket to the dressing room. 10-man Mliona-Lpaka were able to hold on for the narrow victory however, aided by a second-half red card for the Makos that levelled the playing field.

Turoki United v. Turoki Tide :: The Turoki derby was a much anticipated affair on Matchday 9 with table-topping Turoki United looking for their first Stellar Division title and the 'Tide looking to regain the form that led them to UICA Champions Cup and Super Cup titles. The Tide were banking on success instead of builidng for the future, letting young goalkeeping prospect Sharif Deniibo go out on loan to Lonngeylin City and relying on long-time netminder Hooizo Nuakoi to guide them to the top. However, it was once again the amateur's who shone through and the battle of Turoki Teams with Turorian goalkeepers was won by United who extended their unbeaten run and their lead atop the table.

THROUGH MID-SEASON:

Just as it had appeared that Turoki United were heading towards their first Vilitan League title without much of a fight, fans all across the country were reminded of one crucial fact. Turoki United had yet to play Strike.

Of course, the two teams clashed earlier in the Tropical Trophy, a match that the Venom won 4-2 on Penalty Kicks, but Turoki United's thusly unbeaten Stellar Division Campaign was still missing one crucial result. The two sides would clash at the Lonngeylin Coliseum on Matchday 13 and it would be the substitute Yves Gadois who made all the difference, converting 23 minutes from time to condemn Turoki United to their first defeat of the season and bring Strike back up to second place, 6 points back of the leaders.

The Turoki Tide were only 2 more points adrift after their Matchday 13 run-away victory over Kiiara-Torra thanks to a rare pair of goals from Jeff Donaldson.

At the bottom of the table, Eastal Lunar climbed out of the relegation zone with a 1-0 victory over fellow strugglers Alikki-Corra while Lonngeylin City appeared destined for a return ticket to the Declasse as they were still searching for their first win of the campaign.

Arcticala Inlet's Audioslavian striker Vucidini Zekani was atop the goalscoring charts at the midway point with 5 goals, leading his teammates Nili Ylimaiina by a single goal.

THROUGH MATCHDAY 16:
Things resumed just as they had gone for much of the season with Turoki United opening the second half of the season with another well executed 1-0 draw, riding the goalkeeping skill of Mumau Atla-Siioai and the cohesive attack to get just enough for the three points, extending their lead atop the table to 8 points after Strike FC were held 1-1 by Makosile United.

It seemed as if no one wanted to challenge Turoki United's rite to their first Stellar Division title as the Amateur's kept on trucking along while their rivals continued dropping points on a regular basis. On Matchday 15 it was a shock defeat for Strike FC to relegation threatened Alikki-Corra that not only threatened to hand the title to Turoki - as they had moved 10 points clear with 11 games to play, but saw the Venom slip to 4th in the table, outside of the Champions Cup qualification places with Cednia Beach and Mliona-Lpaka fighting it out for 5th place.

THROUGH MATCHDAY 20:

Makosile United v. Turoki United :: The rest of the Stellar Division was looking towards Makosile United to stop the Turoki Train. The fans at the Track Venture field were likely more worried about seeing their team earn the 3 points to improve their position in the table and get into the UICA qualifying places. Rainbow Blitz opened the scoring at Makosile United seemed to be on their way to victory, but once again, Turoki United's championship level comradery shone through, and the unlikely leaders once again had done just enough to scrape out the single-goal victory, a 2-1 result that further extended their lead atop the table as some started to discuss the fact that, if the remarkable string of victories were to continue, Turoki United could eclipse the Yeaddin Owls record for most points in a single Stellar Division season.

However, where Makosile United had failed, Alikki-Corra answered the call. The capital based club had just two wins on the season but they were impressive, and Kalek Intafel's goalkeeping performance shone where no one elses had in being able to stop Turoki United to give his side their third victory of the season, drag themselves back out of the bottom two and disrupt Turoki United's momentum.

Strike FC ensured it would become a 2-team battle - if a 10 point gap would constitute a 'battle' - eliminating the Turoki Tide from title contention with a 2-0 victory at the Turoki Community Complex on matchday 19.

The Venom continued their top form on Matchday 20 as 2 goals from Friekder Dandalleion over his countryman Erfaon Lisdiren gave the Venom a 3-1 victory over Colonial Sile. But Turoki United marched on with a 1-0 victory over Kiiara-Torra to keep the gap at 10 points, with time certainly not on the side of Strike FC.

As is often the case in the Stellar Division, Strike FC were hitting their late season form in stride with a pair of dominating 4-0 results over Eastal Lunar and Arcticala Inlet respectively.

However, the point deficit could not be overcome by the Venom if Turoki United continued to record victories as they continued to do by a slim 1-0 scoreline, this time over bottom side Lonngeylin City and stadium-sharing rivals the Turoki Tide.

After getting off to a slow start, Mliona-Lpaka AFC were also coming to life at the end of the season moving to within 2 points of rivals Cednia Beach AFC after wins over Jlinal Cove and Alikki-Corra while the Turorian teams threatened to be in a position to both qualify for the UICA Champions Cup, a long awaited feat in the Island Emirate.

Turoki United finally slipped up on Matchday 23, held to a goalless draw by Erfaon Lisdiren and Colonial Sile - however, Strike FC were also held goalless by Jlinal Cove and the widely anticipated Turoki meltdown never came to fruition. With a 10 point differential and only 3 games to play, the consistent play of Turoki United had earned a team of local players and one peak-of-his-career International Goalkeeper: Mumau Atla Siioai, the greatest prize in Vilitan Domestic Sport: The Stellar Division Title.

There was still plenty to play for however, and while Strike all but had second place and their own place in the UICA Champions Cup wrapped up, there were still two places to play for.

Certainly one of, if not the best performing team in the second half of the season, Mliona-Lpaka took care of business against the Turoki Tide with goals from Inamari Altariiz and Lboaisa Akarelm propelling them up to 3rd place in the league table and one step closer to securing their own Champions Cup place.

Cednia Beach's goalless draw with Strike FC on the penultimate matchday secured Mliona-Lpaka's place in the UICA Champions Cup. However, unlike most seasons, the Coconuts were still not out of the picture entirely, still sitting within 3 points of 4th place Lonngeylin Coast - a team that the Turorian club happened to play on the final matchday of the season.

The real interesting stuff came at the other end of the table, however, where 3 teams would sit level on 16 points heading into the final match.

THE FINAL MATCHDAY:

It was a dream scheduling day - or at least it would have been with the top two in the table squaring off on the final matchday. The only problem was, with 12 points separating the top 2, there was nothing left for Turoki United to do but celebrate, regardless of the result on the day.

In the end, the Venom would be left to rue points dropped at places like Alikki-Corra and Kiiara-Torra as they recorded a 1-0 victory over Turoki United. It was the 4th win of the season for the Venom over their rivals from Turoki in all competitions, but it didn't matter. Turoki United were the consistent team and proved the motto 'Defense Wins Championships" with Mumau Atla-Siioai a shoe-in for goalkeeper of the season, having conceded just 9 goals all season long.

Lonngeylin Coast v. Cednia Beach AFC :: The V-Leagues final Champions Cup allocation was on the line as Cednia Beach AFC travelled to Lonngeylin and it was the Turorian side who got off to an early start taking a 1-0 lead after just 7 minutes. Only a victory could see Cednia Beach move into the Top 4 and claim a place in the Champions Cup for the first time in 10 seasons since the rise of Mliona-Lpaka as the top team in the Island Emirate. However, the Turoki Tide could beat out both teams to the punch if the Lonngeylin match ended in a draw or a win to Cednia Beach.

The 'Tide were out of the running however when they were held to a goalless draw by Kiiara-Torra, and for the first time in recent history, the V-League's UICA Champions Cup allocations would be a 50-50 split as Cednia Beach secured the 3 points to leapfrog Lonngeylin Coast into 4th place in the table on the final matchday.

Alikki-Corra v. Eastal Lunar :: It appeared as if the battle to avoid the drop would take place in Alikki-Corra with two of the three sides tied on 16 points at the foot of the table clashed with no excuses after Jlinal Cove took an early lead over Lonngeylin City. However, the match would end up being irrelevant as Lonngeylin City staged a miraculous second half comeback to claim a 2-1 victory in Jlinal securing their place in the top flight for another season and making for a very somber afternoon in Alikki-Corra as twice as many players as usual had to be consoled about failing to save their side on the final matchday.

In the end, Turoki United became the 8th different team to claim the Stellar Division title in the 42 season history of the competition, and joined the Turoki Tide as the only two teams co-located in the same city - no less the same arena - to claim the Stellar Division trophy in their display case.

**First Season in Vilitan League

OPENING DAY SUMMARY:

Tival City, Marine Coast United and Turoki Isle all came away with victories on the opening day while the Yeaddin Owls first ever domestic league match outside the Vilitan Stellar Division was a 1-1 draw with Kiiarana City. Actalia Mermaioada and Balariita Muzmaara cancelled each others goals on the day.

Inland Peaks v. Wunokalsa Waridi :: Inland Peaks opened the season with a new-look Polarian defense with Polar Islandstates Under-21 regulars Vauxhall Jansen and goalkeeper Tobias Toft making their club debut against Turori's Wunokalsa Waridi, returning to the league for the first time since being relegated following Season 37. Jansen was clearly the star of the match - a rock on defense not allowing the Turorian's any chances while dual-national youngster Amosiik Montaane scored the game winner as Inland Peaks got an early leg up in the promotion race with a 2-0 opening day victory.

THROUGH MATCHDAY 8:

Inland Peaks v. Yeaddin Owls :: It was a near table-topping clash at the National View stadium as then 2nd placed Yeaddin Owls visited Inland Peaks. The two teams were still chasing the unbeaten Islanders of Turoki Isle and were jockying for the right to fight in the promotion zone. It was another clean sheet for Tobias toft, 5 for 5 to start his Vilitan League career as Inland Peaks won 1-0 to drop the Owls down to the third position.

The Kionao Locals led by Lita Adjei were the other remaining unbeaten team sitting in 4th place, 1 point behind the Owls after 5 games.

Turoki Isle suffered their first defeat of the season at the hands of Akisa Surta on matchday 7, allowing the pack to close the gap and get back in the fight for the top spot.

THROUGH MID-SEASON:

Marine Coast United v. Yeaddin Owls :: The Original Classic re-ignited itself in a venue that very few ever excpected - in the Declasse Division. It was far from a classic affair with the recently relegated Owls still a more established team than the Marine Coast United side that has been floundering for seasons between the two top divisions. The Owls eventually took the victory to keep themselves in the top 2 looking for an immediate return to the top flight.

While the Classico had a sentimental following, the fixture creators really got earned their salary on Matchday 13 as the season reached its halfway point. Either via coincidence or smart prediction, it would be the Owls against the Islanders in a true top of the table clash that would set up the second half of the season as either a multi-team battle for the title, or, a battle for everyone else to chase the Yeaddin Owls for promotion, and the right to join runaway leaders Turoki Isle in the Stellar Division.

It was the Super-experienced Kuzman Ruslan - sticking around for one final season to try to help his long time club make a quick return to the top flight, doing his part with a pair of goals in the Owls 3-1 victory that closed the gap to the leaders to just 3 points at the midway mark.

The top 2 had built up a five point advantage over the rest of the pack while at the bottom of the table, Wunokalsa Waridi of Turori seemed destined for a quick trip back to the non-league ranks having scored just 2 goals in the opening 13 matches.

THROUGH MATCHDAY 16:

A series of draws to open the second half of the campaign dropped Turoki Isle to second place in the table behind the Yeaddin Owls who had built up a 10 point gap over 3rd placed Inland Peaks in the promotion battle.

THROUGH MATCHDAY 20:

Yeaddin Owls v. Inland Peaks :: The return fixture at the Lirai Asku Castle had all the implications on the final standings as Inland Peaks knew their hopes of promotion would be seriously harmed if they could not come away with 3 points against the Owls. It had been an impressive season thus far for Polarian youngster Tobias Toft in net for the Morata Valley based side but The Owls would have his number on this day, an early penalty kick to break the ice before the game winner just after half-time cemented the Owls place at the top of the table and extended the gap to 12 points back to new third-placed team Kiiarana City.

THE PROMOTION BATTLE:

Turoki Isle's consistency and their 2-1 victory over Kiiarana City on matchday 22 earned them an early ticket back to the Stellar Division after coming up one position short four times over the previous 7 seasons since being relegated from the top flight during season 34.

For the Yeaddin Owls however, things were not wrapped up after Marine Coast United came into the Lirai Asku Castle and made amends for the Owls early season victory at Marine World Park by ensuring that, should this be the last classico ever played in the Declasse, they wouldn't be left behind and the teams will have a split record.

The Owls were still looking favored for promotion however, 9 points clear of the Kionao Locals and Rammsissil while Marine Coast United were a further 4 points back along with Inland Peaks.

It was a 0-0 draw for the Yeaddin Owls on Matchday 24 but it was all they needed, 8 points clear of the Kionao Locals with just 2 games to go the Owls had secured their immediate promotion back to the Stellar Division after spending their first ever season in the Declasse. Turoki Isle's 2-1 victory over the Kionao Locals helped secure promotion for the Owls but also clinched the title for the Islanders ensuring the only thing left to play for on the final days of competition would be Series-B Champions Cup placement and the battle against relegation.

The relegation picture was settled before the finish as well as Wunokalsa Waridi's failure to record 3 points against Kiiarana City condemned them to a quick trip back to the non-league ranks along with Lopinka Rovers, leaving nothing to be settled on the final matchday, in stark contrast to the previous season, making the Declasse competition just as lacklustre at the finish as the run-away Stellar Division was.

The final game between the two promoted sides, Turoki Isle and the Yeaddin Owls played out to a goalless draw while the only result of note saw Inland Peaks defeat Marine Coast United 2-0 to move up one spot in the final standings.

Despite not being able to manage his team to promotion, Lita Adjei was still a shining star on the pitch, leading all players in the Declasse with 12 goals.

Vilitan Cup Round 2:

Things generally went to form in the second round of the Vilitan Cup with the exception of Declasse high-flyers Turoki Isle falling to the non-league Terraroka Spirit in an exciting 3-2 result at Terrasport Park.

FC Almintora needed penalty kicks to get past the Crosaibi Locals while Jilnal Cove, Arcticala Inlet, Lonngeylin Coast and the Kionao Locals also advanced.

Vilitan Cup Round of 16:

Just as they had done the previous season, Turoki United and Jungle Strike FC were drawn against each other early, with the Round of 16 matchup serving to weed out one of the two pre-tournament favorites from the competition. Unlike last season, however, it was the Venom who were victorious with a 1-0 win at the Turoki Community Complex, ending Turoki United's title defense. All matches were decided within the 90 minutes of Normal time and all were won by Stellar Division sides leaving no Declasse or non-league teams left in the Competition.

Vilitan Cup Quarter-Finals: (Two Legs)

An optimistic start to the season came crashing to the end at the Arcticala Electrical Stadium as the Electricians fell 0-3 to Makosile United to wrap up a 4-0 aggregate result, knocking Arcticala Inlet out of the Cup and sending the Makos on to the Semi-Finals.

They would be joined by at least one Turorian team in the Semi's as a resurgent Cednia Beach AFC claimed their place with a 2-1 aggregate victory over Jlinal Cove.

The most highly anticipated clash came in Lonngeylin where Mliona-Lpaka and Strike FC were level, neither of the Vilitan League giants looking to give up their hopes of adding another Vilitan Cup trophy to their coffers just yet. This time it was Friekder Dandalleion who made the difference as Strike survived to advance dumping Mliona-Lpaka out of the competition and leaving Cednia Beach as the last remaining Turorian hope. The Turoki Tide would also advance after a 1-0 victory over Kiiara-Torra.

Vilitan Cup Semi-Finals: (Two Legs)

Makosile (VIL) v. Jungle Strike FC (VIL)
Makosile United hosted the Venom at Track Venture Field looking to earn their fourth consecutive Vilitan Cup Final berth - and hoping to make amends for the fact that they had lost the previous two. The home side were down 2-0 at the half however, and had it all to do just to keep it close and head to the second leg in Lonngeylin with a chance. The Equestrian States' Rainbow Blitz did pull one back for the Makos but they were still at a disadvantage headed into hostile territory for the second leg. Try as they might, they couldn't get the goal they needed and eventually the Venom put the tie out of reach with a Riksa Valjariia goal to secure the 3-1 aggregate win and passage through to the Cup Final for Strike.

Turoki Tide (VIL) v. Cednia Beach AFC (TUR)
Things did not go as planned for Cednia Beach AFC, still searching for their first Vilitan Cup title, when they travelled to Turoki Community Complex to square off with the Turoki Tide. Four goals later, Cednia Beach were in a virtually insurmountable hole. Matlya Eelador scored a consolation goal in the second leg, giving Cednia Beach victory on the day, but it really didn't matter at that point as it was the Turoki Tide who were advancing to the Cup Final for the first time since season 35.

Vilitan Cup Final:

Two sides on opposing paths met up at the Tivali Ring Stadium for a highly anticipated Vilitan Cup Final clash. Strike FC, fresh off three consecutive Stellar Division titles, were undone by the consistency of Turoki United despite clearly having the best team, beating the amateurs 4 times in head to head competition, leaving the Venom only the opportunity to win the Cup as a consolation. For the Turoki Tide, however, they had to watch as their home stadium, the Turoki Community Complex, was used to celebrate the crowning of a Stellar Division Championship that was not their own - the first time in history that a second club from a city had claimed glory in Vilita's top league after another club had already done so at any previous season. Now, it was the Turoki Tide's chance to have their own celebrations, hoping to remind their stadium-sharing rivals which of the two sides has the most silverware in their collections.

It didn't take long for the Venom to earn a corner kick, but that early in the match both sides were still trying to figure each other out and the chance didn't amount to much more than a clearance by the Tide.

Things were different a few minutes later, however, as Friekder Dandalleion collected a through ball from Riksa Valjariia before sliding the ball past Hooizo Nuakoi and wheeling away in celebration. It was a bit of an awkward moment, however, as Dandalleion celebrated on his own while the rest of his teammates walked back to defend the goal kick, the Referee's Assistant with his flag up to indicate that Dandalleion was offside when the pass came through.

It was temporary relief for the Tide who realized they had dodged a bullet, but they were still being outplayed in the early going. The momentum started to change about 20 minutes in however when Strike FC captain Miiara Makose was carded for a challenge on Kiroki Mitaroka. The resulting free kick resulted in a great chance for the Tide, the initial kick forcing Imaslavii into a save which he punched out only as far as Jeff Donaldson at the top of the box and the Legalite defender cracked an effort that screamed through the pack only to find the outside of the post before going out for a goal kick.

Although the game remained scoreless as the half time break approached, it was certainly not a typically drab goalless match as the teams continued exchanging chances up and down the field with it being a near certainty that the capacity crowd at the neutral Tivali Ring Stadium would see at least one, if not more goals come through in the second half.

Things got going quickly in the second half as Enluta Makakio scored to put the Venom up 1-0 just 2 minutes in. However, in a freak incident, the impressive nation-less player Lorccan Cotterill injured himself while celebrating Strike's go-ahead goal and had to come off the pitch, being replaced by Viji-mara Lawaai.

The Tide might have seen that as an opening and would eventually level the scores to set up what appeared would be a grand stand finish over the final 15 minutes. Instead, however, Vilitan defender Uajiala Pulkki committed the ultimate offense, downing Yves Gadois as the Venom attacker was scooting by to be free on goal. As Pulkki was the last man on defense, it was straight red for the experienced defender, just his 4th red card in over 15 seasons as a professional. Gadois stepped up confidently and converted the spot-kick and the 10-man Turoki Tide could never find a way back into the game, Strike FC cruising home from that point to secure the 2-1 victory and their record 11th Vilitan Cup title.

The Coliseum is one of the oldest, but most expansive stadiums in Vilita. The Home of Vilitan club Strike FC, the stadium has undergone several renovations, name changes and expansions in its long history, which includes being a knockout venue for the World Cup 17 and 31 finals, as well as hosting the exciting World Cup 59 Final between The Babbage Islands and Aguazul and the Champions Cup 37 Final. The Coliseum is known for its unique hillside accommodation, boasts one of the most impressive match atmospheres in the region. Typically, only the home fans are allowed in the south and east areas, which include both hillside seating and open hillside that can accommodate an approximately 30,000 additional fans beyond the seated capacity - depending on how far away from the stadium they wish to prop themselves. Away fans are always seated in the west grandstand.

Globe Cup: Tivali Ring Stadium, Alikki-Corra (87,000 Seated)
The Football Association of Vilita is based at the Tivali-Ring Stadium in the capital city of Alikki-Corra, Vilita and many National Team training sessions take place on the grounds of the Tivali Ring. The Football Association regularly schedule matches at arenas throughout Vilita, especially bigger matches as many of the stadiums that host Stellar Division and UICA competition matches have expanded far beyond the capacity of the National Stadium at Tivali Ring, which is used only for the National Team, and, for the Vilitan Cup Final and Tropical Trophy matchup. In addition to its World Cup matches, 'The Ring' hosted the 40th UICA Series 'B' Champions Cup Final. The stadium was constructed as part of the Vilitan bid to host the World Cup 14 Cup of Harmony as a replacement to the former National Stadium in Lopinka that was destroyed during a regional conflict.

Series B Champions Cup: Lirai Asku Castle, Yeaddin (capacity 62,000)
This historical aged castle was converted into a sporting arena by the Yeaddin Owls who promised to pay for maintenance on the Castle Exterior while building their stadium against the vacant inner walls of the structure. Despite its relatively low capacity compared with other stadiums in the Tropics of Vilita, the atmosphere provided by the Lirai Asku Castle both inside and out makes it a popular choice to host international matches in World Cup, Cup of Harmony, Baptism of Fire and AOCAF competition.

The Cednia Beach Center is one of the purest examples of capitalism and expansion in the Vilitan Leagues. Originally a modest plot for a modest team, the stadium has risen along with the rise of the club. Now, a world class stadium capacity wise, there are concessions that were made. The training grounds outside the center are second rate, and parking is virtually non-existent at the complex. Public transportation - including your own two feet, would be required for fans to access the stadium. Thats alright though, plenty of lodging surrounds the local area within walking distance.

Globe Cup: Eels Park, Eelandii (capacity 68,000)
The brand new Eels Park arena in "Eelandii" - A fictional city according to the official map of Turori, located between the capital of Almintora and the center of sport in Cednia, was opened for the World Cup 63 Finals hosted in Turori as well as Aguazul. The Arena has since hosted matches during the 26th Di Bradini Cup and due to its moderate size is one of the most atmospheric venues in all of Turori. Turorian National Team matches not being held in Cednia are likely to be held at Eels Park instead of Almintora National Stadium in the future.

For this season of the Acedonian league system, I will be using a new ranking system based off of KPB for scorination. The APL uses the same multipliers as WC quals. The Second Division uses half of those. The Acedonian Cup uses CoH multipliers. In addition, random numbers were generated on random.org between 0 and 500 to simulate an RP bonus out of 5 points, which has been added into the rankings for this season A single bonus was applied for both the Cup and the leagues. If I like the results I get out of this, I will be continuing this system in future seasons. Once again, the season will be scorinated in 3 posts.

3rd Acedonian Cup

Unlike previous seasons, there was no reorganization of the Acedonian league system this year. Zebras have been relegated to the Second Division and replaced, in the Premier League, by Parrots, who earned promotion as last year's Second Division champions. The Owls were relegated to the Third Division. The Turkeys finished mid-table last year in the Third Division. Instead, the Jaguars, an attacking-oriented side, were promoted to the Second Division. The format remains the same as last year. The top 8 teams from the 3rd UICA-affiliated season of the Acedonian Premier League will receive byes to the Second Round while the remaining 16 teams in the top 2 divisions enter the First Round in hopes of earning a Cyngus Cup berth.

There were no truly unexpected results in the first round this year, nor were there any truly close cup ties. Every one of the 8 teams that advanced did so by at least 2 goals on aggregate. It just wasn't a very exciting start to the Acedonian Cup this time around.

While the second round was slightly more competitive, there were still few surprises, even if the Warriors did put a scare into the Rhinos and the Walruses did pick up a meaningless second leg victory against the Vultures (after losing the first leg 5 goals to 1). The cup tie between Republica FC and Ravens lived up to all expectations, as the 2 most recent APL champions battled to a nil-nil draw in the first leg before Republica FC won 5 goals to 3 in the away leg in a match that was closer than the scoreline indicates. The 5th Republica goal was scored against an empty net after the Raven keeper came forward for a corner. The corner was headed into space and a Republica player got there first and was able to score a clinching goal with ease.

The quarterfinals of the 3rd Acedonian Cup saw the first real surprises of the event this year. Legion, a Second Division side, upset Cardinals of the Acedonian Premier League to advance to the semi-finals. Meanwhile, the Dolphins took Republica FC to the limit and Lions, a mid-table Premier League side, defeated Bears, a team that have been perennial UICA contenders in the past. A battle between Vultures and Rhinos turned out to be a lopsided one as the Vultures moved on convincingly to the semis.

The semis proved to be highly competitive, as 3 out of the 4 matches resulted in draws and the margin in the other match was just 1 goal. The battle between the defending Acedonian Cup winner and the defending APL champions saw the champions of the Acedonian Premier League, the club owned by the controversial Rule Theriault, advance to the finals. Elsewhere, the Legion picked up yet another upset, this time stunning the Lions to reach the final of the Acedonian Cup. This meant that a Second Division team would play in the Cup finals.

In an exciting 2-legged final, the Legion, a Second Division side, stunned the mighty Republica FC to win the Acedonian Cup. After a 2-2 draw at Republica FC, the Legion won 2 goals to 1 at home to shock the city-state of Acedonia and secure their place in the Cyngus Cup. With the victory, the Legion became the odds-on favorite, in the eyes of Republican oddsmakers, to win the Second Division and return to the Premier League after 2 seasons in the Second Division.

Season 1960

Once again, the Liga de Fuego has had its flame snuffed out, though for reasons that are still quite a mystery for those in the know. However a three tier league did develop none the less, with the twenty-two best amateur clubs being invited into the professional leagues and forming the new bottom tier of the sixty-four team Pasarga pyramid. Other changes to the domestic scene where the rewarding of SBCC spots to the new second tier as well as a Cygnus Cup spot to the winner of the new Copa de La Luna. While there has been some speculation about recreating the Liga de Fuego in the future with another nation, at the moment that hope looks quite slim. It may be the the new age of Pasargan domestic football under the SuperLigas are here to stay.

It seems only right then that to christen the new Pyramid that we start with a bit of something old and a bit of something new. For the the new, we had an actual buzz around transfer day, as three big name foreigners came into the Pasargan league, with Galatica and Baskita FC both upgrading their attack with new strikers. Some might recognize Baskita's new signing as none other than Valladares Yoan Gignac. The striker seemed to be just what the doctor ordered for the club, as they found themselves sitting pretty in a CC spot at the end of the season, a full six points clear of surprise challengers Galatica instead of the usual Tanrısal. As for something old, well Galatica was there in a Globe Cup spot, but it was CAP who once again won the day, with a stellar collection of eighty-two points in the season. However, Galatica got their revenge when the two were drawn against each other in the first round of the cup, knocking off the champs at home. And quietly, Turkish went about their business and snuck their way into the Globe Cup as well, like a silent assassin.

However it was in the Copa that the biggest surprise took place, as Duke of the North squared off against Santos Luega in the capital and took down the better side to secure their spot in the international fixtures. It's a huge blow for Tanrısal who miss out on the UICA entirely after reaching the Final of the Globe Cup last season, but football is a funny old game. I wont expect Tani to be out of the UICA for long though, they have a tendacy for bouncing back and with a bang, so much so that CAP should be wary about their odds of once again retaining the title next season. In the lower leagues, the four team playoffs caused some last season excitement and drama and we will look to see how these amateur clubs fare as they get to contest with the most established professional sides next season. It's a brand new start for the Pasargan domestic scene and what a new start it would be if one of the sides cashes in on Pasargan potential and nabs a title.

The 4th UICA-affiliated season of the Acedonian Premier League started out with an unprecedented competitive balance, a result of an offseason that had been particularly strong for some of the traditional mid-table teams. At the midway point, just 4 points separated 1st place and 8th place. The offensive struggles of Vultures had been the biggest surprise of the season thus far. Herakles Karoki had suffered an injury, depriving the Vultures of their top scoring threat and the APL's only genuine superstar player for the better part of the first half. As a result, the Vultures could not even manage 2 goals per game in the first half. There was also a close battle for relegation, as just 5 points separated 9th place from 12th.

The 3rd quarter of the APL season saw the Vultures pull away from the pack as they went on an absolute tear, piling up 21 out of a possible 22 points in this quarter of the season. This corresponded with the return of Herakles Karoki to their lineup and saw the Vultures take a 9 point advantage over Republica FC and Warriors going into the home stretch. An intense battle was brewing with Warriors and Lions putting up surprising runs at a UICA berth and with the Ravens and Bears, perennial contenders still well within contention for a coveted spot in UICA. On the bottom of the table, Dolphins sat at 17 points, on the verge of relegation. Only Parrots, on 23 points, were in any danger of relegation, but it appeared that the previous season's Second Division champions would stave off relegation for at least this season. As the final stretch approached, attention turned to the battle for those last 3 UICA berths.

The Vultures won the Acedonian Premier League easily, clinching on Matchday 39. A 3 match losing streak from Matchday 41 to Matchday 43 made the final table deceptive, as Vultures were absolutely dominant over the second half of the season. Republica FC and Lions secured their UICA berths before the final day and Dolphins were already relegated by that point, so the only thing on the line on the last day of the season was the final berth. Bears and Rhinos were contesting it, with Rhinos ahead in the table. Rhinos fell flat on their faces, losing 4 to nil to Warriors, who finished a respectable 6th. Bears picked up a hard-fought win at the last possible moment against Republica FC to earn the final UICA berth. Ravens somehow finished 8th, behind Falcons, a result that led to the firing of their manager just minutes after they finished out a pathetic season by losing to the lowly Cardinals.

At the halfway point of the season, just 3 points separated the top 4 in the Second Division. The same number of points separated the 4th place Hippos from the Turtles. With the top 4 teams qualifying for UICA, a top-4 spot in the Second Division was now highly coveted. At the bottom, Vipers were currently in the relegation position, with only Jaguars close. If anything, the Second Division seemed to be more competitive and that would make for a more exciting league.

With 3 quarters of the season in the books, the Geckos had begun to pull away from the pack. They were now 6 points clear of the second place Hippos. Only a point separated 3rd and 4th from 5th, but after that came a large drop off. The Zebras had been one of the most disappointing teams, with just 27 points so far, following their relegation from the Premier League. At the bottom, the Vipers and Jaguars were tied at 20 points, 5 behind the hapless Pandas.

In the end, the Second Division season ended anticlimactically. Geckos ran away with the Division title, advancing to the APL. Meanwhile, Legion, Hippos and Walruses earned UICA berths. The relegation battle came down to the final day, when the Jaguars lost and the Vipers won. Either of those results would have secured safety for the Vipers and they got both. However, right after the matches finished, Commissioner Achillios Kenteris announced the expansion of the Second Division to 16 teams, effective next year. This will come with a new 30 match schedule, which the Commissioner hopes will reduce the financial losses that some Second Division clubs have faced in the past. Turkeys and Owls both finished in the top 4 in the Third Division, so they will be returning. The Jaguars will not be relegated, due to the decision to expand the Second Division.

As much as it pains me to do this, since I'm currently doing a big restructure of the Licentian Football League that I want to do properly, I'm going to have no chance of completing another season before the deadline, so I will be resubmitting last cycle's entrants. If people with players in my nation want an IC excuse, the recent revolution probably meant that surviving was a bigger priority for most Licentians than watching some highly-paid ponces kick a ball about for 90 minutes.

Several Clubs went through the postseason for the very last time, as Royal PFC was set to use its Government power to liquidate over a hundred teams from the Darmeni football system. In addition, the six Semi-Autonomous Counties of Darmen (Berbari, Brham, Chuckio, Rigerata, South Darmen and Tilden) are set to run their own leagues next season, and because of this, a new format for the Darmen Cup has been made. Next season is going to be different for sure. The Youth and Reserve cups were also put on hiatus.
