Description:
With the continuance of large navies and ever growing Naval Combat and the roles of ships with the ability to carry many a number of large missiles, and the ever-presence of Amphibious Warfare, Halcyon Arms saw fit to bring back the Battleship to it's former glory. With the Legion-class Line, the battleship is modernized; most competitors are merely relics of a time long past, not truly fit for floating any longer, let alone naval combat or shore bombardment.
The Legion-class Line takes a practical approach to Battleship Design, breaking the roles off into three groups:
- Legion-class: The namesake of the line, the Legion is meant for attacking ground-based targets and strike warfare. It's 16" guns are capable of delivering heavy rounds accurately and cheaply to inland targets and dealing significant damage, while being able to take it back from ground-based missile systems.
- Centurion-class: The Naval Warfare ship of the group, the Centurion is well rounded with 12" guns and a larger assortment of missiles, allowing it to contend with heavier dreadnoughts in naval combat where guns are a silly notion, while still having large enough cannons to deal damage to shore-based targets for a fraction of the cost of using missiles.
- Longbow-class: Meant as a support vessel for all sorts of missions, this ship claims the title of "Missilenought," as it's armament is almost entire missiles. It is meant to launch long-range strikes and stay well out of combat range, raining fire upon it's enemies.
