Recent news from the Confederacy of Neu Engollon shows there is a mixed emotion amongst the neutral nation's civilian population regarding the Empire's policies regarding the colonization. Recent media outlets from the country have quite openly spoken out naming the Spartanian peoples as "Imperial Oppressors" and "Totalitarian" while defaming their own politicians, companies, and other esteemed people for utilizing Pangus' large tourism markets. A few have even gone so far as to demand that action should be taken against the Empire in order to "halt it's (The Imperial Spartanian Empire's) efforts of regional conquest." Fortunately most of the suggested actions have been those of diplomacy instead of military.

Following the defamation by foreign media there has been a large increase in the promotion of aid and rebuilding programs in southwestern Pangus and southern Prudenesia. With the last major remnants of the Heralds of Pangus subdued and captured politicians have cited that more focus can be put into private and governmental programs meant to restore and reprocess the estates of the colonies into "something better then they once were." Rie'tal Nie'mel, Head Representative of Pangus, had this to say:

"With the Heralds of Pangus no longer a major military threat the Lords can now continue working on increasing the potential of Pangus' tourist markets, transforming it from it's old backwater status into a regional area of culture and comfort. All recent statistics show that since the Spartanian colonial movement officially began in March of this year the average Pangegian citizen residing in the Corvus estate has seen a tri-fold increase in the average state of living. This increase is expected to continue in multiple civil and economic sectors at even faster paces with the coast now completely secure."

With national media focus now able to shift away from military activity as a majority it is assumed that regional neighbors will soon see the good the Empire is doing for the small island continent of Feri Insula and begin to increase diplomatic relations.

Her Majesty's Government has announced the sale of its majority stake in Dangish Airways, the Empire's national flag carrier. The Imperial government, which currently owns a 65% stake in the formerly ailing airliner, intends for 16% of the company to be available for purchase in the form of stocks on the New London Stock Exchange. Employees of Dangish Airways are to receive a 10% discount on the price of shares, tentatively placed at £0.94, as well as priority purchasing.

A young lady has died in eastern Quessex in what is suspected to be the first and only case of rabies reported in the Dangish Empire since 1829. The woman, whose identity has not been disclosed at the wishes of her next of kin, was bit by a feral dog in the early hours of Sunday. She was reportedly intoxicated as the incident occurred, and subsequently failed to seek medical attention until Monday evening. The public health service in Quessex, le service de santé quessoise has issued a health warning regarding the feral dog, and is urging additional precautions over the coming weeks. A dominion-wide effort has also begun to cull any livestock suspected of being infected.

Should Her Majesty's Government subsidise failing multinational Dangish firms? Exceller Education, or EE, is a global provider of exam papers and questions, and is a key part of providing the Order of Education qualification in the Empire and abroad. Yet today it announced it had made a pre-tax loss of £1.6 billion, and that it intended to go into administration before the end of the year. Teachers, schools and dominion education departments have urged the Imperial government to cancel the £4.3 billion fine for impropriety in the Summer 2013 Mathematics series, in order to prevent significant disruption to students' examination results. Other examination boards such as the International Qualifications Alliance and Kettering University Qualifications have announced their intention to distribute EE examinations for free should EE fail.

Parts of the Empire are expecting gale-force winds this evening. The affected regions, mostly within the dominion of Yster Bleu, has been issued a weather warning by the Meteorological Office. Citizens have been advised to remain calm and to stay indoors as much as possible, or to congregate in large, safe buildings such as churches or schools.

Millions Rejoice as Romberg Accedes to Astyria

Millions of Rombergians gathered at the centre of their respective cities yesterday to celebrate the accession of the Imperial Realm of Romberg into the region of Astyria. This followed a discussion and arbitration process conducted by the government of the Imperial Realm of Romberg and the authorities of Astyria. One official described the discussion process as being rather tense, but with important breakthroughs after every meeting. Indeed, the voting process for the admission of the nation into Astyria was described as one of the fastest and most lopsided ever.

Prior to this, integration with Astyria has been the Imperial Realm of Romberg's main foreign policy ambitions since the rapid rise of its economy in the 1980s, culminating in a series of high-level trade talks that led to negotiations for membership. Today, Romberg's economy is heavily dependent on Astyria, with a significant part of its imports and exports going through the region. This trend is expected to rise as further integration of economy, judicial, military and foreign policy of Romberg with Astyria will take place following the accession.

To celebrate for this occasion, the government of the Imperial Realm of Romberg had planned for a large-scale fireworks display and carnival parade at midnight yesterday, which was well-received by the populace. Local Ståtspolizei units have reported crowds of over a million in some cities. This massive celebration also set the record for the most alcohol consumed in a day by the entire nation in the most recent 10 years, with the record only surpassed by the Victory Day celebration back in 1978, at the final restoration of independence of the then Third Principality of Romberg. The mint of Romberg has also produced special 15-Krona coins to commemorate the occasion, and can be bought at any major post office or bank for the price of ◊20.00.

It is the hope of the Government of the Imperial Realm of Romberg that this accession of Romberg into Astyria would signal in a new era of enhanced international cooperation, and bring stability and progress to the nation for many years to come.

Her Majesty's Secretary of State for Foreign & Imperial Affairs, Mr George Hague, has announced the establishment of an Imperial Commission on a Supranational Union of Astyrian states. Mr Hague, whose deparment's rein includes Imperial policy in Astyria, has long advocated a supranational customs and trade union, arguing its establishment would aid the Dangish economy. The Imperial Commission, composed of prominent economists, sociologists and politicians, is expected to produce two reports for the Imperial government: a Major report and a Minor report. Lord Scylla, the President, has ruled out Dangish involvement in the hypothetical "Astyrian Trade Society" within this parliament.

Her Majesty the Queen made her final Queen's Speech of the 2014th year today to the House of Lords and Commons in Parliament assembled. Her Majesty announced the intentions of her government to more severely prosecute identity theft as well as to bolster the economy. The speech was also met with controversy by some, specifically the two members of the Quessian Nationalist Party, whose manifesto is comprised mostly of calls for independence and secession from the Dangish Empire, who declared the speech to be "contrary to the Empire's democratic principles." The two members have announced their decision to cease attending Parliament in New London in favour of an unofficial "Quessian National Assembly" back in Quessex. The state Government of Quessex has apologised to the Imperial government and the Queen for the incident.

The paedophilic serial killer William Rye has been found dead in his prison cell, murdered by another inmate. Rye, responsible for the 2003 deaths of Millie Kirke and Leon Tope as well as others, was found in his cell with sharp blades, suspected to be mirrors, in his neck and his rectum. Her Majesty's Prison Service has apologised for his death, but claims no negligence occurred. Prisoners' rights advocates have called for a national inquiry into Mr Rye's death, whilst the parents of Miss Kirke and Master Tope have declared their "perverse pleasure" in hearing the news.

In yesterday's sport, Dungeyland was yet again victorious. The Dangish national team defeated Varrockia last night in the football by three to nil. Harding scored twice just after half time and Stephenson scored in the ninetieth minute in a game that showed Dangish dominance in association football. The Varrockian manager said Varrockia still had a lot of work to do, but that their side was improving and should be ready to seriously challenge Dungeyland in time for the Intraimperial Cup.

Recent news concerning the the EATA, or the Eastern Astyria Treaty Alliance, has come forth out of the High Council chambers today. Admittedly the Council had been excited about the offer as it was deemed proof of the Empire's sphere of influence growing in the region. How ever after reviewing the proposal and noting the mandatory military alliance necessary from member-states and that the Blackhelm Confederacy is seemingly in charge, the High Council has not reached a consensus about committing to the treaty.

Citing Representative Es'semia Neu'rel from Tumulosus Incoluimus: ..the Imperial military shouldn't be placed under restrictions, command, or obligation to a foreign power under any circumstances.

Of course other council members believe that this treaty could be used to help build the new Imperial Navy.

Citing Advisory Owl Ki'krow Crel'sia: Signing the Eastern Astyria Treaty Alliance would help promote our military readiness to standards that would be necessary for regional security. It would give us the proper regional reasoning to continue building our military and allow new Navy to gain experience training and participating in operations alongside others.

The treaty proposed by the Blackhelm Confederacy has also brought up questions on morality. Recently regional media coverage commented on the Islamic cleansing that happened only a few years ago within the southern nation. Compounding on this international media has made claims that the Griffincrest Oil Company is a front for the Blackhelm Confederacy's government and often preforms some more then less actions in order to keep an competitive edge in trade markets. There were not comments issued by the High Council on this.

Recent news from Prudenesia has it that Governor Dankscoft is attempting to gain governmental support in making the ruins of Nouveau Avignon a recognized historical site. Should she succeed Nouveau Avignon would become a protected site making it illegal from any deconstruction or changing of the protected areas of the city. It has been said this could seriously undermine mining companies, especially Red Moon Mining Incorporated who has supposedly found a large deposit of copper nearby.

Most Prudenesians hold a mixed heritage of Native and Gaulic decent and Nouveau Avignon is a historical site for both lines of blood. The once Gaulic colony capital was host to both Prudensian heroines Ki'halita'hiena and Antoinette Dubois who helped form the republic that developed after the Terre des Gaules Empire lost control of the land. They formed a system that made both the Natives and Gaulic citizens equal leading to the proud heritage that most Prudenesian people share now. The site should be preserved for historical reference and educational learning for future generations.

It seems despite the wide spread public opinion that Emily Dankscoft is nothing more then a puppet and her governorship meaning nothing she is still attempting to prove otherwise. She has already rallied public support for not only turning Nouveau Avignon into a historical site, but also for the rebuilding of Shapolis, the once capital of the Dominion of Pruden that was all but destroyed during the colonization.

TUNNEL TERROR

King Frisrich Tunnel remains closed as five bodies are found.

In the last few hours, social networking sites have been alive with alleged terrorism plots in the King Frisrich Tunnel after it has emerged that local police forces have closed the link under the Imberford Northern Hills.

At 2354 last night (24 November 2013), toll control in Imberford dialled the Acreage counterpart which was instructed to close both directions at its end. Meanwhile, Imberford Metropolitan Police had immobilised a special firearms unit from their Georgia Heights HQ.

The alarm was raised when a motorist, travelling southbound to Imberford, passed two vehicles, which have not been described. The cars were reported to have contained 2 and 3 people respectively, though no further information is to be released, due to 'grizzly scenes' and 'no coroners report yet published'.Despite rumours, the police forces are not treating this as terrorism, but as gang violence. This therefore opens new questions. Is there something significant about these victims?

'INDEFINITE' CLOSURE: Acreage District Police and Imberford Metropolitan Police close tunnel.

Further speculation indicated that a car was fled from at the emergency escape pier, 3/4 along the southbound tunnel- currently thought to be a black luxury sedan. However, a spokesperson for the partnered investigation said that such allegations 'will face the test of time', and will not be confirmed or disproved until further notice.

"Police from both municipalities are currently reviewing CCTV surveillance. Being that the tunnel is 2 miles long, they must be given time for thorough and swift, decisive action."

Dorian Newman, the hiding patriarch of the hardened criminals' Millennium Syndicate did release a broadcast, which was distributed from an external source; he took responsibility. However, it is known that Mr. Newman has occasionally backtracked when held to his word.

Thursday, November 27^th of the 2014^th year of the Common Era.

Her Majesty's Government has survived a vote of confidence in both Houses of Parliament by a mere 12 votes on the now moot issue of military intervention in the Kingdom of Agrincourt. The vote, the results of which were released early this morning, declared the slim confidence of the House of Commons in the Marquess of Cratley, the Lord Scylla's administration with the support of roughly half of the Dangish Unionists. Her Majesty's Government had announced an incursion into the Kingdom of Agrincourt in order to support its fellow East Astyrian Treaty Alliance member, the Blackhelm Confederacy. Within minutes of the vote passing, however, Her Majesty's Secretary of State was informed of an agreement between the soon to be warring nations.

The Imperial government was further forced to acknowledge its ratification of the East Astyrian Treaty Alliance was indeed membership of a supranational union in Astyria, in conformance with the ruling of the Appellate Court of the Lords in Ordinary earlier this week. In this acknowledgement, the Liberals admitted to breaking their manifesto promise of not joining any such union within the length of this Parliament. However, Mr. Hague stated that "Imperial membership of EATA is subject to ongoing review, specifically by the Royal Commission."

Constitutional reform is under way in the Kingdom of Varrockia, whose ruling "Imperial Party" has agreed to begin negotiations to be admitted as a full dominion within the Dangish Empire. The agreement to form the Dangish Empire was sat out on by Varrockians, who instead formed the associated Kingdom. This Kingdom, under a Union of Crowns with the Empire, had its foreign and defence policy guaranteed by New London, but received no funding or investment from the Dangish Crown. This is set to change by the end of the year, as the new Kingdom will receive votes in the Imperial Parliament for the first time.

Today is the official opening of the Acque Blu Naval Academy and founding of the Imperial Navy. Built in the Orsetta estate the academy sits just a mile away from smaller port city of Ver'lat. The Academy's physical training program is supposedly to share a similar one to that of the

ISGF training, with a few modifications as advised by ex-Republican Navy officers. The training courses will also touch on how to navigate and preform routine ship maintenance before cadets and recruits are separated off to learn specific job functions.

In order to help properly train those who sign up ex-Republican Navy officers have been placed in positions as advisers and instructors. Officially apart of the new Imperial Navy these men and women are the first civilians to earn their citizenship with the Empire. As well as the academy being opened recruitment centers in every major cities of the colonies will be opening their doors as well, including in Prudenesia.

Popularity for the signing up with the Imperial Navy has been on the increase since the first announcement in the spring that serving would bring citizenship. The High Council is sure that growth of the Navy will happen quickly and is currently looking into the possibility of buying new ships sooner rather then later, believing the ships left intact after the Republic surrendered will quickly fill up.

In political news the High Council has approved the idea of Pangegian governor. Noted pro-Imperial Pangegian civilians have noted how it seems unfair that the Prudensians were appointed their ex-president as governor and given a political voice while they had not been. To rectify the situation the High Council had announced that a Pangegian governorship would be put in placed. Though with most of the ex-Republic politicians no longer in the country, leaving as refugees near the end of the war, and the ex-Republican president found to have committed suicide only a month before there was no obvious candidate. In light of this the High Council has finally decided to allow the Pangegian civilians the right to vote on their governor.

With the official word out Colonial Ruler Lord Pal'land has allowed begun authorizing the future voting areas in the major cities and is taking in the applications for candidates. Once recognized candidates will be given a small budget to start their campaigns. They will be able to accept donations, pay to run public adds, place up posters in designated public spaces, and other things. The deadline for taking in applications will be the end of December and the voting will start at the beginning of February next year.

Since the Pangegian people will be allowed to vote on their governor will become a standard set across the board. Position terms will last for two year stents before a new vote must be processed. While no other regulations have been set at this time it has been said that as time goes on new ones will be processed to keep the position from being abused.

Top Terrorist Killed In Military Operation

Yesterday, at around 10pm local time, military police units have assaulted a house in Northern Nordland state, believed to be the hideout of a major terrorist organization, aiming to cause a genocide and the establishment of a totalitarian dictatorship. This organization has been claimed to be responsible for several major bombings and targeted killings within the Imperial Realm of Romberg, notably that of a Kaiserliche Armee Colonel using a sniper rifle while the Colonel was still inside the barracks.

During the operation, Military Police units have managed to capture three militants, while killing a total of four more, for two injuries, one serious and one mild. The surviving militants are going to face trial in court for terrorism and treason, as well as murder and aggravated assault for the casualties in their attacks. They would hence face the death penalty, which is recommended by the prosecution. Later analysis shows that one of the killed militants was a highly-wanted criminal responsible for causing a crime spree in Southern Romberg several years ago. He had been at large until now.

Documents recovered from the house record plans for several more terrorist incidents, including an assassination attempt on the Kaiser and a major bombing of the Imperial Central Bank in Neustadt. The Imperial Intelligence Institute believes that this successful operation has managed to dissolve a real threat to the people and the sovereignty of the nation, and at the same time warns the civilian population to be prepared to act against any form of insurrection aimed at causing discord.

At the same time, a list of purported members of the terrorist organization has been found in the building, which would be analysed and used, and Rombergian military and military police units dispatched to deal with these threats. Large quantities of weapons and ammunition, including at least one sniper rifle and a rocket launcher were also found in the building, and the weapons would be destroyed once ballistics tests are complete on the weapons, and evidence gathered. In addition, the house would be demolished and its foundations razed, with the land made government property to be auctioned off some time in the future.

Friday, November 28^th of the 2014^th year of the Common Era.

"THIS HOUSE HAS NO CONFIDENCE IN HER MAJESTY'S GOVERNMENT."

Good Evening. You are listening to a special edition of the Empire Service News on the Dangish Broadcasting Corporation, and the time is 17 O'Clock in New London, My name is Judith Meyer, and these report is brought to you to discuss the resignation of the President and calling of fresh elections.

Her Majesty's Government is dissolved. With a plurality of seats but no formal coalition agreement, the Liberal Party's minority government was never expected to last. Yet since the elections in April this year, the Liberals have been very successful in fulfilling their legislative agenda with the support of disgruntled Conservatives and willing Dangish Unionists, amongst nationalist parties and independents. Today, however, the Liberals' luck ran out. The President's controversial Social Security Act, 2013, announced at the Liberal conference earlier this year, failed to pass through the House of Commons by 4 votes.

Although it is not constitutionally mandated, it is convention for the sitting government to dissolve itself and Parliament with it, in order to call elections. After the confirmation that the Commons had rejected governmental authority, Lord Scylla went to see the Queen in order to request the Crown to dissolve Parliament and call fresh elections. Agreeing to the Lord's request, Queen Ellen announced the end of this Parliament and elections for another Parliament on December 20th.

The Leader of the Opposition, Rowena Snow MP, announced to a thundering Commons that "this House has no confidence in Her Majesty's Government," a statement which led to jeers from Liberal benches and cheers from the Conservatives. Immediately after, the session was adjourned by the Speaker as Snow confirmed she had no intention of attempting to form a government within this Parliament. The Dangish Unionist Party called for the next government to lead an inquiry into the present Her Majesty's Government's policies this Parliament.

The Marquess of Cratley, the former President, Lord Scylla, has agreed to an interview for this special edition of the Empire Service:

My Lord, welcome to the Empire Service. I'd like to begin by asking you why you think the House of Commons has no confidence in your administration?

"Thank you Ms Meyer. I believe the issue in question was not a specific lack of confidence in the Imperial government by the Commons, but rather a failure on the part of Her Majesty's Government to include the various political parties and independent Members in the political process. This flaw in our administration was severe enough to bring down our government, but was not one we are accustomed to. The Empire has not had a minority government for twenty years, and I believe it was a noble attempt to improve the Empire both economically, socially and politically which sadly has reached the end of its life-span."

You intend, sir, to attempt to secure re-election on December 20th?

"Of course I do. This Parliament, however brief, has improved living standards and personal freedoms in its seven month existence. The old Conservative government under Lord Clarke led this Empire into a disastrous, debt-fuelled crisis which almost led to rampant separatism and a general diminishing of Imperial stature abroad. Since April, we've picked the economy back up through free market theories and quantitative easing, as well as restoring Imperial prestige and the quality of our citizens' lives. I do not believe I have finished the job. Therefore, I intend to return and continue dismantling the broken parts of the Imperial state."

How long can the Liberals blame the poor economy on the Conservatives?

"As long as it remains the case. Liberal policies have not caused recession; nay, it is Lord Clarke's government whose aborted Keynesian stimuli led to a lack of a confidence. We must state the case for our re-election as it is, and it is a case of refuting the government failure the Conservatives promoted."

FIDDLERS ON THE FLOOR

New Utrecht City to disband and assimilate with neighbouring districts.

It all started in a large budget row in City Hall, New Utrecht last month when the public were brought in for monthly Council Questions. The session ended with south side citizens getting bothered with the expenses in the north- where the council invested 80% of their council tax takings for regeneration, in just one area of the north- once again.

This month, a police presence was to watch over the December session. In addition, Ministers in Woldland made it clear that they would attend to speak publicly on such issues after the annual National Public Services Survey returned to be compiled little over two weeks ago. This week would be the week that findings are published on the website. Grasping a copy of NPSS, Communities and Local Authorities Minister, Tasmyn Khan (LIB) took issue with Councillor Theresa Davit- that responsible for the City Council Healthcare Authority.

Khan asked "How can you say that New Utrecht is stronger than ever, when only one side of the city has access to healthcare which hits sufficient targets?" which gained a standing ovation from many evident southern citizens.

"Maybe that is an issue you can alert the Minister [of Healthcare and Public Safety] in your next Cabinet meeting, Minister Khan."
"It is laughable that you push the finger on to our level when every other municipality has done well, and we are providing you with twice the funding per capita. Blame the mismanagement of your peers Councillor- ask your accountants where you spent---instead."

Khan sat down as another round of applause followed. We may have thought that this was the end. However, Khan last week did demand a check over the books at the Archive Centre in New Utrecht, recovering very tantilising information. Half of the extra health stimulus awarded to failing centres in south New Utrecht was directed towards Farrowfields Ambulance Service- which Farrowfields District Council had previously flagged up. As the Health Minister looked at the records, it would seem he observed outdated figures which showed no fiddling.

Farrowfields Paramedic Commissioner, Petra Krupa, has confirmed that 'FAS has kept this money as proof, and will not spend it, unless directed to'.

The plot thickens, however. More records have flagged up a bonus paid to Council Leader Councillor Ben Gray and Mayor Julian Colne. Today, it has been announced that all councillors and senior officials will be called to Saint Edward Crown Court. in the meantime, they have been suspended, and New Utrecht City Council has disbanded- which is why the council was not tried at New Utrecht Crown Court; Farrowfields District Council and its services have been rewarded a contingency fund as it absorbs southern New Utrecht. Northern New Utrecht has been turned over to New Mission District Council, and its headquarters have been rewarded a contingency fund to clear up.

A New Mission District Council spokesman stated that they were appalled by their neighbours and are most happy to work with Farrowfields to redress a balance, whereas Farrowfields District Mayor Sandra Paley announced that Farrowfields will 'obviously' do a better a job at caring for the disadvantaged New Utrehticians.

Only time will tell whether these merges stay, and whether New Utrecht Council was a corrupt institution.

Council States from around Astyria will converge on Valle Crucis next week; local leaders prepare for surge in business.

For local businesses lining the boulevards of the plaza court, life is about to get a whole lot sweeter. City elders and business leaders alike expect a huge surge in profits as Valle Crucis prepares to showcase itself to the world during the forthcoming E10 Council of Nations Summit meeting next week. Already, some business owners have begun extending their hours to handle the influx of tourists and summit attendees who have already arrived for the upcoming festivities. More changes in traffic patterns and local store hours are expected as the meeting date draws nearer, though city officials have issued public assurances regarding their ability to handle the extra burden.

"If we weren't confident about our ability to [sic] handle the summit meeting, Valle Crucis would have never agreed to host it," police spokesperson Appius Calvus said earlier this morning at a pre-summit press conference held by the city elders. "The impact this will have on the city and its people is immeasurable. Never before has Valle Crucis held such a wonderful opportunity to truly integrate itself into the Astyrian community, and we plan on being prepared in every manner possible for this occasion."

In lieu of his formal responsibilities as the official representative delegate of Valle Crucis to the E10 Council of Nations, the Honorable Marcus Tarquitius Praetextatus served as the unofficial emcee of the press conference this morning. Praetextatus, a career servant of the city in both a military and political capacity, was long considered to be the frontrunner to secure the nomination as the plenipotentiary emeritus of the city.

This morning, the seventy-year-old Praetextatus downplayed his reputation as a deciding factor in the selection. "When you look into political matters such as these, reputation only plays a small role. You have to facilitate the best possible outcome for all involved, and so you piece together a platform that will not only deliver results for your city, but also for those that you're working with." When pressed for an explanation as to why his own delegation team had been kept from the public eye, Marcus added: "Sometimes, when you are working around sensitive information, you have to keep your cards close to the chest. But make no mistake, there will be absolutely no ambiguity in the fruits of our labor once the summit meeting completes after next week."

City elders and business leaders have estimated that more than a hundred thousand people may attend the summit meeting, spurring a huge chance for an increase in business during an ordinarily slow time of year for tourism. Resort hotels all along the Magna Litore have begun preparing for the influx of delegates and tourists in town for the summit. At the present, city police officials have called on an additional $2.5 Million U.S.D. in funding to help prepare security needs for the function, though other offices have announced that they plan to operate under normal parameters for the duration of the summit. Most city officials have expressed excitement and great anticipation for the forthcoming rendezvous with regional leaders. For Praetextatus, though, it's just another day in the city.

"We're going to do this right. And it's going to be exceptional."

Winter Storm 'Viktor' Smashes into North East Euralon

National Emergency

Lithinand International Airport feeling the effects of Viktor at 9:05, 1 short hour after landfall.

Lithinand, Euralon - The National Weather Service of Euralon [NWSE] has been tracking Pacific disturbance Viktor for 4 weeks, a growing mass of high winds and below zero temperatures that was coded as a Category 5 early January 30^th. Coastal buoys recorded surface wind speeds of over 40 knots, with minor cyclonic conditions, and snowfall rates of 6 inches an hour. At 15:35 on the 30^th, Euralon issued a Territorial Emergency Condition for Xanentica, Euluarium, Alzey, Olvova, Lithinand, and eastern Marsaraia.

King Odysseus made an International broadcast following the declaration. "Supercell Viktor is merely a test of our dedication. Our hardworking notions. Our commitment to success and prosperity. It is a battle that is a part of the war we fight every day, every minute. It will not move us. It will not break us. It will shadow Euralon in a vast world of darkness...and we will stand tall." Shortly after Odysseus concluded his speech, Chief of the Ministry of Environmental Affairs took the podium and began addressing the nation in a more formal matter. "While Viktor is merely an aspect of our most significant neighbor, Mother Nature, her power is not to be underestimated. We advise that all citizens conduct their travels and errands before Viktor arrives. Euralon is issuing a National curfew from 20:00 to 7:00. Visibility at these times will be less than 10 meters. Any citizens caught within the curfew will be issued a fine of a minimum of $500 ruchtas, and escorted back to their homes. Try to limit exposure to the elements as much as possible. Uncovered skin can be induced with frostbite in as little as 10 minutes, and death can occur in a matter of 30 minutes. Stay off of the roads. Reside by your families. Be safe."

Only 1/10th of the storm has impacted the nation, already showing white-out conditions in much of eastern Lithinand and Euluarium. Officials predict more than 5,000 Emergency Response calls to roadway accidents before the storm dissipates. As of 11:00, officials say that more than 250 accidents have been reported in Lithinand alone, which seems to be taking the brunt of Viktor. 2 inches of hardened ice cover roads and highways in most areas, and already, 4 more inches of snow has fallen since landfall. Conditions are not said to lessen up.

By 17:00, an estimated 18 inches of snow will fall before precipitation begins to lessen in eastern Euralon. No deaths have been recorded yet, but much of telecommunications broadcasting have been knocked out, so information is vital at the moment.

King Odysseus has already requested for Regional aid, calling upon nations from around Astyria to assist in emergency response and search and recovery. Law Enforcement across the nation are flooding into eastern Euralon to assist in any way they can. More than 200 responders reported to a pile-upon on Interprovince 70, involving 146 vehicles, many of which can't be reached. Over 70 injuries have been recorded, and Police still haven't been able to examine the remaining 49 vehicles.

OPPIDUM POCKETS POTENTIAL

Oppidum Airport gains International status.

Oppidum City Council, Grand Northern Ports Authority, Astyria, and National Government... what do they have in common? In the last few hours, GNPA Executives and Mayor Wolf of Oppidum dis-curtained the refitted terminals at Oppidum Airport- now merged with the regional airport. Tegan Griffin, GNPA Director for Oppidum City and New Sunview Unitary Borough, just minutes ago, disclosed that "GNPA and OIA administrators are still settling deals with airliners across the world".

Mayor Wolf did also speak, outlining the aim.

"We are very excited as a city administration", says Wolf, 21, "Some of the city budget, coming from local taxation businesses and industry will be there to support OIA somewhat."

When asked about sustainability and carbon footprint, Councillor Mead did speak.

"We have set up initiatives over the years, as an institution, with 60% coming in the last two years. We have strict rules, but we also must implement this on GNPA; this was understood when we signed off the site for Government secretaries to verify. We are working together to plant two trees to match the weekly flight frequency- expected to be well over 400 before a fourth terminal comes. Ostensibly dirty airlines will be directed away, as agreed by Mr. Griffin."

Other details show that security and policing jobs will receive a 17% growth, and that once the terminals operate at full capacity, the city will get much more. New business contracts are in the making, with the local attractions and transport links have been recently updated.

We asked those working in Oppidum and also those in the street. LiVid was given access to 200 workers in affiliate businesses in Oppidum Businesses Alliance; 12% thought that it would do less good than bad, 3% were indifferent, whilst 85% openly welcomed it- mostly those in the highest and lowest ranked jobs. LiVid also set up a household poll last month upon the announcement that capacity would be on the up. 42% showed indifference, with 6% (mainly those who were closest to the airport) worried due to house prices and land value, though qualms have been put at rest by noise surveyors. 52% grew a warmth to the idea when a projection of job prospects came to public scrutiny.

Expert noise surveyors have published a report outlining minimal changes due to the direction s of flights being eastward and northward. Trees and noise screening will also come by April, OIA and GNPA claim in their Executive Summary on their Noise Pollution Charter.

Only time can really tell what can and will play out. However, many are optimistic.

Airline Re-opens to Fanfare

Following a period of renovations that lasted for almost six months, including intermittent work and disruptions to service, the state-owned flag carrier airline of Romberg, Rombergia was re-opened yesterday by the Kaiser and COO Mr. Andrei Karlsson in the new international headquarters at Holmgard International Airport.

As the largest airline of far Northwestern Astyria, and one of the biggest in the region, Rombergia has always maintained a reputation of quality and efficiency for reasonable prices. It is believed that after new renovations, the airline would continue to carry on this route.

"As a state-owned airline, profits are not our main concern", Mr. Karlsson is quoted as saying. "Our main aim of the airline is to provide travellers with the best that the nation can give."

"As the old saying goes, first impressions matter a lot. In the last few years, tourism has been a large boon to the local economy, and we hope that through our hospitality and service, we could help continue to advance this." - the Imperial Realm of Romberg is still heavily reliant on oil, gold and coal exports to support its economy, but tourism is rapidly rising as a new sector. Tourist numbers to Romberg has reached new highs every year since 2005, even during the global economic downturn in 2008 to 2010. It is believe that this may be partially due to cheap goods produced by the nation thanks to its abundance of natural resources.

"For the future, we have great plans. Our ridership has already increased to over 20 million in just ten short years from a small domestic airline, and we hope to continue this trend. We hope to develop a close partnership with other airlines to help increase our market share, and hence develop a relationship closer than our current flight alliances may entail. We hope that by 2025, we could have a yearly ridership of around 50 million." Speculators have suggested that this may hint at a full or at least partial privatization of the airline leading to a possible stock transfer, which has been owned and maintained by the Rombergian government under various iterations since its formation with Austrian assistance in 1920. The entrance of the Imperial Realm of Romberg into Astyria had earlier doubled Rombergia's ridership through a set of discounts and offers permanently placed onto intra-regional flights.

During the renovation process, Rombergia has dedicated funds in several main areas, including a full overhaul of its much-maligned online webpage and seat reservation system, considered to be the largest blunder of an otherwise high-quality airline, as well as a full refresh and overhaul of the brand. Now, Rombergia is currently in the process of rolling out a new aircraft livery, and is in talks to be one of the first airlines in the region to allow full wifi, phone and internet connection on all its flights, starting with a pilot programme on its domestic and regional flights and eventually expanding to its international routes.

Onboard, a new, comprehensive menu will be included that would better cater for people with various requirements, and a new entertainment system is also being refitted. Safety requirements have been tightened as well, although notably carry-on luggage restrictions have been eased. In addition, flight crew have also received extra training for emergencies, as well as helping to take care of passengers that may require additional assistance. It is speculated that these are moves to further enhance the reputation of the airline, and maintain its reputation as one of the most sought-after airlines in the world.

OPPIDUM ON THE CLIMB AGAIN

Another hub in Oppidum to go international.

Once again, Oppidum is climbing up the business ladder- suddenly Woodstead is changing its very nature as what was once the quiet kid in the corner of the playground, to right in on the game.

Since 1961, Oppidum City Council had run Grand Water- the local port for cruises across Woodstead, and for nationwide cargo. However, like Oppidum International Airport, GNPA purchased the deed when the port authorities were privatised (and GNPA is a now a private firm originating from 6 different port authorities). So what are the repercussions- is it obvious?

This week, Managing Director of the GNPA Grand Water project, Sylvester Joplin, unveiled a master-plan to integrate internationally. More pedestrianised roads, apartment blocks- up to 1,200, office buildings- these are all involved.

"We have the space," said the MD at the GNPA press conference, "and Oppidum is the supposed economic capital of Woodstead- let's make more out of it. It's no good being best for something, just because others have nothing; you need mileage and longevity, too."

Green campaigner remain split over the issue. Leader of the local ecological party worries that the traffic will pollute, though her deputy believes that it will reduce the load on roads anyway- and if it makes more money for tourism, there's more to go in to the Low-Emission initiative fund.

We will soon know if it has paid off, I am sure, when every corner is suited and booted in a 3 piece and bashing digits angrily on their mobile phones.

Good Evening. You are listening to a special edition of the Empire Service News on the Dangish Broadcasting Corporation, and the time is 13 O'Clock in New London, My name is Judith Meyer, and these report is brought to you to discuss the decision of Her Majesty's Government to cease its legal defence of the Security Act, 2005.

The Attorney General announced at 9 O'Clock this morning that the Crown and its government would cease to defend the controversial Security Act. The Security Act, passed by the last Conservative government, introduced new regulations designed to impede terrorism. However, many civil rights campaigners claimed the act restricted liberties and was contrary to the nature of the Crown's relationship with its subjects. The bill's legality has been brought into doubt by grassroots campaigning, and the Coalition government has thus far been responsible for defending the bill in court.

However, the Attorney General's declaration that it would not seek to defend the bill has been seen as a victory for the civil rights campaign. Supporters of the bill, primarily from the Conservative and Monarchist Party, have declared their intention to defend it when it reaches the Lords of Appeal in Ordinary - the Empire's highest civil court.

INTRODUCING THE REFERENDUM
In 2013, Eniko Sipos and Guy Moore planned a referendum for Oceanport to withdraw as a territory, after the Independence Congress dominated the devolved assembly and the First Minister spoke of independence. It was not taken too seriously by the media and much of the population in the Republic of Woodstead that Oportonians would vote on mass to go alone. However, a referendum in November 2013 saw a surprising landslide victory for the "Love and Let Go" campaign headed by the Independence Congress.

First Minister Fritton came into Leuthanian office in October promising a referendum. Before a direct meeting, President Moore made it clear that Cezary, Leuthania, and Libetta would all be given a referendum on their independence. In February, Cezary voted at 67% to stay, and Libetta at 92%; from Thursday 19 March at 0700 hours, polling stations will open until Saturday Morning at 0030 hours across Leuthania's turn. Top pollsters have not been given much time to attempt to calculate the feeling among the Leuthanian population, we fear, so the result will probably be a surprise for everyone- whether pleasant or otherwise.

Post vans are delivering any final purple envelopes across Libetta, as polling stations open doors to small crowds Pollstar's last poll just two hours before indicate independence at 78% success. President Moore has left a message to wish Leuthania well in whatever circumstances.

1257 hours- Fri 21 March
Pollstars closes final poll at 38% against independence, and IRom closes at 29%. Winnings for Webble suggested, but not absolute.

2238 hours- Fri 21 March
Independent leader, Clarissa Webble and opponent Jacqueline-Leigh Treagus are on UMC Radio 2 discussing their argument peacefully. They both urge those who have not voted, to do so if they are registered.

"No matter what the result is, myself and Clarissa agree that if the decision was democratic, we should be most happy. I join her as a friend and colleague first, Leuthanian second, Woodsteasian third, and opponent as the very last."

0150 hours- Sat 22 March
The elections have closed, and the 67 polling stations are secured by police as armoured security vans deliver the boxes to their District Counting Centre for the first count. The first count is scheduled at 0500 hours at all 5 District Counting Centres where adjudicators from The Electoral Society are attending, with the Senior Justices of Cezary, Libetta, and Woodstead making visits throughout the count.

Postal votes counted for 88% of votes, and they have all been distributed from the Democratic Office at all District Assemblies to their DCCs without any infiltration.

The Electoral Society tell us that the votes were counted once at the stations, and if the totals weigh up to those in DCC, a second DCC count will make sure. If the first count in stations differs to that of DCCs, a third DCC count will be summoned.

Morgantown and Friendgate Districts submit their counts; Garvey, Kinnon and Southport are yet to submit, but are reportedly close. Results expected to reach the officials by 1850 tonight, for the live announcements at 2000.

1954 hours- Sun 23 March
The Electoral Reform Society, at 1942 hours, was reached by the adjudicator for Garvey, then by that in Kinnon at 1944 hours. Southport have reported a recount of the last 127 pieces after a reader failure, which will reportedly be finished by 2010 at the latest.

2000 hours- Sun 23 March
Libettan emergency services are ready for dispatch because of fears of rioting and brutality either way the vote goes. We are told that the two campaign leaders are having a kind conversation in the green room, and that the results are still flooding in from Southport. No parties, apart from the adjudicators and counters have knowledge of the DCC figures, yet.

President Moore has appeared at the Leuthanian Panel for the unveiling of results tonight, alongside First Minister Fritton, Prime Minister Quay, and Minister to the Leuthania, Khan. NeTV's Political Affairs Correspondent, Mick Hopkins and The University of Morgantown's Senior Social Sciences Faculty Leader, Imogen Desai are the hosts, and the programme is not short of glamorous pre-ambling montage.

2008 hours- Sun 23 March
We have not been told the result, and will find out at the same time as viewers at home, but we have been informed that the numbers for Southport have been forwarded, and full results have been passed to the campaign leaders who are still behind the scenes. It must be difficult with the two leaders preparing two speeches for either outcome.

2021 hours- Sun 23 March
2020 was the time scheduled, it seems. In case you were not watching or listening, the referendum results show a clean win of 81.7% voting for an independence. The Panel have clapped for the 690,000 votes for independence.

0004 hours- Mon 24 March
President Moore has travelled home from Morgantown's Governor House after the result. The full transition of law will be on 1st January 2017 for currency, whilst statute power and constitutional changes will be implemented as soon as possible, we are told by the President. The flagpoles for Leuthania on Unity Mall fly at half mast, while the Woodsteasian flag at the National Senate has been carefully wrapped. We asked First Minister Fritton what would happen to the flag.

"The flag is symbolic of our heritage, even part of the present and future now. We are hoping to keep it at a respected museum as a sign of friendship to the Woodsteasian Republicans, Libettans, and Cezarians. Principally, we are ethnically Woodsteasian, and can trace all history of civilisation in Leuthania back to Woodstead's Duke Leuthanaer. We have Woodstead at heart, but not at the legislative any longer after June."

That is right, Leuthania will now be undergoing constitutional change, as well The Republic of Woodstead.

In the wake of the diplomatic row between Aquitayne and the Dangish Empire, along with the Blackhelm Confederacy, United Kingdom troops are preparing to move into the now-defunct states of Pangus and Prudenesia to begin the humanitarian operations planned and approved by both the House of Parliament and the Asian Federation of Nations Senate.

The King, due to the impasse, has recently pushed a revised foreign policy bill through the Royal Foreign Policy Advisory and the House of Parliament, which is called the Reich Credenda. It lays out Aquitayne's current goals as a nation and mostly states that the preservation of neutrality between the Astyrian Trade Organisation and the Eastern Astyrian Treaty Alliance is paramount, alongside the preservation of the monarchies across the region.

These policy shifts are seen as having come in direct relation to the Dangish Empire's response to the humanitarian operation, where analyst David Myerson states, "This was a huge blow to Aquitaynian-Symphonian political power across the Mare Ferum. If they can't keep the Dangish Empire, or the EATA for that matter, out of their affairs, who's to say we have our own affairs at all?"

It's no secret that the United Kingdom was furious over what they perceived as an EATA intrusion into internal affairs, stating bluntly in a letter to the Dangish government that, "The imposition of Dangish military resources to the United Kingdom Joint Military Operational Theater is disrespectful and an insult to His Majesty, His court, the men and women of the Aquitaynian Armed Services,

and the citizenry of Aquitayne".

Now that the epoch of the tensions has passed, the threat of war looming over eastern Astyria no longer seems as paramount. However, there are reports from inside the Aquitaynian military stating that the cooperation between the Dangish armed services and Aquitayne's are not going as smoothly as one could hope. With EATA observers to be taking part in the self-determination of both nations, it is expected that there will be increased pressure from the Dangish government to hold elections within the year, regardless of the status of the archipelago.

Aquitaynian and Symphonian troops have already taken positions along the border to make the push inland to assess the true nature of the damage wrought by the fall of the Spartanians, and it is reported that as per the new Tel al-Riyah Pact that Riysian soldiers will be accompanying UK forces in the pacification of the insurgency on the island.
