CITY FINAL SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 29, 2013Shocking Chemical Attack Against Indigenous Population
by Atia Julius
UNDISCLOSED LOCATION, Zwischen Ozean Colony, Empire of Common Territories-- In the TECT colony area occupied by a native people known as the Jatzi, the Empire of Common Territories' military forces have apparently struck at local rebellion with chemical weapons, causing shocking numbers of civilian casualties.
The Jatzi have been protesting against TECT rule since the early twentieth century, being pushed off their sacred lands to expand farming territory. In spite of peaceful protests initially heavy handed suppression including use of troops pushed the Jatzi to defend themselves with force, albeit only against military and government targets.
This makes the recent chemical attack against both a village and a White Cross facility all the more shocking. The question by White Cross officials as to whether or not the TECT army knew that they were there is "...irrelevant," according to regional White Cross representative Simeon Kamenev. "The sheer amount of collateral damage makes it beyond collateral and is suggestive of genocide; we have no alternative but to submit our concerns to international organizations. The loss of life is tragic beyond words, of both the Jatzi population in the area and of volunteers from our organization. This is a very terrible loss."
White Cross officials are at this time speaking with representatives of the World Assembly, the Transversal Red Cross, and the Cornellian Peace Organization. Evidence includes feed from a camera which captured the last moments of the encampment of refugees and White Cross personnel before their terrible deaths following the chemical shelling.
