Shocking Chemical Attack Against Indigenous Population

by Atia Julius

UNDISCLOSED LOCATION, Zwischen Ozean Colony, Empire of Common Territories-- In the TECT colony area occupied by a native people known as the Jatzi, the Empire of Common Territories' military forces have apparently struck at local rebellion with chemical weapons, causing shocking numbers of civilian casualties.

The Jatzi have been protesting against TECT rule since the early twentieth century, being pushed off their sacred lands to expand farming territory. In spite of peaceful protests initially heavy handed suppression including use of troops pushed the Jatzi to defend themselves with force, albeit only against military and government targets.

This makes the recent chemical attack against both a village and a White Cross facility all the more shocking. The question by White Cross officials as to whether or not the TECT army knew that they were there is "...irrelevant," according to regional White Cross representative Simeon Kamenev. "The sheer amount of collateral damage makes it beyond collateral and is suggestive of genocide; we have no alternative but to submit our concerns to international organizations. The loss of life is tragic beyond words, of both the Jatzi population in the area and of volunteers from our organization. This is a very terrible loss."

White Cross officials are at this time speaking with representatives of the World Assembly, the Transversal Red Cross, and the Cornellian Peace Organization. Evidence includes feed from a camera which captured the last moments of the encampment of refugees and White Cross personnel before their terrible deaths following the chemical shelling.
"The three articles of Civil Service faith: it takes longer to do things quickly, it's far more expensive to do things cheaply, and it's more democratic to do things in secret." - Jim Hacker "Yes Minister"

Extreme war violence and episodes of graphic violence. Readers are cautioned, advised, and warned of graphic material. What takes place are the events before the OP.

The Jatzi Insurgency and the Connection

What is morality? Is it doing what you think is right? Or is doing something you dislike because it is necessary or it's for the better good? The Jatzi tribe or now known around the Empire as the 'Jatzi Connection', struggles with this dilemma on a daily basis. The Jatzi have lived in the southeast of the Zwischen Ozean Colony for centuries -- they welcomed TECT adventurers in 1812 as honored guests; they bestowed gifts of rich vegetation and cultural art that resembled signs of peaceful harmony and nature. But the Jatzi had unknowingly welcomed their conquerors. The TECT adventurers we claiming newly explored lands they discovered in the Galbador landmass; the local area intrigued them and by chance they discovered rich lands and the natives who lived there. It had been a year since the first explorers reached the eastern coastline -- unknowingly discovering the largest lake in the region and discovering a trade highway still used by shipping today. Exploring military commanders soon called this newly claimed land 'Zwischen Ozean' or "Two Oceans", meaning Between Oceans in German because they thought they discovered a snakelike landmass between oceans; in reality, the land they carved out was a strip between the ocean and the largest lake in the region. The Jatzi soon realized that welcoming the strange men was a mistake that would lead them to their doom.

By 1910, almost a hundred years later, the tribe was openly against the TECT government because of disputes and and acts the Jatzi saw as invasive; farmers bought out their land without permission, the government kept a tight leash on the Jatzi, and they were treated negatively by the government for refusing to be recognized as TECT citizens. They staging protests, meeting and complaining to local and national officials, and stood up to police/military personnel peacefully. The boiling point was reached in 1996 when farmer companies intruded into remaining lands considered sacred to the Jatzi; the military was called in to keep the peace and eventually a shoot out commenced. Out gunned and out numbered, the Jatzi men who were said to have started the gunfire, were killed without any military losses. The act was seen as an act of war and since then the Jatzi have waged 'Püha sõda' or Holy War against the TECT government and military. Civilians were not specifically targeted but some have been killed in the crossfire. Military bases, facilities, personnel, and other installations have been their main target to avoid killing civilians. Since 1996, insurgent attacks and gun battles have ravaged the the southeastern section of the colony; leading to the colony's 2005 Congressional vote to become a Colonial State being denied because of internal fighting. The insurgency has since seen growth with other natives joining the Jatzi cause (leading to the name 'Jatzi Connection') and protests over the conflict (from both Commoner and Jatzi civilians) have been seen in the colony.

Somewhere South East, Zwischen Ozean Colony
The Empire of Common Territories
The previous day

Overlooking the valley of trees bellow him, Aman Kifle watched the sun as it slowly drifted away from atop a cliff. The sun reminded him of God's blanket when he was a child -- providing warmth to people; growing up during the beginning of the insurgency's start, Aman grew up despising TECT and any Commoner he saw; he eventually became quiet racist towards Commoners; even if they were white as well, it is clear the two had clearly different physical appearances. He knew there were good ones still out there but their government and ancestors are shameful and the people today rarely showed difference -- in fact, some aid workers from the White Cross (TECT version of Red Cross) had arrived earlier in the day to provide some assistance, so there is evidence that not all Commoners are terrible. But as Chief of his tribe now, Amen simply couldn't forget his people's struggle and all they've lost in this war. His chief ancestor's spirits, including his late father, all run through his being demanding freedom from TECT tyranny and revenge for those murdered in acts of injustice. Aman stood up from his seat on the ledge, patting his robes and pants to clean himself off, adjusted his camo design bullet proof vest and set off back to camp. He threw the strap of his AK-74 over his shoulder and made his way down back but before that -- stopping to turn back and look at the falling sun once more. It reminded Aman now as an adult of darkness rising and the light falling.

Aman hiked back through forests and tall grass and eventually made it back to his camp within a half hour, a short walk really to him, and was greeted by a group of children playing soccer in the grass clearing. The group of children were kicking the ball around before running up to Aman in excitement to greet their grandfather like role model back to the camp -- even though he was in his early forties and barely showed signs of graying hair; his full beard was still mostly brown like his moderate length hair. He gave them a smile back and patted them on the head, but he hated to see them in a place like this. A War Camp. Families did not belong on the field of battle let alone the bases of war. Some men simply could not refuse to leave their children and women at home. Aman thought them fools for endangering their family's lives. The War Camp was to wage war not set up a village after all. Aman made his way through the children, over a hill, and arrived to the makeshift tent town. Large and small fabric tents littered around the large area and people were spread out all over in the woods, the clearings, and by the grass. Men were maintaining their weapons by cleaning them with lengths of fabric knots and oil; women were off preparing meals, cleaning, and caring for their children. The Jatzi Connection easily had five hundred fighters in this war camp -- Aman guessed there was a total of a thousand though based on the large families present; so much for not being a village. Aman walked further untl reaching his tent; a large two roomed tent that served as both his living space in one room and a big meeting room with a central fire for war council -- the tent was of course segregated a bit from the others (which were already spread out as it was). Aman was greeted by his tribe folk as we walked by, women, men, and children who all addressed him as Chief. He pulled up the covering fabric to reveal the inside of his tent, greeted by a unfamiliar guest he learned would arrive today. The young man had been reading from the Holy Bible as he waited for the Chief to return.

"Ahh welcome back Chief." the young white male spoke up as he noticed Amen walk in.

"Thank you visitor. But it is I who should welcome you to my home -- and thanking you of course." the chief replied in the best English he could muster -- also fighting the deep rooted hatred for Commoners as he spoke. The man who sat in his tent, waiting for him, simply called himself Adam; he wanted to keep his identity a secret for now in case he was actually caught and arrested by military or police officials. It's better to be safe then sorry when defying his nation's armed forces. The young white Commoner was the leader of the local White Cross station in the south east of the colony and was an aspiring liberal political speaker. Adam disagreed with his country when it came to the Jatzi people -- a people oppressed by the government since day two of their relationship. It was well known that Commoners were not safe in this part of the colony, nor were they allowed to aid the Jatzi as it could be viewed as treasonous behavior. In an act of defiance against both his government and bosses back in the mainland, Adam would not abandon these poor people. So Adam had been secretly planning to make missions to this camp to provide medical aid, food, water, and other humanitarian assistance. Adam was keeping his hands near the fire now to keep them warm -- winter was fast approaching and Fall was definitely upon them.

"Now. What can I do for someone like yourself Commoner?" Aman asked, sitting down opposite to the young man by the fire. "I trust that you are part of the group that promised aid to my people?"

"Yes sir Chief." Adam sharply replied, not wanting to be grouped with Commoners the man despised or to his government. "I and my group have brought much in food, water, and medicine for your people. With your permission, I would proudly start administering medical treatment handing out supplies. I've dreamed of only helping the people who are in need of assistance and your people im sure do not deserve this treatment by my government"

"That is most generous of you lad. It is interesting to see some of your people aren't as bad as I have been experienced too. You may begin your goal if you wish -- I shall not stop you if you wish to aid us in our survival."

"Thank you! Adam said standing up fast. "I'll immediately get my team to work -- we will hopefully be done and out of your hair by tomorrow if that's alright."

With a nod from Aman, Adam left the tent to get back to his team of volunteers he brought with him, the twenty volunteers were gathered nearby and were being watched with great suspicion by Jatzi men with assault rifles. Similar to him, these volunteers were mostly of young white Christian based adults and all in their twenties. Each of them had carried heavy supplies that they were tasked to lug up to the camp. Looking at the camp, it was a tent city spread out around the area so spreading food and blankets would be their first priority. Many Jatzi had been spread out in the forest of trees and some in minor clearings; everyone was spread out widely to avoid being spotted by aircraft and to not be one big target for TECT military forces too. The Jatzi were indeed grateful of the supplies and medical treatment the volunteers provided -- they were even confused and had strange feelings about being helped by Commoners -- their mortal enemies of all people. Small groups passed out fresh food and blankets tent by tent, family by family, person by person; the medical team worked by fire pits to clean up wounds and treat illness in everyone that lined up to receive attention. The group's and Adam's goal was being accomplished better than Adam had dared hoped for. They would need to leave by tomorrow night though or else they'd be pushing their luck with both the natives and their country -- they're an aid group not providing war materials but it is still very risky to be caught giving aid to these people. It also wasn't very safe filming and taking notes on the aid operation; his feed was fed to a source somewhere in New Edom along with saving the memory on the camera. Adam looked through the now darkened cloudy night at the people being treated -- especially at a young boy who had his leg blown off, probably by a grenade or landmine. He thought they all looked rough but not like he was warned they'd be like. Adam grew up learning about how these people shot up government buildings, shot at police and troops, and performed insurgent attacks on military bases and military units -- it was almost two different faces he was seeing now because he could see these people performing these acts but believed that they were to innocent to actually want to wage warfare. He had no doubt in his heart though that he had made the right choice helping these people -- labeled terrorists or not.

Meanwhile....

Silently above, a micro UAV glided below the clouds without so much as a sound. It was giving valuable thermal imagery to commanders and the approaching Ghoulish Army that was now approaching the flanks of the war camp. The Royal Guard 169th Infantry Battalion was tasked with securing the AO (Area of Operation) a half hour after the assault began. The well hidden M777's were stationed ten something miles away ready for their fire orders. But the men now less then a few clicks away from the camp had penetrated this close without trouble. The forest where Alpha Platoon was awaiting further orders was dark; so dark that light barely illuminated the light fog now forming. The hidden Royal Guard force had stealthily made their way as close as they were told to be to the war camp in preparation for the assault. A single soldier raised a fist to order the halt, stopping the force like one machine. The soldier was wearing a heavily camouflaged uniform, holding an AR-Scorpion, and blended into his dark wooden environment like he was a tree himself -- his men included. The man turned his head back to inspect his platoon -- all similar looking dark uniformed men were present, ballistic mask and all. The commanders own mask looked the same as his comrades which was standard uniformity at work. The silent, camouflaged force blended in and awaited for their next signal to begin. The commander pressed his flat hand against his mask to signal to everyone to put on their final piece of equipment -- the custom fitting gas mask that finished the sealed off uniform they wore. The elite fighting force was ready for clean up.

Back at the Artillery 5th platoon station, similar soldiers manned the M777s. Only not armed with rifles, these Royal Guards were armed with their more then worthy howitzer. The firing commander was staring at his watch waiting for the exact second to give the order to begin; like the other batteries around them who were awaiting as well -- spooky enough that they all looked alike but acted alike too. The firing commander, along with other commanders raised their arms up high in preparation to signal. It was a standard minute notice. 5....4....3....2...1. Almost in machine unison, the batteries fired their first rounds into the night time sky. The crews rushed into further action, reloading and firing as part of one big cog part of the entire artillery unit machine. The ammo fetchers grabbed from the organized stack of shells nearby -- one by one the shells disappeared, all had the same skull in bones symbol on front of them. These shells has chemical warheads. Back at the camp, it took a few moments to hear the first boom of the cannons. Like dogs hearing a threat, the men instantly looked up to investigate from what they were doing. They knew almost at once it was an artillery bombardment but had no idea why they didn't see shells impacting the camp; a few thought they weren't the target at all. Rising from ground hugging dives, the fighters rushed to their tents to grab their gear in anticipation of an attack or to go attack themselves. The aid group was simply scared and didn't know what to do, it didn't help that they were now at gunpoint by several fighters who instantly accused them as spies. Aman came out and tried to reason with the men, hollering reason at them and convincing the aid group wasn't what caused the incident occurring. Booms were still echoing from a far distance and it there was no nearby hits to hear of. With everyone confused and arguing, no one noticed the approaching foe.

The TECT Armed Forces called it 'Rauchen Plague'. In English this meant 'Cloudy Plague'; a very nasty domestic form of Sarin gas the TECT Armed Forces developed in the past. It had been customized from normal Sarin gas in the sense that added lethal chemicals made it spread through the air faster without wind and created a foggy colored cloud affect. Chances are you are already infected if you actually see the cloud up close because the Sarin gas isn't limited to the physically seen clouds. Many of the fighters turned to see the barely illuminated clouds slowly approaching the main camp area. The outskirts had already been engulfed in the suffocating fog and families run from behind it towards the center of the camp; wives carrying infants, children running with their siblings, and fighters running through it. Aman didn't understand what was happening at all; neither did anyone else as they gave puzzling looks at each other and the now surrounding fog. What they didn't realize was that the earlier booms were shots and impacts of the shells hitting the flanks of the camp, cutting off all chances of escape. A shell suddenly exploded a few dozen feet from Aman launching a few people into the air dead; smokey fog quickly followed along with other impacts getting closer and closer to the center. Aman, dazed and stunned from being knocked backwards, got to his knees and tried to look around. What he saw instantly assured his fear and terrified him. He saw people wondering in the smoke aimlessly; one by one people had been falling over to the ground even before the impacts close by had hit. The only thing going through Aman's mind was what in the fuck was going on. Aman could only hear coughing, cries, and yelling -- but that started to fade quickly. He looked around more and saw people on the floor drooling and throwing up; he saw others loosing their dinners through both the mouth and anuses, others pissed themselves too; He saw many with blank faces simply twitching and violently jerking around. Others around him had simply gone limp and weren't moving.

Aman tried to move but his body was getting limp too; he suddenly pissed himself without realizing it and he began crying in pain. Throwing up and beginning to twitch himself. He looked over to a child who he had patted hours ago, he was now covered in mucus, vomit, piss, defecation, and he was now lying blank faced having violent spasms. He went still within seconds. Aman, now covered in his own bodily fluids and violently jerking while lying flat on his front side was full of fear and his mind was going blank. He was starting to lose consensuses when he could see tall fuzzy men approaching. He could barely make them out because of his failing vision and cloud smoke but he could clearly see what they were doing. Sounds of single shots rang over the eerie silence. Finally, one of the men walked up to him and the child, as the child was still twitching, the man took aim with his rifle and shot once in the child's forehead, ending his suffering. Aman managed to look up now at the man after witnessing the child's execution. He was able to make out a dark uniform and black long face before the gun barrel in his face exploded, ending Aman's life. The man, the same Royal Guard commander earlier, raised his hand to his earpiece; "Sector 25B secured. Moving forward to sector 26. Over." he said in a cold dark voice, speaking in German. The camera in the camera's hand, now limp from his death, captured the scene. The soldier walked up and kicked the body over and fired twice into his chest to be sure he was dead. He not only noticed the man looked to be Commoner, but he also had a strange camera. He called it in and that is when he cut the feed to the camera while ripping it from the dead man's grasp.

Mcnernians

Griffindon
Prime Ministers Residence

The Prime Minister and the Crisis Comittee of the Cabinet had gone into an Emergency session to discuss the situation in the TECT colony, the business of putting down colonial rebellions was not unknown to the McNernian Empire but the Empire tended to air on the more Roman set of Imperial values of if you conform you were a member of the culture and that sort of thing no questions would be asked. But well the Commoners in distant Cornellia had been perhaps following the route of forcing them into a empire at the point of a gun. True the Mcnernians were guilty of some of that but when it came down to it the TECT had more of it in its record.

Now the question was, what in G-ds name was the Empire to do about the situation, the business of the use of chemical weapons was never a good thing. That was the question on the minds of the members of the Cabinet. One thing was clear.

"There should be no intervention."

That came from the Cabinet Minister Timothy Fremont. He was adamant, people were getting tired of Mcnernians dying but the principles that McNernia had. "Must be upheld with the blood of our warriors." This came from the Foreign Minister Tyler Baxter sitting at another part of the table. The Defense Minister chimed in, "Well we could intervene Prime Minister, a Corps or maybe a Army or something like that 3rd Army Group is sucking up resources in its hunting of the MNPLA. Ever did the MNPLA hang over the country like some sort of cloud of red. The SAS were out there and the rest of Special Forces, always taking on the Communist insurgent who attacked rural villages and burned schools sometimes.

The eyes of the cabinet were on the Prime Minister, he looked around. "What are the people saying?" The Interior Minister looked back at his boss, "Well I do belive the people are upset about it, attacks on native populations dont go over well." The Defense Minister chimed in, "Perhaps we could help TECT with their rebellion, I mean suggest alternative methods, arrest the White Cross, shut it down for helping enemy combatants. That is what I would ask of the Interior Ministry." The Interior Minister nodded in affirmation.

 Greetings

We have seen the problems you have had with the Jatzi Connection, so called. And well we would like to offer our COIN experience. Troops cannot be gaurnteed nor can advisors. But we would like to also express our shock at the deployment of chemical weapons against insurgent, our own operational experience has not required the deployment of such weapons. Perhaps we could compare notes?

As Commander Michelle Peters scanned through the memmo, she elected to lean back in her chair.

Chemical weapons, unbelievable. How did we not see this coming?

There was a sharp knock and without looking up Commander Peters shouted

"Enter."

The door opened and a young soldier walked in. The soldier was wearing his Class A uniform, with a black tunic and black trousers. A thick red bloodstripe ran down the sides. Two vertical bars were sown onto the collars. on his beret, there was a single brass grenade pinned to his badge. Peters did not smile at the man or even look at him, instead preferring to look at her memo.

"Is there anyway we could have predicted this attack, Captain?"

Captain Kenny Richards shifted in his boots. Although he had spent nearly a decade in Uniform (about half of that time was as a Grenadier), he had only been assigned to the spooks for three months and in that time he had done very little to impress Commander Peters.

"No Ma'm. As a matter of fact, the only reason we heard of it is because our contact in the White Cross sent us video footage. The ECT obviously aren't going to report it on their news."

Commander Peters tossed the memo onto the desk.

"Have a seat, Captain."

Captain Richards looked around the room for chairs but failed to find any.

"Ma'm, there aren't any chairs in here."

"That's because, Captain, your failure to see this coming has cost you the ability to sit down."

"Ma'm, we had no way of seeing this coming-"

"Captain Richards, you will remain quiet. Spook Central is furious about this. Suppose ECT were to shift through the bodies and find some Grenadiers? What would you do then?"

Captain Richards felt himself shrink after that remark. There's no way. All of our grenadiers are protected by international law and are covered as Medics They all know the risks.

"Ma'm-"

Peters leaned back in her chair and tossed a manilla envelope on the desk.

"Because of the chemical attack, spook central sent you this. Authorization to act. Move your cells into position and carry out. Here are your updated orders. I assume you know what will happen if you are caught or killed."

Captain Richards saluted and exited the room. He walked down the gangway and into his loaned stateroom. He changed out of his Class A and into his battle dress. He checked his small bag to make sure all of his supplies were there. He sighed and sat down to open his orders.

From: Spook Central
To: Captain Kenneth F. Richards, 3rd Grenadiers

You are hereby ordered to report to the White Cross encampment in the Zwischen Ozean Colony where you will rondesvous with our contact there. Simeon Kamenev. The password will be "And I looked, and behold, a pale horse" and the counter password will be "his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him." There you will briefed on the current situation. Once you have debriefed with Kamenev, you will begin Operation Red Horse. You are to follow the White Cross and avoid any unauthorized entanglements with enemy soldiers.

Captain Richards knew what the rest of the message said. The warning about what would happen to him if he was captured. He was a military officer who held a commission. He was protected by the Geneva Convention, but he had heard rumors of what happened to soldiers who were captured by the ECT. There was a knock on the door.

"Enter."

The door opened a smidge and a young female sailor popped her head in.

"Captain Richards, sir? Your helicopter will be here in five minutes. If you'll come with me."

Captain Richards grabbed his bag and exited. The two walked to the control room. Captain Norman of the Crowspiracy Navy nodded.

"Captain, I'd grab a seat, we're about to surface the boat."

Captain Richards sat down in a chair next to Captain Norman, while the female sat down at her radio station.

"Up Periscope."

The periscope lowered and Captain Norman looked through the periscope searching for surface contacts.

"Sonar, any contacts?"

"No, sir."

" Down Periscope. Helm, surface the ship." Captain Norman sat down in his chair as a brief alarm rang through the ship. The boat went up at an angle before coming to the surface.

"Captain Norman, the helicopter is here."

Captain Rodgers stood up and climbed up the ladder. He looked up to the White Cross helicopter that was waiting for him. He buckled himself into the harness and the helicopter lifted him off.

When he reached the cabin of the helicopter, Captain Richards was met with a man with a very stern looking faces.

"Why the long face?"

"We do not appreciate having a military soldier attached to the organization."

Captain Richards frowned. "I may wear a military uniform, but I am a medically trained soldier."

The Captain was not lying. While it was true he was a member of the Crowspiracy Special Forces, he was trained as a paramedic. A paramedic who knew how to call in air strikes and launch guerrilla campaigns, but a paramedic all the same."

"Why volunteer now?"

"Well, I was waiting for my new assignment-"

"Surely heard of the recent chemical attacks on our facility-"

"Indeed I have. I was briefed on it on the boat."

"So your country's sudden dcecision to participate in the humanitarian effort is a coincidence."

"Indeed it is."

The man smiled as he looked out of the window.

"Tell me Captain, do you read the bible?"

Captain Richards smiled.

"Indeed I do."

"I was reading it just before the attack. There is a certain passage of Revelations that stood out to me."

"Oh yea?"

"Revelations Chapter six, verse eight. And I looked, and behold a pale horse-"

Captain Richards smiled, " and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him."

The man smiled "My name is Simeon Kamenev, we have a great deal to discuss."

Empire City, Homeland
Emperor's Palace

"Dammit."

A sigh from the strained young man in a luxurious office. A sandstone custom design desk and black leather desk chair; soft black leather chair and couch in front of the desk -- surrounded by bookshelves filled with thick books. The young man dressed in a luxurious suit with an open file and his computer screen attached to the desk bright with light -- more information and news reports.

"I want a good explanation cousin Charles." the young man said.

"Cousin I.." He responded before being cut off by the young man.

"That is 'your majesty' to you Minister of the Armed Forces Charles." the young man cut off Prince Charles with detest in his voice.

"Your Majesty." the older man responded, he disliked being talked down to by someone half his age but... No one talks wrong to the Emperor without good reason, family or not. "I cleared this with GEN Alphonse that all procedures were taken to keep this as low profile as possible."

"Then you have to explain to me Minister how a story was leaked to the Edomites -- with fucking video taken!" The young Emperor was annoyed now, he didn't like mishaps happening under his watch. "I am clearly watching a child being shot in the head by a figure and proceeding to shoot another man in the head. So please tell me how in all senses were precautions taken?"

"Sir, we've identified the source from the video from the site. It appeared that White Cross workers were there and were the ones taping the feed. We have since identified them all and we believe there is no actual proof visible in the video that we were the part responsible."

"Oh? I can see that there isn't any proof in the video, but these people got a scoop and explanation from somewhere and that somewhere is from these dead workers." the Emperor was beginning to calm back down. "What is the progress of the cyber cover up of this story?"

"Your majesty. We've since targeted sites portraying the story and made sure domestic news organizations kept away from it." Charles responded, looking unfinished.

"Aaaaand? You forgot the progress of that progress report." the Emperor replied sharp as a knife.

"Well... We have managed to shut down many sites but there are also some that have either fought off the cyber attacks or have quickly brought the site back up. But we were sure to keep our involvement safely deniable. The location of the stage was no where near the country and a fringe group has already been made the fall group."

"Ughh. Fine, it's good enough. They can't prove it was the government and im sure the cleanup operation is underway?"

"Yes your majesty. The cleanup team cleared the area and has already collected evidence, bodies, and other intelligence. Clean up of the environmental damage and other damages is being done as well. It should be clean within hours of chemicals. We have also prepared the story of the 'actual' assault being done that killed these people, if making it classified was not enough."

"Good." The Emperor replied with a better tone then when the private meeting started. "Has the action I ordered been done concerning the White Cross?"

"Yes your majesty. The group that was discovered at the site by clean up teams was from a local outpost. They seemed to have broken orders and snuck into the war camp before our own forces surrounded the area. The teams didn't discover war supplied on them but we did find other supplies."

"Have any of the workers been identified or the outpost they belong too?"

"No your majesty -- they kept from identifying their names but their faces have been seen so I have already instructed orders to keep the families satisfied and quiet."

"OK then. If anything comes to shove, I have plenty of alternatives in case this situation is not resolved." the Emperor replied while closing the file report. "You are dismissed cousin."

After the minister left, the Emperor sat in silence thinking over the situation. Self analyzing and research was a talent and it only empowered his intelligence. He knew clear and well he was in a political nightmare. Although the Emperor was confident he made the best military choice once confronted with the situation, that didn't mean it was morally correct or wrong. He exhaled a deep sigh and knew that nature had fucked him over with how things were set up. These parents are idiots. Why bring kids and women to a war camp? Why did aid workers have to be stupid enough to go to a war zone too? he rubbed a hand over his forehead to relieve the frustration. If it's one thing Emperor JC hated about humanity -- it was when both rationality and emotion are excused rather then one or the other or even both being used. It was only good luck that saved his country from leaving visible evidence that night. No amount of preparation would have stopped the unknowable or controllable. All he had to do now was make sure to over check the military presence and leave it to commanders from there; thank goodness the military situation already called for extra presence long before this incident.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs for The Empire of Common Territories

To: The World Community
From: The Minister of Foreign Affairs
Subject: Suspected Gas Attack

Dear world community and concerned others,

The Empire of Common Territories boldly stands up to this outwardly lie. The TECT government denies such allegations that a chemical attack took place on our lands and that it was committed by the TECT Armed Forces. It is true that we have been for some time now facing insurgent activity in the Zwischen Ozean Colony; these insurgents of terrorist origin have killed civilians and targeted Commoners for decades now. So it is in the best interest of the people of TECT and the TECT government that an aggressive stance towards insurgent groups is held. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs refutes the New Edomite newspaper, which has a history towards targeting TECT interests.

The White Cross, a government mandated aid provision organization, shall be questioned about this accusation and the local representative Simeon Kamenev shall be recalled by government leaders for questioning concerning this new accusation -- this said accusation is now under investigation by the TECT Congress, military officials, and the Emperor himself has assured the Ministry that he will look into the matter. TECT urges that all concerned nations, people, and organizations keep rationality in mind and think clearly before acting. The Jatzi tribal group and ancestral citizens are not being targeted; even if some in their cultural background decide to wage a holy war against their government. The TECT government refutes these accusations of a genocidal attack on civilians and has no knowledge of White Cross operations in dangerous Jatzi cultural lands. Thank you.

Sincerely,
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of TECT

Crowspiracy, I am currently deciding to allow or disallow your posted actions. As they interfere with the obvious fact that I did not give you permission to post something happening in my country. Further to which, I am unsure if you are targeting the national capital or the colony capital of Jacobson.

Given the Emperor's comment about trying to take the video footage of the attack off the internet, I'm assuming that the Norvenians could have gotten their hand on the video just by open-source cyberintelligence. If this is inaccurate, I'll remove my post. Thanks!

Chancellor House, Astor-of-Stone, Commonwealth of Norvenia

"Is this confirmed?"

"To my satisfaction, yes," replied Rebecca Kaminsky. The director of the National Intelligence Service sat two seats to the left of the Norvenian chancellor, and her pale face floated, as if disembodied, above the high collar of her black paramilitary uniform. The secret meeting was being held deep in the bowels of Chancellor House, far from the wood panelling and stained-glass windows. The key players in the Norvenian executive branch sat in a sealed room lit by the dim glow of dozens of three-dimensional holographic projections, which filled the air above the central table and around the perimeter of the chamber with a dancing maze of shapes and colors. Now, Kaminsky tapped a control, and one of those projections resolved itself into a news report; another showed a soundless version of the original footage of the attack. "The Fineberg Times openly reported this on Sunday. The original footage showed up on a variety of websites, mostly in Cornellia but outside of TECT controlled territory. Websites that show the footage have shown a worrying tendency to go dark."

"Cyberwarfare?" Malcolm Griffiths cast a sharp glance up at Kaminsky, green eyes flashing from behind heavy brows. The director felt a sudden spike of anxiety: this new chancellor was less predictable than Gwillem Thomas had been, less cautious. There was some brooding anger deep in Malcolm Griffith's bones, well-hidden most of the time, but all too visible at moments like these. From that one glance, Kaminsky knew with utter certainty that Griffiths would like nothing better to see the heads of the entire TECT regime mounted on stakes in the middle of Edwards Plaza.

But that was hardly realistic, so Rebecca Kaminsky merely replied to the question which she had actually been asked. "In a certain sense," she agreed cautiously. "I'd call it more of a cover-up, and not a particularly good one at that. This is a major case of trying to close the barn door after the horse has bolted." The intelligence director shrugged. "At any rate, we have the footage on secure government servers now. TECT's cyberwarfare division is good, but it's not remotely good enough to hack our system without us realizing it. The evidence is safe." Kaminsky paused delicately. "The question now is what we ought to do with it."

"We have to issue a statement," Amelia O'Donnel immediately declared, leaning forward urgently across the table. "If we stay silent on this, it'll be a disaster for our credibility across the whole Aurora-Cornellia-Pardes regional zone."

"A statement," Malcolm Griffiths murmured, voice harsh. He stabbed a finger at the holographic projection showing the footage. "What kind of statement do you think represents an appropriate response to that?"

O'Donnel studied the young chancellor for a moment, and then replied unfazed, her tone even. "We refute the credibility of the TECT regime's denial in light of the footage. We make the footage public - put it up on the Foreign Office website behind five layers of NIS-encrypted firewalls, to make sure that TECT can't hack us to try to take it down."

"If they did try that, it'd be an open act of cyberwarfare anyway," observed Frederick Vandercreuse, the Norvenian military's highest officer. He spread his scarred hands. "A direct assault on this government. It would be a bigger diplomatic disaster for them than the original attack."

"Exactly," O'Donnel agreed. "So we deny their claim of innocence, present our evidence in the most public way possible, and call on the international community to do the right thing and join us in demanding TECT compliance with a multinational investigation into the attack."

"And if TECT does not comply?" Kaminsky asked sharply. "Which they won't, just so we're all clear - no way in hell. What happens then?"

"We cross that bridge when we come to it," Malcolm Griffiths said heavily. "We can't back this up militarily - not with the one or two Joint Task Forces that we could spare from containing Skorzenia and stabilizing Underium - but we can consider retaliation in other ways." The chancellor nodded to O'Donnel. "For now, just say that all options are on the table in light of this government's continuing commitment to ensure the fundamental rights of every human being, across Cornellia and Aurora and beyond." Griffiths sat back, his tone grim. "That ought to get their attention."

"And then?" Rebecca Kaminsky pressed. "What happens next?"

"We wait and see," Griffiths replied simply. "That's all that we can do."

OFFICIAL COMMUNIQUE OF THE GOVERNMENT OF THE COMMONWEALTH OF NORVENIA

To: Whom It May Concern
From: The Government of the Commonwealth of Norvenia
Re.: Evidence of TECT Military Involvement in War Crimes
Encryption: Level 0

In the course of the last three days, information has become available to this government about the events in Zwischen Ozean Colony, an area claimed by the regime known as the Empire of the Common Territories. This hereditary dictatorship, recently cloaked with a rubber-stamp Congress, has a long history of hostility to the indigenous Jatzi people of Zwischen Ozean: the Jatzi refusal to accept TECT "citizenship" led them to be stripped of many of their civil rights, and the imperial regime stood by while TECT corporations bought up the Jatzi ancestral homeland for agricultural use. Since 1996, this has led to an insurgency; while civilians have suffered in the crossfire, it has not been the practice of the Jatzi insurgents to target civilians themselves.

It is now clear that the imperial military suffers from no such compunctions.

On 28 September, the TECT military launched an assault on a Jatzi encampment. Firsthand footage showing this attack has made its way to the internet, where sites that show it have been consistently hacked or shut down - likely due to the work of imperial cyberintelligence forces. However, this government has acquired the relevant evidence, and it is accessible for public viewing here, at the Commonwealth's Foreign Office website. The footage is appalling, and viewer discretion is advised.

As this video evidence clearly shows, the TECT military began their attack on the encampment - which included numerous women and children as well as armed insurgents - with an artillery barrage. The footage shows that as each shell burst, a cloud of gas was released into the air; this gas then caused the indiscriminate deaths of dozens of men, women, and children. There can be little doubt that this constitutes direct photographic evidence of chemical weapons use. Specifically, the horrific symptoms visible in the footage suggest the use of a highly potent nerve agent - a weapon of mass destruction deliberately deployed against civilians and insurgents alike, without distinction.

If there were any doubt as to who was responsible for this attack, it is put to rest by the video's final seconds, which show a man in an unmarked uniform wearing a ballistic mask (visible under his gas mask, and the trademark item of the TECT Royal Guard) and using the TECT military's standard weapons loadout. The man is seen executing survivors of the chemical weapons' effects - including a small child. The involvement of the imperial military in the murder of civilians is thus beyond doubt. There now exists direct video evidence for the TECT military's murder of unarmed civilians, both individually and by means of weapons of mass destruction.

In light of this evidence, the Commonwealth of Norvenia calls upon all governments and other international actors to join us in demanding the immediate compliance of the imperial regime with a multinational investigation into the conduct of the Commoner military, especially regarding its use of weapons of mass destruction and its direct involvement in the personal killing of children and other civilians. It is our responsibility as citizens of the world to ensure that these innocents did not die in vain, and that such atrocities will not be allowed to occur without consequences. In the face of such inhumanity, the responsibility to respond lies with all mankind.

As for this government, we will continue to press for greater transparency and accountability in the conflict in Zwischen Ozean Colony. In light of the horror of this attack, and of this government's continuing commitment to ensure the fundamental rights of every human being - across Cornellia and Aurora and beyond - we will be considering every option which could contribute to the protection of innocent lives. But ultimately, we believe that effective action in the wake of this atrocity can only be undertaken at a multinational level: only together can we wipe such horrific scenes as this from our world, and leave a safer planet for our children.

OOC: I'll read the post but no, it shouldn't be a problem. The point is that the video got out and there are several sources. A place like youtube would not have it but other fringe places would and if you managed to acquire a copy before the source was killed, then you got lucky. The whole point is that the internet is a grapevine. But I'll edit here myself if I do find anything wrong with it; there could always be a mishap because things like specific involvements could be wrong because of misread areas. For example, identifying TECT troops or knowing IC hidden info that shouldn't be known publicly (or at least with speculation like: there's good reason to suspect cyber war from me if the video is about me). Anyways, once I do read, I will get back to you.

Undisclosed Meeting Room
Empire City, Homeland
Emperor's Palace

Feet up, relaxing back in his chair, the Emperor had a piece of paper in one hand and a tablet in the other. He held them together in full view of himself. The paper was a copy of the official communique received by the foreign ministry earlier -- the tablet was linked to the Norvenian Foreign Office website where the linked video he ordered destroyed was promptly displayed. His expression was not one of anger nor was it of irritation -- it was intent, deep annalist intent based on understanding all the meaning behind the situation. His sole concentration was set on the situation. The young man still wore a dark suit but had removed the jacket and tie earlier. His dark hair was not totally bed ridden but it looked like it had not received attention since a morning ago. It seemed that he ignored the other members of the meeting that sat before him; they too were all well dressed suited men with serious expressions on their faces. Among the Emperor in the lowly lit decorated meeting room were a number of staff that including advisers, the commander of TECT's elite cyber warfare division, the secretary of defense (who is replacing the minister of the armed forces in this meeting for now), and the president of TECT Mark Hoover. All of which were quiet and waiting cautiously for the Emperor's reaction to the situation, a situation that they have a copy of in the folders in front of them.

"Your majesty?" the president spoke up finally but was careful not to sound annoyed or in a hurry. "Shouldn't we begin this meeting? You called for it after all."

The Emperor looked over and then back to his information. "Sure. Don't let me stop you gentlemen -- go ahead and discuss the situation."

"OK sir..." the president replied cautiously. "Well then. I want to know what the cyber warfare division was doing when it allowed this website to promote a video that was ordered to be destroyed. It's now plastered on a government website for crying out loud!"

"Mr. President. Please do not take this wrongly but it is not like we have been sitting on our hands every day since this video hit the web." replied an older gentleman near the Emperor. His name tag said GEN. Warfare but everyone knew that was a clear play on of words, a fake name. Even so, they all recognized him from previous meetings; they knew full well that his identity was heavily classified since he was an agent from the special forces branch of the TECT military. "You do not know the trouble it takes to scavenge the internet to find a certain video or bit of information. We have done our jobs as efficiently as possible, even if this task was handled on the lower levels of my command. I assure you sir that the job has been done for the most part."

"If that is true sir, why is there a video and information plastered on this Norvenian government site!?" the president replied sharply but calmly.

"We do not target government websites without specific order too. Some nations, weak protections or not, will retaliate if they find evidence we've been there; even if we didn't leave our traces, it would be obvious to handlers that someone broke in and trashed the site. The Norvenian site isn't unprotected either, it has plenty of layers of protection that would hardly leave room for error if someone attempted to hack into it. But unless we are given orders to, we will not attack government sites -- that is his majesty's orders after all." the shady old man explained.

"Then we can all agree here that this site needs to be brought down. We can't allow these videos to be public much longer, on the Norvenian site or other fringe areas. So I will give you an order to bring it down, im sure everyone else here will agree with me on this issue?" the president asked, looking around for support. He mostly got worried looks because everyone knew what the escalation meant, the order by the Emperor, and the knowledge that the president would have to seek approval from the Emperor for such an action. Needless to say, a few people nodded in agreement. With no word from the Emperor, the order stood and the President felt safe with the action.

"Excuse me then Mr. President, your majesty, staff. I shall make the call now to carry this order out." the old man got up to leave the room to make the call in peace.

"Hold on General." the Emperor finally spoke up in a sigh like tone. "That action wont be necessary." he finally put his legs down and got serious with the meeting.

"But your majesty!? It was your order to wipe this video and other information from the internet? We need to destroy this source in order to fulfill the order." the president spoke up, sort of annoyed with the jumping in.

"Surely my highest political adviser, you, the president will see the logic in what is going on? It is true that I wanted this information down but we were simply too late in finding it -- a single eagle cannot spot and take out all rodents in one dive now can he? If we had spotted this problem earlier, or if in fact it was not preventable and we were instead prepared, we would have had a chance. Things did not go that way now did they?" the Emperor paused as both the President and General sat down. "Think now Hoover; why would a government display up a video and information to the gas attack like it was a poster, release this statement which involves accusing us of cyber warfare in quiet terms, and yet still display this information?" the Emperor inquired while holding up both the tablet and communique copy.

It took the president a minute to realize it but he was on the same page now as the Emperor. He was in to much of rushed state to think clearly before. "It's a trap." he replied rubbing his forehead.

"Exactly people." the Emperor put down the items. "I knew full well that that the video would not be wiped out completely and that it was impossible to hide this story forever. We live in the internet age gentleman, things on the internet are naturally hard to fight. Eventually websites would protect the information but what the Norvenian government is a clever move to entrap us. The Norvenians want us to attack the site, I know an invitation when I see one. My guess is that they want to prove us to be attempting to cover up information site by site; taking down that site would make us look a boy with crumbs on our faces -- we simply cannot deny we were in the cookie jar gentlemen. Even if we could the timing is too great. So no, continue to leave the site alone and other government owned websites as well. We wont fall into this clever trap so easily -- it would be wise to leave them with as little evidence as possible." explained the Emperor.

"Then what of the call for an investigation of our military and the situation surrounding the attack?" asked the president cheaply. "We aren't going to let them come in are we?"

"Of course we aren't; don't be so snotty Hoover. They wouldn't let us investigate their military forces nor would anyone else in the same situation as both of us. We'll wait out the situation for now and keep preparing in areas that haven't been prepared already."

Finally, the Foreign Minister Lucas Nacht spoke up. "Your majesty. What did you wish to do about the McNernian communique?"

"Oh yes that." the Emperor remembered slightly of the letter. He eventually dug it out of the folder and it didn't take long to remember why he forgot about it. "Yes, well I think you can respond to that. If you don't want to you can have the staff do it. Nothing pains me more then a sender who knows little of the recipient."

"Yes your majesty. It shall be done." he replied quickly.

Dear McNernian government and Prime Minister,

With all do respect, sirs/madams, we will have to abstain from taking your advice. Im afraid a nation much younger then our very own has little room to talk about experience in the fields of Imperialism or Colonialism. If you were informed on Zwischen Ozean, you would know that militant insurgents are bent on killing innocent people in gun battles, assaults, and terrorist bombings; how do you propose you stop hellbent gunmen from killing you if brave soldiers are not allowed to do their job in protecting the people and interests of TECT? Do you wish us to let them come into offices and execute people one by one? How about everyone line up down the streets, kneeling, be ready for their peaceful gunshot to the end? No? Well that is their goal in order to win this conflict. We will not allow these terrorist insurgents to win their mission of murderous ways. We will protect our citizens, white or Jatzi, from these insurgent terrorists who are bent on annihilating TECT.

On the other subject. We do not know what your government is alluding too, but we have not used any sort of chemical weapon and have no need to either. This nation has not used chemical weapons in decades and has no such future plans to use them either; they are simply sitting ready as a deterrent weapon like all WMD under TECT control. TECT does not know of your "operational experiences" with radical insurgents attacking citizens in your nation but both the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and his majesty the Emperor are not interested in "comparing notes" with your nation on the subject. We do not see the benefit in such meetings either. Thank you.

Sincerely,
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of TECT

 Greetings

We would NOT suggest that TECT soliders not be permitted to pull the trigger, that is what the solider is for. What we would suggest is a more, subtle approach. Application of less heavy weapons perhaps although the main battle tank and heavy artillery do have a place in the fight against the terrorist. We have extensive experience in the field of fighting radical, Afrolian and Asian Terrorist alike, Communists mostly. Mobility is key and firepower, bringing firepower to bear quickly. Also you must engage in the political filed with the enemy, the reason you have been having trouble is that the natives are supporting them. Dont punish civilians it will only drive them further down the road into the hands of terrorists. We do have extensive experience, roughly 70 years on and off.

The agent used in the video was not tear-gas. It did not kill only children as CS gas does sometimes but quite, all of the people in the camp. What exactly happened according to you. Something happened. We would like to know what. And we would like to voice our support for a international investigation to clear up the matter so that all sides can be satisfied.

International waters

"Five minutes sir!" A rather unorthodox helicopter pilot shouted over the loud hum of the blades cutting through the air. His white spherical helmet covered in stickers from all the missions he had flown. His unkempt beard showed little of the military doctrine that many documentaries depicted, generally they showed muscular young men clean shaven at least. Yet this wasn't a documentary and this wasn't a scheduled flight over the ocean either. If it was, Special agent Crumbly wouldn't be getting ready to spew his last meal into a conveniently placed plastic bag, depicting a stick figure puking in some sick joke. The reason for his desire to vomit was the hurricane like conditions which bracketed the helicopter much as a dog with its jaws on a chew toy. At the moment, to Crumbly, five minutes would feel like an eternity, even as his eyes gazed out at the awesome power of nature below him. The waves shot out of the sea like an angry crowd reaching up to grip them in its icy depths. White caps splashed about seeking prey to devour, moving together as a pack of wolves would. Ominous black clouds shrouded the sky with a veil of heavy rain, every so often a flash of lightening followed by roaring thunder cascaded down from the heavens.
This orchestra of natural beauty and might though was smudged by a small group of dots which glide through the dark waters rather easily. As the chopper valiantly fights the storm the dots grow in size rapidly, one in particular has a row of lights outlining it against the black waters. Those close enough can read on its hull the name, Agencore. This vessel was an aircraft carrier, her vast flat top enough to carry numerous amounts of aircraft and ensure safe take offs alongside landings. Her large anti-aircraft batteries stood in the battle ready position even though Prinnia was in no current conflict or had any notion they would be assaulted in international waters.
She was an impressive piece of Prinnian military might, standing as a bulwark against the storm as the military chopper hovered over a large H painted into the flattop whilst being illuminated by a search light. The torrential rains nearly muted the helicopter squeaky landing and the rotors whining slowly as power was cut from them. The side door slid back and several men carrying umbrellas rushed to its side as the aircraft crew went through post landing routine.

Crumbly stuck his black hair into the rain attempting to leave the helicopter as soon as possible, he was already drenched when the umbrellas covered his head. Underneath the shield from the rain a sturdy looking man studied him carefully. Crumbly lifted his hand for a shake, his sleeves dropping from being sopping wet. Yet instead of receiving a firm handshake like he intended he got stern military salute, a smirk pursed itself on Crumbly’s lips.

“Special agent Crumbly, Welcome aboard the Prinnian vessel Agencore. I am Admiral Koing and I was told you would not be arriving until the storm had passed…I hope the ride wasn’t too bumpy.” Now it was Koing’s turn to smirk under his thick crisp white beard, fanning innocence, even though he knew fully well he had ordered Crumbly to arrive early in face of the storm.

“Oh it was most excellent, Admiral Koing. Though I find it coincidental that my flight was moved up and a storm happened to cross my path.” Crumbly stuck up his nose wondering aloud. “But I wouldn’t worry you and your crew have showed loyalty to the Reich and I have no intention of investigating you for disloyalty. I have bigger fish to fry.”

With that Crumbly slid under the umbrella as the pair along with several other men walked inside out of the storm.
Crumbly, now in a different pair of cloths, sat dry and comfortably in the conference room. He took a moment to enjoy the oak paneling and table, alongside the velvet plush cushioned seats. He was at the head of the table and along its length several military advisors who had made an earlier flight, thus by-passing the storm which had tormented Crumbly. Admiral Koing sat at the other end of the table his stoic look still gracing his face. With everyone finally situated a lean bespectled looking man stood, his crisp suit complementing his thick brown hair combed back.

“As you all know I am Reich Minister of intelligence, McCarthy Namara, and I have made a rather lengthy flight to be here today in total secrecy.” He undid a small brief case and turned on the projector which hummed to life. “We are now one day out of the Zwischen Ozean colony and I don’t think I have to remind anyone in this room there is a lot of tension between the indigenous population and their masters.”
Several slides went by showing a spectacle of civil unrest and repression, without pause Namara continued.

“It has come to the attention of the ministry that this place offers a unique opportunity for us.” Namara handed out several papers to everyone in the room. The slide presentation switched to weapons of all sorts.

Prinnia is a country wrapped in controversy, her military prowess and financial success on the global market make her a super power. Yet her dark regime and fierce dictatorship make her seem as if she were still locked in the 40’s. Military police stalk the streets for disloyalty and media sources are heavily censored. Yet if she was known for anything, it was war crimes. Having started three large scale wars and having signed armistice in all of the them her regime has never been toppled and those who cry injustice go unanswered. One particular war crime is the selling of dangerous wmd’s to rebel forces with careless disregard for consequences. Her one objective is to sow the seeds of discord and test dangerous weapons outside the borders, therefore out of inspector’s eyes.

“This slide shows several new weapons ready for development. We have been deployed in the midst of this hurricane to ensure that these weapons are properly used on the field of conflict. We have several very wealthy groups ready to buy but they want proof.” Namara’s eyes slid to Crumbly.

“That’s where you come in crumbly, you are to infiltrate into the colony and establish contact with the rebel forces and see if you can’t persuade them into using our arms.”

Crumbly sat up folding his thin fingers into a fist on the table.

“And how exactly do you plan to get me in there? We can exactly just waltz right in like a weapons salesmen!” Crumbly kept his calm demeanor but his eyes held a light. Namara flashed a smile.

“Simple Crumbly, we have sent in a request to the TECT embassy in Kingsbury to set up a mobile mission the colony. You and your men will be undercover as priests.” Namara tossed Crumbly a bible, “We are also asking that the mission be in contact with the White cross for medical supplies. From there you will make contact with the rebels by any means necessary.”

“What about the TECT they will surely see something going on with this.” Another minister piped up, he had a stern look that showed many years in office.

“Ah there is a saying keep your friends close but your enemies closer. TECT has for as long time been our competitor in this world for dominance. We are both old nations stuck by our belief in suppressing others. Yet the TECT has a more pleasant innocent face to our warmongering bully, so this whole viral video of someone undesignated soldier killing children is definitely a blemish on that wholesome face. Even if they deny it and even if it’s untrue the nations of the world will pursue it like blood hounds in a frenzy, they will not stop until they discover the truth or what they perceive it is.” Namara’s wicked grin shook everyone in the room as the light reflected off his glasses shielding his eyes. These were the kind of wicked men running Prinnia, egomaniacs, paranoids, and not yet clinically tested inanes.

“What do you propose Namara?”

“We are going to take the fall. Prinnia shall accept responsibility of the video and begin our own radical crack down on militants within our own borders. I have already sent an encrypted message to the TECT.” The wicked smile remained.

WAR CRIMES!

The title flashes across the screen of a local news source. The camera pans on a blonde woman wearing a bullet proof vest which contrasts greatly with her tied up hair. She holds the microphone close to her lips to be heard over the gunfire.

"In what is now becoming one of the largest Political scandals of the century, the world public cries out in outrage as Prinnia publicly announced its usage of chemical weapons on certain terrorist groups within her borders. Prinnia has long since been a nation noted for excessive usage of weapons against militant groups and ever since her colonial days. Yet today’s controversial news is that of a leaked viral video of a man and a small child being exterminated by undesignated gunman much like the scene unfolding behind me..."

The camera pans to the horizon where pillars of smoke and the sound of gunfire are very distinct. Suddenly screams are heard very near and the blonde woman looks to the source. A man wearing a shirt which in Arabic reads "Death to the Prinnian Masters" is throwing canisters of an unknown agent back at a group of Prinnian soldiers pursuing him. The Prinnian soldiers are dressed very similar in garb as the men in the viral video to ensure its connection. The Prinnian's open fire and the man drops to ground, pools of crimson spew from his wounds. The blonde woman has a horrified look on her face.

"Oh...Oh. My god they just shot him!"

The newsfeed cuts out

SUBJECT: Arms deal & the repulse of rebels
ENCRYPTION: HIGH

It has come into recent light this viral video of sorts, which gruesomely show the execution of a small child. We understand that no evidence has been leaked to show who is truly responsible for this, it has become quite clear to the Reich that it provides a rather unique opportunity. As you and your cabinet are un-doubtly aware Prinnia has been charged with War Crimes before, but the international community lacks the ability to intervene. You should also be aware that Prinnia has recently accepted for responsibility for the video, whether or not your nation is responsible for the actual crime is irrelevant. What is relevant is order and above all money.

With this encryption you will find our desire to unite in arms with you in the crushing of your small insurrection. Prinnia is no stranger to civil unrest and no coward when it comes to putting them down. We also ask that an arms deal for the unrestricted trade of advanced weaponry be established between our two nations. All of this of course done with the utmost secrecy. To keep it simple Prinnia is stamping out her own militant insurrections at this time and are more than willing to supply your nation with raw materials for the fight. Resources are a valuable thing and no other nation knows this better than ours. Hopefully you will see benefit in such a deal and rest easy having the public eye off your guilty or not hands.

Sincerely: Namara Minister of intelligence.

OOC: So I wrote this post relatively quickly and I understand it may need heavy editing. This is the basic rundown. A small naval task force is heading towards the colony but is staying put in international waters. Prinnia a already war like nation, think of a cross between north korea and China, is attempting to use this civil disturbance to war profiteer. By selling raw materials to the TECT and then hoping to ensure the continual conflict by selling to the rebels. Prinnia wants to test her more controversial weapons with the rebels. Knowing the TECT has not yet accteped responsibility for the video Prinnia has to indirectly show that they can be trusted by the TECT to hopefully secure the deal.

Anderson, Zwischen Ozean

Anderson was a small town nearing the cultural border lands of the Jatzi people. It's population of several thousand is dispersed around a large town limits zone; its population is highly diverse with many actually being modern decedents of Jatzi tribesman a generation to several generations ago. The area may be beautiful with lush forest and high rolling hills but the area is also known for being a border town to the war zone beyond. Although not happening much, Jatzi insurgents or other tribesman have been known to target citizens criminally or terrorist like around the cultural borders. These zones are usually considered dangerous even though most Jatzi tribesman & citizens are peaceful -- incidents are also relatively few in number. The recent gas attack, although mostly being a rumor at best, has stirred up new blood in the form of protests, acts of disobedience, and new young men joining the insurgency. Anderson was also home to a military FOB and the in question White Cross outpost the twenty volunteers came from. Leashing in this outpost to control its operations and to investigate further will waken this town a lot. New threats of remaining insurgents and new dangers also present fears.

The dark room was lit solely by a Espson projector mounted on the ceiling; it was lined by a long table in the back of the room and the screen in the front. Standing at the front of the screen, a moderately tall man who was dressed in the standard TECT GCU. Even in the dark you could tell this man was a devil; his light blond hair was very short and his eyes sharp as a bayonet -- which was only a match made in Hell for his personality. This man was Generalmajor Dirk Himmel (Major General Himmel in english); he was probably the fiercest Royal Guard commander in the colony if not the continent. His position was as commander of the military sphere in Zwischen Ozean, where he was actually born before moving to the mainland and returning years later. This man was not human or machine like his subordinates -- he was a demon who would proudly die or kill for his master Lucifer.

On the projector was currently the local map of the area of operation, AO. It displayed their FOB, the gas attack location, the Anderson White Cross outpost, and other important targets. The Major General was flanked by his lower leveled commanders who commanded their own section of operations and staff -- among this bunch was Himmel's second in command who was in charge of their division, Oberst (Colonel) Ralph Ziegler. They all didn't have their masks on currently because they were out of mission but that would change soon. With the Royal Guard commanders in the colony present, the meeting would begin.

"The meeting shall now start." Himmel announced in his dark toned German. "Presently, we have a growing security situation growing in this colony and it must change. Threats and insurgents have also grown in danger and must be addressed. This will be the beginning of 'Operation: Sweeper'."

The men were staring intently on the Major General and the projector, taking notes if necessary for future orders. "First, we shall discuss the gas attack now dubbed as 'Mission Pestilence'. The basics are simple -- the gas strike took place at about 9pm. The artillery gas shells first targeted the perimeters of the camp to prevent escape and kill stragglers fast -- the following shells then targeted in random locations throughout the camp until the ordered shells were used up. The initial clean up of the first stage went off without any problems -- no resistance and little to no survivors until they were cleaned." Himmel stated as if having to repeat this for the tenth time, then clicking the remote for the next slide which contained the evidence of civilians and aid workers. "This initial stage also made discovery of civilians who had accompanied the insurgent forces, foolish people. Also discovered were twenty non Jatzi persons. After investigating these people, it has come to our attention that all were from the local Anderson White Cross outpost across town. Another interesting fact was that out of twenty of these people, four men were discovered to not be Commoner." Himmel once again turned the slide to the pictures of four men along with their new files. "After dental, blood, skin, and other identification tests -- these men did not check out as Commoners nor to any immigrants records. Further investigation turned up false identification for these men including stolen identities that did not match up. We are easily looking at four unknown people in a government ran aid department, which is no mistake."

The men were now looking concerned but more annoyed about the fact that they all came to at once. "These men are more than likely foreign operatives." Himmel stated the verbal thought everyone had. "Now we cannot link these men to anyone yet as this is our first contact but it is now believed that the White Cross has been infiltrated by foreign agents. His majesty the Emperor has ordered a full scale investigation into the department on both a federal and military level. We come in as the military level. While the MOJ (Ministry of Justice) handles the national investigation, the Royal Guard has been ordered to militarily handle the situation here in Zwischen Ozean if necessary -- this is Operation: Sweeper. Now for your orders Guardsmen." Himmel announced pointing to commander down the line each when their turn came of responsibility. "13th Infantry is to perform a raid on the White Cross outpost immediately after this meeting; that entire facility is suspected of being infiltrated and I have only heard shortly ago that the outpost's chopper flew out to an odd location into the ocean to turn back, radar predicts it'll be back soon so beat them back. I want everyone there arrested and investigated; present identification but no warning, the Guards there are expecting us. Anyone resisting with extreme force is to be put down with more force then given -- the entire colony has been put on Defcon two for good reason. 609th Infantry and 89th mechanized will be splitting from their positions to perform an incursion into Jatzi territory; UAV and satellite info suggests the remaining Jatzi Connection forces are regrouping twenty or so miles south near the southern border for a suspected revenge campaign; I don't have to tell you they are recruiting more blood by the day with this damn video going viral. the group shall travel around the Jatzi home high grounds nice and quiet to the suspected war camp -- this time, no chemical weapons are available for obvious risks, like we need even needed them in the first place. Other orders on a Colony level will be made shortly; Defcon 2 has been announced so expect enhanced national security of the colony and orders to follow. Let us show this hidden enemy that this land is united by Commoners and that no threat, internal or external, shall halt the Common or its Emperor." Himmel finally finished for now. "Dismissed".

The 13th Infantry commander, Hauptmann (Captain) Mathias Baier, rushed to his platoon in the FOB. Shouting the immediate deployment order to the standby unit of a hundred men. Within three minutes flat, each soldier stood at attention formation outside in front of their ready transports -- M-20 Hamsher and Pseudonaja lite transports. Ballistic masks and AR-Scorpions in arm ready to move out. A minute later, the transports were loaded and the troops sped to their target, the White Cross Anderson outpost. Their main targets were to gather files, arrest/detain all workers, and investigate further -- hopefully beating the inbound chopper before returning.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs for The Empire of Common Territories

To: The McNernian Foreign Ministry & Minister
From: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Minister Lucas Nacht
Subject: Re-Re-Counter-Insurgency

Dear sirs/ladies,

The Ministry tried to be bluntly clear that TECT does not need "advice" from the McNernian government on how to conduct itself, conduct military affairs, and TECT surely does not need help in the other areas your communique mentioned. We do not trust in your nation's ability to wage war nor do we trust in the remainder of your ministry's advice. Judging by your communique, you do not understand the situation in Zwischen Ozean nor do you understand the colony's twenty-two million residents. So we must ask your ministry to revisit its information wisely before speaking of the colony like a dirt poor war zone -- which it is clearly not. The tiny insurgency and terrorist activity is limited to a small section because of our brave soldier's efforts and our great leaders roles in the conflict too. We would like to once again state we do not trust your nation's "seventy" years of statehood experience compared to our nation's dozens of thousands of years of both warfare and statehood. Finally, we do not know of this "agent" business your ministry keeps bringing up; nor do we understand what you are talking about children being killed and tear gas -- there is no such "children killing" or "agent/tear gas" business happening throughout the Empire so we would like to clarify that we do not understand the business you speak of. Thank you.

Sincerely,
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of TECT
Minister Lucas Nacht of the MOFA

Namara sat silently within the confines of his cabin, his face pouring over the latest issue of Wolf Lovers magazine, the depictions of wolves fascinated him. Yet this hardly mattered with what was going on about him, to put it in his terms there had been a lapse in "fucking" communication. Nevertheless he had received a subscription to an online magazine and he had continued to pour over it for no reason other than his utter dislike of cats.

A knock came at the door, which caused Namara's icy eyes to drift above the rims of his glasses which sat dangerously close to the edge of his nose. Slowly he stood and opened the door, a sailor saluted stiffly and a single bead of nervous sweat dripped off the edge of his neck.

"Sir the miscommunication has been corrected, it appears a glitch within the encryption system left it without a destination. I assure you this message has just been corrected. As has the encryption code." The man quivered as the skinny bespectled man nodded slowly.

"Thank you, I hope this will not...happen again." Namara spoke deliberately with a frosty bite. The soldier bowed slightly and scurried off. Namara shook his head and stepped back inside the cabin one again clicking on the images of wolves, a smirk crossing his face. Damn I hate cats...

It has come into recent light that your nation has come under attack by vile and utterly despicable terrorist. We are no strangers to civil unrest in our own nation and certainly no stranger in understanding that sometimes when an enemy pokes his ugly head around you must use force to eliminate him for the sake of the good and just. Without the needed resources though dealing with insurgents can become a tiresome and lengthy process. A drain on the vitality of a nation if you will, your people are undoubtly loyal and your impeccable armed forces able to deal with any threat to your imperial highness. Yet the people of world do not see it that way, it takes no prodigy to understand that the animals of this world are those who act higher and mightier than those around them. Those who stick up their noses to nations resolving their own internal issues with what a nation sees fit. Therefore Prinnia extends a hand of friendship to those who must continue the fight for the empire! Let us partake in the selling of goods and arms between our two nations. Raw materials and the like in return we stabilize our economies with trade which cannot be faltered by any "unwanted" public attention.

Sincerely: Namara Minister of Commerce.

Cinigrad, Capital of the Stratocratic Federation of Estovakiva

- Útgarðr Fortress of the Autarch

Situated on a mountain the great fortress of Útgarðr was the seat of power of the Estovakivan Autarchs as they watched over Cinigrad and Estovakiva itself as it had been modernized and altered over Estovakiva`s great and rich history. Modern defenses such as motion scanners, cameras and barbed wire walls with guard towers and all the other assorted modern defensive technologies and communication. A special customized Ka-60 Transport/utility helicopter clad in the standard Estovakivan ground Forces camouflage slowly descended onto one of the handful of helicopter platforms inside Útgarðr. Greeting it was a honor guard of Varangian Gvardiya Soldiers in their typical red and black and golden uniforms clad in protective vests from Emmeria, with their distinctive red berets and balaclavas which saluted the large bearded figure stepping out of the helicopter in now revealed to be High Warlord Halgrim the leader of the Varangian Gvardiya and one of the members of Autarch Volostovs inner circle.

Halgrim saluted with a stern look on his face back as he walked with two aides and one Colonel in the Varangian Gvardiya, who briefed him with some in regards to the subject he would probably discuss with fellow Estovakivan high-ranking leaders. As they walked towards a guarded door which lead inside Útgarðr as the soldier guarding saluted as he opened the door as Halgrim continued down stairs and then ended up in the large hallways of the ancient fortress covered with colors of Estovakiva and traditional art. As well as floors with red carpets. Bustling with small scale activity as a high number of officials from the upper echelons where present, this always provided some inspiration to work more efficient than before.

"I salute you High Warlord Halgrim" said a very familiar voice suddenly as Halgrim and his aides made their way around a corner in the halls of Útgarðr which turned out to be Warlord Hróald Haraldsson blóðöx one of several commanders under him as he replied "Walk with us Hróald, I assume you are here for the briefing of the situation concerning TECT, and its recent war against insurgents?"

"Yes, High Warlord" said the younger commander with a firm voice as he continued "This does not bide well for our friends in the TECT, which are now getting the international community after them for reacting accordingly"

Halgrim nodded, as he saluted two Varangian Gvardiya members which then opened the door to the grand assembly room. "Indeed, the international community do not see the need to strangle insurgency in its cryb" as they walked into the room the atmosphere was cold and cruel as high-ranking officials from the EFAF and the ground forces as well as the GRU and Varangian Gvardiya as well as the navy, the most notable ones being Air Force Valeriya Avgaard and General Kamerov all seated at a large old oak table. The planning was about to start as Autarch Volostov noted the presence of the new arrivals, by signaling with his hand to start the intelligence briefing. Which could go on for hours as a brown haired female major from the Estovakivan GRU walked in front of the large information screen covering the tall wall of the left side of the room as a map of The Empire of Common Territories, including its hotly debated Zwischen Ozean Colony appeared.

"Not long ago a certain video began, circulating on the net, not long after the sites that did put up it began turning black, for no apparent reason, however our GRU (Main Intelligence Directorate)
Has managed to acquire this video showing a chemical attack on an insurgent stronghold in TECT controlled Zwischen Ozean Colony, sadly the insurgents used children, women and old people as human shields which resulted in numerous unwanted casualties. Which is a true tragedy, however outside forces such as unenlightened nations with their own national agendas may use this for their imperialistic plans against the TECT, nations such as Norvenia is already calling for international support to investigate this incident and its tone is blatantly anti-TECT"

The female officer continued as more information appeared on the screen.

"As known the Empire of Common Territories is a supporter of Estovakiva in terms of its foreign policy and has substantial interests which benefits us both in the present and future, which is why our GRU has started targeting sites with the video as well with their cyber warfare branch, and with GRU operatives detaining doing the foot-job on arresting those who are spreading it within Estovakiva"

Autarch Volostov tapped the table with his hand slowly as he thought "Estovakiva cannot accept imperialistic actions against the Empire of Common Territories we must protect the territorial integrity the TECT and sovereignty which may be violated soon enough, and for the reasons said by our fair maiden over." Volostov gestured towards the GRU major as he continued «The situation may explode at any moment should more nations become involved"

General Kamerov raised his voice after the Autarch "My Autarch, I have already prepared plans for an Estovakivan anti-insurgent forces to be deployed to assist the Empire of Common Territories in their fight against these so called insurgents, the equipment includes army aviation such as attack helicopters and ground attack planes"

As General Kamerov finished, Air Force Marshall Valeriya Avgaard took the chance to speak "I have already ordered the 98th Military Transport Aviation Regiment on stand by to quickly transport the required material to wage warfare against insurgent forces inside TECT"

Volostov nodded with approval "Dispatch a message too High Admiral Steingrímur at once, tell him to prepare several of his submarine warfare groups and too deploy them to some of our extra-regional territories as a precaution in the case of heavy foregin escalation"

Volostov then shifted his eyes upon High Warlord Halgrim.

"I assume thee Varangian Gvardiya can deploy some of its Special Operations Group to aid General Kamerovs aerial forces?" General Halgrim was silent for a brief second as he replied "Yes Autarch, we can quickly deploy several Special Operation Groups or battalions, but few are required"

After the meeting was concluded, the assorted plan was set into motion.

Offical Communique of the Stratocratic Federation of Estovakiva

“Máttur-Hugrekki-Endingartími”

From: the Assembly of Stratocratic Generals.
To: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs for The Empire of Common Territories
Subject: Estovakivan aid.

Greetings and salutations to the Empire of Common Territories, we have the uttermost please to once again contact a nation we do indeed have great cooperation and fellow causes with which is the Empire of Common Territories, as perhaps known TECT forces has been fighting insurgent forces in its Zwischen Ozean Colony known as the Jatzi which has a somewhat unknown agenda as its now seemingly receives support from foreign nations in terms of PR, we are somewhat referring to the unenlightened.

Commonwealth of Norvenia which pushes its agenda behind the notion of "universal"" human rights which it attempts to impose upon other nations as said by the path of enlightenment they only exist because a nation claims their existence through it ability to exercise power which is indeed true in this dangerous world ruled by the term 'might makes rights' which is why we believe nations should be ruled by the principles of realpolitik and moral nihilism. Rather then the "nature" of the world and geopolitics that unenlightened proponents claim are universal and not exclusive under their guise of morality which is instead pure imperialism.

Which is why the Stratocratic Federation wishes to extend a most helpful hand to the Empire of Territories to secure its protect the territorial integrity by sending in forces which main goal and purpose is to crush insurgence through air and land, however there are threats to the sovereignty of the Common Territories as well which is why we offer support towards this in the form of the Estovakivan Federation Navy should this be required.

Sincerely,
The Assembly of Stratocratic Generals

Jatzi Militant Attack! TECT Forces Ambushed in Far West of Jatzi Lands.
October 7, 2013

This is just in. Urgent reports of a Jatzi assault along the south western coast have been reported in the last hour. Sources near the suspected battlefield report heavy gunfire and artillery fire coming from multiple areas. The report also points out that patrols by the TECT Imperial Army were the first targets of the assault; they were ambushed along a secluded path. The situation is still developing and reports of fighting are still continuing to flow in.

Sources claim the assault is retaliation against the suspected attack on a Jatzi war camp that natives claim was "full of civilians and innocents -- of who were slaughtered mercilessly." The situation is still unknown, whether the attack was true or not, and this latest assault is estimated to be the largest in years. Royal News is obligated to provide acquired video from fighters, TECT military officials, and other sources.

Somewhere south west in the Jatzi native lands
Earlier (before reports)

Hamid Kifle sat in his recently hallowed out hole. He sat cross legged and held a cross in both of his hands; his eyes were closed and he was in deep prayer. Hamid was only twenty-one years old; he knew his life changed over a week ago with the injustice that had took not only his father but much of his people -- family friends included. He sat atop a hill wearing a heavy camouflaged jacket and other warm clothing; he also wore a heavy scarf which concealed much of his face -- for both warmth and identity reasons. Hamid spoke aloud: "Judges 15:15-16: Finding a fresh jawbone of a donkey, he grabbed it and struck down a thousand men. Then Samson said, “With a donkey’s jawbone -- I have made donkeys of them. With a donkey’s jawbone -- I have killed a thousand men." Hamid opened his eyes with deep hate -- intent to kill raged inside, vengeance for his father and his people.

Hamid lifted the butt of his PKM located just in front of him; he checked to make sure it was loaded and ready to fire. He looked onward across the deep valley, past the roads, and onto the other highland across from him. He spotted the signal from his fighter across the way -- a mirror flashing him repeatedly. The signal meant his men were in place and ready; it also meant that the column was approaching the ambush zone. Although the small patrol was not very much worthy of his wrath, Hamid wanted to use this trap to ensnare more forces into a larger battle. The small patrol was a common occurrence; the patrol consists of four M-20 Hamsher vehicles -- they were commonly fully equipped with troops and weapons, this usually means heavy millimeter guns and around thirty-six soldiers. "My God is a Vengeful God -- you Commoner pieces of shit!" he said to himself as he started the attack. He pulled the trigger and didn't let go until he needed to reload; whether he hit the convoy or not, he was not alone in the assault. Following suit, gunman around the high tops surrounding the dirt roads opened fire; the few RPG's that could be scavenged were also being utilized; a few mortar teams also began firing at the convoy. Hamid was convinced he would surpass his fallen father as the new chief and would lead a successful bloody holy war against the Commoners -- or he would die trying.

Dear Prinnian Reich Ministry,

Thank you for your nation's acknowledgement of support. It is good to see other nations, similar in some ways to TECT, that stand up for their people and honored leaders. Nations around the world are naturally different to our very own nation. TECT understands protest and objections to TECT ways of life but it does not tolerate intervention in its Imperial affairs and wont tolerate them -- if we can respect other nation's domestic choices, they can at least attempt to understand ours. Thank you again for your nation's show of support and rest assured, TECT has the economic and military power to protect itself and her citizens. We welcome your support and agree to discuss terms for such suggested diplomatic agreements. Thank you.

Sincerely,
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of TECT

Dear Assembly,

Thank you great allies in Estovakiva. It is true that these are challenging PR times in which foreign nations are siding with terrorist organizations over legitimate government. Norvenia is among these nations that are full heatedly against the Empire in terms of justice. It is still pleasing to know that we have an old ally, yourselves, to have the Empire's back in this time in need. We humbly accept your nation's offer to assist our nation in this fight to end this bloody, fruitless, and wasteful war; we ask that your assembled fleet be prepared for war to be safe rather than sorry, and the TECT Armed Forces will be in contact with your Assembly on stationing of your nation's soldiers. Thank you again great allies.

Sincerely,
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of TECT

The room was pitch black -- only the sound of dangling chains and dripping water echoed the blackened room. Trofim Polyakov did not know where he was, nor could he understand much of what was happening anymore. He remembered well the past day of events that took place; although his sanity is slipping, he couldn't forget what was happening to him now. It was pure Hell. Trofim Polyakov, a twenty-seven year old Jatzi man, worked for the Jatzi connection; he had infiltrated the north some time ago and with the news of the mass death of his people, he knew his time as a soldier was coming. All Trofim could remember at the moment was the raid on his home by heavily armed men and the stress of yesterday's holdings. He refused to answer questions and that is how he ended up in this situation -- cold, wet, and dangling from something.

The dim lighting above flashed on without warning, revealing the room once more. The room was a bare white cement block room; it was small in size and the ground was simple grey pavement sloped slightly to the center where a drain was located; there were no windows and the room looked very old, like it hadn't changed in lifetimes. Trofim knew very well what this place was -- all enemies who feared TECT knew about this rumored room -- this was a TECT torture room, also called a "Folterkammer" (German for 'Torture Chamber') by both its operators and victims -- those who actually survive to tell about it. It may not look up to modern times but the room was more of a theater stage, a false reality displayed to those who are unfortunate enough to end up here; it's wired for both sound and visual (night or day), the temperature system kept the room at forty degrees and air conditioners blasted cold air to the center of the room (hitting their targets), the ceiling leaked of cold water from what looked like old pipes but were actually water carrying pipes drilled with holes to hit targets bellow when water was pumped through. Only the door looked new, made of some thick metal that was bare on the inside -- locking the occupant inside. Trofim was cold from the AC and wet from the water too; not only that, he was suspended a few feet above the ground, reverse hung by his wrists (hands tied behind his back) with a metal chain that connected to a pivot on the ceiling and then to a device in the corner of the room. Finally, a large weight was tied to his ankles that assisted gravity in its job. Trofim was tied to a modern chain version of a Strappado. The only thing Trofim could think of for the past few hours was the immense pain he was feeling; his shoulders were clearly dislocated, or at least he suspected, and the pain couldn't be described it was so horrendous. Soaked, naked, and hanging in pain -- Trofim's body screamed of pain and agony as the door's lock from the outside clanged open, followed by uniformed figures shortly after.

"Are we feeling more cooperative this evening Mr. Polyakov? Or does this have to go down like yesterday?" the first man to come in spoke in english but with a deep German accent; clearly, english wasn't his first language. He wore the standard GCU of the TECT military but had patches and other material that belonged to the Royal Guard, the notorious mask included; nothing but his cold eyes could be seen in terms of skin -- which showed zero emotion. The second man who came in behind him from the door frame looked the same, practically a twin brother. "I don't know what you mean. How can I help you if I don't know what you need!" Trofim replied, lying of course but he had to hold out for either death or his possible release. "Very well then. We shall proceed with today's interrogation. Feel free to tell us the information whenever you like -- we have all the time in the world so no hurry honestly." the first Guardsmen replied, motioning to the other soldier to bring in the cart and raise the man up higher. Trofim could only yell in agony as he was raised up even higher off the floor, the pain increasing more with each centimeter he rose. He looked over the steel cart and feared what he saw: a taser, a cattle prod, some portable heat and metal equipment, and other nasty looking stuff he dared not to guess the uses for. The first Guardsmen walked over to the cart as the second man closed the door with the sound of a loud slam of metal; the Guardsmen started the small mobile stove appliance he brought in on the cart and placed a few metal tools on the flame, then grabbed a slick black taser off the cart. Trofim was regretting becoming an agent for the Jatzi Connection -- he didn't think things would end up like this, nor could he dream a more worse situation.

"Now, Mr. Polyakov. We know who you are and who you're working for -- we even know your mission here in the north. But we want to know more; so like I inquired yesterday, where do you report?" the Guardmen stated walking up to Trofim, jabbing the taser into his inner thigh, ready to use it.

"...." Trofim did not reply; it was his best solution, or at least the only thing he could think of as he turned his head away from his interrogator -- praying to god for this whole thing to end.

"I see... What a shame." the Guardsmen coldly responded before pulling the trigger to the taser. Trofim's muscles contracted but couldn't shake much with the chain and weight holding him down. He was in so much pain that he couldn't think straight anymore -- he couldn't help but piss himself because he lost control of his bladder. He couldn't even scream because of the shock. With one hand, the Guardsmen grabbed Trofim's throat enough to almost strangle the man. "I'll ask you once more. Where is your headquarters!? Where is this insurgency located now!? I want to know the center of your operations!" the Guardsmen yelled harshly.

"I... I don't know! Please..." he stated before being shocked again in a new location, this time a scream followed.

"I don't want to hear that Polyakov. We know you know where they are, you lived with these people after all. Now tell us or else this will get only worse for you." the man went back and grabbed one of the tools from the portable flame on the cart, a knife, which was already glowing red hot. It was a simple modern dagger like blade, not used for combat anymore but it was still useful as a stabbing and cutting tool -- or, in this case, a cutting torture weapon.

"Let me ask you another question now -- we'll come back to the subject of the location later." the Guardsmen stated while placing the heated blade near Trofim's bare chest, close enough to easily feel the radiant heat and to singe hair on his chest. "Tell us where any other agents like you are at. We know there must be more and we want their names, addresses, and anything else you know about each one of them. The more you cooperate, the less painful this will get for you and the sooner you go home."

"I don't know anyone else! Why would I? Im just an informant for crying out loud!" Trofim replied intently staring at the blade but not daring to look his torturer in the face.

"You lie!" the Guardsmen stated in anger. He pressed the blade against Trofim's skin and began to slowly cut down his chest from top to bottom of his chest line; blood flowed down the man, he screamed in horrid pain. The room, however, would not let the screams leave.

"Please...! Stop!" Trofim could barely get out. "I don't know of any other agents! They wouldn't tell me even if I had asked!"

"No, you know something. Now tell me before you hurt yourself once more." the Guardsmen replied holding the heated blade above his arm next to his shoulder.

"There's a few more I think!" Trofim gave up unconsciously, without a slight thought. Even though he didn't truly know how many had came with him up north nor did he know their locations or targets.

"Not good enough Polyakov. I want numbers, names, locations -- or else."

"I don't know any exacts! I came here alone to watch government building -- I don't know where anymore Jatzi that headed north! They wouldn't tell me even if I wanted to know!"

"Okay then, lets circle around to that later too then. How many men does your organization have fully? I want at least an estimate of troops, equipment, and capabilities."

"I don't really know. We are spread out everywhere, I could only guess something like three hundred to five hundred at best. I swear!" Trofim replied in fear.

"Heavy ordnance? I want to know of anything bigger than a gun that your organization has. Vehicles, rockets, anything." the Guardsmen asked, knife scratching the skin.

"I uhh... I don't know! Please! I just report troop movements! I don't know of any guns or locations, I grew up away from war camps! Please let me go!" Trofim now pleaded for his life.

"Useless." the Guardsmen uttered, putting the knife back to the cart. He grabbed a metal bat and swung back hitting Trofim on his left side. "You're useless, im tired of scum like you trying to destroy our great nation but you have nothing to contribute other then terrorism. You're useless, stupid, and you're a waste of life! You don't deserve to hold that national born title of Commoner!" the Guardsmen beat senselessly on Trofim, trying to appear to have lost his cool but truly not. "Where is your base of operations!? Do you have allies!? And where can we find these insurgents!?" He yelled at the beaten man who was barely awake let alone alive.

".... I .... I don't know." He couldn't remember even if he knew at this point; the soldier made the mistake at being to violent instead of crafty in the beginning. To avoid the loss of information, the Connection was known for using Jatzi agents who didn't grow up around the militant fractions. They were usually peaceful farming people who weren't really involved in the conflict. They used these people, trained them shortly, and then had them moved as close as possible to their targets; all while keeping them in the dark on most to all information. Even disposable cell phones were used and dumped constantly when lone agents didn't make trips to and from the south. These agents are usually pawns who leave information at gathering points for information runners when not using disposable phones; this strategy kept vital information away from Commoner military intelligence in the instance that these agents were caught. That was when a knock came at the door. The second Guardsmen stood at the door and waited for it to open and in came another Guardsmen, a third like brother. He saluted and whispered into the ear of the second Guardsmen, saluted again, and quickly left as fast as he had came. Now the second Guardsmen stepped to the first waiting for the news, which was whispered into his ear as well. "How pointless." the first Guardsmen uttered aloud.

"It turns out this session was pointless Mr. Polyakov. An associate of yours, with a higher position, seems to be more enlightened then you are. Seems to have been your information runner who knew too much information for his own good. It is too bad you weren't of use after all, we ended up wasting both of our times here. Goodbye." the Guardsmen motioned for the equipment to be taken out and he followed the cart out, leaving the door almost closed. Placing a hand on the shoulder of one of the two guards outside, he whispered into his ear in german with new orders; "We have no more use for them, go ahead and 'clean' up all the rooms for us. Use Protocol B." The guard nodded, slinging over his weapon and drawing out his service pistol. As the the two Guardsmen made their way down the hallway, a single gunshot came from the nearly closed torture room, followed by other individual shots. And that was the end of that.

Twelve miles west of Jatzi Homeland
One hour into the battle

Corporal Harold V. Thomas was taking cover on a side of the high raised road path on his usual patrol route. Laying back on wet grass, rock, and gravel -- he and his platoon were under heavy small arms and projectile fire. The vehicles provided cover too to some but they were mostly providing support -- it did little to change the eve of the ambush, made of heavy gunfire and rockets. Harold had been deployed to this backwater two months ago with his platoon and was fully aware that he and his comrades were in harms way -- seeing that they were close to Jatzi native land and this wasn't the first firefight they have had. But this time, it was different. The ambush was more merciless than usual and they were using heavier equipment too this time; rockets and mortars were being used without much care for shortages. Judging by the amount of shit the Jatzi were releasing on them -- these guys were not only more pissed off then usual but it seems they had higher numbers then usual too. Whatever the case, Harold and his platoon were in serious trouble of being overran.

Harold rolled over and dove behind a large boulder that the remainder of his fireteam had been using for substantial cover since dismounting their Hamsher. Amongst his comrades returning fire, he noticed his Hamsher located a few dozen feet ahead firing its bushmaster chain gun at the top of a hill located some ways away; it appeared to be a big gathering point for the Jatzi scum. Harold peered around the the large boulder to see the view and saw the spray of tracer rounds coming down at them from atop the nearby hill tops and mountain sides; his own platoon's returning selective fire was aimed back at their assailants. He also saw a comrade flat down in the side of the slope like where he had just come from. He didn't recognize the comrade but it was clear by the blood and the nonexistent movement that the soldier was dead -- or at least wounded. Harold clutched his AR-Scorpion, clearly upset by the certain death of his comrade, something new he has now witnessed for the first time. A shot ricochet off the boulder in front of him, almost landing in his face -- he instinctively lurched backward into full cover once more. He was grabbed by the shoulder by the man behind him, PFC Christopher Baker, who had to yell over the gunfire to be heard. "On three, we're giving covering fire so that Steve and Jeff can run and drag him over here. No man left behind!" he hollered into Harold's ear who nodded back as a sign of understanding. His CO, Sergeant Norman M. Duff, stood slightly back and began the countdown. "1...2...3!" Harold, Chris, and another soldier stepped as little as possible around the boulder and fired over the other at the visible gun flashes and places they suspected they were receiving gunfire from; the nearby Hamshers also participated with Harold's three and the others on the other side of the boulder -- the rest of the platoon either participating or grabbing their wounded too. In the fray of the assault rifles and machine guns, the two soldiers sprinted out and grabbed their fallen comrade and dragged him back like it was a timed race, back behind the boulder successfully. The young man, probably nineteen at best, was Private Tom C. Pittman -- also known as 'Tommy Boy'; Harold instantly recognized him now as his fireteam's medic. He was dead, killed by two bullet wounds in his chest, one of which managed to beat his vest and hit him in the heart; the kid must of died within seconds if not instantly. "Bastards..." Harold whispered to himself.

As the fray continued on and on, the men knew one truth over this troubling time: No man is left behind.

20 something miles south of Anderson, Zwischen Ozean
High Atmosphere Flight
RM-30 Cockpit

First Lieutenant Cooper didn't think he'd ever have to fly a real combat mission; the blonde haired, small man was never a strong guy -- which is why he joined the air force rather the army. Flying high above the mountains and the clouds that lay just bellow, in the darkness of night, Cooper, along with his CO and primary pilot, Captain Frankle, flew towards their target zone at high speed. The RM-30 wasn't stationed in the colony so it had to be sent from a close by military instillation. Cooper was nervous but he knew what to do -- his training and practice would guide him in his first combat mission. Cooper was the co-pilot of the RM-30 codenamed "Feurig", after the primary spear weapon of the Commoner god of war, Krieg. "Thirty minutes to drop." the pilot suddenly announced. It was the given signal to make final preparations for ordinances to be ready for drop; in this situation, they were 45,000 kg worth of heavy smart guided ordinance. Cooper wasn't so sure what their targets were, but they had to piss of the country pretty good to get a swift kick in the ass from its air force. All he knew was that they were insurgents who had gathered for an attack -- it was all he needed to know anyways. The computers had already chosen the best speed, location, and point of drop to accurately decimate whatever the hell they're targeting. By the time the point came, the internal bay opened, dropped its ordinance, and began its flight back to its launch point. Cooper could only get a glance back at the flashing lights that were bomb strikes; fast and hard -- that's how Krieg's spear is meant to strike.

Militant Camp of the Jatzi
Just before airstrike

It was yet another calm night as the Jatzi war party prepared for war. Although this wasn't a place for children, some families had still attended the party -- even though the knowledge of the gas attack that left so many families dead. Children were also in the ranks of soldiers -- children as young as eight were given a weapon, some ammo, and rations like any other man. These mixed gender holy warriors were on the traveling war path -- destined to burn down Anderson and then move onto the next target. What fueled these men? What brought them here? It was the gas strike and long going conflict in the Jatzi region. A conflict started by TECT and would be ended by them. Many here came because of the news of the slaughter -- Jatzi came from all over to join the coming war effort. Protests were also heard to be roaring in the colony's capital and in other cities; with hope, these Jatzi and foreigners alike would become holy soldiers too.

Chariton Medvedev, a tribal elder, lead this latest campaign. At the age of fifty-two, his years are bonded with experiences caused by this retched conflict. He despised Commoners to the point that he began to hate most ethnically western white people in general. His parents had been killed in fighting when he was still a teenager -- vowing revenge, Chariton would do anything to get it; if that means arming children then so be it. His camp was now over a three thousand strong; albeit, there are a few dozen civilians, the rest however are diehard radical insurgents willing to die in the name of a free Jatzi -- and a dead Imperial Common Territories. Yet; even though the camp was meant for war, it seemed oddly peaceful too. Even with children and men cleaning their weapons in the makeshift tents, there was an odd atmosphere of unity and togetherness -- whether it was caused by the goal of destroying TECT or securing their people's independence is unknown. Chariton was happy to know the southern front was doing its job in this war -- with such a chemical attack they suffered, it was a joyful thought to know there are still proud Jatzi left to continue the fight. Although he didn't know it, or hear it; his camp of thousands of warriors, tents and all, was about to be decimated by falling smart bombs.

Flash, boom, and other descriptive terms could not describe the first strike that took out many within a second. The explosion shook everything with force and likely killed many -- yet, it was not near the last bomb. Cries of children, flying debris, and the men running around in panic looking for cover made the scene a hellish situation. The situation brought to thought of panicking ants scurrying away from rain drops. As more and more bombs dropped, the scene grew more and more shattered and destroyed. Dead lay about, being thrown about by the force of more bombs; trees shatter and splinters go flying, killing more; and hell on earth for those in the target zone. Chariton himself lay bleeding on the ground next to others who had already been killed; a man who had been killed by burns it seems and child soldier who still held his destroyed weapon -- a tree makeshift splinter piercing his chest. His last thoughts as he bleed out from the shrapnel wound he suffers was how this happened -- how did they find them and how could this have gone so wrong?

The rumbles, flashes, and plums of smoke could be seen from Anderson. Sound waves that felt like light breezes hit every time a bomb had hit. Blasts could actually be seen and some were bigger than others. The far away scene was tapped and quickly made its way online for the world to see.

Miles away from Militant Camp
Royal Guard 609th Infantry and 89th mechanized

Even inside his vehicle, the Royal Guard soldier felt the shock waves that hit his vehicle. Bringing his head above his now opened hatch; the masked soldier looked toward the source. His YrT9A2 Solentyr was lightly moved by the shocks but the other vehicles present seemed to not move an inch; a few other Solentyrs, some LY219's carrying more ground troops, and a few HT9A7/2 Yvernyr Esdirise's for heavy support, and a group of LALY-215's for air support and recon purposes. There were already armed troops on the ground taking cover behind what cover they had; these explosions didn't hurt bother them anyways. The young soldier still standing in the hatch watched as more flashes of light followed by shock waves and explosions blasted through; some were bigger than others, which were probably hits to ammunition stashes or larger bombs. He didn't know who to blame for the strikes; bombers, Krieg, or his son Sieg. Either way, it was hell on earth. Once the bombs had fallen, the order was to move in and capture/kill all fighters. The soldier knew there wasn't going to be any capturing though -- it was going to be a full on assault on the camp. The coming silence meant the bombs had all fallen and soon the order to begin the assault would be given. Before the soldier went back into his hatch, he prayed for their sakes that they had all been killed on that devastating bombing.
