Perhaps we should all go into the Alpha one for now, leave the others for exploration / future applicants.

Going waaaaaay back!

@ Entunarii; Approved!

@ Tribea; *gives a shrill whistle* You're really serious about the brain fungus, eh? I simply don't have much other choice but to say you're Approved, but do please flesh them out more, I find them quite fascinating!

@ Nyte; the Super powers will be on the character app, yes, but the meaning it connotes will be slightly different to reflect the change in scale and purpose. It'll be less about what the character is capable of as is the case on the Nat'App, and more about actual "special" abilities. This is probably the one field out of all on the applications I'm going to be most prone to clamping down on unless certain circumstances are met.

@ Keshrya; As it is, your app is kind of in a state of limbo. It is neither good nor bad due to its incomplete nature. So, while technically approved, it won't be added to the list of accepted applications yet.

@ TNF; Instant Acceptance. Just,... yes. To everything! WOOP WOOP!

@ Sarthal; as is the case with Keshrya, your app is also in a state of limbo, and as such, is technically approved until you let me know when you're done.

@ Halacia; A fresh new face? Huzzah! Approved.

@ Taeji; Take your time, don't feel rushed now. A number of fields are just for fluff, but can minimize the need to explain things in OOC. And if you need any help at all, I or any of the co-ops and assistants/advisers, and even the general memberships would likely be able to happily help you!
And as for series based nations, well,... unless you are quite literally going to rip it off word for word (I've seen it before, hoo boy!), it's not my place to tell you that you can't. Like Yalos pointed out, it tends to be better to cannibalize elements from them and then make something you can call your own. It goes a long way towards gaining you the respect of the community, and you'll most likely enjoy it much, much more. Plus, it's less likely that you'll end up disappearing, as is the general tendency of fandom based nations.

@ Miyager; There is no timeline per say, besides what ever the players decide they want to try. Earth will likely be regarded as a mythological realm by the population of players, and as far as anyone knows the milky way is just another faint pinwheel branded by a serial number in a high powered deep space telescope's lenses.

@ Nezon; I can't think of much to say in review of either app, except maybe possibly adding a bit more detail, but, Accepted.

@ Yalos; Swell stuff, this is the kind of detail I like! Can't wait to see some of it in action.

@ Zeinbrad; Quite nice, but lacking much detail, thus, for the time being it is technically accepted until more fleshed out.
Why must I be the only one who can be reasonable in the face of chaos?

Also, yes we have warrior monks with lightsabers and vibroblades.

Long app, took a bit, but I'm done.
Image
Civilization Name:N/A, they don't call themselves anything. Sometimes referred to as Artificials, or Synthetics.
Civilization Age:3,500 years of recorded history

Government Type:Egalitarian Democracy, with Theological undertones.
Government Information: Power is held by an elected Cleric, the highest order of priesthood. The Cleric is voted in by all citizens of the concourse. Legislation is held by the Assemblance, a group of elected high priests and monks who pass laws that are approved by the Cleric. This group also controls the courts.
Government Status:Very stable, the current Cleric is Ramiel Veszuel Ysent Zerufel.
Population: about 1.5 billion, but the population is relatively stagnant except in times of war.

Home World/Capitol: Genesis System:Planet Ethlan:Holy City/The Concourse
Capital Status:The planet Ethlan itself is a barren dead world, scarred by unknown battles and left with ruins left behind by the great creators. It's a holy site, and only the Cleric and the high priests are permitted to live on its surface. As for the rest of the population, they inhabit a mess of space stations, known as the Concourse that orbits Ethlan. The station is massive, one of the largests of its kind, and its economy is powerful.
Notable locations and such:On Ethlan, the Holy City is one of the most important locations in Artificial culture, as it's believed to be the location where the first Artificials were created.
Founding Species:The creators built the society that created the Artifificials.
Other Species:N/A
=========================================================
Society and Cultural information: The Artificials are strongly religious. The exact teachings of their church is vague, but usually involves reverence of organics and worship of the creators, their gods. The worship of the creators has mysterious origins, but it appears that every single unit has an inherent belief in a higher being. It could be a result of some of the programming they're created with, but the exact source is unknown. The Artificials have a religious scriptures called The Book of Truths, that was written by the very first Artificials, who knew the creators.
Society Status Most Artificials consider themselves equal. There are some units in poverty, but they are usually helped out by the more fortunate units. There are no genders, but each unit has an inherent sense of masculinity or femininity, a trait left over by the creators.
LanguagesHoly Speak, as well as a digital language spoken via radio waves.
Economy: 6, the economy is electronic, and stored on massive computers. Wealth is circulated fairly, and the circulation is managed by banking computers.
Industry: Robotics/mechanics, computer technology.
Production/Construction: Huge orbital mechanized factories can produce a full ship in about a month.

Soopah Powah:A special skill in robotic and computer technology.

Specialties/Advanced Sciences:Robotics, Computers, Engineering, Theology
Strengths:Democratic government gives everyone a say in their nation.
Weaknesses:Religious dissenters are not tolerated and usually executed. Artificials do not function well under stress.
=========================================================
Map Claim Size:1
Grid Coordinates:TL
Map Claim Color:white or purple or, I don't really care.

Holdings/Territory:3 systems with 4 inhabited worlds as well as some interplanetary stations.

Colonization/expansion:Whenever a group of Artificials request a colonial charter, they are put under a few criteria. First, whether or not the group is a part of the church. Next, if they can actually afford a colony. Third, if the group will enforce the Cleric's reign in the colony. And Finally, if the high priests believe it is in the will of the creators to found a colony.

It is all up to the colonists to provide proper supplies, materials, food and of course a ship to carry it all. After landing, the colonists set up their housing, and then, once they're self sufficient, construct their church. After about a year, the government sends a small military inspection team to make sure everything is going well on the new colony. If everything checks out, the military leaves some soldiers behind and officially declares the colony open. At this point, any citizen is allowed to immigrate to the colony, and the colony is under constant protection by the military.

Usually, the colony founders have some wealth and influence to their names. The immigrants often are trying to start a new fresh life.
=========================================================
Foreign policy:The Artificials are friendly to all nations. Especially biological races. All transgressions can be forgiven, and forgotten.
Diplomacy:None yet.

Technological Age: 3,000 years ( the first 500 were the great confusion, when the Artificials were lost and didn't know what to do since the creators left.)
FTL Capabilities: Warp Drive. About thrice the speed of light, depending on how much power the ship has.
Inter Planetary Travel: Various types of drive are on the market for interplanetary travel.
=========================================================
Military Information: The military is almost non-existent, kept only as a tradition for the way things once were.
Doctrine:The military is made up of non-sapient drones, Artificial foot soldiers, and vessels. As a first strike, the Artificials may send WMDs to the point of invasion, and then lead an assault with drones and soldiers, since the area has already been softened. Space warfare is done with pretty large ships, that usually use rail guns and concentrated impact missiles.

Army: As soldiers try to fight the enemy army, while drones take out resistance and guerrilla groups.

Navy:Large mounted rail guns, as well as highly intelligent non-sapient concentrated explosive missile-ships assault the enemy in space.

Strengths: The fact that Artificials are not affected by radiation means they can freely use nuclear warheads against their enemies without worrying about hurting themselves or getting poisoned. Whole vessels are a single consciousness, meaning there's no need for captains, or pilots.
Weaknesses:EMPs still pose a serious threat to the Artificials.

Here is one of the elite units of the Rithian Republic.

Image
Republic marines-Always Faithful

The Republic Marines, formally known as the 23rd infantry corp, are an elite unit in the Republic Navy, they where founded by General Crik Ode, and are one the best fast-response units the Republic can offer. They are one of the few units in the Republic that still practices the Ku'kal martial art, which focuses on Vibroblade combat. The Republic marines have a friendly rivalry with the regular grunts of the army.

If anyone has a idea for a motto for these guys ,tell me.

You know, I'm pretty sure nuclear weapons do generate an EMP pulse as well... You might want to look into that especially if EMP is a weakness of your race and you like to throw nukes around.

How long does the EMP field linger? I thought the EMP from nukes only affects electronic devices that are on when the nuke is set off. The soldiers wouldn't be in the area as the nukes were set off, they would only go into the area after it was softened by the nukes.

I have no idea how long it lingers actually. If I recall correctly, the range of the EMP increases depending on the height the nuke goes off at. The higher up, the further the range of the EMP.

The EMP doesn't linger, it just fries everything within a radius roughly equivalent to one mile per kiloton, assuming it detonates in the upper atmosphere.

Wow, this looks very good. That is one of the best roleplay introductions I have seen in a long time. You have won my interest.

So then, would it be possible for the Artificials to nuke a planet, then wait a bit, then land and attack? I wouldn't use this tactic without pre consent of the other RPer.

:lol: I would only use it if the other person says to me "I want you to completely destroy and conquer my planet."

Normally the Artificials are peaceful, but kind of hypocritical.

I don't see why not. Just make sure you OK it with whoever you're RPing with first.

Digestion:
=======
Acetylmunilene binds around the food and traps it.
Teroktomeunum then binds in a line from the cell to the Acetylmunilene.
Next, it is pulled into the Grullele, which is an organelle that stores the cell
Dertroyuline connects to the cell wall and breaks it down into amino acids, which are moved out by jirules to the Inner Grulle.
Setfemik tears the membrane apart and spits the pieces out of the cell.
Unguluj draws the cytoplasm out and takes out any amino acids, nutrients, vitamins, proteins, etc.
They are moved to the inner Grullele.
The amino acids are binded together into whatevers.
The new whatevers are then moved out and used.
The destroyed parts and waste are pumped out and the cycle resets.

Finished, finally!
Image
Civilization Name: The Independent Systems Republic
Civilization Age: About 2100 years, with the individual planetary civilizations existing for about 1400 before that.

Government Type: Elective monarchy, with a "Legate" with near-dictatorial powers being selected by a vote of the planetary governors "the Council", who themselves are elected by all the property owning citizens of a planet.
Government Information: The system of government is based on the one developed by the refugees who fled the Sundering thousands of years ago, evolving from a direct democracy with the Legate (originally the commander of the flotilla, Legate Eşre) possessing only nominal power to a landed aristocracy headed by an autocratic leader figure.
Government Status: The Sundering itself is a closely guarded secret, as is anything and everything related to the old Empire. However, this is a relatively peaceful time for the Republic, though it is not likely to remain so.
Population:14 billion

Home World/Capitol: Exodus System, Düs II, Katafyon
Capital Status: Katafyon itself (the High Imperial word for "catastrophe) is built upon the ruins of one of the old colony ships, and is carefully husbanded as the "showcase" of the Republic. It contains the residence of the Legate and the Council building, as well as several notable cultural landmarks (all funded by the Department of Cultural Reeducation, of course). The police are omnipresent, and surveillance is a fact of life, though the government makes an effort at hiding this from tourists.
Notable locations and such: The Drunken Skent is rumored to make truly exceptional chicken wings.
Founding Species:Sarthantai'd
Other Species: None
=========================================================
Society and Cultural information: The five systems that make up the Republic were each settled by different colony ships in the wake of the Sundering, and each possess highly different cultures developed as each group adapted their societal norms to the environment of their new home. The desert nomads of Ilsintai, the second most powerful world after Düs II itself, for example, have become almost nocturnal in response to the blistering heat of their home planet, though is space this is mostly irrelevant.
Society Status Without a common enemy, the planetary politics of the Republic are in full swing. Civil war is not the way of the Sarthantai'd, but the careers of the past few Legates have been quite short, and the power base of the position itself is slowly being eaten away by the planetary legislatures.
Languages Düsyi, Ilsin, several other planetary specific, High Imperial (for religious services)
Economy: 4. Despite the relative stability of the Republic, the aristocracy and bureaucracy inhibit economic activity.
Industry: 5. Fairly meh, though the rising middle class is beginning to change this.
Production/Construction:4. Relies mainly on robotic workers, meaning anywhere from 4-6 weeks for a frigate class vessel.

Soopah Powah: Sheer tenacity. Republican troops don't break and they don't run. Whether the loyalty implants in their brain stems have anything to do with this is irrelevant.
Specialties/Advanced Sciences: Neural implants
Strengths: Dictatorial powers of the legate allow for quick decision making in times of crisis
Weaknesses: The governors will undermine the legate at any opportunity to further their political goals.
=========================================================
Map Claim Size:1
Grid Coordinates: FG, Alpha Quadrant, right at the end of that wispy thingy.
Map Claim Color: BEIGE
Holdings/Territory: 5 systems with six inhabitated worlds and a few mining outposts.

Colonization/expansion: The republic itself has not been expanded since its founding fourteen centuries past, save for a few mining outposts scattered across the asteroids and moons of its systems. However, an expedition is being prepared to what the archivists suspect is the location of the Sarthantai'd ancestral homeworld, Athla (will be resolved in Yort and I's intro RP).
=========================================================
Foreign policy: The Republic treats other nations with what is at best suspicion and at worst outright hostility. Having your homeworld glassed and 99% of your population slaughtered by a (seemingly) mindless deathswarm tends to do that.
Diplomacy: No standing agreements with anyone at the moment.

Technological Age: ~1500 years from modern age (think Star Citizen)
FTL Capabilities: FTL drives that take a few hours to warm up and cool down and consume most of the ship's power while in operation, but move ships at a fairly decent clip of around 125c.
Inter Planetary Travel Nuclear salt water rockets capable of moving ships around at a good .03c.
=========================================================
Military Information: The military is a patchwork of planetary militia units, with each planet required to contribute a tithe of one thousandth of its population for a twenty year tour in defense of the nation. After the new recruits arrive, they undergo an extensive regimen of cybernetic augmentation and intense physical and mental training, with an average rejection rate of 40% (though the exact numbers are of course secret, and those who do not finish the training are rarely heard from again). After completion of basic, they progress from novices to cadets, and each soldier is assigned to a service for further training.
Doctrine: The Sarthantai'd believe heartily in the concept of total war. There is no distinction between civilian and military targets, and strategy is aimed at devastating the enemy's capability and will to continue the fight. Where others see deterrents, they see victory.

Army: The primary training facility of the Republican Army is located on the harsh homeworld of the Shad'rai, in the Kaal system.. The world is tidally locked to its star, allowing training in extremes of both heat and cold as well as the relatively mild twilight zone. As most of the war is fought from above, the Army is primarily an occupation force, with the notable of exception of the Echkos: dedicated terror units trained in pillage and murder, uniformed entirely in black and equipped with the most heinous tools of destruction the military can supply.

Navy: The Republican Navy maintains its base of operations upon Selyna, Düs's smallest moon, for both ease of orbital maneuvers and microgravity training exercises. Orbital construction facilities and defense platforms fill low orbit, and at any given time at least twenty vessels are in drydock for refit or crewing.

Strengths: "War crimes" are not a problem, and the implantation programme allows for superbly fit and unquestionably faithful soldiers.
Weaknesses: Their numbers are relatively few, due to the stringent requirements, and initiative among the lower ranks is a rare commodity after those deemed disloyal have been weeded out have been weeded out.
=========================================================
NS activity: Medium-rare
Technological Bases: Star Citizen, WH40k, random technobabble

That digestion process amuses the biologist in me.

By the by, who would be willing to take part in a RP centered around an ancient space-station belong to the former Chosen Empire, constructed prior to their apocalyptic collapse, containing a rather tasty superweapon?
