Aye, the man's right. What I intend to do is to form a "trunk" of sorts, and let people branch off from there. I'm thinking that perhaps there would be a few central Threads, where continuity an huge, sweeping actions that really had no place in smaller scale interactions would take place. From there, people could split off as they saw fit. I want to at least get the central hub up soon(ish) but I'm a bit too busy to devote nearly as much time as I want to the task, and after that goes the "Epic" scale In Character.
So much to do, not enough time in the century!

Know what? Screw it, I'll consolidate the Hub and OOC and then convert this thread into the resulting product. That'll be done when I get around to completing the OP updates, and the IC will be a WIP. I refuse to allow this to stay stagnant past tomorrow, that'll just cause everything to start rotting.

We have a map - it's just a matter of editing and then putting it up. Since I have one of the lowest number of claims then it's be easy to mark my systems. Larger claims might take more time.

I figured as much. The map is being put in at this moment and I'll have a list up immediately afterwards. You could quite simply go right ahead and start if you like. If I recall correctly, the rough details point to it being back story? If that's the case I do encourage you to go right ahead, since there's no legitimate reason to wait until that actual "cannon" starts.

As for actually putting stuff into the map, I'll have to call on someone who's skilled at such work, I've simply too much to do.

Hmph.

I think I'll put in a species app, but not bother with a nation. I tend to aim for characters anyway, and it will give me a good point of interaction with most players. My dearest Ascended will be spread far and wide in no real order or semblance of a nation, living amongst other species.

Because I really can't be bothered to make the time for nation-scale RPs, and I don't have the inspiration for them anyway.

Species Name: The Ascended: individually known as Singers.
Appearance: See: Anatomy.
Biology and anatomy: Due to their rather exotic base composite element, a Singer can take on many different forms, limited only by the mass they comprise and their imagination. As such, individual variation is very much an overarching theme amongst the Ascended, and persons generally take on the form and structure of the civilization they most commonly interact with. In the company of only their fellows, their family or constructs, groups of Singers tend to assume a common form of near-human build and appearance, out of respect for the first race to Ascend, also known as the Singers, or the Choir Tenebris. That form is very much like the OOCly baseline human, except for dual-tone irises of fluctuating homogeneity. Skin, hair, build, bone structure, and other exterior markers of an individual tend to be recurrent, though variation is also frequent; a particular Singer may be tall and dark-haired one day, and short and swarthy the next, as according individual preference.
Height: Varies by individual and nearest species; in general terms Singers stand two to three meters in height, with outliers ranging down to a meter and up to ten meters.
Weight: Extremely varied; differentiated densities mean any Singer of average build can weigh between five and eight hundred kilos, with outliers ranging to extremes indeed.
Relative Survivability: Rather high. Destroying a Singer necessitates destroying all instances of an individual down to the last gram and preventing them from entering any new neural matrices until their essence decays entirely.

Natural Defenses/Abilities: The Ascended are composed of flowmetal, a rather curious substance further explained in the factbook in my sig.
Unnatural abilities: Singers are not natural beings, but rather constructed forms for the psyches of sentients. As such, existing is a rather unnatural ability.

Respiratory Gas: None necessary; cellular respiration does not occur in the matrices of a Singer, and as such no exchange gases are strictly required, merely mass to replace that lost to Dive ediation. Those Singers taking on the form of a different organic race will breathe the appropriate atmospheric mixture if their forms are fully replicated, and may be forced out of a given shape if gas integrity is lost and cellular respiration becomes untenable.
Base composite Element: Flowmetal.

Base Form and Ethnic Variations:
=========================================================
Life Span: Highly varied. Many nascent psyches fail to reach one rotation of age due to cognitive decay, but barring unforeseen circumstances most Singers face eternity as a friend, fearing only ennui and dementia.
Reproduction: Astonishingly rare. As inorganic beings Singers cannot reproduce in a conventional fashion; the process of creating a new life that has never known organic existence requires extreme amounts of love and dedication, with only couples having been joined for millenia being capable of such a sythesis. High rates of infant mortality and dissolution mean even less couples attempt such a feat as are capable, and as such the population of the Ascended is minute on a galactic scale. Sex for either reproduction or pleasure with organic races is indulged in by individuals, and not frowned upon, but the inevitable mayfly-December romance discourages such unions in all but the most extreme cases.
Intelligence Level: Variable. The intelligence of an individual increases with age until their neural matrices are saturated, at which point further matrices must be created to continue the learning process. Nascent psyches born to Singers are barely sapient, Aspirants retain their initial intelligence, and the most ancient of the Ascended are staggeringly cognizant.
Traits/Behavior/Disposition: Singers have as much individual variation in behavior and disposition as the summation of the galaxy, and as such any description is frankly irrelevant, as there is no such thing as "average" behavior for a sapient being.

Type: Eldritch Abomination
Aggression: In general, around a negative two. Their lifespan and congregational nature means most are fairly benevolent, but varied individuals can tread both ends of the spectrum from world-destroyers to beneficent uplifters.

Society and Cultural information:
I have a factbook, though some parts such as planetary holdings are obviously inapplicable.

Important Characters: Every individual I use will be both important and a character, so I'll be adding those as I go.

Any interest in a first contact? Just off the bat.
My nation is a constitutional human monarchy similar to the british empire in several aspects with human superiority, but still a healthy mix of foreign races, and an expansive empire with constant rebellious groups that have to be crushed by the unstoppable royal navy and its elite force of knights. Think of me as Britain in space or perhaps more like Naboo in starwars.
Also, Im planning for a possible civil war early on for those interested in a massive scale civil war, possibly provoked by the extremely corrupt parlaiment with dozens of rival factions and groups. More details willbe ironed out later if anybody is interested.

I'm asking because I'm trying to create a map for the Gaiaverse.

I could, once I get the Imperial Rithian Republic up.

We also have a chance for Civil war, as some want to go back to the good ole racism, dicatorship days, and the slaves.

As the one in the OP is broken up into quadrants.

Civilization Name: The Principality of Entaurii
Civilization Age: Principality: 248 ASY. Arelion Race: 6,800 ASY (Arelion standard years. 1 ASY = 1.84 Earth years.)
Government Type: Monarchical democracy. There are several Departments, and Offices that report directly to the Prince. These houses take their orders from the Prince and have a limited amount of freedom to hash out the details. The majority of the time, this works out fine as the Prince doesn't have to deal with the petty squabbles of the masses and his orders still get carried out. From those, there are leaderships in place on the planetary and local scales to ensure that orders get carried out and problems get resolved.
Government Information: The Prince is chosen from the first acceptable heir in the Royal Family. Military service is mandatory for any Prince; in order to lead, one must first learn to follow- and often see's much time on the front lines of combat. It is entirely possible for the Royal Family to be ousted by peaceful means. If a qualified heir cannot be found within roughly a day after the former Prince's death, the next most suitable person will be chosen and his family then becomes the new Royal Family. In this manner, 'Royal' does not mean superior by blood as is common in much of Earth's past and current monarchies.
Government Status: Recovering from several multi-generational civil wars, yet surprisingly stable.
Population: ~18 Billion

Home World/Capitol: Newhall System, Planet Arelia, Highgate
Capital Status: Arelia has a biosphere much like that of Earth's, which includes large oceans, low plains, high mountains, arid deserts and forests of all kinds. Much of this has been left in-tact despite the Arelion history of war, with much of the fighting confined to the area's in and around the planet's seven mega-cities.
Notable locations and such:
Founding Species: Arelion
Other Species: None
=========================================================
Society and Cultural information: The cultures of the Principality have many variances, much like that of Earth. Overall, while some are fiercely independent (leading to long civil wars) the Arelion people are not nearly as greedy and self-centered as humans, despite their more aggressive nature. It is this aggressive nature that has lead to gladiatorial games being one of the most widely spread forms of entertainment.
Society Status: Iffy. It's been about a decade since the last civil war- one of the longest stretches in history- and as such, one is expected to erupt at any moment. These civil wars are not the result of poor and unfair treatment by the Prince and other government officials, but simply the fierce independence of several of the smaller population centers. These wars have a tendency to be long and brutal, filled with large scale battles and countless small skirmishes. Casualties, however remain limited at least on the Principalities side due to their technology focus.
Languages: Entaurii
Economy: 6: Despite constant wars, the drive for economic expansion has never been greater. War is profit after all.
Industry: 6: A large portion of the Principalities industrial base revolves around military hardware though basic and luxury goods are readily available.
Production/Construction: 5: Production rates for civilian goods are very high. Military hardware tends to have slower production times due to focus on quality.

Soopah Powah: Defensive technology and tactics. Principality warships, while average in firepower, are tough nuts to crack. Despite the constant civil wars, the Principality has yet to initiate a war and most victories tend to be based on high enemy attrition from the Principality slowly pushing it's battle lines forward.

Specialties/Advanced Sciences: Power generation and defense technology.
Strengths: Stable and efficient political base.
Weaknesses: Several sects of people refuse to band together and continuously cause conflict.
=========================================================
Map Claim Size: 1
Grid Coordinates:
Map Claim Color: Maroon

Holdings/Territory: Three core planets, three well-established colonies and roughly seven more colonies started, spread between eleven systems.
Newhall System
-Arelia (Capital)

Colonization/expansion: Exploration teams can be either civilian or military, and colonization is different depending on the nature of the target planet's discovery. Civilian colonization usually has a long period of fund raising and planning. Corporate and private sponsors help fund the necessary ships to start the colony-- which then get cannibalized in the process as civilian colonies tend to have the need to fend for themselves until communications and supply networks are set up. During the fund raising process, certain companies that specialize in exploration and surveying potential colonial planets conducts operations on-location. Through this method, it could be anywhere from 1 to 7 years before a colony is actually established.

Military colonization happens first through scout ships. Upon locating a potential colonial target, a small transport is dispatched that drops off a prefab military base on the planet along with it's garrison. While that is set up, the military selects the appropriate starting population and begins the process of relocation. Unlike civilian colonies, military colonies receive constant shipments of supplies.

Foreign policy: Generally passive.
Diplomacy: Rare, but it can happen. It's likely that it will be simply a peace treaty or a trade agreement if the other nation needs something from the Principality, as they are entirely self-sufficient and tend to be very stubborn about such things.

Technological Age: Somewhere between the new BSG and Star Wars. Maybe 1,000+ years ahead of current Earth.
FTL Capabilities: Near-instantaneous Jump Drives with average charge and recovery times, but somewhat time-consuming navigation.
Inter Planetary Travel Sub-light: Efficient Ion Drives usually powered by self-contained fusion reactions. In some cases powered through the main reactor to ionize stored reactants. FTL: The Jump Drive is a highly advanced piece of technology that

Military Information: The Navy focuses on capital ships and blow-for-blow fights. Fighters are non-existent in space. That isn't to say that there hasn't been fighters before; the waste of resources and personnel on such insignificant craft has been outweighed by the CIWS technology. The Army utilizes combined arms strikes, most of which rely on orbital superiority. Special forces units do exist with a highly experimental semi-black ops division known as the Bound Souls.

Doctrine: Most tactics in the Principality revolve around brute force and the general survivability of military assets in prolonged frontal engagements. It is possible, however, for the Principalities military to accomplish 'Shock and Awe' campaigns, even if they are carried out just a bit slower due to the focus on heavy weapons.

Army: The Entaurii Army is a powerhouse of heavy weapons. By far the largest branch, this is only because of the Principalities experience with planetary invasions throughout the course of their history. Naval superiority can easily be achieved, but ground wars drag on for years or even decades. Infantry units use hand-held rail-assault rifles, while heavier units carry a mixture between kinetic and heat (commonly referred to as energy) weapons.

Navy: Headed by High Admiral William Knight, the Entaurii Royal Navy- while the smallest branch- is arguably the most prideful and full of rich traditions. Any aspiring officer's goal is the command of a ship, and as such is marked as a milestone in any career.

Strengths: Space: Shields and armor, reactors, engine efficiency. Ground: Elite, highly trained and already battle-hardened soldiers.
Weaknesses: Small numbers, lack of lighter units, longer and longer production and training times. Shields and reactors devastating if they malfunction.

NS activity: Medium
Technological Bases: Re-imagined BSG, Star Wars, Stargate, plenty of others.

Still working on many of the more intricate details of it. Noticed while I was filling it out that it's similar to others, but I assure you it will not end up that way through RP.

Speaking of RP, I'm all for it. Need to decide on a look for my military hardware, but in general I believe I'm ready.

]Species Name:Blastocladiales Fungshromuales( Fungus-Walker)
Appearance:They are all so different, ill just make inklings of the types:
The more mushroomy ones have a small stalk, complete with giant heads with huge spore sacks, gooey stuff that we keep secret, etc.
The single cells
And finally, the pedlers are split into quad- and bi- peddlers, who have the legss under then and a tri-row of small holez covered over by a long, gooey, stiff tail(threrefore fast.).They also have a small mouth-like thing that connectz to food and then sucks it in, where it gets broken apart, the process long and complex.
Biology and anatomy: See above.
Height:Depends, though the average is about 2.749102 meters for developed multicells
Weight:Varies wildly
Relative survivability: They have no central control, and indeed in their cellular movement they can often have a cell hidden from attackers, which can blast out of the back of the tail and often releases spores.

Natural Defenses/Abilities:The fact they can break eject waste quickly and hold an extra cell in a cell's movement device is a plus.
Unnatural abilities:If you mean supernatural, nothing like that.

Respiratory Gas: They use pores connected to special tissues, which take the gas and filter out the waste and take the Ji-Oksoujen, which is an ingredient in their nutrient retrieval. The waste is then pumped out.
Base composite Element:Carbon

Base Form and Ethnic Variations: There exist the singled celled form, which is self-explanatory, and then multicells.
=========================================================
Life Span:Normally, 102-307, though the oldest on that ever lived lived till 729
Reproduction:They reproduce by first having their spore sacks connect with another one's, then they exchange genes, disconnect, ready the spore sack in their little launcher at the end of their tail or other mover, then launch them.
Intelligence Level:7.7391
Traits/Behavior/Disposition: Fungi are not bacteria, protists, animals, or derpys. They are actually more related to animals then plants, though they are their own kingdom.

Type: Organic
Aggression: +14/+20
Society and Cultural information: Certain colonies ban certain genez, some of them are more mushroomy, etc.

Important Characters:
None, really.
