BRENECIA
Preferred Formation:
4-3-3
Style Modifier: -1
Playstyle: Very physical, reliant on pace. Favours extensive use of wing play, with a big striker at the end of it. Low on possession, very strong on the counter.
Kit Supplier: Kirola
Nickname: the Patriots

Brenecia are, bluntly, a bit shit. They failed to reach the knockout round in the Baptism of Fire, and in all three competitions since (WCQ65, the following Cup of Harmony and CE7) they've had losing records. That said, they're still capable of putting up a fight, and Clint Hemingway makes certain his team is highly motivated and physically fit. That said, he's really not been subtle about his starting lineup; all signs point to 1-11 genuinely reflecting a player's appearance and position in the first team.

As far as stadiums go, two in particular are favoured; Union Park (home of AFC Northern Union) in Pavonia is the most suitable club stadium, recently redeveloped and boasting a capacity of 70,500 all sitting, but more traditional is the ancient, dusty Kingsgarden in the capital, Rozelle, which holds 41,000 in moderate discomfort and is used exclusively for national events and cup finals; that is to say, as infrequently as possible.

First Team

My opponent MAY
Choose my goalscorers (Twining takes penalties, Twining or Spitfire take direct free-kicks, Sylver takes corners)
RP injuries to my players (maximum one, and not more severe than 'out for the rest of the cycle')
Hand out yellow and red cards to my players (maximum one red every two games, unlimited cautions within reason)

My opponent MAY NOT
Godmod scoring events
Godmod injuries
Godmod other events

Clint HEMINGWAY - 53
Manager

The first thing you need to learn about Clint Hemingway is that he lives in the country, routinely wears an akubra and owns three hundred guns. These aren't just facts, they pretty much sum up his worldview. He believes in hard, dirty football, attractive play decidedly optional. On paper, his record is unimpressive; he'll hope to change that this cycle, where he's looking for six wins from ten and a Cup of Harmony berth.

Vance STERLING - 37
Assistant Manager

Sterling has never been one for the spotlight; he's been supporting staff for fifteen years, a full-fledged assistant for eight, as what doctors described as a 'totally fucked' hamstring ended his career at nineteen years old. He'll support Hemingway to the hilt, but he's no sycophant, and not afraid to argue.

Kurt CALLAGHAN - 28
Journalist

Callaghan's a notoriously sceptical correspondent, but his skills as a journalist are without peer as long as they don't involve subtle headlines. His most notorious article, 'Why Are We So Bad?', raised many questions about the Campionato squad, but others have also sparked the BSFA's ire, such as 'Maybe We Should Try Not Sucking', 'Goddamn We're Dull To Watch' and 'Defence Is The Better Part Of Losing All Our Matches'. He's been appointed as a behind-the-scenes correspondent by mutual BSFA-Rozelle Observer consent, BSFA thinking "He'll find out how good we really are!" and the Observer reasoning "We are going to sell so many papers."
1 - Felix CARRICK - 27 - Violence Chariots (NSB)
Acrobatic Carrick has a flair for the dramatic, many of his stunt jumps seeming built for the camera. But it's no mere showboating; Carrick is incredibly agile and has stunning handling, making him a worthy number one.

20 - Stephen MANSFIELD - 32 - Northern Union
While Northern Union failed to defend their title this season, Mansfield remains a strong keeper with superb positioning and acrobatic skills. He seems to have lost the duel with Carrick to be placed first in the squad, but he'll still provide fierce competition.

21 - Franca CONNELL - 29 - AFC Kingsgrove
A good all-round shotstopper, it's hard to point to any weaknesses in Connell's play. She's played for a variety of clubs and countries, mostly in the top levels.
2 - Samantha ALLBECK - 25 - AFC Treason (NSB)
Right-back

Quick and tenacious, fierce young Sam Allbeck is just as strong going forward on the wings as she is in a purely defensive role. She's the squad's best player, and can boast of being the first Brenecian to reach the group stages of the Champion's Cup... albeit with a Sideburnese team.

3 - Clara DRUMMOND - 25 - South Laithland (NSB)
Centre-back

Drummond was a colossus at the back for the Southrons in their greatest-ever season, helping them to come fifth with her tenacity and bravery. A more than solid centre-back.

5 - Gareth MORTLOCK - 26 - Ridgeway United
Centre-back

Signed into Ridgeway as a replacement for the outgoing Ivan Lascar, Mortlock was never meant as an ideal substitute. His performance proved the doubters wrong, and he was a powerful, immovable object at the back for the Brenecian champions.

6 - Magda CHARTREUSE - 24 - North Laithland (NSB)
Left-back

Young, promising, very short, with a shock of strawberry blonde hair and a swarm of freckles, you'll know Chartreuse when you see her. But she's very good on the wings, with an enviable expertise of short passing, and you can rely on her tracking back when needed; her positioning's impeccable.

15 - Bruce MORANT - 35 - Raven River (NSB)
Centre-back

A straightforward defensive enforcer. You cross his mark, he snaps your legs. You've got to say this for Morant, you know where you stand with him. While age is starting to count significantly against him, Morant will be ready for when he's needed, and small, dainty strikers had better be on their toes.

17 - Shay BLACKWOOD - 26 - Crisisbless (NSB)
Right-back

A tall, dark, handsome wingback, Blackwood was certainly not an attempt to replace like-with-like. The outgoing Anna Shrike was quick and ruthless in attack, while the more laid-back Blackwood is a rock against wingers and prefers to advance slowly and cautiously. Either way, he's more than ready for the squad; his only problem is having Allbeck to compete with.

22 - Jack DANE - 25 - Ridgeway United
Left-back

A well-rounded player, Dane was part of the A-League winning Ridgeway United. He'll act in whatever capacity is required, and though his preferred position is left-back, he's played as a centre-back, right midfield and even holding midfield before.
4 - Fiona SYLVER - 29 - Violence Chariots (NSB)
Defensive Midfielder

Sylver may be small and wiry, but as a playmaker there's no substitute. She tends to stick to her position; this is a team that will likely build its centre around her rhythm, she can afford to sit back and pull the strings. She's now been given a position deeper in midfield, where she'll be better-placed than ever to dictate the flow of the game.

8 - Kurtis ASTON - 27 - South Rathia
Central Midfielder

While nobody's entirely certain why South Rathia suddenly became such a sudden success, much of the credit must go to Kurtis Aston, who excels at short passes that can slice a defence clean in half. He rather fancies himself with those long shots, too, and relishes chances to catch keepers off-guard.

10 - Ashleigh TWINING - 29 - Crisisbless (NSB)
Central Midfielder

Twining's a keen young woman with great ball control and a fine eye for goal. Her runs tend toward the incisive and instinctive, and while she's played slightly further back the line than usual, this may well unlock hidden potential; she's shown affinity for splitting defences with a single short pass in the past.

13 - Marlon BERKELEY - 28 - Brookford Otters (NSB)
Central Midfielder

An attack-minded midfielder, but one capable of running box-to-box when he needs to. He's the engine of Brookford, and if he can bring the same energy and work ethic to the national side he'll be more than welcome.

16 - Althea CHENOWETH - 26 - Kingsgrove
Defensive Midfielder

Chenoweth's the anchor that keeps an otherwise very aggressive Kingsgrove side in check, and Hemingway hopes she'll bring the same restraint to the Patriots. Less of a playmaker than Sylver, but she's a relentless harrier and vicious man-marker. Her twitter account is, in fact, @thatharpy, after a frustrated striker referred to her as such in a post-match interview.

19 - Rhys FONTAINE - 32 - Akabane United (MZY)
Central Midfielder

Fontaine's most comfortable playing in the hole, but he'll play where needed; with his pace flagging these days, he relies on his off-the-ball positioning and general instincts to stay relevant in the game. He's a natural goal poacher, and excels at escaping a marker during a set piece.

23 - Jonathan IRONGATE - 32 - Rozelle
Defensive Midfielder

A holding midfielder with absolutely no qualms about professional fouls or tactical yellow cards; anything to get one over on the referee. He goes in hard for the ball without really caring what’s in his way. He’s also fast, though he lacks composure in front of goal and his ball control could be better.
7 - James MACBETH - 27 - Sabrefell Moths (NSB)
Right Winger

Two-footed, remarkably athletic, and an attractive all-Brenecian pin-up boy for the lasses. Macbeth exemplifies all that is virtuous about the Brenecian sports system, though he admittedly sullies that reputation somewhat by playing for the Sabrefell Moths. Still, it's a high-profile contract, and he's undoubtedly a star for the team.

9 - Brad KUEPPER - 26 - Sabrefell Moths (NSB)
Striker

Tall, raw-boned Kuepper first made the national team on a helicopter, when Edmund Pike looked to be out for most of the cycle. Since then, however, he's eclipsed the other centre-forwards, and his energy and all-round skill give him some remarkable depth.

11 - Miriam SPITFIRE - 24 - FC Brimstone (APX)
Left Winger

Spitfire's left foot is best described as 'catastrophically powerful', often tearing metaphorical furrows in the earth when she powers home a cross or a blistering shot. While strength and pace aren't strong suits, her stamina makes up for them. She'll run a whole match without suffering for it.

12 - Lara CALLAN - 24 - Ridgeway United
Left Winger

The offensive spirit and incisive mind behind Ridgeway's admittedly rather average attack. An unsubtle player, she's a specialist with long, direct crosses, rarely shooting herself or cutting inside, but she's capable of genuinely skilful maneuvres to get past opponents when necessary.

14 - Gareth FARRELL - 27 - Crisisbless (NSB)
Striker

An energetic centre-forward, Farrell's rugged good looks and classical heroic build point to a strong, physical, athletic playstyle that allows him to muscle through defenders like they weren't even there. He's at his best with the ball at his feet.

18 - Daniel SNOWDEN - 23 - Parrhesia United (NSB)
Right Winger

Snowden's really found his feet for Parrhesia. While not a natural goalscorer, he works tirelessly to get the ball down the field to those who are. While built fairly small, he's notoriously difficult to overpower, with a certain slipperiness about him.
1 - Felix Carrick (Violence Chariots, NSB)
20 - Stephen Mansfield (Northern Union)
21 - Franca Connell (Kingsgrove)

2 - Samantha Allbeck (AFC Treason, NSB)
3 - Clara Drummond (South Laithland, NSB)
5 - Gareth Mortlock (Ridgeway United)
6 - Magda Chartreuse (North Laithland, NSB)
15 - Bruce Morant (Raven River, NSB)
17 - Shay Blackwood (Crisisbless, NSB)
22 - Jack Dane (Ridgeway United)

4 - Fiona Sylver (Violence Chariots, NSB)
8 - Kurtis Aston (South Rathia)
10 - Ashleigh Twining (Crisisbless, NSB)
13 - Marlon Berkeley (Brookford Otters, NSB)
16 - Althea Chenoweth (Kingsgrove)
19 - Rhys Fontaine (Akabane United, MZY)
23 - Jonathan Irongate (Rozelle)

7 - James Macbeth (Sabrefell Moths, NSB)
9 - Brad Kuepper (Sabrefell Moths, NSB)
11 - Miriam Spitfire (FC Brimstone, APX)
12 - Lara Callan (Ridgeway United)
14 - Gareth Farrell (Crisisbless, NSB)
18 - Daniel Snowden (Parrhesia United, NSB)
Puppet of Nephara.

Jeru FC Roster

"The Cannons"

Formation: 4-4-2
Style Modifier: +2

Coach: André Vaillancourt-Bosquet.

Former NMS manager André Vaillancourt-Bosquet resigned early on in the second half of qualifiers after losing to Farfadillis and leaving the Paladins with no control over their qualifying fate. That said, he did manage the Paladins to a third-place finish in CoH 55, and he did rack up a full 9 points in the group stages of WC64. He will insist that the powers that be fund the side better before he takes the job, though. He got the job after an apprenticeship under Sol Kirkkegaard, and prior to that, he spent 16 years as an AMF on the Paladins and in the upper echelon of the NMSFL (admittedly non-scorinated.)

Assistant coach: Captain Israel Goldstein, serving member of the Jeruselem army

DEF (M,22) - Ziggy Zygon - Very ugly guy but effective
DEF (M,22) - Ginger Ganger - A clone of someone
DEF (M,22) - Sam Sontaran - Big solid short stout defender

MID (M,22) - Sid Scarecrow - Scrawny unpleasant fella
MID (M,22) - James Master - Always scheming and plotting
MID (M,22) - Great Intelligence - The brains of the team on the field
MID (M,22) - Dream Lord - Most of the team think he doesn't exist

Introducing the Furellum Turtles!
Furellum's senior squad have been totally overshadowed by the under-15 team, who are quickly turning into the Audioslavia of the junior footballing world, having lost in the final of the last two World Cups. Despite an unlucky set-back in the Baptism of Fire, where they were eliminated after the group stage on goal difference, the Turtles are looking to go far in the World Cup.

The Background
To the unaware, Furellum is nothing more then a small island at the mouth of the Taaru sea in Atlantian Oceania. However, this is only the tip of the iceberg, as it were. The vast majority of the country is situated in another dimension, accessible only through the magical bridge which connects the White Tower in Altsby and its otherworld counterpart, the Moonlight Tower, in Other Altsby. Furellum is a land of magic, soaked in ether which the wizards of the country bend to their will. The country is home to many different races, species of animals made sentient and human-like by some powerful magic long since forgotten. They have been here for time immemorial, but only since the medieval period have humans lived in Furellum, when it became a Grand Duchy of the Kingdom of Maalvia. Much of Furellum is still stuck in the middle ages, with modern technology only beginning to creep into the nation.

The Team
#1. Gregor Petrovich (Polar Bear) Goalkeeper
A dominating presence between the goal, Gregor relies on his massive bulk rather than agility to keep shots out. Seen as a solid choice for the team, he's inclusion as the starting keeper over Dumitrescu caused some eyebrows to be raised. Petrovich is especially good at rushes, and likes to use them, perhaps too often.

#2. Bronislav Mlaker (Badger) Centreback
Cute and Cuddly, Mlaker has also been voted the player most likely to rip your head off and spit down your neck. A player with a mean streak, Mlaker is a fierce competitor for the ball. He may give away a lot of fouls, but referees should be prepared for the consequences should they get on his bad side...

#3. Baldr Ionescu (Red Deer) Centreback
Baldr is the pin-up of the team, the one who gets all the ladies. He has often been accused of spending more time on his appearance then his sport, but their is no doubt that he is a good footballer, if not a great one.

#4. Fyodor Iosef (Horse) Right Back (Captain)
Solid, dependable and strong. Iosef ticks all the boxes for a defender. His gentle disposotion and calming influence on his team, especially Mlaker, has also led to him being given the captain's armband, a burden he does not bear lightly. Fyodor was also named as part of Baptism of Fire 53's "Team of the Tournament".

#5. Sorin Vladimirescu (Human) Left Back
Sorin is a minor member of the Maalvian Royal family, who rule over Furellum. As such he is often placed on a pedestal by the lower-class members of the team, even though their is nothing aristocratic about his nature.

#6. Igor Krupin (Weasel) Centreback
Krupin is the clever one on the team. Although the team rely on him for the tactics, Igor often uses his talent for his own purposes, such as committing sneaky fouls. Krupin rarely draws the ire of the referee, even with opposing players falling to the ground all around him. There are some who believe he could talk his way out of a murder charge, although this theory has never been tested.

#7. Symon Maksimov (Grey Wolf) Midfielder
Maksimov is one of the most technically skilled players on the team, and is well renowned for his ball control skills. Known as a friendly player, Maksimov plays clean, using his skills to avoid contact with opposing players.

#8. Robert Alexandrescu (Human) Midfielder
A multi-talented athlete, Robert plays a wide variety of sports. While the fittest player on the team, he only recently took up football, raising questions about his readiness to be on the national side.

#9. Germogen Sokoloff (Cheetah) Midfielder
The quickest player on the team by a long shot, Sokoloff is the key to the Turtle's attack. He has the speed to beat the opposing defence and the skills to find a penetrating pass to the forwards. If he has a weakness it is in his stamina, and he will rarely last a full ninety minutes without being replaced.

#10. Moisey Vaduva (Markhor Goat) Striker
He may look like an old veteran with his almost floor length beard, but don't be fooled. Moisey is a youngster at just nineteen, and as such plays a mostly supporting role in providing the more experienced and skilled Szczelaszczyk with scoring opportunities.

#11. Eleazar Szczelaszczyk (Leopard) Striker
The star of the national team, Eleazar is from a well known sporting family. His son Ezra was in the Under-Fifteen World Cup Squad, and his father was a pro-golfer on the Furellum circuit. Fast and flashy, Szczelaszczyk will be a big contender in the box, much to the despair of foreign commentators who are likely to have to repeat his last name.

The Reserves
#12. Volodya Dumitrescu (Hare) Goalkeeper
An unlikely choice for a goalkeeper due to his diminutive size, Volodya makes up for it with an impressive leap, good reactions, and a strong grip. He's fairy useless against short balls and penalties though, which is why Petrovich is the main keeper for the team.

#14. Vyacheslav Lagunov (Hippo) Defender
The number 13 is considered unlucky in Furellum, so Lagunov was given 14 instead. It doesn't seem to have made a difference to his luck though, as Lagunov has got to be the most clumsiest player ever to take to a field. On the national team mainly because two tonnes of flesh tearing down on you is intimidating for any forward, Lagunov is rarely called on for fear he may unleash chaos on the pitch. The only player in the history of Furellum football to score three own goals in a single match, his powerful kick might be a deadly weapon if only he could control it.

# 15. Marian Constantin (Elk) Defender
The polar opposite of Lagunov, Constantin is cool, calm and collected. The Turtle's usual fill-in defender, Constantin excels at precision tackling and passing under pressure, and is sure to have game time in the latter stages of most matches.

# 16. Nicolae Popescu (Human) Midfielder
The often overlooked player on the national side, Nicolae spends most of his time as the team's benchwarmer. Merely an average player, his redeeming quality is that he can, in a pinch, be convinced to play in defence.

# 17. Luka Zelenko (Leopard) Midfielder
The player usually called on whenever Sokoloff runs out of steam, Zelenko is a decent attacking midfielder. Suspected of being a feline hybrid and not a pure-blood leopard, Zelenko has the ability to jump nearly two metres in the air, a useful ability whenever the Turtles have a corner.

# 18. Havryil Petrov (Maned wolf) Forward
A man with a chip on his shoulder, Petrov is aggressive, confrontational, and emotional. While he may seem at conflict with himself, when he's in control he is a good forward with a powerful left footpaw that is sure to keep opposing keepers on their toes.

# 19. Boleslav Balan (Black Boar) Forward
Not a team player, Boleslav's usual attacking method is to get the ball and charge towards goal, regardless of any defenders that might get in his way. While this may work sometimes, more often than not he will be dispossessed or called for a foul, so he is usually kept on the bench. He's like a nuclear weapon: Lethal, but extremely dangerous to those who use it and only utilised as a last resort.

The Kits

The Stadium
There was some panic when it was discovered that Furellum needed a stadium to host games. Very few fields in the nation match WCC standards of size, pitch quality or even gradient (Ingridberg Minutemen's home field has one sideline 2 metres lower than the other). After much discussion, the FFA decided the best field in the country were the Duke's grounds in Altsby, and work was done to hastily erect seating and paint some lines on the grass. The newly named National Football Stadium is located in the grounds of the Duke's Palace in Altsby. For centuries generations of children have been sneaking onto this land to play football. With the growth of the game in Furellum, a local side, the Duke's XI Old Boys, claimed the park as their home ground. In reality, the park does not belong to them, as it is owned by the Duke and set aside for his exclusive use. But the Duke, as King of Maalvia, very rarely visits his far-off duchy, so the people have used the land with little fear of his finding out. The new seats can hold about 1000 people, and there is plenty of standing room for other spectators.

The Strategy
Formation: 5-4-2
Style: -4.5

Coach: Coach Slave CAUD87147 (Age 49, 10/14/1953)
Note: All birthdays listed in the Gregorian Calendar, which Lord Almighty Gregory claims to have invented, hence it bears his name. But it is just the regular Gregorian calendar. All dates are MM/DD/YYYY.

GK Gruelmaker 28589A (Age 32, 04/13/1981) (Executed after game 6 for allowing own goal)

Following a defection scandal at Beach Cup IX, all national team players have been thoroughly vetted for loyalty to Lord Almighty Gregory and their nation, to ensure they do not defect. Just in case, the secret intelligence agents whose names have been redacted are there.

By the way, in Gregoryisgodistan, only government VIP's have names. The rest just have titles and then their government ID sequences. Government ID sequences are the same for your whole life, but titles are not. For instance, Gruelmaker 28589A was known as Youth 28589A until he turned 18, then became Prune Farmer 28589A for two years, but is now Gruelmaker 28589A as he changed jobs. Please refer to our players by their full names as listed above at all times.

Godmod scoring events: Yes, go crazy.
Injure my players: Only one per match
Godmod injuries: Go crazy, yes, but again, only one injury per match.
Yellow card my players: Only one per match unless you give your players a commensurate number. For instance, you can give my players 2 yellow cards if you give your players 1.
Red card my players: Only one per match. Two yellows to the same player in the same match (resulting in a red) counts as a red but not as a yellow for the purposes of RP Permissions.
Godmod other events: Yes, just don't assassinate any politicians such as Lord Almighty Gregory. Attempted assassinations are fine, as are staged assassinations done with actors to make it look like you assassinated somebody else. (Costa Luna knows what I mean). And if you're doing anything too crazy, TG me to give me a heads up, but you don't need to wait for permission.

Nation Background

Mizuyuki (Japanese: 水雪 , Chinese: 水雪, Mizuyuki; formally 水雪国 Mizuyuki-koku, Shuixueguo, alternatively the Auroral Technocratic Union of Mizuyuki) is an amalgamation of eleven separate local regional governments into one discrete entity, commonly referred to as simply The Technocracy of Mizuyuki. Part of the region of Aurora along with regional neighbours Norvenia, Aurinsula and Skorzenia, Mizuyuki is regarded one of a select group of nations with the highest level of human development in the known world, scoring 0.902 on the Human Development Index (HDI) in 2013. The nation also plays host to several multinational corporations with a global presence, most notably the government run Sakura Japanese Cuisine, Paladin Cinemas of New Edom and Arcadia Initiative.

Stretching over 375,000 km2 in total land area, Mizuyuki is among the smaller nations in the Aurora area. However, it ranks among the most densely populated nations in the region, with an average population density of 438 people per square kilometre. Mizuyuki practises a form of government that is essentially a democratic technocracy combined with a unitary bicameral parliamentary system operating under a constitutional monarchy - a unique governmental system that has allowed the country to flourish and prosper years after its inception.

Even though Mizuyuki is officially recognised as a distinct sovereign entity, it is practically similar to a form of regional coalition among the eleven prefectures(県), which are further subdivided into seventy two districts(郡). As such, the prefectures are usually given a high degree of autonomy in performing their administrative functions; the federal government will only interfere in the prefectural administration if the need arises. Mizuyuki is currently under the de jure reign of Her Imperial Majesty Shirakawa Kirino, while the incumbent Premier, Reizei Mikoto, acts as the official advisor to the Empress as well as functioning as the head of government.

Team Background

Mizuyuki under Shirakiin Kurumi's tutelage has been a revolution so far. After Shirakiin took Ishikawa's place for the Market Cup held in Mapletish this edition, she masterfully led the team to a long run in the tournament, culminating in a pulsating 3-2 victory over a strong Ko-oren outfit in the final and lifting the Nova's first ever piece of silverware in the process.

Shirakiin is a very ideological coach when it comes to football strategy and tactics; as such, she has persevered with her brand of attacking, creative football throughout her reign at the top of Mizuyuki's footballing hierarchy. Shirakiin heavily emphasises the rapid recycling of possession from the back - it's not uncommon to see the ball being passed quickly from the defence to the midfield or forward line after possession is gained, without any dithering on the ball. However, there is a distinct personality to the team's attacking play - Mizuyuki usually breaks rapidly down the flanks before cutting into the middle. This can give them some trouble when they come up against a team who prioritises the battle for the center of the park, but in that case the two inverted wingers will switch flanks and start to bomb crosses in from wide with their favoured foot - the same goes for the wingbacks. The philosophy of Total Football is also given priority in Shirakiin's system, and Mizuyuki's players will regularly switch positions during open play, so a wingback may appear in the forward line, and a striker might track back to defend while leaving a winger up front as an auxilliary forward.

I also reserve the right to determine the length of any injury. Anything goes for Mizuyuki, so go ahead and cram every single outfield player into the box to park the bus!

Absolutely anything except career ending injuries and deaths. However, please note that I reserve the right to alter length of injuries if the need arises. Interest and fun is the name of the game, so if you can come up with interesting RP angles feel free to contact me and thrash it out. Questions, collaborations and telegrams (love 'em) welcome!

The Suns - National Football Team of Barunia

History
Some teams slowly appear on the international stage. Barunia exploded. After scraping through their group stage in Baptism of Fire 51, the Suns made it to the Quarter-finals before being eliminated by Nenets Autonomous Okrug, who went on to the final. Following on from that in World Cup 64 the Suns surprised everyone by coming second in their group, defying the odds against strong opposition, the loss of their captain, and a civil war that was going on at the time. Forced into a play-off match against West Angola for a place in the World Cup, the Suns faced disappointment as they were torn apart by the more experienced side. Having since participated in another World Cup qualifying campaign and two Cup of Harmony's, the Suns feel that this year is their time to qualify.

Staff
Coach: Stephen Wiggens
Wiggens has been with the Suns since the beginning. A coach with a strong focus on teamwork, he has been the driving force behind the Suns style of play. Rumours circulate that this may be his last tournament with the national side, but Wiggens has yet to make a statement on the matter.
NB: As is typical of football teams in Barunia, the Suns do not have a manager. The Coach is responsible for managing the team.

Assistant Coach: Joric Ruskin
The man, the legend. The Sun's captain during the Baptism of Fire, Joric played a single game in the inaugral World Cup campaign before departing the team suddenly. It later transpired that he had left to join the Socialist army in the civil war. His career as both a footballer and solider came to an abrupt end when he lost his legs in a grenade attack. Now confined to a wheelchair, the former defender for the Marion Hawks has found a new career as a football coach, including as the assistant to the national team.

Team Psychologist: Lucy Morgan
On the team solely for the purpose of keeping Victor Castolo together, Lucy was Victor's private psychologist before being called upon to join the team on tour.

Goalkeepers Names in Blue are normal starting line-up
No Name Pos Age Team
10 Michelangelo Willans GK 27 Goodfeather FC (New Sideburn)
25 Sam Garcia GK 24 Northern Tridents
35 Billy Meyer GK 26 Edwardton Eagles

Michelangelo "Mic" Willans has been with this squad since the beginning, and is the most experienced keeper in the Suns line-up. Willans is an instinctive player, positioning himself and picking his rushes with excellent precision. Billy Meyer, goalkeeper for current the domestic champions, returns for his second campaign, while Sam Garcia returns after missing out on 65, replacing the out-of-favour Tobias Forrest.

Defenders
No Name Pos Age Team
29 Pacifique Tsebo RB 20 Northern Tridents
22 Julian Millet CB 29 Western Orcas
8 Lucio David(vc) LB 25 Marion Hawks

15 Paulo Jensen RB 24 San Baptiste Sea Lions
4 Tommy Clinton LB 19 Porthaven United
6 Carl SIlva CB 26 Monte Sol Warriors

Paulo Jensen makes World Cup debut this year, replacing the retired Andre Lopez. Wearing the same number as his former Sea Lions teammate, Jensen will have big shoes to fill. Silva is the only player here to play in the second tier of Barunia's domestic league, although Monte Sol are a real chance for promotion this year. Tsebo, Millet, David and Clinton are all old hands, having been here since the BoF. David was recently selected to be vice-captain by Joric Ruskin, a man he considers to be his hero.

Midfielders
No Name Pos Age Team
27 Horatio Montoya LM 28 Ponyville United (Equestrian States)
11 Harry Centena(c) CM 27 Tildos Ravens
26 Cedric St. John RM 25 Frostmarris (Icemark)
23 Bhara CDM 23 Tildos Ravens

36 Johnathon Haynes LM 22 West Bay Mariners
12 Georgio Bezana RM 25 Marion Hawks
32 Damien Crook CDM 23 Western Orcas
30 Arthur Wood CDM 26 Coco Bay Capital AC (Taijan)
7 Mark Hardy CAM 22 Edwardton Eagles

The midfield is unchanged from the group that contested the 57th Cup of Hamony. There is plenty of depth here, with players like Harry Centena, now firmly entrenched as Ruskin's successor to the captaincy, long-haired Montoya, known for his ability to score headers from set pieces, and Johnathon Haynes, the rising star left winger, whose partnership with Yohan Marris has made West Bay a real contender. Bhara is a natural with the ball and the defensive midfielder strategy was based around him. It has become so important to the team formation that veteran Arthur Wood was called up during the WC64 campaign to cover the position. Damien Crook can double as an extra defender, while Mark Hardy remains in the side after coming in to cover the injured Gregory Plant during CoH 57.

Forwards/Strikers
No Name Pos Age Team
14 Pablo Zokora ST 24 Northern Tridents
21 Fabrice Sagoro ST 22 Western Orcas
37 Yohan Marris CF 20 West Bay Mariners

9 Victor Castolo ST 25 Porthaven United
5 Timothy Featherstone CF 22 Tildos Ravens
13 Danil Samson ST 21 San Baptiste Sea Lions

After a mental breakdown during the 57th CoH, superstar forward Victor Castolo has been relegated to the bench for this campaign. Despite being Barunia's leading goalscorer, Wiggens has not been prepared to risk Victor in his uncertain mental state. Instead, Veteran forward Pablo Zokora will take his place as the right forward, with young star Yohan Marris taking the centre forward position. Sagoro and Featherstone also return, while Danil Samson is on a mission to do one better than his sister Vanessa, who won a gold medal at the Orean olympics as part of the field hockey team.

Formation, Tactics and Set Pieces
Image

The Suns play a 3-1-3-1-2 formation, using specialised midfielders to provide extra offence or defence when needed. Typical Barunian play involves short passes through the midfield, working the ball up to the strikers. Attacks may be made by the two or three players, with the attacking midfielder (sometimes a centre forward) often pressing forward on goal. In defence, the Suns rely on a three layered defence, with the defensive midfielder as the first line. Should he be beaten, the right and left centrebacks come into play. The third layer is the centreback, who rarely leaves the box. The Suns do not employ an offside trap.

Penalty Takers: V. Castolo; F. Sagoro; C. St.John; P. Zokora; T. Featherstone; H. Montoya; Y. Marris; H. Centena; D. Samson; M.Hardy
Left Corner: H. Centena; J. Haynes; Bhara

United Stadium has undergone a transformation in recent years, and is now the largest stadium in Barunia. Located in the nation's capital, it is the home of Porthaven United, the most successful team in Barunia's history. This is the first time United Stadium will host all Barunia's home matches, much to the dismay of interstate fans, especially those in Northport-San Baptiste, where World Cup games have been held in both 64 and 65, and considered the sacred heart of Barunian football.

Old Guard National Football Team

Style: -3

Cultural Quirk: Old Guardians have an odd way of giving names, they are given a first name when they are born, and then given a characteristic at the age of seven to complete there name, eg. Steven the Great.

COACHING STAFF
Manager: Sanderstal the Almighty, 40
Record in charge of NT: Pd 6, 0-3-4, 6 Goals For, 12 Against, -6 GD
Sanderstal's first competition in charge of the national team was an unmitigated disaster, but that won't mean he is likely to get sacked, the people of Old Guards expectations are permanently low, so it didn't matter what happened.

Assistant: Tim the Bored, 42
Sanderstal brings with him to the job his number two at Old Guard Regiment, Tim the Bored, a man saddled with an unfortunate end prefix like so many in Old Guard. However, he is in truth quite energetic, and tries his best to animate teams under his control to achieve new levels of greatness.

PLAYERS
#1 - GK - John the Large, Aged 33, Barbury Town (APX), 35 caps, 1 goal
John the Large is a stalwart of the team, having been one of the few remaining members to be present from the beginning. He is also one of the more experienced team members, with 35 caps to his name, he understands how it all works well. He accepted a move to Barbury Town 5 years ago and hasn't looked back since, playing well in the top league in Apox, recently well enough to get Barbury into the UICA places. He has announced that this tournament will be his last.

#2 - RD - Endellion the Hewn, Aged 25, FC Endeavour (APX), 6 caps, 1 goal
Endellion is fast becoming one of the best players for the Old Guard national team, playing to a high standard both internationally and domestically, with top Apoxian club FC Endeavour. He is now reaching his prime and will be pivotal this campaign for Old Guard.

#3 - CD - Og the Troll, Aged 41, Hudd Rovers, 17 caps
Og is quite literally a troll, not just a very ugly person, and due to his increased height and weight, a large presence in defense. However, trolls are very slow and often clumsy, so he is quite easy to manoeuvre around, providing he doesn't hit you, which will almost definitely cause some form of minor injury (he averages around one yellow card a game). He is really quite a big softy though, and won't injure people on purpose. He plays for the club Hudd Rovers, from the town Hudd, which has the largest troll population base in Old Guard. Trolls have longer lifespans than humans, so Og won't be likely to retire until he is about 45.

#4 - LD - Jason the Argonaut, Aged 27, Oldem Gents Club, 15 caps
Jason has been recalled to the starting line-up from the bench, now that he has matured more as a player, and goes on epic, but ultimately futile runs with the ball that often end up further away from the opposition goal than he started about 5 minutes after receiving the ball. He recently enjoyed promotion to the second tier of the Apox League system with Oldem Gents Club.

#5 - DM - Richard of France, Aged 32, FC Brimstone (APX), 35 caps, 3 goals
By now a veteran of the Old Guard national team, Richard of France is a superb holding midfielder, with a good eye for a pass around the field, and this skill has only improved with time. He is another recent mover jumping ship from Guardian clubs, moving up two divisions from Moscva 2k12 to FC Brimstone for the 573 season.

#6 - DM - Dan the Man, Aged 29, Old Guard Regiment, 10 caps
Under Sanderstal, Dan looks likely to remain in the starting line-up for some time, which can only be good for his development. He is still playing with Old Guard Regiment, surprising as he could definitely move up a league in the ANL league system should he want. He is a great workhouse, charging from one end of the pitch to the other.

#7 - RM - Jooles the Sophisicated, Aged 30, Barbury Town (APX), 32 caps, 3 goals
Jooles oozes class as you can tell by his name, even playing badly on purpose if he thinks it'll make him look more sophisticated. However, he does have genuine skill and can liven up any game he become a part of. Be warned though, he likes only specific chants to be done for him, and prefers a polite round of applause or gentlemanly cries of "I say!" or "Jolly good!" as encouragement, or he can go a little off the rails.

#8 - CM - Sam of Charlfont, Aged 23, St George's Creek, 4 caps
Absolutely key in St George's Creek promotion to the top tier of the Apox National League, Sam is a very clever player, not being the most active but being able to pick out a good pass. He topped the assists column in the ANL2 last season, so expect to see him creating many of the goals Old Guard score.

#9 - LM - John the Awesome, Aged 34, Oldem Gents Club, 46 caps, 4 goals - VICE CAPTAIN
John is truly a legend of the team, and he is the current caps record holder, after playing in most of the matches the team have participated in. He not as fast as he used to be, but I bet he could still outrun a fair few right backs, even now. This will be his last tournament, another of the "old team" who will be reaching the end of his tenure now.

#10 - ST - David the Heroic, Aged 27, TP Indians, 28 caps, 4 goals
David is approaching the peak of his career, and so he'll be glad of a few more opportunities to add to his modest international scoring record, which he hasn't quite managed to transfer across from his electric form domestically. He plays for the small club of TP Indians, but appears happy enough there for the moment.

#11 - ST - Xav the Fast, Aged 33, Gwinevra Barbarians (APX), 40 caps, 13 goals - CAPTAIN
What a legend. Xav has been the captain, star player and record goalscorer of Old Guard for quite some time now, and was the first Guardian to play overseas, for at the time, title contenders and winners, Gwinevra Barbarians of Apox, where he is a first team starter in their squad. He is one of the many ageing players in the squad, but has assured everyone that he has no intention of retiring in the near future.

#12 - GK - STEVEN, Aged 27, TP Indians, 3 caps
STEVEN was found floating out at sea when he was younger, and gave no name for himself apart from STEVEN, and refused to tell anyone why he was floating out at sea in the first place. Since then he's always been quite reclusive, but took to football as a keeper, and has since been discovered to be quite good.

#13 - DF - Aquart the Unusual, Aged 28, Moscva 2k12, 6 caps
Aquart refuses to wear football uniform for matches or training, preferring and insisting on wearing some sort of medieval dress which is in team colours. However, he is a pretty strong tackler, and will not hesitate to bring a player down if he feels it to be necessary. The only flaw with that, is it is often not, and therefore he tends to get quite a few fouls when playing.

#14 - DF - Cath the Uncontrollable, Aged 32, Don't Panic FC, 1 cap
Cath is a raging lunatic on the field, and has remarkable stamina - she never seems to stop running, much to everyone else's concerns. This can be a hindrance and a help, as she will often run into her opponents, somehow tackling them, but similarly has been known to tackle members of her own team, which is less ideal.

#15 - MD - Kay the Sideways, Aged 25, Oldem Gents Club, 10 caps, 1 goal
Kay is a player like no other, she literally runs sideways, which is at the same time hilarious and brilliant, and is how her only international goal cam about, she was substituted on, and scoring running in to a corner, where she was already at the right angle to score.

#16 - MD - Marcus the Bright, Aged 23, St George's Creek, 1 cap
Marcus is actually quite a normal person and player, and has managed to get a call-up purely because he's actually just good enough. He has good technique, and his stamina and fitness is improving all the time. He recently completed a transfer from lowly Don't Panic FC to the high flying St George's Creek, a team which he helped gain promotion to the top league of the ANL league system last season.

#17 - ST - Maximillion the Codger, Aged 21, St George's Creek, Uncapped
Maximillion has impressed greatly in the Apox National League, especially last season where his goals led to St George's Creek being promoted to the top tier, the first Old Guardian club to have that honour. He replaces the legendary Jeff the Great, his retiring clubmate at St George's Creek.

#18 - ST - Ug the Troll, Aged 33, Hudd Rovers, 1 cap
Ug is Og's sister, and she's in the team for when a tall striker is required to head and kick troubling balls at the opposition goalie.

My opponent, if they RP first, may do the following:

Name: Luzvimindia Eagles

KPB Points: 5.06

"Quebral kicks and... blocked! Blocked! Blocked by the Felixan goalkeeper! Viggo Tyko has just blocked the final penalty shot from Luzvimindian defender Angelo Quebral! Felix goes on to the semi-final round with a score of 9-8!"

These were the words that stunned the whole nation as the final penalty kick from defender Angelo Quebral seemingly lands straight into Felixan goalkeeper Viggo Tyko's hands. The few seconds it took for the ball to travel made all the difference as the Luzvimindia Eagles went home that day, brokenhearted. In the words of the Luzvimindian National Football Team Head Coach Paulo Julian Nepomuceno right after the game, "The win was so close, and yet now seems a bit too far." But this would not be the end of Luzvimindia's woes in the world of international soccer. A few weeks later, Luzvimindia would land with a 5-5-8 standing in the 65th edition of the World Cup, a full 7 games behind the qualifying teams of Group 11. Although not much was expected of the Luzvimindian team heading into the World Cup 65 playoffs, it was still a sub-par performance from the team after placing 8th in the Group of 16 in the Baptism of Fire; which just goes to show that the World Cup is leagues away from the Baptism of Fire.

Despite these difficulties in the first international football competition Luzvimindia ever went to, Luzvimindian Football Association (LFA) President Renato Delos Santos believes that the national team will place better in this edition of the World Cup. Whereas the team was still being knit together in the previous BoF and WC editions, Delos Santos says that all that has changed for the better in this edition of the World Cup. Through the committee that was charged to oversee the training progress of the team in the two months resting period between the 65th and 66th WCs, Delos Santos is now confident that Luzvimindia would put up a better fight in the Qualifying Round and would end at a better spot than last edition's dismal 7th place finish in Group 11 and a 144th position in the KPB rankings. Delos Santos has also put down rumors that the LFA booted some players and staff from the national team and confirmed that the team would remain as it was in the previous edition of the World Cup.

In connection with this, below is the final roster of the Luzvimindian National Football Team or the Luzvimindia Eagles.

Coaching Staff:
COACH: Paulo Julian Nepomuceno, 46 - Maynila City Football Club (M.C.F.C.)
Coach Nepomuceno or Coach PJ to those close to him, has been a coach for over 10 years. Prior to that he was also a trainer from 1990-1996 with the Baguio Football Club (B.F.C.) and an assistant coach from 1996-2001 with the Olongapo Rockets in their LFC championship win, first over the Sugbuano Football Club (S.F.C.) in 1997, 4-1, then over the Angeles City Angels in 2000, 2-0. He was then transferred to the Maynila City Football Club in 2001 leading them to a 4-peat LFC championship from 2008-2012, one of only three teams to do so in the LFC. Coach PJ is known for his 4-3-2-1 "Christmas Tree" formation (or what he personally calls the Imperial formation in reference to the Star Wars battleship) as well as his 4-5-1 defensive formation. He is also known for being the first head coach of the Luzvimindian National Football Team, leading Luzvimindia to the 8th place in the Group of 16 in the 52nd Baptism of Fire but later losing to Felix ending Luzvimindia's run for a semi-final spot in the BoF. He would also lead Luzvimindia to a 5-5-8 finish in Group 11 in the 65th World Cup.

ASSISTANT COACHES: Jaime Ferrera, 41 - Palawan Frontier Football Club (P.F.F.C.)
Assistant Coach Jaime Ferrera is no stranger to the world of football. He was a player for the Palawan Football Club from 1993-2007, before retiring at the age of 35. Jaime would later be called up to be the assistant coach of the Palawan Frontier Football Club (renamed in 2005), from 2008-2010 and is currently the head coach of the P.F.F.C. He would lead the team to its best place yet in the LFC, becoming the 1st runner-up in 2011, losing to Coach PJ's team at the championships match, 3-1. He is known for specializing in the 4-5-1 defensive formation, helping to improve this formation with Coach PJ later on in the 52nd Baptism of Fire for the Luzvimindian National Football Team.

Juan Carlo Dela Cruz, 40 - Dabaw Football Club (D.F.C.)
Assistant Coach Juan Carlo Dela Cruz or Coach Jecs to his players and staff became widely known in Luzvimindian Football for nearly outstripping the Maynila City Football Club from its coveted 4-peat championship trophy back in 2012. After the D.F.C. scored 2-0 against the M.C.F.C. it seemed like Maynila City will be tasting defeat for the first time in 4 years. However, after a severe collision between two of Dabaw's best players, Ronald Biag and Sammy Tomas, forcing them to leave the game due to injury, Dabaw was stripped off its offensive engine and Maynila City would go on to win the game, 3-2. Prior to being the coach of the D.F.C., Coach Jecs was a player for the Kagayan de Oro Football Club (K.O.F.C) from 1995-2006. After suffering from repeated injuries in his last year as a player for Kagayan de Oro, he opted to end his career as a player and ended up as a consultant for the coaching staff of the K.O.F.C. until 2008. He would later become the assistant coach of the D.F.C. from 2009 and head coach in 2010 which was under reorganization after performing badly in the LFC. He would later become the 2nd assistant coach to Coach PJ in the Luzvimindian National Football Team during the 52nd Baptism of Fire and 65th World Cup.

TRAINER: Jose Antonio Manuel, 37 - Sugbuano Football Club (S.F.C.)
ASSISTANT TRAINER: Karlo Josef Romero, 34 - Sugbuano Football Club (S.F.C.)

Line-up (All players have their last names as their name on the jersey)
Goalkeepers

#8 Gabriel Trillañes, 29 - Maynila City Football Club (M.C.F.C.)

Gabriel Trillañes, or Gabby to his teammates, is a widely-known sensation in Luzvimindian soccer. He was team captain of his high school's football team in 1999-2000 and later became co-captain of the Maynila University Greens from 2002-2005. In 2007, he would be drafted by the M.C.F.C. and would become its team captain from 2010. Aside from this, he is known for being the youngest starting goalkeeper in M.C.F.C.'s long history at the age of 25. He would go on to lead the club to its 4-peat championship and is dubbed "The T(h)riller" by the media. He was consistently part of the Mythical 11 from 2010-2012. During Luzvimindia's debut in the BoF and the WC, he became the co-captain of the national team.

He joined the Olongapo Football Club in 2000 having a stellar performance when he was in high school and college being nicknamed, "The Olongapo Beast" or "The Olongapo Phenom". In his first year as part of the team, Olongapo would go on to win a championship in the LFC, under the guidance of Coach PJ. He would go on to win the rookie of the year award and become part of the Mythical 11 from 2001-2012, the 3rd longest player to be part of the Mythical 11 in the history of the league. He would also become team captain of the O.F.C. from 2005-2012. Despite Olongapo failing to enter into the championships since 2003, Rizal continues to push with his team falling in 4th place last year, being beaten by the Sugbuano Football Club. Delos Santos also gave updates for the renovation of the Maynila City International Stadium which is to be used once more in this edition of the World Cup. Learning from the 65th World Cup, the stadium's capacity was increased from 50,000 to 65,000 seats. Delos Santos hopes that this would be enough to cope with the growing number of soccer fans coming into Maynila to watch the World Cup in action.

Image
Maynila City International Stadium

Maynila City International Stadium
Capacity: 65,000
Constructed: 1997 (Renovated multiple times in 2001, 2007, 2012 and 2013)

The Maynila City International Stadium or MCIS is located a few kilometers inland from the Bay of Maynila, at the southern periphery of the central business district of Maynila City. It was constructed in 1997 after two structural collapses, in May 22, 1994, in the Cruz National Stadium caused the deaths of 98 spectators during a Luzvimindia Football Cup Championship match. Later, two renovations would follow that would increase the initial capacity of 32,000 to 50,000. In 2012, during Luzvimindia's debut in the World Cup, the stadium was once again renovated, increasing parking capacity and the number of commercial spaces within the main stadium compound, but problems in overcapacity soon arose after the first few World Cup games leading to another renovation, increasing the capacity from 50,000 to 65,000 seats for the 66th World Cup.

The MCIS is connected by monorail to the Maynila International Mall Complex near the bay area and the Luzvimindia National Park. It is also connected to other parts of the city and the surrounding metropolitan area through a rapid transit system locally known as the MRTS (Metro Rail Transit System). On the other hand, it is connected to the Maynila International Airport via the MRTS and a high speed rail system. Buses also have a terminal inside the compound itself.

With that, I wish our national team good luck once again in the 66th World Cup. As of today, there is no definite date for the first day of matches but it will most likely be anytime next week. According to the hosts of the 66th World Cup, qualifying groups will be drawn on the 15th of September, 2013 (but this will be the 16th here in Luzvimindia) and that we should expect the announcement for the first day of matches, three days after the groups are drawn so we are currently looking at a 19-22 start for the 66th World Cup. Anyhow, see you guys in my next update!

Hutt River WC66 roster

Manager - Albert Müller, 40
Albert Müller becomes permanent manager of the national side for the start of the World Cup. Having played for a number of clubs in Hutt River, starting at Diesdorf before moving onto Kleinestadt, South Bury, Ipelandic club Walkden, and Gehenhöhle, before ending his career at Downham, as well as making a few national appearances. For a short period, he was manager a Downham, managing to save them from relegation at the end of last season.

Müller keeps almost all the squad from the AOCAF, making some changes in the starting 11 including replacing goalkeeper Roland Zimmerman with 23 year old Jack Stafford, after apparently impressing the manager during pre-WC training. Jim Bexley moves to his usual left wing position, while Max Fink is dropped to the reserves, as Müller changes his tactics once again.

Republic of Welsh Cowboy
World Cup 66 Roster

Standing in Independence Stadium, in Humdeia, the capital city of Welsh Cowboy, after bringing home a trophy from Welsh Cowboy's first ever international football competition, captain Alec Vordeau said he felt "like an explorer just starting his journey."

Without a doubt, the 53rd Baptism of Fire was almost a perfect tournament for the Welsh Cowboy national football team. The team tore through the group stage, winning all five games, before winning game after game in the knockout rounds. First, it was Callumackbar, then the quarterfinals brought victory over Åsløtten-Bëðerbørg så Česky, before another win against Crystal Ponies, and then finally a glorious 3-1 defeat of The Paradystopi Lymryk Isles, clinching the BoF trophy for the Roaring Dragons.

But, as every member of the team is quick to note, the Baptism of Fire should not be this team's crowning achievement. Manager George Pingrell, while realistic about his team's chances in this World Cup, declared that he "expected the team to make everyone in Welsh Cowboy proud" and "carry the great nation that is Welsh Cowboy onto the world stage." It is unclear exactly what would accomplish these somewhat lofty goals, and Pingrell refused to elaborate, but as he said: "We'll know we're at the top of the mountain when we get there."

The squad and coaching staff remain unchanged, although Pingrell noted that 19-year old Patrick Teller has the potential to overtake either Lucas Burns or Anders Klepner on the starting eleven.

Independence Stadium is by far the largest football stadium in Welsh Cowboy, at full capacity holding around 62,500 people. The stadium was built just three years ago, as rumors began to swirl that high-level football might come to Welsh Cowboy. It has only hosted one official game: the home leg in the 1st Prime Minister's Cup, and while the game was sold out, the fans did not impress many observers, at least for their noise. The fans will be there, but it's unlikely that you'll be able to hear them.

GOALKEEPERS

1 - Joe Jackson - New Capetown Falcons 14 Caps, 23 Years Old
Back for his first full campaign as the starting keeper, Joe is out to prove that he is the next in the line of Great Taeshani goalkeepers. Joe has a nature that many think lends to him being a long time starter for the national team, and the next great leader for the team.

23 - Logan Watson - X Island Marauders 7 Caps, 25 Years Old
The second stringer for the national team, Logan will be the man waiting in the wings in case of injury or a sudden drop in form.

25 - Jacob Martin - Atlantea Hurricanes 4 Caps, 26 Years Old
The former U21 keeper and now third stringer on the national team, Jacob Martin is also a capable keeper in his own right.

DEFENDERS

3 - CB, Jordan Jaffacake - Moresville FC 119 Caps, 7 Goal, 27 Years Old
The big center back is back for more, and hopes to continue his dominating play on the defensive end of things. With continued work in the gym and a new hairdo everyone can not wait for the big man to make his presence felt on both ends of the pitch.

4 - RB, Peter Fasnacht - Los Riosa Monstas 73 Caps, 27 Years Old
The speedy Right back Peter Fasnacht is back for more as well. With noted improvement in his club performance and a continual work ethic, Fasnacht is sure to spark many an offensive movement in the coming world cup qualifers.

7 - LB, Jeremiah Longwaters - FC Gordonopia (United Gordonopia) 116 Caps, 1 Goal, 26 Years Old
On the left side is another fireball wingback type player in Jeremiah Longwaters. Many think he may be the more defensive minded of the two wingbacks, but he still provides a brilliant play moving forward.

9 - CB, Lydie - Moresville FC 118 Caps, 5 Goals, 27 Years Old
The defensive general of the Knights, the only female in the starting lineup Lydie is a fan favorite and a fireball in her own right. With a new number for the first time since joining the team, and a seemingly new take on life, Lydie is sure to continue to impress in the coming season.

2- Eddie Styles - Mt Ceabring Thunder 56 Caps, 1 Goal, 28 Years Old
After an impressive performance at the Copa Rushmori, Lefty Eddie Styles is looking to continue to impress on the practice field, continue to be the top defensive pick of the bench, and hopefully for him push for some starting chances.

15 - Grant Wetter - SK Aasiaat Harbour (Polar Islandstates) 43 Caps, 28 years Old
Also impressing in the Copa was Center Back Grant Wetter. A viable option and a slippery man on set pieces, Grant hopes to continue to push for his own amount of playing time.

21 - Gloria Walters - Gilley FC (Saugeais) 37 Caps, 28 Years Old
The second fullback of the bench and the second and final female on the team Gloria has a lot to prove and really hopes to get her own chance in the sun.

MIDFIELDERS

6 - CM, Aaron Conrad - Blacklake Blues 58 Caps, 3 Goals, 28 Years Old
A very smart looking few years from Aaron Conrad and hes back and looking to continue his impressive form. With an eye for the last pass and a knack for creating chances the pivot of the Knights midfield is obviously Mr. Conrad.

12 - RM, Andrew Müller - Arçon (Saugeais) 59 Caps, 1 Goal, 27 Years Old
The sparky winger will have more of a chance to be just that now with the dropping of the diamond formation for a straight up 4-4-2. With a nice amount of speed and acceleration defenders around the world should wary for his upcoming attacks.

13 - CM, Tyler Icicle - Tintown Terrapins 52 Caps, 1 Goal, 28 Years Old
With a basically perfect performance at CDM in the Copa, Tyler Icicle cemented his spot on the field and looks to be the deep lying playmaker for the Knights. With an ability to cover the back for and move forward, he will pair with Conrad to make a very scary central midfield.

22 - LM, Jeremi Krieder -Ojian Orangemen 15 Caps, 25 Years Old
The youngest starter not in goal, and the least amount of caps not in goal is the Left midfielder. With another player with speed and also powerful play in the air, Krieder is a dangerous future star on the left side.

11 - Mark Tlumach - New Capetown Falcons 23 Caps, 2 Goals, 24 Years Old
A speedy winger off the bench, and a viable option in the middle as well, Tlumach is a many tooled player and will likely see a lot of time off the bench in the qualifiers.

14 - Grant Fauejeau - Fadron Flight 0 Caps, 22 Years Old
Still without a cap, Fauejeau seemingly has caught the eye of new gaffer Alexandre Giroux, but is unlikely to see much time. If he does it will really be little more than a cameo, and many wonder why he is on the team so young with many good other options.

17 - Karl Llana - Bayern-Algaer 3 Caps, 24 Years Old
Also along for the ride is Karl Llana. Mostly just to get experience with the national team as a future likely starter or bit player.

19 - Adain Nostradamus - Ojian Orangemen 1 Cap, 23 Years Old
A very fast wingback who can not only play on the wing but is a viable option for the defense and even possibly as a striker. He will not likely get much time, but for the future of the national team he is a likely star.

STRIKERS

8 - RS, Ender Wiggin - Nautico (Whirl Islands) 171 Caps, 85 Goals, 29 Years OldCAPTAIN
The real star of this team is right striker, Captain and illustrious long time starter and player Ender Wiggin. With a form on his club side rivaled by none and with a team filled with great players behind him this qualifying journey may be Ender Wiggin's biggest chance to shine, yet.

10 - LS, Brian Ibrahim - Canalave Dragons (Valladares) 100 Caps, 22 Goals, 27 Years Old
The fifth hundred cap player on the national team is the other striker Brian Ibrahim. Finally with a club after years of training on his own and basically being a full time national teamer, the striker continues to show an option if Wiggin finds himself occupied by double teams and many times comes through at the best times for the Knights.

5 - Kyle Laravy - Mt Ceabring Thunder 63 Caps, 7 Goals, 26 Years Old
A smart attacking option off the bench, and a speedy option as well Kyle Laravy is a very viable late game stud.

16 - Tyler Pantoum - Goidelic (Ancharmunn) 27 Caps, 9 Goals, 21 Years Old
The future of Taeshani attack is this speedy striker from the ranks of the U21 squad, but also a long time player and one of the few Taeshani's to be a life long soccer player and has long been making an impact in the Purple and Gold.

20 - Gregory Fawkes - Real Chinchinhua 6 Caps, 3 Goals, 24 Years Old
Another speedy striker type off the bench is Gregory Fawkes who has shown well in his chances for the B and full national squads.

24 - Skylar Crane - Mt Ceabring Thunder 20 Caps, 3 Goals, 26 years Old
The only real target forward type on the team is Skylar Crane. With a nose for hold up play and an ability to hold off defenders Crane is a very physical striker.

Felinetopia Pawball(Association Football) National Team Roster for Baptism of Fire 53

Baptism of Fire 53 could of went better for the felines after a wonderful group stage scoring 11 while allowing 2 goals. "These are the hardest working cats in Felinetopia. They put in 110% effort into practice and into the games. They bond very well despite the species tensions in the country, especially between the Cheetahs and the Lions. Ibramane and Meowsi are very close friends off the pitch despite competing for the same spot and tensions between their species" Nate Villo commented on the team. Meowsi and Pepperjack rose to the occasion and provided the goals and the leadership necessary to do well in these competitions. Meosi recorded 4 goals and 2 assist in BOF 53 while Pepperjack led the team and stood strong until the final whistle, even in the round of 16 where they eventually lost to Vaugania.

Stadiums:
Estadio de Paz (Capcity:34,530):
Located in the international capital, Kitten City; Estadio de Paz is the only human style all-seater stadiums in the nation with the upper bowl designated as the human visitor's section. Originally built for Beaverriverian club Kitten City prior to the Felines acquisition of the city, the felines living in Felinetopian's only city in the human realm has built the stadium to accommodate both human guests with stadium seats, cup holders, and free wi-fi; and Felines with scratchers, catnip, and empty boxes. The city itself is multi-specie city and the only city where any non-feline organism has the same rights as a feline in the country. The city host the majority of it's embassies located in the city and is the one of the largest port city in the region serving both Northern Beaverriver and the entire nation of Felinetopia. The city acts as a gateway to both the human realm and the feline realm. The border with Beaverriver is open as long as you pass through the portal or port security checkpoints. The Kitten City Outsiders are the primary tenants of the stadium with the national team using the stadium for matches against all non-ally nations.

for World Cup 66

Starters in bold:

Goal:
1. Haki Asgard - GK (35) - A solid goalkeeper, experienced and a natural leader. Co-captain behind Sobek Dehenat.
12. Eren Dauragur - GK (28) - On the squad after Ko-oren B's good run in the Market Cup. He's growing faster than Enshadilsa, and with Asgard aging, he might get some appearances.
23. Storm Enshadilsa - GK (26) - Biggest talent among Ko-orenite goalkeepers. He should be first goalie when Asgard quits.

Defensive:
2. Svarlamn Norn - LWB (27) - Energetic leftback, has good passing and is always looking for an offensive break.
3. Sobek Dehenat - CB (35) - Captain and biggest personality on the team. Calm and collected, experienced leader of the defense.
4. Lodur Nidog - RWB (29) - Slow player, but excellent in keeping strikers away from the ball.

13. Katanmak Juliasterinthen - CB (22) - Biggest defending talent. Learning the ropes from Dehenat, both in the NT and at the club.
14. Fuujin Iwaki - CB (27) - Reliable CB, though he hardly does anything outside of defense. Poor passing.
20. Futushi Musashi - RB (30) - Can play on either wing, slightly unreliable defender who's in the best of his years.

Midfielders:
7. Fin Fenner - RCM (31) - Central passing man on the team. Any attack is likely to start with one of his passes.
8. Susano Sanuki - LCM (29) - The most defensive of the five midfielders, sometimes acts as second central back next to Dehenat.

6. Nalaikh Bagaurunir - DM (22) - Was on the U-21 squad in the Di Bradini Cup. Despite the poor results there, he was called for the team.
16. Roluswishandin Erlenajaur - DM (23) - Inexperienced and it shows, needs to play a lot more important matches before he can play in the NT.
15. Bjarswind Napertnau - CM (24) - The next Fin Fenner. Excellent passing, can even take free kicks well.
10. Palnatoki Idrasil - RWM (29) - Quick winger, unpredictable and good at crosses as well as dribbling.
5. Thor Alfar - LWM (25) - Can give good crosses, but is too slow to get in that position often. He is very strong though, and can hold the ball well.
17. Pta Talmis - AM (26) - Passing man behind the strikers. Knows exactly when to give a through pass, pass to the wings, or pass back.

18. Esolywend Eregrent - AM (22) - Attacking midfielder who is also just as good on either wing. Can even play central midfielder.
21. Holbuligen Bohanan - AM (26) - Best man of the Market Cup squads, leading them to 3 consecutive 2nd places. Can play anywhere on midfield.

Attackers:
19. Izasul Terathu - RS (27) - His speed, enthusiasm and acceleration is unrivaled in this team. His first cycle as starting striker, he replaces the old Shiribeshi.
9. Naemasu Tokachi - ST (29) - Second striker behind Terathu. Most assists are by him, but he can score too.

11. Koyane Shiribeshi - ST (32) - Has been the first striker for years. Still has '11', as no one dares to take it from him. Lost his fine touch, but is still a very good attacker.
22. Uilta Bonangorthen - LS (25) - Called because Ko-oren is short on good strikers. Was in the Ko-oren B team, and was quite good there.

RP-ing without having to read/think?
Most likely to score: Tokachi - Terathu - Idrasil - Fenner - Alfar - Dehenat
Most likely to be booked: Norn - Sanuki - Nidog - Talmis - Alfar - Dehenat
Most likely substitutions:
Striker - striker: Terathu/Tokachi <-> Shiribeshi
Attacking midfielder - attacking midfielder: Idrasil/Talmis/Alfar <-> Bohanan/Eregrent
Defensive midfielder - defensive midfielder: Fenner <-> Napertnau, Sanuki <-> Napertnau, Erlenajaur
Defender - defender: Norn/Nidog <-> Iwaki, Dehenat <-> Juliasterinthen

Offensive sub: Fenner/Sanuki <-> Bohanan, Talmis <-> Shiribeshi
Defensive sub: Idrasil/Talmis/Alfar <-> Napertnau, Fenner <-> Iwaki/Juliasterinthen

Stadiums
-Stade St-Pierre, Lac-Drouin:
Seating 70,000, Stade St-Pierre is home to Lac-Drouin St-Pierre, the greatest Sicoutian football club team. It also hosted most of the team's qualifing games at World Cup 62. 63, 64, 65 and almost all home friendlies by the team are played here. Lac-Drouin is the capital of Sicoutimont, and balances a modern, new look with a medieval thrill to the older areas. It is home to 115 million people, and the city takes up almost 100km of space squared. Most people live in the subburbs of either Ile Perrot or Rapides-Drouin, which are off the island Lac-Drouin is situated on. The stadium is located just 4 blocks from the waterfront, on 7 Rue de Parliamentre, the most famous road in all Sicoutimont. Surrounded by huge buildings and 500m down the road from the Emperor's Palace and House of Parliament, you'll probably stay in the Imperial Hotel, the best hotel in all of the city, and possibly Sicoutimont.

-Pierre Beach Stadium, Pierre Beach
SportCity, Pierre Beach
The Monster, SportCity, seats 116,000 people for football matches. It is home to FC Pierre Beach and FC Cote, once a UICA qualifier. Outside, SportCity looks just like any large stadium. You have to go inside to get the real feel for SportCity. Underneath the stadium is literally Sport City. As Pierre Beach is a smaller, modern town, holding 31 million people, the businesses are relatively clamped together in this area. Pierre Beach is right along the coast, allowing for burning hot summer days, but also a tropical, rainy climate due to hurricanes. Condos, restaraunts, shops, all this can be found underneath SportCity. Tunnels take you around the city, and Gare-Centrale, the train station, is here, connecting you to Lac-Drouin in 4 hours. Your team will be staying in the Hotel du Waterfront-SportCity. It is an aboveground hotel, right on the waterfront. It connects to SportCity's underground via the hotel restaraunt, Chez-Pierre. Tropical Storms from the south-east are possible during the fall, but only 2 home games and any possibly play-off matches will be played at these times. If a particularly bad storm is approaching, the game will be relocated to Lac-Drouin.

Review
Last year, Sicoutimont hit a mark it hasn't reached before: the play-offs. But it wasn't enough, as they fell to Farfadillis, while Wight eventually took the championship. Much of that team is back here, with the starting XI having one new player: Jean de Terre, who was on last year's team, but didn't play more than 3 games as a sub. Looking at that XI, Pier-Luc Dion gets the nod in goal. He led his Mytanar club team to a Cup Final, but wasn't necessarily stellar. He'll have to regain his form, especially if Marc Denis has him over Bergeron in goal. Yves Savard, Neal Kent and Loic Leduc are this year's starting defenders. Savard and Leduc were must-haves, but it came down to the final day of camp to see whether it would be Kent or Fernard Girard in the position of centre defender. Leduc is a great 2-way defender, able to score but also a great defender. If Sicoutimont trail, look to see him play more aggressively near the front to help out the offence. Now, the midfields. Hans Richelieu returns as the left side mid, while Oscar de Orebale takes over the right side's business. Jean de Terre and Antoine Urbaille cover the middle, de Terre up over the centre line and Urbaille back more. Also look for de Terre, a great scorer in his own right, to move up near the end of games Sicoutimont are behind in. Up front, it's not really a surprise, with Giroux, Gannot, and Christopher Savard up front. Giroux and Gannot were obvious picks, the 2 best strikers that were born in Sicoutimont. Chris Savard was chosen over Georges Allonts in a tight decision, that could have gone either way and still been great. Giroux and Gannot will be the snipers on this line, with Savard functioning as a play-maker. Gannot may get more goals, as Girard Giroux in recent years has changed his game from dynamic offence to dynamic 2-way player, focusing on making plays and helping out on defence more than before. He'll still, however, get a lot. That's the team we've got. Injuries, should they happen, would see the probable substitution candidates join the Starting XI.

Schedule:
-The full game schedule hasn't been released yet. However, what is know is this:
-Tournament will take place from April to September 2021 in Qualifying, Play-offs in October 2021, World Cup in June and July,2022 and Cup of Harmony in July 2022.
-All Sicoutimont home games will take place on Saturdays. The second home game will take place on the national holiday, May 4 Day.
-Full schedule will be released with groups.
