I have to say, my favorite civil aircraft is the Piper Aztec, my dad has one. I have a few flight hours in it. It is a beast to handle though.. ;)

God, TJ, why;'d you have to bring that up? I'm still broken up about it.

attempts to make the BUFF a bit more stealthy. and tiger you see the knew varient in the books has the airborne laser in the nose. we could always create a toned down version using a lancaster or a flying fortress.

If it was legitimately trying to be stealthier, it wouldn't be carrying such a fuckload of missiles. You don't need a gross of every kind of AA missile in the world if you're all stealthed-up, and all that extra ordnance you're lugging around only makes it more likely to be detected, hence my "godmod" accusation. And, as TJ pointed out, the design is a bit...unworkable.

And yeah, I don't think we'll be seeing lasers in ES. Certainly not during WW2.

No I was thinking like the Escort 17's that the US airforce tested back before the mustang came out. basically loading a ton of guns onto a 17 or a lancaster. and to be fair on the EB-52's, those and the EB-1 lancers are the only heavy bombers left in the US airforce inventory. by this point in the series.

Ah. Well, I recall that those "gunship" bombers weren't too successful, but I do like the idea. Maybe we can find some super-specialized use for an XB-40 or something.

It went alright for the first few days, mortar barrages, snipers.

Since we were the "bad guys" we got permission to.....let the "civilians" know who's boss.

Like lining people up on a wall in the city and "executing" them.

NATO eventually won, Oh boy.....

Next event is this winter, I hear it's WW2 era eastern front.

we just did an full scale nerf war in my town (we have to use nerf guns so that the NYS troopers don't go ballistic.) north end of the island vs south the front line was whitehaven rd.
here is a map https://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&q=ma ... y&ie=UTF-8
we used FOB's as spawn points after you died. they were at the library, town hall and each of the schools(Huth, sidway, and keagebien elementary, as well as the high school/middle school). the main bases were Beaver and Buckhorne state parks
I was in charge of taking 20 guys to take the library over on Bedell rd, deep in NITO (Northern Island treaty organization, we were the Grand Island Resistance Army, or GIRA) territory. how we did it? well up until the after action report at 4 pm you didn't have to start at your main base, guess who's actions changed that? Well i'm a normal patron of the library so I stacked all my teams weapons in my car and waited at the library the rest of my team was at the soccer field across the rd. . As soon as the clock hit the official start time of ten, we were ready to defend it. there were three teams doing this.
Task force staley (my team) took the library
Task Force Love nuetralized the High school
Task force Alt took the Sidway elementary school (see why we had to use nerf guns)
between the three we effectively cut the NIRO's off from 60% of the island. There own commanders also shot themselves in the foot a lot. Here is the short list of screw ups:

Their overall commander refused to believe the three mentioned strikes had happened and continued to pump reinforcements into the effectively surrounded town hall point for a full hour. Which killed his reinforcemeants because they had to drive (or bike) almost to Buckhorne to respawn.

the company commander ordered to attck me did so using the two routes I had already plannedon defending. his main body (an 80 man 20 car motorcade, with him leading naturally) used the park road that had a 10 MPH speed limit, making them sitting ducks for my guys, only 2 cars managed to survive with out anyone killed and only 13 survived, the other 20 tried to rush a wodden bridge that had 4 mg's (we were all armed with automatic weapons) trained on it.

the commander attcking the highschool procceeded to trap himself by filing his men (those who survived runing across the football field under fire) into one of the two trails cut 4 feet deep into the hill behind the school (love was in the other trench 10 feet away. after the library was secured we went over there. the guy surrendered when he realized that we had 50+ mg's standing over him ready to finish him off.

the force at huth was facing the parking lot and never notice the attacking force comming out of the woods behind the school.

and their main defensive line for their base has centered on the idea that huth would hold, thus leaving a giant hole in it.
Battle ended with the GIRA winning at 3:30 PM.

Sounds cool.

What we had close to a city was a former michigan national guard barracks.
It looked like a warzone, NATO and Belgrovian forces were constantly tearing the place apart.

Yeah we had to deal with the town hal terraces apartment complex. TF Alt had to go back to help clear them out as they were the only available units that carried the firepower needed to cear the apartments out. from what they said, it was a good likeness to stalingrad without the destruction.
the closest i got was the high school parking lot, ever had to clear 60+ cars not fun. my squadsonly death came to some kid who hid in his trunk and came out sprayingwhen he heard us walk by. we procceeded to fill said trunk with darts.

Next round!

The Talbot Files, Part XIV: We Three (My Echo, My Shadow, and Me)
Date unknown, presumed 27 November 1940
Time unknown
SS detention center, location unknown

Through the courtesy of the Germans, Talbot had probably gotten about one hour of sleep over the last four days; not that it was a continuous hour of sleep, as he could only manage to nod off for a few moments at a time before some goon noticed and proceeded to bombard him with bright lights and loud, screeching noises. Finally, the door to the cell opened and two goons appeared to haul him off for interrogation.

Konrad was waiting in the interrogation room, and yelled something to the two guards as the door slammed shut behind them with a metallic clang; instead of being strapped to a chair as expected, Talbot found himself being held in a standing position by the guards.

“Herr Talbot, my generous offer still stands if you wish to accept it,” said Konrad as he circled around behind Talbot.

“Talbot, Flying Officer, 51389,” he replied defiantly. Grinning slightly, he went on: “See, I told you to ask the recording.”

“So you do not wish to cooperate?”

“No.”

He stopped behind Talbot. “Good, I was hoping you would say that!”

Suddenly, Talbot felt the guards grabbing his arms tightly and pulling them out to the sides, quickly followed by a hard blow to his injured shoulder. He cried out in pain as he struggled to keep on his feet.

“This does not have to happen!” said Konrad, “All you need to do is tell me the names of the members of your squadron, and the pain will stop!”

“Fuck off!” grunted Talbot in reply.

Another sharp blow landed on his shoulder. He cried out again, this time dropping to his knees before the guards pulled him back on his feet. Another blow, and he fell to his knees again; two more blows came in quick succession while he was still on his knees, followed by one blow so hard that it knocked him out of the guards’ grasp, causing him to fall face-first onto the floor.

“This is tiring work! I believe we could both use a drink of water right now, ja?” shouted Konrad before shouting orders to the guards. The goons pulled Talbot off the floor and dragged him over to a table, threw him on top of it, rolled him face-up, and began to fasten restraints to his arms and legs. Konrad walked up to the table and leaned in so his face was over Talbot’s. “I will give you another chance. Give me the name of the man that your commanding officer reports to, if you please.”

“Talbot, Flying Officer, 51389,” he replied, gritting his teeth as he tried to fight the pain.

Konrad said something in German, and one of the guards placed a hood over Talbot’s head; the next thing he knew, someone started pouring water over his head. Talbot tried holding his breath as long as he could, but eventually he had to take a breath; because of the wet hood, however, he was inhaling mostly water. He turned his head to the side to try and stop the water from dripping into his mouth, but as he tried to take another breath the guards poured more water over his head, causing him to inhale even more water. Talbot began thrashing desperately as he tried to breathe, whereupon he could hear Konrad laughing with delight and shouting something, which was followed by yet more water.

Just as Talbot was on the verge of drowning, the door swung open with a loud squeak and someone began shouting, followed by Konrad shouting in reply. The hood was whipped off of Talbot’s head, and a hand grabbed his forehead and turned his head so that he was facing up; Talbot saw a penlight being shined into his face as someone peered down at him; the man with the penlight was wearing a stethoscope around his neck and was in the midst of a rather heated conversation with Konrad. Eventually Talbot heard the sound of Konrad’s boots as he stormed off, apparently losing the argument with the doctor. The guards then released the restraints and began pulling Talbot up into a sitting position.

Off to the side of the room, Talbot heard a voice in the darkness: “You are lucky this time, Herr Talbot. The doctor is worried that I will kill you before you provide us with some useful information.” As the guards grabbed Talbot’s arms and pulled him from the table, he saw flashes of light and heard a crackling sound over in the darkened area of the room; turning to see what it was, he could just make out the shape of Konrad with an automobile battery connected to a set of jumper cables, which was sparking as he touched the two clips of the cable together. Konrad laughed as he saw Talbot look towards him. “But rest assured, Herr Talbot, I still have some other tricks up my sleeve, as you say!”
