That nose: because seeing the runway while landing and taxiing isn't necessary.
That tail: because we learned absolutely nothing from the Beechcraft Bonanza, and so Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, The Big Bopper, and a lot of doctors all died in vain.

attempts to make the BUFF a bit more stealthy. and tiger you see the knew varient in the books has the airborne laser in the nose. we could always create a toned down version using a lancaster or a flying fortress.

If it was legitimately trying to be stealthier, it wouldn't be carrying such a fuckload of missiles. You don't need a gross of every kind of AA missile in the world if you're all stealthed-up, and all that extra ordnance you're lugging around only makes it more likely to be detected, hence my "godmod" accusation. And, as TJ pointed out, the design is a bit...unworkable.
And yeah, I don't think we'll be seeing lasers in ES. Certainly not during WW2.

"B-52" and "stealth" go together like "1959 Cadillac Eldorado" and "subtle".
If anything, those high-bypass turbofans would return a larger radar signature.

No I was thinking like the Escort 17's that the US airforce tested back before the mustang came out. basically loading a ton of guns onto a 17 or a lancaster.

Working.
For my part, I'm split between Tempsford, the apps (which I just finished, admittedly), the Forging the Sword series, The Prisoner series, the OP for the next operation, and actually putting together the Excalibur Main Battle Plan (IE the plan for all of our future operations and the main plot threads, which is a fairly large undertaking in itself).
So...I have a lot on my plate.

But what about the others?
If no one objects, could I skip along to late night?

Ah. Well, I recall that those "gunship" bombers weren't too successful, but I do like the idea. Maybe we can find some super-specialized use for an XB-40 or something.Monfrox wrote:Sooooooooooooooooooooooooo what else is going on in Tempsford?

they failed as an escort, not as an weapons platform, we could use them as insertion/CAS.

You mean like GOram did?

Well, GOram just kinda went ahead and did it, and its still something that's going to have to be resolved.
But if you're asking me? I'd be fine with it. Just be prepared for blowback from all the not-me people.

It went alright for the first few days, mortar barrages, snipers.
Since we were the "bad guys" we got permission to.....let the "civilians" know who's boss.
Like lining people up on a wall in the city and "executing" them.
NATO eventually won, Oh boy.....
Next event is this winter, I hear it's WW2 era eastern front.

What we had close to a city was a former michigan national guard barracks.
It looked like a warzone, NATO and Belgrovian forces were constantly tearing the place apart.

no Royce isn't an REMF, he's RE but his track record does not show him to be an MF, and he will not be until he shows otherwise, Cutler is the REMF.
