WELCOME

This is your guide to the festivities and the fun making! This is the Second Annual Alpen View Beer Festival. If you hold this guide pamphlet in your hands, you are in our fair city of Burgunden, the main financial center and more importantly, the center for brewcraft in the Confederacy of Neu Engollon. It is by far, the largest city in the Confederacy, at over 14 Million and also happens to be the home to Burgunden Breuerie, the co-main organizer and one of the main sponsors of the event. The other organizer is the Neu Engollon Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport. You may find brochures and travel information on Burgunden and Neu Engollon at the ticket window, Gendarme Security Station, The Medical Station and at the Pavilion Help Desk. You may want to explore the rest of our peaceful, panoramic nation in your offtime or after the Beer Festival has ended. Also, any questions can be directed to our friendly help staff wearing special orange vests.

THE CITY

Some places to stay if you haven't booked a room yet in Burgunden:

* Presarius Plaza Hotel H$$$$
* The Menton H$$$$
* Destination Chateau Burgunden H$$$$
* Paradise Hotel H$$$
* Hayden Hotel H$$$
* Rock House & Studios H$$$
* Tell's Inn H$$
* Alpenhorn Tavern H$$
* Motel Mertach H$
* BB Hostel H$

We recommend against bringing rental cars to the Festival grounds, as laws on drunk driving are strict. There will be bus and metro train service throughout the night. There will be plenty of taxis, most of them provided by the St. James Cab Service. They will always be lined up outside the gates to take you back to your hotels. Also, watch for the green mini-van shuttles, as they have certain hours, but are free shuttles to many of the hotels in the premier hospitality district of Burgunden.

THE GROUNDS

Confederacy Park is almost as old as Burgunden itself. The grounds are layed out simply with the main stage and the Pavilion in the middle and the participants' tents, aid station, security station and port-a-john stations around the walls of the park enclosure. Pavilion admittance will only be for VIP guests and special ticket holders. Again, please utilize our friendly staff in the orange vests for directional questions.

THE BREWERS

The brewers are some of the best from around the globe and have brought their craft to show off in the backyard of Neu Engollon's premier brewing City. They have submitted a selection of their best offerings for the judging. They will also be serving most of these selections as well as many other surprise selections at their tents located throughout the grounds in various sizes, such as 3oz samplers, 8 oz glasses, 16 oz pints and some may even offer take home growlers or 4-6 bottle packs, or cases. Many will also be serving examples of local cuisine and merchandise from their brewery, as well as some other non-beer, alcohol oriented offerings. Check their tents, as pricing and menus should be posted.

THE JUDGING

The main purpose of the Beer Festival is to have a fun, friendly competition for many of the top beers, ales and lagers from around the world. There are 14 Categories in which beers will be judged, with a couple categories being judged each day. Some of the categories of fiercest competition are for Pale Ales/IPAs, Lagers, Wheats, Stouts and Amber/Rye Ales. There are 12 breweries competing in the AVBF. The judges are a panel of beer experts gathered from around the world's most prestigious brewcraft regions.
Judging will be done through the Xkoronate 3.3 scorinator program, adapting an artistic gymnastic platform to beer categories. Bonus skill points have been given for descriptiveness, story and proper categorization. Also, there will be RP Bonus, a new feature this year.

ATTENDANCE

We are expecting thousands upon thousands of attendees, many of them local and from across Neu Engollon, but we will also have quite an international presence including some celebrities and VIPs from across the globe. Tickets will be sold in group packages, Full Festival passes, 3 Day, 2 Day and 1 Day passes. Sales of tickets are available up through the last day of the Festival. Attendees are allowed to re-enter the grounds upon leaving, if their ticket is for that day, but they are subject to search again upon re-entry. The Pavilion has three levels. The ground level seating and second level boxes are available for sale through to the last day of the Festival, or subject to availability. Third level boxes are reserved for advance sold VIP spots only.

PERFORMERS

There is a wide variety of musical performers that will be entertaining and rocking the crowd. Some are from Neu Engollon and some are from the International Community. Some of the performers are listed below, but many other local acts and DJs are expected to perform.

On The SpedMiel Main Stage:

The Imperial Navy Band of New Zepuha A full orchestral and brass band of 60 members that will perform traditional and choir arrangements. From the Byzantine State of New Zepuha.

Alpen Volken Circle A folk group that plays traditional favorites and several styles from around Neu Engollon. They originate from Ludenthal, NE.

Frigid Mares A favorite act that call Panoli, Neu Engollon home, they play a rich tapestry of rock and roll that takes influences from some of the old 60's garage and melds indie, new wave and electro clash influences to that foundation.

The Podunkers Neu Engollon's Podunkers play a fusion of punk rock, Celtic rock, ska and reggae. They are one of the most popular musical acts in Neu Engollon. From Burgunden, they call this big brewing city home, and many of their songs are about life in the large metropolis.

Vechirek (“crashing the party”) Vechirek hails from Smertolina. Electric guitar, bass & drum are rounded out with Bock (Eastern European goatskin bagpipe with a single drone & chanter), Steirische Harmonika (a type of accordion with richer bass), electric violin & hurdy-gurdy to play electric rock versions of traditional Eastern European folk music, covers of popular rock songs, both classic and contemporary, and some of their unique original songs. The attractive young men & women wear punked-out versions of traditional Smertolinan festival folk costume.

Von Todt One of Smertolina's most famous metal bands. Operatic melodies and crashing metal riffs and overtures, with competing vocals by trained opera singer Stefania Stefnevsky and growling Gunter Strohm. Songs about love and death, fairy-tale epics, and battles in Smertolina’s history.

The Servonaris A new act this year, this band hails from San Remo, and plays a blistering set of garage and surf rock. They have developed quite a following recently in southern Neu Engollon and are hoping to bring their die hard fans north to take Burgunden by storm.

On The Pine Grove DJ Stage:

Tansit Twins Misha and Gabril Tansit mix and sing dance-pop, house, and trance for a high-energy party. They call the Principality of Smertolina home.

DJ Goat Smasha Plays a mix of Goth dance, electronic, and Industrial re-mixes with a backdrop of some eerie videos and lights. Burgunden's own.

DJ Taunt Plays soul, reggae, ska and dub music, sometimes contributing his own vocals and guitar stylings. From the capital, Telleursville, Geneva, NE.

Dragon Drop This eclectic and exciting woman spins every kind of music under the sun and surprises at every turn with the odd and interesting mixes she comes up with, but no matter their randomness, her mixes always seem to move the crowd to dance. She hails from Schwartzgarten, Grisbenden, NE.

IN CONCLUSION

I, and my brother, Jan Toft, the owner of Burgunden Breueries, are excited that this has finally come in to being after all of both yours and our hard work. The Toft Family and Neu Engollon are happy to have you here in our proud Confederacy and our large, bustling city.

Getting Set Up

Postby Neu Engollon » Thu Jun 20, 2013 9:06 pm

As usual, since the large Burgunden Breuerie crew was doing double duty setting up the Pavilion and their tent, as well as helping out around the rest of the grounds with the Ministry of TCS crew that set up the medical station, security station, port-a-potties and other essentials, they got to sneak in a day earlier than the rest of the brewer and vendor crews. For some, it was a happy, bizarre sort of torture to be subjected to the rantings and verbal lashing and mushing of Hoppy Jensen, BB's Master Brewer. This year, it had been decided to put David Toft, son of Jan Toft, in charge of the crews, as well as coordinating the other grounds crews. He was a much more laid back and non-verbally abusive task master in comparison. The Yin to Hoppy's Yang.

Gear flowed in on Diamond Star trucks and many other vehicles. David Toft looked at his watch. The delivery of main stage gear from Spedycja Mielowski must have gotten held up by traffic. He would probably make a call in a little bit. While the stage and maintenance crews worked and inspectors were sent from the Neu Engollon government to make sure all the facilities were up to standard and solid.

Salty old Hoppy still found ways to make his presence known, even while pitching in his part to set up the tent.
"What is wrong with ya schiessers? Buncha baboons don't know how ter put a pole in the ground! Merd! Make plenty o' room for da kegs we're bringin' in tomorrow, Keep a clear path, ya idjits! We gotta keep it clear, let them wenches sling tha beer. Stoopid head panty wearin'...stoopids!!"

As the second day of set up wound down, the final touches would be put in place and menus posted on to Burgunden Breuerie's tent at the Southeast corner of the grounds on Confederacy Park...

It had been a hectic couple of weeks for Alex Mielowski, a show in Astholm, then a ferry trip to mainland Europe, a trek overland to get to another ferry and then over to New Engollon and to the beer show, already her business, Spedycja Mielowski, is beginning to pick up, and Alex has been in contact with one of her sales staff to arrange a meeting between them to secure a deal on her behalf, simply splitting the laws of physics is something Alex can't do yet, some staff may say she has a split personality, one personality being Polish, the other Auroran-English, however that still doesnt mean she can be in two places at once.

Nearing the town of the beer festival, Alex's 24.2 litre V12 Diamond Star shatters the silence as she thunders down some of the roads, in the trailer being some lighting equipment for the stage, Alex herself has the windows down and is enjoying the summer air,
*At the end of the road, left turn then one hundred meters, destination on right* says the satellite navigation system, so Alex eased the truck to the junction then made the turn, before making the short 100m sprint to the hall where once she arrived she hit the [up] button on the window switch and sent the electric window gliding up, then slipped the transmission into neutral and idled the big V12 for a few moments before shutting the engine down and ejecting her tacho card and exiting the cab to speak to the show organiser.

Outside the cab, Alex made a phone call to her office back home in South Sands.
"Hi Jane, its Alex, can you speak to Mariusz, I have arranged a meeting to seal a deal with Rombergia Airlines" she says
[pause]
"yeah thats right, I think mid afternoon probably best....".
[pause]
"...yeah, thats right...."
[pause], though Alex takes the phone in one hand, and defly flicks the keys round with the other, putting the key in the lock and turning it
"...anyway, catch you soon, Czecz!"

she says as the central locking cycles *KACHACK*, with the typical sound that some have likenned to someone cocking an automatic rifle like a kalashnikov, Alex then walks round to the rear of the trailer and puts a key into a padlock and undoes the trailer before heading into the hall.

"HELLO????" she shouts "I got some lights for the stage"

A BB staffer headed down the stairs and towards the door, hearing someone faintly calling. She'd also heard the sound of the truck pulling up, even over the other horns blaring, some possibly at the truck, sirens, construction and other noise pollution that was typical on this fairly busy side of Burgunden.
She saw the writing on the truck, 'Spedycja Mielowski' and knew immediately what had happened as she popped open the door to the street.
"Oh hi! Bien-Welk! I'm Heddie. You probably got GPS directions to this building for the festival, accorzu? That happens a lot. This is actually some admin offices for BB. The festival is actually at Confederacy Park, which is a few blocks from here. I happen..." She fished in her pocket for one of the Festival maps, "...to have a map here, but really just keep heading down Gerhard Strasse and turn left on Kemmel Strasse and you won't miss it, it's on the right side. They have three big gate entrances to the grounds, but they will all be locked, so you'll have to honk, then you will be driving the truck up to the main stage, which is in the center of the park grounds. Just ask for David Toft, he's coordinating everything this year.
Also, I will warn you now, stay away from Hoppy Jensen, as he's, um...a bit raw, especially towards the ladies. Good for a laugh, though. Anyway, welcome again and enjoy your stay in Burgunden! Is there anything else you need from me or that I can help with?"

OOC: Shameless tag. Will post our entrance to the beer festival tomorrow.

IC: Graf Fritz Levsky von Ravenholm boarded Rombergia flight RB 1082 to Burgunden, Neu Engollon several days before the beer festival. As a diplomat of the Imperial Realm of Romberg (OOC: Yes, we've re-named ourselves), he was dispatched by the Kaiser to introduce the alcohol culture from Romberg to the public, and thus he would be attending the 2nd Alpen View Beer Festival, as the official representative of the nation and Romberg Breweries Corp. The flight was not very long, lasting only around 2 hours. Once he arrived, he passed border control easily due to his diplomatic background, then after getting his luggage, he boarded a car which was sent by the Rombergian embassy to his hotel, which would be his base of operations in Neu Engollon for the duration of the beer festival. As it was already late at night when he arrived, Fritz took a shower and cleaned himself up before dozing off to sleep. He would start work immediately the next day, officially registering himself as the representative of Romberg and getting the Romberg Breweries Corp. stall ready. The people manning the Rombergian stall would arrive a day later, when all the relevant paperwork has been sorted out.
Proud Member of Astyria.

Info: Population 150 mil. Centrist. Based on a much more competent Austrian Empire with Scandinavian and Russian influences.

When the staff member comes down to speak to Alex who is looking at a pic of last festival, she turns round to face the office worker "hi heddie Im Alex Mielowski of Spedycja Mielowski" she says. When Heddie pulls the map out Alex notes doewn the the directions, "yeah I was wandering about the zippy that the satnav had brought me to, though this was the one on the paperwork given to me by the planner over the email, so thats down Gerhard, left into Kemmel, thanks. If you will be in the place tomorrow I will be around".

At that Alex makes her way back to her truck, unlocks the door and swings it open before climbing up the steps behind the wheel and steps into the cab, closing the door behind her, a smile comes to her face *honk, ha ha ha they'll regret that* she thinks as she puts the key into the ignition and gets the big V12 fired up, sending a plume of exhaust smoke from each exhaust pipe, as the revs fall back Alex slips the truck into drive and releases the handbrake, imediately the truck begins to roll forwards so Alex begins to pull into the traffic, easing forwards until someone gives way, then once there is space, Alex pulls away quickly, letting the 1,800hp Diamond Star rig surge forward.

Following the instructions, Alex makes her way to the show ground and pulls up at the gate, Giving the air horns a honk as requested, for her truck unlike the rest of the Spedycja Mielowski fleet is her own and not on a lease contract, as such it has been customised slightly featuring Kahlenburg D3 Air horns, these two-trumpet air horns are loud and Alex has 2 on the truck, tucked away behind the steps and aimed downwards at a slight forward angle.

ooc: There was only one horn blast, as opposed to several in the youtube video

Whilst waiting for the gate to open, Alex rings the Alpenhorn Tavern to book a reservation, an odd choice in accommodation BUT Alex is one who believes that some of the smaller hotels give better service than some of the main chains, as such she has always preffered to stay in locally run, locally owned hotels and taverns rather than major national chains.

The new day dawns on the suite of the luxurious five-star hotel, and Fritz woke up. He freshened himself, took a shower, had the breakfast brought to him, read the paper, then got changed for what would be an important day. Once down at the lobby, it was not long before the embassy-organized car went to take him to the beerfest grounds. As he had forgot to do so the previous night, he tipped the bellhop around H$ 20, as was the norm for Rombergian diplomats to overpay, then set off to the grounds.

Once at the location, which due to repeated confirmations by the embassy was the right place, Fritz walked to the ticketing booth to register himself as the Rombergian representative of the Alpen View Beer Festival.

Sat by the VIP gate, waiting for the guy to come down and open it Alex relaxed, watching the that she has had fitted to her truck whilst relaxing with her feet on the dashboard of the DS900, below her the 24 litre sleeve valve engine sweetly idling with just a feint rumble and a heat haze coming from the exhaust pipes, the sun glinting on the polished metalwork. On her lap was some a laptop computer, displaying her emails as she slowly scrolled through them, deleting the spam, saving the rest.

CONFEDERACY PARK
FESTIVAL GROUNDS

All the grounds crew members had heard the horn, in fact they'd just about pissed their pants, as it was very clearly heard over the usual traffic bustle of busy downtown Burgunden, a massive metropolis stacked high with 14 Million residents just within the city limits proper, not to mention the greater metropolitan area that took up a third of Zurich Canton.

One of them made their way to the right gate, while others peaked through the wrong gates. With the echo of the blaring noisemaker, it was hard to tell where it was centered. At the actual gate where the truck idled, a scruffy blond bearded lad named Matti rolled the chain link panel back on its track after undoing the number key code padlock. Seeing the truck had the same logo as some of the promo material around the Main Stage he hollered to the driver, "Hey! Ventege àza Febapé!" , in Frandit.

Another staffer, seeing the interplay, went back to the Pavilion, which was the other large structure across the center of the grounds from the Main Stage to fetch David. David went out, carrying a sheaf of paperwork, some for the driver from Spedycja Mielowski, not knowing it is the owner herself. The rest of it a welcome packet and some notes for the Rombergian Trade delegate, who the box office had informed him was at the other side of the park at the moment.

Meanwhile, the box office attendant told Fritz, the Trade delegate from Romberg, "Sir, we are very glad to have you here! Bien-welk! If you could just hold on just a bit before you have to go, one of the organizers would like to greet you in person. He's talking to one of the sponsors at the moment. It's been busy at the moment since we have less than a day to kickoff, you know."

David went out to the Main Stage as the large semi from Spedycja Mielowski pulled up to it as close as possible so the crew could unload the gear with short trips.
"Hello! So glad you could make it. I'm David Toft, my Pa is the owner of Burgunden Breuerie, and my uncle is the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport. The co-organizers. Well, I guess the whole family are, along with the Ministry and Breuerie. Anyway, I have some paperwork for you. Not sure what all of it is, but I think you'll recognize some of it. Permits; City, Cantonal and Federal stuff and some Finance Ministry stuff; plus a welcome packet and such. Ahh, it's such a beautiful day, and the weather is supposed to hold for kickoff tomorrow."

Even before he was able to enter the grounds, Fritz was already forming a mental image in his mind of what the Rombergian Union of Breweries' stall would be like. To an outsider, he seemed to be patiently waiting, but actually, he was already thinking about the layout of the stall, and started jotting down notes to instruct the workers from Romberg on how it should be done.

The box office attendant, looked down at her clipboard of notes, but addressing Fritz, "OH, my goodness! I'm really sorry. You're also supervising set-up, sir? Hang on, accorzu..." She opened the door to the box office, "This is the quick way through to the grounds without having to unlock one of the gates. OK, so, I'll let David know that you'll be by your tent lot, and he'll meet you there. Lot/Tent #5 is at the very Southwest corner of the grounds there, just a little bit to the left once you step out of the office here...Nice to meet you again. Would you happen to know if your set-up crew is arriving soon?"

'Accorzu' is a catch-all, common word in Frandit meaning OK, correct, right, the truth, please, etc. You will be hearing it a lot. There are some other helpful words and phrases in my Factbook about Frandit, the domestic use language of Neu Engollon that is a blend of Italian, French and German.

As soon as the guy came out with the paperwork, Alex tapped the window switch, sending it gliding silently into the door, "I'm after David...ah You're David..." says Alex, as she reaches over for some paperwork to hand down to the guy on the gate, (just as David introduced himself), "...I'm Alex Mielowski, got the last bit of lighting trusswork in the back of the box, so hop in I'll give yas a lift to the stage area, save ya walkin", with that, Alex gently tapped the accellerator with the truck sitting in neutral, if David hops in, he gets a lift, if not Alex just ambles to the stage.

A few moments later. the stage area
Once Alex had parked up and the brakes on, the big V12 was shut down allowing Alex to jump down and unlock the trailer, "looks like its gonna be a good day, warm too", she says as she slids her key into the lock on the trailer, turning it to release the padlock to allow it to be removed. With the padlock off and the doors opened, Alex climbed into the trailer, taking hold of the grab handle and using the under-ride guard on the back as a ladder, once inside she unstraps items and begins to lower the items to the stage hands "so this is what, second festival? how did the last one go?" she asks as she wraps a strap up, neatly coiling it up so it can be stowed in the trailer's under chassis lockers, as Alex is currently working away from the office, something she preffers, she is wearing a dark green catsuit, rather than work wear, though she does have a high viz jacket on, (hardly the best fashion statement but regulations require her to wear a high viz jacket when working around the truck). As each item is unstrapped, the ratchet and the strap are seperated, ratchets being hung up on the bars that run down thw trailer, and the straps being coiled neatly up and placed on the floor of the trailer and once the trailer is empty they will, like the ratchets, be stowed in the locker, one part of the drawer for straps, the other for the metal ratchets, each item in the trailer's under floor locker has a place, and everything is in its place, just like the rest of the truck, the ratchets are also spotless.

As the last item is removed from the trailer, Alex puts the ratchets on the floor so she can pick them up and carry them to the trailer, then climbs down out of the trailer and places the ratchets, followed by the straps into the under chassis locker, which as this is Alex's own trailer and not leased, is not used by any other driver in the company, and so it is in tip top condition, the drawers gliding shut with the lightest of touches, gently latching into place, once that is done, Alex also closes the trailer doors, though as it is empty she doesn't replace the padlock, however she does remove the licence plate from the trailer,
FM62 ADM

placing it in the door pocket of the drivers door so that whilst her trailer is unattended, the registration does not get stolen or go missing.

The box office attendant nodded again, "Of course, Mr. Levsky von Ravenholm, how silly of me." She had short cropped red hair and a pearly white smile, she wore a loose blouse that had a retro feel to it with a flowery print.
"Why don't you actually come back in here," She pointed to a small cubicle area in the back of the box office, just large enough to hold a small round table and an office chair, "You can fill your paperwork out there. I need to go back and watch the box office window, but just holler if you have any questions. Accorzu? There's already a line forming for the last few 3-Day passes we have left. It's going to be a busy day." She would be joined by two of her co-workers shortly, but she had to take the brunt of the ticket sales on her own for right now. She placed a pen on the table and went to get some paperwork for him.
"Oh damn. I can give you a couple of these to fill out," She hands him a couple forms, "but I think David grabbed some of the paperwork for you hoping that he would meet you on the grounds. Let me see if I can call him on his cell and let him know you're in here." She went back up front and dialed up the phone, but first taking the patron's money at the window for the three day pass they wanted.

David nods as contracted stage crew and BB staffers swarm over the equipment being lowered by Alex. They continue to relay back and forth to the stage to get everything unloaded quickly. David looks on, reviewing the paperwork.
"Yeah, um, it went great. Huge turnout. We've done other small festivals, but this is the premier event. It just keeps getting bigger every year. The pre-sales on this were crazy, some people come for the new beers and the rare batches, others for the acts, like Podunkers or Van Todt and Vechireck from Smertolina have a rabid following here now, a lot of it from last year. Anyway, it's become a pretty big deal and we try to ensure it all goes smoothly. Looks like the weather will cooperate this year, as it did last year, but ya never know."

"Thanks, and by the way, I don't like such formalities, tell them that they can just call me Fritz if they want to." he said as he took over the papers. He took a seat, and brought out his pen, from the finest materials available from home, including platinum decorations and a diamond inlay carved with the Rombergian coat of arms. He started to fill the forms out, occasionally phoning home to confirm several details. Once his part was done, he continued surveying the scene, starting to estimate the dimensions of the stall, after he had already thought of the general idea while he was waiting outside. He started sketching plans, which although he was not an artist, at least it was more or less legible and obvious what he wanted to create.

"ya know most of those I have not heard of, Im more into techno and trancy stuff" says Alex goes about the job of closing the trailer "now, somewhere to park, and then its off to a local guest house bed n brekkie i think, then a disco if there is one..." says Alex, as she closes the doors on the trailer, "...its been a LONNNG day" Alex walks around to the cab again, opens the passenger door and climbs in and grabs a flask then asks David the site controller, "hey Dave, ya want a brew? I got a kettle in here along with milk and sugar. Tea or coffee?"

Alex reaches up to the two way radio and turns it over to CB19 and begins to listen to it as she pours water into the kettle and turns it on, pulling down a mug from one of the overhead lockers, the mug having a holder for a some cookies.

BY THE SPEDMIEL MAIN STAGE

David smiles,
"Actually, Alex, I'm sticking with water for right now. I had my caffeine earlier this morning, but thank you. I have to catch up with a Rombergian VIP at the other end of the park. So I shall have to say it's been a pleasure and thank you. If you need anything else. Be sure to stop by when we're open and if not, through the festival I think there'll be someone on duty in the box office at all hours. In the wee hours it will be a security guard more than likely, still, they will know how to get a hold of me." He stretched and scratched.

"So, you should be able to find a bunch of both bed & breakfasts' and discos in this town. I'm probably not the best guy to ask where the best one is, but maybe one of the staffers around here would know. Anyway, I'm off."
He shook Alex's hand and headed back past the Pavilion to the south gate area.
He ended up at the back door of the box office, using a key to get in.
Glancing to the right he sees Fritz making notes.

"Hello, sir. It is a pleasure to meet you. I'm David Toft, one of the organizers for the festival and my family owns Burgunden Breuerie. How was your trip in from Romberg? By the way, I have some other paperwork here for you and I was supposed to pass on a message from Minister Gianni Rigolberto, from the Confederacy Ministry of Finance. He was hoping to meet you as he will be here tomorrow for the launch."

"no worries" says Alex.

With the kettle sitting on the floor, once it boiled Alex proceeded to make her drink, then as can be expected put everything else away in its storage location before placing the cup in a holder on the dashboard, *right a place to park, back of the security cabin will do* she thinks, so gets the V12 spinning again and eases the truck over to that part of the park, taking care not to spin the wheels and splatter everyone with mud, that may be fun for Alex, not so much for the people on the recieving end of a mud bath, and if she did spin the tyres, sight security may have something to say, probably not repeatable on TV either, especially as there is likely to be a TV crew hanging around covering the event.

At the security tent, Alex carefully reversed the truck down the side between the security hall and the medical tent, the reverse sirens sounding with their annoying beep, inside the cab the truck let out a spaced out beep to start with, the beeps getting closer and louder as the rear of the trailer came to the fence, so Alex then put the hand brake on then reached to the tachograph and pressed the Eject [^] button, the card eventually emerging from its slot so as soon as it came out Alex put it in her wallet and turned the engine off allowing the V12 to fall silent, she then stretched her arms out and let out a yawn before folding the steering wheel back towards the dashboard and getting out of her seat, pulling the key from the ignition switch then reaching onto the top bunk to grab her suitcase, gently laying it on the cab floor between the seats before reaching to the cup on the dashboard and taking its contents in one hit. "aaaah" she whispers, placing the cup on the dashboard next to a waving cat, before exiting the cab Alex takes a look around then gives the Alpenhorn Tavern a call.

"Mr Toft, I'm Graf Fritz Levsky von Ravenholm, and you can just call me Fritz. Firstly, thank you for letting us come over and share the alcohol culture of Romberg with the world. My flight was fine, and I just had a beer from your family business on the flight. It's not the kind of taste I'm used to, but the quality is exceptional and I like it nevertheless. And your products are selling well in our pubs. We Rombergians are proud of our own stuff, but we certainly don't mind trying new flavours. Before we stray further off track, thanks for the documents as well, and tell Mr Rigolberto that I'll be honoured to meet him." As he said so, Fritz shook David's hand, and at least to Fritz, the overall atmosphere was rather cordial.

IN THE BOX OFFICE

David smiled even more warmly.
"Fritz...I have a cousin named Fritz. You can call me David. Good to hear about BB. Ya know, we'd like to see your nation's ales do well here this week. We want the whole global industry of good craft beer to come up together, that's part of the reason for this. We're kind of all in the same boat against the poor quality swill that passes for beer in most places. Now, I'm not having much to do with the BreuPub side of things, so correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't the Burgunden BreuPubs serving some Rombergian varieties these days?"

He pulled out a squarish card from among the papers he held and handed it out to Fritz,
"Anyway, I think you may want to be in direct contact with Minister Rigolberto rather than rely on me as messenger. Here's his card he left for you."
