Company history
Spedycja Mielowska was founded by Aleksandra "Alex" Mielowska in the spring of 2002 with a single truck to haul supplies out of South Sands, initially serving Project Aurora's research ships however word got around about Spedycja Mielowska, and so Alex would be given a Project Aurora load out, then a return load from a third party with loads ranging from frozen food to components and it wasn't long before Alex needed to take on additional drivers, gradually the company expanded to its current size sending export goods right across Astyria's main landmass.
In 2010 as the economic downturn was beginning to loosen its grip, Spedycja Mielowska moved into another area of business, providing a recruitment agency, though this was initially out of South Sands where the company is based. As well as South Sands Nuclear, Project Aurora Earthwatch and Diamond Star, Spedycja Mielowska also supplies manpower to businesses in the South Sands metropolitan area as well as across the Aurora Confederacy.
Ever since the company was founded, Spedycja Mielowska has been looking at ways to make the company more environmentally aware so we train our drivers to drive defensively and economically, helping us reduce our impact on the environment and as such we have invested in LPG - Diesel-electric hybrid refrigeration equipment that can run on solar power as well as a conventional power pack, reducing our carbon and acoustic footprint so when we make that late night delivery to the supermarket next door to your house at 3AM, you won't be woken up by the traditional rumble of a trailer's refrigerator unit, this enabled Spedycja Mielowska to earn a 4 star residential environmental awareness award in 2011 and 2012.
Economic downturn - 2008 - 2010
Like everyone else, Spedycja Mielowska was affected by the economic downturn, however thanks to a few staple contracts from Project Aurora Earthwatch, South Sands Nuclear and Diamond Star, and a minor slimming down of the company where sadly a few workers were laid off, Spedycja Mielowska weathered the fiscal storm with business soon picking up afterwards. Part of this weathering was also in part to the fact that the fleet is mainly based around rental vehicles, allowing the fleet to expand and contract as needed, though 8 vehicles are fully owned by Spedycja Mielowska though when it comes to staff Agency based drivers are used to a degree, allowing the same expansion and contraction as needed.

A company fleet is the first thing the customer sees and everyone judges a logistics company by the fleet it operates, as such Spedycja Mielowska has taken great care to choose its fleet to give a combination of manouvrability, driver comfort, best impression possible and profitability resulting in a fleet consisting mainly of 16 and 19 litre Diamond Star DS900s. For short distance work, We operate a fleet of Scania R-series 6x2 tractor units, though there are also several light vans for courier work around various cities and urban areas and like the larger trucks, these vans are kept to a high standard and were acquired on flexible contract hire.
Our trailers generally all 12.0m long or 13.6m long 2.5m wide 4.0m high3 axle semi trailers which in most cases carry the destinctive stripes that form the operating livery of Spedycja Mielowska on the sides and are all fitted with nose mounted rerigeration gear that can use AC or DC power, and with solar power on the roof they operate quietly and efficiently, allowing them to work in residential areas without disturbing the peace, there is nothing worse than a chugging refrigeration unit at 3am hence Spedycja Mielowska opting to lease hybrid technology refrigerated trailers.
To assist loading and unloading, each trailer also has retractable rollers that can pull or push the cargo in or out, so at a dock, there is no need to send in a heavy forklift, the load can be simply pushed back to the door, revealing 2 pallets at a time, (in total 24 1000mm x 1200mm pallets can be carried in a 12m trailer, 26 in a 13.6m trailer). It is company policy here at Spedycja Mielowska to have every driver lash and strap the loads down to ensure that it stays where it is put on the trailer, protecting goods and trailer.
It is company policy for drivers to maintain the cleanliness of the vehicles even though the bulk of the fleet is leased from Diamond Star, this all helps to enhance the image we wish to portray to our customers. It can also be noted that the fleet of vehicles operated by Spedycja Mielowska is made up of modern euro-style cab-over type tractor euro-style trailers, this may seem like we are giving our drivers a hard time by giving them what many percive as small trucks to drive especially as we are a trans continental operator, with some of our vehicles making deliveries as far across Astyria to places like Earent, however, we specify the fleet to be of the highest standard within this small box, this gives us the best of both worlds, a nice working environment for our delivery drivers, and the ability to make tight urban delivery locations that would be impossible for larger conventional type trucks, meaning we can come right to your door whether it is in a city centre or rural location, furthermore, as each truck has its own dedicated driver, we do allow drivers to customise the interior slightly to make them more homely, this means that we are able to keep our drivers rather than suffer a driver turn-over issue that plagues other haulage companies.

Spedycja Mielowska operates in several sectors of the employment market, whether it be contract haulage or secretarial work, cleaners or crane drivers, Spedycja Mielowska Recruitment can source your employment requirements, providing you with a reliable workforce, this can be either as a long term contract or a short term contract, even emergency cover for periods of one day can be catered for.
Drivers supplied by Spedycja Mielowska will be fully aware of the nature of the assignment and certified accordingly so they have the right certificates for the job, (ie we won't send a non ADR driver to do ADR work), they will also be provided with all neccersary PPE required for the job, either by Company policy or legislation. Driver teams will also be carefully matched to ensure that they will perform as a team to the highest standard.
Although trucking and logistics remains an integral part of our business plan, a secondary part which is equally important is our ability to supply companies in the commercial and industrial sectors with skilled, semi skilled and unskilled workers, providing your business with safe, polite and efficient workers thereby providing you with a flexible workforce to suit your employment requirements, whether you are after a simple order picker, a crane driver, or a fabricator welder.
As such, Spedycja Mielowska is looking to set up work agencies across Astyria in order to place Astyrian workers into Astyrian jobs, and possibly if they have the relevant paperwork into jobs outside Astyria, though with the Mercantile federal Republic of the Aurora Confederacy being a member of the WA, all WA regulations pertaining to worker hours, Working conditions and Wages, WILL BE ADHERED TO. Our Agency recruitiers will also visit workplaces to ensure that they are a safe working environment before sourcing workers, this is to protect the welfare of the agency workers that will be supplied and to check to see what PPE will be required for the job. Workers who work for us get 28 days paid annual leave, earning 2 days leave per month worked with the holiday calendar running 1st July through to 31st June.
How we source our labour
Spedycja Mielowska (Employment services) LLC works to source labour through several means, all of which are legal, the main one is with workers who sign up to work for us, though if we do not have anyone currently free on our books for a particular position, the local labour exchange / Job centres are also contacted to see if there are unemployed people who are looking for work.

As with any haulage operation, there is also the opportunity to sub contract work, where if you have your own truck you can use that vehicle to work for us, this will include fuel milage, servicing and tolls all paid by Spedycja Mielowska, just as if the truck were operated directly by Spedycja Mielowska, All re require is for the truck to be of a presentable appearance and be able to couple up to a trailer with a hitch height of 1250mm. If you operate a trailer as well, we would preffer it to be refrigerated though this does not have to be be the case.

Project Aurora Earthwatch
The Project Aurora Earthwatch contract is pretty straight forwards, hauling parts for scientific equipment, as well as supplies bound for our research vessels, getting the supplies to the ports to allow them to be loaded onto the research vessels. This can range from tinned food to scientific instruments going on, and sealed containers of recyclable waste coming off to be taken to recycling stations. As some of our ships make port calls outside the Aurora Confederacy, this regularly means that vehicles are venturing as far East as the Blackhelm Confederacy on occasions
