Yeah, what we said about luring you into a pattern? Well, we're going to break from that now. Any thoughts and opinions here are only one overexcited fan's take on the season, and should not be considered the official viewpoints of the characters portrayed.

Sure, the champions led for almost three-quarters of the season, but that doesn't mean we were lacking in excitement. The highlight reels will show the golazos and saves, slide tackles and fouls, and then there was one particular overdubbing...

MAY and JUNE in the NEW SIDEBURN FOOTBALL LEAGUE

With Crisisbless, Athletic and the Moths all picking up good wins, Brinemouth loses momentum after stalling against Parrhesia, who appear to be making good on their comeback. Vermillion vs. Moths is the pick of the week, the Moths attempting to invigorate the flow of their somewhat stagnant midfield and romping to a 3-1 success... while a tackle from Crispin Blatant rules out Bruce Payne for the rest of the season. Signs aren’t good behind the scenes for Vermillion, either.

Crisisbless find themselves held to a stunning 3-3 draw by Leopolis, while River continue to underachieve. At the bottom of the table, Rochford win a vital clash with the Chenoworth Harriers. Chenoworth Rovers, after scoring five goals in 16, score three in one against Brookford. Athletic’s six wins on the bounce come to a halt as North Laithland fight back from a 1-0 deficit.

With a sixth straight defeat, Pavel Heroism of the Vermillion Rage found himself sacked. Enter Hew Irongut, recently of Crisisbless. Brinemouth took a point from Athletic, Iron take three from North Laithland, and an enchanting five-goal performance sees the Moths triumph at Parrhesia.

A baptism of fire for Hew Irongut, whose talented yet demoralised Rage barely hang in for a 3-3 draw against a sloppy Athletic. Raven River finally pick up a win, South Laithland the victims, Iron City shocking the other big money club in Brinemouth and a bad-tempered match between Parrhesia and Maximum sees four goals, three red cards, two contentious penalty claims and one pitch invasion. North Laithland’s manager, Dana Conlan, was publically informed that he had to achieve a Top 10 finish by midseason or face the sack.

Missing two key players, it is unsurprising that Parrhesia struggled against the Cardinals. Iron City, now unbeaten in three, frustrate Vermillion and win a point. Vermillion’s defensive fragility causes Hew Irongut to demand the signing of a goalkeeper by midseason, or he walks. North Laithland secures three points at the Harriers, the South struggle away at Rochford, who come another step closer to survival. Meanwhile, Cranequin shows Newrook who the real new talent is, with a comprehensive 4-1 victory.

The Moths take another step towards sealing a first place finish in midseason, seeing off Crisisbless 2-1 while close rivals Athletic and Maximum stalemated one another. Vermillion wins a game at last, while North Laithland takes a step closer to the Top 10 finish that their manager needs. Treason slumps tamely to a 1-0 defeat that could’ve been worse against an opponent they should have beaten.

Two shocks today as Raven River forcefully beats down Integabad, turning 1-2 into 4-2 after half-time, while Cranequin mutilates Southfell 5-1. The Sabrefell derby ends with a goal apiece, Moths leading most of the game but with the Cardinals stealing a goal back at the bitter end. Meanwhile, Vermillion chokes against a weak side, again.

Treason succumb to a third consecutive 1-0 defeat, while Parrhesia complete a triumphant reversal of fortunes by routing the Harriers. River are handed a 3-1 defeat to give them the worst defensive record by this point. Meanwhile, while South Laithland hands their Northern rivals a crushing 3-0 defeat, Dana Conlan still manages his Top 10 finish by virtue of Leopolis’ defeat to the Chariots.

A great run from the Moths sees a degree of stability in the Top 6 at last, still with South Laithland clinging on. North Laithland barely made the Top 10, but as they did, Dana Conlan stays on as their manager. The Harriers are starting to look buried under their opponents, and it’s not much better for Iron City... the other relegation places, though, are anyone’s guess, though Raven River’s abysmal defence continues to let them down. They’ve attempted to make this up with the midseason signing of Hugo Jacklin from Creed United for half a million pounds. Felix goalkeeper Kunibert Rosenfeld was brought to Vermillion Rage from Sieberg, winger Bryce Soprano was sold down to Dubstep Rangers for a mere 450 thousand, leaving brother Bruno behind. Meanwhile, out-of-form Treason striker Karel Headlock was loaned out to Rozelle in Brenecia, and also heading to the former colony is Rylisa Bandage from Newrook.

Sabrefell Moths: With a superb +25 goal difference to supplement their 46 points, the Moths have proved hard to beat down and impossible to shut down in attack. They dominate their opposition. Gerhard Thunder alone has more goals than Iron, the Hares or either Chenoworth team, with a stunning tally of 17.
Maximum City: Pearce Aimbot has bold aims for the club, stating on several occasions that he has no goal less than the premiership on his mind. Their watertight defence has been their primary asset, but the surprising form of Ninian Locksmith and Linda Matthews, who seemed like the weak links in a struggling bullpen last season, and Jack Radd, who was injured much of last season.
Sabrefell Athletic: A six-goal series of wins catapulted Athletic to first, but they gave up the lead later on. They do, however, have an outstanding offense; Echidnan striker Helmut Eberhardt has a tally of fifteen, strike-partner Warner Garfield with twelve and the national side’s attacking midfielder, Karelline Charmwell, has ten. It’s a shaky back four that’s let them down at times, with Kurtis Fitzmarten underperforming in defence.
Crisisbless: Once again, infuriatingly so close and so far from pole position. Solid in offence and defence, they nonetheless lack the dominance and swagger that should be defining them. At least Scabbard and Locklear have been successful with their goals, scoring 25 between them. Ash Twining has been great in a support role, but four goals is underwhelming.
Brinemouth: Big-spending Brinemouth have done well, their star-studded lineup gelling well to secure fifth comfortably, as well as winning several upsets. That said, they’ve proven maddeningly inconsistent at times.
South Laithland: Despite a tendency to win small and lose big, Laithland have impressed with eleven wins and four draws. This is not least thanks to the efforts of one of last season’s best signings, Damian Shrewe, now with his ninth clean sheet. While they may not last the whole season on this form, they’ve certainly driven a point home.
Cranequin Wanderers: The highest placed new blood, rapidly turning into everyone’s second favourite team. They just play with so much class and drive, it really is impossible to hate them. They’ve done extremely well for themselves, and a lot of credit has to go to talisman Cath Sedgwick; with 14 goals, she’s the top-scoring midfielder in the Premiership.
Violence Chariots: After everything, the Chariots have prevailed at the last. A solid eighth place finish is pretty great overall, and while their defence is leaky it’s a problem they’ve always had and aren’t likely to solve soon. They may well keep their place.
Brookford Otters: Had a great run near the start that has kind of been muted in light of recent results. Still an impressive start, despite a poor goal difference. They really don’t look like a side that needs to worry about relegation.
North Laithland: Dana Conlan barely reaches his target. They’re an aggressive team that likes to get forward, but weaknesses at the back and the poor form of Brendan Dulcet are punishing them. Fortunately, Nocturnal, Conway and Helmensun are on top of their game.
Leopolis Hatemongers: The highest placed foreigners after a 23-match run that sees them topple their national rivals. They’ve proven very hard to beat with a mere six defeats, and they’ve done quite well on the attack, too. They’re definitely flourishing with the presence of Oestermark, though.
AFC Treason: Tara Lockdown is goalless in seven, but in fairness her team has not helped much. Just one win and one draw in seven, a dreadful run of form for last season’s runners-up. Gaffer Ivan Knightley has vowed to get his team to the Top Six, or else resign.
Southfell United: United are simply too fragile at the back; with 39 goals shipped, it’s the equal second-worst record in the league, one they share with bottom-of-the-table Harriers. They’ll need to shape up as a disciplined side if they want to reclaim last year’s form, and the absence of Dale Brightley is being keenly felt.
Chenoworth Rovers: Rovers had a really dreadful run of form, stranded with the worst goalscoring performance in the league for a while. The new partnership up front of Tullus and Lowry is getting results to a degree, but they still rely on a tight, but not invulnerable, defence.
Parrhesia United: Edmund Agincourt has, at least, secured Parrhesia for the time being. An alarming 10 winless games at the start of the season have been redeemed somewhat by eight since. Can Agincourt still secure a Top 10 finish? He’s stated he’s aiming for ‘at least’ 8th.
Raging Fire Hares: Four of their wins came in the first five games, but they’ve simply dried out since. Were Molly Keynes to be injured, they would probably be doomed; she has scored eight of the Hares’ thirteen goals so far. They’ve got to be looking over their shoulders by now...
AFC Integabad: One of two big surprises to be down so far, but it’s not too late for Helmut Schreck’s men, who have been plagued by injury. Schreck is confident he can keep his side out of trouble, and all he asks for is the faith of the supporters.
AFC Rochford: Rochford’s defence, marshalled by prodigal Brenecian Felix Carrick, have kept them afloat so far. They’re struggling, but so far Eliza Roma seems on top of the job, and most seem to feel they’ll survive.
Vermillion Rage: Something is seriously wrong in Vermillion. They’re sinking dangerously low as they haemorrhage goals, and Bruce Payne’s being ruled out for the rest of the season is not a good sign at all. Hopefully the signing of Rosenfeld will salvage the season.
Newrook Democracy: They’ve simply lacked the killing edge this season, strikers Puffin, Bluemoon and Class perpetually misfiring and leaving the heavy lifting to the midfield. With twelve draws, they really need to start converting them to wins, and if it can’t happen sooner or later they may well go down.
Rhagant Schadenfreude: Rhagant’s goals have dried up, and they simply have nothing except their work rate to credit them so far. They need something really exceptional to stay up this season, they need a reason to survive, and so far there just hasn’t been anything.
AFC Raven River: River have shown flashes of class but have never really kicked off to the start they deserve. They really need to whip themselves into shape, and fast, or they could be dragged down in their very first season in the top flight.
Iron City: Useless on the attack, but a recent run of decent form has at least put them in the running for survival. They seemed stranded before, but if they can shape up in attack then they may well claw their way to safety.
Chenoworth Harriers: Starting to look increasingly stranded, Chenoworth’s statistics say it all; 3 wins, 6 draws, 14 points, 14 goals, 39 conceded and a staggering -25 goal difference. Darryl Boyden was fired after the 3-0 loss to Parrhesia on Matchday 23, and unless replacement, former assistant manager Phil Cage, is a miracle worker, it looks like the Harriers’ resilience has run out at last.

KFA CUP XXI : ROUND TWO
After the shocks of the first round, the last 32 was...a bit of a disappointment really. Bletcham Devils were the nearest to causing an upset, but sadly the lottery of the shoot-out went against them at Parc Abertawy.

Elsewhere, both Avidia clubs went through - after a fashion - whilst both Emberton clubs took out northern shockers to advance.

Season Seven

Season seven saw the first major restructuring of the LAPFL, as the top two flights expanded to 40 teams from 36 and the bottom three tiers moved to uniform divisions of 22 each. The AFF-FAL Vase has been scrapped as it was decided the travel involved for some Second and Third Division teams was costing too much, and instead was replaced by a LAPFL Premier League Challenge Vase.

The tiebreakers across all five divisions of the LAPFL are constant: head-to-head results, head-to-head goal difference, goal difference, head-to-head goals scored, goals scored, head-to-head away goals, away goals, wins.

Previously two Liventian and two Ad’ihani teams would move between the two Premier League divisions every season, but this season the second Liventian team in the B Premier League finished a disappointing 11th, forcing the LAPFL's hand in stepping in to promote the top four teams (which included the best-placed Liventian team).

The two respective national champions in the A Premier League qualify for the Champions’ Cup, while the next two eligible teams qualify for the Globe Cup. To give the new Premier League Challenge Vase some authority, the third Globe Cup spot is awarded to the winner of the tournament, who also qualify for the Cygnus Cup. The top four teams from the B Premier League qualify for the Series B Cup.

LAPFL Season 7
Premier League
Navon Beach continued their impressive domination of the league, bordering on a dynasty, by winning a fourth title in five seasons. They were five points clear of Liventian champions Talbott who finished second but defended their national title. Mountbatten Junction were just behind Talbott on head-to-head results, while Liventian champions minus two Orean United focussed on a cup run and finished 10th. At the wrong end of the table, Protectorate United barely escaped the drop for a second season running, but LAPFL Season 1 champions Oldbridge City were less lucky as they finished last, going down with Mountain FC, Tallyn Rovers and Dover City.

After a tough season, the Football Club Start win the SuperLiga for the second time in a row!
Congratualtions to the players and the staff of Start! This is the first time in the history of FC Start that they won two consecutive titles! They won the title with an amazing 87 points while Abarth that were second won 67 points, 25 points of difference! FK Start is going to play in the qualifying round of the Champions Cup for the first time in their history!

"I dont know what to say. I am too excited to think about anything except the celebrations!" says Dmitri Slleyukov, the coach of FK Start

Football Club Abarth was second with 67 points ,25 points less than their biggest rival Start.

"I am very unsatisfied with the play of my footballers" says Styepan Yerkovski, the coach of FK Abarth "We lost both derby matches against Start, but whats more embarrasing is that the difference between us and Start is 25 points. I cant say that I am not happy with the second place and the place in the qualifying of the Globe Cup, but we need to be better, much much better next season."

FK Crvena Zvezda(Red Star) has won the third place with 67 points! Last year they werent so succsessfull, but this year they are going to compete alongside Abarth in the qual. round of the Globe Cup

"I cant say that I am not happy, we played our best and we deserved to be here.Last season we were cathastophic and had to change something in our play. This season we finished 3rd, next season I expect us to be in the fight for the title, afterall we are the club that has the most trophies in Savski Venac" says Robert Prosinechki, the coach of Crvena Zvezda.

FK Kosmajac has finished 4th with 66 points just below Crvena Zvezda. They are the team that has wn the right to compete in the qualifications of the Globe Cup.

"Well, we didnt do our best. We had the lead in the SuperLiga at the start of the season but we lost it. Last season we were better. We are lucky to compete in the qual. round of the Globe Cup, if there was the cup this year we wouldnt win the "visa" for the qual. round of Globe Cup. I am dissapointed." says Stevo Đurovic the coach of FK Kosmajac.

Radnichki Markograd,Turbina and IRA were the last 3 teams on the SuperLiga table and will unfortunately for them be relegated to the 1. League of Savski Venac.

Tara Lockdown’s scoring drought is at an end at last, with a towering header to beat Cranequin. A low-scoring week on the whole, with four 1-0 wins and four scoreless draws... though Newrook Democracy thrashed the Chariots 4-0.

The Moths pick up a commanding win, Athletic stalls at Chenoworth. Vermillion Rage fight with pride and passion that they’ve lacked all season to salvage a 2-2 draw late on against Laithland, and things are beginning to look up.

The Moths pick up another crushing victory, Southfell are walked over 4-1 despite scoring the opener in the ninth minute and Iron vs. Harriers grinds to a disappointing scoreless stalemate. Crisisbless are held scoreless, and a goal from Lowry takes them down in the end.

Another win for Irongut’s Rage, Brinemouth versus Integabad is the pick of the week with five goals and a constantly swinging pendulum, and the Moths suffer a reversal to River. Comfortable wins for most of the other title hopefuls.

Bryan Veldt, substituting in for Stubbs (who had a calf strain), has a game to forget as Harriers beat the Moths 2-0. Crisisbless and Athletic stall at North and South Laithland, both with 1-1 draws. Maximum are crushed by a Kamilla Brandt hattrick, Southfell rampage against Brinemouth, Parrhesia go 3-0 against Newrook and Vermillion win an important victory against Integabad.

Brookford slump, Moths return to their winning ways (albeit somewhat shakily) and Parrhesia v. Integabad is already looking a candidate for match of the season, Parrhesia returning from 1-4 to 4-4. While many of the top sides stalemate, Maximum win 1-0 comfortably and continue to stay in contention.

If you were looking for definitive proof that Vermillion’s owners have gone mad, it came today; after sinking to a 4-1 defeat to Crisisbless, Hew Irongut, who had at least stayed the course for survival, was sacked, with his assistant Ben Gunsmith appointed with immediate effect. Rochford continue to be able to stalemate teams when needs be, but their offense is still letting them down.

SEPTEMBER

A poor start for Rage’s new manager, who found his team crushed by Treason. Parrhesia cut down Crisisbless, Iron manage to score 3 against the Democracy and the clash between Rhagant and the Hares, the two lowest-possession sides in the league, ends predictably with a 1-0 win to the Schadenfreude.

Iron City shut out Integabad to go one step closer to safety, Vermillion win with a highly controversial goal and the Moths are stunned by the Hares. It’s been a stuttering step for all concerned, in fact; Maximum drew with Crisisbless, Athletic drew and Treason were shut out and beaten by Parrhesia.

A stuttery week for the entire top tier, as Sabrefell Athletic defeated Crisisbless and Treason accounted for Maximum. Brinemouth were held to a scoreless draw against a frustrating Rochford, and the Moths barely managed to draw 2-2 with the Chariots. Damian Shrewe was red carded in the 80th minute of South Laithland vs. Hares, though he kept a clean sheet. With no substitutes, Ayn Tusk kept goal for the remaining ten minutes, even making two decent, workmanlike saves.

Another crunch week, Treason crippling Athletic. Meanwhile, Reece Benedict debuts in goal for South Laithland! He concedes six. River’s rejuvenation leads them to a resounding victory over Parrhesia, and Vermillion’s defence is so bad even Rochford can steal points from them!

Vermillion slinks to a 1-0 defeat against Rovers and manager Ben Gunsmith is fired, with recently sacked Paddy Cheesewright brought in with immediate effect. This causes captain Olga Nihil to snap and confess to the press in an immediate postmatch interview just how fucked everything is.

”I ain’t been paid in two months, none of the rest have, it all went to hire Rosenfeld, all to him to keep Irongut around and now he’s been sacked... I just don’t know anymore, I should never have left Maximum, and I apologise to the supporters of Vermillion Rage for having to put up with these shambolic peformances but it’s just impossible to perform under these conditions. I expect they’ll sack me or something, but fuck them, fuck them for bleeding this club to death.”

Also, Harriers beat Southfell and Iron beats Treason.

Things are getting very tight in the promotion places, Martella Jazz stealing upwards in a good run of form. Shotgun are ten points and a massive amount of goal difference from safety, and they just can't recoup that in eleven matches; while not mathematically relegated, they barely stand a chance. A match against struggling Strephonage would've given them a massively improved chance of survival; they lost 6-0.

Seven teams from outside the top flight entered the third round...only two survived. Hastings County, who spent a single hopeless season in the Liga Calania way back when, took Avidia City by the scruff of the neck in extra time.

It's home wins all around in the last eight. Good news for Emberton Reds and Avidia; less so for Royal Emberton, turned over at the Draconium. Completing the awesome foursome are Kallia United, who overcame O-League One strugglers Secklow to book their semi-final place.
