Also when this is over, my guys will be dropping off a defensive squadron of capital ships and a space station before dropping a prefabricated base to serve as an embassy by the apartment.

An embassy is fine, but keep in mind that a lot of soldiers won't be welcomed. We have Bran under the same guidelines. He didn't realize it at the time he did it. We sort of weeded it back so people could have an embassy much like you'd see in the Diplomacy thread.

They'll be bargaining with the locals. In the end it'd actually be advantageous, as they'd likely trade planetary shield generators for massive amounts of food that would protect the planet from orbital bombardment and prevent lame excuses for not doing so in the next invasion.

No biggie. Are you going to send an ambassador? I think Swith mentioned us bringing in an NPC so we can have a say on events like invasions or other things where the city has to step up and be proactive.

I did indeed ask people to do that. Prim's characters are already official ambassadors and they're embassy is in a pocket dimension in the building... it's also their apartment... but I asked other people if they would make up an NPC so they'd have a voice when major things happen. Then the city/government listens, has the ability to accept aid or to decline help, and no ones toes are stepped on. No hurt feelings that way. It's just that the ambassador wouldn't be a regular character that we'd see. They'd have a little embassy downtown near the parliament building... and if your PCs get into a legal bind, they can fall back on their embassy to sort things for them. Win-win for all.

Ambassadors... should really be an NPC. They're the stern voice of reason and don't engage in daily stuff. They basically represent you, the player. Give me a few to pull something that might work as an app.
