HHA-50 "Battle Bus"

The HHA-50, backronymed as "hardly Hurtian anymore," is the oldest vehicle currently in service with the Glorious Republican military. It has been modified into hundreds of configurations, used in every branch and has been seen in dozens of conflict areas worldwide. It has an appearance outwardly resembling the HT-50 except while the HT-50 has a welded hull, the HHA-50 is a rare exception and possess a bolted hull. The logic to the unusual exterior was that in the coming years the vehicle could be easily taken apart and rebuilt for new challenges. Another difference is while the HT-50 has 2 axels the HHA-50 has 3.

The HHA-50 was actually a parallel development to the HT-50. It has a perforated steel skeleton for the rear area. Without its armor the HHA-50 looks like a truck with a ribcage. Originally the HHA-50 was fitted with both a steel bottom and sides. In the years to come the floor was modified to create a metallic V to blunt the impact of a mine, and the bolts to hold the armour to the frame were extended to accept slat armour to protect against RPG fire. The final version that saw frontline service had two benches underneath the ballistic nylon hood with a layer of ballistic nylon on the rear of every plate.

It earned the nickname of "Battle Bus" during the suicidal charges of Confederate forces during the Second Leafanistani Civil War, where HHA-50 after HHA-50 were trucked into the front lines to deliver soldiers to the battle. Eventually the constant flow of men surrounded Loyalist forces and massacred them.

HHA-50/79AG Assault Gun
The HHA-50 Model 1979 Assault Gun was created during the runup to the First Leafanistani Civil War and saw extensive service with the Republican Militias which sorely needed direct fire support.

The 85mm SD-44 main gun was mounted facing the rear and could only be fired accurately while stationary. However because a lot of the side pieces had to be removed to provide the gun adequate traverse the M1979 Gun Carriage, as it was known in the West, and only fitted with an additional bit of aluminium spaced armor the vehicle earned a dangerous reputation. The habit of the militiamen to keep ammo on the slat armour of the vehicle did not help when the vehicle was hit and the rounds cooked off.

The issue was never adequately addressed and the crews of the "Boom Bus" always went into battle with trepidation.
