Meh, already got Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood on the backlog though I would throw out the Russian-Japanese anime film First Squad as one to watch.

I recently just finished Pumpkin Scissors and Jormungand. Also great action animes.

Boy, that must have made you Mr. Popular and most civil in your war RPs. As for me, well, I try to stay out of wars, but I have about at last count 14 carrier groups easy, perhaps even more, I've forgotten how many! It's been a while since I had a real war. Well, the last one I was in, was due to my space capsule going out of control and impacting a space hotel believe it or not.. That got me into real mess..

Well it did scare the living hell out of everyone else in Europe.

Today Balka is very friendly towards other nations.

Piss us off and The luftwaffe will Bomb you back to the stone age, the army will teach you how to make fire all over again and the navy will teach your kids how to swim.

That's what we've told the rebels in our country, unfortunately, they seem to take the Japanese "Kamikaze " approach..

Sabres In The Night, Part VI

Charlie woke and then immediately regretted doing so.

He felt sore all over and from the way he was breathing it felt like he had a broken rib or two, his head pounded like a jackhammer was drilling out the inside of his skull. He tried moving his arm only for his muscles to tense up and flare in pain, causing him to cry out.

"Don't move." A voice, female with a French accent, instructed from somewhere beyond his vision. "This for the pain."

There was a prick and Charlie soon felt himself drifting off into a blissful darkness...

~

It was late afternoon with the sun low in the sky when Charlie awoke again, though he still felt sore but at least he wasn't besieged by pain when he tried moving. His head spun as he got up into a sitting position and waited for his vision to clear, a small bedroom eventually took form around him. How had he got here?

Last thing he remembered was wrestling with the controls of the Beaufighter as the French countryside rushed up to embrace him, after that was some vague memories of being dragged from the aircraft before darkness obscured the rest of the details. Looking round at the furnishings he hazard a guess that perhaps some local had gotten to him before the Hun did, though were they the other of the voice he had heard?

There was one way to find out.

Taking his time he got to his feet a little unsteadily and made his way other to the door, using some of the furniture for support. Carefully he tried the door, which he found to be unlocked, and gently pulled it open to peer round it to discover a a small landing and a flight of stairs leading down. He'd barely made it halfway down the stairs when a woman appeared waving her arms in a frantic manner. "Non, non, non! Bed! Bed!"

"Where the ruddy hell am I?" Charlie demanded, perhaps a little too angrily.

"You are safe now." The woman replied in the now familiar French accent. "You are hurt and you still in bed wee?"

"Suppose, but I can't stay here for long with ruddy Jerry runnin' around luv."

"I'm Resistance." The woman said. "I have spoke with your SOE, they collect you in day or so."

"Well in that case, ya got a name luv?"

"...Josée" Replied the woman after hesitating for a moment. "You?"

"Charles, but everyone calls me Charlie."

From what I've seen, you guys write back stories or things off mission and off base. If that is true, could I write something about my Character?

Epic. Simply epic.

And why can't I help but picturing it looking like the Nazi book-burning rally from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, complete with the Königgrätzer Marsch playing as you parade around with their severed heads on bayonets?

Quite.
That war still scares the shit out of Great ustio.

It's a coincidence that he's named that considering that I'm based off Belka from ACZ.
The current war that we are fighting is the great European conflict (our ww1)

Wars fought:

The 2nd balken war (1979-1984) (draw)

The poldakian conflict (2012-2013) (Victory)

The bangado war (2012) (victory)

(many other wars were fought in our 1400 year history, most were victories)

I think the best war (RP wise) was the 2nd balken war.

We don't really fight wars.

We had a number of incidents involving zombies.

Every time I got into some kind of war, the thread died.

Though we have some insurgency problems too...

I had a rather....interesting war couple of years back.

Basic backstory was that my sole land border was effectively the modern day version of the Border Reiver period of the Scottish Marches complete with lawlessness and cross-border skirmishes. My nation had effectively gotten so fed up with the situation that it launched a limited invasion with the purpose of taking over the entire border region to bring law and order to it.

What ended up happening was another combatant who launched a surprise attack and captured an island province that was basically Northern Ireland during the Troubles, I opted to surrender since the bulk of my forces were elsewhere.

War ended with peacekeeping forces deployed to the border (thus bringing law and order) and a troublesome province had been captured by somebody else, so in a weird kind of way it ended up being a 'win-win' situation for me.

Interesting! Basically after that space capsule crashed into the space hotel, the country that owned the space hotel launched an EMP nuke.. That took a while to recover from, eat me tell ya. But I pulled my whole alliance into the war (Greater Prussian)..
