After a prolonged hiatus, I've finally posted. I apologize if the ending might seem a bit anti-climatic; the Allies have to take some casualties no? Plus, I thought that the stereotype with Arab men was that they're merciless fighters if you get hand in hand with them. . .

The movie reviews. Not that I'm complaining about them, it's more like a "where the hell did that come from?" reaction. Though you'd think that the way my dad asks random questions from out in left field I'd be used to this sort of thing by now...

Here's an idea! Sure, I'll take the flak for saying this out loud...
Howzabout...
Let's focus on doing more IC posts and less stuff in the OOC thread? Maybe a thought or two going through your characters' heads in the moment, even if they can't perform another immediate action. The prolific backstories are great, but how come we can't get that descriptive in the IC posts?

Good 2nd point.
However, I have asked that we slow down the IC posting until like Friday or so, as I'm a bit busy atm and can't really police it as in-depth as I'd like. Hence the holding pattern we're in here in the OOC.

Decided to do Charlie's training course as a story instead, apologies to those interested in doing it as RP.

Sabres In The Night, Part I

RAF Middle Wallop, Late October 1940

It had been a balmy few days.

Charlie had barely gotten back from Egypt with the rest of the squadron when he found he had orders to report for 'night fighter pilot training' at once, seems somebody had seen this service record and saw that he was qualified for night flying so decided that he would be the perfect candidate. Though all it meant to him was that his wish to fly transports was slipping ever further away from his grasp, the RAF was seemingly hell bent on having him as a combat pilot even though he desired to be nothing of the sort. If he was lucky then perhaps he could get listed as 'Lacking in Moral Fibre' and quietly reassigned elsewhere?

But he didn't count on it.

On the plus side it was buried deep in the rolling Hampshire countryside and paid barely any attention at all by the Luftwaffe who preferred the juicy targets that were the docks of Portsmouth and Southampton. There was also the fact that for the next eight weeks at least he'll be flying training sorties, a different change of pace to the combat ones he'd been flying since the Battle of France began back in May. But he was already having misgivings, first he was certain that he had gotten off at the wrong train station due to the anti-invasion measure of removing all the station names and street signs. Being late evening he was lucky enough to have found a villager to give him his bearings and directions to a red phone box so he could call the airfield and arrange some transport. It would be an hour's wait in the chilly and damp Autumn evening before a Tilly van in the familiar blue-grey of the RAF finally showed up.

Least he'd finally made it, though soaking wet and chilled through to the bone as well as dog tired after a long day spent shuttling back and forth by train to get here. Mercifully he was shown to some billets where a lit coal stove fought back the draught from outside making it slightly bearable, come morning he would get the chance to get his administrative papers checked and signed-off as well as meet his new squadron mates.

First came some well-earned and much desired sleep...

I think it works better this way, for my two cents.

Tomorrow, my eager little RP minion, tomorrow.
Unless you'd like to write my essay on the history of religious minorities in America and how their faith has been changed by the experience for me, and/or my OTHER essay on the religious significance of human bodies as seen in a certain portion of the readings I've been assigned.
All due tomorrow.
