Carter: Savrinola will face trial
Deportation will be considered, but laws of justice will not be violated for Rodarian policy, says DoJ

Jamestown, FR, UNITED REPUBLIC (UP) — Department of Justice spokesman Logan Carter told reporters during a press conference Friday morning that 54-year-old Maximus Savrinola, a leading Artorian cleric in the United Republic, will face trial contrary to Rodarion's requests for extradition. Savrinola, a Rodarian national, was arrested last Saturday for abducting 27-year-old Amanda Lazni and reportedly torturing and raping her. The CID confirmed Savrinola's ties to Artorian terrorist organizations such as the KCP, and the charges and evidence will likely be involved in the upcoming trial.

"He'll face trial in front of a jury of his peers as per the laws of justice," Carter told the UP. "He committed a crime here and will be tried here for those crimes, regardless of his nationality. That's international custom, and we're not going to waive the laws of justice just because Rodarion wants their criminal back."

Last Monday, Rodarian state news agency RDNNS (Rodarian Divine National News Service) reported that Rodarian Cardinal Secretary of State Aurelius Danarius requested Savrinola's extradition to his home country.

"I ask today that the United Republic's government begin the process of releasing Father Savrinola to us on the grounds of our religious extradition laws," Danarius told reporters during an emergency press conference. "[M]embers of the Artorian clergy must be sent to Rodarion itself to face the charges put against them."

RDNNS also reported that Savrinola is a "loud defender of Artorian rights within the United Republic", also claiming that the "United Republic is well known for its oppression of the Artorian minority." The state news agency, which is known for spreading biased government propaganda, reported that "his [Savrinola's] arrest and subsequent trial is yet a another sign of the United Republic's aim to oppress and destroy the identity of the Artorian community."

Carter did say that extradition would be considered.

"If the jury finds he is guilty and they determine extradition to be the most viable punishment, then that is how it will be done," he told reporters.

The United Republic Department of Foreign Affairs has refused to comment on Rodarion's requests for extradition.

Protests emerge in response to Emmerian sectarianism

Celestis City Police hold the line outside the United Republic's Embassy

Following news that Father Maximus Savrinola is to be put on trial in the United Republic has sparked popular protest across the capital today, the live press conference by the Department of Justice's spokesman Logan Carter confirmed the Church's fears that Father Savrinola will be paraded before the baseless and corrupt Emmerian justice system as a vile individual who apparently tortured and raped a non-Artorian woman.

Around 11,000 people have written a pertition to the Department of Foreign Church Affairs, which deals with Artorian communities across Pardes, demanding further action to secure Father Savrinola's extradition to Rodarion to be questioned by the Religious Conduct Council. A spokesman for the Palace of Benediction stated in response, "This decision by the Emmerian Government rings true in the ears of Artorians, they have publically confirmed our statements that they intend to silence the Artorian community within Emmeria. The Church and Government of Rodarion will do all within its power to secure his release and his extradition to home soil".

Since midday, the crowd outside the United Republic's embassy has grown from 100 to nearly 4,000, with the crowd chanting "Death to Emmeria", "Down with those who embrace evil" and "Free our brother, or feel the pain of arrogance". The police deployed 50 riot police outside the embassy to protect it from any outlandlish actions. The Celestis Police Command has warned the crowd against such behaviour, stating it will only escalate the situation and damage the Divine Republic's standing as a open and calm society. However at around 6pm, a petrol bomb was thrown at the plaque stating the official name of the Embassy. Graffiti has been sprayed across the walls, with most being anti-Emmerian.

Cardinal Secretary for Domestic Affairs, Regulus Orcinius gave a quick comment several hours ago.

"The actions of the people of Celestis and indeed the Divine Republic is a great sign of the pride and dedication the Rodarian people have to the safety and protection of our Artorian brothers and sisters across the seas and lands. The Emmerians have themselves to blame should any happen, they refused our calm and well presented request that Father Savrinola be returned to us so that he may answer to the supposed crimes he has been accused of.

I am sure however, that the Celestis Police will protect the embassy fully and this situation will die down within a few days. I shall of course offer prayer for this to happen, but my main focus is the pray for the well being of Father Savrinola and for this ill time he is experiencing to fade away, so that he may return to us and be welcomed as a long lost son".

Father Savrinola was arrested last Saturday, in what Emmerian's have claimed was a two hour standoff with armed police in response to the abduction of a young woman, upon which Father Savrinola handed himself in and was arrested for assault and rape against the woman in question. However due to Emmerian sectarianism this is most likely baseless and merely forumalted lies dedicated to silencing Father Savinrola who has been a major voice in the rights of Artorians in the United Republic. Emmeria has been a major player in the global oppression of Artorians and is a key link in the chain of arrogance and evil.

The crowds returned home at around 7pm this evening, yet police coverage of social networking sites has led them to believe that tomorrow will bring a large and more organised crowd. Lead protester, Larius Tyrin, 25 stated that "the longer Father Savrinola is held illegally by the Emmerian fascists, the worse this crowd will get and I don't know how long we can hold the angered souls back from storming this place".

Palaiokeraséa Archipelago, Gressia — Earlier this week, the Tarsan Empire launched an unprovoked, full-scale invasion on the Shahdom of Mardullah, a former territory of the old Tarsan Empire of antiquity.

"The era of imperialism has passed long ago," commented Deputy Secretary of External Affairs Stamatis Marinus. "It shocks me that a nation that would are call themselves 'enlightened' still believe that such an unprovoked attack would go along unnoticed".

A few nations, including the Western Confederal States and the United Republic of Emmeria, are preparing to place economic sanctions on the Tarsan Empire and are calling on the CDI (Central Defense Initiative) to send a peacekeeping force to the region to assist in stabilizing the troubled region. Other nations, namely the Havenwalder Republic is preparing to send military support to the Shahdom under the name Operation "Freedom's Fury".

One nation that has political analysts confused is the Pravene Federation, a small socialist nation located near Havenwalde. Once throwing their full support behind the Tarsan Empire, Pravengria seems to have taken a 180 degree turn in the other direction, and are wishing to participate in whatever action the CDI takes. When asked to comment on Pravengria's indecisiveness, Foreign Minister Angelos Areleous said, "They're communists... does it really matter what course of action they [Pravene Government] take?"

With everything that's going on, it should be no surprise that Gressia is taking action. Following reports of the initial Tarsan invasion, the Imperial Armed Forces have began to partially mobilize and run training exercises in the Palaiokeraséa Archipelago. The Estovakivan base, located on the main island of Aglavísta, has been largely quiet but there is speculation that a build up might be in the works.

Amidst these dark times, there is a glimmer of hope. Early today the government has announced that they are initiating talks with the Hegemonic Union (HU) in regards to a joint intervention plan for Mardullah. While the Ministry of Affairs has not released specific information regarding the talks, there are rumors and speculation going around that say that direct military intervention will not be happening.

Regardless of whatever path the government takes, the people's opinion is no secret. Large numbers of people have discontinued practicing Tarsan paganism, instead converting to the native Hellenic paganism or Latin paganism. Police say that there have been an increased number of attacks on Tarsan-based businesses and people of Tarsan origin.

"It's clear the people want to fight," Deputy Secretary Marinus commented. "It's only a matter of time before the government realizes it".

Havenwalder Authorities have been put on high alert in areas populated by Tarsan citizens residing in the country.

The increasing violence by Middle Easterners against Tarsan citizens has gained the attention of the Ministry of Immigration which after a swift press confrence told Republic Network Hub that the "deportation of Tarsan citizens back to Tarsas are being proposed for there own safety"this move may also be another part of the sanctions put on the Tarsan Empire which would require the closing of Tarsan buisnesses and shops and that their civilians be sent back to Tarsas while Havenwalders who might be staying would be required if they wish back to Havenwalde.

Tarsan Paganism brings death and pain to all

Cardinal Secretary Taras Vilarius has launched a verbal warning against all of Pardes today, regarding the threat that emerges from the Tarsan Empire. His speech comes days after Tarsas began its illegal and unprovoked invasion of Mardullah, with the aims of spreading its unatural and archaic faith to the Muslims of Mardullah.

Cardinal Taras Vilarius has been a loud opposer of Tarsan paganism which he sees as the height of Man's ignorance to the true light of God and the true form of madness when rejecting the Path to Enlightenment as offered through Artorianism. Cardinal Vilarius as well as other major Cardinals within the Council of Sacred Cardinals have formed a small faction advocating the isolation of the Tarsan Empire from Pardes, this group is believed to present its case to the Council today, in which it is rumoured they will demand that the Divine Republic request that economic sanctions are placed on the Empire.

Speaking at the Holy College of Celestis, Cardinal Vilarius said, "When we see Tarsas yet again engage in wars of expansion and imperialism, we can only feel repulsed by this horror. Wars of expansion are wars of nations beset by fear and clear inadequacies, however these nations though pitiful and centrally weak are to be feared, or rather seen as what they are - threats to peace and harmony.

Paganism within Tarsas is the heart of this problem, the nation is forever in the service to a cabal of bloodthirsty and adulterous demi-gods who seek only to further their mythological power through the weak minded leaders of the Tarsan Empire. Tarsan Paganism in short is a religion for blood and death, as long as the Tarsan Empire can continue to fund its violent and bloodthirsty persuits, Pardes will never be safe. I demand and call out to all major powers in Pardes, please place economic sanctions on the Tarsan Empire, starve the beast dry. I pray to God that the Mardullahan nightmare is short and that the peoples of Pardes come to reject this madness from across the sea".

The Divine Republic has warned its businessmen and tourists to remain away from Tarsas and Mardullah, warning them about their own safety. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been formulating a pan-Pardesian communique in which it will call for pan-regional cooperation in halting the Tarsan war of genocide against the Muslims of Mardullah.

The Ministry is set to propose the communique to the region within the next couple of days, till then the Ministry has stated it will continue to lodge official words of disgust against the Tarsan Empire. Several other nations have taken direct moves to oppose Tarsas, the Central Defence Initiative (CDI) has been dicsussing the possibility to sending in a peacekeeping force to maintain peace within the region. However several Cardinals including his holiness the Doci, have stated reservations over the CDI's intentions, one Cardinal said, "The CDI's plan is simple, replace the Tarsan invasion force with their own". The Divine Republic will remain vigilant and will hold the interests of Mardullah at heart.

Churches across the Divine Republic and indeed Artorian communities across Pardes have answered the Doci's radio call for prayers in support of Mardullah, millions of people have taken part in street sermons in which Clerics have prayed for the continued freedom and protection of the Mardullahan nation.

PROVISA, New Belhavia — The Imperial War Ministry released a public statement announcing that the 5th Fleet, on-route home from its recently successful victory in the liberation of Anglynova, would be sailing through the region of Pardes to conduct naval exercises. When asked for further comment, a Navy spokesman elaborated that the change in itinerary for the triumphant 5th was a matter of "demonstrating Imperial force projection on a global scale...the swing through Pardes would be a slightly longer home voyage for the 5th Fleet but its activities would prove to be worthwhile."

When questioned about the abrupt change in course through a region home to the United Republic of Emmeria and other nation-states that are participatory members of the International Coalitional for Expansion, many of whom are vocal critics of the A.C.A., the spokesman replied indignantly that "the Empire does not factor in saber-rattling and weak bravado into its deployment of military power...Pardes was selected for a week or two of exercises because it is a prominent southern region."

The United Republic of Emmeria, a leader in the prominent global anti-slavery alliance International Coalition for Expansion, or I.C.E., has recently engaged in vitriolic rhetoric against the A.C.A., with U.R. Secretary Laura Basara alleging in a speech last week that the global anti-communist defensive alliance was "imperialist," "far-right," "littered with fascism," and in the midst of "collapsing." Such comments provoked a dismissive reply from Foreign Minister Lord Joseph Hansdann, who disputed such remarks as "contrived...and lacking any basis in reality." Yesterday, the U.R. State Department released the "Burns Amendment," clarifying the Castille Doctrine that "will actively oppose all oppressive or extremist political, economic, or social policies of governance across the modern political spectrum...it is essential to declare further opposition to ideals of hardline corporatism...[the United Republic] will hereby oppose all forms of hardline corporatism, fascism, communism, tyrannical absolute monarchism and autocratism."

Deputy Foreign Minister for Allied Affairs Jacen Gray, himself a key actor in categorically denouncing recent anti-ACA vitriol, was pressed by reporters as he was leaving a black-tie gala hosted at the Prussian embassy in downtown Provisa Sunday night. Told about the Burns Amendment and asked for a reply, he retorted casually that "I have no comment - this doesn't concern the Empire or the ACA." When asked again whether this was another line of attack by the Emmerians, he waved his hand indifferently and said evenly that "the anti-ACA media narrative has been thoroughly discredited...it is established fact that the ACA is a broad-spectrum alliance whose anti-communist ideology has roots and support from the moderate left straight through to the right...as the ACA is not fascist nor corporatist, this latest proclamation by Oured doesn't really pertain to [the ACA]."

In what diplomatic and international political analysts are calling "another escalation" of the informal "war of words" between the Empire and Republic and Commonwealth of Akimonad, President Quigley answered a question from the Emmerian United Press media group regarding New Belhavian military capabilities in one of his latest 'Fireside Chats' on the recently released Kalian Report on Tyrrhenian regional security, where he claimed that "I would caution them to consider their position compared to Akimonad...[w]e are capable of fielding a much greater amount of forces at any single moment--and ours are better equipped and trained." However, Quigley cautioned that "[The Empire has] [sic] not shown any inclination of threatening the Republic and Commonwealth directly in the past, however." When this was brought to the attention of the Imperial War Ministry, War Minister Jan Argan called the Provisa Times back to personally respond. He commented gruffly that "Akimonadi forces are in no way 'better equipped or trained' than Imperial forces...it is well-acknowledged that New Belhavia has one of the most advanced and technologically-enhanced militaries in the world today. It would be to the Akimonadis' benefit that we do need to...test such claims in the near future."

When asked on whether rumors flying around senior military circles in the War Ministry that the 5th Fleet's time in Pardes could be extended, Argan paused and answered vaguely that "the 5th Fleet's itinerary...is always subject to change."

A spokesperson from the Arthuristan Ministry of Defence has confirmed that significant elements of the People’s Navy Home Fleet will be conducting a major exercise in the Central Ocean “in the coming weeks.”

The announcement, signalling the APN’s first major deployment after the Ralkovian War, has stunned military and political analysts in the region in light of the near total loss of the 4th Fleet's surface elements recently. According to Professor Moira Macdonald, University of Loweport, "The government is attempting to reassure the public at home and allies abroad. After the disaster in Tyrrhenia and the near constitutional meltdown that followed, there was a perceived need to demonstrate that the Fleet's ability and the government's resolve to defend Arthurista and her friends in the region."

Among the forces to be deployed, the assets that received the most attention is the brand new hyperdreadnought APNS Invincible, the flagship of the Home Fleet. Also present will be the first of the new Vengeance Class fleet carriers, approximately double the size of the older Icarus Class, the current mainstay of the APN’s naval aviation, as well as the new Nova-B stealth recon drone. It will also be an opportunity to test out new doctrines and tactics developed in response to recent operational experience, which showcased the need for enhanced ASW and air warning capabilities.

The exercise, dubbed Operation Ulysses, is expected to coincide with the expected exercise of the New Belhavian Imperial Navy 5th Fleet in both geographical location and timeframe. MINDEF has declined to comment on whether this is deliberate, other than describing the deployment as ‘routine’. An anonymous source, however, has reported that the term “those bloody reactionaries” was used to describe New Belhavia during a recent meeting between senior cabinet ministers and Naval Staff by an unidentified attendee. It is yet to be confirmed whether there would be any Emmerian participation in the exercises, considering the general consensus among pundits that New Belhavia’s exercise was largely aimed at the United Republic.

Deployments extended for Transnapastaini sailors

Subrosa – Transnapastaini Admiral Eric Cartwright, chief of Naval Operations, announced Thursday that sailors and airmen assigned to elements of the Transnapastaini Fifth and Tenth fleet, deployed in support of ACA-sanctioned operations earlier this year., and who were scheduled to return to Transnapastain within the month, will be deployed “longer than anticipated”.

This announcement comes on the heels of an agreement brokered between the Imperial government of New Belhavian and the Transnapastaini Office of Executer, with consent from the Office of Military Affairs, for Transnapastaini sailors and airmen to participate in joint naval exercises with Imperial Forces. General Erin Carriage, Director of the Office of Military Affairs, announced the agreement was intended to “increase the level of efficiency and effectiveness of allied forces when deployed jointly, as well as a foster closer relations between ourselves and the government of New Belhavia.”. New Belhavian authorities have planned the site and time table for the exercises, which are scheduled to take place in international waters off the coast of the Republic of Emmeria, located in the Pardes region. The purpose of the exercise, according to Admiral Cartwright, is to demonstrate both the solidarity and military prowess of the allied nations participating in the Anti-Communist Alliance. Cartwright, along with officials from the Office of Foreign Affairs, were quick to debunk rumors that the location of the exercises was in any way related to strained relations between allied nations and members of the Pardes region. When questioned as to why the location was chosen, Admiral Cartwright replied "Its a common waterway and central of both fleet's routes on the return trip from Anglynova."

The decision to extend the deployments of the Fifth and Tenth fleet, and to involve them in the upcoming exercises, was “the only logical choice” acceding to Admiral Cartwright. Both fleets, along with several Transnapastaini Army divisions, have been deployed to the nation of Anglynova since earlier this year, participating in an ACA-sanctioned operation to assist the rightful government in suppressing a briefly successful ccoup d'étatby communist rebels, led by Dominic Hewitt. The regime included several war criminals convicted in the 2009 Transnapastaini intervention in Anglynovan affairs, after members of the now defunct government detonated a weapon containing a chemical agent over populated areas, killing thousands.

Both the fall of the illegal regime and the transition from Communist regime to orderly republic occurred quickly and near bloodlessly, according to government sources, allowing the majority of the Army personal stationed in the country to withdrawn well before the anticipated date. The Naval and Air Fleet presence, however, remained to deter outside forces from interfering in the transitional process.

However, with elections completed and the smooth hand off of power from the TAA to the Angylnovan authorities completed, Transnapastaini military presence in and around the tiny nation were no longer required, resulting in plans for both battle fleets to be withdrawn and return to their home ports in Livas and Cestra Heights by the end of the year. The announcement from the Office of Military Affairs stated the duration of the deployments had been extended by an undetermined length.

Families of the effected servicemen were understandably dismayed that their loved ones would be longer in returning home than anticipated. However, reaction among effected citizens was generally posative, citing the need for the Navy to “show the flag” as one citizen put it against potential enemies of Transnapastain, the ACA, and its cause. "It's right that we should show our strength to the world." Emily Thaler, wife of Captain Johnathan Thaler, An SF-101E1 pilot stationed aboard the TNS Divine Right, explained. "We did it in Angyloova, twice now. The world needs to recognize that we are mighty, and its actions like these that allow us to do that. Yes, I'm sad that Johnathan won't be home as soon as we planned, but I'm also proud to see him serve his nation and the Directorate."

Tarsas Calls For Summit On Negotiating Naval Exclusion Zone

Emperor Romulus X, in response to the naval exercises declared by New Belhavia, has called for a conference to be hosted in the Tarsan capital of Civitas Tarsae in relation to the current issue at hand. He has called for all Pardesi countries to send a diplomat.

"All countries of Pardes should send a diplomatic envoy for the immediate negotiation of a Naval Exclusion Zone. We simply cannot tolerate blatant regional invaders such as New Belhavia entering the region with such a sizable force simply to make a point to a single country. We must show our solidarity in this area. I call everyone to temporarily put aside their differences in Mardullah to come and begin negotiations to end this offense."

The Emperor has personally guaranteed that not a single diplomat will be harmed and full diplomatic protection is in effect. The convention center that is to host the event will be temporarily declared an international diplomatic zone in light of recent events.

"This is not an attempt to pull some petty regional power play, but it is an attempt to show the world that Pardes can put aside its differences to keep out regional invaders. I personally insure not a single diplomat will be harmed. The National Convention Center will be declared as neutral international territory for the duration of the summit."

The blatant allowance of an enemy navy to make its way into Pardes and conduct exercises has incensed many throughout Tarsas and has many influential senators demanding a response. The navy has sat mostly unused on standby during the recent Mardullah conflict. This has left many to demand it to be utilized so tax payer harkans are not wasted.

It is rumored that other topics, such as the invasion of Mardullah, could be brought up at the summit. Emperor Romulus has said he is open to discussion of Human Rights and permitting international aid to assist civilians in Mardullah. He has said a Tarsan withdrawal will not be discussed however.

The conference will be the first in which Tarsas has been directly involved in. The trade orientated nation has taken a neutral stance in the vast majority of Pardesi affairs since the war with Canhadast concluded and a long term peace plan was established.

The conference also highlights the fact that Tarsas has been preparing to take a stronger stance in Pardesi affairs since the invasion of the rebellious province has drawn a lot of attention. Particularly the fact that Tehraan will likely be directly involved. The northern nation has thus far not made any moves toward the Tarsan mainland. The economic impact of the conflict has been thus far minimal, but with sanctions being imposed, the full diminishing of trade will likely send ripples across the proverbial pond that is the Tarsan economy. Experts say that once Mardullah is gained, the rest of Pardes, many of whom are reliant on Mardullan oil, will change their tone.

A spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said this. "With this show of quick and brutal force, many Pardesi, who saw Tarsas as nothing more than a far removed state kept constantly in check by the Canhadasti presence, have reassessed their claims and have now categorized Tarsas as a true and threatening power within the region. Saxonopl', Pravengria- Just a day ago, the Royal Court was called to Assembly. Making up the composition of the many delegates of various parts of the government included both houses of Parliament, the President, Prime Minister, the Crown and the Justice Ministry. What came out after the Assembly showed the concern for Havenwalde a nation west of Pravengria across the Adenmale sea. During the meeting, it was decided to open a referendum to the populace over whether or not Pravengria should get involved in the Mardullah conflict. Out of this came tension with Havenwalde when it was noted of their arms build up.

DEFSAT a global system developed with CoAN nearly a decade ago and of which has undergone numerous upgrades has been put online to monitor Havenwalde movements, and alert of any possible attack. Earlier yesterday, His Majesty with approval of the Assembly has put Pravengria at DEFCON 3, meaning silos are now armed with conventional warheads, and them and the Pravengrian Airfroce along with the Pravene Defense Army can mobilise in as little as 15-30 minutes in case of attack.

Havenwalde media has branded the Pravene government a regime and claimed the missiles could be nuclear, as General Braum stated not long after Assembly, ''It is clear that Havenwalden analysts are not as bright as they'd like to believe.'' Braum who's been a General of the Defense Army, a specialized force meant for fast reaction in case of attack believes that Havenwalde is tying into propaganda showing that their nation probably controls the media hands down.

The missiles that have been transported to numerous sites across Pravengria and the Shield, have the range to attack eastern Havenwalden coast with ease. However, orders from Central 6 have been clear and of which Braum was able to give some insight on. He stated to the Adrionopl press that PADS, the Pravene Air Defense system, along with the Missile bases that have been armed are indeed conventional warheads, and that they will not be used unless Havenwalde decides to provoke or in other words attack.

His Majesty ordered submarines and radar beacons to actively scan for any suspicious activity in the Adenmale sea. As well as up security and patrols in the shield and straights around the Island country. ''The last thing we want is a war, and I want Havenwalde to fully understand that calling us the aggressors is nothing more than a scapegoat because they refuse to look in a mirror. We want them to understand that Pravengria is watching them carefully and will only back down if they do so.''

One of things that striked Braum in the media reports from Havenwalde was their assumption of Pravengria arming silos with nuclear warheads. He made it clear that the only time nuclear warheads would be armed is if the nation was at DEFCON 1. He stated that arming the silos is a defensive measure as they can actively engage enemy surface and air targets as well as can act as Cruise missiles.

3 Natalian spies arrested

One of the three spies is escorted from her home in Celestis, all three spies originate from the Social State of Natalia

Three spies were arrested today in the late hours of the afternoon, following a successful campaign by the Celestis City Police in which all three were confrimed to be nationals from the Social State of Natalia and serving its special service. The three were arrested simultaneously at their home in the disctric of Olympius Dae. They were immediately escorted by the CCP to the local police station where they will be transformed to the high security prison at Dermiter.

According to the CCP, the three spies were under state surveillance for the past 3 months. The three individuals arrived in Rodarion under work placement visas six months ago. Katrina Drees, 22, Bastiaan Boedeker, 38 and Anders De Haas, 31 are to face trial before the Holy Court tomorrow, where they will be sentenced to death. They have been denied any legal rights for being foreign nationals and breachers of national security.

Head of the Celestis Police Command, Theo Taranae gave this statement following their arrest.

"The three Natalian nationals that we have arrested, are certifiably employees of the Social State's special services, they have been operating within the Divine Republic for the past six months, of which have been reported on many occassions of strange behaviour as well as strange activities within their home and at work. We believe, through extensive surveillance, that they have been collecting information on Rodarian businesses, transport links in the capital and basic social areas. From that we have filed a report stating the threat of terrorism from the Social State, but today is a victory not only for the CCP but the Divine Republic as a whole. I am confident that the CCP and the Divine Republic will continue to exercise total control over its borders and will in future, continue to defeat any unorthodox attempt by the SSN to destabilise the nation or gather intelligence for a clandestine attack".

Two years ago, 25 Natalian nationals from the Social State were arrested in connections to human trafficing rings and pornographic circles. Since then, visa permits for nationals from the SSN have been increasingly been made difficult to obtain. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Faith Communication and Protection are expected to make statements later today regarding the arrest of the three Natalian nationals. Several members of the security service and senior members of the Church believe that Premislyd has been financing the Natalian adventures in Rodarion and has even pressured them into taking violent clandestine action within the Divine Republic.

Rodarion seizes Natal Citizens, state denies allegations

Earlier this day, the Rodarian state telivision, known officially as Radorian Divine National News Service reported the capture is three Natalian citizens by the Celestis City Police on charges of espionage for which they are found guilty prior to to any trail actaully taking placee. KKatrina Drees, age 22, Bastiaan Boedeker, age 38 and Anders De Haas, age 31, were allegedly according to the official story in Rodarion for business reasons in the theocracy although neighter detail about the nature of this business and no statement from any family member of any of the victims has been given.

Following this however state spoke person, Executor and General Hendriksoon Molenaar has degreed an official state denying the allegation that either of the three were spies or even involved in any intelligence operation.
The general said the following in an excerpt from the official statement.

"These people were not but innocent bystanders, chosen by a cruel fifth rate regime with absolutely no dignity or respect for any courtesy in existence what so ever, for a show trail aimed only to legitimize they're transgressions aimed at us. Everything exists either for them to use, abuse and anything that fails to satisfy this desire is removed. The fact that they stoop so low as to shamelessly use false accusations in order to maintain facade of fear to retain any sense of legitimacy goes to show how legitimate they are as a state.

The Social state of Natalia condemns this preposterous accusation of both our citizens, of the social state and we condemn the waist of tax on a the farce of a the Rodarian leaders dare call a legal system."

But what can be done about this is what ultimately stays on minds of many. Recent poles asking citizens whether or not more direct action should be taken showed that well over 60% wants to government take action beyond condemning. Less then 50% stated the government should not take any action and the remainder had no opinion.

But what would the government be able to do short of a full scale war. And that for many is ultimately the main issue, one most would like to avoid.

PROVISA, New Belhavia — Yesterday, Emmerian and Akimonadi officials reignited a diplomatic conflict dubbed by international analysts as the "War of Words" after a two-week hiatus which was upended Wednesday by back-to-back vitriolic speeches denouncing the Anti-Communism Alliance's last public relations coup in accepting the Pardesian nation of Premislyd into the ACA's ranks, restoring a presence of the global anti-communist defensive alliance into the southern region of Pardes. Radio Free Haven, a prominent Akimonadi media outlet, headlined an article with the provocative title "tyranny spreads to Pardes." Akimonadi Director for External Affairs Frederick Bremer, a frequent and particularly virulent critic of the ACA, was reported as saying that "forces currently stationed in Emmeria would remain there until further notice." The United Press reported yesterday that the top Emmerian diplomats, Deputy Secretary of State Richard Burns and his superior, Secretary of State Lana Basara, gave complementary talks with the press echoing Akimonad's anti-ACA rhetoric. Burns alleged that "[t]hose fascist failures [the ACA] are only going to undermine and damage the forever ongoing fight for freedom...[t]hey're grasping at their last straws in their last-ditch attempt at rejuvenating their continually decreasing influence and power, and to halt the late rise of their continued irrelevance on the world stage."

When asked at a press conference about the denigrating rhetoric emitting from the ACA's self-appointed critics, Deputy Foreign Minister for Allied Affairs Jacen Gray snorted and launched a counter volley, in which he began to mock Deputy Secretary of State Richard Burns. "I wonder how lax the drug laws are in Emmeria," he taunted contemptuously, "Because I fear that Secretary Burns has been smoking a few too much of certain substances." He continued in a sardonic tone, sneering that "Secretary Burns' comments are quite bizarre...international analysts have already discredited and discarded his rather...intellectually-lacking theory on the ACA's current global position. In fact, with Premislyd's admission into the ACA, along with several other nation-states just this week, the alliance's future couldn't be brighter...nor our power and influence on the global stage ever greater."

When pressed on the Emmerian officials' repeated use of the adjective 'crypto-fascist' to the ACA's membership, the Deputy Minister shrugged. "I honestly couldn't tell you...the fact is, objective analysis of the alliance reveals we are a mainstream right-leaning organization...with a healthy mix of democracies, monarchies, and other respected government forms. Secretary Burns' remarks are outright false, and its rather pathetic, really, to watch as the Castilla administration continues its failing 'rally-around-the-flag' tactics to distract the Emmerian people from its foreign policy failures on the world stage, including ICE's humiliating defeat in its disastrous war with the Ralkovian Empire." He paused, then quipped, "I'm glad to see that [Secretary Burns] is getting his daily talking points memo from Kent [the Akimonadi capital]."

Gray himself has seen his political star skyrocket as he has become the face of the ACA's public relations and media machine. The twenty-eight-year-old diplomat, the younger son of corporate mogul Harold Gray of Gray Industries & Oil Consortium, is reportedly interested in running for the Imperial Senate in Freeport Province in 2014, currently occupied by retiring Sen. John Farstein (LD). The "War of Words" has raised his national profile: a poll released by the Provisa Times/Adrian Foundation on March 13th revealed that Gray's name recognition among the general Imperial population went from less than 1% to 27% in the matter of five weeks. Confidential sources revealed through an expose on ProvisaInsider.com, an all-politics website, that Foreign Minister Joseph Hansdann is grooming Gray to be a leading neoconservative voice when he enters the Senate, if he wins his expected-to-be tough campaign for the open Senate seat in 2014.

In a move that sent the Provisa Stock Exchange into a single-day gain of 236 points, Roth Industries C.E.O. and President Michael Roth announced Wednesday at a special press conference that the transnational corporation had signed a $6.4 million contract with the Pyrion Group, a prominent Imperial arms manufacturer, private defense contractor, and security service outfit, to protect Roth Industries assets and shipping in Pardes. Roth Industries is within the top ten largest global corporations in the world, with brands in nearly every sector of goods and services. Roth cited the War of Words and escalating tensions, concluding that "the risk of war in Pardes is exceedingly high; this move will protect company resources in one of the most trafficked sea lanes in the world." He added that "two dozen warships, maintained and staffed by Pyrion employees, will be attached to mercantile convoys in international waters - particularly the Central Ocean - to protect such corporate merchant vessels from military harassment. Other combat craft will be attached to single high-value trading vessels and oil tankers as needed." Two regiments of Pyrion private defense contractors - decried as mercenaries in some parts of the world - were announced to be deployed to corporate facilities throughout Pardes. When asked by a United Press reporter whether this move was serving as a proxy to Belhavian efforts to "intimidate" the United Republic, Roth waved a dismissive hand, "Roth Industries is concerned with its bottom-line - not geopolitics. We don't care about this 'War of Words'; we're chiefly concerned with protecting company assets, employees, and resources."

In another move that culminated yesterday's whirlwind set of announcements stroking global tensions, particularly in Pardes, the Imperial Navy announced that the joint naval exercises by the 5th Fleet and the Transnapistaini forces in Pardes' Central Ocean would be extended another two weeks. Admiral Warren, commander of the 5th and the former ACA mission chief in Anglynova, spoke with the Provisa Times over the phone. He intimidated that "the 5th's deployment for exercises in Pardes has been extended two weeks...so I've given the green light to continue to conduct mock naval exercises in the Central Ocean. I've been told by [Naval] Command that we may visit a port of call in Premislyd." When an inquiry on this latest move by the Empire so close to the United Republic was asked, Warren paused momentarily before replying that "our joint exercises...are what they are: simply war games. There's no need for concern."
