Military Spending Increase Amid Increasingly-Turbulent Region
Senators cite emergence of jingoistic, reactionary nations

FAEDRULHULM, FD, Allamunnic States --- The Senate's recently-released budget proposal featured notable increases in defense spending. The increases come amid the emergence of a number of aggressive and worryingly-coordinated nations on the Tyrrhenian political scene.

With the emergence of a number of nations, several of which are declared members of the "Anti-Communist Alliance" in Tyrrhenian regional politics, Allamunnic lawmakers have determined that it would be remiss of them to not increase defense spending by a substantial degree, increasing funding for the Federal Military by an estimated 40% in this most recent budget. The funds are projected to be used to expand the Reserves of the Federal Army as well as improving the equipment issued to the Reserves, expanding the Federal Navy to be a force more capable of defending Central Levantia from external threats, and tightening missile and anti-air defenses.

"The increasing strength in Tyrrhenian affairs of these nations which have shown aggressive foreign policies and, due to their common alliance, are worryingly-coordinated, should be worrying to all good, pragmatic Allamunnae, and presents a threat in the face of any nation who believe that the formerly-existing balance of power was a workable one," Senator Marko Brenner said when pushed about his role in formulating the new budget.

The move also comes as the Allamunnic government is seeking closer ties with Bulgislavia, and there has been internal discussion of pushing for a closer relationship with emerging neighbor Strolingrad. Along with frequent-ally Mykola and close-ally Empiratium Drakonicum, the Allamunnic government has been noted for pushing more and more for a Levantian Council to protect the interests of those nations inhabiting Tyrrhenia's eastern-most continent, particularly those residents of Central Levantia (primarily Empiratium Drakonicum, the States, the Hapsburg Reich of Mykola, Sant Miquel, Hyopria, Bulgislavia, and now Strolingrad) which the Allamunnae count themselves among in an increasingly-dangerous region.

Assisting Task-Force Dispatched to Bulgislavia
Medical Staff and Counter-Insurgency Units sent

In light of a bio-terror attack in Bulgislavia which has caused catastrophic mortality in the former-capital of Terevesti, the Allamunnic Federal Government has dispatched a task force of approximately 500 personnel, composed of approximately 100 medical staff, a company of Federal Army escorting forces for them, and a battalion of counter-insurgency-trained Federal Regulars.

The Federal Army detachment is commanded by Lt. Commander Waaltur Haelgaard, and the lead doctor in the task force is Dr. Lilian McGraw, a doctor from the Federal Institute of Health.

Antall Mate, United Press: The Anti-Communism Alliance has recently ejected one of its longest standing members, Hippostania. Aside from Hippostania's recent internal diplomatic conflict, it has long been a vital member of the ACA. What is your opinion on Hippostania's recent ejection from the alliance?

Lord Joseph Hansdann: Well, Antall, I think characterizing the Republic of Hippostania as "vital" is a bit too kind. The Goldman administration has had cordial relations with the Townsend government, but in all honesty, Weaverly has often espoused… bizarre statements to the international community. Whether asserting that there is a "pro-communist global conspiracy" to this recent outrageous conduct, arresting ambassadors in a violation of international protocol… it has been clear to His Majesty and the Imperial government that Hippostania has always been a nominal member of the ACA. While the Weaverly government has been true to the principles of anti-communism, its frequent controversial statements and actions has lost it any credibility to be an effective partner in promoting freedom, and so the Empire agrees with the decision passed by the alliance leadership in Berlin.

Mate: How will it respond to a major loss of influence on the world stage?

Hansdann: How will the Hippostanians deal with their loss of influence?…I don’t know, to be honest. You’d have to ask them, frankly.

Mate: Will the ACA be able to rapidly recover from the loss of one of its most revered members?

Hansdann: (chuckling) The ACA has no need to "recover" from anything… the alliance is quite strong currently, being both cohesive and united. I would push back against the idea that Hippostania was "revered"—they were certainly friendly with several peer nation-states during their time in the alliance, I have no doubt, but as the representative from Azurand pointed out succinctly, a "silent majority," as it were, was clearly displeased with their conduct. I understand the Prussians performed a full investigation, and came to their decision after reviewing the evidence.

Mate: The International Coalition for Expansion has launched a protracted campaign against the Empire of Ralkovia through the Adiuvo Islands, a sovereign territory of Lamoni. The conflict has sparked widespread interest in how New Belhavia will respond to a war in Tyrrhenia led by extraregional powers. What is New Belhavia's official stance regarding the current conflict between ICE and Ralkovia?

Hansdann: The Empire of New Belhavia has no position in that war, and we are currently neutral, with no intentions of changing our diplomatic status. Of course, it’s troubling to us to have an extraordinary number of extraregional powers bringing a large amount of firepower, men, and war materiel into Tyrrhenia… but as long as our Empire remains at peace, and our allies are not threatened, His Majesty will allow the belligerents in the ICE-Ralkovian war to play things out and see where the cards fall.

Mate: How would the ACA play a role in decision making should it be necessary?

Hansdann: (shakes head) No, I don’t think the ACA has any role to play here… it's simply a question of relevance—there are no communist or socialist powers involved, and this war is not over ideology but over slavery. So no, I don’t anticipate the ACA involving itself in the Ralkovian-ICE war at all.

Mate: Various international organizations have called the ACA an alliance of fascists. Labels such as a "crypto-fascist organization", a term used by Akimonadi President Johnathan Quigley, have been attached to the ACA by a plethora of diplomatic analysts. Although New Belhavia proudly bears the blessings of freedom, not all of its allies do the same. What is your view on the assertion that the ACA is filled to the brim with fascists "hellbent on tyranny"?

Hansdann: (smirks condescendingly) The Republic and Commonwealth of Akimonad has decided to make itself the main opposition to the ACA, for reasons I can’t begin to fathom… its rather hyprocritical, you know… the "Quigley Doctrine" includes Akimonadi ire at many state socialist regimes and dictatorships… yet it denigrates and mocks the ACA? [snorts] The Imperial government has decided to ignore the weak taunts and saber-rattling from the Quigley administration, especially since their anti-ACA policy—long known to the senior ACA leadership, of course, for months—is now codified as the ‘Bremer Corollary’.

On a factual basis, such ridiculous claims have no bearing… in reality, our membership is quite diverse along the political spectrum… three or four out of twenty-four members ascribe themselves as fascist or somewhat authoritarian regimes… Nearly all of our membership is conservative monarchies or republics… so the oft-repeated claims made by the Akimonadis are simply false, and rather slanderous. But as I've said previously, we’ve taken to ignoring such blatantly wrong and malicious rhetoric from our self-appointed enemies, and any news service or self-respecting analyst would ignore such clearly biased vitriol…

Mate: You officially made no comment regarding the recent rumors of a multinational conference on the United Ditorates of Titianicia. As many analysts have confirmed, Titianicia's recent interventionism represents a very major security threat to Tyrrhenian nations, and its brutal oppression of rights and freedoms makes it a major target of free nations across the world. How is New Belhavia preparing to respond to the potential threat of Titianicia's enemies entering the region?

Hansdann: Antall, all I can say is this: the IASM is a threat to both regional and international peace, prosperity, and security, and our Empire is leaving all options on the table to dealing with this threat to the free world. That’s all I’ll say on the matter.

Mate: Shifting to a completely different topic, how would you describe the importance of the World Economic Forum in London?

Hansdann: First, I have to say that the New British East India Company is a great economic partner to the Empire, and we Belhavians are honored that we were invited to join such an important economic summit. The WEF will be a conference where innovative economic proposals for the free world will be bantered about and discussed with refreshing candor and a free flow of ideas... His Majesty Emperor Ryan I Adrian is looking forward to reading the report of our representative, Deputy Foreign Minister Zalleran and the rest of the Imperial delegation, on the policies debated at the WEF.

Titianician military launches the first of the Fuhrer classes

The Titianician Armed Forces has recently launched the first of the five Fuhrer class Superdreadnoughts designed for possible strikes against enemy states. At around one point three kilometre long and armed with roughly twenty thousand vertical launch systems it is extremely deadly. The ship's name is the Bōtōyo which literally translates as bastion in old Titianician.

The ship is extremely modern but however has its roots in the ageing Conqueror class Superdreadnoughts which are currently around 100 years old however they where steadily updated. However these battleships are still operational however these battleships are far two slow for the Titianician doctrines modern stance on such things.

However the TAF has been rumoured to be gearing up for another colonisation effort nearer to the homeland. It has also been known to have upgraded the entirety of its military and has made recently made its new mass deployment stratagem very pronounced with its military with it now operating roughly 25 million well trained men at the ready.

Also in the news from Titianicia, the official document concerning the state ideology is about to be published and given to the rather confused people of the world. It is designed to detail the lesser known facts of National Efficientism which have wildly circled the Internet needlessly. This move comes out of establishing facts and not leaving it to misunderstood reasons. It is believed to appear sooner or later in the following month.

TYRRHENIAN 'SITUATION' HEATS UP

BERLIN, German Empire — Many Tyrrhenian governments are becoming apprehensive, as the balance of power becomes more unstable and the preservation of order becomes more uncertain within the region. The recently-begun war between the states of the International Coalition for Expansion — an expansionist organisation dedicated to spreading its own ideology and forcing it onto weaker nations — and the Grand Empire of Ralkovia, the rumours circulating regarding the regional security risk of the IASM, and other smaller-scale conflicts have caused many nations — within Tyrrhenia and without — to become concerned with the situation in the region.

The Republic and Commonwealth of Akimonad, under the guise of conducting "freedom of navigation exercises," has sent a naval task force into Tyrrhenian waters, in an obviously inflammatory designed to provoke and increase the uncomfortableness of the various ACA states within the region — states which Akimonad, regardless of individual ideology and conduct, has wholeheartedly condemned in its hypocritical Bremer Corollary. According to the Akimonadi Radio Free Haven article on the subject, Chairman of the Akimonad Joint Chiefs of Staff Fleet Admiral Stephen Lutvik, at a press briefing, said that these exercises are meant to enforce the "customary international traditions regarding territorial water boundaries." Though it repeatedly affirms its complete innocence and pacifist aims, it is a thin shroud that hides the true intent: provocation of numerous well-established Tyrrhenian states. Though the itinerary for the task force has been determined, the Akimonadi military continues to keep it confidential.

New Belhavia, an ally of the German Empire located in southern Waldenburg, recently released the Kalian Report, a summary of the diplomatic situation in Tyrrhenia and options for neutralisation and peaceful resolution of these conflicts. This report suggests a "workable arrangement for peace" in the ICE-Ralkovia War, and fully addresses the problem of the IASM, a dystopian totalitarian dictatorship south of Ralkovia, considered by many conservative Tyrrhenian countries to be a regional security threat, acknowledging it as a technological backwater and "barbarian realm of premodern savages." With its rampant warmongering, fiscal irresponsibility, and virtually psychopathic desire for war, the Titanician government is not predicted to survive very long on its own, barring any unexpected outside influences.

Other nations in Tyrrhenia, such as the Allamunnic States, have expressed concern over the growth of conflict in the region. It was reported by the Tyrrhenian Broadcasting Corporation that the Allamunnic government is apprehensive over the "emergence" of "jingoistic, reactionary" states in Tyrrhenia. Observing the newfound domination of the region by the Anti-Communism Alliance, they have increased their annual defence budget by forty percent, and begun forging alliances with radical Leftist nations such as Strolingrad. Despite the fact that the Allamunnic States would not even be "on the anti-communist radar," so to speak, they have joined the "Quigley Cabal" in living up to their de facto reactionary foreign policies by arming themselves against a nonexistent threat and virtually attempting to provoke the ACA to action where action need not be taken.

The IASM, despite the government's apparent bankruptcy and ghastly urbanite conditions, has also began 'beefing up' its military, after it's state news agency announced that five new Führer-class dreadnought battleships were being built for service in the Titanician Navy. The German Empire has not officially reacted to this unexpected turn of events, but it is expected that His Majesty is taking the idealistic and ultimately bombastic über-militarism trumpeted by the Titanician state well in stride, as always.

PROVISA, New Belhavia — In the last couple of weeks, a virtual "war of words" has erupted between officials in governments supporting, part of, or opposing the Anti-Communism Alliance, the eight-month-old global defense alliance that has sparked either warm embrace or withering criticism across the world community.

The United Republic of Emmeria, a leader in the prominent global anti-slavery alliance International Coalition for Expansion, or I.C.E., released a scathing attack on the A.C.A., led by U.R. Secretary of State Laura Basara, who denounced the A.C.A. as "an imperialist far-right organization littered with fascism and tyranny...[that is] detrimental to international diplomacy" in a press conference on Thursday in Oured, the Emmerian capital. She continued to claim that the " [A.C.A.] is the very personification of a radical far-right fascist movement, thinly veiled in a cover of opposition to communism...the ACA is collapsing both from within and out."

During a campaign-style swing through eastern New Belhavia today, barnstorming in the port city of Freeport for his comprehensive tax reform legislation kicking off his second-term agenda, President Eli Goldman was asked by reporters at a post-rally press conference about comments made by Basara and earlier criticism levied by Akimonadi President Quigley.

"Secretary Basara and President Quigley are flat-out wrong," he bristled visibly. The Office of the President had declined repeatedly to respond to our inquiries on this matter previously. "I won't even give their outrageous comments any dignity of a response." He dismissed, moving on to take questions on the likelihood of Senate passage of his tax reform bills. Hours after her press conference, an anonymous staffer from within the U.R. State Department leaked a memo to our correspondent in Oured, Emmeria.

The memo outlined Emmerian strategy on the A.C.A. One section noted that "[a]lthough the government generally considers [the Empire of] New Belhavia to be one of the few more moderate nations in the ACA, the alliance itself is generally seen in a negative light as an attempt for promoting fascist imperialism. Oured [U.R. capital] prefers to adopt an unofficial brinkmanship strategy when opposing the ACA as a collective organization, often using the Castilla Doctrine for solid ground when the ACA turns up on the opposite side of an issue." The source asserted that "I believe the current strategy involves a sort of measured response regarding ACA actions, and you can bet that they'll be watching what comes out of Gratenburg as closely as they can—if something does happen," he said, referring to an ongoing conference in Gratenburg, Elcric Kcalb, on Tyrrhenian regional security attended by the Prussian, Imperial, and Kcalbite heads of state. "I don't have the authorization to speak," he continued, "but Oured believes that Gratenburg may involve military intervention in Titianicia, and I think they've got some plans higher up the flag pole if something like that happens."

The Imperial Foreign Ministry, and their German and Kcalbite counterparts, declined to reply for comment.

The Basara speech was disputed by internal Emmerian critics, led by Senator Thomas S. Campbell (R-Geornica). The senator from Geornica is a prominent member of the Conservatist Party of the Republic (CPR), often referred to more simply as 'the Republicans,' the center-right opposition to the current center-left Democratic Liberal Party administration. The senator blasted Secretary Basara on Friday, charging that "It's just President Castilla's weak foreign policy continuing to unravel. After the disastrous defeat in Tyrrhenia, Secretary Basara's statements just prove to be an act of desperation as part of the Castilla administration's latest PR campaign to cover up the defeat at the hands of slavers. His foreign policy has done nothing but put innocent Emmerians in harm's way." The Republican continued to undercut the Secretary's anti-ACA attacks, repeatedly asserting that "[Castille]'s opposing the very ideals we stood by forty years ago; what happened to opposing communism during the Cold War? His domestic policy has all but represented the archetype for socialists in the country." At this rate, " he asserted rhetorically, "we can pack our bags and expect the neo-Soviets to take charge real soon. And that is not the Emmerian way." He concluded darkly. Geornica, as a state within the United Republic, has traditionally been Republican for the last five decades or more. Campbell called the Basara speech a "smoke screen," ostensibly alluding to the leaked U.R. State Department memo that was made available to the Provisa Times.

During a monthly 'Fireside Chat,' Akimonadi President Jonathon S. Quigley and Director for External Affairs Frederick Bremer took questions on Foreign Minister Lord Joseph Hansdann's recent interview with the United Press, an Emmerian media group. Bremer remarked that he found Lord Hansdann's comments on the Quigley Doctrine to be a sign of "ignorance,"and purported that "[t]he ACA is, quite simply, an extremist right-wing group." Quigley added that "we intend to put the fear of God into [the ACA]." At a press conference today, the Foreign Minister was asked to respond.

"Perhaps Director Bremer should grab a dictionary - he's a bit rusty on the definition of 'anti-communism,'" he quipped light-heartedly. Elaborating, Hansdann said that "Anti-communism is not extremist nor 'right-wing': its a broad philosophy stretching from the moderate left through the center to the political right to oppose state socialism, totalitarianism, and communist autocracies." Deputy Foreign Minister for Allied Affairs Jacen Gray, standing with Hansdann at the press event, shot in hastily, "We hear more empty threats and bravado from President Quigley. Just another taunt. This shallow rhetoric...it's quite tiresome, really."

Gray, only 28 years old, is the youngest Deputy Foreign Minister and the second son of corporate mogul Harold Gray, head of the second-largest company in the Empire, Gray Industries & Oil Consortium, the main rival to Roth Industries. ProvisaInsider.com, a favorite website for all-things political, reports that Gray is maneuvering himself into the political limelight to run for the Senate in 2014. A confidante close to Gray alleged that the ambitious young man plans on making political hay out of the escalating global rhetoric over the ACA.

"If the Castille administration continues to slander the ACA's name and, thereby, insult New Belhavia's national character," Hansdann concluded, "The Empire may have to re-examine our diplomatic and trade relationship with the United Republic going forward."

The Titianician Senate has been quoted to be "Extremely satisfied by these events" and "We plan to keep this economic strength high".

Also most noticeable is that the Titianician state's budget has even more noticeablely been generally announced to be Ł$56,405,639,921,400. The national dept is pretty much nonexistent due the Titianician policy of not taking out loans which has payed of in the most part. However the Titianician Senate has been rumoured to be expanding the Opexion bunker systems to house an extra 100 million people.Along with the extra living space it is also rumoured that 20 more factory sectors are being built to increase the production of goods however it is predicted that those goods are arms for future wars.

It has also been confirmed that the United Ditorates is trying to secure the Mediterranician-Mendorian gulf to help expand Titianician interests in the region however it is co-operating with the states that already reside in the region however it is most noticeably completely going to annex these countries diplomatically not though military power although it is believed to be a reason why it is going through.

Meanwhile the Titianician Space Program has announced its to be using its Ayōta orbital fortress to head toward first Mars then Jupiter and finally Barnard's Star to show its mastery of space to the world. It uses a high powered fusion rocket to launch the device into interstellar orbit and into orbit around Baranard's star while most of the journey is done by nuclear pulse engines to launch it out into orbit.

Government Finally Releases Scathing Statement

Gratenburg, Elcric Kcalb - After being pressed for a response for some weeks now to allegations concerning the A.C.A. and the rhetoric of Akimonad and Emmeria, the government finally released a statement concerning them. The statement was comparatively short to others released, but one would only need to read it to find out why.

These past few weeks have seen the government of Akimonad release an addendum to the Quigley Doctrine. Referred to as the "Bremer Corollary," it essentially outlines a policy of hampering the movements of the Anti-Communist Alliance and supporting movements which hamper the Anti-Communist Alliance. Within the same time frame, Akimonad announced that they would be testing their right to freely navigate the waters of Tyrrhenia.

The official statement is as follows.

"Allegations concerning the "failing state" or "waning of influence" of the Anti-Communist Alliance are not factual in any sense of the word. The basis for these ludicrous claims come mostly in the form of grasping straws and connecting events which have no relevance to each other. No further statements will be released by the government or acting officials for the sake of not lending any more credibility to these far-fetched claims."

Generalissimo makes statement with blessing of President and Secretary of State

FAEDRULHULM, FD, Allamunnic States - In the light of increasing turbulence in Tyrrhenian regional affairs, Allamunnic Generalissimo Steven Grimmeberger, in his capacity as commander of the Allamunnic Federal Armed Forces and a powerful figure in the Department of State and with the blessing of President Andrew Filie and Secretary of State John Anderson, made a formal declaration, intended to clarify Allamunnic positions as the balance of power shifts. What follows is a transcription of Grimmeberger's speech.

"There appears to be some confusion in the wishes of the Allamunnic States in regards to our foreign policy, and our views on the development of a new bloc in Tyrrhenia's regional politics. Some have decided that the increase in our defense spending means that we, on principle, oppose the ACA, or the Anti-Communism Alliance. This is, quite simply, a misconception. The ACA nations of Tyrrhenia represent a cohesive bloc which we are unfamiliar with. Unease and caution is the only logical reaction to these developments. To be anything but cautious would be, quite simply, irresponsible. There are also other factors at work behind this increase, but we have deemed it unwise at this time to disclose what they are.

"However, due to this bloc's anti-communist and, more broadly, but more mildly, somewhat anti-leftist stance, we feel we have reason to be concerned for the territorial sovereignty of neighbors in Bulgislavia and Strolingrad. Which is why that we have also come to the decision that now is a fitting time to lay out another principle of our policy.

"The Allamunnic States, due to our position and situation, cannot, and, more to the point, will not tolerate foreign intervention or interference in the affairs of the nations of Central Levantia. For our purposes, this refers to the nations south of the Great Levantian Empire and north of or contiguous to the Turanic Plateau, broadly the region surrounding the Sea of Narsindish, the Trevorian and Fictionese peninsulas, and the corresponding interior reaches.

"Therefore, we will be pursuing two policies to this end. The first is to push for the creation of a Levantian Council, to specifically serve as a forum for conflict resolution and the coordination of the defense of Central Levantian nations. The second is for the Allamunnic States to prepare to aid in the defense of any Central Levantian nation that finds itself under threat from a threat outside of the region of Central Levantia. And as for the rest of the region...we'd just as soon extra-regional powers not be wandering around here with impunity, but...perhaps that's a mission for another day.

"We would like to reiterate that the Allamunnic States means aggression towards none, but will fight to defend its nation, allies, and interests. But, as always, we seek peace, cooperation, and commerce with all who do not wish use and our friends harm. Thank you, we hope we have made our positions clear to the international community."

Some are already calling the principle behind the latter half of the speech "the Grimmeberger Doctrine."

It is arguably the most sweeping declaration regarding the Allamunnic States' foreign policy since Grimmeberger, in his tenure as the nation's dictator, announced their withdrawal, in no uncertain terms, from the Imperial Fascist Alliance, which led to a much less-interventionist foreign policy. However, it appears that this declaration is part of a larger shift back to intervention. It is somewhat difficult to interpret the offer to help Central Levantian nations repel invaders in any other way. If this interpretation is correct, the increase in defense spending (much of which is, apparently, being directed towards the Federal Navy) suddenly makes much more sense.

What is also notable is that the idea of a Levantian Council, a multi-nation forum and vague alliance has been confirmed as being a very real goal of the Allamunnic government, rather than a simple rumor of a long-running multinational project. There is reason to think that other Central Levantian governments have agreed in principle to the idea.

WORLD ECONOMIC FORUM BEGINS

LONDON, Great Britain — The World Economic Forum began in London today. Hosted by the New British East India Company, this conference is expected to have great influence on the world, with several economic giants, such as the German Empire and New Belhavia, attending. Described as "a catalyst for the engagement of business, political, academic and other leaders of society to shape global, regional and industry agendas" in the invitation sent around the world, some neoconservative and anti-globalist politicos have dismissed the Forum as part of a "liberal globalist agenda," such as political analyst and staunch member of the German Conservative Party, Gehard Oeckenpoehler.

Oeckenpoehler has, on his inflammatory radio talk show, attacked the Forum, encouraging the German Empire and other traditionalist states to "stay the f*** away" from the summit. Despite the status of the New British East India Company as a contractor of the Anti-Communism Alliance, he believes there are "powers" at work, to draw "our Great German Realm" into "some pseudo-World-Assembly-type shindig."

He is not alone in these beliefs. On PrussCorp. Television, many of those interviewed on the subject expressed disapproval of Imperial participation in the World Economic Forum, deeming it "contrary to our fundamental Bismarckian principles," as one subject put it. The government, though announcing no official response to these concerns, appears to have no fears as to the purpose of this conference. When questioned as to the overall purpose of the conference by a PrussCorp reporter, the German Deputy Foreign Minister replied that the purpose was exactly as publicised — "imprving the state of the world."

In the official invitation to participate received by the German Empire, several subjects scheduled to be discussed were mentioned. These included the creation of an international currency, a univeral reduction of national debts, the creation of an international anti-corruption court, necessary environmental regulations, closing "the gender gap," and supporting public over public transport. The NBEIC assures us that the WEForum will be "the staging point for economic, political and diplomatic negotiations and debates, focusing on the question: 'How can we ensure economic stability in the world?'"

In an exclusive interview with an anonymous, high-ranking member of the German Foreign Ministry, the purpose of German attendance was actually opposition to most, if not all, of these measures. His Majesty, being a known opponent of the World Assembly and other liberal globalist organisations, was, according to our highly-reliable source in the Foreign Ministry, outraged at the prospect of the expansion of environmental regulations and promotion of the female sex over the working male. The member of the Foreign Ministry said: "His Majesty, in keeping with his conservative image, believes a nation should be left to its own economic and social devices. The effective German socio-economic model is that the father is an acknowledged breadwinner; most women stay at home, to continue their maternal duties. This is not out of misplaced misogyny — His Majesty, in fact, has actually had known misogynists removed from his service — but out of traditional German values. He wishes to respect the popular culture of his subjects and, though liberalisation is undoubtedly occurring, this is one facet of life mainly unchanged." He goes on to say that His Majesty "is completely in opposition to further environmental regulation," and has ensured the sent delegate is as well, deeming it to be "contrary to further economic development."

This shows that, as always, His Majesty and his government are both always concerned about the well-being and opinion of their subjects. They have assured us, not through idealistic rhetoric and subliminal propaganda, but by action, that our Empire shall remain sovereign, the German Volk intact, and our society shall continue to reign supreme, our culture superior to all others. Our national opinion shall be heard in every corridor, even those deemed hostile to our base ideals.

At 07:30 on 17/02/13 the Titianician Aerospace Directorate launched project Orion's X-73 spaceplane into orbit while carrying a unknown payload which is thought to be of military standard. Even more noticeable is the engines fitted onto X-73 Orion seem to allow it to travel at "hypersonic speeds" and then turn them into rocket motors for the rest of the way.

The Orion project is rumoured to be attempting to produce long range supersonic bombers and spaceplanes for military/economic use. They're also designed to be economical as well as deadly with cost effective designs mostly inmind.

Also in the news is that the Titianician Armed Forces has been rumoured to be expanding the "Black Zone" which is the area were the TAF has permission to annihilate anyone without permission. It now composes the areas around western Mednordia and reaches the Aurelius Islands. It is predicted that the reasoning behind the move is that TAF is attempting to keep Akimondi forces out of Tyrrhenia.

Emmerians announce the 'Burns Amendment' to Castilla Doctrine; Quigley asserts Akimonad has superior military forces

PROVISA, New Belhavia — The Imperial War Ministry released a public statement announcing that the 5th Fleet, on-route home from its recently successful victory in the liberation of Anglynova, would be sailing through the region of Pardes to conduct naval exercises. When asked for further comment, a Navy spokesman elaborated that the change in itinerary for the triumphant 5th was a matter of "demonstrating Imperial force projection on a global scale...the swing through Pardes would be a slightly longer home voyage for the 5th Fleet but its activities would prove to be worthwhile."

When questioned about the abrupt change in course through a region home to the United Republic of Emmeria and other nation-states that are participatory members of the International Coalitional for Expansion, many of whom are vocal critics of the A.C.A., the spokesman replied indignantly that "the Empire does not factor in saber-rattling and weak bravado into its deployment of military power...Pardes was selected for a week or two of exercises because it is a prominent southern region."

The United Republic of Emmeria, a leader in the prominent global anti-slavery alliance International Coalition for Expansion, or I.C.E., has recently engaged in vitriolic rhetoric against the A.C.A., with U.R. Secretary Laura Basara alleging in a speech last week that the global anti-communist defensive alliance was "imperialist," "far-right," "littered with fascism," and in the midst of "collapsing." Such comments provoked a dismissive reply from Foreign Minister Lord Joseph Hansdann, who disputed such remarks as "contrived...and lacking any basis in reality." Yesterday, the U.R. State Department released the "Burns Amendment," clarifying the Castille Doctrine that "will actively oppose all oppressive or extremist political, economic, or social policies of governance across the modern political spectrum...it is essential to declare further opposition to ideals of hardline corporatism...[the United Republic] will hereby oppose all forms of hardline corporatism, fascism, communism, tyrannical absolute monarchism and autocratism."

Deputy Foreign Minister for Allied Affairs Jacen Gray, himself a key actor in categorically denouncing recent anti-ACA vitriol, was pressed by reporters as he was leaving a black-tie gala hosted at the Prussian embassy in downtown Provisa Sunday night. Told about the Burns Amendment and asked for a reply, he retorted casually that "I have no comment - this doesn't concern the Empire or the ACA." When asked again whether this was another line of attack by the Emmerians, he waved his hand indifferently and said evenly that "the anti-ACA media narrative has been thoroughly discredited...it is established fact that the ACA is a broad-spectrum alliance whose anti-communist ideology has roots and support from the moderate left straight through to the right...as the ACA is not fascist nor corporatist, this latest proclamation by Oured doesn't really pertain to [the ACA]."

In what diplomatic and international political analysts are calling "another escalation" of the informal "war of words" between the Empire and Republic and Commonwealth of Akimonad, President Quigley answered a question from the Emmerian United Press media group regarding New Belhavian military capabilities in one of his latest 'Fireside Chats' on the recently released Kalian Report on Tyrrhenian regional security, where he claimed that "I would caution them to consider their position compared to Akimonad...[w]e are capable of fielding a much greater amount of forces at any single moment--and ours are better equipped and trained." However, Quigley cautioned that "[The Empire has] [sic] not shown any inclination of threatening the Republic and Commonwealth directly in the past, however." When this was brought to the attention of the Imperial War Ministry, War Minister Jan Argan called the Provisa Times back to personally respond. He commented gruffly that "Akimonadi forces are in no way 'better equipped or trained' than Imperial forces...it is well-acknowledged that New Belhavia has one of the most advanced and technologically-enhanced militaries in the world today. It would be to the Akimonadis' benefit that we do need to...test such claims in the near future."

When asked on whether rumors flying around senior military circles in the War Ministry that the 5th Fleet's time in Pardes could be extended, Argan paused and answered vaguely that "the 5th Fleet's itinerary...is always subject to change."

Apexion, Titianicia- As of an official announcement by the Titianician Armed Forces (TAF), Titianician Fleet Zero have been ordered to enter Tyrrhenian waters. The offical reasoning behind this move is that the "TAF is trying to prevent foreign ships to enter Titianician waters" however it is more widely thought to stop both the ACA forces and ICE forces reaching Titianician waters.

The fleet is rumoured to be the Titianician home fleet with all of the remaining Dreadfire Superdreadnoughts (which have had their main guns replaced with VLSs now) and the Fuhrer class superdreadnought is also believed to be deployed.

It has also been noticed that the Titianician Air Force has been launching MP-15 patrols around the Black Zone who have already sunk around 12 believed pirate ships and 2 cruise liners from unknown origins.

It has been also been heavily rumoured of the sighting of the U-1 Nuclear Ballistic Missile submarines surfacing around the Waldenburg and Pardes regions. The U-1 is the result of the U project which designed the U-range if submarines however the U-1 is the only one capable of launching nuclear weapons in vast quantities. They are usually escorted by a constant fleet of U-2 and U-3 submarines who are specialised anti-ship and anti-air devices designed to operate on their own and when escorting other ships. Chancellor Haldstadt Will Not Seek Second Term
Presidential Candidate Field Takes Shape; Social Democratic and Democrat-Republican primaries conclude with Southwatch's

Sitting President Andrew Filie's bid for reelection just became a little more complicated as his chancellor, Amanda Haldstadt's announcement that she would not run on the Federalist ticket as Filie's running-mate for a second term, citing personal reasons, but also stating that her career in public service will not be ending. Meanwhile, the Social Democrats and Democratic-Republicans look to be set heading into their conventions, with Northport governor Danielle Andrsunn looking to be the prospective candidate for the Social Democrats and Heinrich Grimm looking to be the likely candidate for the Democratic-Republicans.

The nation's first elections since the 2009 election, which ended the period of autocracy referred to by historians as the Regency, still wait in the distance (they will occur in September), the field of candidates for President of the Allamunnic States became a little less murky with the conclusion of the primary elections for the candidates of the Popular Democratic and Democratic-Republican parties. The People's Convention, called to declare the Workers' Party's candidate, selected Senator Eric Wilson as their candidate for President.

Titianician State Authority's offensive in New Alotos

Opexion-Tyrrhenia: The Titianician State Authority has been seen advancing into NARF strongholds after the sixth of March. The Titianician Air Force has been carpet bombing areas believed to house N.A.R.F battalions and commanders across New Alotos. The weapons used were noticeably chemical gases and incendiary weapons which have killed vast sections of the Alotosian rainforests off leaving nothing but dead animals and plants rotting in the remains.

The move is believed to come from the recent series of wins in the southern parts of New Alotos against NARF who have been using foreign AKM rifles which were almost completely ineffective against the TAF's mechanised forces who managed to storm and capture the several N.A.R.F command cells who attacked a geothermal facility and the near by town.

The TAF has released a statement saying "With the majority of our forces time being spent in Titianicia now, we can mobilise vast amounts of our forces against the racist, sexist idiots that make up N.A.R.F and push them back into their ancient Ulaastani jungles, were they shall die. They are the remains of the nationial socialist regime known as the Ulaastan who ruled the democratically elected Ditorate at the time and were responsible for a majority of the mass raping and human trafficking for the early twentieth century. They were ousted by the Grand Apexionite Union lead by Ditor Orious Lazin in the year 1931 when they fleed their burning capital of Koranlator.

N.A.R.F was also responsible for the mass tactical bombings of Sector 034's argacultural facilities which forced the Titianician Senate to start the failed Afalia campaign due to the famine caused by it. Conventions held, Primaries Conclude
Presidential Field Set for September

Joining already-selected candidates Fililund Senator Eric Wilson (Workers), Isaac Muhlenkampf (Fascists), Alexander Wallace (People's Revolutionary), and Waaltur Muelburg (Libertarians) were those selected in the primaries: former Northwatch governor Heinrich Grimm (Democratic-Republicans) and Northport governor Danielle Andrsunn (Social Democrats). However, in the interest of maintaining the ruling coalition, President Andrew Filie has reached out to both Andrsunn and Grimm to merge their campaigns to stave off what look like potentially-challenging campaigns from the Moralist Coalition and the Workers Party.

The selection of Andrsunn was some of the biggest news, as she had emerged from a pack of competitors early in the primary season to slowly build a strangle-hold on the Social Democratic nomination. The potential for her to mount a strong challenge is believed to be what prompted Filie to reach out to her and Grimm. Andrsunn was previously considered a long-shot candidate, despite her strong record with helping immigrants and working poor in Northport. There is some talk that Filie may ask her to abandon her campaign to become his running mate, an attempt at preserving the current ruling coalition between the Federalists, Social Democrats, and Democratic-Republicans.

Grimm's return to politics has also been big news; the former Northwatch governor largely retreated from politics after he helped to write the 2009 Constitution and aided in the ensuing transition to democracy. His previous fall from grace was related to a scandal in which he cheated on his wife, Marie Grimm, with a journalist for the Northwatch Times. However, the voters seem to have forgiven him, and he worked up from second place in the race to take the lead over Ostrea Senator Henrik Kraag.

Grimm has also made note that in exchange for concessions in the coalition's platform, he would be willing to abandon his campaign and place his strength behind the larger Centrist campaign. That would, in effect, be a virtual guarantee of preservation of the current order: between the three parties, an estimated 74% of all active voters would be accounted for.

However, we will have to wait and see how the campaign develops. Perhaps the Centrist coalition will be dissolved for ideological reasons.

Centrist Coalition Renewed
Grimm to campaign for Filie, Andrsunn becomes running-mate

The alliance between the three centrist parties in the Allamunnic government has been renewed, bringing the Social Democrats and Democratic-Republicans back together under the aegis of the Federalists. In the process, Democratic-Republican candidate Heinrich Grimm promised to abandon his campaign for president and to campaign for sitting President Andrew Filie. The Social Democratic candidate, Danielle Andrsunn also abandoned her campaign in exchange for becoming Filie's running-mate as candidate for Chancellor.

Included in the renewal is the three party's commitments not to run against one another in districts already controlled by one of the other three, allowing them to concentrate on campaigning against other candidates in those districts to improve the chances of maintaining the coalition's power in the legislature and at the executive level.

"The renewal of this alliance provides a blue-print and a plan for continued effective governance of this great nation," Grimm said in the announcement where he suspended his campaign. "Ultimately, that is the only goal of all three parties, and though we understand some will be disappointed by this turn of events, it gives me great relief to know that our future, and next five years, at least, are secure in this regard. My campaign's focus will, henceforth, be geared towards campaigning for my friend and colleague, President Andrew Filie, in his bid for re-election. I hope that our coalition's campaign will enjoy your strong support that we've seen these last few months. Thank you for your support and energy. Thank you."

The selection of Andrsunn as Filie's running-mate pleased a large faction within the coalition, but also angered more than a few more-conservative members. Andrsunn was noted for her support of social welfare policies in her time as Governor of Northport, although among members of her party she is still noted as a fiscal conservative. Filie has pointed to strengthening the state-run component of the national healthcare system as a key of the next campaign, stating "that while healthcare ownership should never be mandatory, that it is important to improve access for those who cannot otherwise afford [health care]." Andrsunn has also been a noted proponent of what many call Filie's pet foreign policy project, the Levantian Council meant to improve coordination and overall relations between the nations of Central Levantia, a plan which looks to be nearing fruition of late.

The move was also applauded by Piekslynd Governor Milus Stroenhund (DR), the head of the Governor's Council, who said that "the move will give this nation the opportunity to grow even more than it has in the last five years."

PROVISA, New Belhavia — President and C.E.O. Michael Roth of Roth Industries announced in a press conference today that the Roth Industries-linked political action committee 'Restore Tyrrhenian Freedom' (RTF) would become actively involved in the upcoming Allamunnic elections, using lax laws in the Central Levantian nation to spend independent expenditures to support the Democratic-Republicans, a center-right and mainstream right party that is a member of the "Centrist Coalition" with the dominant and ruling centrist Federalist and center-left Social Democrats.

Roth said that "the Democratic-Republicans' policy preferences and values are in-line with the ruling Conservative Party of New Belhavia, and we would like to see more conservative public policies enacted under the sure-to-be-elected Centrist Coalition." The Roth Industries head, the eldest of the numerous Roth family and the heir to deceased Roth Industries chief Elazar Roth, continued that the Super PAC would be reserving advertising space for the next two months for $5.6 million dollars, all of which would be independent expenditures, meaning the Super PAC can not coordinate directly with D-R candidates or campaign committees. The lion-share of the ad buys are on the major cable and broadcast TV channels, with smaller purchases of print ads in the five largest Allamunnic daily newspapers. Restore Tyrrhenian Freedom is also buying almost a million dollars in direct-mail ads to be delivered in swing Assembly districts and close Senate races.

When asked whether the Imperial government had any hand in this decision, a spokesman from the Imperial Foreign Ministry emailed us back saying that "we have nothing to comment on at this time." Roger Simon, a Tyrrhenian politics commentator for New Belhavian Network News asserted that "there is no way that [the Imperial government] did not play a role in this. It is to Provisa's benefit to have an Empire-friendly government in the Allamunnic States, the hegemon of Central Levantia." Dr. George Pashen, an Allamunae expatriate turned naturalized Imperial citizen, has observed his former nation's politics from afar for decades. He has suggested that "[Democratic-Republican presidential candidate and former Northwatch governor Heinrich] Grimm has made remarks sympathetic to the ACA and their nation-states in Tyrrhenia, and so [it's] no surprise that [Roth Industries], a known supporter of Conservative causes domestically and the ACA overseas, would stand behind Grimm's party."

Sam Waterson, a retired Deputy Foreign Minister for Tyrrhenian Affairs, argued that "the Empire...needs an in [into] Central Levantia...the [Allamunnic] States and its neighbors were quite insular and isolationist...with the cooling down of Mykola-Empiratian tensions and an opening up of Allamunnae ties to the outside world, the [officials] in Provisa want some friendly partners in the upcoming government. Since the government can't directly interfere - it would be too outrageous, frankly - it has opted for its friends in private business to influence its potential allies in the new Allamunnae government."

The RTF advertising buys amount to $956,788 for direct-mail pieces, $435,233 for major one-page print ads, $207,901 on radio ads, and $4,000,078 on cable and broadcast TV spots.

Foreign Minister Bismarck, when told that the Emmerian military was on high alert

A press conference was held this morning, designed to satiate the media's desire for more information regarding the German government's reaction to continued threats by the United Republic of Emmeria. Attended by the Foreign Minister, Paul von Bismarck, as well as several other important members of the Defence and Foreign Ministries, the large conference room was designated 'standing room only,' with over three hundred privileged civilians, reporters, journalists, and newscasters present.

Emmeria, soon after a communiqué was sent by the German government to its allies in Preslaff, put out a propaganda article condemning the peaceful naval exercises being conducted by the ACA in the region of Pardes. The article quoted the Emmerian National Security Advisor, Jason Caldwell, as saying that "this is their [the ACA's] most outrageous move yet — it's outright ridiculously provocative. They've got no concern for regional stability — they need to stop playing with fire before they get burned," during an emergency press conference.

Minister Bismarck, when confronted with this statement, shrugged it off. "We are used to such vitriol from the Quigley cabal," he said, using the term that has come to encompass all governmental officials of Akimonad, Emmeria, and their blind followers. "Their own 'bellicose rhetoric' has blinded them to a very simple truth: our designs — the ACA's — are entirely peaceful, and aim for a world free of the Red Horde. Their designs are war, destruction, and political subjugation — subjugation of not only socialism, but Fascism, authoritarianism, and the ideology of any nation they do not like."

The article, though acknowledging the exercises would likely be held in international waters, went on to say that the Emmerian military was being mobilised. "The Navy is on high alert, the Air Force is on high alert, the National Guard, everyone," said the U.R. Defense Secretary Aiden Lawson. This news actually brought a smile to Bismarck's face. "I am pleased they find our combined militaries such a massive threat," said Bismarck, bringing chuckles from the crowd. "They claim we are weak, splintering, yet when we conduct peaceful exercises in foreign waters, they cringe and bring out the big guns. This is great."

Deputy Minister of Defense, Hermann von Glucksburg, also spoke of possible military conflict between the United Republic and the Empire. "The Emmerian military is undeniably large," he said, leaning on the podium with both hands. "But the German military is large as well, and renowned throughout Tyrrhenia for its professionalism and discipline. The Ministry of Defence is entirely confident that, if a war with Emmeria occurred, the Empire would emerge victorious, even without the help of its allies."

But he did not express any desire for this war to happen. "His Majesty has expressed his wishes the Ministry: this is not the time for war. The Anti-Communism Alliance will continue with its regular exercises, but no attempt to provoke the United Republic or any other nation into armed conflict will be tolerated."

The United Press article continually accused the ACA of aggression, and a fervent desire for war — Bismarck hastily dispelled this theory. "The German Empire is known for its military prowess; however, we have no desire to disrupt peace in any place we find it. These speculations made by Emmeria and its allies are completely unfounded."

Naval Exercises Announced

Gratenburg, Elcric Kcalb - The governments of the German Empire, New Belhavia, and Elcric Kcalb recently announced the launching of a joint naval exercise throughout Tyrrhenia. The announcement first came from the Kcalbite Department of Political Affairs and has since been confirmed by the Kcalbite Department of Military Affairs and the foreign ministries of New Belhavia and the German Empire.

An excerpt from the official announcement follows.

"The Corporatocracy of Elcric Kcalb will be conducting naval exercises in Tyrrhenia alongside its allies, New Belhavia and the German Empire, later this month. The participating vessels will first converge in New Belhavia before setting off, at which point they will proceed through the narrow sea separating Levantia from Waldenburg. From there, the fleet will circle around Mednordia and return to their previous stations."

"This exercise is expected to strengthen the bonds between the nations of Elcric Kcalb, New Belhavia, and the German Empire. We would also like to further ensure Tyrrhenian regional security and stability."

In a follow up announcement, the Department of Military Affairs stated that the Nethuns Corporation was the PMC selected to represent Elcric Kcalb's navy during the exercises.

"Nethuns has an excellent track record for naval exercises," reported the Department of Military Affairs, "and are certainly the most well-suited to represent the Corporatocracy alongside its noble allies."

BERLIN, German Empire — It was recently announced by the German, Belhavian, and Kcalbian governments, that joint naval exercises would be executed in order to "ensure the freedom and security of Tyrrhenian seas," according to the press release by the Imperial Foreign Ministry. The document, which was released in conjunction with those of Elcric Kcalb and New Belhavia, detailed a simple route through which the vessels would be travelling. The short release reads:

"The German Empire, in conjunction with its allies, the Corporatocracy of Elcric Kcalb and the Constitutional Monarchy of New Belhavia, will be conducting naval exercises in international Tyrrhenian waters later this month. The participating vessels will converge at a predetermined point in New Belhavian waters, before proceeding north of Waldenburg and traversing the strait separating the Levantian and Waldenurgian continent; after this, they will circle Mednordia and return to their respective bases.

"This exercise is expected to strengthen the bonds between the nations of Elcric Kcalb, New Belhavia, and the German Empire, and to further ensure the safety and stability of Tyrrhenia as a region."

Information regarding the amount, classes, and current location of those German vessels participating has not been released by the government.
