The map is from the Pardes (my region) map.

I cut my nation out of an image of the Pardes map, colored it green (Wiki-style), and vectorized it so I could enlarge the image losslessly.

If you need info on how to make the map itself, I'd contact someone who makes them specifically. Not exactly sure who drew up the Pardes map, although Belfras is the current individual who maintains it.

My region has a map but that zoomed wiki style is what I'm looking for.

That's right, you're in GD.

All you have to do is cut out the map of your country and color it green/gray/etc. and vectorize it (I used vectormagic.com), and then save it from that site and render the file as a png in the size you want.

So, uh, does anyone want to make a NACO article somewhere so we can leave all of the info and standardization we've agreed upon somewhere?

Somebody needs to do that. I'm a tad busy, but I'll see what I can do.

Your calibers, good sir, as they currently stand:

6.35x43mm NACO
7x42mm (.280) NACO
10x22mm NACO

125mm NACO

Obv. this list is incomplete as fuck.

10x22mm NACO.

Triggthudia (or whatever, fuck you and the spelling you rode in on, aqiz) originally bought 8x25mm Cordian pistols. People bitched about the recoil. So, they cut off the bottleneck and just jammed a full-caliber bullet in it, and the 10mm Wesi was born. Eventually adopted by NACO because the 8mm Cordian and 10mm AC cartridges had too much recoil, and the .45 ACP didn't give enough capacity.

It was originally supposed to be 120 mm NACO but then I commented that my existing tank design already used 125 mm for GLATGMs and after Corda increased the diameter of his ATGMs and switched to 125 mm, it seems to have become the de facto standard.

It's shorter, but thicker, with a longer bullet. That generates higher peak pressures, and improved velocity and short-barrel performance. Hence why the 7x43mm .280 British can outperform the 7.62x51mm NATO.

I've been working off x45. x43 won't really much up much of the ballistics data.

There's also the 7x22mm, a necked down version of the 10x22mm Wesi, developed around GW1 for light carbines, the 30x210mm, the 40x210mm and, possibly, the 35x5Xmm Cordian grenade.

I'd imagine that, mortar wise, a 51mm mortar based on the NACO modular "COW" charges could replace 60mm mortars, and that the 81mm and 120mm mortars would continue as normal, along with 105mm and 155mm artillery. Either 13mm CMG or .50 BMG with be the standard HMG round, and the 20x102mm would probably be the standard 20mm cannon round.

I was always under the impression that .280B was more of an intermediate round rather than a full-power round.

We also have to take into account that at the time these rounds were adopted, short-barrel rifles weren't exactly popular.

It was intended to be, but in their tea-soaked stupor the Brits managed to create an intermediate that outperformed the US's silly .30 caliber rounds.

See Aqiz's correction.

I don't think 7x22mm would ever become NACO standard until a while after the Cordians started fitting it for saboted dart projectiles a la CBJ in mid-2013, as a response to body armor.

Carthage's most common cannon caliber until the 2010s is the 25x137 mm, used for most autocannon roles (e.g. IFVs, aircraft). The new IFV series and attack helicopters use a 35x340 mm autocannon (the helicopter model is recoilless), while fighters and light vehicles still use 25 mm. I have no problem establishing 20x102 mm as the 20 mm standard, I just don't know of any vehicles at the moment that use it.

That aside, I've not done anything with my mortars yet aside from specifying that the heavy mortar size would be 120 mm, so I can roll with whatever we pick. The HMG caliber is also fine at least until the 2010s when 15.5 mm starts being trialled.

Anyone still interested?

Maybe.

I don't think 7x22mm would ever become NACO standard until a while after the Cordians started fitting it for saboted dart projectiles a la CBJ in mid-2013, as a response to body armor.

Perhaps not NACO standard, but there for NACO nations to use if they choose to?

And did you ever work out the stats for your 35mm grenade?

Somebody needs to do that. I'm a tad busy, but I'll see what I can do.

Your calibers, good sir, as they currently stand:

6.35x43mm NACO
7x42mm (.280) NACO
10x22mm NACO

125mm NACO

Obv. this list is incomplete as fuck.

125mm? What? D:<
And is there a decent light tank that could be used like the M41 or the Sheridan with a 105mm cannon?
