Revolution time! Adventure!

Postby Kleomentia » Wed Jan 30, 2013 1:44 pm

So, NSG, the question is simple. How would you react if a armed revolution against the government of your current living place happened? Would you temporarily leave, move somewhere else, stay neutral or join the revolution?

Personally, if a revolution took place in Serbia at my current age i probably wouldn't get involved. I might move to my holiday get away in southern Serbia to get away from possible conflicts in Belgrade. If i was in my 20s or 30s i would probably be leading the revolution

I'd be wondering how the fuck Quebec got so many violent separatists. Because that's the only way I can imagine a revolution going on here.

It totally depends on who the revolutionaries are.
The fascists considered themselves revolutionaries, but good chances are I'd fight against them to protect the current government.

I'd take the chance to write a book about it, like George Orwell.

If I could I would leave but I probably couldn't
Also,it really depends what kind of revolution. I mean in Romania we have a revolution every few months (planned ) but they never get past the swearing at the government in secret part

Dependent on the revolutionaries involved. Either way, I would be fighting or at least assisting in some part of a movement but for what side depends on the revolution's nature.

Anyway for the Op, it depends on who the ones enacting the revolution is, what their goals are and how they would go about them, and whether or not the current government pissed me off enough to do something.

No, that's his secret way of hinting his government is facing an insurrection.

It did, kind of. Well, a protracted attempted 'revolution' roughly between 1969 and 1994.

I don't support the aims of the groups in question now, so I wouldn't have supported them then. And I don't support using their methods either.

Honestly, "if there was an armed revolution would you support it" is such a stupid question on its own. By whom? For what purpose? What are the circumstances?
