F1-Insanity Mulcaheys reach BoI championship game!
Acadianne 6-16 F1-Insanity
A hard fought 16-6 victory over the Acadianne Huguenots saw the Mulcaheys reach the championship game of the Baptism of Iron. In the first and second quarters of the rematch (F1M defeated Acadianne also in the group stage) both teams exchanged field goals, and in the third the Mulcaheys took the lead via another field goal, leaving the score at 9-6 at the start of the fourth quarter. And finally, after 3.5 quarters of misfiring our quarterback Damon Mable finally managed to connect with Archie Mazzucco for a touchdown which increased our advantage to 16-6. Our defense closed out the game as according to plan.
Now we head to the championship game where we will play Bavin again. We lost the opener in our group to Bavin 21-10 so it will be the hardest game of all, but we will be out to beat them.
Head coach Massey commented: "The group we played in with Acadianne and Bavin was clearly the strongest of all, proven by the fact that two from our group are still standing at the start of the championship game, at the end we hope to be the last one. Bavin will be the toughest opponent we've had, we lost to them in the group stage and we must improve if to have a chance of victory in our international debut tournament. It will surely be a great game."
