So in a follow-up to the 300 BC RP, I'm creating the next instalment: an RP starting the same year as the Crusades. At the request of certain players, there are now more pagans, specifically up north, in England, Norway, Sweden etc. This allows more epic Crusades.

RULES (Please read):
1. Teh obvious no godmodding, trolling, flaming etc.
2. You can start out with any number of provinces between 1 and 20. If you attack NPC lands (not controlled by a human), you will have to make a post detailing Your gains, your losses, the enemy losses, etc. If it's unrealistic, I'll ask you to change it.
3. For the most part, we'll be sticking to RL religions. As I said above, to balance things out a bit, there will be more Pagans especially in Northern Europe. But besides that, if you want to invent a slightly varying sect of Christianity/Islam or a custom pagan faith, fine, but for the most part, RL it is.
4. Time goes by as follows: 1 week=1 year, ergo 1 day=approximately 7 weeks and 3 days. just call it at almost 2 months, the math doesn't have to be exact. Some people were complaining about this last time, but others made the point that a conference shouldn't drag on a decade as the rest of the world moves on in a comparative blitzkrieg.
5. DON'T use RL nations. Please, I beg you. I'll eat you if you do.
6. Thou shalt have even more fun than last time you drank egg nog.

Religion: Carrolydian Christianity, differing from mainstream Catholicism in that heretics are tolerated, the populace can read the bible, and the bread and wine are considered symbolic, though the Carrolydian Church is still subject to Rome and the Pope

Military Speciality: versatile archers, crossbowmen, and superior naval and ballistic weaponry
Military Weakness: Heavy Cavalry still very rare due to lack of true feudalism
Unique Units (Maximum 3): Carrolydian Ballista, taken from the Lydian Ballistas of old, it is far more powerful and has much longer range than a regular ballista, as well as being more mobile.
Ballistic Dragonship, Like the Ballista Ships taken from the Lydians, their ancestors, these fortresses in the waves are equipped bow to stern with not only ballistas but archer posts, crossbows, and simple mechanisms allowing the soldiers to shoot several arrows at once. Needless to say, shields long the sides like plating to protect the mighty ship.
King's Guard Crossbowmen, trained and armoured thoroughly and having great reloading time, accuracy and stamina, as well as finely carved shortswords, the proper usage of which has been deeply taught to them, these men are truly the best Carrolydia has to offer.
Brief History since 298 BC (ONLY required for the 300 BC RP Veterans): After the Paphahassinians captured Egypt, Lydian trade was slightly crippled by the mere strength of their allies. this increased as trade routes were closed off. The fur trade in Jutland, however, remained, but it was barely enough to maintain the army. In 198 BC, during the reign of Lord Protector Cleon VI, the Paphahassinians invaded what remained of the crippled Lydian Republic. Cleon, putting all his eggs quite literally in one basket, told his people to pack up the essentials and leave on ships to the still standing Danish colonies. Only about 15% followed his command, and became known as the Carrolydians, Carrolin meaning Refugee in old Lydian. Those who stayed were known as the Ostallydians, Osta meaning Slave. Cleon built a strong realm in Southern Jutland, and after his death, his eldest son, Cleon VII, was crowned king Cleon I of Carrolydia. Over the ages, the Kingdom expanded and the people mingled with the native Danes, creating a strong, hybrid race. Christianity first appearing around 890, and in 1023, King Mithradates XI signed a pact in which all non-Christians in Carrolydia were allowed to practice their religion, in return for the baptising of the King. Since then, most Carrolydians have joined Christianity, and are eager to see their nation take arms in the name of the holy ghost.

Brief History since 298 BC (ONLY required for the 300 BC RP Veterans): Since the fall of Aquilla in 650 AD, most fled to escape being turned to Christianity. A majority went to Sweden and sought refuge with the Vikings, the Aquillians gave the Vikings technology such as armoring their boats and giving them siege technology. The Varangians then had the strength to continue their quest to unite Norway, Sweden, and the Baltic under viking rulership.

Religion: Church of Normandia (Catholic).

Info on the Church of Normandia- After William the Conqueror launched the Norman Invasion of England, a great rift between the Normans and the Catholic Church soon raised. The rift between King William the Conqueror and the Pope existed for the Pope's lack of conviction and faith to assist the King in freeing the British Isles from Pagan Rule. Displeased and disgusted the Norman people demanded that a New Church be form. Resulting in the creation of the Church Of Normandia in the year of 1069, the Norman Church has stood for 27 years.

The Church still holds to most Catholic doctrines, except the King of Normandia is seen as the head of the Church. The Church appoints Priest and Bishops to run the religious affairs of the Kingdom. The Pope is seen as the Leader of the Catholic Faith outside of Normandia but inside the Kingdom the King is seen as the Leader of the Catholic Faith. The Normans still see themselves as devout Catholics, but the corruption and incompetence of the Papal States has destroyed the Pope credibility with the Norman People.

Military Specialty: Professional Army, excellent heavy cavalry, and with large navy at their command.

Military Weakness: Heavy Calvary is only available to the Nobility and Wealthy. Code of Honor frowns upon giving up or retreating in battle, preferring to die by the sword or on the sword, even in the worst situations, Normans will prefer the total destruction of the army instead of fleeing to fight another day.

Unique Units (Maximum 3):

Norman Heavy Knights Calvary- A Norman knight that is heavily armored and rides a powerful steed into battle, considered deadly on the battlefield, for their ability to smash through enemy formations. Wielding lances and shield's their tactic is to break up enemy formations and then use their swords to cut the enemy down.

English Long-bowmen- Trained in the the use of the bow from a young age, these men are perfect shots with the bow. The Normans realized how deadly English bowmen were when they first invaded England in the Norman Conquest. Causing the Normans to make attachments of English bowmen apart of of the Norman Army. Long range and excellent marksmanship, have earned the English Long-bowmen a deadly reputation in battle.

Norman Battle Priest - Not the average priest of the cloth but more the priest of the sword, these men of God serve the lord on the field of battle. Carrying a Cross into Battle, these men chant and pray to lift morale before the battle begins, during battle these men will fight alongside the soldiers, with a frenzy religious fever. They clutch a large cross in their left hand as they wield a blade in their right.

Kingdoms History: The Duke of Normandy, William the Conqueror launched the invasion of England in 1066. Managing to conquer apart of England, he was able to claim the Kingship of England. The result of King William falling ill in 1070 with a unknown disease greatly limited the Normans ability to expand their Kingdom in England, while they failed to expand the Kingdom, they achieved a great amount of stability and was able to consolidate their position in England.

The King struggled to live fighting a unknown disease but he still managed to prepare the Norman Army and his son's to begin the task of conquering England. The Norman Kingdom continued to grow and then the strong willed King William in 1080, finally lost the war against the disease. After his death the Kingdom was inherited by his son William and his son Robert received Normandy, but discord existed between the two brothers in a form of a great rivalry.

For 8 years the two brother's competed against each other in every form of competition that was possible from horsemanship, archery, leadership skills, and so much more. The brothers even fought each other in small battles that conflicts over small unimportant events. Finally in 1088 with fear rising from the Norman Nobles that war between the two brothers would erupt into a full civil war, the two brothers were deposed from power. For a year the Norman Nobles attempted to rule the Kingdom but the bickering of noblemen prevented this from occurring as Richard the third son of King William the Conqueror rose to popularity among the Norman people. (I'm making Richard the youngest son of William the Conquering instead of being the second and he didn't die at a young age in this alternate history).

For the past 10 years King Richard has successfully ruled his Kingdom and has increased the Kingdom's power in England. The King currently is openly preparing for the Conquest of the rest of England and then the Conquest of the British Isles. The King states that he is rightfully and by the divine will of God to be the King of the British Isles, King of England, and Duke of Normandy.

The Autocracy's main guard for the Kauqe Assembly and the Autocrat himself. It numbers at 7,500 men, as it is commonly used for special missions for the Autocracy.
Untzi Komandoen:
The large and powerful naval force of the Kauqe. The specific ship that is used is the Crusader-Klasea fragata, a medium ship built with slits in the sides of the hull to act as an archer's opening. On deck are moutned ballistae, which are usually coated in oils for preparation to light them. It is more narrow than most ships, but isn't neccesarily a large ship.
Errege Militante Muhammad Agindua, Jihad bastioia, eta Gibraltarian
The western European Islamic military order based in Granada, where its members, consisting of 20,000 men, act for the principles of Muhammad, Jihad, and the Imams of Gibraltar. It is related closely to Sari Autocrat Inperialeko Guardia, but is under its own control and uses much of Kauqe's industry to power its demands for the Muslims in the Mediterranean.

Religion: The nation is primarily Zoroastrian, with some Muslim and Christian influences.
Government Type: Oligarchical Bureaucracy with democratic aspects (see history).
Population: ~1,100,000
Army size (should never exceed 10% of population during peacetime): 88,000
Military Speciality: Archery is a skill that everyone knows, as such their archers, especially their Cavalry Archers, are masters (Mongol level). They have a strong and quite large naval force at their disposal.
Military Weakness: Heavy Armor is not common, with only certain brigades having it for protection of key individuals.
Unique Units (Maximum 3): Sarsashan: Literally king of the horse, they are in all likelihood the finest cavalry archers in the world. The Immortals: Descendants of the original from the empire (Paphahassinia) who are experts with most weapons. They carry two or three weapons at all times. (Only ever 8,000 at any point). Hemiqua: A super fast ships with three masts and lateen sails. It is easily maneuverable, can hold a larger than average crew, and is excellent at chasing down other ships. For years its predecessor ruled the eastern Med and now it will take its place.

Brief History since 298 BC (ONLY required for the 300 BC RP Veterans): After Paphahassinian Empire conquered Egypt, things went on a rapid rise, as the newly acquired Nile Delta, with its amazingly fertile land, allowed for not only massive population growth, but for immigration to the famed land. Soon thousands of people moved to one of the great civilizations of the old world, expanding trade not only between the newly conquered land and the home ground at Mesopotamia, but also into Africa. Most importantly, however, was the expansion in naval based knowledge, which would prove instrumental latter on. After the conquest of Egypt, the armies of the Shah, set about solidifying their control over the region, as well as manipulating trade and prices to cripple their supposed friends, the Lydians. Of course in actuality, the empire was after the lands in western Anatolia, far more than it was an ally. Eventually, Lydia found itself growing weaker, while the empire continued to expand.

The next great conquest of the most mighty empire of the east was the Anatolian expansion, which pushed Paphahassinian influence all the way to the Black sea. From there, the empire took a pause in its conquests, lasting several years. During this time, it built roads across the deserts, and led to the rise of new towns. They replenished the armies ranks and even constructed a vast navy to control the seas. By the time they were ready to begin the war march again, they were easily one of the most powerful nations around. They took an army of 30,000 and pushed all the way south, decimating entire nations, until they reached Arabia, at which point they moved to the Red Sea, and began their domination of its trade. With their southern borders secure, they began preparing for the push into Libya. After another year of preparation and minute expansion in Anatolia, an army of 24,000 pushed from Egypt. They marched across the harsh deserts, crushing the nomadic tribes and small towns, enveloping them into their nation, however, the conquest was stopped short. The Shah had died.

A travesty to the empire, a massive pain that sounded throughout the nation, for the Great Shah, now known as the Magnificent One, was gone. He had lead them to their golden age, to create a great empire, not the stuff of their ancestors, but a massive construct none the less. The nation mourned for several months, during which time his son, Shah Metra Aechinxerses was crowned. He began a policy of success and domination through trade and culture, which would last for near a hundred years. They expanded the trade routes and massive road network of the nation even further, and began the construction of numerous wonders and cities. By the time he died, the Empire was covered in great new cities, wealthy and powerful merchants, and outstandingly educated and cultured people, and had several knew great wonders. The most famous of which was The Golden Point, a massive structure outside of Shassimi, the capitol, that housed 1 tens of thousands of plants, several lakes worth of water, and buildings that could fit towns in them. The nation was the wealthiest on the planet.

The next Shah to take up the throne was Metra Aechnixerses II, who would continue his fathers policy for the first decade of his rule. However, after that 10 year period, he took up the bow again. By this time, Lydia, a nation once so strong, was collapsing. It was the perfect time to take Anatolia for the Empire, and so he did. Over 50,000 soldiers marched on the nation, and while many escaped, most remained, and through them, Anatolia was secured forever. For the next 12 years, the story would be rather boring, with Anatolia being secured and the Eastern Mediterranean becoming the domain of the empires navy. However, before the Shah died from illness, he led his people on a final conquest into Libya, securing Paphahassinian control there. All of Eastern Libya was there's. After his death, the empire then set its eyes on its home, or Iran. However, it would take almost tow centuries until Shah Rahemin Aechinixerses VIII would take it.

He led an army into Iran, defeating all those who opposed him. He pushed into Tehran, smashed those who opposed him, and restored the old ways to its peoples. He then continued his march until he reached the Indus River Valley, at which time he forced several Raj's to surrender their lands or be destroyed. It was from then a true golden age to last centuries, and Rahemin became known as the Golden Shah. He would not lead any more conquests, but he did establish a new political system. He moved the capitol to Tehran and spent more gold than can be counted turning it into the greatest city to ever exist. He then made his 3 youngest songs the Sub-Shahs of parts of the empire. One for Anatolia, one for Mesopotamia, and one for Africa. The empire would remain fairly stable, with few wars, save for some conflicts in the Balkans. They defeated their enemies, but did not hold the land forever, and let it go after several decades. The empire still had centuries to go until it fell.

However, it soon would fall, and not pleasantly. The main issue was that the capitol of the nation, the Shah, were all in Iran, the old homeland, and while this was the empires dream, it distanced them from the rest of the nation. Soon this led to problems, particularly in the north. The Mesopotamian Sub-Shah at the time had gotten involved in a war with a powerful Russian nation, after the annexation of Armenia so long ago. The two fought for near 30 years, and while the empire won, it was costly. The region tried to tax its citizens, but after so long with a low tax rate, this became difficult. As such, rather than try and keep order, the Sub-Shah took land from his brother in Anatolia at the coast, to pay for it. The Anatolian Sub-Shah requested help from the Shah, but he expressed little concern, and the African Sub-Shah was fighting an influx of aggressive Muslim invaders. As such the two Sub-Shahs fought, resulting in a massive civil war, taking hundreds of thousands of lives. The two regions were ravaged, and the south was becoming Islamic in nature, and different from the empire. The Shah saw this all as too much, and so he broke his own empire and became a new nation, leaving his children to fend for themselves.

In the South, the nation eventually, after much war, became Islamic, with only the elite staying true to the faith or Zoroastrianism, while in Mesopotamia the people split into numerous factions, with only the old heartlands staying together, if loosely. In Anatolia, the civil war went on, with eventually several factions coming out on top. These factions would continue to war for several years until they eventually stopped. By then their influence was broken and they gradually, like the rest of the empire, save Iran, declined. Now there is a new Shah, Cembrayses I, leader of the Shahsamiq dynasty, who has new ambitions. His lands have long since recovered from the old war, and ave repaired the old roads. They are wealthy from trade, and powerful at sea. There armies are without match and dwarf most. The Great Shah has a new thought. He sees the south as impure, to far gone to be salvaged, though he views Mesopotamia as misguided. He wished to found a northern empire, stretching from Greece, all the way to Iran, where he will claim his crown, as Shah of a new Empire, to become even greater than the last.

Military Speciality: The Prussians are excellent horsemen, and very good in close combat.
Military Weakness: Navy is almost non-existent. Trade vessels can be commandeered, but these are not very effective.
Unique Units (Maximum 3):

Royal Cavalry: Heavy cavalry that use lances, effective in a charge, breaking up enemy formations, and then pull out their short swords and shields to engage in melee. A wedge formation is used in the charge. Very heavily armoured, these strong soldiers are considered to be the pride of the United Prussian army.

Generally, it's a Frisia that survived the Frankish conquests and has gone to attain some more land for itself. Back in the BC era, it was conquered by the Romans but never really settled/colonized, they just paid tribute to Rome. They're related to the Angles and other Germans, and do not cause much of a ruckus in their region. They don't 'rock the boat', and do as the Vatican commands.

Brief History since 298 BC (ONLY required for the 300 BC RP Veterans): With advanced technology ahead of it's time such as government maintained roads and aqueducts, the Imperium adopted an Semi - Federal type of government, and used it's advanced military to conquer much of and unite Germania.

However it's leaders were too proud and ignorant, and the Imperium proved too large to control by it's rather centralized government, and began to collapse, stagnating further scientific progress, and it's magifcent cities falling into disrepair.

Reduced to similar borders as 298 B.C, the Imperium reformed itself, and restablished an firm, strong control over it's territory, scientific progress begining anew once again, with roads being paved, house refurnished and the old aqueducts being rebuilt. The Frankfurt Imperial Council buzzes with activity once again.

However instead of easily defeated ruralistic barbarians like their ancestors faced hundreds of years ago, they find themselves besieged on all sides by many newer nations. Only time will tell if the Imperium can once again reunite Germania, or be doomed to be flooded away by new, vibrant nations and be simply another advanced predecessor nation recorded in the annals of history.

Mubarizun was the special unit of the Rashidun army. It was composed of the elite warriors, who were the champion swordsmen, lancers and archers.
