Galactic Empires (IC)

Postby Photana » Sat Sep 22, 2012 7:23 pm

The Year is 2611. Humanity has spread out into the stars, away from a dead Earth. Humans have met many other intelligent species, and Humanity itself diversified. On each colony, the Humans on it modified themselves to fit the environment. Terraforming has also come into use, and made most planets habitable. In the Human diaspora, the Humans made themselves into a strong space empire, though they have made many enemies in their grab for planets, and if these enemies were to band together, the Human domination of the Galaxy. The Humans are not united either, having little to nothing to do with each other, and having little history, besides the common ancestor. This is the state of the Galaxy in 2611, a divided place, filled with strife, mistrust, and rampant piracy, will this change? Could a leader united a Galaxy, and more importantly, would has empire stay together?

The Tigrerrion Imperial Republic was preparing for its annual Gladitorial Tournament to decide the new general of the Imperial Military. This was generally a good time for private meetings of the Imperial Republic Council, as all news stations and newspapers were covering the tournament.

"We have three planets under our domain." Emperor Tigre commented.
"Yes, but we could easily overpower the rest of this system, and take on the next. We MUST expand if we are going to thrive!" Councilman Tiggere commented.
"Exactly." Councilwoman Regit added.
"So you think we should just switch all of our funds from our research on how to keep our star alive for all time to a simple expansion project?" Councilman Voltren asked, baffled.
"If our population continues to increase like this, then it won't matter if that ball of gas is burning or not!" Tiggere yelled.
"He isn't wrong, Voltren." Tigre mused.

The debate continued for another three hours, but eventually, the expansion project was decided on. They would soon take on and conquer the rest of this primitive system, then move on to the next, more advanced system of planets.

"By the Emperor, no!!" hissed Shiplord Straha of the 206th Emperor Yower. "I'd never do such a thing! Kirel is lying." He was currently being bannished on the accountings of planning mutinies against the Race, as witnessed and recorded by Shiplord Kirel of the 127th Emperor Hetto.
"Save your pettiness, Straha," said Fleetlord Atvar. "You are hereby relieved of Shiplord and from joining the ranks. Also, directly from the Emperor himself, you are exiled from any territory currently occupied by the Race, never to return. If you do step foot on any of the 4 planets, you will sentenced to death." Atvar looked at Straha as the shiplord's body paint disappeared. "Now get him on a one-way pod headed toward Tosev 3 along with this recorded message." He handed one of the officers a tape. "If the Tosevs manage to find the pod with Straha and somehow blame us for the death of their planet, this will explain." Then Atvar headed back to the command room.
Defense condition of ETCIII

DEFCON 4: Strengthened security measures
DEFCON 3: Increase in force readiness above than required for normal readiness
DEFCON 2: Further increase in force readiness, but less than maximum readiness
DEFCON 1: War is imminent.
DEFCON 0: Nuclear War.

" Berlin, " Destuchland.

" Mein Führer? " the foreign minister, Joachim Klein asked, before stepping into the Führer's office, clutching several documents tightly.

" Ja, Herr Klein? Sit, I trust you have the report of the Tigerrions? " The Führer spoke, his armchair's back facing Klein.

" Indeed, as you know they are a war like, barbarian peoples in a system close to our's. "

" Pathetic untermenschen. " The Fuhrer shook his head. Long ago, the people of the GGR were gentically modifed to be slightly more resilant and fertile, so to speak - then regular humans. Still, no doubt the Tigerrions still surpassed their physical strength considerably.

" I shall establish communications with them, just incase. " With an roman salute and an click of his heels, Klein left, leaving the Fuhrer alone to ponder courses of action....

GGR begins to escort their ships from the RK because of an recent surge of pirate activity. Public transportion is improved and corp gene splicing also continue on the GGR's farm bio domes.

Nova Terra, Capital of the UIP

The Imperial Palace

Image

They say that that Galaxy is a cold and harsh bitch, one whom breeds the strong and devour the weak like a terran wolf does with the sickly of the pack. The other worlds have always feared and respected the strong, those who dragged themselves out of the dead rotting corpses of the fallen and have put themselves up as victors.

The United Imperial Planets is like this, they are wolves among the jackals. The other galactic civilizations know of the power and unforgiving nature that comes with the UIP and they should be rightly fearful when they wish to wage war with them. The last people who did were said to have their world burn to ashes and their skulls grafted into the power armor of the victorious soldiers of the UIP.

This of course made Emperor Marcus chuckle, as he has heard of what the other peoples think of him and his Empire. Emperor Marcus was a older man, grey hair tied into a short pony tail with a beard of grey hair. His eyes like a alpha wolf, strong and ready to command at any moment. His body, even if he was aging he was at the peak of what a man of 60 years could push. This gave joy to the old warrior, sitting on his throne in the throne room as his aids go about their own business. His mind turns back to what is going on now, a grin comes to his stone like face as he turns to the screen near by. He had given a speech to his governors on how he wishes to finish off his last five years of being emperor. He had decided to colonize the two planets near by and get it done in three years by any means necessary.

When he was a younger man and as a Governor, he has pushed his plans to do this to the other governors and the Emperor before. They had voted no on the plan at the time for different reasons but now since he has been Emperor, he wishes to finish his greatest work yet.

As he ponders on this, one of his aids comes to him and bows. He looks to the young man and motions for him to come before him.

"Speak to me, what do you have for your Emperor?" said Emperor Marcus, he had a deep and commanding voice like that of thunder yet when he needed to he could soft and calm as the rain. The aid nodded and give the Emperor a datapad, one with the markings of the Tigrerrion Imperial Republic on it's back. This was the datapad he had been waiting for, one where he could get the ruling body of the Tigerrrions to speak with his diplomats.

He takes the datapad and reads it, sliently he plans things as he has always done....for the good of the Empire.

Welcome back, Archos.

Ah. Another .25 of a cycle and I am still operating. It is good to see I am still alive. Now, what shall I authorize first..
Archos had a choice. He could approve that resources be allocated to expansion, or exploration, and he chose the latter, feeling that the other races would come in handy. Radio telescopes found sginals from a group of humans calling themselves Germany. A strange name, as the Robs have no records of a place called Germany. But scouts would be sent in their general direction. A few resources are sent to expand.

Workers are sent to an uncolonized planet in the system., to prepare it for mining, hydrogen extraction, and heavy industry.

First, Kurloss's eyes were blasted with the strong broadband colors of the wakeup light, then they adjusted and normalized the colors, so that slight variations became eminent. His compound eyes were confused for a moment while his brain tried to organize all the images, and eventually he was capable of seeing across all spectrums, excepting radio and gamma. He had been genetically engineered to do that, it was crucial for his job; but the specialty eyes made waking up difficult.

The wakeup light turned off when his PC realized he was awake, and a pleasant voice said, "Good morning, Kurloss. How are you today?" Kurloss responded "Tired." He rubbed his eyes, forcing himself awake. Kurloss had not slept well that night. His PC responded, "Oh, that's terrible. You should try to catch a nap today." A hatch opened in the corner of the spacious room, dumping out some wood. Kurloss stood up and walked over to eat it. After eating, Kurloss moved onto his daily cleaning. He stepped into a a slight dip in the floor that had a drain on the bottom. A slight blast of some exhaust from a nitrogen-0 factory, cleaning him right up. The gasses pooled into the drain and disappeared. Kurloss walked outthe door and into the transit tunnels.

Trams zoomed past and buffeted Kurloss with wind. He turned on his transit card to his workplace, and the computers tried to work him into their schedule. In a minute or two, a tram stopped right next to him and zoomed him off to work.

Kurloss worked at a massive titanium purification plant. That meant he was around 9 kilometers below the surface, where it would be stifling hot if not for the air conditioning. He worked specifically on platform B, node 4. He was in control of a 200,000 ton machine, which heated titanium to fantastic temperatures and let the gasses settle out. Kurloss worked his shift fairly uneventfully, seeing that the computer already knew what to do. Just like 80% of the Eoshkul population, he was a systems manager that was there to fix the computer if it faltered. The other 20% generally worked in making or updating the systems. A very very small minority fixed the base service bots if they broke.

10 kilometers above Kurloss's position, enormous energy cannons that had stood for years constantly kept watch of the skies, their 100-meter barrels ready to utterly plasmize any invading force to serve the purpose. Still higher, The gas catchers floated around, filtering the atmosphere into useful and non-useful chemicals. Yet higher, outside the atmosphere, a huge half-completed shell orbited Nyazrank. The entire planet was focused on the building and launching the 1000-kilometer monstrosity. Little ships, completely dwarfed by its size, were constantly swarming around it and assembling it.

All to serve the purpose.
it is my firm belief that I should never have to justify my beliefs.

The Daybreaker

Thorne strode around the asteroid base, his crew were busy repairing their ship, Aura's Revenge after the last fight, and Drake, captain of The Dragon was also at the base, his crew were refueling and taking on some extra supplies, because after this the two of them were going bounty Hunting, the two had always been old friends due their time as captains and when their last leader, Shadow died, the two had given the other their cube, each wished the best of luck, in the end it came out 3-1-1 for Thorne, who'd use a whole array of tricks to try and get the cubes from the others. Still now he lead the Night Guardians, he had led them out of a dark tunnel so to speak, as he led them to be bounty hunters and Mercenaries, as he had been when he was a solo agent. Entering a large council room Thorne looked around him, besides Drake there was also Clone, a rather young women, who was in command of the asteroid base itself, she often joined the captains for meetings but had no place in choosing who was to be the leader, some of the crew called the lot who protected their base Half-pirates. Thorne nodded to Clone anyway, respecting her position. "We're going to be heading out to the Tau-Ceti system, Sonar can you give me some details on it?"
"Yes Sir, the Tau Ceti system is inhabited by humanoid lizards who call themselves The Race, they control two of the planets in the system bu they also have two planets outside of their native system. they have FTL travel, and all the tech that comes with that, we haven't had any major meeting with them before Sir"
"Thanks Clone" Thorne said, looking over at Drake, "We may have to keep our Kroot more restrained than usual, and remember Bounty Hunters not Pirates."
"Yes Sir" Drake replied, looking at the data slate he'd been holding as it flashed up new information. "How long till your crew's ready to go, we're waiting on you now"
"We're expecting to be finished in an hour, its the more simple works so we're running all the tests now as well." Thorne replied, "We'll leave as soon as the final checks have been done.

The new captain sat in his living quarters on board Marx-Billand. Scarman Sal 2, indeed the second of his name, and the first human captain in a while, had just been elected by the crew of RED to represent the fleet and further the revolutionary cause. It was a lot to take in, and even his bloodthirsty image had trouble handling the pressure.

"Man," Sal said, "things sure do get damn tough. Don't they, IAN?" IAN, the Intellectually Advanced Nanocomputer, was the AI which controlled all five ships in the fleet from a tiny speck of circuitry on the mothership.

"ALL PREVIOUS CAPTAINS HAVE SAID AS MUCH," replied IAN, "BUT IN MY EXPERIENCE, SUCCUMBING TO THE PRESSURE HAS ALWAYS CONTRIBUTED TO THE WORST LEADERS. FOR EXAMPLE, BLOOD BILLAND--"

"--Blood Billand?" questioned Sal, now confused, "He's our founder, the bastard who built you!"

"BLOOD BILLAND 2, THE BASTARD THAT NEARLY DISABLED MY PROCESSES."

"Oh, Paris Bloodshed Billand. Gotcha. Anyway, how are the rest of the crew doing? How're the ships?"

"I HAVE DETECTED A SMALL FUEL LEAKAGE ABOARD MARX-BILLAND. ENGELS-SAL REQUIRES MAINTENANCE FROM THE PREVIOUS BOUNTY. EFFICIENCY IS CURRENTLY AT 60%. NO PROBLEMS HAVE BEEN FOUND AMONG THE CREW."

"Okay, send a proposal to launch a cargo vessel to bring back fuel and parts. It's got to be a space repair this time. I would rather Engels-Sal not go back to Urusan, considering what happened last time."

"THE PROPOSAL HAS BEEN SENT. ARE MY SERVICES REQUIRED ELSEWHERE, SCARMAN SAL 2?"

"I'm fine for now, IAN. Go bother someone else." Sal chuckled.

CAE-2670 is awoken. After going though the standard boot sequence, he is assigned to the new colony, as a constructor. The new colony is a wild planet, with carbon based life on the surface, and plenty of water for refining into Hydrogen for power, and oxygen for export. The carbon would come in handy also, mostly for building more Robs. The iron and other metals would go towards the building of structures and weapons.

"Commander, the humans are fighting on colony T-2234." One of Amatri's men said

Amatri just sighed. "Get the forces on the planet and tell them, show no mercy. Show no sanity."

The large Reptilian man simply nodded and picked up a Comms device and was talking to the C.D.S. (Colonial Defence Station) orbiting the planet. "Drop in the colony, and fuck some shit up."
In CDS-2234 Sgt. D'mekaro grinned. "Alright ladies to the pods! Lets wipe the pinkies from the planet!" The solidest cheered and ran into their drop pods. Ready for the battle that would soon erupt.

Alium, Homeworld of the Imperium
Core World

The Emperor was looking out of a window, looking at his diverse Imperium. His Empire controls a small part of the galaxy, but the Imperium has lately sighted humans wandering into their territories. Then, the door opened and a soldier walked in. He had a Electric Spear in his hand, which indicates he is a Honour Gaurd Commander.

"Sir." Said the commander.
The Emperor turned around to face him.
"Yes?" The Emperor replied.
"Sir, we have spotted a small race of humans going into one of our Outer Colonies. What shall we do?"
"I shall consult my council."

Destuchland I, World Capital

brrrrr-ing brrrr-ing brrrr-i

With an groan, Heinz Dietrich shut off his alarm, before stumbling out of his bed. My nice comfy bed he thought to himself, before moving into his closet. With a flick of his fingers, the lights turned on, and he quickly managed to pull himself into his feldgrau bluse, before sending the light off and going into the kitchen.

Of course, there were machines that automatically turned the lights off and on by the themselves and could fit clothes on an person without any work of the person himself, and indeed he did have such machines installed in his house - the Führer disapproved of often use of said machines, as it would make people lazy and too reliant. After all, the Führer advocated independence - except from himself and the Reich, in which you said be completely loyal to both for life.

However making breakfast was abit too time consuming. His data pad shown that his boss wanted him at the DR office immediately. So he pressed a few buttons, and in a matter of seconds an fresh meal of bacon and eggs were ready for him. Humans in the GGR were genetically modified to be slightly stronger then baseline humans and more fertile, so to speak.

He quickly slid into his " flying car, " completely powered by hydrogen fuel cells of course and took off into the air. There was miniature force fields that indicated " air autobahn " and prevented drivers from spiraling into one another. It wasn't long before he arrived at the diplomatic relations office.

He stepped out of his car, before moving towards the door of the building. Government buildings and other important structures were ID locked - the chip that every citizen got implanted into their wrists from birth. He pulled down his sleeve and ran his wrist over the visor implanted near the door.

A feminine voice spoke " Welcome " before the door slid open and Heinz stepped in. It quickly closed as Heinz stepped into the elevator, which catapulted him up the building in a instant. He stepped off of the elevator, and moved into the Oberst's office.

" Hauptmann Dietrich? "

" Ja Wohl, Herr Oberst? "

" A machine arrived this morning, it said it was a scout from something called the robs. You've been to foreign civilizations before, I'll like you to take a look at it. "

Heinz nodded. He was often sent out to other civilizations as part of diplomatic squads. The Reich had rather homophobic views towards non human ailens, however Heinz believed it could be more then beneficial to make allies with certain ailen races and infact, he thought several race's culture were guite interesting.

He kept his views to himself.

He stepped deeper into the office with the Oberst, in which he saw a robot. Most of the time foreign nations sent citizens of their own nation to personally greet them as ambassadors and almost never robots.

Besides, this machine had no markings of any nation he had heard of or in the archives....
However robotics itself were no new concept to the Reich. There were many advanced A.Is and manual labour robots along with house hold machines.

He stepped up to the machine. " Hello? "

Before the Emperor had a chance to consult the council, he recieved a message from Colonel Anna Verdura. She bowed before the Emperor and said her message.
"Sir."
"What?" Replied the Emperor.
"A ambassador has been sent from the German Reich. They want to speak with us."
"Where is he?"
"Downstairs, Sir."

"Robotic Explorer and Diplomatic Droid, Call sign 2334." "Sent to find Carbon based-life grouping known as 'Germany.'" the Rob croaked out. The machine then seemed to shut down, but then rebooted.
"Ah, hello Heinz, I am glad to have found your civilization." the Scout said, with sudden authority. "We are the Rob."

Ch'lael's Quarters, Ch'kia Hive, Mantius

Image

The Legati (General) of the Ch'kia Hive, known as Legati Ch'mai, sat with a powerful Patrici (Politician). They fed off of Beezle Larvae, a truly delicious species while they talked about the growing Muai'ri Hive on Volcaeus.
"They are growing too powerful, their Hive Mother is talking of open rebellion" said Ch'lael, the Patrici
"Hah, let them try. We shall crush them like the last Hive that dominated Volcaeus" Ch'mai replied, laughing as he said it.
"But if we crush them now, then the other Hive's will fall back into place and the Mother would reward us" pleaded Ch'lael
"Enough of this, we will not attack those fools first. Yet we must prepare our defences, the Muai'ri are sneaky buggers. I shall consult the Mother at once" said Ch'mai, as he stood up and stormed out of the Patrici's room.

The Centre, Ch'kia Hive, Mantius

In the Centre of the Hive, the mother sat with her attendants running around her. She was listening to her Legati who was asking her for more Legi'i (soldiers). With a sigh, she agreed and got to work birthing the next generation of soldiers, Her Legati hadn't let her down so far and trusting him was the only thing she could do.

((Please note that the Manti'i communicate through Pheromones, clicks and tapping.))

The Emperor sits in his large chair, a hand on his chin as he leans forward, deep in thought. He spins his chair around, looking out of the large window, which is in a semi-circle around him, he gazes out over the city of Pyrrhus. The smoke still rising from the far too recent civil war, which the Loyalist forces won.. Barely. He turns quickly once again after hearing someone enter his large office, his daughter stands before him saying quietly, "Father? Is everything alright?" He gives a sharp nod back saying, "Of course sweetie, everything's good when you're around. What do you need?" She walks forward, sitting in a small leather chair infront of the desk, she leans forward onto her father's desk saying, "Well, I was wondering if I could get permission to go with Cousin Lucy to Vekta for a short holiday, you know.. To get away from the smoke.." The Emperor chuckles, leaving a small smile on his face afterwards, "Okay kido, give Lucy my regards, and tell her to remember her Father's birthday this year, we don't want another repeat of last time.."

She smiles, saying loudly, "Thank you! I will, and stay safe okay?" she waits a few seconds for him to say 'OK' before skipping off into the corridor, once again leaving the Emperor alone with his thoughts. He spins to gaze out at the city once more, watching as the ships fly by and the smoke fades, he spends several hours with his thoughts before getting down to work, filling out forms and the such, and writting out a new plan for the year.

The sun rose over the human colony. Things were peaceful. They had raided a small village set up by the UCCB. And there were shooting stars...wait... they were metal. It couldn't be. It was them. Suddenly the steel pods smashed into the ground and Bojikami forces rushed out. They fired at the humans, blew up buildings... it was genocide. After a few miutes of fighting the colony was reduced to ash.

" Such as? "

The Ambassador doubted these ruffins had any technological advantages, but the wise thing would to be listen to any suggestions they make. So he did.

The ambassador seemed unfazed.

" We have all of that and more, Imperator. However you seem to have an very large population. No doubt such an large civilization needs materials to fuel it's continued existence. We have such materials, from one of our dwarf planets and perhaps we could trade it for currency or.....? "

He once again waited for an reply.

( perhaps we could do this over telegrams? )

A meeting concerning pirates was being held between the Fleetlords and the Emperor. It was being observed by the second-in-commands of each fleet. "Now with the traitor has been exiled," said the Emperor. "We can focus on the so-called pirates. They have been ruining our trade routes with the outside colonies and the remaining galaxy." They had to use the english word of pirates because their language does not have a word for it, like many.
"Correct, Emperor," said Fleetlord Atvar. "These pirates, as called by most of the galaxy, must be dealt with. Recently I heard that some have ambushed a convoy full of weapons headed toward the Disanu system. Bunch of savages, they are. Just like the Tosevs, regardless of race." Atvar shook his head.
"True, Atvar," said Fleetlord Daqer. "We have had trouble with them, considering some are from the Race." Then someone came in.

"Fleetlords, Emperor," he said. "We have detected two ships enter the system. They appear to..." He had trouble saying it.
"Bounty hunter?" said Atvar.
"Correct, Fleetlord," said the one that detected the ships. "They are headed here, for Home."
