The Royal Palace, Saint Martin, Kingborough

Prince Iosac II was surrounded by uncertainty as he paced his study floor, wringing his hands in indecision. From outside the shouts of protesters came, interrupting the normal tranquillity of the Royal Palace, and occasional shots could be heard being fired in the distance - Police dealing with the rioters who were currently ravaging main street. Indeed, if the Prince had looked out the window, he would have even seen smoke pillowing up from burning store fronts downtown, lit up by the aforementioned angry riots.

Not to mention that the Crown Princess was apparently missing, a protester had set himself on fire outside the Palace just a half an hour past, and Parliament was continuing to sit in defiance of his edict- the riots weren't the worst of his troubles it seemed.

Sighing, he made his way to the door - someone had to make the hard decisions, and he could no longer try and wait it out.

Cracking open the door, he called for his closest advisor. When the man, a short and stocky butler dressed in a simple but expensive suit, arrived the Prince cut straight to the chase.

"Jameson, please tell the General to remove the protesters outside the Palace and have them all charged with being a public nuisance and trespassing on Crown property."

"Yes Sir."

"Oh and issue another demand for Parliament to dissolve and including an or else or similar. Get them thinking about what I might do if they don't comply."

"Yes Sir, consider it done."

A warehouse on the outskirts of Saint Martin

The hooded figure spoke from a podium, speaking with zealous fire to a enthralled crowd and gesturing wildly as it spoke, "...... He crushes our freedoms, he calls for the destruction of democratic institutions - He is nothing but a glorified dictator, and we shan't let him rule any longer .... "

"Here here!" Rolled back from the crowd, some followers even clapping and jumping to their feet as if in readiness to fight.

The figure continued, now obviously speaking of the Prince. "We must fight his tyrannical rule, bring him to his knees and strip him of his power! For freedom is the highest achievement that we can strive for and we shan't let any wannabe dictator destroy ours!"
The figure stepped down to thunderous applause, the sound only drowned out by heavy machinery that had been set going in the next room for this very purpose - to mask this conference of democratic fighters.

Ruthan Demetrios walked along the street observing the protests, the light occasionally catching the glasses she wore. She wore her dark hair in a ponytail, a ribbed white top and black yoga pants with black shoes; she was an attractive woman in her mid thirties with a sensual walk and a bright alert expression. She was officially a commercial traveler, negotiating the possibility of a chain of Serenely Barbecued Chicken restaurants in the more stable parts of New Edom, representing an investors' group from the country interested in promoting tourism. At a certain point however it looked overtly dangerous; she could see flames licking out of a storefront, smelled the bitter sting of tear gas in the air, and saw people running back and forth angrily. While she was not terribly afraid, she decided that discretion was the better part of valour and ducked into a store to take refuge for a moment.

Secretly, she was in town to contact radicals, but she was doing it carefully; she had had a near death experience before tangling with a group of overly paranoid radicals, and it had not been a fun experience at all. What she had arranged to have sent before was a desire to establish contact in order to encourage an uprising, to replace the monarchical government with one favourable to the people. What she had come to offer were the following: communications equipment, demolitions, ammunition, small arms, heavy weapons, and if need be actual military assistance, though that would be at the discretion of any rebel organizations. New Edom couldn't offer a huge army or fleet, especially right now, but they could offer help directly.
"The three articles of Civil Service faith: it takes longer to do things quickly, it's far more expensive to do things cheaply, and it's more democratic to do things in secret." - Jim Hacker "Yes Minister"

Belgrade, Falsea

In the People's Hall, a debate by the National Assembly had just ended. 78 out of 100 members of the NA had voted for Falsean intervention in the war, to protect the rightful ruler of Kingborough from would be oppressors, from enemies that threatened the peace, and disobedient rats. The Premier had went out of the waiting hall, looking excited. She immediately entered her office, and began writing a communique to the side the Falsean government had deemed rightful of support.

Subject: Assistance

Greetings to the people of Kingborough. In light of recent events in your honourable nation, we here at Falsea have heard about the dilemma your country is experiencing at the moment and we sympathize with your government, the Prince especially. We are utterly apalled by the actions of the Duchess in which you have sought to remove from power, and we commend your decision to do so. Yet we are also apalled by the blatant and outright shocking actions of the Parliament. We condemn their actions and see it fit that you had them dismissed.

Therefore, after a recent vote held in the National Assembly and State Party, we would hereby like to offer you our support in these dark times of chaos in your nation. If you would grant us permission, we would like to be able to land our forces to Kingborough so that we may assist your efforts in cleansing out the hooligans who disturb your peaceful lands. If permission is granted, the following forces will be sent to aid you in battle.

Royal Palace, Saint Martin, Kingborough

The Prince grimaced as he read the Falsea'ian letter. A thousand thoughts whirled around his mind as he seriously considered the offer - foremost was a question for himself; could he really ask a foreign military to help kill his citizens, and still have the moral highground?

Sighing, he looked out the window. The chaos had only got worse, and now gun fire could be heard from the direction of Ambassador Lane; soldiers fighting to keep rioters away from the foreign embassies, the Prince knew.

Even closer to the Royal Palace flames licked at the Captains Regent's palace; the result of a two hour standoff between the Captains Regent and the Prince via their own personal armies, when she refused to stand down on his orders.
She had escaped, but at the cost of the 17th century Palace - which was now crumbling to cinders - and the lives of six bodyguards and ten soldiers. It was believed she was hiding her own personal home in Nova Cymru but the Prince dared not attack her there, least the local Duke decide to assist her.

At least protesters had been swept away, but the arson from the earlier riots still burnt in a fiery inferno - engulfing three blocks of businesses downtown, and only just under control now.
Where fire wasn't, the city now looked desolate. People had fled the streets in fear, Parliament had made a run for it with the Captains Regent, as had the Mayor and the cities government - except they were believed to be headed for San Marin instead of Nova Cymru.

Finally, he made his decision and began to pen a letter.

Dear Premier Everett,

I am most relieved to receive your offer of support - things are spiraling out of control here and Falsea's military backing would be most useful. Please direct your forces to arrive in Saint Martin harbour, where we will establish communication with them and begin the work to establish stability in my country again.

The actions of the mob government has been despicable, promoting unrest and violence, and they must be cleaned up as they won't go quietly and peacefully. Your support will help remove these people from positions where they can promote more hate against my person.

Regards,
Prince Iosac II of Kingborough

En-route to Saint Martin

In the waters near Saint Martin, Kingborough, a flotilla of ships plus a few hundred transport vessels were trudging through the waters. The flotilla had left a few hours ago, loaded and ready, to take down the rebellion that threatens the piece of a sovereign nation regarded as a friend by the nation. Yet Commanding Officer Richard Banner thought silently to himself. If they had been sent to quell a rebellion, why do they need battleships and MiGs for the job? and in this case. why even bother sending military personnel to Kingborough's Monarch, and to the nation itself? these daydreams slowly floated away as the flotilla had finally arrived in the harbour of Saint Martin. The battleships and carrier docking on it while the transports docked near the beach area.

CO Banner walked out from his office into the deck of the FNS Stingray, one of the two battleships sent by the Central Military Committee to aid in stamping out the dissidents. Breathing the air of Kingborough, the CO sighed in relief, as troops in the beach began disembarking and unloading their supplies, the massive T-95 tanks thundering from behind. A seaman approached him and tapped his back.

"Sir, we've arrived, the troops need orders and an allied commander awaits us.", said the seaman.

"Very well, let's go. The sooner we end this, the better, for all of us.", he replied, as he walked down to the bridge.

In the busy harbour of Saint Martin, a man wearing a distinctive military uniform approached CO Banner. This was presumably the commander sent by the Prince to help with the joint effort of wiping out the rebels.

"Greetings honourable sir, my name is Richard Banner, commanding officer of the Falsean Strikeforce that will lend aid to your nation.", he said, while putting his hand forward for a shake.

Postby Carminica » Fri Sep 07, 2012 10:40 am

House of Commons, Government Palace, Lottingham, Carminica

Packed from wall to wall, the commons became a flurry of papers and pageboys as the members belted across the aisle to their political rivals. Usu8ally met with little success, the Speaker of the House Commons finally managed to command the attention of the house allowing the leader of the oppsition to attempt the get something out of the Prime Minister.

The sleeves of his black robe beat in the air as he slammed his gavel on the thick wooden plate attached to his seat, "ORDER! ORDER! ORDER!" he cried "if this honourable house wishes to come to a final decision on this grave matter then I would assume that each and every one of you, specifically the honourable member from York-East, will allow his majesty's loyal opposition the right to speak!"

"Thank you Mr.Speaker..." Dame Alision Grahorn, Leader of the HM Loyal Opposition, took to her feet "...I think the fundamental question which Carminican's are asking is "WHY?" the situation in Kingsborough is simply domestic and we have no right to send our sons and daughters to fight a war that was instigated by rogue noble and an overzealous Prince! It seems to me, and many Carminican's, that this is a matter of the Kingsborough constitution and the inability for them to get their affairs in order...not a job for the Carminican military! Tell me Mr. Prime Minister! Since when was it the job of millions of tax payers money to put a jolt of life in a unsustainable constitutional amendment? If you ask me Mr Prime Minister, this is matter of weak state function not a matter for the Carminican military!"

The opposition beat their palms on the oak desk in agreement with their leader.

"Order! Order...." the Speaker shouted "...the honourable Prime Minister for the response."

Clam and collected, Prime Minister Chaves took to the Prime Minister's box "I would like to make is very clear to the leader of the loyal opposition that yes, we are aware that this is a domestic issue in Kingborough but it is an issue which I am confident that Carminican's know that in their hearts they cannot sit and let happen with a blind eye. Let it be clear, Kingsborough is in a state of civil war! The sovereign Prince has become challenged in his constitutional duty, the parliament has managed to fail in it's ability to deliver good government and the Duchess has managed to gain control of sovereign land that is rightfully in the possession of the state! Honouable lady, I think Carminican's know that is issue is not at our shores but as a united front we must not only support our allies in times of distress but set an example for the world and our enemies! Let them know that when our allies are hurting we will be there! Let them know that we are a society of principles and values and when those are threaten in any capacity we will be there to show our support and provide a remedy! The facts continue my houourable lady, the enemies of the Kingsborough state have committed themselves to the the total removal of the Prince and therefore the collapse of the Kingsborough state! Now, I ask you? Do we run when our friends ask for help? Do we hide when we are faced with threat of destruction? Do you remove ourselves when we think the issues is not ours to deal with? I can assure you, the answer from Carminicans is NO! That is why, that is why this government is ready to see a military operation deployed with the direct goal of aiding the Kingsboruogh government and restoring functions of the state without the terrorist threat! Now, leader of the opposition, with the support of the Carminican people, the ministry of defense, and defense council I ask you and your party to stand united as we take the next step in Carminica's military operations."

In deep breath the government side burst into thunderous applause and cheers of agreement as the Prime Minister took his seat. He looked over to the Minister of Defense who then looked as the Prime minister with a small grin of approval.

"Who is to pay? When do they go? If is is war we must be ready!" an opposition backbenchers shouted from the members of parliament, many of which nodded as if they wanted to know the same thing.

The Minister of Defense, The Rt Hon Geoffrey Valgard, stood before the house "The finances are still under review....what we do know is that it will not be as much as any regular military operation. With the established infrastructure in Kingborough a lot of logistical issues will be done which ease and less cost. As well, this is a multi-naitonal effort with many Kingsborough allies aiding the situation too. Simply put, the cost should be offset by the large numbers of support from other countries. Well, the act of war as been drafted and the palace is on standby. If the motion is passed, the first troops will be sent out tomorrow afternoon. Fort Armington has been readied for this possibility for some time and ready to start."

"Well, the Prime Minister's case holds some water and the Minister has explained how the ministry view the logistics but can the Prime Minister tell the house how long he has had this information? Also, if this situation involved San Romana I could see the justification but Carminica and Kingsborough maintain very new and relatively weak diplomatic relations...I don't see how involvement can better Carminican interest."

The Prime Minister gestured the Minister of Foreign Affairs to take the question "As the question refers to foreign office I shall take the question..." the opposition rolled their eyes as the minister flipped through her notes "...In terms of how long we have had this information, the ministry had recieved notice from the Kingborough government some days ago. The National Security Commission and the ministry had already been following the situation very closely and had implemented a preliminary plan in case the terrorist activities spread of we had needed to enter the situation diplomatically or with a armed presence. Kingsborough may not have a established diplomatic with us BUT they are one of our allies and the reality remains that it is within our interest to contain the situation. A safer world at large is a safer Carminica."

"Mr. Prime Minister..." the shadow minister of foreign affairs spoke up "From our reports, the looks as though the Prince and Captains Regent are unable to reach common ground on the matter at hand. Who are we fighting for? The Prince that has lost the trust of his people and governed? or the government that has been unable to maintain control of the duchess and neglect with will of their sovereign prince? Could the Prince Minister explain who or what we are fighter?....that even if he knows"

"Well, I can explain that to the member for Jolton-Center. It is out position that our goal should be sustaining the safety and security of the Prince and princely family as well as supporting the government from third party actors that seek to disturb the peace and removal of the duchess if need be. First and foremost, we are allied with the Kingsborough state and by extension the crown. All that we do shall be done with the best interest of the crown in mind. "

Back and forth, the questions and explains flew across the House of Commons. From a simple yesor no to speeches that drove the attention span of the house to the ground, with little sight of defeating the conservative lead commons the labour opposition pulled out every trick in the book before the final vote.

Clearly, drawn and ready to come to a final vote the speaker stood before the house. "As Speaker of the House of Commons it has been called upon me to collect the vote from the honourable house concerning the Kingsborough Armed Intervention Mission Act. Those in favour shall with house here your desires expressed in a "YAY"."

Like a wall, the yays belted from the government side.

"All those in disagreement, shall the house here your desires expressed as a "NAY.""

However passionate, it was clear that the nays lacked the support needed

"As it has become known to me as Speaker of the House of Commons, it is with sound mind and clear thought that i declare the Kingsborough Armed Internation Mission Act passed by this most honourable chamber. As supported by the House of Peers, I recognize this act empowered by the expedience clause and for it to be delivered directed to the king for royal assent. I declare this emergency session closed."

With the act passed and the session ended, members of the commons quickly made their way to their offices. Awaiting royal assent, Carminica would enter war for the first time since 1831 and the government was ready to put its plans into motion.

Carvict Palace, Lottingham, Carminica

*KNOCK*KNOCK*KNOCK*

"Come in..." King Louis shouted as he searched from a red box as his desk "It is ready, I suggested it passed, no?"

"Yes your majesty.." Sir Albert Collins, Deputy Lord Chamberlain, informed the king as he carried over a small file "The commons has passed the act and the government is awaiting your signature."

"Very well than." the King the single sheet of paper to his desk. Unassuming enough, the single paper in the thin file was one of the most power piece of legislation the king had yet to come across "the time has come." the king took up a black pen with his personal crest printed on. First a signature at the top of the page and a final at the bottom the royal assent was given and Carminica was officially at war.

Sir Albert looked at the King, the King looked at Sir Albert "It is but our duty. With gods speed we shall overcome."

"Of course your majesty." Sir Alberta bowed before retrieving the document and returning it to the Prime Minister

Declaration on the Duchess of Novyi Rus and Supporters

By way of our royal prerogative and constitutional right, it has became ours willingness through sound mind and clear thought to adopt the Kingsborough Armed Intervention Mission Act by dawning it with our royal assent. As stipulated by the act, it is with brave heart and compassionate mind that we declare war on Duchess of Novyi Rus and her supporter. Furthermore, we stand in absolute solidarity with the sovereign Prince of Kingsborough.

Louis Rex

Belhorizonian Royal Palace, PalmierVille

The King was fingering the mahogany wood of his throne. As he etched on the gold lining and pondered what to do, his Chief Of Staff Henderson stared at him, concerned.

The king was never this troubled. All he knew is that a war is troubling him, but Henderson knew that when it comes to that the King is ruthless and fast in his decision making, not sorrowful and thinkful.

The Chief Of Staff mustered enough courage to ask the king what was troubling him, hoping not to trigger another fit. "Your Majesty, is everyth..."

"No everything is not OK" answered the king, reading Henderson's mind. "The nation of Kingborough, which is dear to my heart is under attack. A ruthless civil war, and Prince Isaac, my friend, isolated"

"I do not see the problem your highness, we should just send help." Henderson was lost, the answer was obvious, why was the king hesitating.

"I fear for public opinion at home. Too many wars might unsettle our population." The King was obviously out of his plate, he never thought like this.

"Don't worry your majesty, that is trivial compared to the matter at hand. I will issue the necessary orders. If this is bugging you so much it must be remedied."

"Thank you."

The Chief Of Staff exited the room to issue the relevant orders. The king looked at him warmly. Henderson was the most loyal person the King ever knew, and the closest to his heart. He trusted him in everything. He just hoped, that Henderson would be up to the task he voluntarily tackled.

4th Fleet, Mirovia

Admiral Bassil strolled down the deck followed by his second in command. He stood by the railings and contemplated the sea. He was on a regular patrol mission in neighbouring waters, and was extremely glad to be away from war for once. He took in the smell of saltwater he so enjoyed, without the thumping of batteries. It felt so good.

A ringing phone disrupted his daydreams. It was the Second Admiral's phone. He answered it.
"Yes?....Of course...I'll inform the Admiral" He hung up and looked at the admiral.

"What is it?"
"You are needed in the comms room, sir."
"Comms room eh? Must be our revised route. Damn whales, they always seem to be in our route."
"It seems so sir." The admiral chuckled as he walked towards the comm room.

The door was wide open, something against protocol ,and all of the captains from all the boats in the fleet were inside. This was not a revised route. When the Admiral walked it everyone snapped to attention and a Lieutenant came forward and gave him a paper. The Admiral frowned as he read it. After a while, he looked up and said.

"We have new orders. To support Prince Isaac in the conflict tearing his nation apart. We are changing route and planes will take off effective immediately. Here is our ORBAT."

Harks Street, Downtown Saint Martin
"Pst." The shadowy figure emerged from the background of the small hardware store, and tapped the skittish New Edom operative on the back. "You are the New Edomite?" The rebel cocked her head to consider it for a moment, before making a decision. "Come with me."

Grasping the arm of the New Edomite woman, she roughly pulled her in the right direction as they retreated out the back door of the hardware store - the sound of breaking glass proved they were just in time, as an armed solider smashed his way through the window of the store, having most likely sighted the New Edomite entering.

"Come out with your hands up ....." The call of the solider faded away as the rebel made a run for an old toyota, bringing the New Edomite with her. After heaving the New Edomite through the door of the car, she jumped into the steering seat and flattened the accelerator. "No time to stop." She explained to her passenger. "Now, tell me about your business here?"

Prince Seamus I Port, Saint Martin
Stepping forward, Jamie Marks - 2nd High General of Kingborough - gripped the Falsean's hand firmly and shook, before releasing it. "Welcome to Kingborough, Commander Banner. It is an honour to meet you."

"Why don't we get down to business. Your most likely tired but we have major problems." The general smiled, leading the Commander to a government car. "The Prince would like to speak to you, and set up battle plans. In the mean time why don't I brief you. Your men can be housed in the old barracks on King and Tier Streets, they haven't been used in a couple of years but we've kept them in running order in case the militia had to be called up."

As the car started, be pulled out a PDA and began to read out a quick briefing. "The rebels have burnt down three blocks of stores in the downtown section, before being pushed back. Battles so far have put down the civilian rioters, but the Captains Regent escaped and fled - leaving the Regents Palace to burn to the ground. Parliament followed her, and the city Major has fled to his cousin the Chairman of San Marin to attempt to gain support for the rebellion. Rebels are still attempting to gain access to the embassy lane, and are depleting our military reinforcements, as soldiers are still coming in from Novyi Rus. Meanwhile the Duchess has released a covert video message over the internet to inspire her 'followers' to fight for freedom, and following this over a hundred residents in Novyi Muscovy took arms and attacked our garrison. We lost contact and the town is assumed captured by enemy forces."

Taking a deepbreath, and looked up as they arrived at the Palace. "Good, the Prince will be looking forward to seeing you." He smiled, jumping out of the car to make for the door.

The Royal Palace, Saint Martin
The Prince sat at his desk, penning a reply to Carmincia - much relieved for their help.

Image

Dear Louis Rex,

I am most relieved to receive your support, and I would be most grateful to Carminicia for sending any military or monetary support you can to Kingborough. These rebels have inflicted large damages on the city, and taken back the capital of Noyvi Muscovy in defiance of my ruling. Your aid will be very useful at this dire time.

Thank you again for your offer of assistance.

Regards,
Prince Iosac II of Kingborough

As he signed the note, a knock came at the door from a courier. Swiftly, a note was dropped on his desk and the man was off again.
Unfolding it, the Prince discovered the communication from Belhorizon. He replied swiftly, wanting to finish before the Falseanians arrived.

Dear Admiral. Thank you. We look forward to your arrival. Regards, Prince Iosac I of Kingborough.

Sorry to almost border on godmodding, but I felt the need to speed things up just slightly.

OOC: My style rarely involves mixing emotions and thoughts during aireal and naval attacks. This will be written in the style of a battle report.

Over KingBorough Airspace

The formation of AC-130s and fighter jets came into view from the Kingborough coast.
"Kingborough ATC, Kingbourough ATC, This is Alpha Charlie 7 coming in fast from the South. We have designated rebel targets to bombard, please confirm our flight route."
As the planes quickly approached KingBorough Airspace, the squadron leader revised his order on his onboard computer.
It read: Obliterate all radio stations in the capital with the Spectres and demoralize rebels with the fighters."

Saint Martin, Kingborough

"The pleasure is all ours, General Marks. It is an honour to fight by the righteous.", said Commander Banner, as he followed the Kingboroughnian officer into a car parked near the entrance to the harbor. The vehicle started to move and he was informed of their destination. They soon left the harbor, as the last troops from the landing craft unloaded the last crates of supplies, after which they started heading towards the barracks in the designated areas. Further behind, the T-95s followed the army trucks, astonishing anyone nearby. Above, 5 Ka-50 Attack Helicopters were sent as a scouting force towards the downtown area, bringing with them full firepower for the Prince's forces.

The Falsean commander listened carefully at the briefing provided by the Kingboroughnian general, as the faint figure of the palace slowly appeared overhead. They eventually arrived, and they started walking towards the magnificent door, encrusted with various gems and jewels, as all Monarchs tend to do with their residences. Paying this no heed and focusing at the task at hand, the Commander spoke again as the two walked towards the meeting.

"What is the current status of the war and where are the main fronts? if i must, i will lead the counterattack myself. The Captains-Regent and especially that vile Duchess must be made to pay for her crimes. I feel this is not the best time to inform you, but let it be known that my naval flotilla has already begun their attacks on the rogue province, to get a head start."

Zion Port, Novyi Muscovi, Noyvi Rus

"Battlestations!", blared a voice through the FNS Stingray. The small naval flotilla sent by from Falsea had already headed towards the main enemy after dropping off the forces. The duchy of Novyi Rus, a debaucherous hellhole that needed to be purged. The vile duchess had already fled, yet her supporters, hooligans and maniacs rather, still continue on with their evil, yet that was about to end. The FNS Stingray and FNS Manticore had positioned themselves off the coast of the city of Novyio Muscovi, and with their massive 180mm cannons, began bombarding the city with salvos of explosive shells.

The FNS Satyr, the aircraft carrier in the flotilla, remained far behind, as it began dispatching an aerial bombing force. 10 of the 50 Su-34 Fighter-bombers were dispatched from the carrier, to begin their preliminary bombing of duchy positions, while landers began coming in from the bay. Some 2000 troops armed with their Ak-74s and 10 T-95 tanks began their assault on the city, to finally end the pervasive evil in the province.

The bombardment ripped holes through the city, flattening structures instantly. A boat building yard was the first victim, falling with the crash of collapsing steel and concrete as a half-built frigate disintegrated into the rubble.

The casualties mounted swiftly, people unable to flee as the town came down around there ears; one shell even reached the center of town, vaporising a cinema and totaling the neighbouring abortion clinic with a flash of ash and smoke.

Bells rang from town hall as the attack continued, the last people just reaching the town hall as the Falseanian troops landed.
There they bunkered down - the heavy oak doors were bolted closed, and citizens with government issued Glock 18's and automatic rifles began to take shots at the enemy through the second story windows and from the bell tower. One guy had even got his hands on a one use rocket launcher, and he unleashed it upon the Falseanians, the short range hand-fired missile whistling out the window and heading for a Falseanian detachment.

The Chairmans Palace, San Marinesian Town, San Marin

"His Grace the Lord Mayor of Saint Martin, Robert McDouglas, and Her Grace the Lady Amelia McDouglas." The herald bellowed unnecessarily loud as the doors to the throne room of San Marin's Chairman swung open to reveal their esteemed visitors.

The Chairman of San Marin, a round little decadent man in long purple robes burst in a huge smile. "Ah, welcome my cousins! How do you do? What news do you bring?" He hugged his cousin, and his cousins wife enthusiastically.

"Good to see you Cousin Fredrick." The Mayor smiled back. "I bring bad news however, war in my lands. Kingborough breaks up in chaos, and the Prince has sent the elected government fleeing in fear of their life." His smile faded. "I have come to request sanctuary within San Marin, and your nations aid for the elected government."

His cousin took a step back, looking at the mayors serious visage. "Sanctuary is granted my friend! But San Marin is just a small nation, how can we assist anyone? Even Kingborough can squash us like bugs."

"San Marin has access to all of Kingborough's military equipment, its satellites, its military data, through the Treaty of Saint Bernadette. Let us destroy Kingborough's capability for war! San Marin is famous the region across for its technological prowess, certainly your hackers could bring down the military of Kingborough?"

"Well ..... I like your idea. The Prince always has been a bit .... snobby for my mood." The Chairman slowly began to grin.

Alpha Charlie 7

"Roger that Saint Martin ATC." The pilot then switched to tactical comms. "Team we are a go. Have the AC-130s Separate and diverge to their target with 2 F/18s, the other 3, on me."

The formation swiftly executed its orders, and the newly formed Alpha Charlie 6 F/18 formation, consisting of 4 planes. The rest of the planes, 32 of them, maintained a holding pattern for defensive measures.

The 4 F/18s had a perfect plan, devised by a Belhorizonian General. They could not afford attacking without a fleet in place for backup, so to demoralize the rebels, the planes will fly faster than the speed of sound, causing a sonic boom , that makes even the toughest man crap his pants.

The planes headed as far away as possible from the radio stations, the bomber's targets, and went to rebel controlled areas according to intel.
"Get ready for the plunge team."

As soon as the order was given, the 4 planes dived towards the ground, and stopped descending when they reached the minimum flying altitude.
"Throttles up" rang the comm.

The next thing that anyone in that area heard was a large boom, a shaking ground and the sound of breaking glass.

AC-130 Formation, recently re-baptized Alpha Charlie 5

"We are in position overlord."
"Roger that, assume holding position and fire at will."
"Roger that" the pilot of the lead bomber then switched to secondary comms.
"All planes, we are a go. Report to your pilots."

All weapon handlers on the plane gave their roger, and went about their business. On the lead plane, the weapons handler was Lieutenant Jerry S. He adjusted his thermal screen according to the coordinates provided by intel and begun. "Target in sight. Prepping 105mm howitzer shell." he said as he focused on a radio station, empty according to intel due to the civil war.
"Fire at your own discretion" replied the pilot.
"Roger. Firing" the plane jerked back a tad because of the shell's velocity. "We have a confirmed hit. Reloading."

The scene was the same in radio station's across the city. If the mission succeeds, nothing will remain but rubble, knocking with it rebel propaganda.

New Nice, Nouvelle Francaise
Fredrick Pierre sighed, and leaned back in his chair with a hot chocolate in his hand. Today was his 'relaxing' day, and as a treat he was listening to his favourite channel, Liberty 120.9FM. It was of many channels that freedom fighters had been using to spread their message, and was fast becoming the most popular channel in Nouvelle Francaise.

"The Prince has moved to assail democracy in the nation over the past days, with Her Grace the Captains Regent forced to flee the capital ....." The radio crackled from his sideboard. "The tyranny of the Belhorizonians and Falseanese shall not prevail, we have been assured by the freedom fighters."

Static crackled. "What's this .... we'll be back in a ...." Their was a crash over the waves, then the radio went dead, nothing but static.

Fredrick groaned, unhappy at this interruption, and pulled himself up. However after whacking it several times he gave up, and tried to tune over to another channel.

"This is just in ..... government ordered attacks by Belhorizonian aircraft have achieved destruction of more than half of Kingborough's 20 radio channels! Freedom of the press appears to be dangerously under attack ....."

"First, thank you for your assistance. We would be most grateful for your nations recognition, and support. Most of all we need assistance in combating the Prince's menace, but I know New Edom is not able to provide military support so your weapons and money will go a long way." The rebel supporter smiled. "Now, how about you meet our leader."

They pulled up in a isolated alleyway behind an old warehouse, and she jumped out of the car to head towards an old rusty door in a corner of the building.

Rebels proclaim themselves rightful government
Kingboroughian freedom fighters proclaim themselves the rightful government of Kingborough.

The rebel group known as the "Kingboroughian Freedom Fighters" have today released a press release proclaiming themselves the rightful government of Kingborough, and revealing their shadowy leadership in a shocking twist worthy of a B-grade drama.

In the press release made early this morning via national television, a spokesperson for the group publicly announced that "under the rightful leadership of Her Most Serene Highness, Princess Edana" they were "the legitimate government of Kingborough", "The Prince having forfeited his right to rule through his disgraceful dismissal of the democratic government and crimes against freedom," and "demand the immediate abdication of Prince Iosac II to his daughter the Princess Edana."

The Prince has publicly released a statement saying that those responsible for this illegal broadcast would be brought to justice. However this comes as the Union for Police and Lawkeeping announced a nation wide strike of the police force, giving rise to doubt over how the Prince actually expects to do so. Kingborough has no government intelligence or security agency.

Alpha Charlie 5

The operator of one of the AC-130s in the formation began. "Target hit, base. Awaiting new intel."
"Alpha Charlie 5," came the response almost simultaneously. "All targets are NOT destroyed. PalmiersVille won't wait any more. Clear the airspace for Alpha Charlie 7 to release their payloads."
The pilot took the lead this time. "Roger that Base, clearing airspace.

Alpha Charlie 7 & 6

The 36 F/18s regrouped on a specific waypoint then separated into 6 groups of 6 planes.
They could not target all 10 remaining stations, for logistical and tactical reasons, so intel targeted the most popular ones left.

The planes broke out of formation ,and from satellite, 6 arrowheads can be seen speeding towards their respective target.
As the first formation came in sight, the radio rung in all cockpits.

"Formation 3 in range. Team. Weapons report?"
A series of "All sets" and "Ready" responded, and the formation captain continue.
"Lock on to targets and fire on my order."
As the planes got closer, the pilots aligned their noses to aim at the radio station. No guided missiles, the hit had to be confirmed.
"Fire! Fire!" came the order, followed by the ensuing. "Pull up. Release your payloads when permitted."

The payloads were bombs, 2 of them on each plane.
Whether this was overkill or just precautionary measures, no one knew, but what mattered to the pilots is, their mission is over and they're returning to base.

"Continue firing at those dug-outs, rout out those dissidents!", blared the voice of the FNS Stingray's captains. The assault on the small town was going well for the most part. The structures occupied by the people of the Debauchery were more or less razed to the ground, as another salvo of shells hit the city. The landings had ended by now, and 1821 soldiers were still standing. The civilians, trained in guns by their government had a fierce resistance, and were not giving up.

But the determination of the Falsean troops was not going to be easily wrecked. Splitting in two groups, 500 of the soldiers stood behind as a reserve, while the rest began their blitzkrieg on the city. Charging into battle, they grenaded every structure occupied by the rebels and shot down the foolish civilians. Within minutes, this was going to be over...

The Chairman of San Marin and the Lord Mayor of Saint Martin stood idly chatting to each other in the "military bunker" - really basement - under the Chairmans Palace. In front of them a plethora of computer equipment had been set up, while four expert hackers, hired from across the country, tapped away at keyboards frantically.

"So, we're in?" The chairman asked.

"Yes. Using the low-level link the Kingboroughians automatically give the Sanmarinese government I was able to break in and get full control easily." The eldest of the hackers, a 30 something man who had declined to give a name beyond "Black", said.

"Good. Good. Can you lock them out?"

"Already done, Mr. Chairman. It's not permanent but it'll keep them out while we work on disabling the satellite."

"Great! Now lets start getting a look at things down on the ground."

The hacker nodded, typed a few things and a picture came up on the large wall screen - a high resolution view of the fighting in Novyi Muscovy.

"Great. Feed this through to the rebels if you can find them. Record everything going on, then crash this baby!" The chairman chuckled, and nudged his cousin the Lord Mayor with a wink.

An hour later, the six Iosac I satellites each gave a jerk on their thrusters, angled down and ten minutes later each of them hit the atmosphere like a stone. One after another they burst into flames as the unprotected instruments were ripped apart by the heat of reentry.

The people of Novyi Muscovy never had a chance - while they did managed to inflict a couple of dozen casualties on the Falsean soldiers, the superior numbers and training overwhelmed them.

The death knell was when a grenade made it through a window in the bell tower of the Town Hall. It smashed through a stained glass window mid way up the tower, and dropped to the ground at the feet of a gunner; the man didn't even have time to even see what had come through the window before the grenade erupted and vaporised the man in a flash of heat and flames.

The people in the lobby below flinched instinctively as the entire tower came crashing down through the roof above them - the explosion had taken out the middle out of the tower, and it left 10 foot of tower hanging in mid air for a short moment. But only a moment, because then it plummeted down into the crowded room below; ripped through the slate roof of the building, shattering sturdy beams and shredding plasterboard and cladding on its way down, before exploding into a cloud of dust and wreckage when it hit the ground below.

While others still survived after the collapse tower, it wasn't to be for long; because no one in the front half of the building survived a moment further after the falling rubble ignited an ancient bazooka and its ammo that someone that hauled with them.
The front half of the structure simply disintegrated in a roar of smoke and sound.

"Also, thank you to Falsea for your assistance. I hear you have nearly brought down the rogue province already! A great show of Falsea's military might. Let me give you all the details - we have news that the Captains Regent is hiding in the Duchy of Nova Cymru, but we cannot overtly pursue her should the local Duke take up arms to assist her - I do not need my second most populous Duchy at war with me! As for the "Duchess", he spat his words out and wrinkled his nose like he'd bitten something sour - the mention of her obviously made him quite annoyed. Someone got control of their systems, and dropped them on our heads. The satellites are currently in free fall, and four are set to hit the water off the coast of New England duchy and two will impact in the outskirts of New London, inland on the same duchy.
