CC: That is Gary, my friend
GH: Hi Guys!
CC: So lets get cracking to the hotel we're staying for three nights, for the Mid-Break of these Qualifiers.

France: Must say I'm still not convinced of this expansion to 24 teams. It's always been with 16, next thing you know we'll be going with 32! I wanted originality when I founded this thing!
Uruguay: ((OOC: Ahem. I hosted with 13. When there was lack of interest and not 109 nations playing a gazillion qualifiers. And you hosted with 15 because Austria withdrew...))
France: It's the thought that counts.
Brazil: Unless the motion to return to 16 is presented and endorsed at FIFA I can't do anything as President even if I wanted to (unless you slide some money my way) etc etc.
Italy: Besides, we get to play cool new nations! Like, erm, Kuwait! And Honduras! That new Australia puppet! And Georgebestland!
Northern Ireland: aye, best ireland
New Zealand: I was THIS close to pulling Spaamgate you know
France: So England is top seed despite not qualifying for the past two tournaments whereas I at least went to the last one.
England: You're just jealous I have the GOLD TROPHY you introduced and haven't won
France: Brazil kept that one, not you.
Brazil: Yep, right here at CBF HQ. Behind bulletproof glass and crowbar-proof wood. Well locked up.
England: JEALOUSY.
El Salvador: Hey guys, first finals since WC9! Think I can make more of an impact now.
Honduras: Run off, I'm the CONCACAF champion here. Officially better than Mexico.
El Salvador: I had to beat Mexico too.
Honduras: JEALOUSY.
Kuwait: lol you look really similar
Jordan: Hahaha I hadn't noticed.
Palestine: LOL Kuwait
Belgium: Back on topic people! I think I can go pretty far. After all, I topped the group and left the Netherlands out!
France: I think I had more to do with eliminating the Netherlands.
Ireland: that was me actaully.how many times is that we are drawn together,by the way?
France: Fewer than QPeMA and Mytannion. I hope.
Spain: The draw is up guys
Scotland: Think I can do pretty good now, third World Cup in a row. Enough for the second group stage I hope!
Chile: Top of my qualifying group, no goals conceded, good football all around... might just win this thing. Easy group, just need to come up with a witty acronym for G (maybe W), A, A and C.
Algeria: WACA WACA?
Chile: That sounds like some obnoxious World Cup theme song, possibly sung by Mace.
Belgium:Spain wrote:Group 3
Argentina 0-1 Belgium
Woops
Argentina: What you see there is Diego Maradona making his World Cup début at the home ground of the club that just paid the largest transfer fee in history for him. At this rate I'll just have Kempes start scoring again.
Hungary:Spain wrote:Group 3

Did... did someone just resurrect Puskás and company? Not that I'm complaining
Germany:Spain wrote:Group 2
West Germany 1-2 Algeria
Well, I don't- I mean I wasn't- sorry, what?! Let's put rank over RP, people, balance of the 3Rs and all that!
Yugoslavia:Spain wrote:Group 5
Yugoslavia 0-0 Northern Ireland
Yes. Yes, I agree, Germany.
Northern Ireland:
Soviet Socialist Republics: We agreed not to agree with capitalist pigdogs, Yugo. Not when Brazilian capitalist pigdogs drown the cries of RUSSIA VICTOR D:<
England:Spain wrote:Group 4
England 3-1 France
Hey. Hey. Hey, France. Sup?
Poland: Ohhh boy, second group stage, here we go again. Kinda nervous, but I think I've RPed pretty well. Style modifier's working alright, beat Peru 5-1.
Algeria: I DEMAND an explanation as to why the West Germany vs Austria match was scorinated after mine, why there was suggestive chatter on IRC and WHY the result turned out to be exactly the one both of them needed to go through?
Spain: No comment.
Algeria: ...is that some kind of joke?
Chile: Grow up, Algeria, shit happens. My destiny was screwed over here and I'm not complaining.
Algeria: You RPed a missed penalty against Austria, an "injured" Rummenigge godmod hat-trick and then offside calls against me.
Chile: JEALOUSY.
Brazil: I'll maybe look into it during lunch break, Algeria. Not much reason to doubt Spain, though, not when he was second in his group behind Northern Ireland
Northern Ireland: \o/
Algeria: Argentina scorinated that.
Brazil: Details.
Poland: Won the group!! Can't believe it! HELL YEAH SEMIFINALS
Italy:Spain wrote:Group C
Italy 3-2 Brazil
Haven't been able to RP much, but this makes up for the bleak group stage. Brazil and Argentina down, two to go for that third title
France: Yeah! So close to the title, isn't that right England? Or were Spain and half a Germany too much for you (again)?
Germany: Yeah, you just wait till we're a whole country again
Soviet Socialist Republics: What? D:<
Germany: Nothing. Go play your Olympics.
England:Spain wrote:West Germany 1-1 France (3-3 AET) (5-4 pen.)
HA! Closest you'll get to gold, mate! Takes a real choker to lose on penalties, and in a semifinal at that.
Germany:Spain wrote:Poland 0-2 Italy
You and me. 8 o'clock at the Bernabéu. To decide the Brazil-equalling third title winner. Go.

Sparky's Stance
First and foremost, I would like to say that I will not reveal my real name unless the Flames qualify for the World Cup. So many of my readers have asked me for it. If the Flames qualify, I will gladly give it to you as an act of celebration.
Now, to business. Yesopalitha closed a remarkable, twenty-one point half of qualifying with a sound 2-0 victory over Conclespia that saw the rising squad have twelve goals scored and two against for a remarkable +10 average at this point of the competition. They trail group-leading, top-seeded Astograth by one point and six goals, with eight more matches to go, including Astograth visiting the Flames in Freedom's Altar, which will, in all likelihood, the game of the cycle for the Flames.
For the game against Conclespia, Yesopalitha jumped early and coasted to the finish, with both goals being scored in the first twenty minutes. Jane and Hilary led the charge, scoring a goal each, and assisting the other in the other goal. After that, the Flames just sat back, played great defense, pressed a little, and coasted, with Manager Sir James Handel using substitutes to give key starters a rest.
Flames fans well remember what happened a the halfway point of the last qualifying cycle. After defeating Polar Islandstates and losing to Pasarga, the Flames actually led their group at the midpoint, and then faded away to a third place finish and another Cup of Harmony invitation. That was good and all, but if Yesopalitha truly wishes to become one of the elite footballing nations of the world, they must break through to the proper. It is a requirement. Until then, Yesopalitha will be mired in the group of nations who are good enough that other nations must pay attention to them, but not good enough to be a real threat.
So, the Flames will just take it one game at a time... and see where the path takes them.
My personal opinion? They'll make it. Whether it be winning the group, or winning a playoff, they'll make it. I believe in them.
