[Aboard Flight Leader Thomas Rowe's F22 14:20pm TLT]
'Well here we are boys, crude oil island' Thomas says over the radio as the island is coming over the horizon,
John then interrupts and says 'What a barren rocky place'
'Well boys, no matter how this looks it will make us rich, anyway our mission is to find a location to act as our center of operations from now on' Thomas continues.

They only needed to look for a short while as the direction they were heading for (the most direct from the air base) was a suitable landing area to start military and commercial operations out here.

'Well that will do, my fuel tank is running low anyway' Tom says and they head back to the airbase.

[At the emergency Security Conference that has been held 17:30pm TLT]
The president stands and addresses the men standing before him,
'Good Afternoon Ministers, deputy ministers and prominent military figures, we are gathered here today to decide on a course of action to take on Operation Oil-Rush, 22 F22 raptors took off today and scanned the land of Crude Oil island and found a suitable landing area in the south east. We could launch a full scale military operation there and take the whole island, but what do you think?'

The Deputy Minister of Defense, Robert Davies shouted enthusiastically 'Let's take the whole island and kill all oppressors to our reign!' and the rest of attendee's of the conference murmured in agreement.
but then the Mayor of FF004, a quiet, wise and respected man said 'I've thought through many possible scenarios and I think that that would not be the best option, let the Minister of Finance correct me here but don't you think allying with another nation would be the best course of action, our population is variably small and probably would need some back-up from another nation, this would also ensure a lesser amount of lives lost and higher profitability'
The President then interupted and said 'Andrew (who is the minister of finance) can you prove this?'
It took Andrew about a minute, with eyes beaming at him from all sides he simply added 'Yes.'

The President then said 'Well, get the letters written, and prepare 10 Destroyers, 2 Minelayers/Minedestroyers and 3 cruisers.'

As the Irentian Naval fleet was preparing to attack, the Commander of the fleet got a disturbing call. As he picked up the phone, he quickly dropped it.

"What's wrong sir?" Asked a private

"The country, Irentian....., it's gone." Said the Commander.

"What do you mean, sir?" Asked the private

"All the nuclear power plants were destroyed. All the cities, ashes. Our homeland is gone."

The entire naval staff grew quiet as others quickly looked up recent news about this. Soon the room was full of tears and silence as the news was right. Bad part was, the fleet carrying the 200 passengers and 2,000 marines heard this as well. So, did the 50 fighter pilots.

not long after that, the fifty pilots returned to the ship. The ship quickly turned around and met up with the other naval fleet. They decided to head back to pick up survivors of the destroyed land and take them out to sea before the radiation killed them, or worse.

General Backstory:
Leorudo is a small nation located on a mountain chain close to a large lake. On top of one of these mountains is Leorudo(city) which has grown from being a military fortress into a thriving city. Leorudo would have been easily overrun many times in the last few centuries if it was not for the military staying one step ahead of the curb, from state of the art weapons to nuclear-armed submarines, invading Leorudo would have a major consquences. Most of the electricity generated from Leorudo was created using wind turbines and hydroelectric plants, and most travel was by train or air or sometimes even bicycle. As the times kept moving forward, the Leorudian economy slowly digressed, as there was not much a nation of Leorudo's size could export for a large profit. Leorudo needed a colony.

President Donald Secladius slumped was slumping in his fine leather chair as he looked over the latest economic developments in the Leorudian Wood Funishing industry. The results were not great. It seemed that the red ink was going to simply drop off of the page.To fix this, the President decided he needed to write a memo to the CEO of Greenpine Lumber Company, telling him he needs to focus on more exports to the Northern Atlantian Oceania nations, and not so much Starbladyia. Starbladyia, Leorudo's much larger nieghbor nation. The country had been a great client of Leorudo for years, but as of late, more and more of Starblaydia's wood was coming from third parties, so Leorudo had to adjust. A problem with doing so was the fact that the planes the company used required gasoline and oil, a resource that Leorudo lacked and was really in no position to buy. He would have to come up with some alternative, another job for the science department to add to the list. His next memo was from the owner of a major market in Leorudo's town square, who was telling him that demand for food had increased, but the farms were not getting any bigger, so he would have to turn down customers. The President did not know how to respond to this, so he had to push it aside. The next memo was a shorter one describing a new island that had surfaced due to techtonic shifts in the ocean, and it was resource rich. The President thought nothing off it, but he still decided to assign a man to watch any developments in the area. The man's name was Micheal Aporus, a very diplomatic man. He was in his middle thirties, with cropped black hair and brown eyes. He had been a military man, serving in the Leorudian military for two years, and he rose through the ranks fairly quickly. After his service, he recieved a PHD in Economics from a major university and he began working for UBL(the United Bank of Leorudo) for three years. There, he helped keep the bank afloat during the economic downturn which left most of the rest of Leorudo's banks in the dust, that exhibition of knowledge and skill caught the attention of the government, and he was soon recruited to become a trade delegate for commerce involving international affairs. Now he would be summoned to watch over the developments on an island that the President wanted him to consider for economic benifit. In a few day's time he was to report back to the President saying what the island was like and if Leorudo should be intrested in it. This was the beginning of the greatest challenge Micheal had faced yet as a government employee, but he was not going to deny an oppurtunity of this magnitude.
The door to the President's office creaked open.
"Mr. Aporus! Welcome to my office! Please sit." The President said, gesturing towards a chair stationed facing his desk.
"Mr. President, it is an honor." Micheal said, sitting in the chair.
"I am betting you would like to know why you were summonded?" The President said, using his charismatic charm that had won over the Leorudian people in the last elections.
"Of course, does it involve the latest Greenpine statistics?" Micheal offered.
"No, but I do need to handle that, but the matter in which you are being summoned is that in which concerns a possible overseas territory." These words made Micheal excited and nervous at the same time. This was not a task that was given to a man like him on most occasions, but this was special, for some reason, he was needed.
"Sir, what does this have to do with economics?" Micheal asked.
"Well, the island rose to the surface due to techtonic plates shifting, and it is full of resources, but many nations are attempting to sieze control, and we need you to see if the risk is worth the reward." The President simplified Micheal's task.
"Sounds easy enough, when do I report back?" Micheal asked.
"One week's time. You will be given an escort of fifteen men to the island. If you are in any danger, the leader of the security task force will call in for back-up. Is that easy enough?" The President.
"Yes Sir, when do I leave?" Micheal asked.
"Now."

The conversation was over, and Micheal was too begin his task.

From: The Minister Of Defense of The Commonwealth of Terra Lucum

Dear Commander of Irentian,
we understand you and your country are in a very dark time and Terra Lucum is here to help,
due to your present control of the Crude oil Island we would like to ally with you and supply you with food and aid and even launch operations into the bombed areas to retrieve civilians,
all we would like is an alliance, I have looked over your ideaoligies and we as countries fit together, I plan to split the island once we have got rid of other contenders for the island and once we have mined and drilled our part of the island you can have the whole thing to be your new home land,

I hope this would suffice your needs,

Day Three...
18:32 15/08/2012
Somewhere on the
Ocean...

'Sir, we are now five klicks out from your destination,' said Thomas.

'Right... helmsman, order all engines at quarter power.' Victor removed the two-way radio from its cradle and dialled in a channel. 'Observation, picking up anything?'

'Sir, Observation here, we've got a lot of contacts... quite a few airborne, maybe one hundred klicks out from our position. We've also got a fleet egressing from the area. Maybe our mystery victim has been picked up?'

'Possibly...' mused Victor. 'Anything else?'

'Sir... visual has made sighting of land... land that doesn't exist according to our maps. They're not that old, maybe eighties grade, but a quarter of a century doesn't allow for an island to pop out of thin air.'

'Right...thank you Observation.' Victor replaced the radio in its cradle with a sigh. What to do?

'Sir? What are our orders?' asked Thomas.

Victor remained silent for awhile, deep in thought. Finally, he spoke. 'We don't know if the sender of that message made it out... could be they ditched on that land mass. We'll make a circle of the island, check for any potential evidence of our mystery message's origin. As for you navigator, you can make some preliminary charts of this island. We don't want any of our ships running aground this far out from civilisation, do we?'

'Yes sir.'

Korongolese Combat Air Patrol, Several Kilometres From Second Korongolese Expeditionary Force
“This is Eagle Lead to Command, we have detected approximately twenty unknown aircraft to the north west. Requesting permission for Eagle Squadron to break off from combat air patrol and establish contact with the unknowns.” Lieutenant Arnold Leinsdorf said to the Korongolese fleet with his radio switched onto the secure mode, this significantly reduced the chances of hostile forces from intercepting radio communications between the combat air patrol and the fleet.

“Command to Eagle Lead, permission granted. Please be aware that numerous November Hotel aircraft are operating in the area so positive identification must be made before considering combat.” The voice of Admiral Sydney Telford replied over the radio ten seconds later after the computer of the fighter had decrypted the return databurst.

Lieutenant Leinsdorf quickly altered his course to approach the aircraft would be spotted, the nineteen other SF-27N Thunderstorm pilots of the combat air patrol followed his actions. After one minute of flying he turned his radio onto the public mode and then made an announcement “Unknown aircraft, identity yourselves and your intentions.” He did not know it yet but the aircraft were not of New Hayesalia origin, instead they were the F-22 Raptors of Terra Lucum finishing their reconnaissance mission.

Second Korongolese Expeditionary Force, Somewhere North of Wicksteed
“I know our combat air patrol is already involved with an interception mission, the rest of the Second Korongolese Expeditionary Force is awaiting new instructions now that we have arrived.” Commander Matthew Carter said to Admiral Telford who had just got off the radio with Lieutenant Leinsdorf. The marines had not yet been deployed.

“Separate the flight deck of the Charles Hotham into two zones, one for the operation of aircraft from New Hayesalia and the other for operation of our own aircraft. Land half of our marines on the island and have the other half remain in reserve, if an enemy force attempts to land on Westwick we shall strike and decimate their rear echelon troops from behind. Have the Lightnings not already assigned to the combat air patrol to be armed with anti-ship missiles and the Thunderstorms equipped with air to air missiles. There are only two ways which an enemy force could reach Westwick, from the sea or from the air.” Admiral Telford ordered.

Soon the men and women under his command began carrying out the orders. The weapons bay of each F-35B Lightning II was loaded with two Naval Strike Missiles and those of the SF-27N Thunderstorms were loaded with six MBDA Meteor beyond visual range missiles and two IRIS-T short range missiles. From two of the Wasp Class amphibious assault ships a force of just under two thousand marines equipped with forty NH90 transport helicopters, twenty AH-1Z Viper attack helicopters, two LCU Mark 10 landing craft, eight FV102 Striker tank destroyers and forty AAV-7A1 amphibious assault vehicles began heading towards shore to support the New Hayesalian ground forces.

The helicopters' noises of awakening were prominent agianst the evening air. Three Westland Lynx-styled helicopters arose from the top of the Olyimpic Tower. These helicopters were going to make a long journey of about 324 miles to the checkpoint from which they would refuel, fly around the island, return to the checkpoint, and refuel for the ride home. A task force of three helicopters, two armed with air-to-ground turrents, one armed with aircraft-to-aircraft locking missles. Micheal was in the latter. Five men (not counting Micheal) where stationed in each helicopter.for the flight. The helicopter to the right of the main was the photographer of the mission, recording video and taking pictures of the island and whatever else their could be. The helicopter to the left was the main communications and radar helicopter. The big red reinforcement button was located on this helicopter. The mission was ready to commence, and pushing the consoles forward, and the thud-thud-thud grew ever faster as the task force rose into the night sky.

PRIME MINISTER'S OFFICE, REVNAMI

"So, Operation Oil-Rush or something? That's a big mistake they're making right there!" yelled General Eli Knight, watching the large television on the Prime Minister's wall. They'd just watched an interview on the national news channel with a freelance security writer. He was talking about how a large part of Terra Lucum's military was mobilising, and that almost their whole fleet of F-22s had just landed a while ago, as well as blips from an unnamed New Hayesalian air traffic controller that he'd heard jets that didn't link up to what his radars were saying.
"Well we don't know what we're dealing with yet. They'd have heard of our exclusion policies, they know the New Korongese are ready to blow em out of the water if they come near." said ACM Scotts. "Alternatively, our Navy Aviation will."
"What about that ship that's just outside of the exclusion area?" asked Hayes, referring to the Cordessian vessel.
"It's not looking hostile or at all capable of doing any damage, not yet. If it moves into the zone, it'll be harpooned before it knows what hit it." replied Scotts.
"And the Harrier flight?"
"Well they were over the ocean at the time, but we haven't heard anything about them. They all disappeared, but there is no evidence of an explosion. Officially, it's been talked about and it's probably going to be a conspiracy theorists wet dream, but honestly we don't know."
"Grand."

INKV CHARLES HOTHAM

Watch the lights. One white... two red... c'mooon....

The Charles Hotham, and her crew, were about to invite aboard an F-22N Sea Raptor of the New Hayesalian Air Force. It would be a suprise to them- usually only Navy aviators in most militaries were capable of carrier landings, but the Navy and the Air Force of New Hayesalia could operate both ways. Indeed, the Sea Raptor was very unique to New Hayesalia, being a naval version of the original Raptor. It had meant the introduction of carrier landing gear and airframe strenghtening to withstand the brutal forces of landing so quickly. The flaps and and gear of the grey, stealthy airplane were down and lining up. Korongese sailors, and pilots as well, watched the beautiful plane come in. On the deck of the Gerald Ford Class carrier were F-35s and an E-2, both extremely advanced equipment, but this F-22 was well and truly something else.

Touchdown, and the F-22 stopped! It had hooked the steel arrestor cable and slowed. Shortly thereafter it had disconnected, and now towed to the side of the aircraft. The Sea Raptor's wings collapsed in, saving it's deck footprint on the huge ship. Pilots looked on, talking about the interesting new plane as the tinted canopy opened. As a ladder came up to the canopy, the pilot detatched himself from a multitude of straps and his Aviators Combat Helmet, another advanced and unique technology.

He exited, taking off his webbing and placing it on his seat. His rank was revealed, that of a Squadron Leader. To his navy allies he was a Lt. Commander. A short visit was made to the tiny personal equipment storage area, where he picked up a cloth garrisson cap, and a small green cloth. His arrival had been expected, and he was met and escorted to the bridge of this 'fine ship' as he called it. His ensign patch, the light blue and silver cross and sky blue background, New Hayesalian flag in the top left quarter.

He was introduced to the captain of the ship. A sailor got the mans attention as the New Hayesalian stood at attention, graspin gthe green cloth in his left arm; it was a flag.

The flag of Wicksteed Island, a New Hayesalian territory.

Opiachus Space Agency - Land, Sea, and Air Monitoring Program
"Wow - look at that - it's a new island where that 7.9 was! Check out the SEASAT data!"
He typed in the coordinates and retrieved the data from SEASAT Orbit 80039. On the screen was an island with no life, completely barren as if it was a piece of the Moon. The infrared data revealed that there were no lifeforms. The Geological Survey was notified. It took them only an hour to realize this island rested above the gargantuan Moss-Rice Petroleum Basin, a vast reserve of oil and gas that had laid untapped for decades since the fateful Coral Shallows oil rig explosion inthe area of the island.

This island was old news to the President. His intel people had already told him that various nations had sent military assets to the island or were about to do so. It was decided - the admirals of the Navy were notified and the Blue Water Fleet was activated and prepared. This consisted of an aircraft carrier, a battleship and a few cruisers and destroyer escorts. It was small compared to the Grand Littoral Fleet but the Blue Water Fleet was armed to the teeth with the latest radars and missiles. However they were slow at preparing for combat, and the President hated this delay. So he ordered a bombing raid on the island to fill the gap.

Sakharini Airfield
0200 hours

"This is Bravo One, fueled and ready."
"Bravo Two, on the way!"
"Bravo Three, ready for battle!"
The ATC tower cleared the three B-1B stealth bombers for takeoff and they were vectored via GPS towards the island. It would take them a while to reach their target... the bombers were converted with extra-large fuel tanks and had drop-tanks equipped. Their engines were more efficient but had a larger radar cross-section. These were slow and heavy turtles that would take a few hours to fly to the island.

Day Three...
22:18 15/08/2012
Somewhere on the
Ocean...

'Marshal, we're coming out of the last turn, we're back where we started, sir,' said Thomas. Outside, large waves were ramming into the side of the ship, sending sheets of water rushing across the bow.

'Very well,' said Victor, 'Patch me through to Observation and put them on loudspeaker.'

It took a few moments for the switches to be made. The line finally flared into life with a rush of static.

'Observation, this is Marshal Lopotev, I need a quick run down of your observations.'

'Affirmative, sir. Long range radar has picked up massed fleets and aircraft making for the uncharted island. Unsure as to the disposition, nor exact composition of forces arrayed. There are several discrete groups, with signatures indicative of carrier fleets. Public channels have been fairly quiet, but encrypted channels have been seing a lot of activity, originating from aforementioned unknowns. We have received no further transmission of the kind we originally intercepted thus far.'

'Thank you, Observation, that'll be all.' Victor closed the channel, head bowed in thought.

'Orders?' asked XO Edward, a middle-aged veteran of the Separatist War.

'Well, we won't be getting far in this weather,' mused Victor, pointing to the storm raging outside, 'And we still have no conclusive proof as to what happened to our mystery sender... what does meteorology say?'

'Well... this storm should blow out by midday tomorrow at the latest... but meteorology being meteorology...'

'Understood.' Victor heaved a sigh. Decisions, decisions, decisions. He took the microphone from its cradle, and dialled it into the all areas broadcast channel. 'All hands, this is your Marshal speaking. No doubt many of you are wondering what we are doing here, having detoured from our original journey. Nine hours ago, we intercepted a distress message, broadcast on public channels. Since then, we've received no word. While we've been doing a lap of the island, unknown forces have been amassing for reasons we do not know. Could be they are partaking in a series of war games. Perhaps they're seeking to evict the local natives. Fact of the matter is, is that there's somebody out there could use our help. We are honour bound to render whatever assistance we may. Nonetheless, while so many forces remain in such close proximity, I ask that you all keep a watchful eye, and be prepared to rise up and commit to your duties if the need arises. That will be all.'

'So, we're going in, are we?' asked Edward. 'The Northern Wind isn't that old, but she can't stand toe to toe against modern vessels, let alone a fleet!'

'We are going in, Edward... ensign, get me a paper and pen...' Victor clicked the pen, before scribbling down a brief message.

'Sir, you're going to broadcast that on open channels? Won't that alert all involved to our presence?' asked Edward in disbelief.

'It would, XO, it would, but they've had the better part of a day to start dropping bombs on our heads. I imagine they would've caught wind of us just past midday today, AWACs can see further than our foil dish ever could. Ensign, get this message down to Comms. Navigator, plot a course for the cove on the northern coast.'

'Yes sir,' answered Thomas.

'We're sitting out the storm?' asked Edward.

'We are. I don't fancy pushing this bucket too far,' answered Victor.

Bridge of IKNV Charles Hotham, Somewhere North of Wicksteed
“Airborne early warning has just picked up two… no, three strategic bomber sized contacts approximately five hundred kilometers east of the fleet. We should deploy a group of fighters immediately to intercept the new contacts, if they are hostile they could inflict heavy damage to New Hayesalian force on Wicksteed.” Commander Matthew Carter said seconds after the combat information centre officer of the E-2D Advanced Hawkeye flying in circles above the fleet reported in the contacts. The external fuel tanks which the Opiachus military had fitted to the B-1B Lancer strategic bombers had increased the radar cross section and made them visible to the powerful AN/APY-9 radar fixed above the fuselage of the airborne early warning aircraft.

“Agreed, have five Thunderstorms take off immediately to intercept those contacts. If the contacts attempt to enter the no-fly zone despite our warnings order our pilots to shoot them down, we do not want several strategic bombers saturating our ground forces.” Admiral Sydney Telford replied and ten minutes later the first of five SF-27N Thunderstorm multirole fighters took off from the deck of the IKNV Charles Hotham armed with two IRIS-T heat seeking missiles and six MBDA Meteor beyond visual range missiles. Like the pilots of the combat air patrol assigned to intercept the F-22 Raptors earlier, these pilots would attempt to establish communications with the crew of each bomber before resorting to shooting them down in the hope that they would peacefully turn back.

Admiral Telford then turned to see the New Hayesalian pilot standing at attention. “At ease Squadron Leader." he said allowing the man to relax. "Welcome aboard the Imperial Korongolese Naval Vessel Charles Hotham. If you want a mission immediately I have just dispatched five fighters to intercept some strategic bombers which we just picked up, you and your fellow pilots are free to participate in the mission.”

“Sir, we have just received a new message from a vessel known as the Northern Wind which states that it will be dropping anchor in a cove on the coast to the south of our present position. There is also something about a missing person at grid coordinates 110347.” Commander Carter announced as the bizarre message came in over the radio.

Admiral Telford turned away from the New Hayesalian pilot give out further orders to his crew. “Send the Excelsior to shadow this vessel, if the Northern Wind turns out to be hostile they have orders to sink her. This includes any form of military reconnaissance of Wicksteed.” He sternly ordered, the crew of the Northern Wind could possibly have been sent ahead of a hostile fleet to scout the Korongolese and New Hayesalian forces in the area. The Seawolf class attack submarine IKNV Excelsior moved away from its position beneath the Second Korongolese Expeditionary Force and began heading towards the broadcast location of the message.

When news reached the Kremlin of resources on an island, and petty war and squabbling to gain it. L-F Russia had to get into the fray.

The White House, Moscow, Russia

A Generalissimo burst into the White House and into the Czarina's Private Room.

"Great Czarina! There has been a squabbling of peasant nations over a pitiful little island abundant of resources, what shall we do?"

"Is nuking them an option?"

"Da... but it is unwise."

"Carpet bombing the island?"

"Risk of damages the resource deposits."

"Napalm?"

"Um... nyet."

"Well, then send in the Airforce to deal with these hippies!"

"Da, my Czarina."

Kursk Vostochny Airport, 7 km East of Kursk, Kursk Oblast, Russia

The Airforce began mobilizing, PAK FA's flying off the runway, straight toward the coordinates of the island, armed with R-37 Air-to-Air missiles to engage enemy aerial forces, organized into 5 squads, each squad with 10 planes, making up a total of 50 PAK FA's ready to take on enemy air forces.

The towers gave them the go ahead, and they sped off, each linking up with their designated squads.

To the squabbling peasant nations

From your new enemy

If you intend to claim that pitiful island full of resources, you'll have to get past our airforce, you filthy barbarians.

We won't allow you scum to take these precious objects for yourselves.

We'll carpet bomb you off the damn island if we have to, in order to aquire those resources.

Now either give them up, or be massacred.

Day Three...
23:53 15/08/2012
Somewhere on the
Ocean...

'Observation, anything to report?'

'No sir, nothing to report.'

'Thank you Observation.' Click. 'Comms, what do you hear?'

'Usual sir, lots of crackle and pop. Few irrele- wait... we're picking up a transmission... Lesbian-Fascist Russia? They must've been drunk when they penned that name. Uh... oh, hey, great news. They're threatening to carpet-bomb the island on account of some resources.

'Guess it's a good thing we're on the water then.'

'Maybe we can route through here when our mission to Vanum is done. Do a little bit of panning for gold...'

'Need another filling already? Johnson, pull your head in, if you think you can make the swim from here to the beach, be my guest.'

'I'll... pass on that sir.'

'Thought so... that'll be all, Comms.' Click.

'What's the word, Victor?' asked Carlson.

'Quiet all around, which is what I prefer,' answered Victor, replacing the hand set. 'No word on our mystery though.'

'Might be we'll just have to leave it be, Victor. We are needed in Vanum Norendum, after all.'

INTELLIGENCE CORPS HQ, REVANMI

The reports were stunning, and shocking. There was a multi-pronged attack on Wicksteed Island, coming from Opiachusian Air Force B-1s- which would be flying directly into the range of a Crossbow Theatre Air Defence System- as well as a huge flight of PAK-FA fighters. Obviously, the fact of the matter was that this island was considerably close to multiple nations, one of them not being New Hayesalia!

The response was going to be tough. The New Korongese Navy had immediately been called into action, asked to fire every possible plane to assist in the defence of Wicksteed.

The first issue concerned the ship. The Cordessian ship, thought to be military, presented an issue to the Island’s security and as such had to be eliminated.

NHS James Rednalf, POLARIS CLASS DESTROYER

Having being en-route to join the Korongese fleet, the James Rednalf was about to take action. In the role of anti-ship operations, the Polaris Class, designed by United NW Canada and built in New Hayesalia, was well-equipped. By virtue of it’s nature, it was well equipped with the CTCM-10 Tactical Cruise Missile, a ship-launched missile with a range of 3000 kilometres. Well more than the approximately 1000 kilometre range from the New Hayesalian ship to the enemy.

They were inside the exclusion zone. For this, they would pay. Already rescue helicopters, CH-47 Chinooks, were being prepared to pick up the enemy sailors who would obviously need assistance.

Loud klaxons blared upon the ship as the bridge flurried into activity. Ahead of it roared, and the floor became fire and smoke as the missile took flight. It’s long body streamed away faster than one could see, locked onto the known position of the anchored ship.

The Captain thought to himself. The Battle of Wicksteed Island. Sounded pretty cool. It would take his mind off the death that was about to occur.

The New Korongese- with the help of the Squadron Leader- were now about to challenge the incoming PAK FAs, who were also flying into the SAM covered areas of the island. Once they were detected, they’d probably be taken out. It would by a true test for the New Korongese Navy. They were the first issue, the bombers were hours away and soon to be intercepted by New Hayesalian F-15SENHNs. Stupid, stupid commanders cost very good men.

Proposal to the Associated Governments

Postby Yohannes » Tue Aug 14, 2012 4:33 am

From the Desk of Her Majesty the Empress
[Translated to English] [Translated from Yohannesian]
Ardenfontein, Yohannes
Northeast Gholgoth
Associated representatives
Open declaration

Greetings,

Honoured extraordinaries and most venerable plenipotentiaries, as you may well have known, I am Garnet til Alexandros, Empress of Yohannes, Queen of Alexandria and Symbolical Protector of Her Historical Dominions. This letter has been written by I myself personally for the consideration of your represented government. I write this letter with the intent of declaring the easy availability of Yohannesian capital at hand - source of foreign direct investment - which may be utilised toward the expansion of strategic infrastructure, industries or industrial capital of your represented nation throughout the chain of islands recently discovered thereunto.

The Empire of Yohannes has been noted historically as a credible and neutral creditor - monetary distributor - of over four hundred nations overseas. By allowing my represented government to finance the strategic initiative of your represented government within the island chain; whether they be that of commercial, economic or military, your represented government will acquire the edge which your possible, and direct competitor will certainly not have, and lack at their disposal.

It is without showing that I may easily claim that, through the Yohannesische Bundesbank, the Empire of Yohannes will easily support your cause. Furthermore, in my capacity as the leading Board Director of VMK Steel Works, I would like to propose the establishment of VMK Steel Works factories and facilities throughout the associated territorial sovereignty of your represented government within the boundary of this island chain.

VMK Steel Works as of the present is active in over three hundred nations worldwide. Some of the benefit of opening VMK Steel Works factories and production facilities in your represented government's nation is easily apparent and of obvious characteristics;

  • Employment: VMK Steel Works factories will only allow the employment of your represented government's people and citizens, thus reducing unemployment in your nation as well as further increasing the rate of productivity of your represented nation.
  • Regulation: VMK Steel Works factories will fully abide by the condition of your represented government, whether they be that of tax rate imposition, senior management quota requirement, et cetera.
It is, thus, with the above proposal in mind that I await the decision of any governments which may consider favourably the amalgamation of commercial relationship with the Empire of Yohannes, as mentioned thereunto above.

I and my represented government await the respondance of your represented government.

Sincerely,
Image
Her Imperial Majesty Garnet til Alexandros
Empress of Yohannes and Queen of Alexandria

Day Four...
01:23 16/08/2012
Somewhere on the
Ocean...

It was quiet night on the Northern Wind. Victor had gone below for some dearly needed R&R. Carlson was on the bridge.

'What are we doing here?' muttered Carlson to himself. Vanum Norendum was still a day's full steam away, and here they were, sitting on an old rock, waiting for the weather to clear up.

'Observation, what do you see?' Checks were carried out every fifteen minutes. Naturally, the ship's sensor monitors could alert the bridge at a moment's notice.

'Lot of rain, sir. Visual is coming up with nothing, radar's the usual. Lots of movement, none headed our way.'

'Thank you Observation.' Click. 'Communications, what do you hear?'

'We're getting increased chatter, sir. Can't really pick out what it's saying though. Looks like forces are mobilising sir, probably for an attack on the island.'

'Very well, thank you Communications.' Click. 'Observation, this is bridge, Communications is reporting chatter regarding fleet mobilisation. What do you see?'

'Radar's splotchy, but we are seeing a bit of a buzz on radar... wait... we've incoming, heading straight for us, distance is fifty klicks out, bearing forty-two degrees and ten minutes, speed is nine hundred klicks an hour!'

Carlson quickly dialled his microphone onto the public broadcast system. 'All hands, I am declaring code red, we have incoming missile ordnance. I want CIWS systems primed, time to impact is three minutes.' He dropped the hand set in its cradle. 'Raise anchor! Helmsman, make bearing forty-two degrees, five minutes, engines at full forward after turn!'

OOC: A bit of info on the CTCM-10's payload would be nice...

The Task Force was more or less becoming delayed. The radar on one of the helicopters picked up a few bombers and a couple fighters flying towards each other. They did not want to get tangled in that. This would more or less add an hour to their trip. Now if a fighter were to stray towards them, if that fighter gets within eyesight of the helicopters' gunners, it is going down.
Ever more slowly, the night in which they had started this journey turned into early dawn and streaks of morning lights burst through the water on the horizon. The island would be closer now, emerging from the skyline just a bit blacker than the deep blue sea surronding it. "Okay, so we are going to speed across the island, camera's on, grab the footage, and turn around and head back to Leorudo. We can't face all of these arrangements with just three choppers, but if the island is worth it, we will be back."
The orange-red, round, fiery, sphere-that-is the sun slowly began to reveal itself from horizon, and the pilot of the radar plane stated that the island is about ten minutes away. The most crucial moment of the day was about to commence.

Above the island

The PAK FA's, each in their designated squads stayed huddled up.

"Active stealth in 3, 2, 1..."

Suddenly, the PAK FA's activated their stealth, making them completely invisible by radar, they swooped over the island several times, seemingly popping out of no where, open firing at any aircraft they saw with their GSh-301 machineguns and their R-37 Air-to-Air missiles, making sure to clear the skies over the island, and establish air dominance.

Anything that wasn't theirs, they shot down, sending a clear "Fuck you guys, this island is ours!" kind of message to any poor soul to fly over the island.

Before you call "Godmod" on the whole "stealth" thing, the PAK FA is a multirole stealth fighter, look it up, so you're petty SAM's aren't going to be any trouble for them.

The Leorudian radars watched more unknown planes flying in and out of radar, and this burns fuel quiet quickly, so the fighters must have been coming from cruisers nearby. But, Leorudo had some of the most advanced radars in the World, and these planes would be seen on Leorudo's radar. The funny thing was, these planes would just fly across the island, shooting what looked like everything, so they might have been rouge. But luckily after a few minutes of tampering, a short-range radar would pick up the bombers if they got within five miles of the helicopter, firing or not. They would be in a for a nasty little surprise when Four Air-To-Air Missles come screeching at 'em, and if they had reinforcements, well, then the fifteen men hop on a couple anti-material turrents and shoot near cockpit area of the plane.

Editted for the little things.

OOC:
I know that was a little god-mod, but LF-Russia was basically going to knock everything out of the island in one post, and I had to give my helicopters SOMETHING to defend themselves, because right now my RP is living on that, yeah...

It was a bit of a Godmod... but I'll let it slide, but you know, the PAK FA is a fighter... not a bomber. ;)

'Provozhatyj', somewhere on the ocean

"Sir, we've received following message." the Comms Officer of the 'Provozhatyj' told Captain Melnikov.

The Northern Wind shall be dropping anchor on the northern cove of the unidentified island, for a total estimated duration of sixteen hours. Northern Wind also requests any information regarding loss of personnel at grid co-ordinates 110347.

"Hmm, normally I would send them the message that the situation is under control, but we've had no word from Belikonov and LARF-117. THe SAR-Team also didn't give positive reports about the whereabouts of LARF-117. Maybe this 'Northern Wind' guys have some means of searching, we don't have..." the Captain replied. "Get me radio communications ready and try to find the channel of that 'Northern Wind', comrade."

"Yes, sir" the Comms Officer replied and a few minutes later he handed the Radio over to Captain Melnikov.

"This is Captain Vladimir Semyonovich Melnikov of the 'Provozhatyj'. In response to your message about loss of personell at position 110347, we would like to inform you about changes of the situation. The reconaissance Aircraft of the Lokhavian Air Reconaissance Forces, LARF-117 has sent the distress signal when being locked on by unknown warplanes. They have been however not shot down, assumably. Assumably, because there was a further radio call, in which was described another incident. As the SAR-Helicopters were on-route to position 110347, there was a conversation with LARF-117 an the radio. LARF-117 was ordered to leave the danger zone immediately. But then they sent message, that they were almost hit by a missile of unknown origin, followed by a second one or more. They told the SAR-Team they were trying to get out of the zone. Shortly after that, we've lost contact due to unknown reasons. The SAR-Team is still out there searching for the aircraft or its crew. This is all the information we currently have.
So, if you are in the area, we would ask you to support us with the search. Your help would be more than apprechiated.
We're currently also heading to the last known position of the aircraft. It would be a pleasure if you would accompany us.
We hope to hear from you."

The Captain finished the transmission.

"Now, let's hope we find 'em... Number One, sitrep!" the Captain ordered.

"Are the camera's on?" Micheal asked over his short-range walkie-talkie.
"They are live-streaming as we speak, Sir." One of the men said to Micheal.
"Thank you, now look at that island..." Micheal said, gazing upon the cooled molten rock that seemed to have been forced above the sea. It was amazing. Black un-refined oil seeped above the ground. It was obvious that this island was one to behold, but the battles raging over it showed that it would not be easy. The camera's were getting all of this. The sweep of the island would be over soon, and they could return home, call in much more help, and slowly advance onto the island. The picture that would go on the evaluation file to the President was this:

"Mr. President, Im sorry for disturbing you, but I must tell you what it is going on!" Micheal said. He was going to make an early report.
"Sure, but make it quick, I have the CFO of Greenpine on the other line." The President's voice rang out through the helicopter.
"This island is much too valuable to pass on, but military in the area is intense. We will need an invasion force." Micheal explained.
The President sat in silence for a moment.
"I will think on it. You should probally get back to the checkpoint."
"Yes Sir."

Off the coast of the island

Under the waves, much to the dismay of the local under water wildlife, a Oscar-II class submarine slipped under the ocean waves, lurking towards the island.

This was the Tver, a Oscar-II class submarine, comissioned in 1992 for the Russian Navy, it hovered above the reefs and sand at the bottom, and eventually began to surface, armed to the teeth with P-700 Granit Anti-Ship Cruise Missiles, it targeted the Cordessian Naval forces, launching all 24 missiles at the enemy fleet, before it could watch the destruction rian down on the enemy fleet, however, it sunk back down beneath the waves in order to avoid being spotted.

It then turned around and left the sector, away from the island, unknown how many ships it sunk.
