Well one intelligent race, and they only survived because the damn Wraith cut a deal with the Kyoto trade union to keep a few them alive, via using bits of cell matter to genetically recreate them.

Originally however i merely destroyed the planet because it was inconveniently placed, the base idea came later.





Technically the Drones wiped out all life in an entire galaxy over the span of six million years, after that they just kept life dead until they developed sentience.
